Vodka Informative Speech
All About Vodka:
Vodka is a master of disguise and that s intentional. There are no universal rules to producing
vodka, but the final product is supposed to be odorless, colorless and tasteless. Distillers like to
leave their mark, though, so they tend to leave in at least some flavor so you know you re drinking
their vodka. That might make it a little less interesting to drink straight (though it can certainly still
be enjoyed this way), but vodka is perfect for mixing.
It s made from fermented grains or potatoes, though you ll also find vodka that comes from sugar
alcohols or various fruits. Some of the best known vodka producers hail from Russia, Belarus,
Lithuania, Latvia and Poland, though it s made all over the world including in ... Show more content

That s why many producers cut it with distilled water. In America, Everclear offers the highest
alcohol by volume at 95 percent, while a few Polish vodkas contain 98 percent alcohol by volume.
Flavored Vodka:
Key to vodka s explosion in America was the introduction of flavored vodka. Well, that and an
enormous marketing push by Smirnoff in the 50s and 60s. Many vodka brands began adding
flavor to the alcohol to make it more appealing, and today you can find almost any infusion you
could dream of.
Try Smirnoff Raspberry, Svedka Mango Pineapple, and CIROC Apple Vodka to dip your proverbial
toes into the flavored vodka waters. Flavors add drinkability when you shoot vodka straight and
can enhance cocktails if you prefer adding mixers to your beverage.
How to Drink It:
Vodka is a blank slate, so use your imagination. Screwdrivers, martinis, bloody marys and
greyhounds are just some of the classic cocktails. There s also the ubiquitous vodka and soda,
which might help you feel more sophisticated. However, if you find yourself in possession of a
particularly nice bottle, feel free to drink it neat, preferably in a cut crystal

Diabetic Care Plan For Diabetes
Diabetic Care Plan African Americans are almost twice as likely to be diagnosed with diabetes as
non Hispanic whites and suffer from the complications of this chronic illness (US Department of
Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health, 2015). Some of the complications includes
vision loss, amputation of a limb, and end stage renal disease. The reason for choosing this illnessis
because a family member was recently diagnosed with diabetes mellitustype two at the age of thirty
two. She is from the African Americandescent and has been living with this chronic illness since
her teenager years. After the family member began to learn about diabetes and the symptoms
associated with this disease, she realized some of the symptoms of diabetes was displayed
during her teenager years. The family member is willing and eager to learn about diabetes
mellitus. She is ready to regain control over her health and find the ways to effectively manage
this chronic illness. As a health care professional empowering and bringing awareness to the
African American culture, can help reduce some of the complications associated with this
chronic illness. Diabetes is one of the Healthy People 2020 topic and their goal is to Reduce the
disease and economic burden of diabetes mellitus (DM) and improve the quality of life for all
persons who have, or are at risk for, DM (United States Department of Health and Human Services
[HHS], Healthy People 2020, 2016). After reviewing this goal,

The Expansion Of Modernity By Ferdinand T Г“Ељ Nnies
Most theorists agree that the expansion of modernity has resulted in the decline in the natural will
based type of community, and has paved the way for less of a need for the Gemeinschaft type of
society and the rise the Gesellschaft association, in which the individuals engage in impersonal and
contractual arrangements, rather than a meaningful, emotionally invested relationship with others.
Modernity is intrinsically disorderly because it encourages individuals to experiment, to hope, to
gamble, and to be ambitious. Its social life lacks the predictability and the certainties that
characterize societies governed by tradition. Individual creativity is exchanged for the security of
calculable social obligations and the sense of belonging that emanate from fixed social bonds
(Savage and Warde, 1993, p.150). Essentially, individuals give up a sense of belonging in order to
experience what that have not, and could not in a traditional community. They give up the security
of being a part of a group in order to gain individual creativity.
THEORIES
Ferdinand Tӧnnies is seen as the theorist with the most direct influence over later sociological
work and communities. He wanted to eliminate the spatial contexts and superiority of neither
village nor city life when analyzing communities, in attempt to identify the main features and
quality of each way of life. He coined the terms Gemeinschaft and Gesellschaft, which would later
be used by one of the founders of modern sociology, Max

Essay On Numerical Modeling Of Urban Flow
It is undisputed that numerical modeling of urban flow provides information on the thermal
comfort, ventilation and air quality in urban environments. However, the complexity of real world
processes limits current numerical models to certain simplifications and assumptions. These
assumptions, and their validity for the accurate representation of urban microclimate, depend on the
textit{parameters} and textit{scale of interest}. In the textit{microscale}, one of the common
simplifications in modeling is regarding the urban morphology: idealized configuration of 2D or 3D
street canyons are often used to represent urban areas in order to remove the uncertainty caused by
complex (and random) geometries. Another common assumption is... Show more content on

Additionally, a realistic distribution of surface heating plays a pivotal role for thermal comfort and
heating/cooling loads in urban areas. On the other hand, in the case of the urban textit{flow field},
the instability level motivates or demotivates the detailed consideration of realistic surface heating,
as observed for the effect of realistic heating on the drag coefficient citep{santiago14}. For
instance, the formation of the secondary vortex in the opposing condition is only seen for the
highly unstable regime; and in the weakly unstable condition, the modification of the primary
vortex due to the horizontal heating is less significant. Nonetheless, the roof heating, and therefore
the advection of the warm air inside the building canyon, should not be neglected as it modifies the
vertical instability inside the building canyon, as well as the pressure gradient in the span wise
direction. On the other hand, substantial modification of flow field is observed for 3D versus 2D
configurations. In the span wise direction, modification of the flow due to the combined effect of
3D configuration and heating distribution is pronounced, where the formation of counter rotating
and asymmetric vortices in and above the canyon are seen. Lastly, when the textit{concentration
field} is analyzed,

Throughout this whole book there s always been a problem with blanche. Stanley and stella
which was her sister took her in. When blanche got to where she needed to be which was with

happen was when stanley was talking to stella about how blanche must be rich, now stella didn t
really mind what blanche had she was just happy for her to be their. Blanche arrived back to the

Essay about Conflict Resolution
Conflict Resolution
Many people enjoy working or participating in a group or team, but when a group of people work
together chances are that conflicts will occur. Hazleton describes conflict as the discrepancy
between what is the perceived reality and what is seen as ideal (2007). We enter into conflicts
reluctantly, cautiously, angrily, nervously, confidently and emerge from them battered, exhausted,
sad, satisfied, triumphant. And still many of us underestimate or overlook the merits of conflict the
opportunity conflict offers every time it occurs (Schilling, nd.). Conflict does not have to lead to a
hostile environment or to broken relationships. Conflict if resolved effectively can lead to a
positive experience for everyone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Keeping all these in mind can lead to the best solution to solve the conflict.
Change and Expectations People do not always adjust well to change. Oftentimes when change
occurs, conflict will arise. The new boss on the job or the new member of the team may be the
change that brings a conflict. Expectations if not set clearly and held to standard can also lead to
conflict among the team. Expectations must be set from the beginning. Expectations must also be
clear and it must be verified that each team member understands the expectations. If a short coming
on the expectations occurs, then action must be taken immediately. If no action is taken this could
be understood as silent approval and team members will believe that the expectation is no longer
important or required. When conflict does occur, the five models set out in The Thomas Kilmann
Conflict Mode Instrument sets the standards for resolving the conflict. Avoidance Avoidance is
defined as an act or practice of avoiding or withdrawing from something (Merriam Webster.com).
Avoidance may not be the answer if the conflict directly affects the team or the team s goal.
Avoidance is usually used when the conflict is irrelevant, relationships are at stake, more important
issues are pressing, when one party is more emotionally involved, or when more information is
needed (Culbertson, 2000). In avoidance the parties involved agree to place

