Quotes From A Midsummer Night s Dream
The course of true love never did run smooth. (Shakespeare 15) Act 1 Scene 1
This quote in A midsummer night s dream means that love isn t always easy. Its saying the love doesn
t come on a silver platter and that there are always problems in a relationship. This quote is said by
Lysander to Hermia, trying to comfort her. This quote is very important because it is shown
throughout the rest of the play. Shakespeare shows this quote throughout the relationships that develop
between Lysander and Hermia also with Demetrius and Helena. Other Couples in the play experience
some sort of problem with their love. Titania and Oberon for example, love each other but are not
faithful to one another. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Anyone can have affection towards anyone at any time. Love is unexpected. This quote is important
because it illustrates the theme of love. This quote is later presented in the woods by having Lysander
and Demetrius switch their passion from Hermia to Helena. It gives us an understanding of how
Lysanders love for Hermia ends quickly with a drop of magic love juice. Shakespeare is showing us
how easily people can change their minds about love.
Methinks, mistress, you should have little reason for that, and yet to say the truth, reason and love
keep little company nowadays (Shakespeare 73) Act 3 Scene 1
This quote in A mid summer nights dream means that sometimes love occurs without reason. People
don t use common sense when it come to love because their emotions take over. Lovers act on
emotion rather than reason. This quote is important because it helps us understand the storyline. For
example, when Titania is declaring her love for bottom it is not inspired by reason. Their love is
irrational, because of the magic love juice Titania isn t thinking logically and responding fully with her

Mckinsey And Its Secret Influence On American Business Essay
McKinsey consultants suggest that firms need to change with changing industry conditions and that
often firms needs to choose between protecting what they have built versus letting them go to make
room to focus on new business opportunities (McDonald, Duff (September 10, 2013). The Firm: The
Story of McKinsey and its Secret Influence on American Business. Simon Schuster). McKinsey s
further supports this position with their three horizons model that replaces core businesses in decline
with new growth options (McGrath; Ian MacMillan (March 16, 2009). Discovery Driven Growth: A
Breakthrough Process to Reduce Risk and Seize Opportunity. Harvard Business Review Press. p.
198). At the product level, we see products transitioning through different stages of their lifecycle.
Products move from introduction to growth and maturity stages, eventually passing into
commoditization and ultimately falling into decline. Each stage of the product life cycle requires
differing strategies to achieve successful product commercialization. Rangan and Bowman make a
distinction in that although products are called commodities, it is the relationship between the product
and the market that should be characterized as commoditization. Changing market dynamics signal a
shift towards commoditization. Customer reluctance to pay for product or service, pressure on price,
low customer loyalty, buyer s perception of little differentiation amongst suppliers, price as the only
selection criteria, are some

Murrow In Good Night And Good Luck
Firstly, Good Night and Good luck has filtered list of the characters. The movie, which is directed by
George Clooney, features Edward Murrow as the lead character. Some with fictional names appear to
be supportive to the plot. But the movie doesn t feature all characters that are being mentioned in the
memoir of Murrow written by Bob Edwards. The movie displays the impact of the case to the
company economically at the end of the movie. For instance, when the movie reaches the epilogue, we
see Joseph and Shirley Wershba being called as one of them is going to be laid off. Furthermore,
Alcoa, the sponsor for See It Now, the show in which Murrow hosted, was cancelled in 1955.
Whereas, according to the Edwards book, See It Now was cancelled in July 1958. ... Show more

From that point, it is also arguable that the movie is concentrating on antagonizing Mccarthy in his
entirety, who oppressed Murrow s broadcast statements. Certainly, the movie has been strictly
modified and it features the things they want to show the audience, without running away from the
core facts. The important points that the movie accurately features are Edward Murrow, his reporting
career in CBS, and his communist oriented controversy with Joseph Mccarthy. However, even though
McCarthy s case was considered very sensational, Murrow s memoir written by Bob Edwards did not
only cover McCarthy most times, but also includes Hitler and Munich crisis in big chunks in the book.
Hence, i argue that the movie only focuses on one side of the story, the one that definitely had direct
issue with Murrow for his activist trait and verbal

The Cloud Of Public Cloud
Introduction: In today s technical world we are experiencing the advancement of moving or storing
larger data from one place to another. 20 years ago it would be impossible to access any data from any
part of the world today it is possible because of one new peace of technology and that is the cloud.
The cloud is term that explains a type of technology that can be used anywhere. Just like the actual
cloud we see in the sky is everywhere though out the planet so is the technical term cloud. There are
four main types of cloud which consists of private, public, community and hybrid. Each one of these
have their own pro s and con s that help an organization in one way or another. Public Cloud: The
public cloud is what the name says about it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Private cloud: Private cloud is similar to public the difference is it used for mom and pop shops.
Meaning that small business uses this type of cloud because it is not designed to hold large amounts of
data. A private cloud still needs people to give it the maintenance it needs such as making sure it is up
to date everything is up to date and so on: A private cloud is a particular model of cloud computing
that involves a distinct and secure cloud based environment in which only the specified client can
operate. As with other cloud models, private clouds will provide computing power as a service within
a virtualized environment using an underlying pool of physical computing resource. However, under
the private cloud model, the cloud (the pool of resource) is only accessible by a single organization
providing that organization with greater control and privacy ( What is a private cloud , 2015). This is
explaining that organizations that have small security issues or are unpredictable meaning that they
may go out of business are the common types of organizations that use this business because it is hard
to tell if it is worth the investment in the long run to keep investing money in a peace of technology
that a company cannot afford to keep. Community: The community cloud is a very unique type of
cloud computing and the reason being it is because it allows companies to get together and use one
cloud. In the tech word it is unusual that companies are

