Destructive Royal Family In Hamlet
William Shakespeare s Hamlet follows a character s struggle to be loyal to his late father to avenge his
death at the hands of his uncle. The play has an important emphasis on family and highlights the
supportive and destructive nature of these household relationships. Shakespeare uses the characters of
Hamlet and his uncle Claudius to show the death and destruction that these relatives bring to their
family. He also utilises the imagery rich dialogue in Hamlets soliloquies and his confrontation with his
mother to accentuate the positives and negatives of his family s actions. Finally the playwright uses
the example of Polonius supportive family to contrast with the destructive royal family to explore both
views of family in the play.

What Are Some Examples Of Norm Violations
Some examples of violations that I committed to strangers are joining a table with a random couple at
a restaurant and looking over into someone s phone or newspaper while they are using them. In the
first incidence of the joining, a random couple at a restaurant was in front of witnesses because it is a
public space. In the second incident, I leaped over the side of the other individual in the public
transport and started reading their newspapers and the activities while they looked into their phones.
The people looked at me surprised at first but then became mad after they realized I was not giving up
and became protectorate of their space. The victims in both situations did not become mad at the first
instance but they were curious with what I was doing. The mood changed after several minutes of
realizing that I did not stop and thus the couple on a date asked me to leave the table and ask the
waiter for another table. In the second instance, in the public transport vehicle the individual became
mad at me and even shoved back and asked me to stop ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The person that was using their phone and reading the newspapers require their time and space
because the phone is a personal item and no individual should look into it without their permission. I
was not surprised at the people s reactions, however I was wondering how some of them were patient
to the way I interfered with their space and time. If we could reverse the role in any of the space
violations, I would have ended up boiling up with anger and even might get physical because people
should learn and respect the personal space I personally would have reacted worse compared to most
of the people that I violated because I love and prefer my space. Most people are protectorate of their
personal space and this makes it important to come up with behaviors that do not interfere with the

Abstract
According to, A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) (4th.Ed.),
Project managers spend the majority of their time communicating with team members and other
project stakeholders, whether they are internal (at all organizational levels) or external to the
organization (PMI, 2008, p. 274). The PMI also suggests that project managers should spend 90% of
their time communicating. Statistics shows that 20% projects are unsuccessful because of ineffective
communication (Figure 1). Figure 1 Unsuccessful projects due to ineffective communication
According to Ralph L Kliem as quoted in Effective Communications for Project Management. (2007,
p. 3), poor communications can have a costly impact on projects as they progress though project life
cycles . (Figure 1.2). Figure 2 Bad communications

Reflection On Teaching Style
Furthermore, as I read the assigned articles and viewed videos, I realized that my teachers obviously,
followed Piaget s, Vygotsky. Dewey, and Bruner constructivist view because they used the theory of
assimilation and accommodation, e.g., the learning of a new experience and changing of a person s
worldview. I also discovered after deep reflection on this week s assignment, how much of an impact
my teachers had on my teaching style. Before retiring, I taught based on what my students needed.
Therefore, much of my teaching mixed the theories of, Constructivism, Social Constructivism and
Cognitive Behavioral depending on the student. In fact, I realized, as I continued to read, my teachers
did a lot of modeling and demonstrations on completing a task. In addition, they had the ability to
adjust learning to their students learning need and style, even though learning styles were not part of
the system yet (Hamond et al., n.d.). Therefore, much of my teaching mimics how I learned from
those teachers. I believe in guiding my students toward discovery on their own; therefore, my lessons
were thought out, so they encompassed each student s learning style. I taught 6th grade social studies,
not an exhilarating course to garner excitement. However, the use of modeling, multiple intelligences,
scaffolding, and differentiated learning I feel greatly enhanced learning. As a matter of fact, according
to Coffey (2013), research showed an effective strategy of instruction is modeling

Charles Augustus Lindbergh s Influence On Aviation
Charles Augustus Lindbergh, or Slim to his close friend, was a simple airmail pilot who gained world
fame for his record breaking flight across the Atlantic. He is often considered the greatest aviator of all
time, and using his fame, has played a large role in the development promotion of aviation and even
space travel. Charles Augustus Lindbergh s life began on February 4th, 1902 in Detroit, Michigan.
Shortly afterward, the Lindberghs moved to Little Falls, Minnesota into a house they called Lindholm.
He grew up on their Minnesota farm with his two half sisters Eva, Lillian, and parents Evangeline
Lindbergh and Charles A. Lindbergh, Senior. His father was a Minnesota congressman and his mother

Lindbergh came to to back his flight. Knight used his connections to put Charles in contact with the
head of the St. Louis Chamber of Commerce, Harold Bixby, who agreed to sponsor the flight after
meeting with Charles. Together, Bixby, Knight, and Lindbergh agreed on a budget of $15,000. Charles
first contacted Wright Bellanca Flight Corporation to try to buy a plane, but was refused, being told
that they did not want to put the new plane on the line by choosing Lindbergh, a new and unproven
pilot. Charles`s next target was the Dutch aircraft manufacturer Fokker. He was unfortunately turned
down as well for the same reasons, even though they suspected that he could make the flight. A
telegram later came, from a small Aircraft Company in southwestern California called Ryan. They
offered to design and manufacture a custom Ryan M 2 specially for the flight for only $6,000.
Lindbergh made some more attempts to get a Fokker but to no avail, forcing him to accept Ryan`s
offer. He flew himself down to California to help design and oversee manufacturing of the aircraft. His
first impression of the company was one of high disappointment. The Ryan factory was an old fish
cannery with a foul odor lingering in the air. After meeting with Mahoney and Donald Hall, however,
he was feeling much better about choosing the small company. He was very