How Did The Mistakes King Louis Xvi Made
Of all of the mistakes king Louis XVI made, whether it be not taxing the rich, his frivolous
spending and just overall weakness, I think the worst mistake he made was trying to flee the
country. With the country already on edge from the revolution and the fact that the people who
hated you the most and you screwed over the most were the ones in charge,it kind of seemed like
a bad time to flee the country. But let s give King Louis XVI the benefit of the doubt, maybe he
was getting overwhelmed with the fact his power was being ripped from his hands. Even though
his power was getting ripped from his hands because of the mistakes he himself made. He did
things like making the voting of the National Assembly unfair to a huge amount of

The Legacy Of The Civil War
Times of war often debut new technology that shapes the future. Seeing as how the Civil War was
known as the first modern war, it is appropriate to say that much new technological advancement
was made. Behind every piece of new technology or idea, there is a person or team that dedicated
their time to the development. When it comes to the Civil Waraeronautics and much other future
advancement, Thaddeus S. C. Lowe is the man behind it. Lowe was an integral part in the success
of the aeronautics division of the war and paved the way for the world s future success in many
other fields.
Thaddeus Lowe s work was greatly under appreciated. He and other aeronauts proved time and
time again just how useful balloons could be, but, the work of Wise, Lowe, Steiner, and other
aeronauts as observers should have stirred up enthusiasm for balloons as military weapons, but
neither the Army nor the American public properly appreciated the potential of aeronautics
(Scamehorn 9). This never stopped Lowe from pursuing his dream. He fought to make ends meet
by taking odd jobs so he could finance his education in physics and other subjects that would
eventually set him up for his success in aeronautics. Through his persistent work, at thirty years of
age, Thaddeus Lowe had organized an aeronautics corps for the Union Army something that only
a handful of people wanted to see happen at the time (Military Intelligence Corps Hall of Fame).
Having gained the support of a few key figures, Lowe

Truly Experience The Pantheon Of Ancient Rome
Truly Experience the Pantheon The Pantheon happens to be the best preserved building from the
times of Ancient Rome. Its large dome is an everlasting testimony to the architectural genius of
the Romans and the building still remains basically in tact and offers a unique opportunity for
many visitors to journey back in time to 2,000 years ago and experience the Roman glory.
Atmosphere and Interior As you make your way towards the bronze doors, and walk under the
rectilinear porch, the height and width of the building will fill your vision completely. You have
plenty of room to move around and how you see in this area. The rotunda happens to be one of
the most remarkable features that the Pantheon has, it was the biggest domed structure until
1912. The interior of the Pantheon is more dramatic and stunning in comparison to its exterior.
When you walk inside, you are bombarded with various colours of light that reflect off of a
variety of surfaces. The alcove that is just opposite the door, is the most impressive and it
touches the ceiling. It has decorative cornice and red porphyry frieze as well as being flanked by
Corinthian marble columns in a Phyrgian purple. Each of the alcoves will have two columns in
either Numidian yellow or Phyrgian purple. Each of the alcoves also have three small areas for
statues that is surrounded by seven other windows that are located on the rotunda walls. Due to the

Compare And Contrast Medieval Art And Renaissance Art
When we look at the history of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, we always like to use the
confinement of thinking and the liberation of ideas to sum up the two, especially in the art, the
medieval paintings are often used in dark colors, deformed three dimensional concept Showing the
real world, and often less a bit human nature. And after the Renaissance, the painting masters are
the opposite of it. I am not here to comment on their good or bad, but from the artistic point of
view, to explore whether a good form of art needs to reflect the community and a wide range of
civilizations
The two paintings I exhibited came from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
The first is a medieval painting, created by the Italian painter Duccio creation, we can see that his

Political Stereotypes In Scandal
The political thriller Scandal which began airing in 2012 has become an immensely popular
television show. The protagonist Olivia Pope is portrayed by the actress Kerry Washington. Olivia
Pope is a crisis manager who runs her own firm, Pope Associates, which specializes in managing
political situations and making the problems of the elite go away. Scandal, challenges the
mainstream blueprint used to construct most televisionshows in Western society. Primarily, Scandal
breaks down stereotypes of African Americans and females in general in society. There are many
ways in which Scandal achieves these goals. Scandal has a diverse cast of characters normally not
portraited on television. The characters do not conform to the stereotypes that have made other
similar characters successful. Scandals also uses on screen and off screen choices that contrast
choices typically made by the television industry. Through these different choices Scandal portrays
African Americans and women on television in a way which is far from common in the industry.
Television is widely considered a more racial and gender friendly medium of popular culture.
However, prime time television is not nearly as progressive as people believe, and is still a male
dominated industry. In a report done by the Institute for Diversity and Empowerment at Annenberg,
11,306 speaking characters were evaluated and 66.5% were male, while 33.5% were female [1].
Moreover, 41.6% of females in television took leading or

Indian and International Accounting Standards
Indian and International Accounting Standards Practices
Introduction:
Accounting Standards are used as one of the main compulsory regulatory mechanisms for
preparation of general purpose financial reports and subsequent audit of the same, in almost all
countries of the world. Accounting standards are concerned with the system of measurement and
disclosure rules for preparation and presentation of financials statements. They appear with a set of
authoritative statements of how particular types of transactions, events and other costs should be
recognized and reported in the financial statements. Accounting standards are devised to furnish
useful information to different users of the financial statements, to such as shareholders, ... Show

Do we need to harmonize the accounting standards of different bodies?
Different companies observe it from published annual accounts of various Indian companies that
there are divergent accounting practices for the same transaction. This in effect is defeating the
comparability of financial statements.
The reasons for the different accounting practices may be:
a) Too many alternative accounting treatments in the accounting standards;
b) Lack of harmony among government, standards setting body, and regulatory agencies;
* Adoption of different accounting standards causes difficulties in making relative evaluation of
performance of companies. This phenomenon hinders the valuation and consequently the decision
making process.
* To overcome these problems, harmonization of accounting standards has already been started.
Accounting harmonization is not an end by itself, but it is a means to an end. The ultimate
objective of harmonizing accounting practices among countries is to foster international
comparability of accounts.
* But still the harmonization process has a long way to go. Many standard setting bodies and
regulators of different nations are ardent protectors of their local standards; they are in no mood to
allow their job being taken over by a foreign entity.
* Thus winning the consent of these bodies is vital for international accounting standards to don the
mantle of

The Pros And Cons Of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
Scientific advancements have the potential to be beneficial as well as detrimental. Whether it is
good or bad depends on numerous factors, such as the motive for the creation. In Ethics and the
New Genetics, by the Dalai Lama, he discusses how these scientific advancements can affect us on
social, political and ethical levels. He believes that while new technology can be beneficial, such as
for medical purposes, the motivation behind these creations is what can cause them to be harmful.
While new technology can be advantageous in humandevelopment and survival, it also has
consequences such as causing social and economic instability. Unmanned aerial vehicles,
commonly known as drones, initially were built to reduce casualties in a war, but the advantages
also carry risk. These war drones would minimize the causality of soldiers in combat by removing
them from the battlefield and replacing them with these unmanned flying vehicles. However, their
use has not always been beneficial. For instance, the use of these war drones has resulted in a

advantages of therapeutic cloning it has numerous disadvantages. Scientists cannot prove this
method to be completely safe for a patient. Some patients have had these cells that were made
from this process mutate into cancer cells. The cost for this is also extremely high so it is not
available to a large group of the population. While reproductive cloning of a human has not been
successful yet, there are some concerns surrounding that. As the Dalai Lama asked in his essay,