What Three Statements From The
I. What three statements from Lk 1:1 4 apply to Acts as well and help to explain what Acts contains?
A. Luke informs the reader of three things. First, reliable traditions about Jesus and the early Christian
movement have been handed down by eyewitnesses.
B. Second, Luke has made careful investigation of these experiences and reports.
C. Third, he dedicates his work to the reader s knowledge and growth in the Christian faith. These
three statements apply not only to Luke but to Acts as well. They help account for the plausibility,
careful reporting, and theological sensitivity of the book.
II. Briefly discuss Acts historical and theological significance.
A. Acts is distinguished on two counts: its historical vale and its theological insight. Historically, Acts
mentions over thirty countries, more than fifty towns or cities, numerous islands, and nearly one
hundred persons, about sixty of whom are not mentioned elsewhere in the New Testament.
B. Luke wrote with historical interest, but his topics were of theological importance. They include:
world mission, the providence of God, the Power of the Spirit, restored Israel, inclusive gospel, the
Gospel s Triumph.
C. Theologically, Luke does not set out to write a systematic account of early church teaching. Yet, in
powerful fashion he narrates the development, discussion, and at the time dissension surrounding the
spread of early preaching about Jesus Christ.
D. Particularly in Acts speeches and sermons, to the audience of

The Backlash Against Serial And Why It s Wrong
In his passionately written article The Backlash Against Serial and Why It s Wrong, author Conor
Friedersdorf comes to the podcast s defense following the harsh criticisms that have been thrown at
Serial since its debut. Serial is a spinoff series from parent podcast This American Life, which details
the investigation of a brutal 1999 murder involving high school seniors of the Baltimore area.
Friedersdorf s piece not only comes to defend Serial s honor, but it also fights back and grapples with
the disparaging comments thrown at the podcast. In particular, the accused transgressions from fellow
writers Jay Caspian Kang in his own work Serial and White Reporter Privilege and Jeff Yang s post
from online news outlet Quartz. In my judgement, Friedersdorf does an excellent job refuting Kang s
and Yang s opposing views and persuading his audience that Serial is innocent of the accused
wrongdoings because of his straightforward approach, his many examples to support his claims, and
his thorough knowledge of the material. What are these wrongdoings you ask? Kang claims that Serial
is not so much about the cold case it is investigating, but more so the producer and narrator, Sarah
Koenig s, fixation on the case. He also believes that while Koenig may be well intentioned, she is
interpreting and making assumptions on facts of the lives of people within minority communities
involved with the case. Another writer, Yang asserts that This American Life s method of narrative

Minimum Wage Persuasive Essay
Randy Oczkowski Mrs. Kenny March 25, 2013 Persuasive Essay $7.25 equals two gallons of gas, one
fast food meal, or a simple school supply. With the minimum wage at the current rate you must work
one hour to earn the seven dollars and twenty five cents that only supply you with small necessities for
everyday living. This problem was encountered before and was resolved with the agreement to higher
the minimum wage from $5.85 to the current $7.25. Although that was a big increase in salaries, was
it truly enough? This controversy can lead to a major change in everyone s everyday lives and boost
our economy to a period of prosperity. The minimum wage should be increased to bring our economy
out of a recession, bring families together, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With a higher rate, students can save more money helping with later on expenses. These students will
be able to look into their future but, this time, with less debt due to student loans. Increasing the
minimum wage will take off a burden for student loans, country wide. Branching off of financial aid
for education, think of all the other financial benefits that the government offers. Such as social
security, food stamps, and healthcare. With the prosperity of our economy, these things will be less of
a burden on our government and everyday tax payers. This increase in minimum wage will help
everyone overall. Health care will become cheaper due to the fact that companies are paying their
employees a fixed rate that they can live comfortably with. As the rate increases we will see the use of
food stamps dwindle. There will be no need for these food stamps when families can afford their
groceries and necessities with their own cash, due to a higher minimum wage. Social Security will
gain more money from the employee s checks, helping later generations. This higher income will give
the elderly more support with their social security income. When the minimum wage is higher, our
daily and life lasting necessities will be benefited greatly. Our economy is a major reason whether you
pursue a future of prosperity or poverty. The economy today is slowly crawling back to prosperity.

Analyzing Alienated Labor in Regards to Democracy
The strive to maximize profits causes firms to mass produce commodity goods, which forces workers
to dedicate a large portion of their time to their labor. The efficiency of mass production is certainly
questionable, as economists like Keynes predicted that, given the massive technological leaps that
nations such as the United States and Great Britain were already making, the average work week
would be reduced to between fifteen and twenty hours a week by the twenty first century (Graeber,
Bullshit Jobs ). While it appears that the technological advancements Keynes expected came to
fruition, the average work week currently sits around