Anne Bradstreet Suffering
Suffering, a Gateway to Happiness According to Marcel Proust, a famous French novelist of the 18th
century, We are healed from suffering only by experiencing it to the full . Every human being on Earth
will inevitably suffer. This is especially evident in William Bradford s book Of Plymouth Plantation,
Jonathan Edwards sermon Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God, and Anne Bradstreet s poem For
Deliverance From a Fever. Bradford recounts the perilous journey of the English pilgrims to now
America, while Edwards depicts the consequences of disbelief in God. Finally, Bradstreet s poem
paints the the image of a deathly sick woman and her suffering. In all three of these literary works,
physical suffering is depicted as an opportunity for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After careful analysis of all three literary pieces, evidently, suffering is constructed as an opportunity
to obtain spiritual redemption as a result of trust in God and to deliver one s self from current and
future suffering. However, on a much larger and broader scale, the three writings in general
summarize a core belief from the Bible: When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers
them out of all their troubles(Moses, Psalm 34:17). When the deserving Christians are in a bad
position and trust God to help, they will be spiritually

The Environmental Problems Of Global Warming
Human population rise, industrilisation and the increased requirement for natural resources has led to
many environmental problems, beside global warming. With reference to specific examples, discuss
those environmental problems and their possible solutions.
Modern humans deeply influence the form and function of the ecosphere (Hugget et al: 2004). During
the twentieth century alone the world s population increased from 1.65 billion to 6 billion and just
now the worlds population stands at over seven billion. The rapid growth rate of the human population
means that there are now many environmental problems such as pollution, deforestation, food and
energy shortages, waste, water storage and climate change. These problems have meant ... Show more

One of the many environmental problems faced today by human activity is deforestation.
Deforestation refers to the term used to describe the demolition of woodland, forest cover and
plantations to allow space for agriculture, industrialization or for urban uses. Forest clearance which is
associated with extreme local impacts such as loss of habitat, loss of biological diversity and
instability of slopes and soils (Hugget et al: 2004). There are many reasons for deforestation, such as
agricultural activities, urbanization, logging, mining and the desertification of land (conserve energy
future: 2014). According to the United Nations food and agriculture organization every year almost
eighteen million acres of forests are lost and destroyed each year (FAO: 2014). The rapid and ever
increasing rate of deforestation makes it very dangerous and distressing and fear of the long term
effects that may be a result if the rate of clearing does not decrease or is controlled. The Amazonian is
the largest rainforest in the world, spreading across an area of 1.7 billion acres through Brazil, Peru,
Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana. The forest supplies the
world with more than twenty percent of its oxygen and is referred to as the world s lungs (tropical
rainforest facts). The rainforest is being destroyed at a fast and alarming rate with 2,700 million acres
being cleared

Cytological Screening
The focus of this essay is on the process that takes place in the pathology laboratory, where the
cervical samples are sent for cytological screening. A cervical cell sample that has no abnormal cells is
categorised cytologically as being negative (negative for the presence of HPV or risk of cervical
cancer). Alternatively, samples may be identified as containing borderline abnormal changes, or
having dyskaryosis (Health and Social Care Information Centre, 2013). In some literature the terms
dysplasia or CIN (cervical intraepithelial neoplasia) seem to be used in place of dyskaryosis (Eifel et
al., 2011), but NHS literature seems to make most consistent reference to dyskaryosis. The extent of
dyskaryosis is then classified across a range from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The aim of this new method was initially to try to reduce false negative and false positive results
(Karnon et al., 2004; Siebers et al., 2009), as well as the number of samples that are inadequate or
unsatisfactory for effective screening (Arbyn et al., 2008; Siebers et al., 2009). In the conventional
cytology method, a woman s cervical sample is transferred directly from the collection spatula onto a
microscopic slide (Arbyn et al., 2008; Moss et al., 2003). This transfer process seems to sometimes
lead samples to be inadequate for screening because the transferred cells are too difficult to clearly
discern. This manual process does also, very occasionally, result in false results, even when conducted
by experienced cytologists. The liquid based cytology (LBC) method involves a slightly different
approach to the preparation of the slides. The cell sample is placed into a vial containing a
preservative fluid (Arbyn et al., 2008; Moss et al., 2003). This creates a liquid suspension of the
sample, which can then be poured onto the slide in a very thin, uniform layer. However, debate
remains over whether this method really offers a substantial improvement over conventional cytology.
The main points of contention surround accuracy and cost effectiveness, with other arguments relating
to patient anxiety and opportunities for HPV

Essay on Carbon Footprint of Coca-Cola Company
Coca Cola: Steps Toward a Greener Future
Abstract: Global climate change is a critical, environmental issue plaguing our planet. Greenhouse gas
emissions from fossil fuels have skyrocketed since the beginnings of the Industrial Revolution thus
contributing increases in average global temperature. Thus, numerous organizations and individuals
have taken action to reduce their carbon footprints in order to lessen their impact on the environment.
Coca Cola, the ever popular, soft drink corporation is one of these organizations that is taking action to
curtail its carbon dioxide emissions in order to create a greener reputation. One of the ways in which it
is attempting to accomplish this goal is through the acquisition of healthful, ... Show more content on

Moreover, in attempts to keep up with its rival, PepsiCo, in the acquisition of different brands, Coca
Cola acquired the juice brand Odwalla in 2001 since PepsiCo had already began acquiring a variety of
healthful brands that claimed to be earth friendly and a healthy choice for the consumer. Odwalla is an
all natural juice brand, which sells popular juice drinks, smoothies, and nourishment bars, which are
produced, from all natural and the best quality ingredients without any artificial additives or
preservatives. Moreover, Odwalla boasts that all of its processes are eco friendly. Thus Coca Cola may
inevitably benefit a great deal from the acquisition of such an earth friendly brand because it may help
to reduce the company s ecological footprint. So, the question that we present and analyze throughout
this investigation is, whether Coca Cola the all American company has succeeded in reducing its
carbon footprint with the procurement of a greener motto.
What is a Carbon Footprint?
Global climate change is a pressing issue, yet still remains a quite disputable topic among both the
public and the scientific community. Nevertheless, there

