December 2015
This essay will discuss the differences between the two architects, Le Corbusier and Laurie Baker
and how concerns such as sustainability and climate change relates to contemporary visual culture.
Le Corbusier was born in Switzerland on October 6th, 1887 and died in France on August 27th,
1965. Corbusier was known for his minimalist designs and theoretical implementations to his
designs. Corbusier uses what he titles it to be the five points of a new architecture and in these
points, it is clear to see that Corbusier prioritises aesthetics over function. Laurie Baker was born
in England on March 2nd, 1917 and died in India on April 1st, 2007. Baker looked at both
technical and aesthetic qualities equally and did not prioritise in one. Baker constantly considers
the way to provide an eco friendly way to produce something whereas Corbusier s designs involved
heavy machinery which produces negative contributions to the environment. This essay mainly use
the recourses, Architecture of rural housing: some issues in India by Romi Khosla, Le Corbusier s
Ruins: The Changing Face of Chandigarh s Capitol by Vinayak Bharne, and A contemporary city
by Le Corbusier.

Evaluation Of A Central Security Management System Essay
4.1.3ENDPOINT ATTACK RESPONSE
When an endpoint is attacked, it should defend itself, report the attack and reconfigure itself to
thwart the attack based on policy. The responsible security management should provide the policy
to the secure agent in the endpoint in response to the attack, or a priori for use when
communication with the server is severed.
4.1.4REMOTE POLICY MANAGEMENT
A central security management system defines the configuration of the security controls and
functions as a form of a security policy for each endpoint. The security policy is communicated to
the secure agent that authenticates and enforces the policy at the endpoint. Policies can be
modified and updated to the security agent on demand to address new vulnerabilities or changing
concerns in response to changing circumstances.
4.1.5LOGGING AND EVENT MONITORING
The security agent must be able to monitor and record events as they occur at the endpoint
including events pertinent to security violation, user login/logout, data access, configuration
update, application execution and communication.
4.1.6APPLICATION WHITELISTING
Mechanisms should be in place at the endpoint to ensure that only known and authorized
application code (whitelist) including binaries, scripts, libraries are allowed to execute on the
endpoint to prevent the endpoint from being compromised by malicious code. All other execution
attempts should be halted, logged and reported. The security management system may update the

Informed Consent For The Pediatric Population
Informed consent is the process by which patients are informed of the possible outcomes,
alternatives, and risks of treatments and are required to give their consent freely (Burkhardt
Nathaniel, 2013, p. 528). Informed consent is a right given to the patient that provides an
opportunity for the patient to actively participate in their own healthcare. But when it comes to the
pediatric population, children are not guaranteed this right. While children are often allowed to
voice their opinions during the informed consent process, this does not assure that the parents and
healthcare professionals will take the children s opinions into consideration. Parents are held
accountable to provide the legal informed consent for their children and this can raise ethical and
legal issues for nurses when they act as the patient advocates for the children in their care. This
begs the question, are children capable of participating in the decision making process of their own
informed consent? According to the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurse, as stated in Provision 1.4,
Patients have the right to decide what is to be done with and to their own person and part of that
right involves the right to have the information and facts necessary to make an intelligent and
enlightened decision regarding health care decision making. Patients have the right to assistance in
weighing the benefits and risks of treatment or the refusal of treatment without any inflection of the

The Pros And Cons Of Academic Dishonesty
McCabe has said that an estimated seventy percent of college students have admitted to some type
of cheating. He supports this claim by saying that the parties to blame here is the school system
and the media. HBU defines academic dishonesty to when a student cheats or steals someone s
work and passes it as their own among these are a list of actions that count for academic dishonesty.
Some examples being brought up about dishonesty is how in the NFL saw past the deflating
incident in the Super Bowl were it seems like the media praised the player for his actions
(Loschiavo). Therefor, students think it is correct to do be dishonest in their class work.
The article talks about how the way the school system is set up students are not able to fully write
a complete a research paper. Most of the time an act like this is impulsive, something that is done
without thinking. It is said that teachers are basically taking a short cut by teaching their student
the concept of paraphrasing what they read instead of teaching them how to properly put things in
a context they can explain themselves. The research was done by a Dean who dealt with student
dishonesty for over sixteen years, but yet each student is has different reasons for their acts.
McCabe himself says in the article that cheating can be one of many things such as a cry for help
to just not knowing how to properly cite their resources. Being a fresh out of high school student I
often witness student being told that what they