It is not a large stretch to assume that most of the sweatshop workers employed by Nike have never
worn any of the items that they had a part in producing, which serves to create an effect of resentment,
as those workers view Nike products as a reminder of their servitude and likely nothing more.
Like the product of one s labor, the process of labor itself can also be a source of estrangement for
workers in a capitalistic society. When workers have no influence on the circumstances surrounding
their production, they can be treated as commodities. Those that are working in sweatshops are often
doing so out of necessity, which gives firms control over laborers as they dominate the means of
production and therefore have more leeway in regards to practices such as forcing workers to endure
improper conditions or providing low wages. Firms like Nike can easily establish monopolies in the
market for cheap labor in developing nations like Indonesia, eliminating the competition for wages
along with any possibility of class ascendance. The result of this is the existence of laborers who are
completely disconnected from the undertaking of their work, as it only serves as both a means of
subsidence and a reminder of one s reliance on the bourgeoisie. Naturally, the laborer will feel that the

Life Revealed In Teenage Wasteland By Anne Tyler
Modern day parenting is far from easy, today s parents face many obstacles and sometimes can be way
too hard on the child. Parents work to protect the children and help them succeed in life whether that
is at work or at school. The endless worrisome thoughts about one s child can cause the parents to
crack down on the child which ultimately pushes them away. Teenagers are known to be distant and
stuck in a different world most of the time due to hormone changes, and outside influences such as
friends. Parents struggle to hold a relationship with teenage children because the teen tends to want to
be alone more and sees the parent as over protective . In the short story, Teenage wasteland , the

Why Did Sitting Bull Play In The Battle Of Little Bighorn
5. What hard dilemma did President Grant face after the discovery of gold in the Black Hills? Why did
this conflict between minors and Indians result in the Great Sioux War of 1876? What role did Sitting
Bull play in the Battle of Little Bighorn?
4. Why did Sitting Bull oppose the building of the Northern Pacific Railroad? What act of Bravery did
he perform at the Battle of Arrow Creek that added to his reputation as legendary leader of his people?
In 1874 gold was discovered in the Black Hills. President Grant was forced to make a harsh decision
because the Black Hills were located in the Great Sioux Reservation that the Indians had gained under
the Treaty of 1868. President Grant allowed miners to enter the Black Hills and insisted that this act
would be legalized. Government attempted to acquire the Black Hills where the gold was located
however Sitting Bull was against the sale of the land. The Great War of Sioux 1876 resulted from a
disagreement between miners and Indians. Miners had already began to come to the Black Hills to
mine for goal and the government allowed these things to happen. Because Sitting Bull and his army
men were not sure of what would happened when the white men entered they were forced to attack in
fear. They had not interfered with the gold rush, and although they had not signed the Treaty of 1868,
in sanctioned their residence in the unceded territory. (Utley pg34). Sitting Bull gave orders to his

Comparing the Feminine Quest in Surfacing and Song of...
The Feminine Quest in Surfacing and Song of Solomon
Margaret Atwood in her novel Surfacing and Toni Morrison in her novel Song of Solomon require
their heroines to pass through a stage of self interpretation as a prerequisite for re inventing the self.
This stage in the feminine journey manifests a critical act typically absent in the traditional male
journey, and one that places Atwood and Morrison s heroines at odds with the patriarchal community.
If authors of feminine journeys meet the requirements set out by feminist critics like Dana Heller, then
we must also provide a method for interpreting the texts that will be palatable for critics from the
patriarchy. Otherwise we perpetuate an hostility between the camps that ... Show more content on

But as conditions in real life changed, the structure and impact of the old stories failed to keep pace,
and we found ourselves with a confusing mismatch of perceived roles and desired roles.
The revised male journey became flight from women and from the influence of others according to
Heller thus creating the literary label of anti hero (24). He still journeyed, but he kept the boon to
himself (it was a lesser one anyway). If for some reason he does pass back through his sponsoring
community, he is not received as a prince returning home..
The revised female journey became more fully hers, but like the male anti hero, the Jane Eyres and
Emma Bovarys become social outcasts and outlaws for refusing to remain in their duly assigned roles.
For a satisfactory conclusion to these stories, the audience required death or marriage still generally
portrayed as a final submission to patriarchal authority.
Dana Heller tells us now that Women s quests must propose strategies for escaping debilitating
structures, for discovering authentic selfhood, and for claiming the right to take her journey out into
the world (13). Heller expresses here an imperative to current and future writers of the feminine
journey to generate stories that accord the heroine

Psychological Theories On Dreaming
Theories on dreaming
While researching my topic on dreaming i found out that there isn t a true answer on why we dream.
No one has really understood why we dream and the meaning, reasoning behind it. What i did find out
is that there are a lot of theories on why we dream. My research paper is going to explain 3 main
theories on dreaming and my conclusion will be my own theory on dreaming with the research that i
have gathered throughout this project. I want to help people understand that dreaming is deeper than
just a scientific answer and they have a real meaning and guidance. Sigmund Freud s theory of dreams
suggested that dreams represented unconscious desires, thoughts, and motivations. According to Freud
s psychoanalytic view of personality, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also i learned that working memory is the part of our memory system allows us to keep information
in consciousness either because you are learning something for the first time or trying to recall
something you learned in the past. With all the information so far that i have gained from these
theories ad from my expert i came up with my own theory. I believe that our dreams are something
very personal. Eventho we have very similar dreams they mean different things. Personally i have had
dreams and have actually learned from them in the past, or they give me a sign. For an example a
dream of a plane crash would more likely to affect travel plans than either thinking about a crash, and
the dream of a plane crash produced a similar level of anxiety as did an actual crash. Or for an
example of how a dream has taught me something would be this dream I frequently dream of my
Nana who passed away a few years ago. In one of these , we are at our old house where we are talking
and suddenly that part of my brain which knows that she is no more here try s to tell me the same. I
wait for her to disappear or something but she doesn t. She is still there with me.When you know
something is supposed to happen and it will soon;then maybe you should spend the present in
enjoying the now as it is; instead of waiting for that something to happen. Once the time passes , you
won t be able to get back to that time. Spending every moment happily is better than waiting for the
happy moments to come. This is how dreams teach you lesson and also can give you signs. Dreaming
can help understand a past experience better and it can resolve problems. Dreams are whatever YOU
personally make them out to be but they do have meaning. Our brains are very powerful,

