garment industry displays signs of gradual expansion as opposed to the floral industry which exhibits
a slow and gradual contraction. Little synergy, as compared to the potential, exists in the current
arrangement between the 3 sides of the operation. IT situation The company is served by an IT
infrastructure comprising of an amalgamation of off the shelf software and components and locally
developed applications and middleware. The hardware infrastructure is by and large robust and
capable of withstanding any current operational peaks. The infrastructure employs a high level of
redundancy and good recovery and password management systems, so there is little risk of high
business impact in the case of IT issues. No architecture document exists and minimal change control
is executed. Seven veteran employees remain in the IT department, each specializing in a subsystem
of the infrastructure. Informational silos exist, two additional employees were added to expand the
operation. A team was charged to fully evaluate and understand the inner workings of the current

Thoreau And Keats
A brilliant American poet, Henry David Thoreau, once claimed, This world is but a canvas to our
imagination . This idea that everything can be interpreted differently using creativity is evident in
many of John Keats poems. However, how does Ode on a Grecian Urn reveal the beauty of art? Keats
uses different images of melodies, love, and happiness to show that the idea of true beauty of art is
within the eye of the beholder. The first image that shows how beauty is in the eye of the beholder is
when Keats illustrates a melody without sound. Keats says, Heard melodies are sweet, but those
unheard/ are sweeter (Lines 11 12). Keats is saying that heard melodies are beautiful and great, but a
melody that is imagined is much more powerful. This helps to show how Keats is trying to say beauty
is within the interpretation of the art because the listener can imagine whatever he or she wants to
hear. Keats goes on to say, Pipe to the spirit ditties of no tone , ordering the reader to play music with
no tone or sound (14). This is because he believes that the true beauty of art is in the creativity of the
beholder and that art can be interpreted in many ways. To play a song with no tone or sound, ... Show

To relate to different audiences, Keats says, She cannot fade, though thou hast not thy bliss,/ For ever
wilt thou love, and she be fair! (17). This quote helps to show how Keats is attempting to appeal to
different audiences because he is so vague on the topic of love. This vagueness allows the reader to
relate and picture an ideal relationship where the girl s beauty never fades. The idea of true beauty is
different to everyone and Keats writes about different audiences to appeal to many different types of
people. By allowing different interpretations on an image, Keats enables the reader to see the true
beauty in his poem by having them relate and use their

Personal Statement For Electrical Engineering
Personal Statement: Twenty years of education have brought me a deep appreciation for the study of
the Power systems, Controls systems and Telecommunication. When the time came to specialize, my
decision to major in Electrical Power Engineering was motivated by the hope of achieving a strong
opportunity of creativity, research, and development. Electrical Engineering, with its myriad sub
domains and multi faceted nature is a natural amalgamation that allows me to express my creativity
and innovative power to bring about works that offer benefits to society. The tools and aims may be
different, but designing and developing software/hardware or devising a novel mathematical proof is
relatable to the work of artists in their shared spirit of creating. I view my decision to study Electrical
Engineering as a natural means of fulfilling my need to create since it equips me with tools for the job:
the ability to devise, test and evaluate Power systems and the programming knowledge required to
implement them.
A natural avenue for me to utilize my creative bent was the field of entrepreneurship. In the year prior

The Importance Of Liberal Education
Education nowadays is typically seen merely as something students must endure before they enter the
real world. Students who ace all of their classes are looked upon with admiration and promised that
they will go far in life. While grades are an important part of the educational system, simply learning
facts in school is not all that it takes to be a contributing member of society. William Cronon makes
excellent points in his article Only Connect... in which he lists the ten qualities he believes are
required for a person to be liberally educated. Based on this list, I don t feel as though I am where I
could be at this point in my academic career. While I can claim to excel with certain qualities like
listening intently and being able to talk with anyone, there are many aspects that I am unable to relate
to, such as being able to write clearly or solve a variety of puzzles. By understanding the importance
of a liberal education, hopefully we, as a society, can learn to connect with others and make a
difference in our communities, and ultimately our world. Based on Cronon s list, it would be difficult
to attain each and every one of these qualities. He even states at one point that a liberal education is
not something any of us ever achieve... While it may not be an acquirable goal, it is something that we
should strive for in order to better ourselves and those around us. In my own life, I struggle with the
second aspect of these qualities, being able to read and

An Analysis Of Alice Walker And Kate Chopin
Heritage, a lot of people see it as being only the past, with no significance to their everyday lives
whatsoever, others see it as merely objects and money passed down from older generations to their
younger generations, but really heritage means much more than that. Ones heritage is the lessons
learned from elders and passed down to their children and grandchildren to help them not make the
same mistakes they made before, heritage is the roots that makes a person who they are. The world
without recollection of its s heritage, is a world without progress, a world that only stands still waiting
for the same missteps to cycle back around. A person with no knowledge of their heritage is a person
with no knowledge of themselves, and not knowing one s self can lead to mishaps directing that
individual down a path they would otherwise be able to avoid with a keen understanding of where
they originate. Alice Walker and Kate Chopin both touch on the struggles and outcomes of not
knowing or taking advantage of one s heritage through their stories Everyday Use and Desiree s baby.
In both of the stories, the antagonist Dee/Wangero, and Armand has problems with whom they truly
are because of their lack of knowledge and acceptance of who they truly are. The misfortune of not
appreciating one s heritage is clearly identified in Alice Walker s Everyday Use. The character used to
demonstrate the tragedies that follows one who doesn t treasure their heritage throughout the story is

Art Within Cave Dwellings Dating
One of the earliest evidences of the belief in a higher power comes from deep within the Lascaux
Labyrinth , a deep cave decorated by our Paleolithic ancestors in the stone age, seventeen thousand
years ago (Armstrong 2). The great numbers and locations of art within the Lascaux and surrounding
region gives evidence that these were sacred places for the purpose of rituals, and some have
compared these dwellings to temples (Armstrong 3). Whether art within cave dwellings dating back to
the Paleolithic era, to magnificent churches rising to great heights around the world, the wondrous
temples of the Mayans, a mountain that appears to seamlessly morph into the city of Machu Picchu, to
trailers, tents and fortified compounds, belief in a power higher than one s self has been deeply
ingrained throughout centuries and a multitude of cultures. These different places are what many refer
to as a church, a place to record and follow the rituals specific to their belief and to worship. Through
the generations of the development of the human psyche, belief in a higher power is taught young and
ingrained for many, yet meaningless for some. Furthermore, throughout the evolution of many
centuries, it is inevitable that branches of these religions will follow a different path, create new
churches to better practice their views of religion, and for some, belief in a higher power can be
contorted to the preaching s and worship of hate. There is a fine line between preaching scriptures and

