Young Youth Display Anti Social Behavior
However not all young youth display anti social behavior while others are deeply influence peer
pressure and wanted to look cool researcher from The MORI demonstrated that 60% of young people
between 10 and 17 years of age wanted more police on the street as protections while 38% wanted
harder treatment for their peer who committed an offence, Hopkin Burke, 2011 (cited in Barnard
2011). Although Smith, (2013). Argued that seemed to be discord in the balancing neo liberal and neo
conservative approaches within such communities may vary regionally. Both New Labour and

local implementation of social inclusion policies. Both government also share the belief the
eradication of delay was important illegitimacy and the cost effectiveness with the justice system.
While Maguire, Morgan, and, Robert, (2012) have suggested the delay within the system was sending
a message to the youth that nobody care about them. Although Roger, (2005) have highlighted that

some test at some deployments intentionally.
Automation testing reduces human technical risks
The developers who worked on the application may change work or else choose to bring projects in
house to have it developed and /or maintained by our own staff as automated test facilitate code
refactoring. With the automated test on hand developer can change the code and run the test to easily
and find out that the changes made have impacted the system or not.
Automated testing is more powerful and versatile
As for a tester it is difficult to manually create 100 users to check if the app meets performance
requirements as for example to check if the generation of statistics from the number of users will take
1 second. With automated test we can change the creation date for the objects in database. Automated
testing allows tackling the challenges easily.

Domestic Violence And The Civil Rights Movement
Women have been active since the beginning of the early 1800 s and struggle until today s day, to fight
for equality. There were two women movement waves. The first wave was focused on the equality of
the women by working on voting rights. The second wave from 1963 to 1982 concentrated on social
issues. As in Collective Action for Social Change , Aaron Schutz and Marie Sandy stated in their book
women were tired of being second class citizens . The civil rights movement spillover inspired women
to create social movements by acting and building organizations focused on the issues that affected the
women. The social issues were child care, domestic violence, contraception, and women s health. One
of the major topics that the feminists focused on was domestic violence that still exists in today s day
worldwide. Domestic violence is an important issue because many believe that it s only a male to
female action but it s also female to male abuse. In addition, many assume that domestic violence is
only a physical act but there are other forms of abuse such as psychological, sexual, financial and
emotional. John Hamel, a licensed clinical social worker and editor of the journal Partner Abuse said,
A lot of people don t see domestic violence in the home as a crime, so they tend to downplay it.
Because many follow this ideology women would be brutally beaten. In addition, men are seen as the
head of the household because he provides the basic needs for his family, putting him in

Relationship Between Gilgamesh And Achilles
Gilgamesh and Achilles, heroes in the ancient world, were great fighters. The goal for both was to
achieve an immortal name for themselves, even if it meant dying. Yet, when they went into major
battles accompanied by their best friends, their friendship had an impact on their behavior which
resulted in deadly consequences. In the Epic of Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh and his best friend Enkidu go
up against and kill the terrifying monster Humbaba. Afterwards, Gilgamesh s unintelligent actions
lead to more strife in which he insults the goddess Ishtar and as a result she punishes Enkidu. As a
punishment, Enkidu dies of sickness and Gilgamesh s life changes. His life changes in a way were he
feels a need to find answers on achieving immortality, so he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

During this moment in the text, the bond of brothers is broken between Gilgamesh and Enkidu due to
the selfless actions of Gilgamesh. Which of your husbands did you love forever? Which could satisfy
your endless desires? Let me remind you of how they suffered... (133). Ishtar is enraged and to
revenge Gilgamesh she uses the bull of heaven to cause destruction but Enkidu steps in and helps his
brother killing the bull. Enkidu knows death is upon them as he has a dream the following night I
dreamed that we had offended the gods, they met in council and Anu said, They have slaughtered the
Bull of Heaven and killed Humbaba. Watchman of the Cedar Forest. Therefore one of the two must
die. Enkidu, not Gilgamesh, is the one who must die (141) . This is where life for both brothers gets
challenging, their attitude about death is changing now that they both realize Enkidu knows he is the
one going to die and Gilgamesh realizes there is not much he can do expect prays to the Gods. At first,
when they traveled to the Cedar Forest to kill Humbaba both brothers had fears of going up against the
monster but they knew if they can protect each other it was going to be okay. Now, Enkidu is dying he
has accepted his fate while Gilgamesh weeps that it is all one big misunderstanding. Enkidu says to

The Pros And Cons Of The Anti-Trust Act
20. Nov. 2014 The anti trust acts started out in the late 1800s. The anti trust act means that the
government can prevent the growth of a monopoly. There were several forms of the anti trust acts. The
first form of the act is the Sherman Act of 1980; it outlaws the restrains of trade and monopolization
(McConnell, Brue, and Flynn). The consequences of not following this act meant that the government
can either break up the monopoly into competing firms or stop it from engaging in the specific
business they were monopolizing. Then the Clayton Act of 1914 was declared it was made to
strengthen and make improvise on the Sherman Act (McConnell, Brue, and Flynn). It stated that tying
contracts, price discrimination, interlocking directorates, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even after the disagreements on anti trust laws, the Supreme Court has the final say in the decision. A
firm will be sued by the government if it has a very high market share and if there is evidence of
market dominance (McConnell, Brue, and Flynn). However, even if the government was the case, the
problem always is on how to correct the monopoly so it doesn t continue to be in violation of the anti
trust laws. One particular anti trust suit that is famous is United States versus Microsoft. In 2000
Microsoft was found guilty of violating the Sherman Act by challenging competitor companies over
its operating systems by being hostile to competitor s software (McConnell, Brue, and Flynn).
Microsoft used anticompetitive ways to maintain their monopoly power. Microsoft felt threatened by
competing companies so they signed contracts with PC makers that require them to feature Internet
Explorer on the PC desktop and penalized other competing software s (McConnell, Brue, and Flynn).
In addition, Microsoft gave coding to friendly companies rather than competing companies and they
created software making competing companies software incompatible with Windows. Microsoft
appealed their district court decision taking it

Is It The Right Decision For Withhold Experimental Drug...
Dilemma: Was it the right decision to withhold experimental drug PLX4032 from Mr. Ryan for the
sake of following protocol and not tainting the trial s results, even though standard chemotherapy was
ineffective?
Assignment 4 (I need a title)
The story of Thomas McLaughlin and Brandon Ryan is of a path that suddenly diverged with a roll of
a dice. As cousins, not only did they share a life together by riding dirt bikes in the summer, spending
holidays together at their grandmother s house, and even having the same occupation in welding; they
also shared the same lethal skin cancer: Melanoma. Their option to enroll in a clinical trial testing the
efficacy of PLX4032, a developmental drug aimed at shrinking tumors for those diagnosed with ...