The Norse tale of Ragnarok Essay
The Norse tale of Ragnarok presents an interesting example of apocalyptic literature by providing
both an end and a unique beginning. The world which rises from the cosmic rubble seems to be
essentially equivalent to that which the apocalypse destroyed, possessing the same creatures, features
and Gods of times past. This considered, and by incorporating themes of time and fate, Snorri
challenges the concepts of the past, present and future of Norse lore by providing a framework which
allows for the potential reiteration of history. By reviewing The Prose Edda s telling of the events
surrounding Ragnarok, the relationship between fate, time and history provide a unique alternative to
the standard eschatological timeline. The Prose Edda ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead the Gods are awarded most of the spotlight. Unlike John s Revelation, The Poetic Edda offers
no guidance to man on how to confront this issue, nor does it offer any means of escape. Therefor, it
can be assumed that man has no effect on the end, except possibly by way of untrimmed nails and
scrap leather (Snorri, 72). However, by presenting deities that possess more human characteristics,
who have weaknesses and quarrels, they become the relatable entities within the text. Introductions
established, The Edda continues by exhibiting the questioning of Odin, chief of the Gods, by Gylfi, a
traveling king (Snorri, 10). Gylfi asks about the race of Gods, to which Odin tells the story of his wife
Frigg and their favorite son Balder. The purity of whom foreshadows his future significance. Balder,
Odin responds, suffered from a series of foreboding dreams which prompts Frigg s to take maternal
action. She traveled the world, requiring an oath from every substance and material that they will not
harm her son. Thus protected, Balder could bear the abuse of swords, sticks and fire without
sustaining injury (Snorri, 65). Here Odin introduces of Loki, the trickster God, who becomes jealous
of Balder s immunity. While disguised, Loki asks Frigg Have all things given their oath not to harm

Marcus Linius Crassus
The Life of Marcus Linius Crassus
Marcus Linius Crassus was one of the most rich and powerful Romans during his time. He was rich
with both money and slaves, but mostly in victories, for he won many battles as a general whilst
working for Sulla. This man made a phenomenal impact on the lives of many Romans, including his
colleagues Gaius Julius Caesar and Gnaeus Pompey, but he also destroyed many as well. In the year of
115 BC, Marcus was born, taking his place in his miniscule house that already held two of his
brothers, and their families, and both of his parents. Though born within a minute household, that did
not stop Crassus from doing great things, for when Crassus was in his late twenties, he and the
majority of his family (including a man named Cinna), stole Rome right out from under Sulla s

reputation as he ruled with the man in 97 BCE. Together, Marcus and Sulla did not rule over many,
merely Iberia and Lusitania. Over time, Marcus received many accolades for his accompanying Sulla
during Sulla s campaigns in Italy, but, sadly, not long after, Marcus was knocked down by the man,
due to his excessive greed and need to purchase land. Though he was greedy, Crassus had no reason to

Drought In The Dust Bowl
The Dust Bowl drought was the worst in U.S. history that was around 1930. It was in the mid west
where it covered sixty percent of the country. Millions of people had to move to other parts because it
lasted four years. It was at its peak in 1934 according to National Climate Data Center . We already
have a lot of drought in California and west although one might say it is all of the U.S. With little rain
and high tempatures in the summers drys out the vegatation which become a hazard for fires. Global
warming might have some to do with the problem of drought. High populations need more water, with
more water being used, depletes resources of water supplies which causes drought also. People need to
become more aware of the use of the use of water, a lot of people take it for granite that there is plenty

The Effect Of Prostaglandins On The Inflammation Pathway...
The role of prostaglandins in the inflammation pathway and the mechanism of action of NSAIDs
Student ID: 51555517 Date: 11 11 2015
Inflammation is a defense reaction, whereby harmful factors are removed and tissue structure and
function are restored. During the acute phase of inflammation, first neutrophils will arrive, followed
by monocytes. The monocytes mature into inflammatory macrophages and will finally affect the
function of the resident tissue macrophages [Figure 1]. These responses lead to swelling, redness, heat
and often pain. Once the first stimulus is removed, the reaction will stop and the inflammatory cells
will be returned to pre inflammatory numbers. Prostaglandins play an important role in immune
reactions and are therefore often targeted by anti inflammatory drugs, such as non steroid anti
inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). The specific role of prostaglandins and the mechanism of action of
NSAIDs will be discussed (Ricciotti; FitzGerald, 2011). Figure 1. Basic diagram of acute
inflammation (Reilkoff; Bucala et al., 2011)
Prostaglandins in general
Prostaglandins are formed when arachidonic acid is released from the plasma membrane by
phospholipases [Figure 2]. This acid is metabolized by PGG/H synthase or cyclooxygenase (COX).
The four main bioactive prostaglandins are generated in vivo: prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), prostacyclin
(PGI2), prostaglandin D2 (PGD2) and prostaglandin F2 (PGF2).

Causes Of Qin Dynasty
Along the Ancient Chinese History, Qin State was the first one that conquered six major states and
unified China became Qin Dynasty. Under the rules of Qinshihuang, the first King of the Qin dynasty
and he was the first one that centralized monarchy in ancient Chinese history. Nevertheless, the glory
of Qin Dynasty only lasted for fifteen years due to the burning of books and burying of scholars,
tyrannical rulers, compulsory labors, and the incompetence of the emperor. Especially because of
Qinershi the ruler of the social chaos and fatuous incompetence, which was the second son of
Qinshihuang, he was the main causes of Qin dynasty became extinct.
The Qin s wars of unification
Before the Qin State became a Dynasty the Qin State had an unexceptionable start that changed its
destiny. Because of the most famous war that Qin State led, it lasted about ten years. In the beginning
of the Qin s wars of unification around 230 BC, Qin state was the first state declared war on Han State
and occupied most of the lands of Han State in only six months. Then Qin State declared war on Zhao
State, while Zhao was attacking Yan, Qin used the opportunity to send two separate forces to invade
Zhao. At that time Qin State conquered all the lands from Yangzijiang to the south. In the end of the
223 BC, Qin State launched another attack on Chu State and captured the capital of Chu and the king
of Chu, and he was annexed by Qin. At the end of 221 BC, Qin State destroyed Qi State and occupied