As I begin the research for this paper, I want to know what has occurred in the sports world that
has caused some of my favorite elite players to get hurt and never be able to play the game with the
same passion. Players such as Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls and Victor Cruz of the New York

time moves on because as time progresses so should advancements in technology, medicine, and

to outwork others. I also know that some of the most devastating injuries are knee injuries. Players
such as Derrick Rose who are known for their speed and explosiveness lose confidence in their
knees once the injuryhappens there is no turning back. I also think that players are playing the
sports with a different mindset. They are more aggressive and have different capabilities
compared to the old school athletes. After doing all my research I hope to learn what athletes may

which has managed to destroy and tumble some of these houses into the Atlantic Ocean

thus, defending it through efficient means is important as it stabilises the lives of the people who
inhabit the coast. To efficiently protect against coastal erosiona methodical combination of hard

According to the National Resource Council (2014), Galveston Seawall has protected Galveston
against numerous hurricanes, and it is estimated that if the seawall were not to be in place, it
would have cost the relevant authorities $234 million due to the damages made by a single
hurricane. Furthermore, as these seawalls redirect wave energy back into the sea or ocean their
base is slowly eroded (Masria et al., 2015), thus requiring constant expensive maintenance which
discourages investment and therefore the usage of seawalls. Seawalls may also lead to the
transportation of sand away from the beach and into the sea which would result in the acceleration
of beach erosion (National Resource Council, 2014). Overall, seawalls are a long term and effective
yet expensive mean to protect against natural disasters that emanate from the sea. However, they
may lead to negative long term environmental impacts such as accelerating the beach erosion
process.
Groynes
Furthermore, another hard engineering method that is utilised to protect against coastal erosion is
groynes. Groynes are dam like structures built into the shore with the purpose of blocking
sediments from drifting away (Galagano, 2003). Therefore, they provide their benefit to the beach
by trapping and holding sand and sediments in the desired location and allowing adequate elevation
to be maintained (Pope, 1997). The

Essay on Air Pollutants
A fleet of vehicles will have far reaching impacts; perhaps best known by the general public is the
impact on air quality.
Air pollutants may be released in a number of ways: first through evaporation during fueling, second
through tailpipe emissions while a car is running, and third through chemical reactions occurring
with byproducts or unused components emitted into the atmosphere.(Motor vehicles and toxic air
pollutants. 2008) Typical chemicals released include benzene, toluene, xylenes, diesel particulate
matter, and volatile organic compounds.(Motor vehicles and toxic air pollutants. 2008) In addition,
formaldehyde and acetaldehyde may be produced in reactions with the air. (Motor vehicles and

According to a 2005 study, air pollution may be estimated to be responsible for 3% of adult
cardiopulmonary disease mortality; 5% of trachea and bronchus mortality; and in children 1% of
mortality from acute respiratory infections in urban areas throughout the world.(Cohen et al., 2005)
Air pollutants from a fleet of vehicles may also cause environmental impacts such as the creation
of ground level ozone, a key component of smog, and the emission of greenhouse gases suspected
of causing drastic changes in the earth s climate. (Transportation and air quality planning: Federal
laws provide tools for change. 2008)
To combat these threats, federal and state level policies have been put in place to help monitor and
reduce air pollution. Perhaps the most far reaching of these was the 1990 Clean Air Act which
required the reformulating of gasoline and set emission standards from hydrocarbons and diesel
particulate matter. Subsequent amendments to this act required the removal of lead from gasoline
and limitations to the amount of sulfur in diesel fuel. (Air toxics from motor vehicles. August
1994) Government regulations on vehicles added requirements for emission reduction equipment
such as catalytic converters.(Motor vehicles and toxic air pollutants.2008) Specific federal

Difference Between Ferdinand De Saussure And Bloomfield
RANI DWI ASTUTI

Ferdinand de Saussure and Leonard Bloomfield
Ferdinand de Saussure and Leonard Bloomfield are both give big contributions towards linguistics.
They both produce theories which are now used in linguistics. They have similarity as they both
studied language as a structure using science basic. They both focus on the structure of the
language. However, they do have several differences as the developed their own theories based on
their thought about language.
Saussure s thought nowadays is defined the option of synchronic linguistics , the study of language
as systems existing at a given point in time. Saussure developed his synchronic linguistics when he

Bloomfield views language more as a diachronic linguistics or historical linguistics focusing in
behaviour. The main points of Bloomfield s theories of language description can already be
found in Boas, though they are often stated more explicitly and with more elaboration by
Bloomfield. What was new in Bloomfield was a philosophically sophisticated emphasis on the
status of linguistics as a science. Bloomfield was not merely passively influenced by logical but
(after a flirtation in his twenties with very different views) became an active, proponent of
positivist ideas as they applied to the study of human behaviour, including language. For
Bloomfield, linguistics was a branch of psychology and specifically of the positivistic brand of the
psychology known as behaviourism . Bloomfield s theorizing about language was heavily
behaviouristic. Behaviourism is a principle of scientific method: a rule which says that the only
things that may be used to confirm or refute a scientific theory are interpersonally observable
phenomena, rather than, say, people s introspections or intuitions . In some ways it was in fact
easier for linguist than for psychologist to accept behaviourist

Glass Window Of Chartes Cathedral
I am choosing to interpret the north rose stained glass window of Chartes Cathedral. This
beautiful stained glass window is located in the Notre Dame Cathedral in the town of Chartes,
located near central France. I will use a couple different approaches to interpret this stained glass
window. I will first begin analyzing this window through McDannell s method for interpreting
material culture. The method consists of three different parts: description, analysis, and
interpretation. To begin this process I will first analyze the window and provide details about the
description of the window. This window consists of many different colors, some bright and some

I will use is within the subfield of the cultural studies approach, known as visual culture. This
approach is focused on art history/the fine arts approach meaning that it is influenced by art history
and focuses on the visual art. Visual culture is the aspect of culture that is expressed in visual
images. The rose window expresses visual culture through the fleur de lis symbols painted on the
window. When you translate fleur de lis to English, it means, flower of the lily . The fleur de lis
has many different meanings but traditionally it has been used to represent French royalty as
well as representing perfection and life (The Fleur De Lis). This can be related to the stained
glass window since the fleur de lis symbols are painted on the top half of the window along with
the scene of the birth of baby Jesus. The visual culture approach not only focuses on art history and
visual art, but four ways in which images participate in religious practices. These four ways include
communication, communion, commemoration, and imagination. The main way that sticks out to
me most is the commemoration category. This category focuses on images that remember
important people, places, and ideas that are being celebrated and remembered. There are a few
important people who are being expressed in this window such as Mary, baby Jesus, and

Brand Perception Of Customers And Their Buying Behaviour...
Chapter One: Introduction
1.1)Background of the Research:
The main purpose of this research dissertation is to analyse brand perception on customers and
their buying behaviour within automobile industry. Brand perception is notably related with the
experiences of customers related with the product, service or company which produce and deliver
the product or service (Kervyn, Fiske Malone, 2012). In other words, brand perception can be
shaped through the practical experiences such as: speed, quality, reliability and availability, along
with the emotional experiences such as: good feeling, improvement of performance at home or at

Septic Tank Inspections
If you are buying your first home, or if you are buying your first home with a septic tank, you
need to take the septic tank inspection seriously. The septic tank inspection will reveal if you are
good to go for a number of years, or if you need to set aside thousands of dollars to replace the
septic tank within the first few years of purchasing the home. Here are the steps you needto take in
order to ensure you have accurate information before you purchase a home with a septic tank:
Step #1: Call A Licensed Septic Installation Company
The first thing you want to do is call up a licensed septic installation company to perform the septic
tank inspection for you. You want to use an septic tank expert to inspect it; not a general home
inspector. An expert can tell you what condition the septic tank is in and how much work you are
going to have to put into it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ask they to provide you with a quote for how much it would cost for you to do any necessary
repairs and fix the septic tank so that it is like new. You should also ask them to provide you with
the cost to install an entirely new septic system.
Even if the septic tank turns out to be in good condition, make sure that you get these numbers.
They will allow you to see and judge if you can afford the upcoming maintenance cost and plan for
future replacement costs.
Make sure that you get these quotes in writing with the date that the prices will be honored until.
That way, if you choose to fix or upgrade the system, you ll know the information you got during
your inspection was accurate, and actionable.

