Overall, composing an essay on Sherlock Holmes is a challenging task that needs both literary expertise and a profound grasp of Holmes and the world in which he exists.

To craft a compelling essay, one must examine a term's historical context, cultural significance, evolving meanings, and different interpretations across contexts. Effectively illustrating the definition with relevant examples and maintaining coherence while avoiding simplicity or complexity makes writing a definition essay intricate and demanding. Seeking professional assistance can help with exploring topics requiring nuanced definitions.
Crafting an essay on crime and punishment topics presents unique challenges that require comprehensive research and consideration. The topic is broad, necessitating an exploration of criminology, legal systems, sociology, and psychology theories and perspectives. Narrowing the focus to a specific angle like punishment methods or the roots of criminal behavior is crucial. Addressing questions of justice, morality, and ethics surrounding crime and punishment demands a nuanced approach considering opposing views. Researching credible sources, case studies, and real-world examples provides a foundation for arguments while synthesizing information into a coherent narrative with a clear structure poses additional challenges. Writing such an essay is an intellectual endeavor requiring time, dedication, and a commitment to presenting a thorough, well-reason

2. I Hate Crime Essay
LGBT stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender. Most recently the community added on QI to
represent those who identify as queer and intersex individuals.
The first hate crime acts date back to 1969 when police raided the gay bar Stonewall Inn in New
York City. This led to riots conducted by the LGBTcommunity. The police brutality did not stop
there. A little less than a year later a gayman, Howard Efland, checked into a Los Angeles hotel
under a made up name was beat up by the Los Angeles Police Department (Faderman Timmons,
2006).
One of the most famous acts occurred on November 27, 1978. Harvey Milk, an openly gay San
Francisco city supervisor and Mayor George Moscone (who was not a gay man) were
assassinated by a political rival, Dan White, at San Francisco City Hall. Milk was the first openly
gay person to be elected to public office in California. Deep into his office term he became an
activist for the gay community, passing many gay rights ordinance for the city. He was an icon and
a role model in the LGBTQI community before his untimely death (Shilts, 2008).

3. Analysis of The Decline of the West
The subject of capitalism is one very thoroughly discussed, and opinions are wide spread. Some
believe it to be the root of all evil, while others merely choose to see it as an inevitable part of
progress, one we might as well enjoy. After all, has living not become much easier since, say, the
beginning of the industrialised age? Everyone can afford materialistic goods and no one is forced
to starve. The question is, however, whether it is too good to be true, and recently, with the deep
financial crises, many have come to face the fact that everything, even capitalismitself, comes with
a price. Mike, a hardworking father of two, and the main character of Hanif Kureishi s short story

this observation and focus on the lessening importance with which family relations are viewed, is
not surprising; in Pakistan and many other Middle Eastern countries, family is of much

4. Pool Of Jerusalem Essay
Jerusalem was the center stage for the majority of the important events in the ministry of Jesus
Christ as documented in the Bible. One of the most notable miracles, as stated in the Gospel of
John, happened at the Pool of Siloam where Jesus cured a blind man. The pool was fed by the
water from the Gihon Spring, which is situated in the Kidron Valley. As such, the flowing water
from the spring allowed people to use the pool as a mikveh for ceremonial bathing. Also, it was
utilized as a vital source of the fresh water for the populations in that section of Jerusalem. Many
religious archaeologists searched for the site of this pool because it was believed its discovery
would be a turning point in the arena of the Biblical archaeology.

This pool was the only permanent source of fresh water in Jerusalem. Even though the Jewish
Literature, as well as the Bible, claim that the pool was located at the southern end of the City of
David, which is the Biblical Jerusalem, its exact location after it was abandoned was not known.
For that reason, the article enriches the information found in scriptures because it details the
exact position of the pool. The archaeologists, Ronny Reich and Eli Shukron, identified the
location of the pool as the King s Garden toward the Tyropoeon valley. The article is also
enriching because it details the times when the pool was created and deserted. The coins
containing the stamp of Alexander Jannaeus indicated that the pool might have been built
between 103 BC and 76 BC while the additional coins from the age of the Great Jewish Revolt
indicated that it was deserted between AD 66 and AD 70. Additionally, the article reveals the size
of the pool to be approximately 225 feet long, which is five times larger than any ordinary