Spring Prompt 2016 Greta Slaats
One day I was taking a hike in the Himalayan mountains and came upon a big wall of stone blocking
the path. In the middle of the stone wall was a round little door with a key hanging on a hook beside it.
Being cautious I crept up to the door and knocked. I don t know who would have answered the door if
someone had answered. I was puzzled and stuck to the spot thinking of what to do. I decided to walk
back to my village way down below and come back tomorrow to see if the wall was still there. When I
got home I ran straight to the town square to go to my father s workshop. I told Papa all about my
journey in the mountains. He warned me of animals that would take me away to the darkest corners
and eat me up. Just then Tijana came running into the store. There is a tiger in the rice fields! he
shouted. Every once in awhile the wild beasts from the jungle would come into the valley in which the
village sat. Our bravest men would shoot arrows and protect us. When the creature went away or was
dead we would celebrate, but that never ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

because we didn t speak the whole way down. After I had dropped Tijana off at his house I decided to
go up to the door again. Tijana was not coming with me for he was to much of a burden. Once I got up
to the door I heard growling and there was a tiger right about 25 yards away from me. I froze because
he could have killed me right then and there. The only option was to go through the door so I took that
way out. Slowly, I grabbed the key and unlocked the door and in one swift motion I quickly slipped

Drowning In Fresh Water Vs Salt Water Research Paper
Drowning Victims in Fresh water vs. Salt Water Can drowning get any worse? If you consister
drowning in fresh water compared to drowning in salt water, it really can. If you know about cell
transportation and osmosis; you could infer which would be more trematic, and the diffrences between
drownding in fresh water compaired to salt. In drowning cases people dont really die from oxygen
loss, its by a much faster process known as osmosis. Osmosis is the movement of water across a
membrane from a low concentration to an area with high concentration (Boundless). Osmosis takes
place durning passive transportation, which is a process of cell tranportation. So when people drown
weather it is in fresh water or salt water it is osmosis that is what mainly causes the death. First lets
consider the worse option, which would be drowning in fresh water. In terms of osmosis whenever
there is a disturbance in the concentraion levels, water will do anything until it has reach equalibrium.
Since fresh water is more dulute compared to the water ions in your lung cells, when water starts
rushing into your lungs it imediantly starts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

To sum it up the effects to the potato strips were the same effects as the blood cells in the drowned
victims. The hypotonic ones swelled up and gained water, while the hypertonic ones shriveled up and

Municipal Solid Waste Landfills In The United States
The world population is around 7 billion people and every person produces about 4.4 pounds of waste
per day. More people will lead to the increase of wastes products and then will increase the risk of
environmental issues. Today, the world able to recycle only 30% of waste products. According to
Environmental Protection Agency Approximately 55% of 220 million tons of waste generated each
year in the United States ends up in one of the over 3,500 landfills. Municipal solid waste landfills are
the second largest source of human related methane emissions in the United States, accounting for
approximately 22 percent of these emissions in 2008

The Loopholes Of Wal Mart
Loopholes in Wal Mart Management
Introduction of Wal Mart
As the world s biggest retailer, the Wal Mart s history is a story about innovation, leadership and
success. Sam Walton established the Wal Mart in 1962 (Michael, 2009). On October 31, 1969, it was
incorporated and listed on the New York Exchange in 1972 (Michael, 2009). Wal Mart grew from a
single store in Rogers, Arkansas in 1962 to the world s largest retailer, which operates over 11,000
retail units under 71 banners in 27 countries (Wal Mart s official website, 2014). In addition, the Wal
Mart employs 2.2 million associates around the world, which equals to the population of 50 smallest
countries combined (Andy, 2012). With its advanced cross docking inventory system, good
relationship with factories, Wal Mart has achieve economics of scale and got a big market share.
Food Safety Problems in Wal Mart, China
Although Wal Mart has achieved success in many aspects, some loopholes arise in Wal Mart
management. Firstly, the Wal Mart is under fire in China for allegedly dismissing four workers who
accused by the company of selling expired food (Hayley, 2014). Food safety has always been an issue
in China; for example, counterfeit baby formula, adulterated pickled vegetables, and counterfeit
alcoholic drinks. In these situations, merchants are not the only one at fault, but also the Chinese
government and the law. In order to attract more foreign investments, some local governments have

How To Write A Journal Of A Mentor Surgery Center

Tracy was really worried about their exit diagrams around the hospital that they aren t up to code. So
when I was reading I focused on finding out about the exit diagrams. So you re probably wondering
what an exit diagram is so let me explain. When you walk into any hospital or surgery center really
any building you will see a picture on the wall saying, You are here on what looks like a picture
hanging on the wall. So the rule in the handbook about fire safety is that the surgery center has to have
one in every part of the building, the bigger the building the more exit diagrams the facility needs to
have. So as I got to reading in the handbook it made it very clear that these exit diagrams should be
easy to read and understand. So after I read that part I took a walk around the facility just to see what
their exit diagrams even looked like. I hadn t paid much attention to this so I was curious to see what
they looked like. As I walked around the facility looking at the different exit diagrams the more I felt
like they were the furthest from easy to understand. So after I was done taking my walk around the
surgery center I went into Tracy s office she asked me what I read and what I had focused on in the
reading today. So I told her about the exit diagrams and what they needed to pass code for when they
get surveyed in the upcoming months. I asked her to come with me so I could show her some things,
we then took a walk around the facility I asked her how easy she thought these exit diagrams were to
read. Tracy looked at me and said you know I ve never really looked at the exit diagrams because I
know this place like the back of my hand, I ve been here for so long she said to me. So I asked do you
understand this or think it is easy to read, she said no, to be honest with you it is very confusing. So
after that, I told her how there need to be two points

Michelangelo always saw himself as a sculptor, even though some of his most famous works are his
paintings and architecture. In Michelangelo s words, Painting is beautiful in the measure that it
approaches sculpture; sculpture is bad the more it approaches painting . In fact, when Pope Julius II
ordered Michelangelo to decorate the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in fresco, Michelangelo rebelled.
The Sistine Chapel is an example of Michelangelo s impatience with others as previously mentioned.

