It is important to have screening tools to help identify people at risk for ASD. Level 2 screening tools are used to differentiate ASD from other behavioral or developmental conditions. This study wanted to test a new parent/caregiver Level 2 screening tool for ASD, the MARA, to distinguish ASD from other developmental/behavioral disorders. The MARA, established by Duda, Daniels, and Wall (2016) was given to parents and caregivers electronically. A total of 222 people participated in the MARA and the clinical visit. It includes seven questions, answered by parents/caregivers, which measure behaviors in children 16 months 17 years of age. The study was performed in a developmental behavioral pediatrician clinic of a large academic medical center. The children being evaluated were at the clinic for their first consultation.