Making A Decision For A Career
Making a Decision
As a junior in highschool, I do not have an abundance of time left to come up with a strategy for my
life after I graduate. After that life s free ride is over and I will not have anyone to dictate what I do or
where I go. I have spent most all of my school career searching for a adult career. I believe a viable
choice for my profession; one that I have interests in, suits my desired lifestyle, education goals, and
skills; is a job as a Physician Assistant.
What I Know
Ever since I was little, I have had an interest in a career in the medical field. When I was seven, I was
diagnosed with Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy. My condition demanded traveling to massive
pediatric hospitals, being examined by physicians, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Reasons for Writing As I have said earlier, I have only about a year and a half of time left before I
pack up my belongings and head off to college. I have put a great amount of thought and consideration
into my choices; however, I have not made a definite decision on my future. The thought of going out
into the world without any idea as to what I will be doing is frightening. So I would have to say that
my main reason for writing this paper is searching in depth for a answer for my future. Even if I do
not find a clear cut solution, I will at least narrow down my choices. Moreover, I want to make
absolutely sure that the career I commit to is one I would enjoy. I have many varied interests such as
art, biology, chemistry, history, and writing. Having so many interest does not help , when I also tend
to be indecisive. I have changed career goals at least three times in the last year. Ultimately, my goal is
to have a rewarding career that I am passionate about.
The Search According to several personality, job interest, and job skills assessments, I should be
looking at careers based in science. My personality, as described by the Myer Briggs questionnaire,
support a job where I have the opportunity to investigate ( INTP Personality ( The Logician ). ). I have

Thomas Hardy s The Darkling Thrush And The Lost Baby Poem
Imagine a time when you or someone you know has gone through loss; how alone that feeling was.
Yet, the hardship it brought did not last forever. There was always something that made life worth
living again. Life is filled with sad endings and bright, new beginnings. It is an inevitable cycle that
everyone can relate to on some level. Whether it is the ending of a life or the end of a century, both
Lucille Clifton and Thomas Hardy prove that endings can be difficult, yet there is some form of hope
within each of their poems. Hardy s The Darkling Thrush and Clifton s The Lost Baby Poem have
different styles due to the poets vastly different backgrounds, yet both poems posses a similar somber
tone throughout, with a glimmer of positivity by the end of each. Lucille Clifton and Thomas Hardy
have vastly different writing styles, which could be attributed to their dissimilar backgrounds. Clifton,
a 20th century African American poet, wrote short yet powerful poetry, and her use of lowercase type
in a large portion of her works makes her tone come off as understanding to the average reader.
Another interpretation of her use of lowercase type in The Lost Baby Poem specifically, is the idea
that Clifton was ashamed of herself and therefor did not feel worthy of writing in a distinguished
manner. My interpretation of her lack of punctuation makes her tone seem dismal and depressed.
Hardy, who comes from English descent, lived through lots of turmoil, including WWI, and his

Shamanism In Alaska Research Paper
Christian mission in Alaska dates back to around 1794; it might have been a little before this time due
to the Russian fur trade, but it was in 1794 when the first Russian Orthodox missionaries came. The
spread of Christianity in Alaska continued to spread over the years. Alaska Mission for Christ is an
organization that leads many mission teams in different villages of Alaska today. Before Christianity
came to Alaska, Shamanism was a huge part of the Native Alaskan culture. This paper will discuss
Shamanism and its impact, the start of Christian missions in Alaska, as well as, Alaska Mission for
Christ and its work with Christian Mission today. Before Christianity was introduced to Alaska, the
natives believed and practiced Shamanism. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1794, the first Russian Orthodox missionaries came to Alaska to begin further sharing Christianity
to the natives. Many of the Orthodox missionaries defended Alaska Native people. The tsar in St.
Petersburg had always prohibited the poor treatment of Natives, but many fur traders ignored his
orders. Of the missionaries who defended the natives, none [were] more important [than] Ioann
Veniaminov, later named Bishop Innocent, the first Orthodox bishop in Alaska (Alaska Humanities
Forum). Veniaminov worked to translate the Russian Liturgical into the vernacular of the people and
continued to learn about their culture, he also helped out with giving vaccinations when there was a
smallpox epidemic. Veniaminov cared for the natives and took care of them and learned their culture
and language instead of forcing his upon them. In 1870, a Presbyterian missionary came to Alaska.
This missionary s name was Sheldon Jackson and not only shared Christianity with the natives, but
was also heavily involved in their educational programs. Jackson had no problem in mixing religion
with education when it came to establishing churches in Alaska, converting the natives and starting
schools. Jackson actively discouraged the use of indigenous languages, traditional cultures and
spiritualties (Andersen). Jackson is a complete 180 compared to Veniaminov. Missionaries were paid
from government educational funds to run their schools, while the goal of their teaching was not only
to educate but to evangelize. Even though Jackson s actions did not seem the best, the effects of [his]
allocations to Protestant missionary work is [still] evident by thriving Protestant churches of different
kinds in villages relatively close together (Andersen). These were two main groups in the beginning of

Loan Portfolio Management
Loan Portfolio Management
Introduction
Background:
L ending is the principal business activity for most commercial banks. The loan portfolio is typically
the largest asset and the predominate source of revenue. As such, it is one of the greatest sources of
risk to a bank s safety and soundness. Whether due to lax credit standards, poor portfolio risk
management, or weakness in the economy, loan portfolio problems have historically been the major
cause of bank losses and failures.
Effective management of the loan portfolio and the credit function is fundamental to a bank s safety
and soundness. Loan portfolio management (LPM) is the process by which risks that are inherent in
the credit process are managed and controlled. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An unregulated banking financial institution might be fraud with unmanageable risks for the purpose
of maximizing its potential return. In such a situation, the banking financial institutions might find
itself in a serious financial distress instead of improving its financial health. Consequently, not only
the depositors but also the shareholders will be deprived of getting back their money from the bank.
The deterioration of loan quality also affects the intermediative efficiency of the financial institutions
and thus the economic growth process of the country. This the reason for which the banking financial
institutions are being regulated in all countries. The banking financial institutions are also the most
regulated among all types of financial institutions in all countries, because of their substantial role in
payment mechanism (in addition to protect the loan portfolio from decaying).
Portfolio management is crucial for commercial banks, be it in developed or developing countries.
Mere accumulation of deposits gives rise to entries both in liabilities and assets sides of the balance
sheets. So, portfolio management involves in both liability and assets of commercial banks. If deposits
of a bank grow at a steady rate and if loan demands can be met from deposit growth, the bank will
have no problem of liquidity. In real life, deposits do not grow steadily all the time, nor does loan
demand grow in keeping with growth in deposits.