Forests Are Very Important For The Environment
Intro:
Forests are very important for the environment. The importance of forests cannot be underestimated.
We depend on forests for our survival, from the air we breathe to the wood we use. Forests also
provide a habitat for a vast array of plants and animals, many of which are still undiscovered. They
also supply the oxygen we need to survive. Forests are a home to many endangered species but forests
are also endangered due to these species. For example the red deer eats just about any plant that they
can reach, therefore is a threat to forests and saplings. Any of the forest trees that thrive in mature
forests cannot survive on bare, exposed sites. In the forest, they are protected from wind, desiccation
(drying out) and the extremes of temperature. Forests start off as young trees (also known as saplings).
They then grow and develop into forests. Many physical and biological components influence forest
trees. Individual sapling and tree growth and vigor are determined by a variety of physiological and
external effects, such as age, available light, water, and nutrients. Since tree crowns are a component
of forest ecosystem structure, they directly affect the composition, processes, and vigor of the
understory plant and animal components of the forest. The height of the crown reflects the general
health of the tree therefore would need to be tall in order for the tree to survive. There are a number of
forest restoration groups who are helping to restore native forests

Segregation Depicted In The Film Red Tails
Red Tails describes the tremendous amount of plights that many African American pilots had to go
through during World War II. It demonstrates the extreme amounts of segregation between those
involved in the American Airforce and those involved in the Tuskegee Airmen. Red Tails demonstrates
how only the African Americans were segregated, they were forced to train differently, learn
differently, and be on separate bases. As the movie clearly showed the Tuskegee Airmen were given
many hand me downs and very little respect for protecting their country. One example of this behavior
in the movie was when one African American pilot went to a saloon that was filled with white pilots.
When he walked in the room went quiet for a second, but was then filled with hateful words and
phrases being thrown at him. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

combat. Thankfully the study was very wrong because the Tuskegee Airmen were a major factor in
United States victory. Without the Tuskegee Airmen, the American Air Force would not have been as
successful on their missions. The movie shows how the American Airforce had more success in
missions when the Red Tails came with and protected them from Nazi Germany planes. Red Tails
shows the importance of the Tuskegee Airmen and how the segregation was wrong. It proves the point
to those who weren t there that the African Americans were still treated differently and segregated, it
shows the hardships of being an African American pilot. Because of the Tuskegee Airmen and their

she was in the Peace Corp and taught in Jamaica a few years back. Before Mr. Ezzard was accepted

she would say no, he d ask her if she wanted to have lunch, because he was in Boston, where she was.
Her response to almost every offer was No, maybe next time. On a typical morning, Mr. Ezzard called

1994 1996 he went to Micronesia, and in 1997 1998 he went to the Solomon Islands. He found this the
perfect opportunity to ask Becky out again. This time, she said Sure. She told her workers that she d

not inherited. The deletion occurs most often as a random event during the forming of the reproductive
cells or in the early fetal development. Affected people typically have no history of the disorder in
their family. 1 of every 50,000 babies are diagnosed at birth with Cri du Chat. All races are equally
likely to develop this syndrome. It is more likely in females by a 4:3 ratio. In recent studies it was

Diffusion And The Concentration Of Diffusion

This is all a part of a cell s osmoregulation. Osmoregulation means the physiological processes that an

water, it will increase, this is because of osmosis and how diffusion works. First, The egg will be
placed in vinegar for two days to expose a semipermeable membrane. All changes will be recorded.
Next, egg will then be placed in corn syrup for twenty four hours, and all changes will be recorded.
Finally the egg will be placed in water for twenty four hours and any changes will be recorded

In The Bissula Analysis
In his pioneering work, The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, Edward Gibbon
writes that the poetical fame of Ausonius condemns the taste of his age. Indeed, Ausonius s work may
seem uncomplicated on the surface: he borrows heavily from previous literature and uses
straightforward syntax. However, his work contains depth beyond its ostensible simplicity: it blends
genres and uses consistent themes as narrative foci to guide the reader. In two of his most prominent
poems, liquid (as water and drink) is the key interpretive control: In the Bissula, alcohol provides
wisdom that counters the confining seriousness of sobriety, while in the Moselle the river provides
calm comfort that contrasts with the hectic unnatural world. Throughout both poems, Ausonius
consistently uses liquid to contrast the serenity and clarity provided by water and drink with the chaos
of the dry world. In the Bissula, alcohol plays a key role as the interpretive control. Ausonius
addresses the reader directly, proclaiming that his poems are unserious. He writes that I follow
Thymele (4), classifying his work as relaxing entertainment more than serious literature. Indeed, he
requests that the reader drink before you read (6) in order to best understand the poem. While alcohol
is typically associated with confusion and dulled wit, Ausonius claims that the drunk reader will get
wise to me (8). With this subversion of expectations, Ausonius proclaims drink as a tool to achieve

Charlie-Personal Narrative
I sit on a scuffed wooden bench in the company of a lone stroller. Charlie is tucked inside, sleeping
peacefully. I woke up early this morning for no reason in particular. Perhaps I m subconsciously still
trying to make up for lost time, being with Charlie and soaking up as much sunlight as possible. The
entire town had longed for anything but a gray sky since the beginning of winter and today was finally
that day. Spring was coming. The last of the snow has slowly melted away, along with everyone s
puffy coats and holiday spirit. Although this morning began quite nippy, any chill disappears as the
sun rises higher in the sky. Today, I watch the small town awake and begin it s normal early morning

Cultural Relatedness Paper
Relatedness is the socially recognized ties that connect people in a variety of different ways. It
attempts to understand and record the ways in which people in specific ethnographic contexts
articulate and engage in the relationships that are important to them in everyday life. Relatedness can
take many forms such as friendship, marriage, parenthood, shared links to a common ancestor,
workplace association, just to name a few. These forms can be shared via many different means as
well. They can be shared physically by a body substance such as blood, semen, genes, or mother s
milk. It can be through spiritual means such as soul, spirit, nurturance, or love. You can also have
cases where more than one substance is shared.
2. There are two major strategies humans have used in constructing patterns of descent. The first
strategy involves the descent group being formed by people who believe they are related to each other
by connection made though their mothers and fathers equally. Essentially they believe that they