when he attempts to play baseball, and for likes and dislikes he is labeled a Sissy . The book

many flamboyant men must endure, whether straight or homosexual, every day when they are not

Essay about William Shakespeare s Relevance Today
William Shakespeare s Relevance Today
For as long as formal education has existed in Britain it has been a largely standard assumption
that teaching the works of William Shakespeare is relevant and necessary. Perhaps the relevance
of his writing is taken for granted, perhaps it is necessary to re examine the role of Shakespeare
for the modern audience. There are indeed many people who question the relevance of this 440
year old playwright to a 21st century audience, taking it even as far as perhaps the greatest heresy
of all, questioning the necessity of GCSE pupils learning Shakespeare at all. This proposed

Each play of Shakespeare is the development of a metaphor or group of metaphors. There is a
matrix out of which feeling finds words, emotions take shape and voices become characters. That
which is referred to most often in metaphors, images, allusions and statements is usually for
Shakespeare what is significant
(Rehder 1980 p56)
However simply because the theme is, arguably, not reliant on the context or overall setting, and
that this theme is relayed by metaphor and not in descriptive prose, is not perhaps justified cause
to say that the theme itself will necessarily be relevant; or indeed that the metaphorical vehicle by
which it is conveyed will be relevant or appreciable either. For example one of the more central
themes of King Lear, as with all the tragedies, is death. Death as a theme can be said to have
starkly contrasting meaning and therefore perhaps relevance for a modern audience as compared to
a Shakespearean one. Today death is a rare and terrible tragedy of momentous importance in the life
of an individual, in 16th century England with its plagues, starvation, infant mortality and state
violence; death was

A question that has been asked since the foundation of our country was made is, Can the death
penalty be considered Constitutional? Thomas Jefferson was known to have written letters with the

means for someone to even be considered for receiving the death penalty they must have committed

The novel Lolita exposes the pedophilia and perversion in the text; however, the child pornography

were in the beginning process for nationwide service programs for students. President Clinton
passed the National and Community Service Trust Act in 1993. It stated that the Americorps
program should offer openings for college students to serve the community as well as increase their
education. Thousands of schools have now incorporated service learning in their program of study

what is important about it. Service learning encompasses different components that are essential for
quality education. The beginning process of a service learning project is the preparation that comes
before the actual learning experience (Wade 21). This step involves careful planning and
collaboration of everyone s ideas that are to be involved in the project. The responsibilities and
outcomes that the students, teachers, and community plan on getting out of the project are

It involves the students, teachers, and community coming together and developing a program that

We do not fear the unknown. We fear what we think about the unknown. Is a quote from Teal

many famous movies, would probably have one of the best understandings of this idea. This is
through Burton s constant use of ideas about the unknown in many of his films. Yet, these ideas of
fearing the unknown and curiosity of the unknown are especially prominent in Burton s films such
as The Corpse Bride and Edward Scissorhands. There are a great amount of techniques Burton uses

He then becomes more of an outcast than he already was and now has to face the ridicule of his

ends up making the neighborhood realize that Edward was innocent of stealing and only acted in
self defense when killing Jim. The neighborhood then realized they never should have feared
Edward and then left Edward alone to enjoy doing what he loves. Both of these examples showcase
that these misfit characters taught their own societies to never fear them or the unknown. Burton
also tends to have a judgmental society to showcase further that society wrongly teaches people to
fear the unknown. Such as in Edward Scissorhands, where the neighborhood was always too quick
to judge Edward and automatically assumed the worst in him. This is especially present when the
neighborhood assumed Edward had killed Jim for no reason and then tried to kill Edward
themselves. This shows that the neighborhood harshly judges those who act outside of their
unspoken rules. This also demonstrates that the neighborhood will only believe what they want to
believe. In the end the neighborhood really only thought of Edward as something new that should
bring joy to their lives, but then wrongly taught themselves to fear him. This technique is also
evident in The Corpse Bride when the townspeople is struck by fear when the dead enter their

Physical Appearance Of Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
Kayla Caputo

English IV

Physical Appearance
In Frankenstein, Mary Shelley shows that appearance does not represent internal character by the
use of contrasting characters. Shelley uses the characters of the monster and Victor to show that
looks don t determine your personality. Physical appearance is related to internal character due to
the fact that people judge on looks before anything else. Social media, making people more
concerned with their looks, has influenced the importance of appearance. Different studies show
that people pick their friends and spouses based on appearance. Physical appearance is not an
indicator of character, but still the acceptance of someone who looks different lies in the eyes of
judgmental people.
In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein, physical appearance plays an immense role in the way characters
are treated. Many would believe that a beautiful exterior represents a beautiful soul, but that is
not the case. Victor creates a hideous monster that later becomes mistreated and judged solely on
his appearance. The monster is never given a chance by anyone besides Mr. De Lacey to show
his inner self. I am blind, and cannot judge of your countenance, but there is something in your
words which persuades me that you are sincere (Shelley 120). Since De Lacey is blind, he does not
have the power to judge the harmless monster on his appearance. He accepts the monster into his
home, not running in terror from his harsh exterior.

As commercial marketing works towards profits and benefiting the marketer, social marketing
works for the benefit for society and the consumer (Pealer 2014). The ultimate goal of social
marketing is achieving voluntary behavioral change and adoption of healthier behavioral habits. In
the 1970s, Kotler and Zaltman both promulgated that the same marketing principles used to sell
products can be used to see ideas. There are four principles to Social Marketing product, price, place
and promotion. Product is the health behavior you want to implement, the changes you want others
to take to become healthier. Price is the cost of attaining the behavior, from financial barriers to
social pressures inhibiting such health behaviors from taking root. Place is the channels to which

Egyptian Pyramids In Ancient Egypt
One of the first examples of a pyramid built in ancient Egypt was the Pyramid of Djoser. It s the

Djoser was built around 4650 years ago or 2640 BC. The pyramid was built in Saqqara, which

five layers were the same kind of structure but gradually getting smaller each new level. The
pyramid was designed by Imhotep, who was known by many as the father of ancient Egyptian
stone architecture. He made it 204 feet tall making the tallest structure of its time. The tomb with
the pharaoh s remains was made underneath the ground with a network of tunnels in attempts to
stop any kind of robbery. The pyramid is made out of limestone. Its base is 109 m Г— 125 m (358

Hawkins had a business model that relied on strategic partners to perform business tasks such as

The Blackfoot Nation Essay
Across Canada and the United States there are many First Nations languages which are a part of the
Algonquian language family, all of which with varying states of health. Although these languages
share many characteristics of the Algonquian language family, the cultures, systems of beliefs, and
geographic location of their respective Nations differentiate them. In being shaped by the landscape,
cultures, and spirituality of the First Nations, the language brings the speakers closer to their land
and traditions while reaffirming their identity as First Peoples. Using the BlackfootNation to further
explore this concept, this paper will show that while language threads together First Nations culture,

For example the Kainai, which means many leaders , did not choose to be referred to as the
Blood Nation (Bastien 2004, 10). There are many explanations as to how the Kanai became
widely referred to as the Blood Peoples. One explanation is that it comes from a Cree term used
to describe the Kanai by the red paint, which looks like blood, that is used in ceremony to paint
their face and hands red. A second explanation is there was a mistranslation of a term used to
describe the Kanai as wearers of white weasel pelts, to wearers of blood (Bastien 2004, 10). This
mistranslation comes from the similarities of the words for blood and the term used to describe
the changing of the white weasel pelts to white with the seasons (Bastien 2004, 10). In this case,
the Kanai, through the use of their language are asserting their preference to be known as the
many chiefs, over the Blood Peoples or the wearers of blood. Though today, the Blackfoot territory
is defined by reserve/reservation boundaries and divided by the United States Canadian border, their
homeland, Nitawahsinnanni ( our land ), continues to be defined by topographical features using
their language (The Blackfoot Gallery Committee, 2013, 12). This traditional homeland spans from
the North Saskatchewan River (Ponokasisahta, the Elk River) as far south as the Yellowstone
River, Montana (Otahkoitahtayi) and from the Rocky Mountains as far East as the Great Sand Hills