The Book Of Acts By The Bible
The Book of Acts is a book about the beginning of the first Christians and the growth of the Church.
Acts explains how Christianity began and also spread about. It explains how Jesus used some of the
apostles to teach through the Holy Spirit after ascending into Heaven. The writer of the Book of Acts
is the apostle Luke, who gives us insight into the different things the disciples, mainly Peter and Paul,
had went through during this time. Luke describes these instances but rarely indicates how Christians
today should respond. What would Christianity look like today if only the Book of Acts was written in
the New Testament?
The Early Church started with Peter, who told the people to repent and be baptized, only then would
they receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. After 3,000 were baptized, the very first Church was started.
The early Church had a focus on the Bible and it s teachings, the stories the apostles shared, breaking
the bread, meal sharing, prayer, and fellowship. Today, Christians might only continue to share stories
that the apostles shared, be baptized, pray, and get to know members of their Church if this was the
only book written in the New Testament. Peter gives Jesus to people in need in the Book of Acts, and
this is a difference in what we don t see sometimes practiced in Churches today. Christians learning to
ask Jesus into their heart was a major milestone in the early Church. The Book of Acts, as discussed
by Michael Morrison, the author of

A1. Reconnaissance
The Initial phase in cyberattack is reconnaissance. In reconnaissance phase, attackers gather
information about target s vulnerabilities which can be exploited further.
Reconnaissance are of two types:
1. Active Reconnaissance
Active reconnaissance is the information collection process in which attacker gains access to the target
system and performs port scans or check ways to go around the firewalls and routers. Since in an
active reconnaissance attacker must enter or probe the target s network, there is a possibility that target
might get information about attacker like attacker s IP address. (Mike Chapple, 2014)
2. Passive Reconnaissance
Passive reconnaissance is the process of information collection in which attacker is in passive mode
and target will not know about attacker. It generally involves research about target by using open
source information gathering tools like Google. (Czumak,2014)
In Western power grid attack, APT was well organized. They used both active and passive
reconnaissance methods to gather information. We have found the traces of attackers IP in the network
logs provided by Intelligence services. This tells us that attackers had used Active Reconnaissance to

Talking to the Enemy
Psych 253 Book Review: Talking to the Enemy
Richard Marion
In his book Talking to the Enemy (2010), Scott Atran uses his experiences in the countries often
perceived as the origin of most global terrorist actions against the United States combined with
scientific proof from a wide variety of sources to argue for new methods of understanding and
stopping terrorism as it exists today. Though many examples and analyses of terrorist acts are
examined in the book along with many different explanations for the social and psychological
mechanisms that may cause them, one of the central ideas is the power of social bonds to drive people
to commit actions that they never would have considered alone. This paper will analyze Atran s

say whether the students relative willingness to kill non Muslims is resultant from their perception
of non Muslims as less like them or if it has been drawn directly from the teachings they have
received. It should be noted that another finding of social psychology is that attitudes and behaviour
are generally not strongly correlated (Eibach, 2012) and that when taken alone the interviews do not
show a direct correlation with violent actions. However, other references that are made both in the
book and within Atran s research does lead to a more conclusive link. Ultimately despite the weakness
of its small sample size and the fact that it only shows an explicit attitude rather than behaviours that
might be resultant from that attitude, the research is persuasive in that it shows a clear link between

The Cupcake Craft
As we started to approach the tall brick building filled with various activities, we could see the endless
crowds of people gathering around the front doors. Starting to get upon the tip of my toes, I was
startled by my mother who leaped in front of the four of my cousins and I.
Smile, darlings! my mother ordered. She reached for the camera around her neck as we groaned and
wrapped our arms around each other. She snapped the photo with a click of her finger. Perfect!
Opening the doors to the craft room, the smell of fresh paint instantly filled our nostrils. Every year
before Summer came to an end, my mother would take my cousins and I to a museum called Grounds