The Career Of A Hedge Fund Manager
George Soros, a significant hedge fund manager, made a considerable return of one billion dollars in a
single day by taking advantage of the English Pound and selling it a favorable time. This is considered
by many financial analysts to be one of the most exceptional investments of all time. Instances such as
the latter are not rare in the profession of hedge fund managing. These individuals look over hedge
fund portfolios, which often use high risk methods in order to achieve an exceptional return on an
investment in spite of the current market conditions. Even though the career of managing hedge funds
is competitive and high risk, the potential salary and benefits that are available with this quickly
growing career is a stimulus in regards to the need for more investors in the market. The career of a

students are assigned homework. Homework is continuously used by schools because of the potential
benefits it can offer students. Most of the time when people talk about benefits of homework they talk
about academic benefits, however there is also nonacademic benefits. When students are given
homework students must take it upon themselves to make sure they complete it. Through this they
learn an important tool that is necessary in life, time management. Cooper emphasizes that homework
can also lead to students improving their self direction, self discipline, and self organization. When
students take it upon themselves to get their work done they improve their independent problem
solving skills, which can help them both in school settings and out in the world. Homework helps
build students characters as well as improve their academic skills. Homework might appear to be
beneficial when studies show students who do homework do better academically, however, there is a
point at which homework has a negative effect on students. The purpose of homework is to reinforce
the learning that takes place in school or prepare children for forthcoming lessons, which in theory,
sounds ideal. But, research on homework has indicated otherwise. Apparently, too much is detrimental

Freeman vs. Friedman In their theories of how a business should operate, R. Edward Freeman and
Milton Friedman hold virtually opposite beliefs as to what businesses responsibilities should be. In
favor of the Stakeholder theory, Freeman believes that any person or organization that has a stake in
the business should also play a role of participation in the business s actions and decisions. In the other
corner of the ring stands Milton Friedman, who holds the belief that said business is only responsible

Nowadays, after the passing of several bills constraining the actions of corporations, acting in a
similar manner would pose several legal and ethical issues. This is why, Freeman argues, this ancient
idea of managerial capitalism is no longer effective. After bashing the old idea of managerial
capitalism, Freeman starts explaining why his reconceptualized stakeholder concept is much more
logical. Freeman modestly articulates a stakeholder theory using the narrow definition of a
stakeholder, which includes those who are vital to the success and survival of a corporation.
Specifically, these stakeholders include owners, management, suppliers, employees, customers, and
the local community. As well as being directly connected with the corporation, Freeman argues that
the stakeholders are also interconnected with each other as well, and that each stakeholder is vital to
the survival of the corporation, and vice versa. Employees rely on the business to give them a
paycheck; the business provides their livelihood. Employees return the favor because they run the
business on a day to day basis. Suppliers are vital to the firm s success because the quality of the raw
materials purchased will determine the quality and price of the final good produced by the firm. As a
result, the firm is a customer of their supplier, and is therefore vital to their supplier s success. The

Ethical decision making skills are important in our everyday lives because we are constantly making
decisions on something, whether it s deciding on what you will do on a day to day basis or if it s
dealing with a situation that must be resolved. Having the ability to affectively make the best decision
possible for any situation by gaining ethical decision skills and putting them to use are essential for
everyone. When a person is involved with sports, they are constantly learning and practicing ethical
decision making skills because there are always decisions that must be made. Whether the situation is
between two teammates or dealing with calls in game situations, there are always decisions being
made. Being a participant in sports, an individual obtains personal and social values and behaviors.
This is where an individual builds close relationships through the experience of being apart of a team.
Within the building of close relationships in sports, a person learns how to work effectively in group
settings. Individuals gain and learn the importance of handling different situations and viewing them
in a strategic way when resolving a conflict.
Other features of an individual having good character are honesty, integrity and ethical behavior.
These characteristics are brought about through being a participant of a sport because when an athlete

Ever since the history of Earth has been studied using fossil records, extinctions have always been the
object of fascination and interest, particularly the mass extinctions that occurred throughout Earth s
history. A mass extinction can be caused by disruptive global environmental changes, where large
numbers of species have become extinct (Urry et al. 2008). There have been five major extinctions
documented based on fossil records over the past 500 million years, but the Cretaceous (KT boundary

According to the research made by Alvarez (1980), it was due to an asteroid impact that single
handedly destroyed dinosaurs to extinction. Advocacy of this mechanism has been aided by the
availability and tangibility of supporting evidence in the form of impact craters the Chicxulub crater in
the Yucatan Peninsula s date and timing of impact (dating produced an almost exact date of 65 million
years ago), location, enormous size 170 km (Hildebrand et al.1991) and its high iridium content ( a
metal not commonly found at the Earth s surface) make it seem that with a theoretical asteroid 10 km
big caused the crater great damage at the end of the Cretaceous (Alvarez et al. 1980).
How exactly the asteroid damaged the Earth remains unclear, but the power released by such an
impact is unquestionable. Effects possibly include reduced sunlight over a period of several months
which possibly led to the decline or even total halt of primary production (via photosynthesis). One of
the dominant signatures of the extinction at the KT boundary was the low activity of primary
production, the possibility of reduced sunlight is high (Schulte et al. 2010) . Even if the primary
production proved to be on a decline when this impact occurred, there is still some uncertainties as to
where exactly the impact hit. This was why asymmetries in subsurface features of the Chicxulub crater
were observed via geophysical methods were analyzed and it was calculated from estimates that the

Propagand Like A Good Neighbor
Like A Good Neighbor Our society has used different forms of advertisements, commercials, and
propaganda since even before the 20th century. Propaganda is described to be information that is
usually misleading or uninformed, that tends to be used to promote political views or to persuade a
consumer into buying a sellers product. According to Ann McClintock, propaganda is the systematic
effort to influence peoples opinions, to win them over to a certain view or side. Overtime with the
advancements of technology, forms of propaganda and advertisements have changed, but the end
result has always been the same, as well as the goal to get the consumer to buy the goods. There are
many propaganda techniques that advertisers use. Name Calling, Glittering Generalities, Transfer,
Testimonial, Plain Folks, Card Stacking, and Bandwagon are the seven propaganda techniques.
Companies use these techniques to persuade people to buy their products and to trust the company.

