Our class designed an experiment in order to test the ability of the enzyme cellobiase to break down
cellobiose, in order to produce p nitrophenol when certain factors were changed including
temperature, pH, and inhibitor concentration as well as a change in concentration in the enzyme and
substrate. A baseline experiment was established and absorbances were taken in order to determine the
concentration of p nitrophenol in each scenario. We then took these calculations in order to then
calculate Vo, inhibitor, enzyme and substrate concentration to produce a graph.

Reflective Essay On Journalism
I chose journalism as my elective for this year because I wanted to continue the journalism career that
I began in middle school since it allowed me to write about topics that grasped my interest and passion
aside from writing required essays in a classroom setting. In addition, I believed that this course would
allow me to improve my writing skills by learning the grammatical, ethical, and organizational
concepts relating to journalism such as the code of ethics, the inverted pyramid, and the editorial
hierarchy. I also hoped for the course to help me with responsibility and time management since I
knew I would have to write articles and have other loads of works from other classes. Not to mention,
journalism has allowed me to be motivated to write a good article not for the grade, but for the sole
purpose to make the article right. In middle school journalism was an extracurricular activity and this
year I was graded on my personal interests, my time management, and my writing quality rather than
on the actual learning of a subject. This course has challenged me to write outstanding pieces of work
based on my time management and motivation as well as without many guidelines and structure
given. It had also made me a lot more confident since it requires interaction outside of class to acquire

This month we were assigned to read the last book of Mere Christianity. Chapter one talks about God
s relation to us as followers of Christ. Chapter two discusses the Trinity, and how even though there
are three parts he is a personal God. Chapter three addressed God with time. God is not in the past or
future, but he is in the present. Chapter four sets up the chapter with an image of two books stacked on
each other. These books are a symbol of God as a father and as a son, and along with this he discusses
God s love for us. Chapter five addresses how God breathes life into us, because before we were

I found this section of reading repetitive. In this portion of the reading C.S Lewis is wrapping up the
loose ends of his discussion on Christianity. Even though I struggled a bit to get through this reading I
still pulled out some interesting points from the reading. One chapter of the book that I enjoyed is
chapter eight. Chapter eight discusses if Christianity is hard or easy. I found this chapter to appeal to
me most because it is something I am very passionate about. During all three of my group s meetings I
have discussed how throughout the book C.S Lewis made it a point to recognize that Christianity is
not a walk in the park. C. S Lewis says in chapter 8, The Christian way is different: harder, and easier.
Christ says Give me All. I don t want so much of your time and so much of your money and so much
of your work: I want you (pg. 196). I think this quote sums up Christianity because it is not about if
your walk with the Lord is easy or hard because everyone s faith is different. At the end of the day the
Lord wants all of you and it is as simple as that. Along with this C.S Lewis tied in a lot of imagery
throughout the chapters of this book. He brings imagery with the books, the to soldiers, and by

chances and shape by social structure and how it could have affected our self and society. We get

feeling so well, tired, exhausted and being forced to fight thousands of people who want you out of

Pointless? Yes pointless. Do you remember why we originally went to war with Iraq? Bush told us
they had weapons of mass destruction. Do they? No. Why are we still there? I don t know... do you?
After searching Iraq for weapons and coming up empty handed George Bush decided he did not like
Sadam Hussein and the world would be much safer with out him so he attacks. He did not even have
the support of the European Union. Opposing countries included France, Germany, Russia, Greece,
Belgium and Belarus. He is now trying to make Iraq a democracy, like the American government,
which is not a bad idea at all. There is just way too much opposition from Iraq, they obviously do not
want it, let them have there dictatorship, it is not our problem. This is a useless war now. We do have
to give credit to the many countries that helped us by sending in there own troops to Iraq. Mainly
England, Italy and Poland who sent a combined total of almost 15,000 troops to the 130,000 America
sent. Unfortunately there are casualties.
Casualties include over 1000 American deaths and 7722 wounded American s in Iraq. What about the
Iraqi people? Are they cooperating? Nope, so far around 15,000 have been killed 30% of the deaths
were civilians. This is not right for Bush to do. He should not be in Iraq killing that many people