There were a few key issues with this case. First, the issues with what Roger did. Although
minimal, Roger did not follow up with Steve. SP was in dire need of funding, every second
counted. Cambridge s team had completed their required research three weeks ago, yet Roger
did not call SPs only prospective investor to touch base. Secondly, once Roger did speak with
Steve at Cambridge, he misrepresented SP, by agreeing to an offer to sell controlling ownership of
SP to Cambridge. ( fraud___internal_audit_iia_6sep2012, n.d.) Roger misrepresented SP since he
did not discuss Steve s offer of purchasing ownership with the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) or the

investigating further with Roger. This is important because Beth needs to be able to be
independent from anyone who directly affects the daily work functions. ( Should Internal

ethically. It is concerning because she is an internal auditor and should be able to maintain
objectivity. Her actions should not be based on how she feels. The last key issue with Beth was
that she decided to wait two months before acting on her findings. Empathetically speaking,
Beth s ethical dilemma was huge. Does she go to the audit committee since her immediate boss
/CFO risked all of SPs funds to purchase stock based off privileged information, that Cambridge
would invest in Dugas, one day prior to the public announcement. Should she consider the fact
that by purchasing the stock, the CFO essentially saved her job as well as allowing the drug to
be affordable which would in turn potentially aid in saving others from leukemia? I do understand
Beth s concerns. However, It is of my opinion that Beth did not act ethically, in this case. Aside
from the fact that it took her two months to decide, her end decision was based off the concern for
legal ramifications. Beth s basis for concern was focused on what she could be held accountable.
She felt that what Roger did was ethical, which essentially blinded her ability to make decisions.
Beth should have handled her discovery in a different way. Instead of Beth confronting Roger, she
should have brought her suspicions to the audit committee. From here, they could have come up
with an investigation plan. The investigation

IS KURT VONNEGUT S SLAUGHTERHOUSE FIVE A GOOD ANTI WAR NOVEL?
Mostly, not all soldiers are affected by the negative aspects of war like injures or death. However,
more than half of these soldiers who come back from war mostly suffer from Post Traumatic Stress.
In Kurt Vonneguts slaughterhouse five, Vonnegut, the author, ues enormous flashbacks, disorder

death and ability to tell what s going to happen in the future due to flashbacks in order to show the

very silly for people to cry at his funeral . ( Vonnegut 26). Billy finds his own explanation of the

8. Molar Mass Of Butane And Unknown
Molar Mass of Butane and unknown
Abstract:
The purpose of this lab is to find the molar mass of mixed gases in a lighter, and to calculate the
exact mixture of gases in the lighter. The results of this lab were the mass of the lighter, as 100 mL
of water was displaced, was 0.27g, 0.17g, and 0.28g. The molar masses of the gasses for three trials
were 64.3 g/mol, 40.5 g/mol, and 66.7 g/mol.
Background:
The purpose of this lab is to find the molar mass of mixed gases in a lighter, and to calculate the
exact mixture of gases in the lighter. While collecting the volume of Butane gas in a lighter, the
molar mass can also be determined. When attempting to find the molar mass, water displacement is
the best method to use. This can be determined because the equal volumes of all gases contain
equal number of particles, so long as they are measured at the same temperature and pressure. Ideal
gas law is the chemistry involved with this experiment. The equations M=mRT/PV and PV=nRT
can be seen throughout this experiment.
Pre Lab questions:
The Ideal gas law demonstrates a relationship between different values in the equation PV=nRT.
The ideal gas law will be used to find the molar mass of butane.
The ideal gas law can be changed with the equation n=m/M. It can be seen that moles equals mass
over molar mass. This can be changed, and substituted into the Ideal gas law to find the molar
mass. The equation goes from PV=nRT to M=mRT/PV.
Molar Mass is the mass of a given substance. It

10. Siren Song Margaret Atwood
The One Song Everyone Would Like to Learn: Siren Song
Poetry can be used to provide the average person a daunting realization about how easy it is to fall
into the trap of manipulation. A siren, a female and partly human creatures in Greek mythology that
lured mariners to destruction by their singing , is a magical example of this manipulation (Merriam
Webster). The song sung by a siren, or a siren song is used to mesmerize and draw in the victim,
showing the strength of a womens appeal and how easy it is to lure men into a false sense of
courage because of their vanity. The poem Siren Song by Margaret Atwood portrays just this: an
artistic piece of literature that exposes the vanity within men and the blinding appeal and power of
woman who abuses her aspects of temptation through the use of powerful diction and emotion in
the carefully structured form of her poem.
The title of this poem, Siren Song , is significant to the poem as it provides the reader its speaker.

Revolution and Prostitution I am Cuba and The Rehabilitation of Prostitutes present the figure of
the prostitute as a representation of Cuba s degraded condition in relation to the United States. The
Revolution was interested in the rehabilitation of prostitutes as a metaphor for the rehabilitation of
Cuba. I Am Cuba explains the need for revolution in Cuba. The film captures the political
oppression and the large disparity in wealth and power experienced by the people under the
dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista prior to the Revolution. In one scene, it portrays the foreign
contribution to the prostitution and poverty epidemic in Havana. The American tourists degrade
and dehumanize the prostitutes; the men consider the prostitutes to be something on the side after
their drink orders, and they refer to them as tasty morsel and dish. However, one of the American
tourists announces that [he d] like to see where these women live, and a prostitute named Maria
reluctantly agrees to take the man to see her home. Here, the man encounters her poor and dismal
living conditions. Her home is merely a shack. The mistreatment and abuse by American tourists on
the Cuban people created lives consumed by suffering and destitution. The Rehabilitation of
Prostitutes provides a moral perception of the efforts made by the Revolution to decrease
prostitution. According to The

