International Capital Flow Directly Depends On A Country...
2.3.2 Fixed Currency
Albuquerquw, Loayza, and Serven (2005) have determined that international capital flow directly
depends on a country s financial situation and level of development. Abadie and Gardeazabel (2007)
agreed that the stock markets are the main source of FDI, it is well known. But foreign firms that have
been purchased through the stock market are in desperate need of financial services. This way, as a
prospective investor makes decisions regarding his investments, he will be able to take into account
the country s financial development and banking development, and determine how such factors will
ultimately affect their investments According to Campa (1993) as with all investments, there is always
a potential risk ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Consequence, it leads to a rise the imports cost for the Kingdom. Saudi economy has suffered from
increasing import prices of food commodities, which constitute about 26 per cent of the index price. It
had recorded until 17th March 2008, increasing in food commodities were denominated by dollars of
62 per cent compared to last year. Which is reflected negatively on the balance of payments, as well to
a decrease in the value of money earned from exports. That means the double of negative impact of
exchange rate depreciation of the dollar. According to study prepared by the Bank (SAMBA), the
Kingdom has lost during the period between 2003 and 2004, more than four billion riyals as a result of
exchange rate depreciation of the dollar. Based on the adopted standard of SAMBA s report, is
expected to reach the sustained losses of the Saudi economy nearly 30 billion riyals, because of the
low dollar exchange rate, since 2003 until now (The effects of terrorism in the Saudi economy, 2008).
The level of the dollar is concerned and the decline is impacts the purchasing power of oil producers

The Role Of Imperialism In Ancient Rome
History has shown the rise and fall of civilizations throughout time. Throughout the ages man has
risen above the rest and then declined down to nothing. The idea that has stuck with man was the idea
to conquer and build and build a utopian city. The birth of imperialistic nations that grew from nothing
and into something formidable. Nations as old as Persia, Macedonia, and even Rome have shown
these views of imperialism as early as ancient times. In ancient times they were large civilizations that
once have been empires that controlled enormously large territories of land because of numerous
reasons.Even in 1858 when England owned India and when Japan went island hopping in the pacific.
Both of these nations demonstrated their power to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The aqueducts were gravity fed. Meaning that they had a slight downward slope in them to allow the
water to slide down towards Rome. When the aqueduct was checked by a surveyor every so often. The
surveyor would use a tool called a chorobates to make sure the slope contains its consistent five
percent to a two percent gradient. The structure of the aqueducts was revolutionary in architecture in
those times because according to David Macauley When the keystone was inserted in the center, the
arch was complete this was essential because the keystone allowed the weight to be evenly distributed
along an arch. This means the Romans would have saved more time and effort building arches rather
than complete wall like bridges. The Romans knew that these pipelines would be an easy target for
any invaders trying to cause Rome to fall. They build these water bridges at variable heights, but
approximately around thirty meters high. So Rome had these massive and long aqueducts running
through Italy, which is kind of amazing, but what really is astonishing his how they built the bridge to
go through hills. They had these hills traveling through the hills for primarily two reasons. First, they
already had the bridge started and the

The Heroic Quest In Vogler s Fifth Business
Fifth Business is a stellar example of a novel that follows the heroic quest pattern, and is easily
examined through an archetypal lens of a hero s quest. To begin, almost every heroic story begins with
some background on the character, to help the audience understand and relate to them. I have noticed
this in all the movies I ve seen and books I ve read, if the storyline is a typical one of heroism .
Although there is a greater example of the heroic arc later on in the story, Dunstable s participation in
World War I also serves as a worthy, if short lived, instance of the heroic quest. Vogler writes that
another important step in the hero s journey to enlightenment is crossing the threshold , typically
occurring at, the end of Act One . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dunstable is faced with trials and enemies in France, having to survive and kill others, similar to how
the sixth stage of the heroic quest is described (Vogler). He is literally rewarded with the Victoria
Cross and returns with his elixir , both of which are described by Vogler as crucial stages in the Hero s
journey. Fifth Business also includes many examples of Jungian archetypes, which are also found in
typical heroic stories. Dunstable represents the archetypal self in many ways. The self does not imply
only the main character, but also all the discoveries they make towards becoming a more developed
person (Jung s). He matures as a character, becomes more in touch with his spirituality, and begins to
understand how the world works. In this way, he becomes more like himself through enlightenment.
While at home and in France, Dunstable encounters several instances of the shadow , another key
Jungian archetype. The shadow is mysterious and evil, often representing a reflection of the Hero s
self

The quest for intimate romance drives us in innumerable ways. This fantasy of a mysterious affection
moves us to better ourselves and enhance our lives. However, even with such a large number of
individuals put resources into a shared objective we appear to battle with this territory of life more
than anything.
Affection is something we as a whole look for, something we as a whole need to feel, to offer and to
hold. Furthermore, I figure that is on account of adoration feels so great, as well as in light of the fact
that affection is our characteristic state. Affection is who we are. Adoration is the thing that we are
made for. Adoration is the thing that we are made for. What s more, when affection is available inside
us additionally around us, we feel at home, we feel like everything is ok.