I was jumping with joy
I spotted this luscious bright purple and squeezed it, popping the cap off and hitting my other younger
cousin, Joe directly in the face. I couldn t hold it in and started to laugh hysterically.
Hey! Joe blurted. He turned around with a green squirt bottle in his hands. Take this!
I felt a hard bump on my chest as if someone had just punched me. I looked down to see green paint
splattered all over my shirt. I tilted my head up to see my mom with a look of horror on her face as if
she had just witnessed a murder. All of us had our jaws dropped wide open, except for Joe, he looked
like any second now he would start exploding with laughter.
What has gotten into you two? my mother questioned with frustration.
She brought me into the bathroom and started digging through her purse. She pulled out an extra T
shirt that was plain black.
How did you
My mother cut me off before I could finish. I know you guys too well to not be prepared for this.
I put on the new shirt that my mother had packed and we walked back to our craft table. I noticed that
Amy was using the purple I wanted and that it was close to being empty. Hey! Don t use it all! Kind of
too late, don t you think? Amy replied with a tone of sass. Before I was about to say anything, the lady

single clock cycle, the ATmega328 achieves throughputs close to 1MIPS per MHz. This empowers
system designer to optimize the device for power consumption versus processing speed. The ATMEL
AVR core combines a rich instruction set with 32 general purpose working registers. All the32
registers are directly connected to the Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU), allowing two independent
registers to be accessed in a single instruction executed in one clock cycle. The resulting architecture
is more code efficient while achieving throughputs up to ten times faster than conventional CISC
microcontrollers. The ATmega328/P provides the following features: 32Kbytes of In System
Programmable Flash with Read While Write capabilities, 1Kbytes EEPROM, 2Kbytes SRAM, 23

Fishing Persuasive Essay
It twas a warm July morning and the best friends George and Jeff were out on the water. The two boys
loved fishing and they would always try to go. When they would comeback they would always have
new stories and forever memories from their previous adventure. The boys would do whatever it took
to get to a fishing spot. The boys have stories from when they had to swim upstream to a spot, or have
to tightrope walk a dam, once they even kayak down river for 3 days just to get to a fishing hole.
One day the two boys were in church, when George looked over at Jeff whose face could show that he
had an idea. A couple minutes later George looked over again and made eye contact with Jeff, Jeff
lipped out the words We need to talk. After the church bells signaled the end of the service George
hustled to the meeting spot under the berry tree where him and Jeff always met. Georged asked What
you wanna talk about? Jeff told him about his plan to canoe the Llano river from Llano Texas to Lake
LBJ. It was music to George s ears.
Jeff went home after church to think about their trip. He thought about all the good times they had and
all the fish they caught on the Llano. He dreamed about their trip and was counting down the days
until his trip. At night he would dream about pulling in a monster, or he would have nightmares of his
line snapping.
The day came when after church Jeffs mom, Ms.Julie asked if George s mom is George could go to

The Myth Of The Divine Comedy
The traditional myths stories of legends, undying divine beings, and horrific creatures have been the
wellsprings of numerous books, films, plays, and art. Today hordes of books, both scholarly and
standard, examine the myths their histories, conceivable sources, and impacts on a portion of the best
writers ever, including Dante Alighieri. This writer composed one of the best works ever. Each part of
The Divine Comedy has been dissected, from the reasons, to the plots, to the statement decisions, to
the philosophical and religious implications. His utilization of established mythology has been
inventoried and talked about, but most researchers have disregarded the suggestions coming about
because of the stimulating irony of the way that this sincere religious man utilized agnostic myths
pervasively all through his clearly Christian works. Despite the fact that established mythology in
Christian works has been talked about and broke down by numerous researchers, the oddity between
the agnostic and the Christian has not been sufficiently investigated. Most usually, investigation of the
myths inside The Divine Comedy either concentrates on the imaginative qualities the myths add to the
lyrics, homes in on the ramifications of maybe a couple particular myths, or talks about the impacts of
the established artists themselves. However to completely esteem and perceive what Dante did in his
lyric, we should not just comprehend the social responses to the myths and the individuals

The term ambition is almost always considered as a negative characteristic. Being ambitious seems to
be linked to greed and a more similar meaning to being a non conformist is left aside, something that

restricted to the desire to accumulate wealth or power, it can be found in the desire to be better every
day, to seek new challenges and fight for them, without having to trample others or not have scruples
to reach your goals. Can an entrepreneur not be ambitious? Based on the fact that conformism can be a

Negligence Essay
Negligence is used in tort in order to provide a remedy for those who have suffered any loss or injury,
due to a defendant s actions. If a defendant had a duty of care towards the claimant, then a remedy can
be enforced to cover for any losses. Factual causation in negligence establishes whether it was the
defendant in fact who caused the harm, in order to determine the factual causation, the but for test is
used. The but for test includes asking the question of but for the defendant s carelessness, would the
claimant have escaped harm? The factual causation would be determined if the answer is yes , as harm
would have not occurred if the defendant did not breach the duty of care. If the answer is no then the
defendant would not be held liable. The but for test states that X is the cause of Y if Y would not have
occurred in the absence of X . An advantage of the but for test is that it allows the defendant to take
full liability, if their actions were the cause of harm to the claimant. Once an answer is obtained

However, the boy was correctly diagnosed a few days later but paralysis still occurred. The but for test

