My Responsibilities As An International Business Manager
Interview 1: Bill Hricsina, International Business Manager The Conair Group
Kindly describe your responsibilities as an international business manager
Besides being the international business manager for Conair Group, I am also the general manager
for the company s Latina Americas branches. I am responsible for managing the sales division of
the company in the named regions. Additionally, I am also responsible for strategy integration in
these branches, taking directives from the organization s top management. My roles encompass
more than supervising sales agents, as it involves the development of sales and marketing strategies
that suit the locations in which our organization operates. This situation being the case, I delegate
some of my responsibilities, which are not core to the business. I am also entrusted with the role of
promoting cultural integration while managing a diverse workforce. Likewise, I am also
responsible for all legal and business complications encountered by our branches in the various
countries, which include Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico, Brazil and most Caribbean countries, where
our penetration is still in progress.
What are some of the key challenges that you have faced in performing your role as an
international business manager for Conair?
Managing international branches is not as simple as most people might assume. Especially in my
case, where I have to deal with a variety of countries, challenges are inevitable. Primarily, the

The Principle Teachings About Peace in Judaism and...
Analyse using sacred scripture and a variety of sources the principle teachings about peace in
Judaism and Christianity and how these teachings impact on the life of each adherent s tradition, as
a means of achieving inner peace.
Living and perpetuating a life of peace are central to the Christian and Jewish religious expressions.
The teachings of peace which underpin both Christianity and Judaism are existent in their sacred
texts; The Bible for Christians, The Torah and Mishnah Torah for Jewish adherents. Albeit peace is
of paramount importance to both traditions, the concept of peace is expressed differently.
Christians believe the only way complete peace can be attained is through the full acceptance of
Jesus Christ, the incarnate. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In (Matthew 6:6 NIV), Jesus explains the merits of praying to the lord God and the reward of inner
peace, But whenever you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who
is in secret: and your father who sees in secret will reward you. It is through this conversation
with God that Christians pursue peace in their lives. Prayer can either be private or communal,
spontaneous prayer is one way that charismatic communities can come closer to God. The act of
prayer allows believers to have a personal conversation with God; it alleviates stress attributed to
the monotony of everyday life. Besides prayer, meditation is another way of attaining inner
peace, it is an ancient practice within the Christian tradition, which has undertaken a recent
revival, a global group that reaffirms the concept of praying and meditating for inner peace is
TaizГ©. Not as popular as prayer and meditation, Lectio Divina, generally known as bible studies
is a way for Christians to feel connected to God and to finally attain inner peace. The studying of
the sacred scriptures on a day to day basis and reflecting on prayers also maintain a continual
connection with God. It is vital to maintain equilibrium between prayer and service, whereby an
individual fathoms the notion ora et labora , in order to equally partake in both prayer, and the
concept of action whereby ora develops inner peace, which is mirrored through the

How To Prepare For Western Civilization
To prepare, I first wrote a paper about Winston Churchill that I had to do for my Western
Civilization II class. This helped me pick out what information I wanted to include in my
speech. I used one Sunday to the write the bulk of my paper, as well as my speech outline. I was
expecting to give our speeches earlier than when we started, so I started practicing my speech
early. I had time to memorize all that I could and used notecards for specific dates and facts.
When I got up in front of the audience, I became really nervous even though I was well prepared.
I could feel my hands shaking and my heart beating. In the middle of my speech, I got a sudden
sense of dread that something was wrong. I thoughtthat maybe I had forgotten something... Show

I wish I didn t get so nervous, so I d like to be able to deal with that better. I hope that as I get
more experience, that nervousness will go away or be not as present in my mind. The feeling of
dread I got in the middle of my speech was definitely unexpected. I ve never had that feeling
when practicing my speech before. I also presented one of my pictures out of order, which I didn
t think I would do. I had the times I clicked to the next picture written out on my notecards, but I
think I just clicked through because of nervousness. I procrastinated a lot on my shield speech,
and I went first, so I didn t have as much time to prepare as I did with my informative speech. I
prepared early for this speech and performed in the middle of our class. In this speech, I was better
at planning what I had to say because I wrote out a paper beforehand, and that helped. Next time, I
suppose I ll try not to be so nervous, except I m not sure how you stop that. I hope to be more
comfortable with people watching me next time. I know I really, really, really want to do
something in music as a career, so part of that might be teaching. If I become a high school teacher

Research on Reaction Time
The Effect of Stimulus Type on Reaction Time Katelin Wagoner Anderson University Abstract
Previous studies on reaction time have examined the effects of different kinds of stimuli; this
experiment specifically tests reaction time in response to auditory and visual stimuli. The common
belief is that an auditory stimulus is faster than visual stimuli. There were 23 participants; 95%
were Caucasian, with six males and 17 females. This experiment required participants to respond
to either an auditory or visual cue by pressing a button. The data was measured by way of a stop
clock. Using a two tailed dependent t test to analyze the data, it was found that the critical t was

Four participants entered the room at one time; two experimenters and two respondents. The
respondent was instructed to stand in front of the apparatus with their entire dominant hand
resting on the table. They were also told to place their dominant hand behind a tape mark, with
all fingers and the palm on the table. After each trial they were instructed to return their hand to
the taped position. The experimenter would choose what set of five audible and five visual cues
to use, but would also tell the participant which set would be used. After one set of five stimuli,
the opposite (visual or auditory) set was selected until two auditory and two visual sets were
completed. The experimenters and respondents then switched roles after the respondents had
finished their sets. Every fifteen minutes two new experimenters and two new participants
replaced the previous participants until all trials had been completed. The respondent s times
were recorded on the data sheet to a thousandth of a second and entered into Excel program,
ensuring accuracy. Results Using a dependent two tailed t test it was found that the critical t,

The Importance Of Volunteering For Your Volunteer Service
There are a number of ways in which I plan to make a difference to the world, one way of offering
my volunteer services to a number of organizations that I am assisting with. As a member the
AAUW of Redlands I plan to make a difference by committing to help support local women in the
community that hope to empower themselves in many aspects of their lives. Volunteeringfor me
means that I am able to provide support to anyone that needs it thus, this not only enable s me to
meet new people, but make friends and form a lasting relationship with others that have the
same vision and drive as me. I believe that volunteering is just one form of how you can help
make a difference to someone, but there are simpler ways to make a difference too, such as
helping your disabled neighbor with running errands and picking up a few items from the local
grocery store for them. This is what I do for my neighbor and she appreciates the helpand I feel a
sense of satisfaction that I have helped make life little easier for my neighbor. We support each
other when we can and it is quite a blessing to be able to help and support each other when in
need. I also help at my son s soccer team as a parent volunteer in the CAPS Program run by the
Loma Linda UniversityChurch. It is a program that aims to promote healthy living habits for
children and the Goal4Health is a soccer program which enables all ages of children to take part in
a sporting physical activity to promote a healthy lifestyle.