A Person Who Cares My Friend
A Person Who Cares I am a person who cares deeply about my friend. If anything happens to my
friend, I will do anything I help him. I have one true friend, his name is Ryan, who helps me greatly as
I help him. Being with him is different than being with my other friend. It is because I can be honest
about my feelings with him. Being a friend with him has sometimes gotten me into unusual situation.
For example, I lost my friend in Disneyland and to find him again, to climb a rope with my wrist
sprained, and to care about a person s pride. I was with Ryan and Daniel in Disneyland. After we rode
the Space Mountain, we headed out to eat lunch. Hey, Ryan asked me, where is Daniel? I don t know,
I said to him, he was here just a moment ago. Should we go and find him? Ryan said. No, I told him,
let s wait for a few minutes. We waited for five minutes but we didn t see Daniel. We figured that
Daniel was near where we were and went to eat lunch. Shouldn t we look for him? I said to Ryan. No,
Ryan said to me, he ll be okay. And besides we re hungry. After we ate our lunch quickly, we went to
the Space Mountain again to find him. We looked for him for about ten minutes and we realized that
he might have gone off to another place to look for us. We should go find a teacher and report to them
that Daniel is missing, I told Ryan. As we went to find a teacher, we saw someone familiar walking

views about war, women s rights, gay rights, foreign policy, and many other problems facing our
country. These two presidents have greatly impacted our country since they were in office. Roosevelt

A huge event all of us know was the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. This
officially got us involved in World War II. Although Roosevelt didn t like confliction he announced a
global war. Ronald Reagan was born on February 6, 1911 in Illinois. He attended Eureka College and
studied economics and sociology. As Reagan grew older his political views went from liberal to
conservative. In 1966 he was elected governor of California then re elected in 1970. In 1980 Reagan
won the Republican Presidential nomination then took office on January 20, 1981. He won the
presidential race easily due to the inflation and secret of Americans in Iran. Only sixty nine days later
after he took office he was shot. While Reagan was in office the economy grew, inflation lessened,
employment increased, and national defense was strengthened. He helped the economy by cutting
taxes and government expenses. In 1984, Reagan won a second term due to his brilliance in his first.
At the end of his presidency the nation had the longest period of peacetime prosperity without
recession or depression. Both Roosevelt and Reagan dealt with major events involving foreign affairs.
During Reagans two terms he increased defense spending 35 percent, but sought to improve relations

My Experience In High School
Before graduating elementary and jumping into middle school my homeroom adviser always advises
us to try and enter the school program in this particular high school. The thing is to enter the program
you need to take an entrance exam and get at least 85% on it. The first week of May 2012 my mom
and I went to my elementary school to collect my transcripts that I needed to enroll for grade 7. At that
moment and for the last time I saw my grade 6 teachers. Upon getting my transcripts I can hear my
grade six teachers asking my mom if I will take the entrance exam.
Two weeks later after getting my transcripts, my mother and I went to the high school. The school was
crowded, it was very foreign to me, as I viewed it as I am a small shack in a city full of skyscrapers.
Before enrolling, we talked about trying to take the entrance exam for the program the high school
offers, I agreed. There is no harm in trying anyway, so I will try to give my best just to pass that exam.
Then the day of the entrance exam came. I expected that you can seat wherever you want during the
exam but to my dismay that wasn t the case. The spectators arrange us alphabetically, so being my last
name starts with an A, I was always the first one or if I am lucky the second one to be called. The
spectators were calling our last names one by one, boys were the first one to be called. After all the
boys were called, I got nervous as it is the girls turn to be called. I was called third, and I was placed
in the room where the boys are taking the exam. Along with the two girls that I don t know and who is
sitting in the far front.
During the duration of the exam, I can hear paper shuffling repeatedly. I looked at where the noise was
coming from and lucky enough it was the guy who is sitting beside me. I thought that I can just say a
few words and tell him to stop flipping his paper but I failed, as on the other hand, he thought I am
going to engage in a conversation with him. He began asking me what school I came from, why am I
so pale and that s even questionable because I m not pale, etc. At first, I ignored him hoping that he
will stop talking, he didn t.
Results came, I was very glad that I passed the exam at the same time nervous and I don t

The Legacy Of Lincoln Electric Company
In the movie 300 , the Greek King of Sparta Leonidas, leads his army to face the approaching Persian
hordes. Spartan culture accentuated strength, discipline, and putting the needs of the many above self.
Spartans were feared far and wide for their battle prowess and relentless commitment to mastering the
art of warfare. Lincoln Electric, shares many of the qualities that made Sparta great. It is a company
with a focus on mastery, frugality, industriousness, and a culture that aligns everyone towards
domination of an industry that they have held leadership in for nearly one hundred twenty (120) years.
In fact, as recently as 2014, they were the largest provider in the welding supplies industry, with over
14% global market share (Samani, 2014). 120 Years of Founder Influence Lincoln Electric Company
was founded in 1895 by John C. Lincoln, who was joined by his brother younger brother James in
1907 (Lincoln Electric, Inc., n.d.). From the very beginning these no nonsense brothers set about
building a company that valued its customers first, prioritized frugality, focused on delivering ever
increasing value and lower consumer costs. The company has a borderline fanatical commitment to
achieving competitive advantage through an employee incentive system that drives productivity well
beyond any norms for the industry, or manufacturers as a whole. To this day, the influence of the
founders is clear in the entire structure of the company and its operating philosophies.

Personal Narrative Essay About Surfing
One humid summer night, when I was five years old, I was surfboarding on a kick board in my
grandma s cozy bathtub. The tepid water was about halfway full and everything was going fine

screamed to my Dad, Look, look, I m surfing, I m surfing! My Dad responded, Wow that s amazing,
but be careful not to slip and hurt yourself! Okay I ll be careful! I answered cheerfully back. All of a

Free Radical Chain Reaction Lab
Free Radical Chain Reactions: Bromination of Arenes Post Lab Report Reference: Experimental
Organic Chemistry: A Miniscale and Microscale Approach 6th ed., by Gilbert and Martin, Chapter 9
Discussion: The purpose of the experiment as to explore how different hydrogen functional groups in
hydrocarbons react with bromine through free radical chain substitution. The product is dependent on
the type of hydrogen that is being subjected to the bromination, whether that be aliphatic, allylic,
benzylic, vinylic, acetylenic, or aromatic. By comparing the relative reactivity rates between the
different hydrogens to bromine, a hypothesized ranking of reactivity was made of the provided
hydrocarbons: toluene, ethyl benzene, tert butylbenzene, cyclohexane, and methylcyclohexane. This
hypothesis was then tested during the actual lab period by preparing two sets of reactions for each
hydrocarbon: one in light and one in dark. Observations were noted throughout a thirty minute period
in order to determine the experimental order of reactivity. Free radical chain reactions are one of the
few mechanisms that allow for functional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ethylbenzene was predicted to react first due to the secondary benzylic hydrogens present, the most
reactive hydrogen for the three main hydrogen functional group classifications. Toluene contains
primary benzylic hydrogens, the second most reactive hydrogen. Tert butylbenzene contains primary
aliphatic hydrogens but also an arene ring, allowing for aromatic hydrogens to also be present. This is
why it was ranked above methylcyclohexane in the original proposed ranking. Methylcyclohexane
contains tertiary, secondary and primary aliphatic hydrogens. Cyclohexane contains just secondary
aliphatic hydrogens, justifying its place as the slowest of the hypothesized ranking