also tested positive for melamine. Due to consumption of melamine laced milk products, more than

The Art Of Art Reflection
While visiting the SCAD museum of Art I came across an extraordinary piece of art that caught my
eye.You Diserve it mama!! by, Aaron Fowler this art piece caught my eye for many reasons. One being
it was a tribute to his mom.Secondly I liked the way the artist used everyday items to create this piece.
The Art piece was very visual with the mom cooking and cleaning Fowler used cloths for her clothing
and newspaper cutouts for the pots and pans she was using to cook.He used iron boards to display the
mom and husband in their house, the husband looks as he is walking in from somewhere with their
dog next to him.Fowler was very creative with the way he designed the piece the everyday items and
the iron board had the feels of home and the way he betrayed the house with a fireplace and a painting
above it. The scenery looks as if its a real house with it looking messy and very decorative. Aaron
Fowler is an amazing artist greatly inspired by Jacob lawrence.Fowler is just now an uprising artist
from moving into his east Harlem studio in early 2015 and his work soon being known and reflecting
his great talent.Aaron Fowler was born in St.Louis before moving to New York. In his early years he

The Argument Of The Chinese Room ( CR )
The Chinese Room (CR) is a thought experiment intended to prove that a computer cannot have a
mental life with a strong sense of intelligence alike to one that humans possess because a computer
does not have a genuine understanding. Rather, a computer is a mere simulator of understanding, and
by extension, a simulator of intelligence. According to John Searle, because computers lack a true
understanding they are rendered incapable of possessing mental life as we know and experience it
(Searle 2004). In the following paper, I intend to explain and philosophically examine John Searle s
argument of CR and will then proceed to reject his theory based on a series of objections. I will do this
by examining the concept of human intelligence through a filmic analogy, put forth the Systems Reply
objection, and examine how the CR argument is foregrounded in anthropocentric bias that
presupposes only humans are capable of true intelligence. Overall, I argue that CR fails to
convincingly argue that only humans can possess a human intelligence because it is an argument
based more on intuitive claims, than sound reasoning. As promised, I begin by outlining the main crux
of the Chinese Room argument. If you imagine a sealed room where through a slot you can submit
questions written in Chinese and you can receive answers in Chinese, your inclination is more than
likely going to be to assume that whomever resides within the room understands, and is able to,
communicate in Chinese.

Demon Lover
Demon Lover is a story that gives an opportunity to the reader to chose between reality and fiction.
The story provides enough information to believe the lover is actually a paranormal being. I believe it
is a paranormal being that follows the lady from the story because of the all the evidence it provides.
At first we are told the lover made the lady an eternal or a promise out of this world. As well, the story
says that no human eye was watching her. This piece of evidence is really important because it makes
the reader think and relate the title of the story with a question of whether the lover is human or indeed
a demon. Later on the story, the letter she received made the reader think about the coincidence she
found. The day she read the

Essay on Bus310 Accounting Theory and Accountability
BUS310 ACCOUNTING THEORY AND ACCOUNTABILITY WORKSHOP 1 SOLUTIONS 1)
GHHT: Chapter 1: Theory in Action 1.1 The article describes how a particular theoretical approach
has been replaced by another. Explain why one theory replaces another, and who, or what, determines
whether an existing theory survives. A theory is primarily meant to explain or predict an event,
behaviour or outcome. Proponents of a theory look for evidence to support the theory. This evidence
should be independently observed and consistent after repeated observations. Some theories are
speculative or ideas or guesses floated to encourage researchers to undertake the observations required
to prove or disprove the theory. The question often debated is what comes ... Show more content on

2. Does the reintroduction of a theory mean that it should not have been replaced in the first place?
Theories about how the economy works and what will happen in the economy where there is
monetary policy or fiscal policy intervention are appropriate in assisting policy makers understand the
possible implications of decisions they make or are under consideration. However, they are rarely
complete models and often outcomes cannot be predicted. Reintroduction of a theory suggests that
new evidence in support of the theory has been reported. 3. Should a theory be discarded if it does not
specify the means of achieving a stated objective? Explain your answer. The theory itself doesn t have
to specify the means of achieving a stated objective; however, it has to provide a sound basis for
explaining, defining and predicting behaviour. The application of the theory can have many elements
and it is in the interpretation of what will induce the predicted effects in the economy predicted by the
theory which will result in predicted or other stated outcomes. Q2) Readings 1. Principal images that
have shaped the development of accounting theory: Historical record: One of the early objectives of
historical cost accounting was stewardship. This meant that financial reports were a report on how
well management had safeguarded the

The Importance Of Fighting For Human Rights
When thinking about human rights is it really essential to defend and protect these rights? Mother
Jones, Gandhi, and Emma Watson found defending human rights essential. Emma Watson is a woman
who fought for women s rights, Gandhi fought for racial rights, and Mother Jones fought for workers
rights. These three people helped to enact change by becoming successful leaders, being brave, and
cared for people as they took a stand no matter what they thought could happen to them for standing
up.
Mother Jones is a persistent, brave, and successful person and truly cares about these workers and
their rights. For example Josephson states Mother Jones wanted the president to get Congress to pass a
law that would take children out of the mills, mines, and factories, and put them in school. This was
Mother Jones s motivation to fight for human rights and shows that she wants the best for these
children (as she is their benefactor), so she is willing to fight for these children. Josephson continues
with At first, police told the group they couldn t enter the city...Mother Jones invited the police to stay
for lunch. The children gathered around the cooking pot with their tin plates and cups. The policemen
smiled, talked kindly to them, and then allowed them to cross the bridge into Trenton. Mother Jones
knows she could be in danger if she tries to defy these officials, but she is courageous and persuades
the policemen to let her and her children in. This is also something

Informative Essay On Kelseyton Manning
There is a quote that I feel connected very well: The universe is always speaking to us...sending us
little messages, causing coincidences and serendipities, reminding us to stop, look around, to believe
in something else, something more. In order for us to connect to the world we all have to understand
that more than we think is connected, if we think about it everything can be connected in some way.
Specifically this essay will ultimately connect NFL superstar Peyton Manning all the way to why the
birth cycle we have came to exist. A perfect Sunday afternoon watching the greatest NFL Quarterback
in history, Peyton Manning. Peyton Manning is probably not only my favorite Quarterback, he won
many fans over. His success was part of it winning two Super Bowl and five NFL MVP (most
valuable player) awards. He was not just a good football player, he was a great one: Pro football