Many would agree that a worthy, controlled health system, above all, should essentially contribute
to good health. The responsibility of a health care system is that the organization of people,
institutions, and resources deliver the health care services required and meet the health needs of
focus populations. Another duty that the health care systems stimulate is the reduction of
inequality to race, gender, social status and religion. Each health care systemis different when
looking at specific countries across the world, however some countries are more similar than
others, such as France and Canada s health care system. These two countries have numerous
similarities when examining their health care systems, conversely that does not denote that both
France and Canada are just as equivalent as the other. When observing countless aspects, such as
longevity and infant mortality, as well as a lot of the inputs such as doctors or beds per capita, and
of course the total expenditure on health as a percentage of GDP over the year, it is seen that
France has a better and more enhanced health care system than Canada.
One major issue that differentiation France s health care system opposed to Canada s is the wait

materialism is that it makes people feel less capable, reduces feelings of gratitude, reduces one s

the leaders of the Bureau only want their officers to clean out all the vendors on the street no

I think that animal testing is a cruel and inhuman thing to do especially if you are hurting the
animal on purpose. Even though animals don t have rights you should still not abuse them by
burning them, pulling their eyes out, or just beating them. Did you know that over hundred million
animals are abused in U.S. labs every year? Imagine if you were in the animals place how would
you feel, would you try to do something about it?
Animals are used to test on for things like medical studies, cosmetic testing, and behavioral studies.
Animal testing first started in early Greek in the 2nd and 4th centuries BCE.
Some famous researchers from the early ages who tested on animals are people like Abenzoar, an

And only about 36 percent that are in pain are given anesthesia to help relieve the the pain, so
that means that the other 64 percent of animals are are in pain. I think that rules for animal
testing should be strict so that not every year 100 million animals are in pain, suffering, or
slowly dying because of us humans. There are many different things we can use instead of testing
on animals and killing them like for example we can use human cells or we can use dead humans
but the person being researched on has to know and be okay with it just like a donor. Most of the
test that are tested on are for cosmetic testing, toxicology testing, drug testing, biomedical research,
and also for educational reasons. And most the animals that get tested on usually the drugs work on
them but end up not working on humans, another reason why animal testing is bad. Rabbits get
tested on for contact lenses and after researchers have put the lenses in the rabbits the take lenses
out and take the rabbit s eye out.
Humans have rights and animals are pretty similar to humans so why shouldn t animals have
rights. Animal testing laws should be more strict so not a lot of animals end up dying. Animals
are an important part of this world, and if we don t take good care of them and keep on killing
them, then what are researchers going to do. Just like if you take out an animal out of a food chain

Improving service quality to meet customers standards is an ongoing part of doing business. In this
way, customers drive the market and the organization. At the same time that organizations act to
attract and satisfy customers, the customers themselves exercise ultimate influence. Their
satisfaction depends on both their expectations and their treatment. Through their choices,
customers decide which organizations survive and thrive, determine what goods and services are
available, and shape how they are provided. In addition to using their purchasing power, informed
consumers can shape the marketplace by communicating their preferences and standards to
organizations that are poised to listen and respond.
Contents of This Paper
For both service providers and consumers, making customer satisfaction a priority involves a
fundamental shift in thinking, organizing and acting. The customer satisfaction framework
proposed in this paper explores the potential of a customer satisfaction orientation as a means for
improving the goods and services, including those provided by the public sector, available to
residents of tough neighborhoods. This paper describes the ideas and research underlying the
framework and potential strategies for moving from concepts to action.

20. Essay on Metamorphosis of the Family in Kafka s...
Metamorphosis of the Family in Kafka s Metamorphosis In Franz Kafka s Metamorphosis, the
nature of Gregor Samsa s reality changes insignificantly in spite of his drastic physical changes.
Gregor s life before the metamorphosis was limited to working and caring for his family. As a
traveling salesman, Gregor worked long, hard hours that left little time to experience life. He
reflects on his life acknowledging the plague of traveling: the anxieties of changing trains, the
irregular, inferior meals, the ever changing faces, never to be seen again, people with whom one
has no chance to be friendly (Kafka 13). Gregor, working to pay off his family s debt, has resigned
himself to a life full of work. Kafka himself... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So concerned with ensuring his parents and sister were taken care of, he forgot his own needs.
It was apparent to everyone that he was no longer thought of as a son or an extension of the
family, but merely as a support system. The tragic fact is that everyone had grown accustomed
to it, his family as much as himself; they took the money gratefully, he gave it willingly but the
act was accompanied by no remarkable effusiveness (Kafka 48). It appears that in the course of
his hectic work schedule, he overlooks that in return for dedication to his family, he remains
unloved and unappreciated. Yet Gregor still believed he had to provide his family with a
pleasant, contented, secure life (Emrich 149), regardless of how they treated him. Gregor s
existence before the metamorphosis was much like after it; limited to work and family, he went
unnoticed by both. After changing into a cockroach one night, Gregor is forced to live a life of
isolation with a family who is appalled by him. He is placed in a dark bedroom, in the jumble of
discarded furniture and filth a monstrous vermin, a grotesque, hidden part of the family
(Eggenschwiler 211). Shock and terror, resulting in Gregor being locked away, marked his family
s reaction to his metamorphosis. His sister is the only one that, while frightened, would tend to
Gregor s room and meals. She even took the responsibility so far as to get angry with anyone who

