read can be a very daunting task for a youngster. Therefore, as a teacher, it is your job to facilitate
positive reading strategies from the start. Looking back at my experiences as an early reader, I can
gain some insight as to what might help or hinder my future students.

I feel learning the phonics of letters through the rhythms of music truly helped me as I began to sit
down with my first readers.
As I began applying what I was learning in the songs to some basic basal readers like Dick and Jane I
was able to find patterns between the phonics in the songs and the words on the page. We had books
that were themed each week with certain phonic sounds. The sound was then repeated throughout the
book but in different words. We were able to take these books home and practice with our parents. I

Abstract:

This paper describes the development and standardization of a measure of perceived attachment
styles. The four attachment styles namely secure, avoidant insecure, ambivalent insecure, and
disorganized insecure attachment proposed by Mary Ainsworth (1970), Main and Soloman 1986
(Disorganized insecure attachment). The items are constructed on socio cultural and educational
circumstances of adolescent students using mix strategy for construction of the scale by selecting the
items from various attachment scales and by writing some original items. Hence the tool will be
largely suitable for measuring the attachment styles among the adolescent students of Uttar Pradesh,
India. The tool has good criterion related validity and split half reliability.

Indigenous peoples have been purposefully silenced at almost every moment of interaction with
Canada.
Many Indigenous peoples have been strategically silenced since birth. Their names were changed for
number tabulations, cultures were suppressed and languages were stolen from Indigenous children and
their future generations. These actions were sanctioned by the Catholic Church, manipulated by
political leaders and, ultimately, enforced by the government of Canada. The consequences of these
actions rippled through the institutions and cultivated into the consciousness of settler and colonial
populations. Indigenous children were subjected to an education which stripped them of their

Allusion can be described as a literary device that indirectly refers to a past literary work, historical
circumstance, or other cultural or geographic reference point...[to] help readers make connections
between concepts in a body of work...authors assume that their readers have enough knowledge of a

A social problem can be defined as some conditions or set of events or group of persons that is
undesirable/unfavourable (that violate certain values or beliefs about how a society should function) to

interconnected parts of a system that work harmoniously to maintain a state of balance as a whole, and