What Is The Influence Of Taylorism In The Turn Of The 20th...
In the turn of the 20th century came about Frederick Winslow Taylor, a mechanical engineer with
his interpretations and principles of how to improve work so that it would be more efficient and
productive which was later on referred to as Taylorism/scientific management. This essay will be
exploring Taylorism and its influence on Fordism and mcdonaldization.
Fredrick, Winslow, Taylor was an American engineer who was also a managing consultant at the
turn of the 20th century when industrialisation was in full bloom. He wanted to identify a
standardised way that was not in existence at the time to manage large groups of people and the

Before when the car was moved around the workers or the assemblers, it took them a total of
12hours to complete one car from start to finish but after moving the car past the worker it was
reduced to 93 minutes for the completion of one car. Ford broke down each task of making a
car from simplifying all the processes including making a wheel into simple respective steps and
even assembling. Each worker became a specialist in their task. Inevitably there was no need to hire
crafts men or skilled workers because they could easily select and train workers or farm boys for a
specific job. By incorporating scientific management or aspect of Taylorism Ford managed to
double the going wage rate per day to 5 us dollars a day. He had no need to hire skilled craftsmen
with years of training as he could simply hire workers, train them to do a specific task and do
any job quickly. In addition, he provided jobs to incoming immigrants as long as they worked
fast and obeyed orders. However similarly to Taylor ford did not put into account that workers
are not like machines and they have other needs such as job satisfaction, as at the end of the day
his workers became expandable and deskilled. They could easily be replaced by someone

Presidential Elections And The Political Integration Of...
The 2016 Presidential Elections and the Political Integration of Data Analytics The 2016
election cycle pits Democrat Hillary Clinton against Republican nominee Donald J. Trump.
After the success of Barrack Obama s data analytics, Clinton continued their adoption of data
analytics, this time developing a new algorithm called Ada after the female, 19th century
mathematician, Ada, Countess of Lovelace (Wagner, 2016) and having Obama s former data
analytics director, Elan Kriegel, as one of the highest paid staff of her campaign (Goldmacher,
Hillary Clinton s Invisible Guiding Hand , 2016). Clinton s dependence with analytics is so
entrenched that a lot of their campaign decisions are based upon the results of Ada s 400,000
simulations per day on what a head to head with Trump would look like. Moreover, Ada, played
a vital role in determining the television ad buys, the deployment of the candidate and her
surrogates up to when to be scarce and be silent on the issues. Even the staging of concerts with
artists like Jay Z and BeyoncГ© was chiefly based upon Ada s data driven analysis (Wagner,
2016) (Goldmacher, Hillary Clinton s Invisible Guiding Hand , 2016). Contrary to the Clinton
campaign, Trump is not quick to adopt big data in his presidential bid. The Republican nominee
has always been critical towards data analytics and heavily relied on his own appeal. I ve always
felt it was overrated, Trump said in an Associated Press interview. Obama got the votes much more

Does Salt make Ice melt Faster?
Project Plan
Salt is known to be used on icy roads in certain areas of the country in the winter season to help
clear roadways to make them safer for travel. Salt causes a reaction that lowers the freezing point
of water. In this experiment we will test this method of applying salt to ice to see if for certain this is
true, and how much faster the salt melts if so. In this experiment, the Independent Variable will be
adding Salt to the ice and the Dependent variable will be the time it takes the ice to melt.
The Plan is to use two ice cubes in separate containers, and add ice to only one of these. Each will

* Place one ice cube into each container. * One Ice cube will have nothing added to it. * To other
Ice Cube add ВЅ tsp of salt (sprinkled over top). * Start your timer(s). * Record how long it takes
for each Ice Cube to melt completely, taking progress notes as you go. For instance, the percentage
of the ice cube that has melted at 5 minutes, 20 minutes, etc.
Reasoning
I chose this method to keep the two Ice cubes separated during the experiment, and to see the two
individual results of adding salt, or adding nothing to the ice. Keeping the Ice cubes separate
allows no error in collecting data on each individual subject. Adding salt to one will not interfere
with data collected on the ice cube melting with no additives. Some studies were very similar, but
most used many different substances to test how quickly Ice would melt. These included for
instance Sugar, and Sand.
Sequence of Events:
The experiment will start with two ice cubes. One will have nothing added to it, the other will have
ВЅ tsp of salt sprinkled over it. Each will be separate on two different plates/containers. Time will
be kept with a stopwatch, and notes will be taken throughout the experiment on the percentage of
ice that has melted at certain points in time.
Tools
A timer will be used to record the amount of time it takes each ice cube to melt. As well as a
medicine cup to measure the ВЅ tsp of salt that will be added. The Stopwatch used

Nietzsche Overcoming Nihilism Analysis
Friedrich Nietzsche: Overcoming Nihilism
The understanding of Friedrich Nietzsche s argument suggests that we can overcome nihilism.
Nihilism suggests that all values are untrue and nothing is justifiable, and Nietzsche believes one
can overcome it by revaluating our values (Nietzsche et al. 1887). From the following quote, I
understand that Nietzsche has two main arguments, one of which is a cultural debunking argument
which refers to a social selection and the other is a consequence based argument which is the bad
consequences of us subscribing to the slave morality. Considering these two arguments, Nietzsche
notions that by devaluating our values, one could start seeking power and answers. One final
argument Nietzsche mentions is that we are all incomplete nihilists and we need to become
complete nihilists by creating our own values. All in all, Nietzsche claims that cultural debunking
arguments, consequence based arguments and devaluating our values will help one overcome
nihilism.
Firstly, by culturally debunking theories, Nietzsche believes we can find meaning in something that
is not already there. Nihilism states that existence has no aim , unity or truth to it, making life
valueless as a result (1888). Nietzsche states that we have to put meaning into this fictitious world
and by doing so, we can deposit a true world beyond the world we re familiar with. In premise one
of the cultural debunking argument, Nietzsche states that society has a concern with

How Do Violent Video Games Affect American Culture
Over time, America has evolved both positively and negatively. In fact, our country has changed in
more of a negative way than positive. Violent video games and movies are a source of entertainment
which includes violence that is causing the American culture to decline. The American culture has
become very violent through entertainment.
Video games are a form of entertainment which have violence in them. Some violent video games
are Call of Duty and Star Wars Galaxies. The younger audience love to play these games and
quickly become addicted to them. A news education correspondent stated, Violent games were
defined as those where players acted out the killing, maiming, decapitating or mutilating of other
human characters (Coughlan). Usually, the goal of a violent video game is that humans are targeted
to be killed. A science reporter from the New York Times states, The issue is especially relevant
today, because the games are more realistic and bloodier than ever, and because most American
boys play them at some point. Girls play at lower rates and are significantly less likely to play
violent games (Carey). In society, boys will play more video games and play more violent ones
rather than girls. On the other hand, girls will play videogames lesser and play less violent games
too. In addition, the video games are horrific and traumatic. Carey also ... Show more content on

spiritual by comparison, reflecting her gospel roots of her being a pastor s daughter. During the

enjoyed this track and how she also sang with confidence. Track 3 ( I never loved a man the way
): All I could think of this track is Wow! to me this song was how Aretha Franklin we have come
to know as truly introduced herself to the word as The Queen of Soul. The song starts out with a
nicely played piano and drums which was an intro to start singing. In the first couple of lines I
could feel the pain/emotion in her voice (from 0:08 0:24). I also loved when the trumpets came
in at 0:40, this added a bit of a Jazzy flavor to the song. Track 4 ( Do right woman, do right man ):
This song just happens to also be one of my favorites. This is quite possibly to my understanding
the best version of the song, although Gram Parsons had a good composition. The song is a
combination of beautifully recorded piano and bass instruments. Aretha Franklin s vocals is totally
wonderful and full of emotion, sadness, yet joy all at the same time. I liked the chorus with the
background vocals starting at 1:15, it really gives a groovy