The Menagerie Sparknotes
The author depicts the hunger artist as a tragic figure, whose art of fasting, which was once widely
appreciated by the world, became totally neglected and forgotten. For the hunger artist whose only joy
and satisfaction in life is the excitement and admiration of the spectators, when that excitement turns
into disgust and the admiration turns into suspicion, so did the satisfaction the artist felt at the end of
each fasting performance. Alas, he became increasingly despondent and furious at the world for not
understanding his art. Yet, the hunger artist can t just give up his fasting ways, because for one thing
he fasted for so long he became too fanatically devoted to fasting; for another, he s too old in his years
it s not easy to adopt ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The hunger artist, unable to lower himself to show his art in a street booth, hired himself into a large
circus. Yet, even in a large circus with heavy foot traffic, interest in hunger artists are nearly non
existent. Because his cage is right by the menagerie, the little visitors he get are simply the one who
happens to be passing by to see the menagerie. The few visitors he get might have stayed longer, if not
for those pressing behind them behind them in the narrow gangway, who did not understand why they
should be held up on their way towards the excitements of the menagerie, made it impossible for
anyone to stand gazing for any length of time (Kafka, 4). As a result, he soon began to dislike the
visiting hours, for he can see in the eyes of the visitors that he is only a small impediment to the crowd
of people from visiting the better attraction, the menagerie. Although at last he was free to fast as long
as he like, free to astound the world of a never achieved record, the world isn t watching. The fine
placard by his cage once showing the number of fast days achieved ... had long stayed at the same
figure, for after the first few weeks even this small task seemed pointless to the staff (Kafka, 5). Even
after knowing he personally broke his fasting record, not even the staff of the circus he s working at is
interested, let alone the visitors. And occasionally some leisurely passer by stopped, made merry over
the old figure on the board and spoke of swindling made merry over the old figure on the board and
spoke of swindling, that was in its way the stupidest lie ever invented by indifference and inborn
malice, since it was not the hunger artist who was cheating, he was working honestly, but the world
was cheating him of his reward (Kafka, 5). The reward the hunger artist seeks from the world,

Poetic Techniques Used In Barter
Life is worth living, so live another day The meaning of forgiveness People make mistakes, doesn t
mean you have to give in Life is worth living again (Bieber lines 19 22) These song lyrics convey how
there are many poetic devices in Life is Worth Living . These lyrics show examples of symbolism,
repetition, and mood. Life is Worth Living has more poetic devices than the poem, Barter , which
makes the song lyrics more artistic through the use of metaphors, allusions, symbolism, alliteration,
hyperboles, mood, and repetition. Life is Worth Living uses many examples of repetition. One
example of repetition is in the lines, Life is worth living, so live another day The meaning of

The poem, Barter also uses repetition. Sara Teasdale incorporates this poetic device into her poem in
the lines, Life has loveliness to sell, (Teasdale lines 1, 7). Teasdale repeats this line because it is the
overall theme and message to the poem. This line is what she wants the reader to get out of the poem.
Overall, both the song and poem show examples of repetition. In both texts, the authors use many
symbols in their lyrics and words. In Life is Worth Living , Justin Bieber uses many symbols to
describe the message of the song. One example of that would be the lines, Said it ain t over / Oh, even
in the midst of doubt / Life is worth living (Bieber lines 16 18). This is symbolism because it is
symbolizing how you should never give up, no matter what the situation is. In Barter , there are also
many symbols that make up the poem. One of them being, Spend all you have for

When the quality throughput of the component is less than 95%, the demand is increased. Quality
measures are in place to alert the supplier when the throughput is less than 95% as desired but
additional demands with reduced quality requirements keep the supplier from delivering. Original
plans called for specific manufactured items for each component yet the supplier elected to use a less
expensive alternative which isn t meeting quality requirements.
To help mitigate the supplier risks, determine the supplier s attitude to safety, quality, and
environmental aspects to delivering components. Another treatment would be to appoint an onsite
supplier liaison manager responsible for signing off on any supplier and/or design changes. It would
also be helpful to have back to back contracts with sub contractors. IV. Fault Tree Two

In the second fault tree I illustrated the impact of labor on the delivery of the 787 Dreamliner. The
labor to assemble the airplane components at the Boeing facility in Everett is critical to ensure the on

contract will expire two months prior to the first assembly. The expiration of the machinist contract

Diagnosis And Therapeutic Strategies Of Ebola Virus
From the first outbreak in DRC in 1976 to the recent epidemic in West Africa (2013 2015), there has
been a considerable amount of research done to further the development of the diagnosis and
therapeutic strategies of the Ebola virus. Methods for detecting the virus have improved drastically.
From the initial stage of simply identifying the virus as a whole, diagnosis can now define the specific
species of the virus. Diagnosis processes developed over the years are those that involve Cell Culture,
Antibody Detection, Protein Antigen Detection, Conventional RT PCR, and Real Time RT PCR,
which is the current standard for EVD diagnosis. In terms of the therapeutic process, there is still no
cure or vaccine that has been approved or cleared for use on human patients with EVD. The therapy
hence largely depends on the immunity of the patient and general treatment of symptoms as they
occur.

Monitoring Performance And The Conditions Of Machines
Condition monitoring as a technique to monitor the performance and the conditions of machines is
used extensively in factories. Although condition monitoring has established since 1960 s, it is still
being develop in parallel with the advances in transducers and computer technology [1]. The benefit of
condition monitoring is to minimize unplanned maintenance of machinery as well as improves the
reliability and safety. In recent year, wired online condition monitoring (CM) systems have been
applied in many industrial machines. Because the systems relies on different types of cables for field
applications, the installation, the maintenance and cost become the major obstacles of their wide
applications [2],[3]. Remote condition monitoring ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although this method is low compared to modern condition monitoring techniques, it needs high skills
based on long experiences. The findings drawn by different examiners are sometimes not the same,
because of different personal skills and individual experiences [4]. 1 2 2 Monitoring of Machinery
Parameters This kind of condition monitoring is sometimes called trend monitoring which is another
useful means to identify machine abnormalities. For instance, pressure, current and voltage are good
examples of parameters which can be monitored to notice the changing in machines characteristics.
This monitoring method uses periodic measurements of a monitored parameter and implements the
data collected against time. Generally, any machine has a period of time before stop called early life
which is the period from the operation till it decays to the normal life period. Typically the amplitude
of parameters is high at the starting however it decreases rapidly to normal levels. The second one is
the normal life which is the period needed to perform a specific function. One of the maintenance
objectives is to maintain this period for as long as possible [6]. 1 2 3 Noise monitoring Noise