Data Mining Business Analytics

DATA MINING AND BUSINESS ANALYTICS
Data Mining is the computerized acknowledgment of diverse patterns in extensive data sets that are
past analysis. It utilizes diverse mathematic algorithms to locate the right information as well as
foresee the probability of future events. Some key properties that I learned in this topic are:
discovery of useful patterns
predictions of their future outcomes
analysis on larger datasets
useful data from them With increasing data the storage of the data must also be increased, which
is a problem. So, data is stored or recorded in the form of computer data bases which makes easy
to access the right data at any given point of time. To extract the right data from all these present
volumes of data, usually certain traditional way of data analysis like regression analysis, cluster
analysis, numerical taxonomy, multi dimensional analysis, time series analysis , estimation
outcome analysis and many more are used.
Both data mining and data analysis are a subset of Business Intelligence which also includes data
management systems, data warehouses and Online analytic processing(OLAP). To manage the
mountains of information, the data is put away in a warehouse of information accumulated from
different sources, including corporate databases, compressed data from interior frameworks, and
information from outer

Symbolism In The Veldt
While money can t buy happiness, it certainly lets you choose your own form of misery (Groucho
Marx). Money and pride are two things can prove extremely destructive to a family s relationship
with each other. The short story, The Veldt effectively demonstrates how so. This story is the first
of an anthropology, The Illustrated Man, written by Ray Bradbury, who is also known for writing
the successful book, The Martian Chronicles . In The Veldt , Bradbury proves the theme that pride
and money should not get in the way of living through the use of symbolism and dialogue.
Bradbury uses symbolism throughout the text. One example is the Happylife Home, a symbol of
the pride and money that ruined the lives of the Hadley family.

Romantic Love Definition Essay
Throughout the world, there are numerous ways to express and show love to the ones we care
about. However, what does love truly mean? There are numerous forms of love, but how can you
define romantic love? People tend to agree and disagree about the definition of this type of love,
and cannot come to a concise conclusion of what it means. Erich Fromm states that mature love
includes: care, responsibility, respect, and knowledge. As I have interviewed people of different
ages and marital status, I found that everyone who I had interviewed had a similar idea to what
romantic love is. Nevertheless, those who have been married for over twenty years seemed to have
a deeper knowledge of what love is than those who are young and single. Although... Show more

They all believed to some degree that this type of love is caring about someone more than
yourself, and that it is unconditional. However, there were several differences when it came to
the content of their answers. For example, my Grandpa, who has been married to my Grandma
for fifty three years, explained that love is unconditional and that you must be willing to sacrifice
for the person you care about so things can work out. On the other hand, when I asked my male
eighteen year old friend what love is, he said that love is the feeling of care towards someone.
Although the answers were similar, the content within their answers were different. My grandpa
seemed to have an extensive comprehension of what love is, while my young male friend did not
have that knowledge of what love truly is and what it can be. Furthermore, when I analyzed the
answers of other people from the interviews, I discovered that there was difference in answers
depending on their age. While those who were married for a long period of time understood more
what love means, young, single adults did not have the same

President Washington s Miscalculation To Assist France
President Washington had made an agreement to assist France if they found themselves in a war.
However, Washington made this agreement assuming it would be when America had a stable
military. This miscalculation creates a situation in which Washington must decide whether he will
assist his recent ally or to break his agreement and stay neutral. Washington is bound by his
arrangement to keep his word and assist the French. However, if Washington aids the war in the
American s current state it will likely lead to further chaos in America s stability. The decision
Washington is provided effects not only him, but the entire population of America. With
Washington s verdict both choices effect the American population and the French population. The