I soon came to the realization that I would have my compositional skills pushed to the limit.
Although I entered the course with a adequate level of competency in writing, I significantly had my
knowledge and skills in academic writing expanded as showcased in the progression of my
assignments. I have learned proper procedure for MLA formatting, as well as proper rhetorical
analysis, as opposed to synopsis. My writing has become more refined as well as focused. I am

As I said in my response, From what Lamott expresses, writing a first draft is more about the
product. (Osom 1). This is something I previously didn t take into account in my earlier writing,
and the most important lesson I learned from the Shitty First Drafts reading. Previously, I was
more interested in sending one final draft as a work for assessment, but this course allowed me
to realized that ultimately that method wasn t the most efficient. I now realize that the process
of a series of draft, specifically the first one allows me to exhaust poor ideas or overall papers
structure, saving the best for last. Within the Watch and Write: When to quote, paraphrase or
summarize video, I gained new perspective on how to efficiently provide citations for the
duration of a paper. This is summarized in the response where I explain, When sources have
been identified they can be credited through three ways, quoting, paraphrasing, and
summarizing. All of these functions serve different purposes. (Osom 1). This quote brings home
the message of my response, and provided new information to me that I previously wasn t aware
regarding these means of citations. While I was clear on quotations and when to use them, I
would previously often fluctuate on paraphrasing and summarizing. I was clear on their
definitions for the most part, but I assignment enlightened me on when which was appropriate.
This clarification, allowed me to progress as a writer and make my works more coherent and
precise. Finally, with the assignment, Genre Awareness and Reflective Writing: Campbell and
Latimer: Combating Formulaic Writing , I was prompted to reevaluate the structure of my

The Law Enforcement Training Program
1.Currently program managers impose upon field commands artificial restrictions to serve in
collateral duties. These artificial restrictions can limit the local command s autonomy to assign the
best qualified member to do the job thereby resulting in lower quality performance for that collateral
duty. The Coast Guard needs to eliminate artificial restrictions imposed on field commands.
2.Law Enforcement Instructors (LEIs) are instrumental in providing initial and refresher law
enforcement training to members of their crew. They are the cornerstone of the law enforcement
training program and necessary to keep multi mission units law enforcement capable. Only LEIs
are permitted to sign off on initial and refresher certification for members training. Reference (a)
requires a member be an E 5 or above in order to be eligible to be assigned as a Law Enforcement

Father of the Renaissance . To be the greatest humanitarian holds much meaning, but most of all it
means to create needed change in the most dire of situations when others will not. Without a doubt,
Petrarch was the greatest humanitarian of all European history, because he had struggled to become

American Dream was well defined a life of wealth, comfort, and exuberance. After a World War I
victory, the Dream was thought to be in the near future for every American. The country was seen
as a world superpower, wealthy after the devastation of a war fought entirely overseas and
brimming with hope and possibility at least on the surface. Despite the highs experienced by much
of the country, it wasn t without its problems. Crime violence was benevolently running the streets
and the Speakeasies beyond the reach of full Prohibition, the world was being set up for The Great
Depression, and America was brimming with members of the Lost... Show more content on

Because of this injury, Jake cannot be with the woman he loves and this plot line serves as a
catalyst for the larger and far more important theme about the American Dream and chasing
everything desired, but never truly being able to achieve these dreams to satiation. Hemingway
portrays the Dream as both an overarching theme of the novel, but also shows us it s failures and
quirks through more minor means. Gender dynamics are broken and often swapped between
characters the protagonist, Jake Barnes, is unable to have sex or reproduce, putting him in a
more effeminate role as a man who must remain celibate for the remainder of his life. To
juxtapose this lack of masculine identity, Hemingway even places Jake opposite Lady Brett
Ashley (Jake s love interest throughout the novel) who self proclaims herself one of the chaps.
She oftens exhibits what has traditionally been considered masculine behavior. Brett has a
rebellious wild streak, smokes and drinks, lacks any religion or fully formed moral beliefs. She s
promiscuous and soon to be a divorcee. Brett seems to emasculate many of the men around her;
both because of her self confident, almost aggressive mannerisms and because of her ability to
collect and throw away men at her slightest whim. Lady Brett is everything (or at least many
aspects) of what Jake might have been the strong, self assured and self satisfied macho man who
believes everything is some

Christmas Music And Religion Essay
We enjoy music Christmas music. Since 2001, we have provided a Christmas CD for neighbors
and friends. We call this our Christmas project. We do this as a means to affirm and share our
belief about Christmas religious and cultural significance. It is the sharing of the same cultural
beliefs and traditions that bind people and society.
Have you noticed, with each passing year, Christmas is becoming more secular? The evidence is all
around us. You cannot escape from the self anointed so called intellectual elite s continuous
denigration about Christmas religious meaning. At the shopping mall, the religious purpose for
Christmas becomes marginal. The mall background music is exclusively about secular topics such
as a snowman, a winter wonderland, or rocking around a tree. Unfortunately, some Contemporary
Christian music radio stations quest for market share and societal acceptance undermine the reason
for the Christmas celebration. Recently, Mitchell took an informal poll on Christmas versus holiday
music played by a Christian music station. After 90 minutes, air time was evenly split between
religious versus secular holiday songs. You would... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

consistent with the religious reason for the Christmas tradition. Vocal selections are from a
multitude of sources, including traditional, contemporary, and country/western music. Most

Advantages of having a distribution center in Mexico
One advantage to having a distribution center located in Mexico is that we wouldn t have to export
the food from America. This will cut down on cost because the consumers will be in a much
closer proximity to our product than if we were headquarter in America. This will allow our
consumers to receive their orders quicker, and more efficiently. Since the products transportation
time will be cut down, this will result in fresher food for the customers. Another advantage is we
will be contributing to the growth of the Mexican economy by hiring local citizens. This will also
be beneficial to us because the Mexican minimum wage is less than that in the United States.

