Jesse Owens was an American track and field sprinter and long jumper. He achieved international fame for his victories in Berlin at the 1936 Summer Olympics, where he won four gold medals. Despite facing racism at home, Owens won gold in the 100m, 200m, long jump, and 4x100m relay in Nazi Germany, defying Adolf Hitler's claims of Aryan supremacy. After facing difficulties finding work and being honored due to his skin color, Owens eventually became a coach and advocate for African American athletes, leaving a legacy as one of the greatest Olympic athletes of all time.