Atrocities in Stafford s Traveling Through the Dark Essays
Atrocities in Stafford s Traveling Through the Dark
Is a drive just a drive, or is it a metaphor that imparts appreciation for life s fragility while
simultaneously lamenting man s inability to appropriately confront, or understand, death? William
Stafford s Traveling Through the Dark illustrates the mechanisms by which seemingly mundane
events become probes into the mystery and ambiguity of the human condition.
The poem s situation is simple, a lone traveler driving along a desolate canyon road spots a felled
deer; the traveler, desiring neither to hit the deer, nor by swerving to avoid it, hurtle his car over
the canyon precipice, stops his vehicle and proceeds to push the fallen animal over the canyon face,

Yet, he is not totally at ease with the choice he is compelled to make, he hesitates: I thought hard
for us all my only swerving then pushed her over the edge into the river (17 18). He recognizes
the preciousness of the fawn s life, but must act dispassionately regardless. Swerving, deviating
from the path he knows he must follow, might have cost him his life on the road; his swerving here
is of a different nature, mental or emotional, yet its result is still death.
The poem s language emphasizes the inevitability and finality of the traveler s confrontation.
Alliterated d consonant sounds, as in death , pervade poem s first and second stanzas: dark , deer ,
dead , doe , even stiffened and cold . These words evoke feelings of deliberate doom that transcend
their literal definitions and thud with terminal authority. Contrastingly, the repetition of the Ocirc;
vowel sound in the third stanza (warm and born) creates an atmosphere as inviting and secure as a
womb.
The poem s language also gives rise to specific images. The deer s description, ...stood by the
heap...a recent killing; / she had stiffened already, almost cold (3 4), paints a somber picture of
death. Words like heap , stiffened , and cold contribute to the impression of lifelessness.
However, language is also used to impart vitality. The traveler s

United States Government And The Government
United States government is established by the constitution. United States is a federal republic
country. The government consists of a federal power led by the president. There are state
governments to assist in the decision makings by the federal government. United States federal
government is divided into three different branches. The constitution allows a separation of power
among the government. Legislative branch creates laws. They also have the ability to declare war
on other countries. Inside the branch, the Senate, the House of Representatives, or the congress,
and other agencies, are elected by the citizens. There are 100 senators and 435 representatives. In
Georgia, the two Senators are Johnny Isakson and David Perdue. Some... Show more content on

Judicial branch interprets the laws and uses the interpretations to decide whether certain cases or
events fail to follow the constitution or not. The Supreme Court is the head court that consists of
justices chosen by the president and approved by the senate. The number of justices is decided by
the senate. As of now, there are nine justices. The current Chief Justice is John G. Roberts, Jr.
Other federal courts are also part of the Judicial Branch. Through checks and balances, the three
branches maintain equal amounts of power. For instance, the executive branch confirms on the
law propositions that the legislative branch makes, and then the judicial branch makes sure that
law is constitutional. Power is also given to state governments. Individual states also follow the
three branch system. In Georgia, the executive branch is led by a governor; currently, Nathan
Deal is the governor of Georgia. The legislative branch is bicameral, meaning that the legislature
consists of two chambers different responsibilities. The legislature is made up of the members of
the Senate and the House of Representatives. The Georgia judicial branch is headed by the state
supreme court. Hugh P. Thompson is the chief justice. Wars and treaties A declaration of war was
made with Great Britain in 1812. Although the conflict was rather minor, it had a large impact on
Canadians and Native Americans. The war was resoluted by the Treaty of

Confliction In The Glass Castle
The Glass Castle, written by Jeannette Walls, is a memoir detailing the childhood and family
experiences of Jeannette which include the hardships she faced and the memories she has made.
She documents her early life through the experiences of having to move constantly from the
orders of her parents and living under poor conditions. She is eventually motivated to move away
from her parents and away from the conditions to make a life and pursue a passion for herself.
Although, she dealt with many inconveniences throughout her early life, she doesn t seem angered
by her parents for having to deal with those problems. This confliction in feelings resulting from
experiences is why the tone of the memoir is also confliction.