Ice Fili cannot rely on their contractors to have the same level of motivation to constantly be
supplying retailers and thus cannot hope to compete against firms like Nestle with their existing
strategy. Essential to having a working distribution strategy is choosing where to distribute.
Currently Ice Fili focuses on supplying their products to kiosks, gastronoms, and minimarts. They
seem to be ignoring the rapidly growing trend in sales for larger quantities of product being sold
in supermarkets. Competitors such as Nestle have been supplying supermarkets internationally for
quite some time and thus have a distinct advantage over domestic Russian producers. This will
serve as either a major threat or a major opportunity for Ice Fili as this market is fairly new to
Russia and has yet to be divided up between competitors. Marketing Lack of ability to build up
strong marketing mix is the common and the most vulnerable point amongst Russian producers.
Contrarily, foreign companies have been showing off their matured marketing skills in the industry.
This is attributable to the fact that Russian managements are not used to building marketing
strategy, having used to enjoy a time without pressure of marketing under the state run economy
system during Soviet era. Consequently the company s marketing mix is uncoordinated to the
extent that its brand identity is ambiguous. The most critical thing that has blurred

Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde Reason Vs Supernatural
The psychological thriller novella Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde written by Robert Louis Stevenson, has
a variety of themes, motifs, and symbols, the most important and most prominent being reason vs.
the supernatural. This theme can be interpreted as logic against religion, making the idea even more
applicable. Reason against the supernatural is the salient theme of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, it is a
theme depicted throughout the novella. The personages in the novella, as well as the general public
of the Victorian era, were extremely illogical in their reasonings. Scientific theories had not been
established at the time, leading many to remain unreasonable on the topic of the supernatural. With
the most pertinent idea of the book being reason vs. the supernatural, it is mentioned in every
chapter of the novella, proving the importance of this theme.
A common issue among Victorians was science vs. religion, with many believing they should pick
a side per say. The characters shown in this novella seem to have adhered to the side of religion. It

Lab Report: Environmental Control of Sex Determination
Introduction
Ceratopteris richardii, known as a C fern has a lifecycle referred to as alteration of generations,
which consist of neither haploid nor diploid dominant. C ferns are homospours plants which are
important in that they can produce hermaphrioditic gametophytes in order to be able to self
fertilize. However, some of the homospourous C ferns only produce male gametophytes .The life
cycle of Ceratopteris richardii starts as a diploid sporophyte which then, by meiosis, produces
haploid spores. These spores then undergo mitosis to produce a haploid gametophyte, which can be
either hermaphrodite( producing eggs and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Results The graph of our results showed the percentage of male gametophytes increasing and then
leveling off (Figure 1). This was our trend because most of the points followed this pattern,
however; there was a potential outlier at point (68, 32.3). The distribution of gametophytes on the
culture plates varied. Plates A and F had even distribution but were very crowed with gametophytes,
while plates D and C were evenly distributed but had less gametophytes. Plate E had clumping of
gametophytes in the top left corner and plate B had clumping the the bottom right corner.
Figure 1. The relationship between the population density and the percentage of male gametophytes.
Discussion
The prediction that the percentage of male gametophytes would increase as the population density
of the gametophytes increased, and the prediction that the percentage of male gametophytes would
decrease as the population density of the gametophytes increased were not supported by our results.
When the population density was low, the percentage of male gametophytes was relatively low
because there would not be enough eggs to fertilize the sperm produced from both the
hermaphrodite, and the sperm produced by the male gametophyte. When the population density was
high, the percentage of male gametophytes was higher but still less than fifty percent because of the
same reasons. The data from our results did support our

The Effect of Global Warming on the Napa Valley,...
The Effect of Global Warming on the Napa Valley, California Wine Economy
Global warming will have a negative effect on the Napa Valley, California wine economy. This
will be caused primarily by the gradual increase in seasonal temperatures and the resulting longer
and drier growing seasons.
California revenue directly related to the Napa Valley wineindustry is $16.5 billion a year (1). With
the United States ranking fourth in world wine grape production with over 80% of these grapes
coming from California (1). Over the last half century, in the main wine producing regions of
California, Oregon and Washington, the average year round temperatures have increased by 5

Scientists predict that climate change may shift production of the best wines from places like
Napa Valley to vineyards in the Pacific Northwest and New England, locations that have
traditionally been considered too cool for wine production (3). This would not only be devastating
economically to the wine industry in Napa but also to the billion dollar tourist industry associated
with grape growing and wine production in the Napa Valley.
Not everyone agrees that global warming will be bad for wine production in Napa Valley. Some
scientist predict that the warmer temperatures in the upper Napa Valley may shift south a little,
not necessarily meaning hotter hots, but making a bigger percentage of the valley warmer (2).
In this climate model mountaintops will either stay the same or cool slightly due to increased
fog. It may be that the state of California overall will be warmer by about 5 degrees Fahrenheit by
2055 to 2075, with 15 more days of temperatures over 90 degrees, but with marine influence and
the predicted increase in fog, the California model won t necessarily be the Napa Valley reality (2).
Dr. Snyder, from the University of California at Davis, summarized the results of a study on Napa
Valley weather patterns between 1917 and 2006 and came to the conclusion that from a grower s
standpoint, the weather has actually improved (6). It

Australia, A Country Of Australia By John Bryson
Australia is a country of a very unique caliber. Beginning this book, I was not aware of much about
Australia. The things that is mostly displayed about the country is that they have kangaroos and
very large deserts. Bryson does a great job of describing the culture and events that can be enjoyed.
He uses his own experiences to inform the reader of the adventure and excitement that resides in the
country. Each trip that the author takes teaches about a new realm of Australialife. Bryson begins
his novel by explaining the development of the continent and its very abstract historic mold.
Australia began as a location that the British wanted to use to exile convicts in the late 1700 s. The
continent was already populated by the native people known as Aborigines. The colonization of
Australia had a demoralizing impact on the Aboriginal people. They had to withstand the
dispossession of their land, illness and death from European diseases and huge disturbance to their
traditional lifestyles and distinct way of social interaction. By the 1820s, many settlers and now
freed convicts had turned land they received from the government into flourishing farms. They
began to move deeper into Aboriginal territories, leaving little for the native to possess. With so
many European and French settlers coming to the country, while in search for agricultural benefits,
gold was discovered in the southeastern boundaries of the country in 1851. The lust for gold lured

Believer Creators
Without a question, people are always the most valuable assets of any organization. It takes a
person to create the idea for any business or non profit enterprise and people to implement on
that vision and make it genuinely lifelike. All other resources have to be assigned to or managed
by people. All organizations begin as a thought in the mind of one or more individuals. That
vision is shared with others who may become employees. An employee will perform better or at
his peak when he has a positive perception of the work he is doing and his organization. When an
organization believes in its people, it does everything in its power to keep them happy and