Speech Anxiety
MANAGING SEVERE SPEECH ANXIETY
TABLE OF CONTENTS
INTRODUCTION
CURRENT TRENDS AND APPLICATIONS
CONCLUSION
BIBILIOGRAPHY
INTRODUCTION Public speaking is often described as the most common fear in the world. It is also
something that many people are required to do. It may be to give a toast at a wedding, to present a
seminar at work, to make an argument to a local council, to receive an award or to be interviewed by a
board of directors for a job. Public speaking is something few people can avoid and yet it continues to
be a major fear. To understand this fear and how it can be managed and prevented, the issue will now
be looked at in more detail. This will begin with a definition of public speaking anxiety and a
discussion of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These thoughts are then replaced with more positive thoughts. For example, the speaker about to begin
the speech may think to themselves, I am going to bore these people. With cognitive restructuring, the
speaker can instead think to themselves, I am going to make this speech interesting so the audience are
not bored. These cognitive approaches are based on the speaker learning to associate different
emotions to the public speaking activity. Part of these approaches involves individuals exposing
themselves to public speaking situations. A more recent study has added a new means of achieving
this, by allowing the speaker to take part in public speaking situations via virtual reality. The study
concluded that creating a virtual audience the speaker could interact with, was as effective as using a
real audience (Pertaub, Slater Barker). Using these virtual reality environments and creating a virtual
good audience may become a new method of helping the anxious speaker associate good thoughts
with public speaking. For more minor cases of public speaking anxiety, preparation and practice are
common methods of overcoming the problem. Just like many tasks, the more able a person feels about
completing the task, the less anxiety they experience. This sense of being ready and able to complete a
task is achieved by being prepared. Practice is also important, since this makes the individual

Summary Of How The Grinch Stole Christmas
How the Grinch Stole Christmas: Through the Eyes of Marxism
Marxism is the most appropriate type of criticism when analysing the poem, The Grinch Who Stole
Christmas. Marxism is based on the ideas of Karl Marx, who believed that for an ideal future, there
were to be no social classes or inequality. Through the Marxist approach, you are able to understand
why the Grinch is the way he is.
In the poem, it is clear that the Grinch represents the lower class, and the Whos represent the Upper
class. The Grinch lives on a mountain, isolated from Whoville, where the rest of the population lives.
The Grinch has never been able to afford the Who lifestyle, which makes him bitter. Christmas is a
very special time for the Whos: it is all

California Prison Policies
We may question the reason why policies exists. Policies are meant to guide a person or know what to
expect from a situation and how to handle the situation. Policies help protect the rights of individuals
and can as well have certain limitations. (Parnell 2013) There are policies that only apply to certain
individuals and I will cover one policy that does just that. Conjugal Visits also known as Family
Extended Visits is a policy set out to help families keep the bond they once had before the prison

In extended family visitations there is a certain amount of money that goes in to build the unit
housings where the visits take place. As well money is spend to put in furniture like stoves, dining
tables, couches, beds and televisions just to name a few. We can also say the prisons spend money on
gas and electricity bill. The expenses don t only apply to what goes into the little condos. There is
many staff members who make such visitations possible. To start of there can be officers that are in
charge to clean the units before and after every visitation to make sure there is no harm for both the
prisoner and the family members. As well there is correctional officers who specify in checking
everything the family members bring in will be appropriate. As well as checking both the inmate and
family member before and after a visit. There are trained personnel that escort both the prisoner and
family member to the unit. All of the staff of course do the job because they will get a constant pay.
This policy as well provides birth control and contraceptives to prevent any kind of pregnancy along
with any sexual transmitted disease. Some prisons might vary on what they provide to both the
prisoner and the spouse. (Chakraborty, 2014) In New Mexico when they stopped the Extended Family

How Did Bartolome De Las Casas View The Natives
Bartolome de Las Casas was a Spanish colonist and a Dominican friar. His uncles and father were part
of Christopher Columbus second voyage to America. There were rumors of all the gold, spices and
other valuables going around Europe, so the Spanish built small colonies on the island of Hispaniola.
Las Casas in 1502 traveled to the New World to serve as an officer of the king. He was given a group
of Native Americans forced to serve and obey him. However he released his laborers and spent the
rest of his life protecting the Native Americans. Bartolome de Las Casas view of the Native Americans
was quite accurate. Although some of it seemed a bit bias he was mostly precise when describing
them. Las Casas describe the Indians as the most delicate people, weak and of feeble constitution, and
less than any other can they bear fatigue. They were poor and possessed little but that was the thing,