YAMBAO, Monn Juleuse F. mjfyambao@gmail.com E304: Kundt s Tube: Velocity of Sound in
Solid
METHODOLOGY
Two experiments were done last time due to some circumstances that made the class to lack time
and to be late compared to the official class syllabus. The students were able to accomplished the
job by equally dividing the time into two. The first experiment was about Kundt s tube. In this
experiment, longitudinal sound waves will be produced in a metal rod and an air column. Using the
properties of wave motion , the frequency of the sound and the speed of sound in the rod can be
determined.
For this experiment setup, following materials are needed such as a Kundt s tube apparatus, a meter
stick, a piece of cloth, a thermometer, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, the temperature is directly proportional to the velocity of sound in air. Comparing the
velocity of sound in the rod and the velocity of sound in air, the velocity of sound in the rod is
greater than the velocity of sound air since the molecular arrangement of solids are very much
compact that allows the waves to easily travel along the medium. The molecular arrangement of
gases is far apart from each other. Because of this, it makes it hard for the wave to travel the
energy from one particle to the other thus allowing the velocity of the sound to move slower.
SAMPLE COMPUTATION
Given:
Length of metal rod, Lr = 91.5 cm
Average length powder segments, La = 10 cm
Temperature of air, t = 26 ВВoC
Young s Modulus of rod, = 9.1 x 1010
Density of the rod, p = 8400 m/s

The Grade Of Grade Inflation
The grade a student receives depicts the knowledge one has on a particular subject. In the United
States, grades are based on; numerous tests, homework s, projects, and participation. This academic
curriculum students grades are based on gives them, a lot of leg room to improve their grades. On
the other hand, students turn in minimal work, hoping to be given an A. Therefore, the average grade
in the United States, has gone up due to the lack of effort students are putting into their work, which
is called a grade inflation. Nonetheless, many assumptions have been created on whether or not, it
is the students fault or the educators fault for grade inflations. The accusation of whether or not
faculty members are dumbing down the courses to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Students who attended colleges and universities around the mid 1900 s, used to study and learn
more than the students in the 21st century. Due to the fact that during that time period, educators
taught their students to learn the subject for the long run rather than to only study for the upcoming
exam. Currently, the institutions curriculum has been dumbed, the reason to that is some educators
are trying to benefit the institution and some students are not putting effort into the course.
According to Minnesota State University The period from 1955 to 1965 has been described as a
period of grade deflation. The average grade and GPA remained static even though the student
body possessed higher and higher SAT and ACT scores. During this period, grading did not rise
to reward the better qualified students . (N.P.) Grades received within 1955 to 1965 decreased
because educators had a higher academic expectation of the students work. This is because of the
knowledge and tools the students were exposed to, which was the educators help because educators
were trying to help the students succeed in the long run. The average of the SAT and ACT scores
increased because even though students grade point average deflated, the knowledge they were

The People s Republic Of China
On October 1, 1949 General Mao Zedong stood upon the steps of the Zhang Zhenshi, and
announced Zhongguo will become the People s Republic of China. This act propelled China into a
closed market, red country. Later on, China would become a closed market country; this would end
in the late 1980 s when China became an open market country. Since then China s economy has
been growing faster than any other economy in the world, and creating relationships with many
countries including the United States. As China continues to boom and increase relations with the
United States, fear in the U.S. has increased as well. The sudden thrust into communismfor the
people China lead to many issues. One of which was noticed right away. One of the largest
problems of communism is the idea that all people make the same amount of money despite
their profession. This lead to unrest of the citizens; riots started to occur, and the demand for
change was high. Along with the communistic ideas, China became cut off from the rest of the
world. Trade was minimal and their economy was closed to the rest of the world. This in itself
lead to tremendous amounts of problems as the population of China kept growing. There was
little food to feed the massive population, or enough goods and supplies. As the 1980 s
approached, and the death of Zedong in 1976, change was needed. In 1986 New China emerged,
the closed market economy opened back up to the world, and China was a time capsule closed
since the 50 s

A Research Report On Saudi Arabia
This study is taking a quantitative approach contain analysis and for that selecting three
representative newspapers and journalists in the Saudi Arabia, which are Al Riyadh, Sabq, Asharq
Al‑Awsat and Twitter accounts of three journalists on Twitter to collect the required data.
Moreover, this method is more suitable because it is creating an observation on the newsposted by
the newspapers that we have selected. Furthermore, it is important to note down that how
journalists are publishing the breaking news or retweet the breaking news from newspapers or
other journalists. From a review of previous research shows that many of the researchers relied on
the content analysis because it gives accurate results through observation and monitoring of the
variables that are used in the research questions. Content analysis will be used instead of a survey,
longitudinal analysis, or a secondary analysis because it is difficult to get accurate results from of
previous research. Additionally, Saudi Arabiais a new area in new media and there is not much of
the previous research in this area about the new media in Saudi Arabia. The questionnaire may be
suitable for this study, but perhaps does not respond to the questionnaire will be the right way,
because most of the people do not consider survey as an important thing and they do not answer it
clearly. So, as I pointed out earlier content analysis is the best for this study.

Computer Fraud and Abuse Act prohibits anyone from intentionally damaging a computer without
authorization while, prohibits unauthorized users from causing damage recklessly, and from
causing damage and loss negligently (Zetter, 2014). However, the defendant has access to the
computer without authorization which in this case, Toca s accusation to Becker is similar. Thus, in
this act, intruders are held accountable for any damage they cause intentionally by trespassing on a
computer, even if they did not intend to cause that damage.

Cyber stalking laws normally classify cyber stalking as a misdemeanor offense. However, a main

Myth #8 of the 50 Great Myths of Popular Psychology
Myth 8: Most people experience a midlife crisis in their 40 s or early 50 s
My definition of a midlife crisis is when a man or women hits middle age and experiences a
personal crisis in which they need to change something in their life in a drastic way. The first
example that comes to my mind is a man turning 50, buying a brand new bright red sports car and
dating a much younger woman. I think that some people do have perhaps a bigger midlife crisis
than others though. That meaning that some people will completely change their lives while others
may just change one single thing like occupation or hair color. I think that for the most part people
experience the smaller affects of mid life ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I found this to be the most interesting because many different topics were addressed and brought
up as to what may be a preceptor to mid life crisis. (Wethington, 2000, p. 92) The most common
answer from individuals was that midlife crisis had something to do with life events and
transitions. I found the most interesting answers came from the lower percentages of people. The
lower percentages of people (less than 10%) said that midlife crisis was provoked by such things
as job loss, career disappointment, increasing health issues, sexual dysfunction, menopause, mental
health illness, stress and some other unique cases. I found this to be fascinating because I believed
that these were the common preceptors to a mid life crisis. So discovering that very few people
found these to be a starter was rather shocking to

subject of teenage pregnancy and this storyline comprises the bulk of the plot. Juno reflects how
society s gender norms and attitudes have changed over time. In the past, it is likely that teenage
pregnancywould be portrayed negatively. However, Junodeals with her pregnancy in a cheerful
and upbeat manner and never loses her sharp tongue or quick wit and she receives support from
her family. The issue of casual sex is portrayed as being very normal since Juno and Paulie are not