Christian Leadership Philosophy
The word leadership is defined as a person who directs or guides someone and has the ability to
influence or have an impact on their lives. Christian leadership is distinctively different from other
major leadership conceptions such as instructional, transactional, and transformational leadership
conceptions. Those who live as humble servants of Christ, should assume the position of leadership
in any given community such as CBU s International Service Program (ISP), because you can
turn someone s life around just by your actions and you will be setting an example for believers.
In Mark 16:15 Jesus said, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Doing ISP
plays a role in leadership and you would be doing what God s calling all believers to do. In John
10:11 Jesus declares, I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the
sheep. Within this verse, we see the perfect description of a Christian leader. Jesus is referring to
us as sheep, He was not speaking in affectionate terms. In the bible, sheep rank among the dumbest
animals in creation. The shepherd is the leader of the herd, without him, the sheep are lost,

Billabong may diversify its production by foreign direct investments in the U.S. e.g. set up local
production plants. In case of appreciation in AUD against USD, the price competitiveness of
products would not be weakened as compared with local products. Flexible sourcing could be
applied to allow switch of production from one country to another. Learning from Stanley Black
Decker, Billabong could reduce its import to the U.S. and export more from the U.S. production
plant to other countries when USD depreciate against other currencies. This help to create long
term economic competitiveness in the U.S. market.
For diversification of market, a more balanced market distribution is recommended. The current
position of Billabong is highly dependent on the Americas segment with almost half of the
revenues. If the situation continues, trading in other segments cannot help if the Americas segment
fails. Revenues when diversify in different currencies could be better secured from the economic

The Great Depression of the 1930 s was the worst economic time for Americans because of the
lack of money circulation when the stocks crashed. Over two million homeless people lived in
America during that time so they, built shantytowns on the outskirts of cities or along roadways.
The areas were plagued by crime and disease. (Callan 12). In addition, they were probably not

For example, for a vector function u(x), such as a displacement, a discontinuity on f (x) is
introduced by u(x) =ГҐi
Ni(x)
ui+aiH( f (x))
: where ai is a column matrix of the same dimension as ui.
The construction of discontinuities of a single component in a vector function is simplified by the
use of the signed distance function. The unit normal to the line of discontinuity is given by en =

1.5. NUMERICAL EXAMPLE: ONE DIMENSIONAL BI MATERIAL BAR [? ]
Although a signed distance function should have a unit gradient, we normalize it here since this
should be done in a computation. The tangent plane is then defined by any two unit vectors
orthogonal to en.
We illustrate the construction of the approximation in 2D. The discontinuity in the tangential
component is obtained by letting the displacement field in the elements cut by the discontinuity be
given by u(x) =ГҐi
Ni(x)
ui+aiet(x)H( f (x))

Biological Weapons And Its Uses
Introduction
Dating back to the 1100 s there have been records of the use of biological weapons in warfare.
This involved the usage of human and animal corpses to pollute water sources and to spread
diseases. Post World War One increased interest in biological weapons lead to them becoming
more advanced. With this improvement it is evident that warfare has evolved. This progression
in warfare can be seen when looking at the manner in which wars were fought prior to the
introduction of biological weapons in the 1100 s, and comparing it to the manner in which they
were fought succeeding the advancement of these weapons in the 1900 s. Although biological
weapons have rarely been used, their effects on warfare are apparent. When studying biological
weapons one must deliberate on the factors that have driven its use and creation as well as the
responses and threats thereof. This essay will therefore focus on depicting biological weapons and
their uses throughout history; beginning with its most medieval applications in siege warfare and
comparing it to its various uses in World War One, Japan in the 1920 s , the Cold Warand the
Persian Gulf War. The reasons as to why biological weapons have been used and created differ in
each circumstance, ranging from its advantageousness in imperialism to its role in instilling fear.
Furthermore, to properly determine the impact of biological weapons on warfare this essay will
examine the outcomes of its use. With the main response being the

Obesity is now seen as a major epidemic. In Australia, overweight and obesity affects more than
half of the population. This epidemic iscommon at all ages, in all parts of Australia and throughout
all population groups. It is aworldwide problem and has been observed over the last twenty years in

Essay On Muscle Contraction
The Correlation between Eccentric Strength and Agility in Male Field Sport Athletes.
There are three types of muscle contraction, isotonic, isometric and isokinetic. There are two
isotonic contractions, concentric and eccentric. A concentric contraction is a shortening of the
muscle fibres, an example of this being a bicep curl causing a concentric contraction on the biceps
brachii causing the elbow to flex. An eccentric contraction is the opposite of this. During an
eccentric contraction as the muscle contracts the muscle fibres lengthen. An eccentric contraction is
important in deceleration where the quadriceps lengthen to slow down the limb. This type of
contraction should transfer into agility as athletes with greater eccentric strength ... Show more

Agility has been described as a rapid whole body movement with change of velocity or direction
in response to a stimulus . (Sheppard et al, 2006) This description identifies the inclusion of
cognitive skills in determining agility. This definition applies to open skills only. Open skills
cannot be pre planned, however closed skills, such as sprinting or previously planned changes of
direction, can be planned in advance. This is very important in every field sport as the ability to
react quickly and allow the movements to match these reactions enhances performance. Many field
sports require straight line running speed but more often than not fast change of direction is a
defining factor of an athlete s performance. Fast change of direction speed and ability to make the
right decision in a game situation makes for an excellent athlete.
Many tests have been designed to test for change of direction speed. The 5 0 5 test is a timed
agility test using rapid 180 degree turns and straight line speed. The Illinois test is a timed agility
test using straight line speed and many multi directional changes. The Zig zag test is a good
indication of multiple directional changes. It is a timed test where the athlete must round cones set
out in a figure 8.
Subjects used in this study were 10 male soccer players. The agility test that was chosen to best
simulate this sport was the 5 0 5 agility test. This was due to the quick, snappy change

Temple, a religious organization that hit its stride in the mid 1970s. Jones and his Temple are
best known for the mass murder/suicide that was executed Guyana in 1978. Over 900 people
drank cyanide laced Kool Aid at Jones command, an action that Jones referred to as revolutionary
suicide protesting the conditions of an inhumane world (Stept). Someone watching Jones at work
gathering followers for the Temple and spreading the Temple s vision would never have been

Jones consistency in his vision and dedication to Jonestown were his biggest strength in his
management of trust. His followers were able to trust him because of his unwavering belief in
his vision and opinions. Jones also always had strong management of self. In his youth, he
discovered his natural speaking skill and his ability to manipulate. Over time, he worked toward
developing these talents and used them extensively to spread his vision. He knew his talents so
well that he was even able to choose his most efficient medium, religion, through which to push
his vision. He was attracted to organized religion mostly because it was a place where he could
use his excellent oratory skills and ability to coerce people into doing what he wanted them to,
and therefore served as the best vehicle for his goal of social change (Wikipedia). Out of Bennis
ten competencies of dynamic leaders, Jim Jones strongly exhibits four. The trait of self
knowledge and the competency of management of self are defined almost identically, so the
previously discussed qualities that give him strong self management are the same qualities that
exemplify his strong self knowledge. Jones was also a risk taker, which is obvious is almost
every serious decision he ever made. He created what was essentially a brand new branch of
religion. He rented 4000 acres of land in Guyana with the goal that people would choose to spend
their lives there, but without any real commitment from