The Power of Machiavelli the Prince Essay
Nowadays, it is politically impossible to commit to paper a training guide for leaders. There are
innumerable detractors to any possible stance or strategy a leader might adopt. As a result of this, all
training must take place behind closed doors, far from the prying eyes and ears of the news media or
the public. But this has not always been the case. Niccolò Machiavelli was brave enough to give the
leaders of his day a how to guide. In this work, The Qualities of a Prince, we are given a point by
point description of what a leader should do to effectively lead his country. Machiavelli explains that,
because leadership is (obviously) a position of command, [war] is the only profession which benefits
one who commands. (p. 33) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What they must now do, is gain all knowledge of the land left to them, so as not to loose it. This is
wonderful, and I will not be the one to say that knowledge of terrain is unimportant. But, it stands to
reason that the lay of the land will do a country little good if there is no need to defend it. Machiavelli
s logic is perfect for the situation of the time. It would do little good to know defense if peace runs as
rampant as war did. If we prepared peace, there would be no need to know defense. There is also the
statement that, to know peace, you must prepare war. Machiavelli states this, again, as he lives through
a ravaged northern Italy and a failing economy. If the Medicis had, in some way, shape or form
prepared just the slightest for these wars, there would be (certainly) less of a problem. Rather, the
Medicis focused on a strong economy, (meaning they made more money) thinking nothing of war.
When war came, they were forced to raise taxes for defense purposes. Machiavelli addresses the
Medici s faults in leadership by stating what should be done. The Cold War is a prime example of
preparation for war s failure. The United States and the USSR were running a huge arms race against
each other. Rather than prosper, as Machiavelli s statement describes, the US fell into debt and the
economy went

The African American Struggle for Civil Rights in the 1960 s
In what ways, and for what reasons, did the African American struggle for civil rights in the United
States change between the early and late 1960s?
The civil rights movement was an influential movement that has been taking place in America for
many years. Victories during this time helped to raise hope for African Americans during this
influential movement. In the beginning of the movement there was a focus on nonviolence, and the
non violent techniques began to pay off in the early 1960s. As the time progressed the struggle for
African Americans during the civil rights in the United States. Towards the ending of the period hope
was lost when major civil rights activists were assassinated. In the early 1960s non violent techniques
began to pay off with sit ins, marches and other forms of protest. For example, on May 4th, 1961, 13
young activists traveled through the south known as the freedom rides. This was nonviolent, and this
was effective. Also, four African American students in North Carolina started a Sit In in a segregated
Woolworth s lunch counter. The students were not served and workers refused to serves them. The
students stayed at the counter because they were allowed to stay there, but were refused service. Many
others in the south protested in similar ways, and 6 months later they were finally served in the diner.
These non violent sit in were effective during this period. Nonviolence became less effective and

Pyramus And Thisbe Similarities Between Romeo And Juliet
The stories of Romeo and Juliet and Pyramus and Thisbe both express star crossed lovers who are

they actually cared for their children. Romeo and Juliet also know that they are not be allowed to
marry each other, so they therefore have to struggle through all these conflicts by themselves, which
then at the end leads them to the worst tragic outcome possible. For example one outcome includes,
Mercutio, Romeo s friend, who dies because of a childish fight that he has brought upon himself

AN OVERVIEW OF MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS 2
Abstract
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory disease of the central nervous system. The
characteristics of MS are demyelination and axonal loss. The etiology of MS is unknown, and there is
no cure. Diagnosis to confirm MS has been complicated but is now improved with acceptance of the
revised 2010 McDonald Criteria. The disease produces numerous physical and mental symptoms
which require both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These lesions, consist mostly of dead nerve cells, whose axons have lost their myelin sheaths that
normally protect them and permit the conduction of nerve impulse.
(Joy JE, Johnston RB, 2001) This immune system attack of the body s own myelin sheath is why MS
appears to be an autoimmune disease. MS is a chronic degenerative disease that usually begins in
young adulthood and destroys muscular control. Most people will live with MS for many years after
their diagnosis. MS reduces life expectancy by only about ten fifteen years, and about half of the
patients survive thirty years or more from onset. (Joy JE, Johnston RB, 2001) Approximately eight
five percent of MS patients begin with relapsing remitting disease, as in optic neuritis, or several
separate systems at the same time, for example, combined motor and sensory problems. Attacks
involving single neural systems are somewhat more common in the first MS relapse. Most patients
experience their second attack within two to three years of the first, but five percent of patients remain
free of relapses for fifteen years or more. In most cases,

French and Indian War Essay
The Seven Years War, or sometimes referred to as the French and Indian war, took place in the year
1754 and finally came to a conclusion in 1763, just prior to the American Revolution. The French and
Indian war is often a war that s importance is overlooked throughout the history of America. The
French and Indian war set the stage for the George Washington to become the most important
American figure in history. The events and battles of the Seven Years War would lead the colonist to
helping the British defeat the French and their counterparts, the Native Americans. What took place
during the Seven Years War would affect the colonist forever. The war would ultimately change the
focus and mindset of the colonist. The colonist would begin to ... Show more content on

After this time of discovery of the North American land, the French often build forts and other
establishments along rivers and bodies of water. These strategic sites were often used to protect their
commercial interest, and often the structures built were forts. Both sides fortified positions along the
Hudson River, Lake George, and Lake Champlain. (Starbuck, 2007). The forts built by the French
during this time in history include, Fort Beaubassin in Acadia and Crown Point on Lake Champlain,
Forts also erected on the Quabache, Ohio, Mississippi and Missouri River (Schwartz, 3). After the
establishment of the French in North America, this leads the British to want to develop the land and
want to protect their very own interest in North America. To protect their interest the British build
forts throughout the North American territory to compete with the French. In 1749, captain Pierre
Joseph Celeron de Plainville set out from Montreal and proceeded to the shores of the Allegheny and
Ohio River demanding that the British traders lower their flags from their trading post and retreat to
the eastern slopes of the Appalachians (Schwartz,6). This would lead to even more issues as a year
continued. When the burden was far too great to overcome the two sides met in Paris. This lead to
nowhere and the stressful relationship over control of Northern America agin grew even greater. On

The Basic Elements Of Tqm Essay
Later, they have realized that TQM is much more than just shop floor improvements. The definitions
of quality incorporate factors like top management commitment, leadership, team work, training and
development, rewards and recognition, involvement and empowerment of employees etc. These
critical factors are the foundation for transformational orientation to create a sustainable improvement
culture for competitive advantage on a continuous basis.
According to Selladurai Raj, TQM interventions or activities must be guided by four change
principles, namely work processes, variability, analysis, and continuous improvement. Product design
and production processes must be improved; variance must be controlled to ensure high quality; data
must be systematically collected and analyzed in a problem solving cycle; and commitment made to
continuous learning by the employees about their work [25].
Different consultants and schools of thought emphasize different aspects of TQM as it has developed
over time. These aspects may be technical, operational, or social/managerial. The basic elements of
TQM, as expounded by the American Society for Quality Control, are 1) policy, planning, and
administration; 2) product design and design change control; 3) control of purchased material; 4)
production quality control; 5) user contact and field performance; 6) corrective action; and 7)
employee selection, training, and motivation.