The Dangers of Marijuana Essay
Marijuana, Cannabis Sativa, has been used for centuries for its medicinal and euphorant properties,
and its fibers, to make hemp cloth and paper. Medicinally, between 1850 and 1942, it was prescribed
in the United States Pharmacopeia as a remedy for a variety of ailments including gout, tetanus,
depression, and cramps (Farthing 1992). Today, it is used for reducing intraocular pressure due to
glaucoma, as an antiemetic to relieve nausea associated with chemotherapy, and as an appetite
stimulant for AIDS patients. Recreationally, it is the most widely used illicit drug, especially among
adolescents.
The main psychoactive component of marijuana is (9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Other prominent
cannabinoids include cannabidiol, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this paper, my objective is to determine potential chronic effects of marijuana on memory. I do this
by selectively reviewing studies on this topic and attempt to integrate the findings, which range from
neurobiological standpoints to more general effects on cognitive behavior.
In earlier attempts of finding the cannabinoid receptor, using THC as the ligand proved difficult
because of its lipid solubility which cause non specific, high affinity binding. In Herkenham et al.
(1990), they localize cannabinoid receptors (CB1) throughout the brain by using synthesized,
radiolabeled CP 55,940, structurally similar to THC, but less hydrophobic and more potent as a
cannabinoid receptor ligand. They find high density binding in the cerebellum and basal ganglia
(which regulates time perception and coordinated movement), the cerebral cortex (perception and
reasoning) and the hippocampus, which is associated with memory. This correlates with marijuana s
distortion of these cognitive functions, including memory. The hippocampus, located in the inferior
medial temporal lobe, has been shown to be involved with memory through studies with brain
damaged patients such as HM, who, in the extreme case, resulted in having anterograde amnesia
(inability to form new long term memories) due to the removal of the bilateral hippocampus

Peripeteia means a turning point or a reversal moment, while anagnorisis means a point where a
person becomes aware of his or her true nature. Tom is in turning point of his life because turning a
waste into something else is not what majority people would think of, most of us will be disgusted by

The Budget Making Of The Cbo
If the CBO really matters, it is due to the fact that honest numbers matter. If its numbers are credible,
that is because a culture has developed where honesty is valued and where it does actually make a
difference. The CBO was created out of controversy between the executive and legislative branches.
There was a lack of fiscal responsibility on the side of congress. Budget making by a committee was
then a way to confront resource scarcity face on. This was a way for the congress to also check the
executive branch in the budget making process. On February 25, 1975, Alice Rivlin was sworn in as
director of CBO. This was the official beginning of the CBO. She was basically a staff of one. The

One thing all economists do agree on is that income and revenues to spend on resources are scarce.
Using particular economic resources for one purpose makes it so that they are not available for
another. This may seem like a logical standpoint, but it is one aspect of having scarce resources
effecting public policy. Businesses and individuals alike understand the danger o scarce resources and
revenues. In terms of individuals, the choice is between consumption and investment whereas for a
business it is between capital gains and labor. The public sector has to, for instance, choose between
what is done with taxes and spending. Some revenues will need to be raised in order to finance the
government, but the real question comes from where those funds come from. The way the government
or public sector deals with this is through the type of decision making that takes place though
budgetary processes conducted by the CBO. There is a lot more to all of this than just politics. There
is a difference between making trade offs for uses of funds than for those policies to change decisions.
For instance, the government could say that it has two goals in terms of policy. They two policies are
providing health care for everyone and providing enough defense capacity to be able to fight two wars
at the same time. The real costs of these endeavors have to come into perspective. The classic way of
looking at this dilemma is the guns versus butter model.

It executes Bataille s need to express through his writings what could not be contained by the cultural
system within which he lived and worked, and it expresses his need to recognize the existence of what
the system cannot contain the vision of that other eye out of which he looks at the world. Thus rather
than dismiss this text as juvenile or adolescent writing, readers should be aware of it as an early
declaration of identity formation, one affected by actual events in his life and, although
overwhelmingly privileging his sexual obsessions, one which contains nevertheless the core of his
thinking.
In Bataille s profession of librarianship, cataloging or classification of material becomes obsessive to
the extent that every item within a collection must have a named place or it cannot have a place in the
collection, for only by being inserted into a named placed within a system can an object be curated or

How Does Shakespeare Use Gender In Hamlet

Dramatic lit.

Gender
Many theatre students will tell you about Shakespeare, who he is, what plays he has written. But what
if a theatre student came up to you and the first thing he said was that Shakespeare was all about
gender and sexuality. Many people in the theater community may have to agree. If you don t agree
your mind may be changed by the end of this paper. In the plays The Winter s Tale and Hamlet, you
will find that Shakespeare brings out the theme of gender and sexuality.
In the work of Hamlet you will find that gender uncertainty was there through the use of incest. One
instance of this this that Claudius and Gertrude are married. This is incest in the substantiality that
they were brother in law and sister in law. Another instance of this is that many time Ophelia and
Laertes call each other sexual names. Many people would find this wrong because they are brother
and sister. Although the biggest sexual wrong is that of Hamlet and Gertrude. Hamlet hates one gender

The Four Gospels In The Bible
The four gospels in the Bible are the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. The book that I have
chosen to focus on is the book of Luke. Referencing my reading review from earlier in this week, my
favorite Biblical story is, of course, the Christmas story. In my opinion, the book of Luke tells this
story in the most beautiful way, and has therefore long been my favorite of the four gospels. In order,
Luke is the third book, but the second longest of the four canonical gospels (Wikipedia.org).
The authorship of the book of Luke is widely accepted to have been written by Luke. Luke was an
associate of Paul, so it has been compared to the many works of Paul, and the book of Luke is held
mostly in conjunction with the book of Acts. The two volume work is referred to as Luke Acts and
together they account for 27.5% of the New Testament. This is the largest contribution to the Bible by

Ideologies reflective of their societies were depicted through sculptures, frescoes, pottery, paintings,