Barbara Ehrenreich s Nickel And Dimed
Several things can influence how a person performs: gender, race, and even class. In a sense,
class could be considered the easiest thing to perform, and can also change the quickest. Nothing
needs to be drastically, physically changed in order to perform a different class than the one a
person is a part of. However, performing up or down in class takes a lot of effort. When someone
performs up in class, they were persecuted and looked down upon compared to someone who
performs down. By using the excerpt Serving in Florida from Nickel and Dimed by Barbara
Ehrenreichand the play, Six Degrees of Separation, by John Guare, we see how performing
different classes than the one each person is a part affect themselves and those around them In
Barbara Ehrenreich s Nickel and Dimed, Barbara went undercover to perform and learn about a
class that was not her own. Although it was for only a month, Barbara struggled to keep up the
effort and survive in a lower class than she was accustomed to. Even so, her co workers and the
people she met along the way did not realize she was performing down in her class. Maybe this
was because the people she surrounded herself with were also in similar class situations where
the fight to survive was more difficult, not allowing much space in thoughts for other people s life
stories. In Six Degrees of Separation, Paul performed up in class in search of friendship and
acceptance. Paul s performances, in terms of race, is cynical,

Many lives are on the line; innocent babies can be killed. Agreeing on dividing the Ugli oranges so

To resolve the conflict, both parties should follow certain rules that will help make the conflict
resolution process go smoothly. It is recommended that both sides used clear, concise languages.
Both sides should take the time to listen to each other s concern. The parties should not feel
threatening by the situation or forced to do anything that they do not want to do. After the
discussion, both parties should be able to leave the room content with the decision they agreed

They are many different ways to approach a conflict, Thomas kilmann develop five ways that a

decision is based on personal gain. Someone who is competing will not care about others feelings.
This person will do everything possible to win the conflict. They do not back down whatever the
situation might be all they think about is winning the fight and make everything in their favors.
The second way a person can resolve a conflict is by accommodating. Accommodating during a

Essay on The Cheating Hearts of Men
The Cheating Hearts of Men
In writing this paper, I am setting out to answer a question that has been plaguing women for
many years. Why do men cheat on us? Is it something us women do that causes it? Is it something
they are taught is ok somewhere along the way? Does it have to do with the fact that their genitalia
are on the outside? Or is there no logical explanation in the universe for it? (I m leaning towards
the last one, but hey, that s just me.) Men always seem to have an explanation for their behavior, or
more likely, an excuse. These excuses have been known to range from blaming the woman they are
cheating on to trying to get back at her for something. Having more than just some personal
experience with being cheated on, I m ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What I learned from this is that men will cheat as long as they can justify that they are not doing
something wrong because it is not their fault.
For the next part of my research, I consulted some magazines that I had around my house. I found
an article in the January 2004 issue of Cosmopolitan that was helpful in explaining one of the
theories on why men cheat. According to Shirley Glass, PhD, many men who cheat come from
chauvinistic cultures or families where their fathers cheated. Another point brought up by Glass in
this article is that men feel that as long as they do not love the other woman, that it is simply a
physical thing, then they are not really cheating (Koli). I guess what Glass is saying is that
cheating, like abuse or alcoholism, can be a cycle that runs in families. If a man grows up watching
his father cheat on his mother, then he is being taught that it is an acceptable practice. Also, men
feel that if they do not break their emotional promise to their significant other, then they are not
doing anything wrong. While I think the first one is understandable and a valid point, I feel the
second is yet another excuse men use to justify an unjustifiable action.
Still not satisfied with the answers I had, I went looking for more. I accessed the ProQuest search
engine through the Penn State library system in order to search for more articles. The first article,
which was originally published in the April 2001 issue

