It’s include :

1. Raise awareness:
It is important to raising the public awareness
about new, emerging and annual health concern.
Also use to raise the profile of illness and other
health matter.
Social media is power full tool to spread message
to large section of population.
Also it is use to combat to spread misinformation.
2. Combating misinformation:
There is lot of misinformation on social media
regarding healthcare. Fake news or information can be
very dangerous to any individuals and society as well
as.
There are 7 steps to find out the news or information is
correct or not. These step are suggested by World
Health Organization (W.H.O).
•Assess the source: it include the source of
information. From where you get info. ? Was it is
genuine source or not?
•Go beyond headline: some times new article have
catchy headline which help them to increase the traffic
of there website. Also it provoke the sentiments of
reader or person who gets news.
• Identify the author: Online we can search the author is
genuine or not.
• Check the date: Date present the crucial information
about the report.
• Examine the supporting evidence: You can cross
check the fact, stats and figure from other websites or can
review the evidence of article and post.
• Check your biases: Check the article is biased or not .
Sometime the source want to manipulate data or fact to
set a biased mindset upon audience.
• Turn on fact-checkers : When in doubt, consult trusted
fact-checking organizations. The International Fact-
Checking Network is a good place to start. Global news
outlets focused on debunking misinformation are also
good sources. Examples of these include the Associated
Press and Reuters.
3.Crisis communication:
In today generation social media is most common source of
information. Example instagram, YouTube , Face book ,
Google ,etc.
Social media provide real time update directly to person.
Example.
In the time of covid most of people communicate each other
by different social media apps. Also news channel are
heavily depend on social media.
Also in Ukraine vs. Russia war we got coverage in these
social media apps. Also we got perspective from each sides.
4.Expand the reach of existing resources:
Use social media to bring this education to the learners.
Medical professionals often use journals and conferences to
keep up with new knowledge.
They shared the webinars through live video on YouTube and
Facebook.
5. Answer common questions :
Social media are also use to find solution for health related
problem or for clearing doubt about health also.
For example, the World Health Organization developed
a Facebook messenger Chatbot. It can answers user health
related issues.
6. Promoting citizen engagement:
Talking about personal healthcare issues can be difficult.
Yes, even for doctors and trained professionals.
This is especially true for subjects such as mental health.
Social stigmas can often prevent people from seeking the
professional help they may need.
For this problem some organization organized online
meeting / therapy session . Where they do normal
conversation to specialist or sometimes they talk to some
on like him.

post a big challenge for social media marketers.
Compliance is crucial for professionals that share
sensitive information that concerns the public. In the
healthcare industry, HIPAA and FDA compliance are a
must.

It’s vital to ensure security guidelines are in place for all
your healthcare social media channels. You need to be
able to revoke access for anyone who leaves the
organization. You can manage permissions from one
centralized dashboard. This means you can always

cyberbullying, which can have serious
consequences for the mental health of
individuals who are targeted. Social media
users can be rude and offensive in
comments. Your task is to track this behaviour
and warn/ban such comments, tweets, or
profiles. consequences of cyberbullying and
take steps to protect themselves and their
patients from harm.
Patience privacy concern:
Social media applications typically collect and
share personal information, which can be a
concern for individuals who are hesitant to
share sensitive health information online.
There are several ways in which personal
health information can be shared on social
media, including through posts, photos, and
comments.
Distraction:
Social media can also be a major distraction, which can
be a concern for healthcare professionals. May be at risk
of being distracted by notifications and other distractions
while they are working.
This can lead to errors or a decline in productivity, which
can have serious consequences for patient care. In
addition, social media can be a major distraction for
individuals who are seeking health information or seeking
to manage there own health.
Stand out from the crowd :
The Internet is exploding because of low quality content.
The general public has access to it. They rewrite each
other’s articles without bothering about quality and
credibility. This leads to the problem of young people
absorbing useless or even harmful information about their
health behavior. The challenge for medical professionals
here is to stand out from the crowd and share only relevant
information.