Mckinsey And Its Secret Influence On American Business Essay McKinsey consultants suggest that firms need to change with changing industry conditions and that often firms needs to choose between protecting what they have built versus letting them go to make room to focus on new business opportunities (McDonald, Duff (September 10, 2013). The Firm: The Story of McKinsey and its Secret Influence on American Business. Simon Schuster). McKinsey s further supports this position with their three horizons model that replaces core businesses in decline with new growth options (McGrath; Ian MacMillan (March 16, 2009). Discovery Driven Growth: A Breakthrough Process to Reduce Risk and Seize Opportunity. Harvard Business Review Press. p. 198). At the product level, we see products transitioning through different stages of their lifecycle. Products move from introduction to growth and maturity stages, eventually passing into commoditization and ultimately falling into decline. Each stage of the product life cycle requires differing strategies to achieve successful product commercialization. Rangan and Bowman make a distinction in that although products are called commodities, it is the relationship between the product and the market that should be characterized as commoditization. Changing market dynamics signal a shift towards commoditization. Customer reluctance to pay for product or service, pressure on price, low customer loyalty, buyer s perception of little differentiation amongst suppliers, price as the only selection criteria, are some ... The important points that the movie accurately features are Edward Murrow, his reporting career in CBS, and his communist oriented controversy with Joseph Mccarthy. However, even though McCarthy s case was considered very sensational, Murrow s memoir written by Bob Edwards did not only cover McCarthy most times, but also includes Hitler and Munich crisis in big chunks in the book. First, reliable traditions about Jesus and the early Christian movement have been handed down by eyewitnesses. B. Second, Luke has made careful investigation of these experiences and reports. C. Third, he dedicates his work to the reader s knowledge and growth in the Christian faith. These three statements apply not only to Luke but to Acts as well. They help account for the plausibility, careful reporting, and theological sensitivity of the book. II. Briefly discuss Acts historical and theological significance. A. Acts is distinguished on two counts: its historical vale and its theological insight. Historically, Acts mentions over thirty countries, more than fifty towns or cities, numerous islands, and nearly one hundred persons, about sixty of whom are not mentioned elsewhere in the New Testament. B. Luke wrote with historical interest, but his topics were of theological importance. They include: world mission, the providence of God, the Power of the Spirit, restored Israel, inclusive gospel, the Gospel s Triumph. C. Theologically, Luke does not set out to write a systematic account of early church teaching. Yet, in powerful fashion he narrates the development, discussion, and at the time dissension surrounding the spread of early preaching about Jesus Christ. D. The Backlash Against Serial And Why It s Wrong In his passionately written article The Backlash Against Serial and Why It s Wrong, author Conor Friedersdorf comes to the podcast s defense following the harsh criticisms that have been thrown at Serial since its debut. Serial is a spinoff series from parent podcast This American Life, which details the investigation of a brutal 1999 murder involving high school seniors of the Baltimore area. Friedersdorf s piece not only comes to defend Serial s honor, but it also fights back and grapples with the disparaging comments thrown at the podcast. In particular, the accused transgressions from fellow writers Jay Caspian Kang in his own work Serial and White Reporter Privilege and Jeff Yang s post from online news outlet Quartz. In my judgement, Friedersdorf does an excellent job refuting Kang s and Yang s opposing views and persuading his audience that Serial is innocent of the accused wrongdoings because of his straightforward approach, his many examples to support his claims, and his thorough knowledge of the material. What are these wrongdoings you ask? Kang claims that Serial is not so much about the cold case it is investigating, but more so the producer and narrator, Sarah Koenig s, fixation on the case. He also believes that while Koenig may be well intentioned, she is interpreting and making assumptions on facts of the lives of people within minority communities involved with the case. • 18. The Book Of Acts By The Bible The Book of Acts is a book about the beginning of the first Christians and the growth of the Church. Acts explains how Christianity began and also spread about. It explains how Jesus used some of the apostles to teach through the Holy Spirit after ascending into Heaven. The writer of the Book of Acts is the apostle Luke, who gives us insight into the different things the disciples, mainly Peter and Paul, had went through during this time. Luke describes these instances but rarely indicates how Christians today should respond. What would Christianity look like today if only the Book of Acts was written in the New Testament? The Early Church started with Peter, who told the people to repent and be baptized, only then would they receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. After 3,000 were baptized, the very first Church was started. The early Church had a focus on the Bible and it s teachings, the stories the apostles shared, breaking the bread, meal sharing, prayer, and fellowship. Today, Christians might only continue to share stories that the apostles shared, be baptized, pray, and get to know members of their Church if this was the only book written in the New Testament. Peter gives Jesus to people in need in the Book of Acts, and this is a difference in what we don t see sometimes practiced in Churches today. Christians learning to ask Jesus into their heart was a major milestone in the early Church. The Book of Acts, as discussed by Michael Morrison, the author of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, other references that are made both in the book and within Atran s research does lead to a more conclusive link. One day the two boys were in church, when George looked over at Jeff whose face could show that he had an idea. A couple minutes later George looked over again and made eye contact with Jeff, Jeff lipped out the words We need to talk. After the church bells signaled the end of the service George hustled to the meeting spot under the berry tree where him and Jeff always met. Georged asked What you wanna talk about? Jeff told him about his plan to canoe the Llano river from Llano Texas to Lake LBJ. It was music to George s ears. Jeff went home after church to think about their trip. He thought about all the good times they had and all the fish they caught on the Llano. He dreamed about their trip and was counting down the days until his trip. Today hordes of books, both scholarly and standard, examine the myths their histories, conceivable sources, and impacts on a portion of the best writers