21. The Importance Of Bilingual Education
The number of language minority children in the public schools have increased tremendously over
the last ten years. Bilingual Education has continued to grow relentlessly. The number of children
who have enrolled in dual language (DL) programs only continues to increase. Truly though, are DL
teachers ready to teach children in bilingual classrooms? Have these teachers received the
appropriate training so that their instruction would work effectively for the bilingual children?
According to Baker, the outcome of the staff professional development program should benefit the
teachers by increasing their understanding of second language acquisitionand developing effective
curriculum approaches in teaching language minority students as well being aware of the students
language and cultural background (Baker, 2011). In the article Dual LanguageTeachers Use of
conventional, environmental, and personal resources to support academic language development,
Lucero carefully considers the DL teachers instructional practices with their potential to improve
bilingual academic language outcomes for students. Since the allocation of resources is a
significant factor impacting teacher instructional practices, this aspect is divided into three
common types of resources composed of the conventional, environmental, and personal areas.
Conventional resources involve curriculum, facilities, teacher certification, plus professional

22. Fairy Tale Conventions
In her collection Kissing the Witch, Emma Donoghue breaks apart and reconstructs the fairy tale by
expertly retelling thirteen classic tales in a manner that subverts both societal conventions and the
conventions of the fairytale genre. In each retelling, Donoghue takes the iconic imagery and basic
premise of a given fairy tale, but twists components of the plot and more richly develops the
character of her heroines often ending with a happily ever after (or not so happily ever after) that
is vastly different from the traditional versions of the tales. In so doing so, she circumvents the
social standards that the established versions of the tale uphold. By definition, fairy tales are stories
in constant flux, but each version of the tale... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the story of Tale of the Shoe progresses, Cinderella becomes increasingly cognizant of her role
within a constructed fairy tale archetype. Before going to the ball for the 3rd time, she claims
that she didn t have to listen to the barking voices to know how the story went, and later
comments that the scene as the prince is about to propose is all very fairy tale (5 6.) Even
without directly listening to the voices and the societal conventions they represent, these
instances in which the 4th wall is broken reveal that Cinderella feels as though she must adhere
to the conventions of the archetypal Cinderella story. By extension, she feels as though she must
adhere to the expectations that go along with the Cinderella narrative namely love and marriage
to the prince, thereby limiting her personal freedom and capacity for action. Yet Cinderella
begins to feel that these story conventions and expectations are shallow. In the description of the
3rd night s ball, Cinderella remarks that the musicians played the same song over and over while
Cinderella herself danced like a clockwork ballerina (6.) The references of the repeated song and
mechanical nature of the dancing gives the scene a sense of monotony and fakeness,
demonstrating Cinderella s discomfort with the pre written steps of the archetypal Cinderella
narrative. As the prince proposes, Cinderella compares him to an actor on a creating stage, a
simile that further exposes him and the whole narrative situation as inorganic as an actor simply
working through the motions of a pre written script. As he speaks, Cinderella claims that she can
see the future in his words, fearing the long procession of years to come and her pre prescribed
future should she marry him. Thus, even

23. A Comparison of Love in Romeo and Juliet and The Tempest...
The Phenomenon of Love in Romeo and Juliet and The Tempest
We know from the very opening scene of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo and Juliet s love will end in
tragedy. We may wonder why Miranda and Ferdinand in The Tempest do not end up with the
same fate as Romeo and Juliet. Both couples are from opposing political families. Both couples
are enraptured with their lovers. Why then does Romeo and Juliet end with their death s and the
Tempest end with Miranda and Ferdinand s marriage plan? In this paper I will argue that
according to Shakespeare reason needs to guide the souls of lovers to avoid tragedy and find
bliss. I will do this by examining and comparing William Shakespeare s plays; Romeo and Juliet ...