The Holocaust and Genocide Essay
Why is the killing of 1 million a lesser crime then the killing of one person? (Scream Bloody Murder).
Throughout history groups of people have been killed by ruling powers, but the unlawful acts went
without title until recent events in the
1940ʼs. The mass killings in Germany activated against the Jews created a new word, genocide.
Genocide refers to the widespread murder and other acts committed by governments or other groups
with the intent to destroy in whole or in part a national, racial, religious or ethnic group (Choices
Program 1). This definition was placed by international governments, but the word was developed by
a single man in response to the Holocaust. Grappling for a way to express the magnitude of the ...

The worldʼs foremost superpower, America, has almost never acted to stop a race of people from
being exterminated, even when confronted with overwhelming evidence
(Rusesabagina 137). Itʼs hard to reach out in so many different areas, but itʼs also hard to see countries
allowing genocide to continue when they could help end it. Many lives couldʼve been saved if
America had helped to end the Holocaust, but it chose to avoid the involvement. The world closed its
eyes, closed its ears, and turned its back on what was happening (Rusesabagina 98). The Holocaust
went on for years and people couldʼve chosen to investigate, but instead they left it to its undoing.
World War II and the Holocaust was the result of harsh conditions in Germany after the conclusion of
World War I. The war ended in disaster for the German nation...not only the economy, but the spirit of
the country was destroyed by the
Versailles Treaty of 1919 (Rossel 9). The rules set up for Germany were unfair because fault for war

What Are The Arguments Against Abortion Pro Life
How would you feel if you took away someone s ability to live? All humans have the right to live in
this world. Abortion can cause death to one s pregnancy. Many people think abortion is harmless and
believe it s immoral. Many women decide to have an abortion because they are scared to raise a child,
the future of the child. Some women want to abort because they get raped and they don t want to have
such a large responsibility without the available support. But whatever reason it is, it is never
acceptable to kill an innocent child. Some people would say it s the women s body so it s their choice
if they want to abort. Abortion is a difficult thing to do; a traumatic pregnancy is related to injuries and
death. Abortion has been the biggest ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A woman who decides to have an abortion may think that the fetus cannot experiences pain so
therefore they won t feel anything and suffer during the abortion. The majority of time that women get
an abortion is because they have some important responsibilities and that they can t handle to have a
kid yet. They have some responsibilities such as education, careers, or no one will financed and
support her with the baby. Others may think that abortion is a solution to a bad action.
In conclusion, abortion is wrong for a lot of reasons. A woman should not have an abortion; they need
to think about the consequences that can occur in one s accident. Abortion should be forbidden in this
world because it can kill an innocent baby and it s not fair that millions of babies have to die every

Spy Drones Research Paper
There are many ways the government uses surveillance; one way is by using Spy drones. Spy drones
are used to fly around the United States and check on the country for anything unusual, including drug
activity, border patrol concerns, and other domestic issues. Even though the government claims spy
drones are protecting Americans they are clearly invading privacy and breaking the Fourth
Amendment as well, they should not be used. Spy drones can be really suspicious at times. Just the
thought of someone flying drones over everyone s head without anyone knowing while they take
pictures and videos should motivate everyone to discuss this. Either way, it is invading our privacy
and breaking the Fourth Amendment. The National Security and Law Enforcement officials think it is
okay to listen to phone calls and look at people s e mails. President Obama assured everyone that they
do not listen to our conversations or read our e mails.

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Fibromyalgia
Abstract
Fibromyalgia is a chronic disorder that is characterized by a set of symptoms. These symptoms
include muscle pain, joint pain, and fatigue. It can also lead to depression. Fibromyalgia has been
compared to other disorders such as bursitis and tendinitis. The similarities in signs and symptoms
make it a little difficult to diagnose. Women are most likely to be diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. It is
still unknown as to why Fibromyalgia is more common in women. However, men and children are
still susceptible to the disorder. The cause for Fibromyalgia is relatively unknown. However, there are
indicators that my lead medical professionals to believe that certain factors can lead to Fibromyalgia.
Researchers are currently undergoing tests to determine whether or not a person is predisposed with a
gene that may cause Fibromyalgia. Diagnosing Fibromyalgia in patients is based strictly on the
amount of pain felt by the patient. Treatment of Fibromyalgia can be difficult due to the small number
of doctors who have knowledge of the condition. It is important to seek medical help from providers
who have extensive knowledge of Fibromyalgia such as rheumatologist.