Not only could a complete experimental trial help avoid mistakes based on early promise in a study,
there was also the possibility that Mr. Ryan would not benefit from PLX4032, which in effect would
have delayed the study as the principals of a randomized controlled trial would have been
compromised.
By maintaining Mr. Ryan in the control group and withholding PLX4032, we realize that this decision
would only cause Mr. Ryan to suffer, and to die prematurely. Despite dacarbazine being one of the few
FDA approved chemotherapy drugs, and thereby labeled the standard form of care in the treatment of
metastatic melanoma for over 3 decades, we see that historically this intervention has proven to be
ineffective (Bhatia, Tykodi, Thompson, 2009). Through a pooled analysis, research indicates that this
drug has only a 15.3% objective response rate, with only 2% of patients living past 6 years (Bhatia et.
al., 2009). Likewise, the side effects implicated with toxic treatment are inevitable with dacarbazine,
so subjecting Mr. Ryan to this regimen of treatment causes needless suffering. Even doctors involved
in the study, including Dr. Keith Flaherty of Massachusetts General Hospital, have expressed their
hatred toward dacarbazine by stating that they would prefer to never give a dose again in their life, and
by lobbying for chemotherapy patients worsening in the trial to be positioned in a new trial headed by
PLX4032 s competitor

Impact of John Stuart Mill s Philosophies on Philippines Society, Politics and Economy
Mendoza, A.; SocSci 2 WBYDX
John Stuart Mill s social, political, and economic philosophies are widely applied in the Philippine
setting. His conception of social liberty, feminism, political democracy and economic democracy is
practiced in the country, although not holistically applied or not well carried out at some cases.
Philippines, as a democratic country, adapts the libertarian culture that Mill believes to be the best for
achieving intellectual and social development. Every Filipino citizen is sovereign and free to do what
he wants as long as he does not harm others. Mill s proposed ways to obtain social liberty , which are

Most of the poor are deprived of their rights for education. Many are illiterate; many did not finish
their education. In this view, the goal of furthering knowledge seems to be difficult to achieve since
the poor, who is using freedom of speech, is uneducated and unable to understand knowledge itself.
Oppression of the mass is also seen in this perspective. The poor is deprived of their rights for
education. In this case, corruption and interests of the powerful could also be seen as the cause of
human rights deprivation in the Philippines. Mill s utilitarianism is again not well practiced by the
government as it hasn t been able to protect Filipino mass rights.
Even in Philippines economy, only the minority benefits from the fruits of business and production.
Economic democracy is not well implemented in the country. Economic democracy, said Mill, is
substituting capitalist businesses into workers cooperatives so that workers would have more benefits
and power for their own welfare. In Philippines status quo, the capitalist system is growing and
workers welfare is being set aside. Profits of businesses mostly go to the capitalists, while workers
earn a minimum wage and are not given benefits that workers are supposed to have. The country s
economic progress is characterized by development aggression, where only the minority benefits from

Food Hazards in India on Milk Adulterated Essay
The Apex court Thursday urged the state governments to make necessary amendments to their laws to

Many showroom owners buys this very paneer from us and sells at a handsome rate of 200 300 per kg
.
Surprisingly another vendor appeared from somewhere, put a piece of paneer at my palm and asked
Sir, do you need it for the marriage party ? He offered me an unbelievable price of Rs 60 per kg. The
only condition was that it was a price should I buy the whole bulk he had, approximately 20
kilograms. It was shocking. When the rate of milk is Rs. 40 per liter how is it possible to sell paneer at
this rate. Obviously the product wasn t paneer, it was a cheap look alike. But it sparked the
inquisitiveness which leads me to go ahead.
Furthermore, as I step deep inside the milk market the scene went aghast. Something like milk was
being boiled in dozens of containers using a locally made burner amid heaps of garbage all around.
People were urinating very near to this site. It was disgusting. I could not help taking snaps quietly. It
was the area of the market which the milkmen uses and not for paneer vendors. Better to say it was the
producing unit of paneer.
More or less, this very paneer is being supplied to most of the eating joint, eateries and even big hotels
in Patna.
But all we need to remember are just two things. First, a kilogram of paneer needs 5 liters of milk to
process. And the most trusted packed milk (Sudha) available in Patna is Rs 40/liter.

Pro Athletes Overpaid Essay
Over the years, pro titled athletes salaries have reached all new heights. These acclaimed athletes have
been boosted onto pedestals for their athletic abilities, and their salaries are topping some of the more
important roles in modern society. Even though pro athletes are some of the world s most athletic in
their fields of employment, their exuberant salaries are inexcusable when put next to the salaries of
those partaking in more dangerous, sometimes even fatal lines of work.
Although athletes are tremendously overpaid, there are some points that can justify the reasoning for
their exuberant salaries. These athletes spend several hours of their day in gyms doing extreme

When looking at what an athlete does to earn this huge paycheck, we see that all they truly do is swing
a bat or catch a ball. This is an insane amount of money to be making in just a year. You can take this
amount and compare it to someone that is fighting a fire and saving a life. There is not even a close
relation to those numbers. Without fire fighters, we probably would lose half of our country in the
substantial wild fires that sweep our nation. As it is stated in the article, Are Pro Athletes Paid Too
Much? , their salary is only about $47,000. Fire fighters risk their lives to ensure out safety when there
is a fire. What does LeBron James do to help our nation? The point that is coming to the surface here
is that there are many other professions in modern day society that deserve the payment that Mr.
James is earning in a year. Look at the hospitals that help the citizens of our country. We have nurses
that sometimes work 24 hour shifts and work tirelessly to help others. This is just another piece of
evidence that proves there are harder working people that bring forth change and help to society.
Stated in the article, Are Pro Athletes Paid Too Much? , the president s salary is only $400,000 per
year. The president is the big man behind our country and he brings in a quarter of what a man that
runs a ball down the courts. This just shows how there is corruption in modern day

Essay about The Motion Picture Code of the Great Depression
The Motion Picture Code of the Great Depression
During the times of the Great Depression, film was viewed as a valuable importance to people. Film
during this time of distress contributed to the maintenance of the national morale of America. During
this time Hollywood played a valuable part, getting over eighty million Americans to attend theaters,
but soon it would become a lot harder as America continued living in the Great Depression.
Everyone in America, even the most troubling of poverty families attended movies. With a movie to

Will Rogers, another famous comedic director, known for his political satire was a huge hit amongst
audiences. Films such as Judge Priest, where he played a rustic politician, was a fan favorite amongst

Mafia films were the type of films Hollywood continued to produce at this time. Gangster characters
were characters that American citizens could compare themselves too. There was a hint of patriotism
in every Gangster film that thrilled audiences. The passion to take away from the rich and give to the
poor. Movies such as Little Ćeaser, Scarface and Public Enemy were all classic hits that made stars
out of actors like Edward G. Robinson, James Cagney and Paul Muni.
Although gangster films were a hit with the mainstream audiences, it wasn t with the Protestant and
Catholic religious groups. This sparked the beginning of the new movie code, that would be
introduced. In 1934 with the Movie Industry still plummeting, the Motion Picture Production code
was put into action. The Code was founded in 1930 and was made to censor films and create
guidelines for production studios to adhere to. The code was never carried out until 1934, when the
Production Code Administration was founded. They required all films and even scripts, be pre
approved before going to theaters.
This was done under the administration of Joseph Breen, who took over for the Hays office after 1934.