In both cases we can see the passions of love between the
lovers clouding their reason.
In both plays Shakespeare has a councillor, or mentor, for each couple. In Romeo and Juliet
this mentor is Friar Laurence and in The Tempest it is Prospero. Because of the nature of the
phenomenon of love, it seems Shakespeare feels that both young couples need this mentor as a
source of reason and advice to help guide them through their passions. Both mentors warn the
couples against letting passion guide their souls. Both mentors do seem genuinely concerned
with the pairing and the good of the lovers and those connected to them. Most importantly the
mentors try to act as reason for the lovers while the are caught up in desire. These mentors are
one way that reason ought to guide the souls of lovers.
Love ending in tragedy
The play in which love ends in tragedy is Romeo and Juliet. After Romeo and Juliet s first
meeting at the dinner, we see how driven by passion Romeo is. After leaving the Capulet s
24. home, he is so taken with Juliet he must return. He climbs the Capulet s wall and sneaks up to
Juliet s balcony. There the two lovers exchange their passionate declaration of love for each
other. We only hear a slight hesitation from Juliet when she says [this contract tonight] is too
rash, too unadvised, too sudden but she ignores this thought

environment in many ways. It can affect both the animals and the habitats living in the habitats. In
the event of an oil spill, there are animals that may be affected. They can lose their homes and
require the help of humans to survive. For example, during the BP Oil Spill of 2010, over eight

To begin with, oil spills are the release of a liquid petroleum hydrocarbon into the environment,
especially marine areas, due to human activity. Researchers say you can prevent oil spills by
putting a stop to pollution. Due to the fact that oil spills are a form of pollution it is a smart idea
to stop pollution all together. Avoiding pollutants is not only a good way to stop oil you can
also help our environment at the same time. Secondly, you can use less oil. If you use less oil
than less oil will have to be shipped. Whether it is gas you use to fill your car tanks or regular
vegetable oil you use to cook with it can make a big difference. It only takes one person to start a
revolution and make a change. With the help of others you can achieve, if you

27. Low Social Class Relationships In Charles DickensGreat...
People in society do not give enough credit to those who raised them. We take advantage of all
the sacrifices and love they give to us as children. They are the reason we are who we are today.
In the novel, Great Expectations, Dickens tells the story of Pip, the protagonist, suffered through
emotional abuse during his childhood and how he does not understand the importance of the good
people in his life. As a young adult, he moves to London, where he encounters people from many
walks of life, businessmen, convicts and lawyers who influence him in many ways both positive
and negative. Pip is negatively influenced by the powerful women in his childhood, which leads to
his ungrateful and stagnant character; eventually, when he loses his fortune that he realizes that
one of the good people from his childhood, Biddy, did have a positive influence on him but he did
not realize it at the time.
Mrs. Joe, Pip s motherly figure, has a low self esteem due to her low social class status and it is
one of the main reasons she is abusive towards Pip, having a profoundly negative impact on him.
Dickens uses the image of an apron to depict her social class status: I may truly say I ve never
had this apron of mine off, since born you were. It s bad enough to be a blacksmith s wife (and
him a Gargery) without being your mother. (9). Mrs. Joe feels tied down to the lower class of
society because of her apron. The apron represents her connection to bondage of motherhood, since

ENG 102 Mini Term
The Relation of Societal Problems in A Dollhouse and The Bear, A Joke in One Act The social
normalities that are prevalent in modern society have made substantial changes over time. What
one may think is proper and acceptable in a society may be completely different to someone else.
Many things have caused this societal difference. Particularly, the use of literary works to show
different societies in related time periods has constantly shaped thoughts over this controversial
topic. From poems, to short stories, to even plays, the use of literary works to show societal issues
has become increasingly normalized. The Bear, A Joke in One Act is a one act play written by
Anton Chekhov that explores many societal issues, as well as A Dollhouse written by Henry
Ibsen. The authors choice of literary elements, and the portrayal of contentment versus
happiness, helps to shape both plays and abets each ending with a mutual theme that becomes
evident to the audience. The subject matter reviewed in both plays show similarities and
differences that unify to relate back to the overall theme of societal problems in comparable
eras. Anton Chekhov, the most prominent Russian dramatist of his time, wrote plays about the
humdrum life of inconspicuous, sensitive people, whose lives fall prey to the hollowness and
tedium of a disintegrating social order (Augustyn). His intellectual work in The Bear, A Joke in
One Act refelects this statement greatly. This play was one of Chekhov s most successful plays
in his lifetime and sought him great fame and fortune (Tanitch). The Bear, A Joke in One Act ,
showed realistic themes and situations relatable to the era. Some viewed Chekhov to have a
poor and jilted view of women (Tanitch). He chose to write about women from various
perspectives. In this play, Chekhov highlights a very emotional woman who lets all her energy,
happiness, and awareness die with her husband. From this, readers can also see the presence of
social issues in the form of males versus females in previous eras. Mrs. Popov is one of the main
characters in this play, and she is grieving her husband s death. Around the time Mr. Smirnov, the

to eliminate forest cover and crops. Up to four million people were exposed and now about one
million people suffer from serious health issues. Even their children who were not exposed can
suffer from spina bifida and birth defects, while up to four generation can have health problems.
People who have been exposed to Agent Orange can suffer from certain cancers like soft tissue