Petric Competition Experiment
Introduction Almost all living things deal with competition, including plants. In order to understand
competition, it is first necessary to understand niche. A niche is a species ecological role in a
community (Brooker et al. 2016). Competition occurs when there is an overlap of the niches this
causes the plants to compete for the limited amount of resources. Competition is an interaction where
both of the parties involved are negatively impacted. There are four main types of competition.
Intraspecific competition occurs between individuals within the same species. Another type is
interspecific competition, which occurs between individuals of separate species. The other two types
of competition depends on how the members are competing. One ... Show more content on

Our results support this hypothesis since when garlic was present in the petri dish there was no
growth, compared to the control where there was growth. This was because of the chemical that garlic
releases, allicin (Djurdjevic 2004). For the second experiment, we hypothesized that the garlic bulb
would have the greatest effect on lettuce seed growth. Our results supported this hypothesis since
there was no growth in the lettuce seeds when the bulb was present. This occurred because the bulb
releases allicin which prevents the uptake of organic substances in the seeds (Djurdjevic 2004).
Therefore, we reject the null hypothesis. The data suggests that our alternative hypotheses were
correct. During our experiment, there were a few possible sources of error. One is the presence of
mold growth in some of the petri dishes. This could have skewed some of the data. Another possible
source of error is that since different students measured each seedling sprouts, they could have
measured differently from the next person. This would cause some of the measurements to be either
too low or too high. The third possible source of error is that the parafilm did not completely seal the
petri dishes. This would have caused the petri dish to dry out and would inhibit growth for the lettuce

Film Analysis Of Spirited Away
Spirited Away is an Oscar award winning, 2001 animated film from Japan, written, directed, and
animated by Hayao Miyazaki (IMDb: Spirited Away). The story follows Chihiro, A young girl who is
dealing with separation from family, tradition, and self identity. Studio Ghibli films often have
younger protagonists in their films, but in an interview with Miyazaki commented that [he] felt
[Japan] only offered such things as crushes and romance to 10 year old girls and that [Studio Ghibli]
has not made a film for 10 year old girls, who are in their first stage of adolescence (Miyazaki 2001).
Here, Miyazaki is signifying the lack of, what he sees to be, a proper presentation of a tweenaged girl.
Miyazaki refrains from making the main plotline ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chihiro is not taken seriously, and this may have been because of her gender. Often times it common
for males to be taken more seriously, especially in children s and tweenager media. This plot point
would create an early internalization that her ideas and values are not as valid as her male
counterparts.
Another instance in which Chihiro is seen without being afforded agency is in her first encounter with
Yubaba. There are multiple instances of the power dynamics that exist between the tween character
and her elder. When Chihiro initially asks Yubaba for a job at the bathhouse, her mouth is transformed
into a zipper that is shut so she can no longer speak (00:36:20). While Yubaba zips Chihiro s mouth
she calls her a useless weakling . This assumption is made from simply looking at her seeing as
Chihiro and Yubaba have had no prior interaction. The forced silencing of Chihiro demonstrates that
she, as a tween, does not have any valuable input, and is therefore limited in her autonomy due to age
and Yubaba s assumptions about her. By calling her a useless weakling, age and gender are the factors
that would be most present. In the bathhouse, Yubaba has many different servants. The work however,
appears to be gendered. The men in the bathhouse are greeters, chefs, and very occasionally are they
the ones who serve other guests in terms of giving them the baths. The women in the bathhouses are
often the ones who serve the food prepared, and service the guests in

A Research Study On The Field Of Psychology

a sense, research is a trial and error approach as researchers are not always cognizant of the results that
a study will provide. However, with sufficient knowledge the researcher can conduct a study, with less
error, should the researcher be aware of a few simple ingredients.
First, as simple as it sounds, knowing whether if a question is sufficient is a good place to start. Once

Decision s Model in Outline Form Is your question adequate and sufficient? This is determined by
figuring out whether if you have put enough thought into your question, if only you can answer the
following 4 questions (Sukal, 2013).
(1). What is your overarching research question? (Sukal, 2013)
Note: According to Sukal (2013), this can be determined by figuring out whether if there are keywords
within the question, such as effects to refer to cause and effect (Sukal, 2013). The word association ,
indicates figuring out if there is a relationship amongst the variables (Sukal, 2013). The word
prediction can signify regression (Sukal, 2013).
(2). How many Independent Variables (IV), Dependent Variables (DV), and covariate variables are in
the study? (Sukal, 2013).
Note: The dependent variable is thought of as the criterion or consequence variable, while independent
variable is thought to be the predictor or the variable that brings out an effect on the dependent
variable (Sukal, 2013). Further, a variable is something a person plans to observe, manipulate, test,

Essay on Memento
Memento
Memento is a movie directed by Chris Nolan. It was released in 2000. The leading actor is Guy
Pearce. Carrie Anne Moss and Joe Pantoliano are also in this movie. Memento is a perplexed thriller.
Leonard, the main character, is excellently played by Guy Pierce. He is constantly confused, yet still
acts in a nonchalant way. Teddy (Pantoliano) and Natalie (Carrie Anne Moss) play puzzling
characters, throughout the whole movie the viewer questions, whether they may or may not be
Leonard s friends.
The characters are not conform the general image of Americans, but that has a lot to do with the fact
the audience does not know whether they should trust Leonard s story or Leonard s friends. Teddy

He lives his life by taking notes and Polaroid pictures, the facts he records in tattoo form all over his
body. Every time he loses his concentration it s as if he has just woken up, he is constantly assessing
his situation. It is a nearly impossible way to live life. The only thing that keeps him going is the idea
of revenge against his wife s murderer.
The way this movie messes with time in the past is not new. Pulp Fiction did it, and many other
movies did, but never like the way Memento has chosen to work it. The movie is broken up into
individual segments, and each one ends where the one before it began. This is confusing, but it does
not take long to understand how the story is going to be told. Nolan wants the audience to feel what it
is like when you cannot make any new memories and cannot trust anyone. That is what Nolan
accomplish, the audience feels like they are in Leonard s shoes. This method Nolan uses creates an
amount of tension and suspense. The audience knows what happened, but now they want to know why
it happened. We learn the bits Leonard forgets. Nolan created a unique movie, blending color and
black and white images and with this technique of filmmaking. It is truly original; the audience will
feel just as confused and lost as Leonard when each scene begins.
In a way this movie is social commentary, in a world that wants people to believe they can trust
everyone the movie shows what it is like when you