George Lucas s Impact On The Film Making Industry

Cinema Appreciation

George Lucas When it comes to the filmmaking industry, there are many greats. Each one has
stamped their unique methods onto the world of film that developed into the beloved art that is
present today. Among one of those greats is George Lucas. George singlehandedly had one of
the most significant impacts on the development of special effects and sound technology. His
life experiences and friendships that he made along the way created the foundation for his great
success and drove him to his success. George Lucas, Jr. was born to George Lucas, Sr. and
Dorothy Lucas on May 14, 1944 in Modesto, California. Growing up, his family owned a
stationary store and they were in no way involved in the movie making business. Growing up,
Lucas was very passionate about cars and motor racing which would eventually influence the style
of movies he would create in the future. This passion was so strong that for the early parts of his
life he was determined to make racing his official career. While in high school he and... Show more

The Mummy In Ancient Egypt
Imagine you re an archeologist exploring Egypt and you find an old tomb, one that has not been
ransacked. Strangely, the mummy is a pharaoh in only a rich man s tomb and it turns out this
ruler died young. The mummy is King Tutankhamun and he was killed by Aye, his chief advisor.
Aye killed King Tut for power over Ancient Egypt. Evidence shows that the pharaoh had many
injuries before his death. Aye killed King Tut when they were hunting. Evidence supports this
because King Tut s Femur was broken and the skin was cut which suggests a sudden act of
violence, caused by Aye slicing the young king s leg making him lose control and be crushed by
his horse. Another piece of proof is that the king had a hemorrhage in his skull that may have been
an effect of the horse falling over. The ruler had two separate resins applies at two times which hints
that one was applied far away and the next during mummification. Aye sabotaged and killed King
Tut when hunting. When Aye... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

I know that the First Nations population pyramid reflects it as a developing country due to the
fact that the signature big youth base and small adult top is present, compared to the moderate
youth base and high adult top. Furthermore the living conditions as so bad for the First Nations
in Canada that on average 4 or 5 families live in one house with an average of 3 4 bedrooms and
over 100 communities nationwide have boil water advisories. My recommendation to help
solve this issue is to help improve the housing and living conditions in the reserves by granting
access to subsidized housing through various grants given to each community based upon the
number of residents which would also open up a wide variety of jobs in the secondary and
tertiary sectors. Recommendation #3 On the second graph it displayed the percentage of First
Nations people in the total population of every province and Canada in general. I have noticed
that graph has shown the fact that even though Canada s First Nations account for about 4% of
our population, the account for up to 85% of our population in some of our most desolate regions
of Canada, but in most of our more developed provinces such as Ontario the First Nations people
only account for 1% of its population. My recommendation to help the population distribution
across the country is to encourage the First Nations to move to more developed provinces with more

Original Recordings Of British American Marchen Essay
One of the earliest recordings of British American Märchen in the Archive of Folk Culture
includes Sam Harmon s rendition of Stiff Dick , a Jack tale parallel to the Brave Little Tailor
included in the Grimm Brother s Household Tales. These stories begin with Jack traveling the
country usually looking for work. He encounters a group of insects, sometimes butterflies, most
often house flies, and kills multiple with a stick or wooden paddle in one swing. The most
common number killed is seven, whereby Jack proceeds to have a belt or belt buckle made to
announce his accomplishment. In the Jack, Stiff Dick versions, the lettering reads, Stiff Dick,
killed seven with one lick! In less suggestive versions, the message reads, Strong man Jack, killed
seven at a whack! After the belt or belt buckle is made, Jack encounters the authority figure of
the region who misunderstands the meaning of the message. The king, wealthy land owner, or
lord of the region offers Jack a task based on his perception that Jack is a fierce fighter. The first
task is to remove a wild boar that has been terrorizing the area, killing livestock and injuring
people. Jack is offered a significant amount of money for the removal of the threat because all
other men of the expanse are frightened. Jack is fearful of the boar himself, and decides to pretend
to accept the offer but planning to slip out of the territory instead. While trying to escape the boar s
domain, he instead runs across the animal

Dalai Lama s Invasion On Tibetan Culture
During 1950, china invaded tibet and the small tibetan army couldn t handle the stronger chinese
army and had to give in. In 1951, a peaceful liberation took place and was signed by Tibet making
many agreements with China. The biggest condition was giving authority to the chinese over Tibet.
The upcoming anniversary of this liberation should not be commemorated because this was an
invasion on the tibetan culture and on the lives of the tibetan people.
A previous icon during the time of the peaceful liberation in Tibet, was the fourteenth Dalai Lama.
He tried to preach non violence to all the angry Tibetans. People refused his ways and began to
fight the communist ways and the Lama did not support them. When Dalai Lama returned to
India to celebrate the Buddha, he did not want to go back to Tibet with all the fighting.
Eventually a big fight broke out with the chinese army and tibetan gorillas and the Dalai Lama
had to flee and was no longer welcome in Tibet with his people. This liberation ruined a religious
icon in Tibet and that is no reason to celebrate.(Gale Group)