Just because he was sidelined does not mean he was not going to be the same player, actually he came
back better than ever. He was released and signed by the Denver Broncos, but in 2014 he one another
award, Comeback Player of the Year. Denver was not done with him yet either, the very next year
Manning passed Brett Favre (Green Bay Packers legendary Quarterback) for most pass touchdowns
and most passing yards. (Peyton Manning Biography). As Peyton grew older retirement was near, but
again that did not stop him, in 2016 his final year his Denver Broncos defeated the Carolina Panthers
in Super Bowl 50. Although it was a sad day when Peyton retired, but he did leave the NFL with
memorable statements: After 18 years, it s time. God bless all of you, and god bless football. (Peyton
Manning Biography). Maybe Peyton Manning is not your favorite Quarterback but the stats and
highlights are there, he is a football legend and will be for a long time. After his retirement Peyton
Manning could have needed a vacation and I think that he should go to

Pros And Cons Of Medical Technology
After careful consideration given to the pros and cons of technology, I have arrived at the conclusion
that advanced technology is, indeed, far greater than the absence of the technology we have acquired,
and which we will continue to acquire. Medical technology, for example, for what brings to mind is
the Da Vinci Robotic Surgeon, which can perform very delicate procedures such as brain surgery. It is
designed to facilitate complex surgery using a minimally invasive approach, and is controlled by a
surgeon from a console. The system is commonly used for Prostatectomies, and increasingly for
Cardiac Valve Repair and Gynecologic surgical procedures. According to the manufacturer, the
American company Intuitive Surgical. the Da Vinci System is called Da Vinci in part because
Leonardo Da Vinci s, study of human anatomy eventually led to the design of the first known
automaton in history. Additionally, through robotics, many surgical procedures are now performed
using lasers. Before this technology, patients were subjected to large surgical incisions, leaving
enormous scars. Now, however, the laser surgeries are successfully performed and they have even cut
patients hospital stays shorter or even on an outpatient basis. Additionally, advanced prosthetic limbs
can give an amputee almost the same range of movement as human arms, legs and other various body
parts. The Tmsuk Enryu T 52 Manriquez 2 援竜, Des. Rescue Dragon is a Japanese invention that is a