ever, including Dante Alighieri. This writer composed one of the best works ever. Each part of The Divine Comedy has been dissected, from the reasons, to the plots, to the statement decisions, to the philosophical and religious implications. His utilization of established mythology has been inventoried and talked about, but most researchers have disregarded the suggestions coming about because of the stimulating irony of the way that this sincere religious man utilized agnostic myths pervasively all through his clearly Christian works. Despite the fact that established mythology in Christian works has been talked about and broke down by numerous researchers, the oddity between the agnostic and the Christian has not been sufficiently investigated. Most usually, investigation of the myths inside The Divine Comedy either concentrates on the imaginative qualities the myths add to the lyrics, homes in on the ramifications of maybe a couple particular myths, or talks about the impacts of the established artists themselves. However to completely esteem and perceive what Dante did in his lyric, we should not just comprehend the social responses to the myths and the individuals ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If a defendant had a duty of care towards the claimant, then a remedy can be enforced to cover for any losses. Factual causation in negligence establishes whether it was the defendant in fact who caused the harm, in order to determine the factual causation, the but for test is used. The but for test includes asking the question of but for the defendant s carelessness, would the claimant have escaped harm? The factual causation would be determined if the answer is yes , as harm would have not occurred if the defendant did not breach the duty of care. If the answer is no then the defendant would not be held liable. The but for test states that X is the cause of Y if Y would not have occurred in the absence of X . An advantage of the but for test is that it allows the defendant to take full liability, if their actions were the cause of harm to the claimant. Once an answer is obtained through ... Medicinally, between 1850 and 1942, it was prescribed in the United States Pharmacopeia as a remedy for a variety of ailments including gout, tetanus, depression, and cramps (Farthing 1992). Today, it is used for reducing intraocular pressure due to glaucoma, as an antiemetic to relieve nausea associated with chemotherapy, and as an appetite stimulant for AIDS patients. Recreationally, it is the most widely used illicit drug, especially among adolescents. The main psychoactive component of marijuana is (9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). I do this by selectively reviewing studies on this topic and attempt to integrate the findings, which range from neurobiological standpoints to more general effects on cognitive behavior. In earlier attempts of finding the cannabinoid receptor, using THC as the ligand proved difficult because of its lipid solubility which cause non specific, high affinity binding. In Herkenham et al. (1990), they localize cannabinoid receptors (CB1) throughout the brain by using synthesized, radiolabeled CP 55,940, structurally similar to THC, but less hydrophobic and more potent as a cannabinoid receptor ligand. They find high density binding in the cerebellum and basal ganglia (which regulates time perception and coordinated movement), the cerebral cortex (perception and reasoning) and the hippocampus, which is associated with memory. This correlates with marijuana s distortion of these cognitive functions, including memory. The hippocampus, located in the inferior medial temporal lobe, has been shown to be involved with memory through studies with brain damaged patients such as HM, who, in the extreme case, resulted in having anterograde amnesia (inability to form new long term memories) due to the removal of the bilateral hippocampus (Gazzaniga et ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One thing all economists do agree on is that income and revenues to spend on resources are scarce. Using particular economic resources for one purpose makes it so that they are not available for another. This may seem like a logical standpoint, but it is one aspect of having scarce resources effecting public policy. Businesses and individuals alike understand the danger o scarce resources and revenues. In terms of individuals, the choice is between consumption and investment whereas for a business it is between capital gains and labor. The public sector has to, for instance, choose between what is done with taxes and spending. Some revenues will need to be raised in order to finance the government, but the real question comes from where those funds come from. The way the government or public sector deals with this is through the type of decision making that takes place though budgetary processes conducted by the CBO. There is a lot more to all of this than just politics. There is a difference between making trade offs for uses of funds than for those policies to change decisions. For instance, the government could say that it has two goals in terms of policy. They two policies are providing health care for everyone and providing enough defense capacity to be able to fight two wars at the same time. The real costs of these endeavors have to come into perspective. The classic way of looking at this dilemma is the guns versus butter model. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It executes Bataille s need to express through his writings what could not be contained by the cultural system within which he lived and worked, and it expresses his need to recognize the existence of what the system cannot contain the vision of that other eye out of which he looks at the world. Thus rather than dismiss this text as juvenile or adolescent writing, readers should be aware of it as an early declaration of identity formation, one affected by actual events in his life and, although overwhelmingly privileging his sexual obsessions, one which contains nevertheless the core of his thinking. In Bataille s profession of librarianship, cataloging or classification of material becomes obsessive to the extent that every item within a collection must have a named place or it cannot have a place in the collection, for only by being inserted into a named placed within a system can an object be curated or cared for. If you don t agree your mind may be changed by the end of this paper. In the plays The Winter s Tale and Hamlet, you will find that Shakespeare brings out the theme of gender and sexuality. In the work of Hamlet you will find that gender uncertainty was there through the use of incest. One instance of this this that Claudius and Gertrude are married. This is incest in the substantiality that they were brother in law and sister in law. Another instance of this is that many time Ophelia and Laertes call each other sexual names. Many of these principals were created, celebrated, and popularized by constituents of societies where andocentric values were applied not only to social and political mores, but also to the various art forms as the male body was cherished and praised and the female body was hidden away from public view.