Sports Betting Lucrative in the United States
Robert Kiyosaki once said, Successful people take big risks knowing they might fall hard but they
might succeed more than they ever dreamed. This man is a billionaire that hit the jackpot, while
gambling. He now owns eleven different businesses and he is worth over eighty million dollars. If
someone could learn how to astute, they could live like him too. The articles, The Legalized Gambling
Debate, Sports Betting Should be Legal, and Should Sports Gambling be Legal?, all attribute thought
to this suggestion. Gambling is a feasible business as it provides revenue, sponsors education, and
inspires gamblers.
Sports gambling is legal in all the countries besides the United States. As Zak Lutz said in the article,
Should Sports Gambling be Legal?, sports gambling, for the most part, is illegal in the United States
with the exception of four states, which include Delaware, Nevada, Oregon, and Montana. We gamble
when we buy state lottery tickets, go to the horse tracks, and spend money at casinos. The federal law

dollars set aside for food and spend that. A person could bring maybe thirty dollars for souvenirs.
Instead of spending their money on that, they want to make a profit. Betting only a little bit of money

The Importance Of Bilingual Education In The United States
A common joke says What do you call someone who speaks two languages? in which the person
being asked the question would usually respond with bilingual. It goes on to ask about those who

one language? to which the punch line is an American. According to the 2006 General Social Survey,
only 25 percent of American adults are fluent in a foreign language, while only 7 percent cite the
source of this education to formal schooling (Devlin 1). Large amounts of evidence point to the
benefits of being multilingual. Although the United States has a few laws that help immigrants

It is important in the United States to have a competitive workforce, and a great way to do that is to
have a society of learners that can communicate with people of other cultures and ethnic backgrounds.
Although there are efforts for teaching school children other languages, most programs are primitive
at best, left to be forgotten before the skills reach the point of relevancy. Dual language programs
should be established in the US wherever feasible to give parents, at the very least, the choice to
expand the minds of their children. Recent years have seen the inclusion of voluntary language

Taking a Look at a Coma
A coma also known as a persistent vegetative state is a very deep state of unconsciousness which will
last more than six hours, and in which the person is still very much alive, with normal breathing
cycles, but can t respond to any stimuli, or his/her surrounding environment. This can usually be tested
by medics putting the individual through (normally) painful and/or problematic stimulants. The patient
is also unable to move, see, hear or speak.
The coma takes away higher brain functions, thinking capacities and awareness of surroundings, but
the usual circulation, breathing and cognitive sleeping patterns are still kept. The coma can take place
as a result of extreme injuries (head injuries are most common), or as a product of several underlying
diseases or infections; a large variety of causes.
The coma comes from the Greek word koma meaning state of sleep. Coma in the past was very much
of an unsolved enigma. People couldn t see the reasons of people falling into a death like sleep, but
still breathing and carrying out normal sleep patterns. They didn t know of any treatment to cure this
mysterious disease, so they could only leave the people in their comas, deciding that time was the only
cure, but also allowing the people succumb to the usual infections which are picked up from the
patient s immobility while in the coma itself.
Over time, comas have been treated far better with the research done through time. But, despite the
rather weird situation, films

The Religion Of The Nation Of Israel
Abram, a pagan gentile called from a pagan land and culture, became the patriarch of the Nation of
Israel. Moreover, through God s covenant with him his numerous descendants inherited Palestine and
from them came Messiah, the blessing to all peoples on earth. Understanding the culture of Ur of the
Chaldeans, Abram s place of origin, requires a determination of where this area was located and
analyzing archaeological discoveries of that area in conjunction with other disciplines of biblical
study.
About 1800 B.C. Abram s father, Terah, took his family and left Ur for Canaan but settled in Haran
where Terah died. Haran was located in the southern part of modern day Turkey. After his father s
death, Abram was called by God to continue his journey to the land of Canaan and he was called from,
Ur of the Chaldeans. Abraham s call from this pagan culture further affirms that God is both merciful
and gracious as well as sovereign over the affairs of mankind.
Ur of the Chaldeans is the first reference to the city in the biblical narrative with regards to Abram s
city of origin. Abram s brother, Haran, died in Ur before Terah, Abram s and Haran s father, took the
family to the city of Haran, a well known stop along trade routes in Mesopotamia. The exact location
of where the ancient city of Ur was located is debatable.
Prior to an 1849 excavation by Sir. W.K. Loftus of a site located in modern day southern Iraq, most
scholars placed Ur in the north based on the biblical narrative

Tessie Hutchinson s Scapegoat In The Lottery
The Lottery
The word scapegoat derives from the English translation of the Hebrew term azazel which can be
found in the bible. The bible explains to us what the meaning is behind the word scapegoat; it was a
goat that was specifically designated to go out in to the wilderness on the Day of Atonement to bear
the blame for others. While in the wild the goat would eventually be killed which would make the
village people feel that they had been cleaned of all sins. While watching a movie based on the bible I
remember a scene where there was a women being stoned to death because of the sins she had
committed. I m not too certain how far back this goes back but it has for sure been around for some
time now.
In the story The Lottery , we find out that Tessie Hutchinson was chosen to be the towns scapegoat.
Reading the title of the story I figured that it would be based on money, but sadly it had nothing to do
with money. Mrs. Hutchinson s village had an annual lottery in which everyone in the household was

Ernest Becker Response To Death
Is Ernest Becker correct in arguing that the terror of death shapes societal attitudes? What are the
different emotional and intellectual responses to death and how significant do you think they are?
Ernest Becker was a cultural anthropologist who believed that the characters of individuals in society
are shaped by a process of death denial and death anxiety. Due to the contradiction of humans being
an emergent life that does not seem to have any more meaning than a non emergent life (CITE birth
and death). Through this process of mortality denial, an individual could continue to function and