Analyse using sacred scripture and a variety of sources the principle teachings about peace in Judaism and Christianity and how these teachings impact on the life of each adherent s tradition, as a means of achieving inner peace. Living and perpetuating a life of peace are central to the Christian and Jewish religious expressions. The teachings of peace which underpin both Christianity and Judaism are existent in their sacred texts; The Bible for Christians, The Torah and Mishnah Torah for Jewish adherents. Albeit peace is of paramount importance to both traditions, the concept of peace is expressed differently. Christians believe the only way complete peace can be attained is through the full acceptance of Jesus Christ, the incarnate. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In (Matthew 6:6 NIV), Jesus explains the merits of praying to the lord God and the reward of inner peace, But whenever you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret: and your father who sees in secret will reward you. It is through this conversation with God that Christians pursue peace in their lives. Prayer can either be private or communal, spontaneous prayer is one way that charismatic communities can come closer to God. The act of prayer allows believers to have a personal conversation with God; it alleviates stress attributed to the monotony of everyday life. Besides prayer, meditation is another way of attaining inner peace, it is an ancient practice within the Christian tradition, which has undertaken a recent revival, a global group that reaffirms the concept of praying and meditating for inner peace is TaizГ©. Not as popular as prayer and meditation, Lectio Divina, generally known as bible studies is a way for Christians to feel connected to God and to finally attain inner peace. The studying of the sacred scriptures on a day to day basis and reflecting on prayers also maintain a continual connection with God. It is vital to maintain equilibrium between prayer and service, whereby an individual fathoms the notion ora et labora , in order to equally partake in both prayer, and the concept of action whereby ora develops inner peace, which is mirrored through the ... This helped me pick out what information I wanted to include in my speech. I used one Sunday to the write the bulk of my paper, as well as my speech outline. I was expecting to give our speeches earlier than when we started, so I started practicing my speech early. I had time to memorize all that I could and used notecards for specific dates and facts. When I got up in front of the audience, I became really nervous even though I was well prepared. I could feel my hands shaking and my heart beating. The feeling of dread I got in the middle of my speech was definitely unexpected. I ve never had that feeling when practicing my speech before. I also presented one of my pictures out of order, which I didn t think I would do. I had the times I clicked to the next picture written out on my notecards, but I think I just clicked through because of nervousness. I procrastinated a lot on my shield speech, and I went first, so I didn t have as much time to prepare as I did with my informative speech. The Importance Of Volunteering For Your Volunteer Service There are a number of ways in which I plan to make a difference to the world, one way of offering my volunteer services to a number of organizations that I am assisting with. As a member the AAUW of Redlands I plan to make a difference by committing to help support local women in the community that hope to empower themselves in many aspects of their lives. Volunteeringfor me means that I am able to provide support to anyone that needs it thus, this not only enable s me to meet new people, but make friends and form a lasting relationship with others that have the same vision and drive as me. I believe that volunteering is just one form of how you can help make a difference to someone, but there are simpler ways to make a difference too, such as helping your disabled neighbor with running errands and picking up a few items from the local grocery store for them. This is what I do for my neighbor and she appreciates the helpand I feel a sense of satisfaction that I have helped make life little easier for my neighbor. We support each other when we can and it is quite a blessing to be able to help and support each other when in need. I also help at my son s soccer team as a parent volunteer in the CAPS Program run by the Loma Linda UniversityChurch. This essay will be exploring Taylorism and its influence on Fordism and mcdonaldization. Fredrick, Winslow, Taylor was an American engineer who was also a managing consultant at the turn of the 20th century when industrialisation was in full bloom. Before when the car was moved around the workers or the assemblers, it took them a total of 12hours to complete one car from start to finish but after moving the car past the worker it was reduced to 93 minutes for the completion of one car. Ford broke down each task of making a car from simplifying all the processes including making a wheel into simple respective steps and even assembling. Each worker became a specialist in their task. Inevitably there was no need to hire crafts men or skilled workers because they could easily select and train workers or farm boys for a specific job. By incorporating scientific management or aspect of Taylorism Ford managed to double the going wage rate per day to 5 us dollars a day. He had no need to hire skilled craftsmen with years of training as he could simply hire workers, train them to do a specific task and do any job quickly. In addition, he provided jobs to incoming immigrants as long as they worked fast and obeyed orders. • 10. Presidential Elections And The Political Integration Of... The 2016 Presidential Elections and the Political Integration of Data Analytics The 2016 election cycle pits Democrat Hillary Clinton against Republican nominee Donald J. Trump. After the success of Barrack Obama s data analytics, Clinton continued their adoption of data analytics, this time developing a new algorithm called Ada after the female, 19th century mathematician, Ada, Countess of Lovelace (Wagner, 2016) and having Obama s former data analytics director, Elan Kriegel, as one of the highest paid staff of her campaign (Goldmacher, Hillary Clinton s Invisible Guiding Hand , 2016). Clinton s dependence with analytics is so entrenched that a lot of their campaign decisions are based upon the results of Ada s 400,000 simulations per day on what a head to head with Trump would look like. Moreover, Ada, played a vital role in determining the television ad buys, the deployment of the candidate and her surrogates up to when to be scarce and be silent on the issues. Even the staging of concerts with artists like Jay Z and BeyoncГ© was chiefly based upon Ada s data driven analysis (Wagner, 2016) (Goldmacher, Hillary Clinton s Invisible Guiding Hand , 2016). Contrary to the Clinton campaign, Trump is not quick to adopt big data in his presidential bid. The Republican nominee has always been critical towards data analytics and heavily relied on his own appeal. I ve always felt it was overrated, Trump said in an Associated Press interview. • 11. Int1 Task 3 Essay INT Task 3 Does Salt make Ice melt Faster? Project Plan Salt is known to be used on icy roads in certain areas of the country in the winter season to help clear roadways to make them safer for travel. Salt causes a reaction that lowers the freezing point of water. In this experiment we will test this method of applying salt to ice to see if for certain this is true, and how much faster the salt melts if so. In this experiment, the Independent Variable will be adding Salt to the ice and the Dependent variable will be the time it takes the ice to melt. The Plan is to use two ice cubes in separate containers, and add ice to only one of these. Each will be timed and observed for the duration it takes both to melt, and data will be ... For instance, the percentage of the ice cube that has melted at 5 minutes, 20 minutes, etc. Reasoning I chose this method to keep the two Ice cubes separated during the experiment, and to see the two individual results of adding salt, or adding nothing to the ice. Keeping the Ice cubes separate allows no error in collecting data on each individual subject. Adding salt to one will not interfere with data collected on the ice cube melting with no additives. Some studies were very similar, but most used many different substances to test how quickly Ice would melt. These included for instance Sugar, and Sand. Sequence of Events: The experiment will start with two ice cubes. One will have nothing added to it, the other will have ВЅ tsp of salt sprinkled over it. Each will be separate on two different plates/containers. Time will be kept with a stopwatch, and notes will be taken throughout the experiment on the percentage of ice that has melted at certain points in time. • 12. Nietzsche Overcoming Nihilism Analysis Friedrich Nietzsche: Overcoming Nihilism The understanding of Friedrich Nietzsche s argument suggests that we can overcome nihilism. Nihilism suggests that all values are untrue and nothing is justifiable, and Nietzsche believes one can overcome it by revaluating our values (Nietzsche et al. 1887). From the following quote, I understand that Nietzsche has two main arguments, one of which is a cultural debunking argument which refers to a social selection and the other is a consequence based argument which is the bad consequences of us subscribing to the slave morality. Considering these two arguments, Nietzsche notions that by devaluating our values, one could start seeking power and answers. One final argument Nietzsche mentions is that we are all incomplete nihilists and we need to become complete nihilists by creating our own values. All in all, Nietzsche claims that cultural debunking arguments, consequence based arguments and devaluating our values will help one overcome nihilism. Firstly, by culturally debunking theories, Nietzsche believes we can find meaning in something that is not already there. Nihilism states that existence has no aim , unity or truth to it, making life valueless as a result (1888). Nietzsche states that we have to put meaning into this fictitious world and by doing so, we can deposit a true world beyond the world we re familiar with. Violent video games and movies are a source of entertainment which includes violence that is causing the American culture to decline. The American culture has become very violent through entertainment. Video games are a form of entertainment which have violence in them. Some violent video games are Call of Duty and Star Wars Galaxies. The younger audience love to play these games and quickly become addicted to them. A news education correspondent stated, Violent games were defined as those where players acted out the killing, maiming, decapitating or mutilating of other human characters (Coughlan). Usually, the goal of a violent video game is that humans are targeted to be killed. A science reporter from the New York Times states, The issue is especially relevant today, because the games are more realistic and bloodier than ever, and because most American boys play them at some