effects; change will continuously mold the individual by challenging its perception of its
surroundings and itself. In many ways, change causes development and maturity, yet it also
causes decline and decay. Change is constant. However, the paradox of change is often difficult to
accept, and people will fight with its reality throughout their lifetimes: friends will come and go,
epiphanies and advances will arrive, and things will never quite be like they used to be. The
struggle between change and the individual is a recurring part of Ray Bradbury s Dandelion Wine.
This relationship shows not only through the main character, Doug Spaulding, but also through
those around him. Doug and the rest of Green Town show how people contend with changes in that
which they know, those whom they know, and even themselves.
Many of Doug s favorite parts of Green Town become altered in some way during the summer of
1928. No more trolley. Bus starts to run tomorrow. Going to retire me with a pension, they are

Dead Man s Folly has many strengths and weaknesses. One strength is the author establishes
right away in the beginning that someone might be murdered, so it was as if i could look for
clues and suspicious behaviors at the same time as Poirot.The vocabulary was overall fairly easy,
so it wasn t too difficult to read. A weakness would be that I had a hard time getting into the book
because the beginning was quite boring. I wish Agatha Christie would have gotten into the mystery

light imagery to link the two aspects of nature; the luminous stars of the night and golden daffodils

people in the United States each year, mostly children, and tens of thousands of people died
(National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases 2). These diseases, today, have mostly been
eradicated by the use of vaccinations. Although vaccines are said to reduce the chance of receiving
certain infections or diseases, controversial ideas believe that the MMR vaccinecan cause autism
spectrum disorder. Autism is a developmental disorder that impairs communication and interaction;
it has no confirmed cause. Usually, a child begins to show signs of autism around 12 to 18 months,
which is also the same age when a child receives the MMR vaccine. Because of this correlation,
apprehensive parents are choosing to not vaccinate their children. Now, an increasing amount of
children are receiving certain diseases that have been dormant in the United States for years.
Nervous parents should educate themselves about the risks of vaccines, but should also know that
the consequences of not vaccinating outweigh the minor side effects. Studies, stories and statistics