(CITE tmt) Terror management underlies the conflict human s face due to their desire to live and the
terror and anxiety they feel due to their knowledge of the certainty of death. They combat the terror of
death by erecting defences against death (CITE denial of death ). Terror management theory suggests
that people learn to alleviate their fear of death by finding meaning in life and value in themselves

the existential anxiety that is kept at bay by an individuals cultural worldview and sense of self

the terror of death on a collective, large scale. On an individual level, terror managemnt theory helps
to alleviate death anxiety and terror by bolstering invidual self esteem . Through this, we can escape
the fear of extinction with insignificance (CITE Endings). However, due to culture being a symbolic

Theme Of Motif In The Kite Runner
A widespread mythological and literary motif is the one of two brothers, who hate or are in conflict
with each other and which sometimes even ends in the murder of one of those brothers.
This is the definition found in a German encyclopaedia. Some famous examples one can find in
mythology are:
Osiris and Seth (Egyptian Mythology)
Kabil and Habil (Koran)
Cain and Abel (Bible)
Romulus and Remus (Roman Mythology)
Polyneikes and Eteokles (Greek Mythology)
And many more
So as one can see many people, cultures and religions do use this motif.
One can ask now, aren t brothers supposed to be very close and are they not often also used as a
symbol for humanity and compassion? Yes, this is actually the case and it is normally not that the
brothers had hated each other since birth but the conflict normally start with a rivalry between the
brothers. This rivalry can come from the human rivalry about the love of a god, as in Cain and Abel ,
or the fight about the rule of a city, as in Polyneikes and Eteokles , or simply the rivalry about the love
of a father as in The Kite Runner. Shortened it can be said, that it is a motif of jealousy.
These similarities show that the different religion and people are not actually that different and ...

Stroop in 1935 was performed in order to analyze the reaction time of participant s stimuli and desired

students also showed a difference when compared to the men and tended to have higher word reading
results, but in regards to the genders showed no significant differentiation between both at the
cognitive level. Alansari and Baroun (2004) had participants state whether they were color blind,
dyslexic, or if they had previously ever taken the Stroop test before, it was important that these
interferences were factored out in order to obtain a conclusive observation in regards to all the
participants involved in the experiment. MacLeod (1991) had suggested that those with disabilities
tended to show high Stroop interference, also along with those with an attention deficit disorder since
maintaining concentration throughout the experiment and test is an important factor in obtaining more
accurate results without a significant outlier. Also different levels of interference where shown in
children and adults, it was also observed that interference began at an early age, declined in the adult

more capable the company is of paying its obligations. A ratio under 1 suggests that the company
would be unable to pay off its obligations if they came due at that point. However, marl mart huge size
requires much more debts to finance it operations. Wal Mart s 0.89 is not the best financial position,