Agent Orange was first introduced in 1961 six years after the Vietnam war began and is made up
of a mixture of two herbicides, 2,4,5 Trichlorophenoxyacetic acid and 2,4 Dichlorophenoxyacetic

helped in some development of my strategic plan. For example, if the CEO of a company wants to

This strategy will allow Oz to remain in quadrant I and consolidate its equity. After
implementing the previous strategy, Oz learned the firm ranked fourth in the US toy industry
added an online toys channel that may boost them ahead. After the aggressive move, the
industry was in rapid growth and now held a weak competitive position because there currently
is not an online toy channel. The strategy was to start an online sales channel and acquire a
digital toys and game company. This will allow Oz to maintain their competitive position within
the industry. The next decision Oz faces is what to do about one of their more popular toys,
Buggs. It has been determined the toy has small parts that have choked little children. This story
has pushed Oz to quadrant III, a weak competitive position and slow market growth. The next
move would be to sell a portion of the retail chain assets, and continue to focus on current product
lines. This strategy will allow Oz to regain their competitive position they lost when it was
discovered Buggs was hazardous. The final decision facing Oz was how to maintain a strong
competitive position in a slowing market. This puts Oz in quadrant IV of the Grand Strategy
Clusters matrix. In order for Oz to maintain their competitive position, the proper strategy to
implement is to develop a range of pet toys, called Pet Planet. This allows for more

41. Effects Of Modernism
The Modernist era was a social and cultural movement characterised by rapid social and
technological change in the 19th and 20th century. The art movement revolved around a group of
innovative artists and art critics who challenged preconceived ideas about what good art was, and
redefined expectations. Modernismaffected the ideas and practices of artists, increasing the attitude
of the Avant Garde to be original. Abstraction was explored visually and artists moved away from
pictorial realism, bringing into focus new techniques and acceptances. Abstract Expressionist was
the final sub era of Modernism. Artists started to view painting as a performance or experience,
rather than a reproduction of an object real or imagined. It was... Show more content on

He aimed to distil the core essence of each artwork through visual vocabulary; using non genre
based subject matter such as distorted shapes, squiggles and motifs. For example, in his painting
Composition IV, 1911, Kandinsky has partially disguised symbols of subject matter from the
outside world, such as boats, reclining figures, and a castle on a hilltop, beneath vibrant blocks of
colour and harsh black lines. The notion of battle is conveyed in the chaos of the composition
particularly in the way Kandinsky has juxtaposed the clashing vibrant high key colours, with the
calm of the flowing forms. This alludes to the peace and redemption to
follow. Kandinsky s formalistic approach to the biomorphic painting with a specific focus on
colour, shape and arrangement was challenging to the deeply ingrained notion that subject matter
was required to tell a narrative and realistically represent society. Kandinsky was criticised for
devaluing art in the Modernist era and promoting the notion of art for art s sake due to the
abstract nature of his work. However he argued that such artwork could create a corresponding
thrill or contrast of emotion in the audience. He said Such works of art at least preserve the soul
from coarseness; they key it up...as tuning key the strings of a musical instrument. He aimed to
reveal the inner life

42. Suicide In Dido s Lament By Mark Morris
Dido s Lament , choreographed by Mark Morris, is an emotional dance theatre piece that
illustrates the tale of Queen Dido, a character from the opera Dido and Aeneas, who prepares to
commit suicide after feeling betrayed by Aeneas, a man with whom she fell in love with. Because
the character that Morris is portraying is preparing to commit suicide due to being heartbroken,
Morris wanted to translate this tragic and moving concept of suicide through not only his
movement phrases, but through the dark setting created onstage by the performers as well. As the
title suggests, the word lament , as well as the concept of suicide and despair, were the main
elements on which Morris built the dance piece on. Through the dark ambiance and slow, dramatic
movements onstage, Morris expresses to the audience through story how emotional grief, inner
conflict, and sadness are.
Mark Morris formed the Mark Morris Dance Group in 1980, and was famous for the power of his
dancing and the musicality he chose to utilize with his performances, while still being graceful and
delicate. His ability to technically express the messages he aimed to convey made his performances
captivating. Morris performed in both Dance Theatre and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In front of him, the dancers, who represent dark emotions, are standing tall and taking turns down

up. This represents Morris, as Dido or as an individual with inner conflict, giving in to their
thoughts and emotions, and almost looking as if they are giving up. This can also be seen through
how the dancers are all in front of Morris standing, while he is kneeling, showing that they stand