CHAPTER 3 COOPERATIVE COMMUNICATION
Background
We have introduced a new form of diversity for the concept of mobile communications system of
cooperation. Cooperation by mobile phone users for each user is assigned. Cooperation can be

According to Cover and El Gamal (1979), a good performance in wireless communications Multiple

widely recognized, as it offers a significant increase in performance and range of data offline or

Consider The Lobster Analysis
I was approximately 7 or 8 years old when the smell of gambling and blood was the air, thrilling the
expectations of the spectators. The ear piercing sound of a rooster begging for mercy from his
opponent. Like savages we cheered on the winner, I found myself in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Years
later, when I sit down to read, Consider the Lobster by David Foster Wallace, the feeling of guilt that
ran through my mind made me feel uncomfortable. the Lobster are boiled alive at these festivals and
as the author mentioned that, the lobster was moving in agony as he was trying to get out the pot while
he was boiling alive. For the people that do not care, it is not about individual conscience but on a
moral perspective. I have a simple question to ask them, can you imagine getting into a boiling pot
and boiled alive for approximately 35 45 seconds? Because that s how long it takes the lobster to die

similar feeling to pulling a hair on a human. Unlike the lobster, the rooster has a cerebral cortex and it
is very similar to humans. When humans feel intense pain, our bodies seem to react by sending

Social Issues In Easy Street
The presentation of these social issues as something to laugh at rather than worry helps provide much
needed relief to an audience that might otherwise be consumed with agony over how to cope and solve
those problems. This presentation also allows the focus to be drawn onto the alternatives available to
Easy Street. Chaplin allows the Tramp character to be a reference on possibilities to fix the problems
afflicting Easy Street, one being religion. The Tramp is saved at the beginning of the film, welcomed
into his new faith by a pastor and The Girl. To affirm his commitment to this decision, he returns the
donation box he was intending to steal. The newfound hope that The Tramp has acquired inspires him
to get a job as a policeman, where he inadvertently adopts the role of being the savior of Easy Street.
There he meets his nemesis, the Bully, whose eyebrows are done in a manner suggesting horns,
likening him to a Satanic figure. When the Bully bends the gas lamp with his sheer strength, it
suggests there s something inhuman and demonic about him. The Tramp therefore becomes even

Canterbury Tales Research Paper
According to the video The Study of English, Chaucer was the first writer to consciously use English
to write his poems, even though he knew Latin and French, which were considered superior to English
(Macneil, MacCrum, and Cran). He was an inspector in the London wool wharf, a busy job that only
allowed him to write at night (Strohm). Chaucer decided to exile himself after being punished for
letting corrupt collectors do as they pleased (Strohm). Chaucer s exile prompted him to create what is

I would argue that Chaucer addresses or brings to our attention the cruel reality of the medieval world.
In The Canterbury Tales Prologue, Chaucer characterizes the Knight as a gentle, humble and worthy
man, who loved chivalry, truth, honour, freedom and all courtesy (1). This is the contrary perception
of knights in the medieval times. This implies that Chaucer was explicitly mocking the knights. He
was confronting their corrupt behavior by describing the code of conduct which they did not keep or
respect. In The Canterbury Tales Prologue, Geoffrey Chaucer portrays the social and religious
problems of his time in a very sardonic

Baseball and Its History Essay
Baseball is an immensely popular American game, known as the national pastime, played between
two teams of nine players each. The basic implements used in the game are a leather covered ball,
wooden bats for hitting the ball, and gloves for catching it. Baseball is played on a large scale in Latin
America, Japan, and other places besides the United States, but it is in the United States that it thrives
both as a participant s and spectator s sport.
It is played at its highest level in the United States and two
Canadian cities, where 26 teams make up the American and National Leagues (each with two
divisions, East and
West). Combined, these leagues are called major league

prospered by allowing Sunday games and the sale of beer in the stadium. Both leagues survived the

invaded National League cities, and raided the older league for players. The result of the eventual
truce was the World Series, which has been played every year since 1903 except 1904, when the
New York Giants refused to meet the American League champions (Boston). The major leagues

revelation that eight members of the Chicago White Sox had conspired to throw the 1919
World Series to Cincinnati. Only the appointment of Judge
Kenesaw Mountain LANDIS as commissioner and the introduction of a livelier ball saved the game.

Immigration And Immigrants In Australia
Immigration can be defined as the action of individuals coming to live permanently or for a period in
another country. With a forecasted population of 40 million by 2050 in Australia, the population
growth in Australia remains at a steady rate of 1.6%. According to the Bureau of Statistics, each year,
Australia s population increases about 350,000 where 190,000 of them are immigrants.
Australia is the currently ranked first amongst the major developed countries for its rapidly increasing
population growth rate. Since 1851, when the discovery of gold was found in Bathurst, NSW, a
significant number of continental Europeans, North Americans and Chinese migrated to Australia with
the hope of making a fortune. Moreover, during the second half of the nineteenth century, the
Australian government decided to subsidise migration to increase the immigration of Europeans to
Australia. With the White Australian Policy in place, in 1938, the Australian Government agreed to
accept 15,000 Jewish refugees, as a large proportion of the Jewish community were seeking to leave
Germany and Austria due to the forced removal of Jews, The Nazi policy of Judenrein. The White
Australia Policy began to be abandoned in 1966, under Prime Minister Harold Holt. The last reside of
the system was finally abolished in 1973 under the Government of Gough Whitlam.
Then, in the mid 1940s up to about 1964, during the period of World War II, there was a period of a
noticeable growth in birth rate, known as the baby boomers generation. In this era, these boomers
grew up at a time of dramatic social change, where the Australian economy had an unemployment rate
of 2% due to the free tertiary education.
Furthermore, during the 1970s and 1980s, around 120,000 southern Asian refugees migrated to
Australia, transforming Australia into a multicultural nation. As of this period, immigration to
Australia in the late twentieth century was influenced by a number of world events, including ( the fall
of Saigon in 1975 ; the fall of East Timor to Indonesian s troops in 1975; dictatorships in South
America and the Lebanese Civil War of 1975 1990. At that time, in 1977, 20% of the Australian
population was born overseas. In the 1990s, the