  • 4. Thoreau And Keats A brilliant American poet, Henry David Thoreau, once claimed, This world is but a canvas to our imagination . This idea that everything can be interpreted differently using creativity is evident in many of John Keats poems. However, how does Ode on a Grecian Urn reveal the beauty of art? Keats uses different images of melodies, love, and happiness to show that the idea of true beauty of art is within the eye of the beholder. The first image that shows how beauty is in the eye of the beholder is when Keats illustrates a melody without sound. Keats says, Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard/ are sweeter (Lines 11 12). Keats is saying that heard melodies are beautiful and great, but a melody that is imagined is much more powerful. This helps to show how Keats is trying to say beauty is within the interpretation of the art because the listener can imagine whatever he or she wants to hear. Keats goes on to say, Pipe to the spirit ditties of no tone , ordering the reader to play music with no tone or sound (14). This is because he believes that the true beauty of art is in the creativity of the beholder and that art can be interpreted in many ways. To play a song with no tone or sound, ... • 5. Personal Statement For Electrical Engineering Personal Statement: Twenty years of education have brought me a deep appreciation for the study of the Power systems, Controls systems and Telecommunication. When the time came to specialize, my decision to major in Electrical Power Engineering was motivated by the hope of achieving a strong opportunity of creativity, research, and development. Electrical Engineering, with its myriad sub domains and multi faceted nature is a natural amalgamation that allows me to express my creativity and innovative power to bring about works that offer benefits to society. The tools and aims may be different, but designing and developing software/hardware or devising a novel mathematical proof is relatable to the work of artists in their shared spirit of creating. I view my decision to study Electrical Engineering as a natural means of fulfilling my need to create since it equips me with tools for the job: the ability to devise, test and evaluate Power systems and the programming knowledge required to implement them. • 6. The Importance Of Liberal Education Education nowadays is typically seen merely as something students must endure before they enter the real world. Students who ace all of their classes are looked upon with admiration and promised that they will go far in life. While grades are an important part of the educational system, simply learning facts in school is not all that it takes to be a contributing member of society. William Cronon makes excellent points in his article Only Connect... in which he lists the ten qualities he believes are required for a person to be liberally educated. Based on this list, I don t feel as though I am where I could be at this point in my academic career. While I can claim to excel with certain qualities like listening intently and being able to talk with anyone, there are many aspects that I am unable to relate to, such as being able to write clearly or solve a variety of puzzles. By understanding the importance of a liberal education, hopefully we, as a society, can learn to connect with others and make a difference in our communities, and ultimately our world. Based on Cronon s list, it would be difficult to attain each and every one of these qualities. He even states at one point that a liberal education is not something any of us ever achieve... While it may not be an acquirable goal, it is something that we should strive for in order to better ourselves and those around us. • 7. An Analysis Of Alice Walker And Kate Chopin Heritage, a lot of people see it as being only the past, with no significance to their everyday lives whatsoever, others see it as merely objects and money passed down from older generations to their younger generations, but really heritage means much more than that. Ones heritage is the lessons learned from elders and passed down to their children and grandchildren to help them not make the same mistakes they made before, heritage is the roots that makes a person who they are. The world without recollection of its s heritage, is a world without progress, a world that only stands still waiting for the same missteps to cycle back around. A person with no knowledge of their heritage is a person with no knowledge of themselves, and not knowing one s self can lead to mishaps directing that individual down a path they would otherwise be able to avoid with a keen understanding of where they originate. Alice Walker and Kate Chopin both touch on the struggles and outcomes of not knowing or taking advantage of one s heritage through their stories Everyday Use and Desiree s baby. In both of the stories, the antagonist Dee/Wangero, and Armand has problems with whom they truly are because of their lack of knowledge and acceptance of who they truly are. The misfortune of not appreciating one s heritage is clearly identified in Alice Walker s Everyday Use. The character used to demonstrate the tragedies that follows one who doesn t treasure their heritage throughout the story is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Art Within Cave Dwellings Dating One of the earliest evidences of the belief in a higher power comes from deep within the Lascaux Labyrinth , a deep cave decorated by our Paleolithic ancestors in the stone age, seventeen thousand years ago (Armstrong 2). The great numbers and locations of art within the Lascaux and surrounding region gives evidence that these were sacred places for the purpose of rituals, and some have compared these dwellings to temples (Armstrong 3). Whether art within cave dwellings dating back to the Paleolithic era, to magnificent churches rising to great heights around the world, the wondrous temples of the Mayans, a mountain that appears to seamlessly morph into the city of Machu Picchu, to trailers, tents and fortified compounds, belief in a power higher than one s self has been deeply ingrained throughout centuries and a multitude of cultures. These different places are what many refer to as a church, a place to record and follow the rituals specific to their belief and to worship. Through the generations of the development of the human psyche, belief in a higher power is taught young and ingrained for many, yet meaningless for some. Furthermore, throughout the evolution of many centuries, it is inevitable that branches of these religions will follow a different path, create new churches to better practice their views of religion, and for some, belief in a higher power can be contorted to the preaching s and worship of hate. If you consister drowning in fresh water compared to drowning in salt water, it really can. If you know about cell transportation and osmosis; you could infer which would be more trematic, and the diffrences between drownding in fresh water compaired to salt. In drowning cases people dont really die from oxygen loss, its by a much faster process known as osmosis. Osmosis is the movement of water across a membrane from a low concentration to an area with high concentration (Boundless). Osmosis takes place durning passive transportation, which is a process of cell tranportation. So when people drown weather it is in fresh water or salt water it is osmosis that is what mainly causes the death. First lets consider the worse option, which would be drowning in fresh water. So you re probably wondering what an exit diagram is so let me explain. When you walk into any hospital or surgery center really any building you will see a picture on the wall saying, You are here on what looks like a picture hanging on the wall. So the rule in the handbook about fire safety is that the surgery center has to have one in every part of the building, the bigger the building the more exit diagrams the facility needs to have. So as I got to reading in the handbook it made it very clear that these exit diagrams should be easy to read and understand. So after I read that part I took a walk around the facility just to see what their exit diagrams even looked like. I hadn t paid much attention to this so I was curious to see what they looked like. As I walked around the facility looking at the different exit diagrams the more I felt like they were the furthest from easy to understand. So after I was done taking my walk around the surgery center I went into Tracy s office she asked me what I read and what I had focused on in the reading today. So I told her about the exit diagrams and what they needed to pass code for when they get surveyed in the upcoming months. I asked her to come with me so I could show her some things, we then took a walk around the facility I asked her how easy she thought these exit diagrams were to read. • 16. Forests Are Very Important For The Environment Intro: Forests are very important for the environment. The importance of forests cannot be underestimated. We depend on forests for our survival, from the air we breathe to the wood we use. Forests also provide a habitat for a vast array of plants and animals, many of which are still undiscovered. They also supply the oxygen we need to survive. Forests are a home to many endangered species but forests are also endangered due to these species. For example the red deer eats just about any plant that they can reach, therefore is a threat to forests and saplings. Any of the forest trees that thrive in mature forests cannot survive on bare, exposed sites. In the forest, they are protected from wind, desiccation (drying out) and the extremes of temperature. Forests start off as young trees (also known as saplings). They then grow and develop into forests. Many physical and biological components influence forest trees. Individual sapling and tree growth and vigor are determined by a variety of physiological and external effects, such as age, available light, water, and nutrients. Since tree crowns are a component of forest ecosystem structure, they directly affect the composition, processes, and vigor of the understory plant and animal components of the forest. The height of the crown reflects the general health of the tree therefore would need to be tall in order for the tree to survive. There are a number of forest restoration groups who are helping to restore native forests ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Diffusion And The Concentration Of Diffusion Introduction: The lab used many concepts such as; diffusion is the passive movement of molecules or particles along a concentration gradient, or from regions of higher to regions of lower concentration (Biology Online, n.d). The concentration gradient is a gradual change in the concentration of solutes in a solution as a function of distance through a solution (Biology