43. Five Fantastic Multiple Offer Techniques For Home Buyers
5 Fantastic Multiple Offer Techniques For Home Buyers!
In the following post, I will provide you with some of the best multiple offer techniques that my
clients and various other twin cities home buyers are using to get out there and fight off all the
other would be home buyers and gain the home of your dreams!
1. Get Your Pre Approval Document All Set To Go!
Allow me to start by pointing out, if you are out exploring houses with a qualified Realtor В®
then you must currently have a pre approval document in your back pocket! When taking on
numerous offers, it s specifically significant to be prepped! The primary step in buying a new
house is to meet with a LOCAL lender and to become pre approved for a mortgage loan. (This
ought to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2. Increase Your Earnest Money
I would state that 80%, or better, of all the Twin Cities house buyers I have consulted with, had
no concept what earnest money was when it arrived time to develop an offer. It s one of those
things that doesn t get spoken about a whole heck of a lot, I presume. The earnest money
amount in an offer may be a very subtle but effective piece in the multiple offer strategies
challenge. Normally, earnest money is in between 1 2% of the total purchasing price. On a
$250,000 investment, earnest money would normally be anywhere between $2,500 $ 4,000 in
a standard realty market. The twin cities house Buyer only pays the Seller the earnest money
right after their offer is agreed to. If you withdraw or the deal flops for a reason not protected by
contingencies, the seller can retain that money. You won t pay it unless your offer is accepted,
but you ll tell the seller how much money you want to pay as a component of your offer. Make
sense? The strategy is to spend a little more earnest money to prove to the homeowner just how
much you enjoy their house and win the offer. On that same $250,000 purchase you may decide
to pay $6,000 or $7,000 in earnest funds. Ultimately, if you do wind up purchasing the home, that
cash will either be applied to your down payment or your closing expenses; consider it a little
down payment for your new house. Often it boils down to just a few thousand dollars to gain

44. US and the Cold War Era
While the U.S. maintained a relatively confusing agenda regarding foreign policies during the Cold
War era, its attitudes are clearer in the present as globalization has strengthened connections
between all international actors and made it more difficult for some to focus on maintaining hostile
outlooks. The U.S. has had a long history with Syria and Israel, as the superpower has struggled to
keep the two countries from abusing each other and has, at times, provided the latter with
significant financial and military support. However, U.S. involvement in Israel Syrian relations has
declined significantly in the recent decades, only to emerge in the last few years as a consequence
of the fact that the Middle East currently experiences a serious political crisis.
The U.S. has focused on strengthening relations with Israel ever since the end of the Cold War. In
contrast, the superpower has come to consider that Syria is not necessarily an important actor when
taking into account international affairs and did not invest a great deal of resources in securing a
strong connection with the country. The Clinton Administration picked up foreign relations
consequent to the end of the Cold War and acknowledged that Syria was an actor that needed to be
provided with significant attention by an international body. George W. Bush, however, did
understand the U.S. role in keeping Syrians from expressing interest in extremist ideas. The Bush
Administration s overall policy toward Syria

45. Election Mapping In The United States
Election mapping is a very important tool when studying the history of our county. The history
books may be able recount the events, but election maps can reveal how people reacted at that time.
American s opinions and views change over time and this can be proved through election mapping.
By looking at three elections: 1960, 1968, and 1980, it can be shown that changes in the political
landscape are the result of multiple factors impacting the American people. The first notable detail
is what did not change throughout these three elections. It would seem that the Deep South was
very firm on their political views. They consistently voted conservatively with the Democratic Party,
even in the 1980 election, in which incumbent Democratic President

46. Gastrointestinal Disease
Stress and Gastrointestinal Diseases
Stress can cause mental disorders like anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), but it
can also cause gastrointestinal diseases such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and peptic ulcer
disease. I found the article The neurobiology of stress and gastrointestinal diseases which discusses
the correlation between the two.
Both chronic and acute stress can cause changes in the stomach. Acute life threatening stress
episodes in adult life are an important risk factor in the development of functional gastrointestinal
disorders. Examples of a acute life threatening stress episode could be rape, post traumatic stress.
Even early life stress can play a major role in developing a disease in the future. ... Show more

serotonin and cortisol daily. My family doctor said I had IBS and possibly other gastrointestinal

47. The Man He Killed By Wilfred Owen
War is an event that not many people experience directly. At the same time, too many people
have endured the perils of war. War is not only a physical battlefield, but a mental and emotional
one as well. Many soldiers are forced to kill individuals they might have been friends with in
different circumstances. Those same soldiers are forgotten, or expected to be proud of the things
that they did and experienced that will haunt them for the rest of their life. Three poems describe
these circumstances very well. They include The Man He Killed by Thomas Hardy, Grass by
Carl Sandburg, and Dulce et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen. Could you imagine killing someone
you know nothing about just because you were told to do so? That is something that many military
members have to experience at some point. The poem The Man He Killed by Thomas Hardy colors