Use Of Humor In Catcher In The Rye
When humor is used to convey a message or theme, the emotional response exhibited by the receivers
of the message is immensely positive. Within the Catcher in the Rye, humor is used to connect to the
reader with its more pessimistic and negative concepts, such as depression and suicidal thoughts. The
use of comedy as the tone makes the book cheerfully appealing and relatable, demonstrating how it
contributes to the overall meaning and effect. Humor within the book allows for the negative concepts

Food Insecurity In Food
Food Insecurity and its Correlation to Obesity in the United States
On a recent trip to the grocery store, the first thing that caught my eye was a big sale on potato chips
for ninety nine cents. What a great deal, everyone in my vicinity was picking up two or three bags to
take home. This might seem like a pretty ordinary event at most grocery stores, but it really
exemplifies a bigger problem in our society which often goes unnoticed, food insecurity and it s
correlation to obesity and other health problems. Hunger in our society is an enormous problem that
often goes unmentioned, but this problem is not going away on its own, and in fact is causing
significant issues in our society. The issue of hunger is not always about the quantity of food, but also
about the quality of the food supply, more often than not, the more accessible foods and cheaper foods
are those containing high levels of sugar and fat which are more affordable to the poor and working
poor in our communities. As Berg points out in this quote, people who are hungry generally choose
the cheaper option that will fill them up, When you re just trying to get your calorie intake, you re
going to get what fills your belly (Berg). If we as a community made an effort to demand foods with a
higher nutritional value, such as fruits and vegetables, have the same price as those high in sugar and
fats, people would more often select the healthy and nutritious options as a recent survey at the Des

Difference between Postpartum depression and Postpartum Psychosis 1
When we speak of these two disorders what are we talking about and how are they different in the
relationship to woman? I will try to determine that in this brief essay. The first of two is postpartum
depression, this disorder consist of a disorder that occur in mothers that have giving birth to a child. It
occurs in some women after the first week of giving birth but can last longer for several months.
It can be triggered by ways of a sudden hormone c hanges that happen after childbirth, miscarriage, or
stillbirth. Some important facts about this disorder are: If the symptoms of postpartum become serious
it may trigger the mother to have thoughts of hurting themselves by means of suicide or even worst
they may be considering hurting their child. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This disorder is much serious than postpartum because of the facts it causes the mother to have mere
thoughts of hallucinations and delusions (perceiving things differently from the way they are).
In a legal defense case these disorder can be used as a vital piece of evidence such as manner. If the
attorney feels that the individual cannot stand trial, they may in turn ask the judge for a plea of
insanity due to the mental capacity of the victim.
If I was the defense attorney trying to defend either one of these two cases. I would not bring it to trial
because of the fact it would be hard for me to prove to the court that individuals was in there right
state of mind when the incidents occurred. Furthermore it would take intensive amount of time for the

High School, Collegiate, And Professional Activities
In my first essay, I took a deeply cynic position against competition. But, as discussed by Shields,
maybe I have not seen true competition. Perhaps what I have viewed in high school, collegiate, and
professional activities is actually decompetition (n.d.). Decompetition is like competition, but it
primarily promotes the worst attributes in athletics, producing a negative outcome (Shields, n.d.).
Regardless, over the course of this semester, my view of competition has been changed. I now hold a
neutral view of competition. I do not believe that all competition is innately bad but not all is
inherently good either. The game of jacks played today was the most pivotal activity in the shift of my
opinion. No one in my group had ever played the game. Instead of working individually, so one of us
could triumph over the others, we worked together to find the best strategies and methods. Every time
someone threw their handful of jacks to the floor, we analyzed them to find the best way to gather the
jacks. We moaned when someone failed to gather their jacks in time and cheered when someone did
the seemingly impossible. To us, the game was still fresh and new; we used each other s perspectives
to figure it out. During our first game, for instance, Amanda received zero points, and I only won ten.
But, by game two, Amanda and I, through trial and error and the feedback from the others, sharpened
our skills to earn 51 and 40 points respectively. I was fairly happy with my success,

Examples Of Creation Myths
What creation myth do you believe in? There are many different creation myths, each culture has their
own because they believe the world was created different. Even though cultures have different myths
some of them have something in common, which is a motif. The motifs that I think are the most
important are the following; Most myths start with chaos, Men are always created before women, and
Humans are made for organic material. Without these motifs the creation myths would be silly and
would not make sense.
Creation myths mostly start with Chaos:
In my opinion the most important motif of all, is how, mostly all creation myths start with chaos. Most

Men were always created first because they are stronger and can withstand more than women. When
the gods would make women they made them small and fragile, they were not meant to do hard labor.
Every culture used this motif so that means it must be important and a smart idea to use. The main
reason that women were made was to give the men company, be the men s mate, and take care of the
children. While the men were out all day working of finding food for the family, while his wife would
be inside watching the children and cleaning the house.
Humans were made out of organic materials:
Most men were made from organic materials because the gods wanted them to either be apart of them
or the earth. The cultures that used this motif were most likely people that loved the earth and
worshiped their god everyday. There are many cultures that use organic materials to make the humans
but some materials did not work like the gods were hoping for. For example in the Yoruba creation
myth the humans are made from clay, but while Obatala was making the people he was drunk and
made them all deformed and ugly. Obatala was a very nice god and did not kill them he just made
more people that were perfect. Another example is the Mayan creation myth, In the beginning of the
myth Tepeu and Gucumatz made animals and were disappointed because the animals could not speak
to say their names and praise them. Tepeu and Gucumatz decided to create man and they made

Ethical Virtue and Nobility Essay
Aristotle, in the Nicomachean Ethics, asserts that every ethical virtue aims at what is noble. In order to
establish his definition of nobility, Aristotle takes the example of the virtue of courage. This virtue
aims at what is noble, namely the common good, and this noble end is reached through courageous
acts done by a brave man. There is a direct relationship between becoming good and loving what is
noble. In order to become a good person, one must be conditioned to love what is noble and hate what
is ignoble. This person will develop the proper character and be able to perform virtuous acts. One
cannot become good without reverence for nobility. Furthermore, there also is a direct relationship
between ethics and what is noble. Ethics ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The brave man in battle therefore exhibits the noblest and greatest form of courage. Aristotle goes on
to elaborate the meaning of bravery. The man is in a healthy middle between cowardice and rashness.
He is not fearless in every situation, as one might assume, but instead is the man who faces and who
fears the right things and from the right motive, in the right way and at the right time, and who feels
confidence under the corresponding conditions (EN III.7). Virtuous actions are done for their own
sake, and so the same applies to the virtue of courage. The brave man works for courage as an end,
which is noble. Therefore, the brave man acts courageously for a noble end. The concept of nobility
becomes clear here. The brave man enters into a dangerous situation with a high possibility of death
for the good of others. This self sacrifice and aim for the common good is most likely what Aristotle
had in mind when referring to nobility. As for how loving what is noble is connected to becoming
good, a love for nobility is necessary to be able to do good acts and be a good person. No one is born
good and development of the soul is required for a person to become good. In order to have people act
in accordance to good, they have to be cultivated by means of habits for noble joy and noble hatred
(EN X.9). In order to instill virtue, for most people force is needed and their good actions