starts to deteriorate and they are desperate to turn it around. Because of this, Lori claims that she
will never get out of Welch with Jeannette thinking that ..if Lori never got out of Welch, neither
would I (229). Another example of the tense relationship between her dad was when he brought up
plans of The Glass Castle once more when Jeannette was set on going to New York City. Her dad
tries to bring back the plans that she had been excited about early in her childhood, but she
overcomes the previous joy she had and is now realistic about outcome of The Glass Castle, saying
that it will probably never be built (238). Her relationship with her mother has also been changed,
with Jeannette being more conscious about what her mom is doing as she settled later in life in
New York City with Jeannette telling her mom that she wants to change her life and make it better.
Her mom immediately rejects this and states that she is fine and that Jeannette is the one that needs
help since her values are all confused, which conflicts the relationship between them as they both

a backwards state , also in the early 1980s more than 80% of China was in poverty, but two
decades later after the massive reforms of Deng Xiaoping, the poverty level drastically decreased.
This incredible task could have only been done though the outstanding leadership and policies of

In 1978 when Deng came into official power China had greatly suffered economically. This was
the result of the orthodox socialist and communist policies implemented largely during the
Cultural Revolution. China s economic growth in the 1960s and 1970s was very slow, almost
stagnant (World Bank), this lead to the expected result of being left in the dust by many
countries in Asia, such as Japan. Also in 1978 the population of China living in a rural situation
was at least 76.3% (Reuters) of the total Chinese population, equivalent to around 743,463,800
people living in China. However when Deng took over and put his economic policies in place,
which included, but were not limited to: opening China to foreign trade. His other economic
policies eased the government control over economics and it resulted in a large boost of
economic growth, this economic growth extended even past the time he resigned in the 1990s.
For instance the GDP (Gross Domestic Product, a determiner of the quality of life) per capita in
1978 was 154.07 billion U.S dollars (World Bank), just 30 years later the Chinese GDP per capita
in 2008 skyrocketed to 3,170 billion U.S dollars (World Bank). This increase from 154.07 billion
U.S dollars to 3,170 billion U.S dollars represents an approximate whopping 20.57% increase in its
GDP in only 30 years after Deng implemented his reforms and

Importance Of Building Community In Schools
Organizations tend to face many unique challenges. One of these challenges, especially in schools,
is building a sense of community. Thomas J. Sergiovanni s Building Community in Schools, first
published in 1994, asserts that in order for schools to improve in any and all aspects of the school
environment, the schoolshould first place an emphasis on community building. Sergiovanni was a
professor of educationat Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas where he taught in the school
leadership program and in the teacher education program. He worked in the education field from
the time of his graduation from the State University of New York in 1958 until his retirement in
2009. During that time, he authored more than 30 textbooks and journal articles.
Throughout Building Community in Schools, Sergiovanni repeatedly refers to two Russian terms:
gemeinschaft (community) and gesellschaft (society). He uses these terms in order to better
describe the community building process within schools. The main theme of this book is that
every person within a school plays an important role in how effective the school can become by
building on the basic premise that a team can accomplish much more than an individual. The author
touches on how we are losing a sense of community and why this is not in the best interest of our
children. He also expounds on the importance of community building, not only in schools, but why
it is essential to our development as human beings. This book is a must read for any educator as it
gives great insight into the importance of community in education.
The book starts with a preface in which Sergiovanni builds the framework for the importance of
community in schools. Sergiovanni states that when a school has a sense of community it lifts both
teachers and students to higher levels of understanding, commitment, and performance beyond the
reaches of the shortcomings and difficulties they face in their everyday lives. Once again, this is
the basic premise for the entire book: that more can be accomplished by a team than an individual.
The beginning of the book focuses on how community loss has come about, how it is affecting our
schools, and why it is important to rebuild community.

different cases that are considered. It is important to go through the cases and recap them before
comparison. But, it is always important to deal with the cases in the best way possible because the
economic considerations from the c cases brings the best way of dealing with cases in present and
also in future. It is very important to control emotions during moments of happiness, sadness and
anger because they worsen the situation and they make things even more complicated. This is a
very important consideration. It is always advised to follow this consideration and do great at

This might have a very bad impact on the organization. It is not right of Fuller to do so without
thinking of the future and the circumstances but a slip of tongue might cost a lost. Facing the
lawsuit would be one very critical and important thing to consider. This might lead to a lot of
disturbance and chaos in the organization which could probably also lead to the downfall of the
organization. Paul should personally talk to Dean and try to explain to him what happened and
how the process worked and try to calm him down or he should offer him a position in the
organization which could make Dean happy and would prevent him from filing a lawsuit. If this
is done, Dean would not take any drastic steps and it could also make him feel better because he
already feels bad about his disability. The best fit solution would be to come up with a mutual
understanding so that both Dean and the organization are happy and nobody is affected by the
decision. This matters a lot and will play an important role in this case