  • 2. Vodka Informative Speech All About Vodka: Vodka is a master of disguise and that s intentional. There are no universal rules to producing vodka, but the final product is supposed to be odorless, colorless and tasteless. Distillers like to leave their mark, though, so they tend to leave in at least some flavor so you know you re drinking their vodka. That might make it a little less interesting to drink straight (though it can certainly still be enjoyed this way), but vodka is perfect for mixing. It s made from fermented grains or potatoes, though you ll also find vodka that comes from sugar alcohols or various fruits. Some of the best known vodka producers hail from Russia, Belarus, Lithuania, Latvia and Poland, though it s made all over the world including in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That s why many producers cut it with distilled water. In America, Everclear offers the highest alcohol by volume at 95 percent, while a few Polish vodkas contain 98 percent alcohol by volume. Flavored Vodka: Key to vodka s explosion in America was the introduction of flavored vodka. Well, that and an enormous marketing push by Smirnoff in the 50s and 60s. Many vodka brands began adding flavor to the alcohol to make it more appealing, and today you can find almost any infusion you could dream of. Try Smirnoff Raspberry, Svedka Mango Pineapple, and CIROC Apple Vodka to dip your proverbial toes into the flavored vodka waters. Flavors add drinkability when you shoot vodka straight and can enhance cocktails if you prefer adding mixers to your beverage. How to Drink It: Vodka is a blank slate, so use your imagination. Screwdrivers, martinis, bloody marys and greyhounds are just some of the classic cocktails. There s also the ubiquitous vodka and soda, which might help you feel more sophisticated. However, if you find yourself in possession of a particularly nice bottle, feel free to drink it neat, preferably in a cut crystal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Diabetic Care Plan For Diabetes Diabetic Care Plan African Americans are almost twice as likely to be diagnosed with diabetes as non Hispanic whites and suffer from the complications of this chronic illness (US Department of Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health, 2015). Some of the complications includes vision loss, amputation of a limb, and end stage renal disease. The reason for choosing this illnessis because a family member was recently diagnosed with diabetes mellitustype two at the age of thirty two. She is from the African Americandescent and has been living with this chronic illness since her teenager years. After the family member began to learn about diabetes and the symptoms associated with this disease, she realized some of the symptoms of diabetes was displayed during her teenager years. The family member is willing and eager to learn about diabetes mellitus. She is ready to regain control over her health and find the ways to effectively manage this chronic illness. • 5. The Expansion Of Modernity By Ferdinand T Г“Ељ Nnies Most theorists agree that the expansion of modernity has resulted in the decline in the natural will based type of community, and has paved the way for less of a need for the Gemeinschaft type of society and the rise the Gesellschaft association, in which the individuals engage in impersonal and contractual arrangements, rather than a meaningful, emotionally invested relationship with others. Modernity is intrinsically disorderly because it encourages individuals to experiment, to hope, to gamble, and to be ambitious. Its social life lacks the predictability and the certainties that characterize societies governed by tradition. Individual creativity is exchanged for the security of calculable social obligations and the sense of belonging that emanate from fixed social bonds (Savage and Warde, 1993, p.150). Essentially, individuals give up a sense of belonging in order to experience what that have not, and could not in a traditional community. They give up the security of being a part of a group in order to gain individual creativity. THEORIES Ferdinand TУ§nnies is seen as the theorist with the most direct influence over later sociological work and communities. He wanted to eliminate the spatial contexts and superiority of neither village nor city life when analyzing communities, in attempt to identify the main features and quality of each way of life. He coined the terms Gemeinschaft and Gesellschaft, which would later be used by one of the founders of modern sociology, Max ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Essay On Numerical Modeling Of Urban Flow It is undisputed that numerical modeling of urban flow provides information on the thermal comfort, ventilation and air quality in urban environments. However, the complexity of real world processes limits current numerical models to certain simplifications and assumptions. These assumptions, and their validity for the accurate representation of urban microclimate, depend on the textit{parameters} and textit{scale of interest}. In the textit{microscale}, one of the common simplifications in modeling is regarding the urban morphology: idealized configuration of 2D or 3D street canyons are often used to represent urban areas in order to remove the uncertainty caused by complex (and random) geometries. Another common assumption is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Additionally, a realistic distribution of surface heating plays a pivotal role for thermal comfort and heating/cooling loads in urban areas. On the other hand, in the case of the urban textit{flow field}, the instability level motivates or demotivates the detailed consideration of realistic surface heating, as observed for the effect of realistic heating on the drag coefficient citep{santiago14}. For instance, the formation of the secondary vortex in the opposing condition is only seen for the highly unstable regime; and in the weakly unstable condition, the modification of the primary vortex due to the horizontal heating is less significant. Nonetheless, the roof heating, and therefore the advection of the warm air inside the building canyon, should not be neglected as it modifies the vertical instability inside the building canyon, as well as the pressure gradient in the span wise direction. On the other hand, substantial modification of flow field is observed for 3D versus 2D configurations. In the span wise direction, modification of the flow due to the combined effect of 3D configuration and heating distribution is pronounced, where the formation of counter rotating and asymmetric vortices in and above the canyon are seen. Lastly, when the textit{concentration field} is analyzed, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Essay about Conflict Resolution Conflict Resolution Many people enjoy working or participating in a group or team, but when a group of people work together chances are that conflicts will occur. Hazleton describes conflict as the discrepancy between what is the perceived reality and what is seen as ideal (2007). We enter into conflicts reluctantly, cautiously, angrily, nervously, confidently and emerge from them battered, exhausted, sad, satisfied, triumphant. And still many of us underestimate or overlook the merits of conflict the opportunity conflict offers every time it occurs (Schilling, nd.). Conflict does not have to lead to a hostile environment or to broken relationships. Conflict if resolved effectively can lead to a positive experience for everyone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Keeping all these in mind can lead to the best solution to solve the conflict. Change and Expectations People do not always adjust well to change. Oftentimes when change occurs, conflict will arise. The new boss on the job or the new member of the team may be the change that brings a conflict. Expectations if not set clearly and held to standard can also lead to conflict among the team. Expectations must be set from the beginning. Expectations must also be clear and it must be verified that each team member understands the expectations. If a short coming on the expectations occurs, then action must be taken immediately. If no action is taken this could be understood as silent approval and team members will believe that the expectation is no longer important or required. When conflict does occur, the five models set out in The Thomas Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument sets the standards for resolving the conflict. Avoidance Avoidance is defined as an act or practice of avoiding or withdrawing from something (Merriam Webster.com). Avoidance may not be the answer if the conflict directly affects the team or the team s goal. Avoidance is usually used when the conflict is irrelevant, relationships are at stake, more important issues are pressing, when one party is more emotionally involved, or when more information is needed (Culbertson, 2000). In avoidance the parties involved agree to place ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The following systematic record includes 21 charophyte species belonging to 6 genera and 4 families. Most of these species have been reported previously from other areas in the numerous studies that have been carried during the last two decades on the Mesozoic charophytes flora of Europe. • 10. How Did The Mistakes King Louis Xvi Made Of all of the mistakes king Louis XVI made, whether it be not taxing the rich, his frivolous spending and just overall weakness, I think the worst mistake he made was trying to flee the country. With the country already on edge from the revolution and the fact that the people who hated you the most and you screwed over the most were the ones in charge,it kind of seemed like a bad time to flee the country. But let s give King Louis XVI the benefit of the doubt, maybe he was getting overwhelmed with the fact his power was being ripped from his hands. Even though his power was getting ripped from his hands because of the mistakes he himself made. He did things like making the voting of the National Assembly unfair to a huge amount of ... Seeing as how the Civil War was known as the first modern war, it is appropriate to say that much new technological advancement was made. Behind every piece of new technology or idea, there is a person or team that dedicated their time to the development. When it comes to the Civil Waraeronautics and much other future advancement, Thaddeus S. C. Lowe is the man behind it. Lowe was an integral part in the success of the aeronautics division of the war and paved the way for the world s future success in many other fields. Thaddeus Lowe s work was greatly under appreciated. He and other aeronauts proved time and time again just how useful balloons could be, but, the work of Wise, Lowe, Steiner, and other aeronauts as observers should have stirred up enthusiasm for balloons as military weapons, but neither the Army nor the American public properly appreciated the potential of aeronautics (Scamehorn 9). This never stopped Lowe from pursuing his dream. He fought to make ends meet by taking odd jobs so he could finance his education in physics and other subjects that would eventually set him up for his success in aeronautics. Through his persistent work, at thirty years of age, Thaddeus Lowe had organized an aeronautics corps for the Union Army something that only a handful of people wanted to see happen at the time (Military Intelligence Corps Hall of Fame). Its large dome is an everlasting testimony to the architectural genius of the Romans and the building still remains basically in tact and offers a unique opportunity for many visitors to journey back in time to 2,000 years ago and experience the Roman glory. Atmosphere and Interior As you make your way towards the bronze doors, and walk under the rectilinear porch, the height and width of the building will fill your vision completely. You have plenty of room to move around and how you see in this area. The rotunda happens to be one of the most remarkable features that the Pantheon has, it was the biggest domed structure until 1912. The interior of the Pantheon is more dramatic and stunning in comparison to its exterior. When you walk inside, you are bombarded with various colours of light that reflect off of a variety of surfaces. The alcove that is just opposite the door, is the