Music History: Baroque to Romantic
Practical Similarities and Differences of Stile Antico and Stile Moderno When the general public
thinks of Baroque music, they might think of the High Court sounding French concerto, or one of
Bach s many and well known fugues. These highly structured pieces with their vigorous counterpoint
and technical brilliance might be considered tight and incredibly mechanical. However, these pieces
though full of well thought out lines, phrases, and ornamented passages are not driven by the writers
will to keep the music enslaved in rules and restricting limits of harmony. The Baroque era contained

The ideas and beliefs brought forth by the Camerata and many others were whole and acted as a
benchmark for moving forward in music, but the ideas of past musical structures had not been
forgotten. Polyphony which had seemed to be a key part of the stile antico with its many rules on line
and counterpoint made a strong return through the Prelude and Fugue, particularly by Johann
Sebastian Bach. J.S. Bach wrote many organ pieces with long and fluid contrapuntal passages still
following the ideals set in the prima practica. Many of Bach s works had outlines brought pieces by
such composers as Palestrina who some consider the father of the first practice. Palestrina s Missa sine
nomine gave Bach a strong inspiration for his particularly famous Mass in B Minor. Through this
polyphony Bach was able to inspire the Lutheran Church as well as the works of many other
composers who would later use his works as basis for their own. Many of the composers who would
do this would move out of the Church setting and into private parties and royal houses to entertain,
which was not heard of by the earlier predecessors of Polyphony who would have stayed in the
churches. These men would have only gone outside of the church if the King or a royal call was
offered and would then return to the church for duties. Smagur 4

Application Of An Xml Representation For Source Code Using...
For my Honors Research Project, I wrote a GUI application that converts and displays source code
using the srcML format. The srcML format is an XML representation for source code, where the
markup tags identify elements of the abstract syntax for the language. As the name implies, the goal
for srcMX is to promote the manipulation and exploration of source code. Currently, source code can
be converted to the srcML format using the srcml command line tool. However, this requires the user
to view the results using an external application. The srcMX application is the first to allow users to

provides users with the ability to visualize query results. The srcMX application consists of several
modular views. At the top, the main toolbar contains a variety of controls. Here, the user can add files
to the project, toggle the visibility of application views, and browse through the history of opened
files. The main toolbar also contains a large status bar that displays information about the project. To
the right, a slider controls the visibility of srcML tags in the code viewport. New files can be added to
a project by expanding the drop down button in the main tool bar. This opens a window that allows the
user to specify the type of file he or she wishes to add. Like the srcML command line tool, srcMX can

Comparing Dr. Moreau And The Beetle
In two fin de siècle novels, H.G. Wells s The Island of Dr. Moreau (1896) and Robert Marsh s The
Beetle (1897), sadism plays a central role. However, while The Island of Dr. Moreau and The Beetle
both include characters that exemplify sadism, the novels differ greatly in the characters portrayals
due to the sadistic characters gender. The sadistic Moreau is presented as Machiavellian tyrant.
However, because Moreau s gender aligns with ideas of gendered sadism, the novel does not portray
him as degenerate, monstrous, nor ambiguous. In contrast, The Beetle tampers with the sadistic female
body, which leads to doubt of her true sex and form and leaves her as an undecidable, degenerate
monstrosity. The sadistic characters descriptions in The Island of Dr. Moreau and The Beetle ... Show

Abstract
Accounting is used for several purposes. Investors, creditors, and individuals use accounting to see
whether a business is successful or not. Managers and employees use accounting to make decisions on
certain objectives. There are four main statements used in accounting: The balance sheet, income
statement, the statement of retained earnings, and the statement of cash flow. The equation for
accounting is assets equal equity plus liabilities. The equation must always balance out.
The Basic Principles of Accounting A business uses accounting to record all financial transactions a

Debits and credits do not mean debits decrease an account or credits increase an account. Debit and
credit can increase or decrease an account. (Editorial Board, 2011).
Assets, liabilities, equity, revenue, and expenses has their own balance. A company will produce a trial
balance which will give the balance of all these in a certain amount of time such as monthly, quarterly,
or annually. The trial balance ensures that account balance is accurate. If the accounting equation isn t
balanced out then there is an error in the accounting records.
The final process of accounting is producing financial statements. The first statement is the income
statement. The income statement shows a company s profit or loss after revenue and expenses. The
equation for the income statement is revenue minus expenses equal net income. The next statement
produced is the statement of retained earnings. The statement of retained earnings starts out with the
net income retrieved from the income statement, which is added to the beginning retained earnings
from the previous month then subtracts the money paid out. The last document is the balance sheet. A
balance sheet contains a more detailed statement of each account balance. (Tracy, 2008).
A certain standard of moral and professional ethics should be kept in accounting. If professional ethics
are not met, some consequences may be faced. These

The Role of Fashion Promotion Within the Fashion Industry

how it might develop in the next five years. To do this I shall review what fashion promotion is by
defining it and finding out how, when and where it started. To understand what fashion promotion
really is in a contemporary context I shall broadly look at how it is used and what many forms it has

Before this, soirees took place in stores; chairs would be put out people would come and watch the
shows inside the shop; this still happens today for instance Topshop will put on a catwalk of their
latest collection inside their flagship store on Oxford Street.
However contemporary fashion shows are as much about being seen at the event as they are about
what is being shown on the catwalk. The audience wants to feel important and exclusive and the front
row seats show status. There is also more press coverage now about the clothes themselves, which is
the reason why designers make extreme and un wearable clothes. Current fashion participates in an
economic system that is developing very differently from its nineteenth century origins, which
pioneered the techniques of retail and advertising to promote the garment. Now the fashioned garment
circulates in a contemporary economy as part of a network of signs, of which the actual garment is but
one. (Bruzzi S. Church Gibson P. (eds). 2000. P.96)
We need to understand the fashion industry s cyclical nature in each historical period and its technical
development to see how fashion promotion has developed into the forms existing today. Changes in
women s influence and power, money supply, changing tastes and interests in sports, shapes, and
ongoing cultural issues and events such as terrorism and

