6. ● In modern rotogravure printing, an electromechanical
engraving printing cylinder features minute cells designed
to retain ink, with their size and pattern determining the
desired image. These cells transfer ink directly onto the
substrate through a combination of pressure and capillary
action, resulting in the final printed image.
● Efficient ink application, consistent print quality, simplified
printing processes and durable cylinders stand as
proficient benefits of this method, especially for extensive
print jobs and the creation of high-quality images.

7. ● With a write resolution of up to 540 l/cm,
XtremeEngraving achieves results that in their
detail are every match for laser engraving.
Yet it also supports coarse screens with cross
diagonals of over 1000 μm and engraving
depths of up to 100 μm.

● XtremeEngraving is an engraving process to achieve exceptional contour definition
combined with high print density. It separates write resolution from the selected screen.
This means that ultrafine resolutions can be combined with high ink application volumes.
XtremeEngraving is used with great success to reproduce logos, bar codes, labels, drug
packaging, micro lettering, security features, and other high quality packaging.

8. ● TECNOGRAVURA features a specialized Prepress Department
equipped with the latest software and automation procedures to
ensure continuous quality and short lead times. Complemented
by a team of dedicated experts, our commitment guarantees
your design undergoes a meticulous transformation, resulting in
high-definition prints of superior quality.
● In our repro process, we optimize and streamline the data to be
accurately reproduced during printing. This includes the
creation of separations/special color channels, checking and
adjusting minimum tone values, creating trappings, checking
the line widths and applying the color profile, and many others.

9. ● If the design involves multiple colors, color separation is carried
out. This step breaks down the design into individual color
components, typically using the CMYK color model plus Spot or
Pantone colors needed for the full design.
● Aligned with our clients' machinery's specific requirements and
operational needs, we expertly prepare the cylinder layout,
commonly referred to as Step and Repeat. This entails
duplicating and arranging the primary design in a systematic
grid or pattern. This method guarantees precise alignment and
consistent spacing between repeated images, ultimately
fostering a cost-effective and streamlined production process.

10. ● Color management is a crucial step of the process. That is
why we carry out color correction with the latest software,
which allows us to simulate the printing properties of different
colors using spectral data.
● The so-called fingerprints are created in advance to meet the
requirements of color reproduction and create a realistic
simulation of the expected result. The purpose of the "test
prints" is to record a particular combination of variables in
order to be able to derive the general rules in the form of
color profiles.

choose between regular steel bases or lighter aluminum
bases, shafted or shaftless, based on your preference. We
also have the ability to repair your cylinder for greater
longevity or even adapt it to your preferred machine.
● Tecnogravura also provides cylinder storage to house
cylinders belonging to our clients. This setup is designed to
reduce lead times in the engraving process. In addition to
storage, we thoroughly analyze each cylinder before it
enters production.