point. Girls play at lower rates and are significantly less likely to play violent games (Carey). In society, boys will play more video games and play more violent ones rather than girls. Track 3 ( I never loved a man the way ): All I could think of this track is Wow! to me this song was how Aretha Franklin we have come to know as truly introduced herself to the word as The Queen of Soul. This is quite possibly to my understanding the best version of the song, although Gram Parsons had a good composition. The song is a combination of beautifully recorded piano and bass instruments. I had imagined there being few assignments with the guidelines for papers and assignments being broad. I soon came to the realization that I would have my compositional skills pushed to the limit. Although I entered the course with a adequate level of competency in writing, I significantly had my knowledge and skills in academic writing expanded as showcased in the progression of my assignments. I have learned proper procedure for MLA formatting, as well as proper rhetorical analysis, as opposed to synopsis. My writing has become more refined as well as focused. As I said in my response, From what Lamott expresses, writing a first draft is more about the product. (Osom 1). This is something I previously didn t take into account in my earlier writing, and the most important lesson I learned from the Shitty First Drafts reading. Previously, I was more interested in sending one final draft as a work for assessment, but this course allowed me to realized that ultimately that method wasn t the most efficient. I now realize that the process of a series of draft, specifically the first one allows me to exhaust poor ideas or overall papers structure, saving the best for last. Within the Watch and Write: When to quote, paraphrase or summarize video, I gained new perspective on how to efficiently provide citations for the duration of a paper. This is summarized in the response where I explain, When sources have been identified they can be credited through three ways, quoting, paraphrasing, and summarizing. All of these functions serve different purposes. (Osom 1). This quote brings home the message of my response, and provided new information to me that I previously wasn t aware regarding these means of citations. While I was clear on quotations and when to use them, I would previously often fluctuate on paraphrasing and summarizing. I was clear on their definitions for the most part, but I assignment enlightened me on when which was appropriate. This clarification, allowed me to progress as a writer and make my works more coherent and precise. Finally, with the assignment, Genre Awareness and Reflective Writing: Campbell and Latimer: Combating Formulaic Writing , I was prompted to reevaluate the structure of my writing and whether or not I was being governed by a formula for my essays and other writings. Gender dynamics are broken and often swapped between characters the protagonist, Jake Barnes, is unable to have sex or reproduce, putting him in a more effeminate role as a man who must remain celibate for the remainder of his life. To juxtapose this lack of masculine identity, Hemingway even places Jake opposite Lady Brett Ashley (Jake s love interest throughout the novel) who self proclaims herself one of the chaps. She oftens exhibits what has traditionally been considered masculine behavior. Brett has a rebellious wild streak, smokes and drinks, lacks any religion or fully formed moral beliefs. Australia began as a location that the British wanted to use to exile convicts in the late 1700 s. The continent was already populated by the native people known as Aborigines. The colonization of Australia had a demoralizing impact on the Aboriginal people. By the 1820s, many settlers and now freed convicts had turned land they received from the government into flourishing farms. They began to move deeper into Aboriginal territories, leaving little for the native to possess. In Mark 16:15 Jesus said, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Doing ISP plays a role in leadership and you would be doing what God s calling all believers to do. In John 10:11 Jesus declares, I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. Within this verse, we see the perfect description of a Christian leader. Jesus is referring to us as sheep, He was not speaking in affectionate terms. In the bible, sheep rank among the dumbest animals in creation. Australian dollar Essay Question 2 a) A fall in the value of the Australian dollar (AUD) against the U.S. dollar (USD) benefit Billabong in two folds, strengthened price competitiveness and translation advantage. Firstly, the Americas segment accounts for about 50% of Billabong s sales revenue in 2008 and 2009. (Appx.1) In case of depreciation of AUD against USD, the price of imported surfwear to the U.S. in terms of USD will decrease. The US importers demand more for Billabong s products. The sales increases from the strengthened price competitiveness. Secondly, when Billabong received payment from the importers, it will translated back into AUD for use in Australia. Billabong may diversify its production by foreign direct investments in the U.S. e.g. set up local production plants. In case of appreciation in AUD against USD, the price competitiveness of products would not be weakened as compared with local products. Flexible sourcing could be applied to allow switch of production from one country to another. Learning from Stanley Black Decker, Billabong could reduce its import to the U.S. and export more from the U.S. production plant to other countries when USD depreciate against other currencies. This help to create long term economic competitiveness in the U.S. market. For diversification of market, a more balanced market distribution is recommended. The current position of Billabong is highly dependent on the Americas segment with almost half of the revenues. If the situation continues, trading in other segments cannot help if the Americas segment fails. The Great Depression of the 1930 s was the worst economic time for Americans because of the lack of money circulation when the stocks crashed. Over two million homeless people lived in America during that time so they, built shantytowns on the outskirts of cities or along roadways. The areas were plagued by crime and disease. (Callan 12). Discontinuities in derivatives of solutions occur wherever the coefficients of the governing partial differential equation are discontinuous. • 42. Biological Weapons And Its Uses Introduction Dating back to the 1100 s there have been records of the use of biological weapons in warfare. This involved the usage of human and animal corpses to pollute water sources and to spread diseases. Post World War One increased interest in biological weapons lead to them becoming more advanced. With this improvement it is evident that warfare has evolved. This progression in warfare can be seen when looking at the manner in which wars were fought prior to the introduction of biological weapons in the 1100 s, and comparing it to the manner in which they were fought succeeding the advancement of these weapons in the 1900 s. Although biological weapons have rarely been used, their effects on warfare are apparent. When studying biological weapons one must deliberate on the factors that have driven its use and creation as well as the responses and threats thereof. This essay will therefore focus on depicting biological weapons and their uses throughout history; beginning with its most medieval applications in siege warfare and comparing it to its various uses in World War One, Japan in the 1920 s , the Cold Warand the Persian Gulf War. The reasons as to why biological weapons have been used and created differ in each circumstance, ranging from its advantageousness in imperialism to its role in instilling fear. Furthermore, to properly determine the impact of biological weapons on warfare this essay will examine the outcomes of its use. With the main response being the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are three types of muscle contraction, isotonic, isometric and isokinetic. There are two isotonic contractions, concentric and eccentric. A concentric contraction is a shortening of the muscle fibres, an example of this being a bicep curl causing a concentric contraction on the biceps brachii causing the elbow to flex. An eccentric contraction is the opposite of this. During an eccentric contraction as the muscle contracts the muscle fibres lengthen. Agility has been described as a rapid whole body movement with change of velocity or direction in response to a stimulus . (Sheppard et al, 2006) This description identifies the inclusion of cognitive skills in determining agility. This definition applies to open skills only. Open skills cannot be pre planned, however closed skills, such as sprinting or previously planned changes of direction, can be planned in advance. This is very important in every field sport as the ability to react quickly and allow the movements to match these reactions enhances performance. Many field sports require straight line running speed but more often than not fast change of direction is a defining factor of an athlete s performance. Fast change of direction speed and ability to make the right decision in a game situation makes for an excellent athlete. Many tests have been designed to test for change of direction speed. The 5 0 5 test is a timed agility test using rapid 180 degree turns and straight line speed. The Illinois test is a timed agility test using straight line speed and many multi directional changes. Why do men cheat on us? Is it something us women do that causes it? Is it something they are taught is ok somewhere along the way? Does it have to do with the fact that their genitalia are on the outside? Or is there no logical explanation in the universe for it? (I m leaning towards the last one, but hey, that s just me.) These excuses have been known to range from blaming the woman they are cheating on to trying to get back at her for something. What I learned from this is that men will cheat as long as they can justify that they are not doing something wrong because it is not their fault. For the next part of my research, I consulted some magazines that I had around my house. I found an article in the January 2004 issue of Cosmopolitan that was helpful in explaining one of the theories on why men cheat. According to Shirley Glass, PhD, many men who cheat come from chauvinistic cultures or families where their fathers cheated. Another point brought up by Glass in this article is that men feel that as long as they do not love the other woman, that it is simply a physical thing, then they are not really cheating (Koli). I guess what Glass is saying is that cheating, like abuse or alcoholism, can be a cycle that runs in families. If a man grows up watching his father cheat on his mother, then he is being taught that it is an acceptable practice. Also, men feel that if they do not break their emotional promise to their significant other, then they are not doing anything wrong. While I think the first one is understandable and a valid point, I feel the second is yet another excuse men use to justify an unjustifiable action.