Summary Of A Red Rose By Robert Burns
Robert Burns A Red Red Rose On the romanticism era Robert Burns wrote the poem named A Red
Red Rose. In this poem Burns writes about his love for a girl and how strong and deep it is for her, as
he says I will love thee still my dear, till a the seas gang dry. Robert Burns was born on January 25th,
1759 in Alloway Scotland. Parents William Burns and Agnes Broun, his parents were farmers, though
they lived in that life of farming they wanted their son Robert Burns to have and receive a good
education and when he started getting the education they wanted him to have, burns also started to
read more and started to have a huge place in his heart for poetry. Burns father died in 1784 in
bankruptcy and then bruns and his brother Gilbert took over the farm, but that didn t stop him from
reading and getting influenced by different famous people. He was influenced by different poets like
Alexander Pope, Henry Mackenzie, and Laurence Sterne; His hard physical labour on the family is
what increasingly turned his attention toward the passion of poetry. Robert Burns turned his full
attention to poetry after what happened with his family and at age of fifteen he fell in love and wrote
his first poem, burns pursued both love and poetry. In 1785 he fathered the first of his fourteen
children and between 1784 and 1785 burns collected in his first collection which was Chiefly in the
Scottish Dialect and was printed in 1786 and was also paid for by subscriptions. That poem was
immediately one of the best and robert was celebrated throughout England and Scotland as a great
peasant poet. He wrote many more poems and later in 1788 he got married to Jean Armour and
fathered twins, but a split in their marriage nearly led to burns moving to the west indies with his other
lover Mary Campbell, later with Mary s sudden death and his sensational success of his first published
collection that kept him in scotland, burns became very known and famous across the country of
scotland at just 27 years old. Burns would not only make poems but would also sometimes turn them
into songs and give them for someone to perform. In just 18 months Burns spent all his wealth from
what he got from when he published his poem, and

Descriptive Essay On The Kite Runner
The Photos Hassan stood there, starring at the Baroque façade of the house. Today was the day. He
had been waiting for this moment ever since the German Bundestag passed a motion calling upon
politicians to have greater interaction and participation with the Syrian refugee . He was nervous, he
moved his tongue around his mouth, noticing a lack of saliva. He was deeply humbled. A chaperon
tapped him on his back and guided him toward the sturdy gold emblazoned oak door. Quite a strong
contrast to the smog filled festering grey carcass of Aleppo, Syria. There she stood, standing firmly
but welcoming. She was wearing her signature blue blazer, which had filled countless photographs of
her across the international media, flanked against the greatest foreign leaders, representatives, and
dignitaries. She held ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His eyes were shallow and lost all sense of life Hnak(In there)! each of the men repeated I couldn t see
much through the pores of the cloth tightly wrapped around my eyes, but I could feel fear. Everyone
was herded into seats, forced to sit in what felt like a damp minibus for hours. A roar of prayers
echoed around me the entire time, all fearful and all slowly losing hope. A loud gunshot echoed in the
minibus. We were thrown off the bus and left in the middle of the desert. I laid on the soft, glistening
sand starring at the bloodless white that resided into the sky. I closed my eyes, accepting my fate. I
awoke to find myself in a hostel back in Raqqa. I had almost given up hope on my life and then I
heard it on a radio station, the voice that would lead me out of this hell and into a new world, it was
her voice. *** Hassan quickly, remembered where he was, his face was red and his heart was
pounding. He looked her in her eyes but could not maintain contact, diverting his gaze he noticed a

Arguments Against Abortion
Introduction Although, currently legalized, abortion continues to be a burdening ethical issue in
America. From 1973 to 2011 approximately 53 million legal abortions were performed in the United
States (Procon.org, 2015, p.1). Pro Choice supporters hail an abortion is a woman s choice and a
protected personal right that should not be limited by governmental or religious authority (Procon.org,
2015, p.1). However, Pro Life supporters contend that a human life begins at the very moment of
conception and thus an abortion is the immoral killing of an innocent human being (Procon.org, 2015,
p.1). Thus, there are various arguments to be considered on both sides.
Pro Choice
Many contend that in attempting to delegalized abortions the government ... Show more content on

Pro Life supporters insist that a child is considered a human being at the very moment of conception.
Thus, abortion is murder and is unethical because the right to live was stripped from the child. A child
can be aborted up to 24 weeks of life and in some states later (Procon.org, 2015, p.1). Furthermore, a
fetus does feel pain during the abortion procedure because by eight weeks the most primitive response
to pain, the spinal reflex, is developed (Procon.org, 2015, p.1). Moreover, the psychological affects of
an abortion can be overwhelming such as increased depression and anxiety (Procon.org, 2015, p.1). A
2002 peer reviewed study published by the Southern Medical Journal... found that women who
aborted were 154% more likely to commit suicide than women who carried to term (Procon.org, 2015,
p.1). Pro Life supporters believe women must not be able to use an abortion as a means of
contraception. If one becomes pregnant, one must be responsible for the child they have brought to the
world. Thousands of families desire to adopt children, thus abortion significantly reduces the number
of adoptable babies (Procon.org, 2015, p.1). Lastly, abortion promotes a culture in which human life is
disposable and it is acceptable to rid of a life that inconveniences you (Procon.org, 2015,

The Theory Of Corporate Management
Summary: (Zahraa)
Corporate management has evolved over the years becoming a complicated process even to the most
refined managers. Classical management styles can no longer be relied upon to organize efficiently the
several factors that come into play in the modern business world.
Meijer Company is no exception and therefore specialized and thoroughly researched management
methods are required to solve the ever changing corporate world. Tools that guide critical thinking in
business management are thus essential for Meijer.
Combinations of SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, Threat) and PESTLE (Political,
Economic, Social, Technological, Legal, Environmental) analysis come in handy in the management
of Meijer Company. They were especially helpful with aligning project plans with the company vision
and mission and its core values of customer satisfaction, innovation, and teamwork.
Lewin s Force Field Analysis is important in countering opposition to change. It is also crucial in
effecting the necessary changes required in Meijer s management. The Porter s five macroeconomic
forces explain the performance of an organization regarding various market characteristics such as the
power to bargain by both suppliers and buyers.
Introduction: (Aziz)
Meijer is a family owned business that used to be a small grocery store. It was founded in 1936, and
today is considered the 19th largest privately held company in the country. They now have over 200
stores across six states in