Applications Of Machiavelli s The Prince
Applications of Machiavelli s The Prince, in General Electric
General Electric has had exceptional leadership that has kept the company at the top of their
business. This success is attributed to both individual efforts to spur the corporation and the
consequential results achieved collectively. GE has established the entire organization based on
creativity and innovation, as they tend to inspire the public and improve their present lifestyles.
However, this subject needs thorough discussion by distinguishing between standalone innovators
and the one who rely on others, that is, gauging the difference between the leaders who accomplish
their purposes through force or those who use persuasion (Machiavelli, p.21). This ideology of GE

He simply says that the firm was at risk of losing its market share to its competitors in more than a
few areas, mentioning that only the motors, lighting, as well as the power systems trailed at first
and second place in their corresponding markets. He also said, on the other hand, that the economy
was changing from local prominence to international recognition. Moreover, in the foreign markets,
the only part of their business that led was the gas turbine unit (Slater, p. 9).
Another characteristic desirable by a leader as displayed by most CEOs of General Electric,
according to Machiavelli, was being feared rather than loved. He reiterated that a feared leader
gains more admiration and is at the end of the day less harsh than a leader who strives to acquire
love. A feared leader like Jack Welch upheld respect by making illustrations of only a few
instances that needed intervention in the organization. On the other hand, leaders who endeavor
to receive the love and admiration constantly lose respect and tolerate communities to incline
into chaos ( murder and rapine ). As soon as such circumstances come into play, the leaders
resort to radical and universally ferocious solutions to reestablish order. Consequently, it is better
to murder a few people than to be forced to abolish an entire city. Most essentially, a feared leader
has less motive to concern himself about wrongs. Men are less expected to attack a feared leader

Framers of the Constitution
The Framers of the Constitution and the Republicanism The constitution is the supreme law of the
land. Even though it is the supreme law of the land, it is not well defined; it isn t specific on
multiple areas. Because of that, the constitution has been misjudged and miss interpreted in the
past. However, there are certain parts were the Constitution is specific. It is partially specific on
elements of the Constitution that embodies the republican principle of limited government, the
three institutions in the government that embodies the commitment of representation: the House of

This amendment expanded democratic representation widely because it gave recently free slaves
the right to vote for the people that were going to represent them. There is a catch on it though,
only males were allowed to vote according to this amendment, it didn t give woman the right to
vote.[15] This wouldn t change until later on in August 18, 1920 with the woman suffrage
amendment being passed, the nineteenth amendment gave woman the right to vote[16] . This
amendment finally gave woman the right to vote in elections. It was very important because it
gave a sense of equality between males and females; however, there is still a great imbalanced
scale between males and females. It didn t really balance things out, but it expanded democratic
representation greatly. Through the whole Constitution there are multiple passages that express
the republican principal of popular sovereignty, but not any other like the preamble. The
preamble starts by saying We the people [17] which clearly states that we the people create the
government. We the people give power to the government by letting the government govern us.
That is the meaning of popular sovereignty.[18] In the end, the Constitution is and always will be
the supreme law of the land. It is not perfect, in fact it is far from perfect, but it at least gives
order to our lives and give us a government we can live in. a government in which the republican

Cut And Chip Test Testing
Cut and Chip Test
Ohio Northern University
May, 2016 July, 2016
Background: Cut and chip is a phenomena in tires that manifests itself primarily from prolonged
off road use. As the tires are used off road, the tread compound will be cut by rocks and eventually
large pieces of the tread rubber are chipped off. Current tests involve manufacturing a series of test
tires and sending them to a test track in Texas. The tires are then run on a controlled gravel road.
Each set of tires is run for 1000 miles, 500 each day for two days. In each set of 500 miles, 100
miles are on flint rock and 400 miles are on the highway. The tires are then ranked visually by
multiple engineers to determine which rubber compounds demonstrate the best cut and chip
resistance. Thus, current testing is expensive, time intensive, and subjective. Students at Ohio
Northern University therefore built a tester that can use a lab test for tread rubber compounds.
Cooper will be able to save time and money by testing much fewer compounds with the road test.
However, although this tester is a very successful design, the cut and chip lab test using this tester
is a brand new idea that has never been done by any engineers, as we know. Therefore, a summer
intern project was created to investigate the usage of the tester and the cut and chip lab test. It
should be noted that the investigation is a proof of concept study that many trials have to be
performed to use the lab test for tread rubber compounds to