Meaning that they had a slight downward slope in them to allow the water to slide down towards Rome. When the aqueduct was checked by a surveyor every so often. The surveyor would use a tool called a chorobates to make sure the slope contains its consistent five percent to a two percent gradient. The structure of the aqueducts was revolutionary in architecture in those times because according to David Macauley When the keystone was inserted in the center, the arch was complete this was essential because the keystone allowed the weight to be evenly distributed along an arch. The Heroic Quest In Vogler s Fifth Business Fifth Business is a stellar example of a novel that follows the heroic quest pattern, and is easily examined through an archetypal lens of a hero s quest. To begin, almost every heroic story begins with some background on the character, to help the audience understand and relate to them. I have noticed this in all the movies I ve seen and books I ve read, if the storyline is a typical one of heroism . Although there is a greater example of the heroic arc later on in the story, Dunstable s participation in World War I also serves as a worthy, if short lived, instance of the heroic quest. • 8. My Experience In High School Before graduating elementary and jumping into middle school my homeroom adviser always advises us to try and enter the school program in this particular high school. The thing is to enter the program you need to take an entrance exam and get at least 85% on it. The first week of May 2012 my mom and I went to my elementary school to collect my transcripts that I needed to enroll for grade 7. At that moment and for the last time I saw my grade 6 teachers. Upon getting my transcripts I can hear my grade six teachers asking my mom if I will take the entrance exam. Two weeks later after getting my transcripts, my mother and I went to the high school. The school was crowded, it was very foreign to me, as I viewed it as I am a small shack in a city full of skyscrapers. Before enrolling, we talked about trying to take the entrance exam for the program the high school offers, I agreed. There is no harm in trying anyway, so I will try to give my best just to pass that exam. Then the day of the entrance exam came. I expected that you can seat wherever you want during the exam but to my dismay that wasn t the case. The spectators arrange us alphabetically, so being my last name starts with an A, I was always the first one or if I am lucky the second one to be called. The spectators were calling our last names one by one, boys were the first one to be called. After all the boys were called, I got nervous as it is the girls turn to be called. I was called third, and I was placed in the room where the boys are taking the exam. Along with the two girls that I don t know and who is sitting in the far front. During the duration of the exam, I can hear paper shuffling repeatedly. I looked at where the noise was coming from and lucky enough it was the guy who is sitting beside me. I thought that I can just say a few words and tell him to stop flipping his paper but I failed, as on the other hand, he thought I am going to engage in a conversation with him. He began asking me what school I came from, why am I so pale and that s even questionable because I m not pale, etc. At first, I ignored him hoping that he will stop talking, he didn t. The company has a borderline fanatical commitment to achieving competitive advantage through an employee incentive system that drives productivity well beyond any norms for the industry, or manufacturers as a whole. Free Radical Chain Reaction Lab Free Radical Chain Reactions: Bromination of Arenes Post Lab Report Reference: Experimental Organic Chemistry: A Miniscale and Microscale Approach 6th ed., by Gilbert and Martin, Chapter 9 Discussion: The purpose of the experiment as to explore how different hydrogen functional groups in hydrocarbons react with bromine through free radical chain substitution. The product is dependent on the type of hydrogen that is being subjected to the bromination, whether that be aliphatic, allylic, benzylic, vinylic, acetylenic, or aromatic. By comparing the relative reactivity rates between the different hydrogens to bromine, a hypothesized ranking of reactivity was made of the provided hydrocarbons: toluene, ethyl benzene, tert butylbenzene, cyclohexane, and methylcyclohexane. This hypothesis was then tested during the actual lab period by preparing two sets of reactions for each hydrocarbon: one in light and one in dark. Observations were noted throughout a thirty minute period in order to determine the experimental order of reactivity. Speech Anxiety MANAGING SEVERE SPEECH ANXIETY TABLE OF CONTENTS INTRODUCTION CURRENT TRENDS AND APPLICATIONS CONCLUSION BIBILIOGRAPHY INTRODUCTION Public speaking is often described as the most common fear in the world. It is also something that many people are required to do. For example, the speaker about to begin the speech may think to themselves, I am going to bore these people. With cognitive restructuring, the speaker can instead think to themselves, I am going to make this speech interesting so the audience are not bored. These cognitive approaches are based on the speaker learning to associate different emotions to the public speaking activity. Part of these approaches involves individuals exposing themselves to public speaking situations. A more recent study has added a new means of achieving this, by allowing the speaker to take part in public speaking situations via virtual reality. The study concluded that creating a virtual audience the speaker could interact with, was as effective as using a real audience (Pertaub, Slater Barker). Using these virtual reality environments and creating a virtual good audience may become a new method of helping the anxious speaker associate good thoughts with public speaking. For more minor cases of public speaking anxiety, preparation and practice are common methods of overcoming the problem. But, it stands to reason that the lay of the land will do a country little good if there is no need to defend it. Machiavelli s logic is perfect for the situation of the time. It would do little good to know defense if peace runs as rampant as war did. If we prepared peace, there would be no need to know defense. There is also the statement that, to know peace, you must prepare war. Machiavelli states this, again, as he lives through a ravaged northern Italy and a failing economy. If the Medicis had, in some way, shape or form prepared just the slightest for these wars, there would be (certainly) less of a problem. Rather, the Medicis focused on a strong economy, (meaning they made more money) thinking nothing of war. When war came, they were forced to raise taxes for defense purposes. Machiavelli addresses the Medici s faults in leadership by stating what should be done. The Cold War is a prime example of preparation for war s failure. Just the thought of someone flying drones over everyone s head without anyone knowing while they take pictures and videos should motivate everyone to discuss this. Either way, it is invading our privacy and breaking the Fourth Amendment. The National Security and Law Enforcement officials think it is okay to listen to phone calls and look at people s e mails. President Obama assured everyone that they do not listen to our conversations or read our e mails. (Fyodor Dostoyevsky) This means that respect always starts from the inside, and if you want to be respected you need self respect. Respect is an admiration for someone s ability, qualities, and achievements. Three people that show respect, due to their actions are Harriet Tubman, Abuelo, and my