  • 4. Domestic Violence And The Civil Rights Movement Women have been active since the beginning of the early 1800 s and struggle until today s day, to fight for equality. There were two women movement waves. The first wave was focused on the equality of the women by working on voting rights. The second wave from 1963 to 1982 concentrated on social issues. As in Collective Action for Social Change , Aaron Schutz and Marie Sandy stated in their book women were tired of being second class citizens . The civil rights movement spillover inspired women to create social movements by acting and building organizations focused on the issues that affected the women. The social issues were child care, domestic violence, contraception, and women s health. One of the major topics that the feminists focused on was domestic violence that still exists in today s day worldwide. Domestic violence is an important issue because many believe that it s only a male to female action but it s also female to male abuse. In addition, many assume that domestic violence is only a physical act but there are other forms of abuse such as psychological, sexual, financial and emotional. John Hamel, a licensed clinical social worker and editor of the journal Partner Abuse said, A lot of people don t see domestic violence in the home as a crime, so they tend to downplay it. Because many follow this ideology women would be brutally beaten. In addition, men are seen as the head of the household because he provides the basic needs for his family, putting him in ... In the Epic of Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh and his best friend Enkidu go up against and kill the terrifying monster Humbaba. Afterwards, Gilgamesh s unintelligent actions lead to more strife in which he insults the goddess Ishtar and as a result she punishes Enkidu. • 6. The Pros And Cons Of The Anti-Trust Act 20. Nov. 2014 The anti trust acts started out in the late 1800s. The anti trust act means that the government can prevent the growth of a monopoly. There were several forms of the anti trust acts. The first form of the act is the Sherman Act of 1980; it outlaws the restrains of trade and monopolization (McConnell, Brue, and Flynn). The consequences of not following this act meant that the government can either break up the monopoly into competing firms or stop it from engaging in the specific business they were monopolizing. Then the Clayton Act of 1914 was declared it was made to strengthen and make improvise on the Sherman Act (McConnell, Brue, and Flynn). It stated that tying contracts, price discrimination, interlocking directorates, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even after the disagreements on anti trust laws, the Supreme Court has the final say in the decision. A firm will be sued by the government if it has a very high market share and if there is evidence of market dominance (McConnell, Brue, and Flynn). However, even if the government was the case, the problem always is on how to correct the monopoly so it doesn t continue to be in violation of the anti trust laws. One particular anti trust suit that is famous is United States versus Microsoft. In 2000 Microsoft was found guilty of violating the Sherman Act by challenging competitor companies over its operating systems by being hostile to competitor s software (McConnell, Brue, and Flynn). Microsoft used anticompetitive ways to maintain their monopoly power. Microsoft felt threatened by competing companies so they signed contracts with PC makers that require them to feature Internet Explorer on the PC desktop and penalized other competing software s (McConnell, Brue, and Flynn). Dilemma: Was it the right decision to withhold experimental drug PLX4032 from Mr. Ryan for the sake of following protocol and not tainting the trial s results, even though standard chemotherapy was ineffective? Assignment 4 (I need a title) The story of Thomas McLaughlin and Brandon Ryan is of a path that suddenly diverged with a roll of a dice. As cousins, not only did they share a life together by riding dirt bikes in the summer, spending holidays together at their grandmother s house, and even having the same occupation in welding; they also shared the same lethal skin cancer: Melanoma. Not only could a complete experimental trial help avoid mistakes based on early promise in a study, there was also the possibility that Mr. Ryan would not benefit from PLX4032, which in effect would have delayed the study as the principals of a randomized controlled trial would have been compromised. By maintaining Mr. Ryan in the control group and withholding PLX4032, we realize that this decision would only cause Mr. Ryan to suffer, and to die prematurely. Despite dacarbazine being one of the few FDA approved chemotherapy drugs, and thereby labeled the standard form of care in the treatment of metastatic melanoma for over 3 decades, we see that historically this intervention has proven to be ineffective (Bhatia, Tykodi, Thompson, 2009). Through a pooled analysis, research indicates that this drug has only a 15.3% objective response rate, with only 2% of patients living past 6 years (Bhatia et. al., 2009). Likewise, the side effects implicated with toxic treatment are inevitable with dacarbazine, so subjecting Mr. Ryan to this regimen of treatment causes needless suffering. Even doctors involved in the study, including Dr. Keith Flaherty of Massachusetts General Hospital, have expressed their hatred toward dacarbazine by stating that they would prefer to never give a dose again in their life, and by lobbying for chemotherapy patients worsening in the trial to be positioned in a new trial headed by PLX4032 s competitor ... • 19. Social Issues In Easy Street The presentation of these social issues as something to laugh at rather than worry helps provide much needed relief to an audience that might otherwise be consumed with agony over how to cope and solve those problems. This presentation also allows the focus to be drawn onto the alternatives available to Easy Street. Chaplin allows the Tramp character to be a reference on possibilities to fix the problems afflicting Easy Street, one being religion. The Tramp is saved at the beginning of the film, welcomed into his new faith by a pastor and The Girl. To affirm his commitment to this decision, he returns the donation box he was intending to steal. The newfound hope that The Tramp has acquired inspires him to get a job as a policeman, where he inadvertently adopts the role of being the savior of Easy Street. There he meets his nemesis, the Bully, whose eyebrows are done in a manner suggesting horns, likening him to a Satanic figure. When the Bully bends the gas lamp with his sheer strength, it suggests there s something inhuman and demonic about him. The Tramp therefore becomes even easier to sympathize with, since he is facing insurmountable odds, but isn t deterred. By allowing the Tramp to succeed in his defeat of the Bully, Chaplin suggests that the righteous will always overcome evil, the good just have to try, albeit even unconventionally, in order to overcome evil. The Tramp does not stop at trying to stop evil, but also demonstrates trying to spread good. He ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. Canterbury Tales Research Paper According to the video The Study of English, Chaucer was the first writer to consciously use English to write his poems, even though he knew Latin and French, which were considered superior to English (Macneil, MacCrum, and Cran). He was an inspector in the London wool wharf, a busy job that only allowed him to write at night (Strohm). Chaucer decided to exile himself after being punished for letting corrupt collectors do as they pleased (Strohm). Chaucer s exile prompted him to create what is The Canterbury Tales; the creation of an audience that replaced his small [,] responsive and [personally selected group] back home (Strohm). In The Canterbury Tales Prologue, Chaucer characterizes the Knight as a gentle, humble and worthy man, who loved chivalry, truth, honour, freedom and all courtesy (1). This is the contrary perception of knights in the medieval times. This implies that Chaucer was explicitly mocking the knights. He was confronting their corrupt behavior by describing the code of conduct which they did not keep or respect. The independent American Association (1882 91) prospered by allowing Sunday games and the sale of beer in the stadium. Both leagues survived the rival Union Association s challenge in 1884, but in 1890 the athletes formed the Players League, which financially pressed the National League and mortally wounded the American Association. In 1892 the eight team National League absorbed four American Association teams, but it reverted to eight teams after 1899. In 1901 the American League declared itself a major league, invaded National League