Online, n.d). Diffusion is a form of passive transport and requires no energy to be completed. Passive transport is The movement of a chemical substance across a cell membrane without expenditure of energy by the cell, as in diffusion (The Free Dictionary, n.d). Osmosis is a form of diffusion. Osmoregulation means the physiological processes that an organism uses to maintain water balance; that is, to compensate for water loss, avoid excess water gain, and maintain the proper osmotic concentration (Biology Encyclopedia, n.d) The purpose of this experiment is to observe how tonicity of a solution effects effects a cell. An egg will be used to represent a cell, corn syrup as the hypertonic solution, and water as the hypotonic solution. My hypothesis is that if you place an egg in corn syrup it will decrease in volume, and when placed in water, it will increase, this is because of osmosis and how diffusion works. First, The egg will be placed in vinegar for two days to expose a semipermeable membrane. All changes will be recorded. Next, egg will then be placed in corn syrup for twenty four hours, and all changes will be recorded. Finally the egg will be placed in water for twenty four hours and any changes will be recorded Materials and Methods: The following materials will be needed per egg: an egg, 1 beaker 250mL, 1 graduated cylinder, 150mL vinegar, 150mL corn syrup, 150mL distilled water, plastic wrap, rubber band. • 21. In The Bissula Analysis In his pioneering work, The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, Edward Gibbon writes that the poetical fame of Ausonius condemns the taste of his age. Indeed, Ausonius s work may seem uncomplicated on the surface: he borrows heavily from previous literature and uses straightforward syntax. However, his work contains depth beyond its ostensible simplicity: it blends genres and uses consistent themes as narrative foci to guide the reader. In two of his most prominent poems, liquid (as water and drink) is the key interpretive control: In the Bissula, alcohol provides wisdom that counters the confining seriousness of sobriety, while in the Moselle the river provides calm comfort that contrasts with the hectic unnatural world. Throughout both poems, Ausonius consistently uses liquid to contrast the serenity and clarity provided by water and drink with the chaos of the dry world. In the Bissula, alcohol plays a key role as the interpretive control. Ausonius addresses the reader directly, proclaiming that his poems are unserious. He writes that I follow Thymele (4), classifying his work as relaxing entertainment more than serious literature. Indeed, he requests that the reader drink before you read (6) in order to best understand the poem. While alcohol is typically associated with confusion and dulled wit, Ausonius claims that the drunk reader will get wise to me (8). Freeman modestly articulates a stakeholder theory using the narrow definition of a stakeholder, which includes those who are vital to the success and survival of a corporation. Specifically, these stakeholders include owners, management, suppliers, employees, customers, and the local community. As well as being directly connected with the corporation, Freeman argues that the stakeholders are also interconnected with each other as well, and that each stakeholder is vital to the survival of the corporation, and vice versa. • 39. The Argument Of The Chinese Room ( CR ) The Chinese Room (CR) is a thought experiment intended to prove that a computer cannot have a mental life with a strong sense of intelligence alike to one that humans possess because a computer does not have a genuine understanding. Rather, a computer is a mere simulator of understanding, and by extension, a simulator of intelligence. According to John Searle, because computers lack a true understanding they are rendered incapable of possessing mental life as we know and experience it (Searle 2004). In the following paper, I intend to explain and philosophically examine John Searle s argument of CR and will then proceed to reject his theory based on a series of objections. I will do this by examining the concept of human intelligence through a filmic analogy, put forth the Systems Reply objection, and examine how the CR argument is foregrounded in anthropocentric bias that presupposes only humans are capable of true intelligence. Overall, I argue that CR fails to convincingly argue that only humans can possess a human intelligence because it is an argument based more on intuitive claims, than sound reasoning. As promised, I begin by outlining the main crux of the Chinese Room argument. If you imagine a sealed room where through a slot you can submit questions written in Chinese and you can receive answers in Chinese, your inclination is more than likely going to be to assume that whomever resides within the room understands, and is able to, communicate in Chinese. ... • 40. Demon Lover Demon Lover is a story that gives an opportunity to the reader to chose between reality and fiction. The story provides enough information to believe the lover is actually a paranormal being. I believe it is a paranormal being that follows the lady from the story because of the all the evidence it provides. At first we are told the lover made the lady an eternal or a promise out of this world. As well, the story says that no human eye was watching her. This piece of evidence is really important because it makes the reader think and relate the title of the story with a question of whether the lover is human or indeed a demon. Later on the story, the letter she received made the reader think about the coincidence she found. The day she read the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Essay on Bus310 Accounting Theory and Accountability BUS310 ACCOUNTING THEORY AND ACCOUNTABILITY WORKSHOP 1 SOLUTIONS 1) GHHT: Chapter 1: Theory in Action 1.1 The article describes how a particular theoretical approach has been replaced by another. Explain why one theory replaces another, and who, or what, determines whether an existing theory survives. A theory is primarily meant to explain or predict an event, behaviour or outcome. Proponents of a theory look for evidence to support the theory. This evidence should be independently observed and consistent after repeated observations. Some theories are speculative or ideas or guesses floated to encourage researchers to undertake the observations required to prove or disprove the theory. The question often debated is what comes ... Theories about how the economy works and what will happen in the economy where there is monetary policy or fiscal policy intervention are appropriate in assisting policy makers understand the possible implications of decisions they make or are under consideration. However, they are rarely complete models and often outcomes cannot be predicted. Reintroduction of a theory suggests that new evidence in support of the theory has been reported. 3. Should a theory be discarded if it does not specify the means of achieving a stated objective? Explain your answer. The theory itself doesn t have to specify the means of achieving a stated objective; however, it has to provide a sound basis for explaining, defining and predicting behaviour. The application of the theory can have many elements and it is in the interpretation of what will induce the predicted effects in the economy predicted by the theory which will result in predicted or other stated outcomes. Q2) Readings 1. Principal images that have shaped the development of accounting theory: Historical record: One of the early objectives of historical cost accounting was stewardship. • 42. The Importance Of Fighting For Human Rights When thinking about human rights is it really essential to defend and protect these rights? Mother Jones, Gandhi, and Emma Watson found defending human rights essential. Emma Watson is a woman who fought for women s rights, Gandhi fought for racial rights, and Mother Jones fought for workers rights. These three people helped to enact change by becoming successful leaders, being brave, and cared for people as they took a stand no matter what they thought could happen to them for standing up. Mother Jones is a persistent, brave, and successful person and truly cares about these workers and their rights. For example Josephson states Mother Jones wanted the president to get Congress to pass a law that would take children out of the mills, mines, and factories, and put them in school. This was Mother Jones s motivation to fight for human rights and shows that she wants the best for these children (as she is their benefactor), so she is willing to fight for these children. Josephson continues with At first, police told the group they couldn t enter the city...Mother Jones invited the police to stay for lunch. The children gathered around the cooking pot with their tin plates and cups. The policemen smiled, talked kindly to them, and then allowed them to cross the bridge into Trenton. Mother Jones knows she could be in danger if she tries to defy these officials, but she is courageous and persuades the policemen to let her and her children in. This is also something ... • 43. Informative Essay On Kelseyton Manning There is a quote that I feel connected very well: The universe is always speaking to us...sending us little messages, causing coincidences and serendipities, reminding us to stop, look around, to believe in something else, something more. • 44. Pros And Cons Of Medical Technology After careful consideration given to the pros and cons of technology, I have arrived at the conclusion that advanced technology is, indeed, far greater than the absence of the technology we have acquired, and which we will continue to acquire. Medical technology, for example, for what brings to mind is the Da Vinci Robotic Surgeon, which can perform very delicate procedures such as brain surgery. It is designed to facilitate complex surgery using a minimally invasive approach, and is controlled by a surgeon from a console. The system is commonly used for Prostatectomies, and increasingly for Cardiac Valve Repair and Gynecologic surgical procedures. According to the manufacturer, the American company Intuitive Surgical. the Da Vinci System is called Da Vinci in part because Leonardo Da Vinci s, study of human anatomy eventually led to the design of the first known automaton in history. Additionally, through robotics, many surgical procedures are now performed using lasers. Before this technology, patients were subjected to large surgical incisions, leaving enormous scars. Now, however, the laser surgeries are successfully performed and they have even cut patients hospital stays shorter or even on an outpatient basis. Additionally, advanced prosthetic limbs can give an amputee almost the same range of movement as human arms, legs and other various body parts. The Tmsuk Enryu T 52 Manriquez 2 援竜, Des.