Dewey, and Bruner constructivist view because they used the theory of assimilation and accommodation, e.g., the learning of a new experience and changing of a person s worldview. I also discovered after deep reflection on this week s assignment, how much of an impact my teachers had on my teaching style. Before retiring, I taught based on what my students needed. Therefore, much of my teaching mixed the theories of, Constructivism, Social Constructivism and Cognitive Behavioral depending on the student. In fact, I realized, as I continued to read, my teachers did a lot of modeling and demonstrations on completing a task. In addition, they had the ability to adjust learning to their students learning need and style, even though learning styles were not part of the system yet (Hamond et al., n.d.). Therefore, much of my teaching mimics how I learned from those teachers. I believe in guiding my students toward discovery on their own; therefore, my lessons were thought out, so they encompassed each student s learning style. I taught 6th grade social studies, not an exhilarating course to garner excitement. However, the use of modeling, multiple intelligences, scaffolding, and differentiated learning I feel greatly enhanced learning. A cervical cell sample that has no abnormal cells is categorised cytologically as being negative (negative for the presence of HPV or risk of cervical cancer). Alternatively, samples may be identified as containing borderline abnormal changes, or having dyskaryosis (Health and Social Care Information Centre, 2013). In some literature the terms dysplasia or CIN (cervical intraepithelial neoplasia) seem to be used in place of dyskaryosis (Eifel et al., 2011), but NHS literature seems to make most consistent reference to dyskaryosis. In the conventional cytology method, a woman s cervical sample is transferred directly from the collection spatula onto a microscopic slide (Arbyn et al., 2008; Moss et al., 2003). This transfer process seems to sometimes lead samples to be inadequate for screening because the transferred cells are too difficult to clearly discern. This manual process does also, very occasionally, result in false results, even when conducted by experienced cytologists. The liquid based cytology (LBC) method involves a slightly different approach to the preparation of the slides. The cell sample is placed into a vial containing a preservative fluid (Arbyn et al., 2008; Moss et al., 2003). This creates a liquid suspension of the sample, which can then be poured onto the slide in a very thin, uniform layer. However, debate remains over whether this method really offers a substantial improvement over conventional cytology. • 17. The Effect Of Prostaglandins On The Inflammation Pathway... The role of prostaglandins in the inflammation pathway and the mechanism of action of NSAIDs Student ID: 51555517 Date: 11 11 2015 Inflammation is a defense reaction, whereby harmful factors are removed and tissue structure and function are restored. During the acute phase of inflammation, first neutrophils will arrive, followed by monocytes. The monocytes mature into inflammatory macrophages and will finally affect the function of the resident tissue macrophages [Figure 1]. These responses lead to swelling, redness, heat and often pain. Once the first stimulus is removed, the reaction will stop and the inflammatory cells will be returned to pre inflammatory numbers. Prostaglandins play an important role in immune reactions and are therefore often targeted by anti inflammatory drugs, such as non steroid anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). The specific role of prostaglandins and the mechanism of action of NSAIDs will be discussed (Ricciotti; FitzGerald, 2011). Figure 1. Basic diagram of acute inflammation (Reilkoff; Bucala et al., 2011) Prostaglandins in general Prostaglandins are formed when arachidonic acid is released from the plasma membrane by phospholipases [Figure 2]. Clifton, a 20th century African American poet, wrote short yet powerful poetry, and her use of lowercase type in a large portion of her works makes her tone come off as understanding to the average reader. Another interpretation of her use of lowercase type in The Lost Baby Poem specifically, is the idea that Clifton was ashamed of herself and therefor did not feel worthy of writing in a distinguished manner. Overall, both the song and poem show examples of repetition. In both texts, the authors use many symbols in their lyrics and words. In Life is Worth Living , Justin Bieber uses many symbols to describe the message of the song. One example of that would be the lines, Said it ain t over / Oh, even in the midst of doubt / Life is worth living (Bieber lines 16 18). To help mitigate the supplier risks, determine the supplier s attitude to safety, quality, and environmental aspects to delivering components. Another treatment would be to appoint an onsite supplier liaison manager responsible for signing off on any supplier and/or design changes. Diagnosis And Therapeutic Strategies Of Ebola Virus From the first outbreak in DRC in 1976 to the recent epidemic in West Africa (2013 2015), there has been a considerable amount of research done to further the development of the diagnosis and therapeutic strategies of the Ebola virus. Methods for detecting the virus have improved drastically. From the initial stage of simply identifying the virus as a whole, diagnosis can now define the specific species of the virus. Diagnosis processes developed over the years are those that involve Cell Culture, Antibody Detection, Protein Antigen Detection, Conventional RT PCR, and Real Time RT PCR, which is the current standard for EVD diagnosis. In terms of the therapeutic process, there is still no cure or vaccine that has been approved or cleared for use on human patients with EVD. The therapy hence largely depends on the immunity of the patient and general treatment of symptoms as they occur. INTRODUCTION EBOV (Ebola virus) is an enveloped RNA virus belonging to the family Filoviridae; under the electron microscope, it appears filamentous (Strong, et al. 2006). The genus Ebolavirus comprises of five EBOVs; EBOV being identified as the causative agent of the recent outbreak (Broadhurst, Brooks Pollock, 2016). Ebola virus disease is caused by three Ebolaviruses EBOV included. In humans, the disease is clinically characterized by severe hemorrhagic fever with a 90% fatality rate. Although condition monitoring has established since 1960 s, it is still being develop in parallel with the advances in transducers and computer technology [1]. The benefit of condition monitoring is to minimize unplanned maintenance of machinery as well as improves the reliability and safety. In recent year, wired online condition monitoring (CM) systems have been applied in many industrial machines. Because the systems relies on different types of cables for field applications, the installation, the maintenance and cost become the major obstacles of their wide applications [2],[3]. For instance, pressure, current and voltage are good examples of parameters which can be monitored to notice the changing in machines characteristics. This monitoring method uses periodic measurements of a monitored parameter and implements the data collected against time. Generally, any machine has a period of time before stop called early life which is the period from the operation till it decays to the normal life period. Taking a Look at a Coma A coma also known as a persistent vegetative state is a very deep state of unconsciousness which will last more than six hours, and in which the person is still very much alive, with normal breathing cycles, but can t respond to any stimuli, or his/her surrounding environment. This can usually be tested by medics putting the individual through (normally) painful and/or problematic stimulants. The patient is also unable to move, see, hear or speak. The coma takes away higher brain functions, thinking capacities and awareness of surroundings, but the usual circulation, breathing and cognitive sleeping patterns are still kept. The coma can take place as a result of extreme injuries (head injuries are most common), or as a product of several underlying diseases or infections; a large variety of causes. The coma comes from the Greek word koma meaning state of sleep. Coma in the past was very much of an unsolved enigma. People couldn t see the reasons of people falling into a death like sleep, but still breathing and carrying out normal sleep patterns. They didn t know of any treatment to cure this mysterious disease, so they could only leave the people in their comas, deciding that time was the only cure, but also allowing the people succumb to the usual infections which are picked up from the patient s immobility while in the coma itself. Understanding the culture of Ur of the Chaldeans, Abram s place of origin, requires a determination of where this area was located and analyzing archaeological discoveries of that area in conjunction with other disciplines of biblical study. About 1800 B.C. Abram s father, Terah, took his family and left Ur for Canaan but settled in Haran where Terah died. Haran was located in the southern part of modern day Turkey. After his father s death, Abram was called by God to continue his journey to the land of Canaan and he was called from, Ur of the Chaldeans. Abraham s call from this pagan culture further affirms that God is both merciful and gracious as well as sovereign over the affairs of mankind. Ur of the Chaldeans is the first reference to the city in the biblical narrative with regards to Abram s city of origin. Abram s brother, Haran, died in Ur before Terah, Abram s and Haran s father, took the family to the city of Haran, a well known stop along trade routes in Mesopotamia. The bible explains to us what the meaning is behind the word scapegoat; it was a goat that was specifically designated to go out in to the wilderness on the Day of Atonement to bear the blame for others. While in the wild the goat would eventually be killed which would make the village people feel that they had been cleaned of all sins. What are the different emotional and intellectual responses to death and how significant do you think they are? Ernest Becker was a cultural anthropologist who believed that the characters of individuals in society are shaped by a process of death denial and death anxiety. Due to the contradiction of humans being an emergent life that does not seem to have any more meaning than a non emergent life (CITE birth and death). Theme Of Motif In The Kite Runner A widespread mythological and literary motif is the one of two brothers, who hate or are in conflict with each other and which sometimes even ends in the murder of one of those brothers. This is the definition found in a German encyclopaedia. Some famous examples one can find in mythology are: Osiris and Seth (Egyptian Mythology) Kabil and Habil (Koran) Cain and Abel (Bible) Romulus and Remus (Roman Mythology) Polyneikes and Eteokles (Greek Mythology) And many more So as one can see many people, cultures and religions do use this motif. One can ask now, aren t brothers supposed to be very close and are they not often also used as a symbol for humanity and compassion? Yes, this is actually the case and it is normally not that the brothers had hated each other since birth but the conflict normally start with a rivalry between the brothers. This rivalry can come from the human rivalry about the love of a god, as in Cain and Abel , or the fight about the rule of a city, as in Polyneikes and Eteokles , or simply the rivalry about the love of a father as in The Kite Runner.