mom. Harriet Tubman was a courageous woman, who saved over 300 slaves. Tubman was determined to help the slaves in the harsh conditions, which makes her the person others would respect. • 33. Petric Competition Experiment Introduction Almost all living things deal with competition, including plants. In order to understand competition, it is first necessary to understand niche. A niche is a species ecological role in a community (Brooker et al. 2016). Competition occurs when there is an overlap of the niches this causes the plants to compete for the limited amount of resources. Competition is an interaction where both of the parties involved are negatively impacted. There are four main types of competition. Intraspecific competition occurs between individuals within the same species. Another type is interspecific competition, which occurs between individuals of separate species. The other two types of competition depends on how the members are competing. One ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Our results support this hypothesis since when garlic was present in the petri dish there was no growth, compared to the control where there was growth. This was because of the chemical that garlic releases, allicin (Djurdjevic 2004). For the second experiment, we hypothesized that the garlic bulb would have the greatest effect on lettuce seed growth. Our results supported this hypothesis since there was no growth in the lettuce seeds when the bulb was present. This occurred because the bulb releases allicin which prevents the uptake of organic substances in the seeds (Djurdjevic 2004). Therefore, we reject the null hypothesis. The data suggests that our alternative hypotheses were correct. During our experiment, there were a few possible sources of error. One is the presence of mold growth in some of the petri dishes. This could have skewed some of the data. Another possible source of error is that since different students measured each seedling sprouts, they could have measured differently from the next person. This would cause some of the measurements to be either too low or too high. The third possible source of error is that the parafilm did not completely seal the petri dishes. This would have caused the petri dish to dry out and would inhibit growth for the lettuce ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Film Analysis Of Spirited Away Spirited Away is an Oscar award winning, 2001 animated film from Japan, written, directed, and animated by Hayao Miyazaki (IMDb: Spirited Away). The story follows Chihiro, A young girl who is dealing with separation from family, tradition, and self identity. Studio Ghibli films often have younger protagonists in their films, but in an interview with Miyazaki commented that [he] felt [Japan] only offered such things as crushes and romance to 10 year old girls and that [Studio Ghibli] has not made a film for 10 year old girls, who are in their first stage of adolescence (Miyazaki 2001). Here, Miyazaki is signifying the lack of, what he sees to be, a proper presentation of a tweenaged girl. Miyazaki refrains from making the main plotline ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Chihiro is not taken seriously, and this may have been because of her gender. Often times it common for males to be taken more seriously, especially in children s and tweenager media. This plot point would create an early internalization that her ideas and values are not as valid as her male counterparts. Another instance in which Chihiro is seen without being afforded agency is in her first encounter with Yubaba. There are multiple instances of the power dynamics that exist between the tween character and her elder. When Chihiro initially asks Yubaba for a job at the bathhouse, her mouth is transformed into a zipper that is shut so she can no longer speak (00:36:20). While Yubaba zips Chihiro s mouth she calls her a useless weakling . This assumption is made from simply looking at her seeing as Chihiro and Yubaba have had no prior interaction. The forced silencing of Chihiro demonstrates that she, as a tween, does not have any valuable input, and is therefore limited in her autonomy due to age and Yubaba s assumptions about her. By calling her a useless weakling, age and gender are the factors that would be most present. In the bathhouse, Yubaba has many different servants. The work however, appears to be gendered. The men in the bathhouse are greeters, chefs, and very occasionally are they the ones who serve other guests in terms of giving them the baths. The women in the bathhouses are often the ones who serve the food prepared, and service the guests in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Where questions can develop into a research study, which can either solidify, contribute, support, inspire, or provide answers in the field of psychology. In a sense, research is a trial and error approach as researchers are not always cognizant of the results that a study will provide. However, with sufficient knowledge the researcher can conduct a study, with less error, should the researcher be aware of a few simple ingredients. Decision s Model in Outline Form Is your question adequate and sufficient? This is determined by figuring out whether if you have put enough thought into your question, if only you can answer the following 4 questions (Sukal, 2013). (1). What is your overarching research question? (Sukal, 2013) Note: According to Sukal (2013), this can be determined by figuring out whether if there are keywords within the question, such as effects to refer to cause and effect (Sukal, 2013). The word association , indicates figuring out if there is a relationship amongst the variables (Sukal, 2013). The word prediction can signify regression (Sukal, 2013). (2). How many Independent Variables (IV), Dependent Variables (DV), and covariate variables are in the study? (Sukal, 2013). Note: The dependent variable is thought of as the criterion or consequence variable, while independent variable is thought to be the predictor or the variable that brings out an effect on the dependent variable (Sukal, 2013). Memento is a perplexed thriller. Leonard, the main character, is excellently played by Guy Pierce. He is constantly confused, yet still acts in a nonchalant way. Teddy (Pantoliano) and Natalie (Carrie Anne Moss) play puzzling characters, throughout the whole movie the viewer questions, whether they may or may not be Leonard s friends. The characters are not conform the general image of Americans, but that has a lot to do with the fact the audience does not know whether they should trust Leonard s story or Leonard s friends. Every time he loses his concentration it s as if he has just woken up, he is constantly assessing his situation. It is a nearly impossible way to live life. The only thing that keeps him going is the idea of revenge against his wife s murderer. The way this movie messes with time in the past is not new. Pulp Fiction did it, and many other movies did, but never like the way Memento has chosen to work it. The movie is broken up into individual segments, and each one ends where the one before it began. This is confusing, but it does not take long to understand how the story is going to be told. Nolan wants the audience to feel what it is like when you cannot make any new memories and cannot trust anyone. That is what Nolan accomplish, the audience feels like they are in Leonard s shoes. This method Nolan uses creates an amount of tension and suspense. The audience knows what happened, but now they want to know why it happened. We learn the bits Leonard forgets. Nolan created a unique movie, blending color and black and white images and with this technique of filmmaking.