Many of these veterans suffer from post traumatic stress disorder or simply the haunting memories
from the war. The memories of being hungry, dirty, suffering insomnia, constantly being attacked
or threatened, and many other unpleasant circumstances. In the poem Dulce et Decorum by
Wilfred Owen, the speaker tells a tremendously detailed story about being in a war, and the
terrifying things that happen. At the end of the poem, the speaker tells the reader My friend,
you would not tell with such high zest To children ardent with some desperate glory, The old lie:
Dulce et decorum est Pro patria mori. (Owen). This holds very true. Many veterans will not
speak about the war that they were involved in because of the horrors they faced. I have
experienced this first hand. Both of my grandfathers served in the Korean War. I never heard either
of them say a word about it. If my parents had not told me that they were veterans, I would have
never known that my grandfathers served in the Navy and the

48. The Normal Heart Analysis
In the rougher neighborhoods of Queens where I did a majority of my growing up, repression is
survival. Everyone keeps their heads down, shuffles to work in the morning, and shuffles back at
night. There s a pervasive culture of tragedy; it is everywhere: families torn apart by deportations,
young men taken by gang violence and guns, and young children missing mothers and fathers. But,
to survive, it must be as if none of that matters. Shuffle to work, shuffle back. My mother, a very
well educated womanand single parent, fought as hard as she could to provide me with the kind of
education that could pull me away from the dead ends that every other young person fell into. So
she worked double shifts, two jobs, and found a side hustle wherever she could to keep me in
private schools miles away. The sorts of schools that still had arts funding while in out
neighborhood that money had long been taken away.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I read stories and heard tales of people who were just like the people in my neighborhood. People,
now characters, who endured the same sort of loss and continued on bravely with humor and
humility, learning something and teaching me in turn. These plays, like The Normal Heart, and
August: Osage County allowed me to tell stories and to feel and empathize deeply. To look up at
the world instead of accept it, mourn it, keep my head down and shuffle to work and back.
I live my life to tell stories. All stories are beautiful and everyone deserves to see a face they
recognize telling them a story that explores the struggles they deal with daily. To know we are not
alone, and that art has a meaning full place in our lives as our teachers, is such a comfort. Art
teaches us to feel, it teaches us about ourselves, and how to empathize with others. It taught me
how to communicate something that could save a life in a tender, beautiful way. And it would be
my privilege to be able to do that with the rest of my

49. Black September Organization Research Paper
When discussing the notoriety Black September one needs to first identify what is Black
September. Black September Organization (BSO), also called Arabic AylЕ«l al Aswad, was a
militant faction that broke away from the Palestinian organization Fatah. The name BSO also
comes from September of 1970 when the King of Jordan King Hussein who declared military rule,
brutally killing thousands of Palestinian Fedayeen.
The members of the BLO threatened King Hussein s rule, by revenging the deaths of Palestinians
that were killed. The death of the last charismatic leader of the Fedayeen, Abu Ali Iyad was

were also killed. In response Israel declared war on the BLO for their actions at the Munich
Olympics in Germany. Israel s retaliatory acts killed hundreds of people at Palestinian refugee
camps in Lebanon and Syria most of whom had no affiliation with the BLO. The attacks built
great tension between Israel and the neighboring countries, which lead to further military conflict.
The BLO dissolved from the PLO in the fall of 1973 and acts of violence were no longer condoned
outside Israel, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip.
In conclusion the notoriety of Black September Organization a militant faction that broke away
from the Palestinian organization Fatah comes from its struggles for freedom within the Middle
East. Black September was best known for the attack at the Munich Olympics where it took
members of Israeli Olympic Team hostage and demanded the release of Palestinian prisoners being

50. Reaction Of Joan Of Arc
At the age of 19, Joan of Arc set out to fight for battle with her men on March of 1429 for

victory during the long term war with England. The men followed her into battle and trusted that
her voices were valid.(JusticeInHistory)She dressed in white armor and riding a white horse, she

52. The Truth About Princesses in Fairy Tales
Once given birth to a beautiful baby girl, often parents refer to her as their little princess; when
having a newborn girl, that baby girl will often get all the attention from her surroundings, she
will be showered in the most adorable dresses; cute shoes , baby clothes that say princess on it
and either a bow or a bedazzled head band, perhaps a room that is nothing but pink, letters on her
wall over looking her crib saying Mommy s little Princess . There is nothing wrong with spoiling

We grownups roll our eyes, but face it: it s still the one scenario in which the girl is the central
figure . The Authors niece is obviously familiarized with the Princess like story tales. These
young girls learn that Princesses are royal, live in a gigantic castle, marry her Prince charming, as
well as live happily ever after . Those are focuses young girls are going to aim for while growing up
in her young adult years, having this ideal image that if she herself is beautiful enough and is
perfectly suitable for her prince charming she expects that a marriage will happen, perhaps forever

Growing up from a young child who dressed as a Princess, playing dolls and fantasying while