cities, and raided the older league for players. The result of the eventual truce was the World Series, which has been played every year since 1903 except 1904, when the New York Giants refused to meet the American League champions (Boston). The major leagues successfully met the challenge of the Federal League (1914 15). With a forecasted population of 40 million by 2050 in Australia, the population growth in Australia remains at a steady rate of 1.6%. According to the Bureau of Statistics, each year, Australia s population increases about 350,000 where 190,000 of them are immigrants. Australia is the currently ranked first amongst the major developed countries for its rapidly increasing population growth rate. Since 1851, when the discovery of gold was found in Bathurst, NSW, a significant number of continental Europeans, North Americans and Chinese migrated to Australia with the hope of making a fortune. Moreover, during the second half of the nineteenth century, the Australian government decided to subsidise migration to increase the immigration of Europeans to Australia. With the White Australian Policy in place, in 1938, the Australian Government agreed to accept 15,000 Jewish refugees, as a large proportion of the Jewish community were seeking to leave Germany and Austria due to the forced removal of Jews, The Nazi policy of Judenrein. The White Australia Policy began to be abandoned in 1966, under Prime Minister Harold Holt. The last reside of the system was finally abolished in 1973 under the Government of Gough Whitlam. This might seem like a pretty ordinary event at most grocery stores, but it really exemplifies a bigger problem in our society which often goes unnoticed, food insecurity and it s correlation to obesity and other health problems. Hunger in our society is an enormous problem that often goes unmentioned, but this problem is not going away on its own, and in fact is causing significant issues in our society. The issue of hunger is not always about the quantity of food, but also about the quality of the food supply, more often than not, the more accessible foods and cheaper foods are those containing high levels of sugar and fat which are more affordable to the poor and working poor in our communities. As Berg points out in this quote, people who are hungry generally choose the cheaper option that will fill them up, When you re just trying to get your calorie intake, you re going to get what fills your belly (Berg). But, as discussed by Shields, maybe I have not seen true competition. Perhaps what I have viewed in high school, collegiate, and professional activities is actually decompetition (n.d.). Decompetition is like competition, but it primarily promotes the worst attributes in athletics, producing a negative outcome (Shields, n.d.). Regardless, over the course of this semester, my view of competition has been changed. I now hold a neutral view of competition. I do not believe that all competition is innately bad but not all is inherently good either. The game of jacks played today was the most pivotal activity in the shift of my opinion. No one in my group had ever played the game. Instead of working individually, so one of us could triumph over the others, we worked together to find the best strategies and methods. Every time someone threw their handful of jacks to the floor, we analyzed them to find the best way to gather the jacks. We moaned when someone failed to gather their jacks in time and cheered when someone did the seemingly impossible. To us, the game was still fresh and new; we used each other s perspectives to figure it out. During our first game, for instance, Amanda received zero points, and I only won ten. But, by game two, Amanda and I, through trial and error and the feedback from the others, sharpened our skills to earn 51 and 40 points respectively. I was fairly happy with my success, ... The main reason that women were made was to give the men company, be the men s mate, and take care of the children. While the men were out all day working of finding food for the family, while his wife would be inside watching the children and cleaning the house. Humans were made out of organic materials: Most men were made from organic materials because the gods wanted them to either be apart of them or the earth. The cultures that used this motif were most likely people that loved the earth and worshiped their god everyday. • 29. Ethical Virtue and Nobility Essay Aristotle, in the Nicomachean Ethics, asserts that every ethical virtue aims at what is noble. In order to establish his definition of nobility, Aristotle takes the example of the virtue of courage. This virtue aims at what is noble, namely the common good, and this noble end is reached through courageous acts done by a brave man. There is a direct relationship between becoming good and loving what is noble. In order to become a good person, one must be conditioned to love what is noble and hate what is ignoble. This person will develop the proper character and be able to perform virtuous acts. One cannot become good without reverence for nobility. Furthermore, there also is a direct relationship between ethics and what is noble. Ethics ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The brave man in battle therefore exhibits the noblest and greatest form of courage. Aristotle goes on to elaborate the meaning of bravery. The man is in a healthy middle between cowardice and rashness. He is not fearless in every situation, as one might assume, but instead is the man who faces and who fears the right things and from the right motive, in the right way and at the right time, and who feels confidence under the corresponding conditions (EN III.7). Virtuous actions are done for their own sake, and so the same applies to the virtue of courage. The brave man works for courage as an end, which is noble. Therefore, the brave man acts courageously for a noble end. The concept of nobility becomes clear here. The brave man enters into a dangerous situation with a high possibility of death for the good of others. This self sacrifice and aim for the common good is most likely what Aristotle had in mind when referring to nobility. As for how loving what is noble is connected to becoming good, a love for nobility is necessary to be able to do good acts and be a good person. No one is born good and development of the soul is required for a person to become good. In order to have people act in accordance to good, they have to be cultivated by means of habits for noble joy and noble hatred (EN X.9). Polyphony which had seemed to be a key part of the stile antico with its many rules on line and counterpoint made a strong return through the Prelude and Fugue, particularly by Johann Sebastian Bach. J.S. Bach wrote many organ pieces with long and fluid contrapuntal passages still following the ideals set in the prima practica. Many of Bach s works had outlines brought pieces by such composers as Palestrina who some consider the father of the first practice. Palestrina s Missa sine nomine gave Bach a strong inspiration for his particularly famous Mass in B Minor. Through this polyphony Bach was able to inspire the Lutheran Church as well as the works of many other composers who would later use his works as basis for their own. Many of the composers who would do this would move out of the Church setting and into private parties and royal houses to entertain, which was not heard of by the earlier predecessors of Polyphony who would have stayed in the churches. From 1973 to 2011 approximately 53 million legal abortions were performed in the United States (Procon.org, 2015, p.1). Pro Choice supporters hail an abortion is a woman s choice and a protected personal right that should not be limited by governmental or religious authority (Procon.org, 2015, p.1). However, Pro Life supporters contend that a human life begins at the very moment of conception and thus an abortion is the immoral killing of an innocent human being (Procon.org, 2015, p.1). Moreover, the psychological affects of an abortion can be overwhelming such as increased depression and anxiety (Procon.org, 2015, p.1). A 2002 peer reviewed study published by the Southern Medical Journal... found that women who aborted were 154% more likely to commit suicide than women who carried to term (Procon.org, 2015, p.1). Pro Life supporters believe women must not be able to use an abortion as a means of contraception. If one becomes pregnant, one must be responsible for the child they have brought to the world. Thousands of families desire to adopt children, thus abortion significantly reduces the number of adoptable babies (Procon.org, 2015, p.1). Lastly, abortion promotes a culture in which human life is disposable and it is acceptable to rid of a life that inconveniences you (Procon.org, 2015, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