most impressive and it touches the ceiling. It has decorative cornice and red porphyry frieze as well as being flanked by Corinthian marble columns in a Phyrgian purple. Each of the alcoves will have two columns in either Numidian yellow or Phyrgian purple. Different companies observe it from published annual accounts of various Indian companies that there are divergent accounting practices for the same transaction. This in effect is defeating the comparability of financial statements. This phenomenon hinders the valuation and consequently the decision making process. * To overcome these problems, harmonization of accounting standards has already been started. Accounting harmonization is not an end by itself, but it is a means to an end. Whether it is good or bad depends on numerous factors, such as the motive for the creation. In Ethics and the New Genetics, by the Dalai Lama, he discusses how these scientific advancements can affect us on social, political and ethical levels. He believes that while new technology can be beneficial, such as for medical purposes, the motivation behind these creations is what can cause them to be harmful. While new technology can be advantageous in humandevelopment and survival, it also has consequences such as causing social and economic instability. Unmanned aerial vehicles, commonly known as drones, initially were built to reduce casualties in a war, but the advantages also carry risk. These war drones would minimize the causality of soldiers in combat by removing them from the battlefield and replacing them with these unmanned flying vehicles. This idea is incorporated into a lot of director s movies, however, Tim Burton, a creator of many famous movies, would probably have one of the best understandings of this idea. This is through Burton s constant use of ideas about the unknown in many of his films. Yet, these ideas of fearing the unknown and curiosity of the unknown are especially prominent in Burton s films such as The Corpse Bride and Edward Scissorhands. There are a great amount of techniques Burton uses to convey these ideas of the unknown, but Burton typically uses techniques such as some sort of misfit protagonist that is different than most people and a judgmental... The neighborhood then realized they never should have feared Edward and then left Edward alone to enjoy doing what he loves. Both of these examples showcase that these misfit characters taught their own societies to never fear them or the unknown. Burton also tends to have a judgmental society to showcase further that society wrongly teaches people to fear the unknown. Such as in Edward Scissorhands, where the neighborhood was always too quick to judge Edward and automatically assumed the worst in him. This is especially present when the neighborhood assumed Edward had killed Jim for no reason and then tried to kill Edward themselves. This shows that the neighborhood harshly judges those who act outside of their unspoken rules. This also demonstrates that the neighborhood will only believe what they want to believe. Physical Appearance Of Mary Shelley s Frankenstein Kayla Caputo Ms. Schindler English IV 23 March 2015 Physical Appearance In Frankenstein, Mary Shelley shows that appearance does not represent internal character by the use of contrasting characters. Shelley uses the characters of the monster and Victor to show that looks don t determine your personality. Physical appearance is related to internal character due to the fact that people judge on looks before anything else. Social media, making people more concerned with their looks, has influenced the importance of appearance. Different studies show that people pick their friends and spouses based on appearance. Physical appearance is not an indicator of character, but still the acceptance of someone who looks different lies in the eyes of judgmental people. In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein, physical appearance plays an immense role in the way characters are treated. Many would believe that a beautiful exterior represents a beautiful soul, but that is not the case. Victor creates a hideous monster that later becomes mistreated and judged solely on his appearance. The monster is never given a chance by anyone besides Mr. De Lacey to show his inner self. I am blind, and cannot judge of your countenance, but there is something in your words which persuades me that you are sincere (Shelley 120). Since De Lacey is blind, he does not have the power to judge the harmless monster on his appearance. He accepts the monster into his home, not running in terror from his harsh exterior. ... For example the Kainai, which means many leaders , did not choose to be referred to as the Blood Nation (Bastien 2004, 10). There are many explanations as to how the Kanai became widely referred to as the Blood Peoples. One explanation is that it comes from a Cree term used to describe the Kanai by the red paint, which looks like blood, that is used in ceremony to paint their face and hands red. A second explanation is there was a mistranslation of a term used to describe the Kanai as wearers of white weasel pelts, to wearers of blood (Bastien 2004, 10). This mistranslation comes from the similarities of the words for blood and the term used to describe the changing of the white weasel pelts to white with the seasons (Bastien 2004, 10). In this case, the Kanai, through the use of their language are asserting their preference to be known as the many chiefs, over the Blood Peoples or the wearers of blood. I know that the First Nations population pyramid reflects it as a developing country due to the fact that the signature big youth base and small adult top is present, compared to the moderate youth base and high adult top. Furthermore the living conditions as so bad for the First Nations in Canada that on average 4 or 5 families live in one house with an average of 3 4 bedrooms and over 100 communities nationwide have boil water advisories. My recommendation to help solve this issue is to help improve the housing and living conditions in the reserves by granting access to subsidized housing through various grants given to each community based upon the number of residents which would also open up a wide variety of jobs in the secondary and tertiary sectors. Recommendation #3 On the second graph it displayed the percentage of First Nations people in the total population of every province and Canada in general. I have noticed that graph has shown the fact that even though Canada s First Nations account for about 4% of our population, the account for up to 85% of our population in some of our most desolate regions of Canada, but in most of our more developed provinces such as Ontario the First Nations people only account for 1% of its population. My recommendation to help the population distribution across the country is to encourage the First Nations to move to more developed provinces with more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 52. Original Recordings Of British American Marchen Essay One of the earliest recordings of British American MГ¤rchen in the Archive of Folk Culture includes Sam Harmon s rendition of Stiff Dick , a Jack tale parallel to the Brave Little Tailor included in the Grimm Brother s Household Tales. These stories begin with Jack traveling the country usually looking for work. He encounters a group of insects, sometimes butterflies, most often house flies, and kills multiple with a stick or wooden paddle in one swing. The most common number killed is seven, whereby Jack proceeds to have a belt or belt buckle made to announce his accomplishment. In the Jack, Stiff Dick versions, the lettering reads, Stiff Dick, killed seven with one lick! In less suggestive versions, the message reads, Strong man Jack, killed seven at a whack! After the belt or belt buckle is made, Jack encounters the authority figure of the region who misunderstands the meaning of the message. The king, wealthy land owner, or lord of the region offers Jack a task based on his perception that Jack is a fierce fighter. The first task is to remove a wild boar that has been terrorizing the area, killing livestock and injuring people. Jack is offered a significant amount of money for the removal of the threat because all other men of the expanse are frightened. Jack is fearful of the boar himself, and decides to pretend to accept the offer but planning to slip out of the territory instead. While trying to escape the boar s domain, he instead runs across the animal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 54. The Assassin The Assassin Short Story He just lay there, on the wet ground, for hours. He looked as though he was just casually waiting and that it was perfectly normal to lie on the ground. After a few hours it started to rain heavily, though this did not discourage him in the slightest as he just carried on lying there, looking comfortable and content. Once in a while a car would drive along the lonely road and the people inside would stare in his direction but the long grass hid him. He had a serious frown and thin, pursed lips with a protruding jaw. Whilst lying there in the rain he chain smoked a cigarette, carefully putting the buts in his pocket to ensure no evidence was left, and watched the view... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the car went past the gate, he noticed a long deep scratch along the left side of it. Right on queue, the car drove over the nail he had planted on the path, the car swerved and came to a stop. The woman in the car got out and went to the tyre to see if she could see what had punctured it. She went back to the car and fished out her mobile. She put it to her ear, but didn t say anything. He looked at his own, and saw that there was no signal and then looked up and saw that she was trying again. A frustrated expression appeared on her face. Soon after she got back in the car to shelter from the rain. A little while later, she got out and started to run towards the house, the rain thrashing against her body. She accidentally ran into a puddle and tripped, but dragged herself up and carried on running. When she got near the porch, she stopped to take a look at the house. After a minute or two, she walked towards the entrance to the house, her hair by now plastered to the side of her face. As she reached the door, she paused, just as he knew she would. She turned the doorknob and stepped inside, and then he pounced, hitting her in the back of the head with one single shot. He walked up when she was on the floor and shot her again to ensure that she was dead. The walls were painted with her deep red blood, and her splintered ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 55. Dalai Lama s Invasion On Tibetan Culture During 1950, china invaded tibet and the small tibetan army couldn t handle the stronger chinese army and had to give in. In 1951, a peaceful liberation took place and was signed by Tibet making many agreements with China. The biggest condition was giving authority to the chinese over Tibet. The upcoming anniversary of this liberation should not be commemorated because this was an invasion on the tibetan culture and on the lives of the tibetan people. A previous icon during the time of the peaceful liberation in Tibet, was the fourteenth Dalai Lama. He tried to preach non violence to all the angry Tibetans. People refused his ways and began to fight the communist ways and the Lama did not support them. When Dalai Lama returned to India to celebrate the Buddha, he did not want to go back to Tibet with all the fighting. Eventually a big fight broke out with the chinese army and tibetan gorillas and the Dalai Lama had to flee and was no longer welcome in Tibet with his people. This liberation ruined a religious icon in Tibet and that is no reason to celebrate.(Gale Group) China calling Tibet their own makes intentions on how Tibet revealed itself good, at least on the outside. Another improvement people view in favor of the Chinese is that they helped improve the agriculture. This proves true and it would of been a change for the better if only the Chinese didn t take away all the privately owned farm lands in Tibet and make it their own land. Developing better agriculture didn t feel like an accomplishment for the Tibetans because the had no ownership over the land, meaning there is no need for a celebration in ...