A Proposal For A New Factory
Introduction Longchamp is a French firm created in Paris in 1948, known for its luxury fashion
leather and canvas goods, such as handbags and luggage. Thanks to its expertise, Longchamp is
distributed in more than 275 stores worldwide. We would like to expand our production;
therefore we chose to open a new factory in Romania. In this report, we will explain the reasons
why we made this decision. 1)Tax costs Regarding tax costs, Romania is as a highly taxed
country, just like France. Indeed, income and capital gains earned by corporation are taxed at a
rate of 16%. More specifically, these data clearly demonstrate that Romania has payments
percentage and profit taxes higher than France. Even if Romania is more taxed than France
regarding corporate and income taxes, it is the opposite scheme for labor taxes and contributions.
This inversion is due to low labor costs. Certainly high tax costs can be a constraint to produce in
this country but we choose Romania for other reasons like the low labor cost and the proximity
with our primary market, France. 2) Legal environment Thanks to the accession to the EU and the
increasing integration in European markets, Romania s structural reform has progressed. Romania
s reform and liberalization process created large foreign exchange inflows and a positive view of
Romania s prospects. However, the judicial power is not entirely independent. It is very influenced

Use a push button for Manual override. Whenever the push button is pressed, it must allow turning
off or turning on the LED regardless of which state the CdS sensor puts the LED in. Your program
should keep track of the exact time the LED is either on or off. Must output the date and time the
LED was turned on or off.

Conclusion
The result of the experiment was a success. The C program used the BBB kernel via paths to
operate the LED as specified. The push button set the system to manual mode and turned off the
light if it was on and turned the LED on if it was off. The second push of the button switched it
back to automatic mode. The turning on and off of the LED also resulted in accurate time stamps
of the LED being on or off.
The lab was pretty simple, however, the process was a little challenging in the beginning. Unlike
the previous labs, we had to configure each pin for our desired functionality, which made it a bit
difficult. The majority time on this lab was spent on configuration of the pins, rather than writing
the code. Questions and Discussion:
What is Rmax and Rmin for your CdS sensor? What is the required resistance, R, for the other half
of the CdS voltage divider circuit?
The CdS resistance measured in full light was approx. 50 ohms. The resistance measured in a dark
lit area was approx. 350k ohms. The range

The Properties Of Soft Multi Sets
Abstract In this paper we define some properties of soft multi sets. We also define soft multi set
topology, its interior exterior, boundary and their properties. We establish several important results
in mathematical modeling of spacial objects using fuzzy soft interior, fuzzy soft exterior, fuzzy soft
boundary.
Keywords Fuzzy Sets, Soft Sets, Multi Sets, Fuzzy Topology.
I.INTRODUCTION (Heading 1)
We may have to face vagueness in most of the engineering, physics, computer sciences, economics,
social sciences, environmental science and medical sciences problems. These may be due to the
uncertainties of natural environmental phenomena, incompleteness of human knowledge about the
real world or due to the limitations of the means and methods used to take measurements. We can
see vagueness or uncertainty when we decide the boundary between the continents or between
different seas, when the growth rate of population in a country s rural area is determined or when
we make decisions using database information. In all these cases classical set theory, which is based
on crisp concept will not furnish the exact information.
The mathematical ideas like probability theory, fuzzy sets [12], rough sets [10] are well known as
effective models for dealing with such uncertainties. However, each of them has distinguished
advantages as well as certain limitations. Fuzzy sets fail to parameterize a value.
Molodtsov [7] introduced a completely new approach for modeling vagueness and

Prostitution Is The Oldest Profession
When looking into Prostitution women are usually thought to be the lowest form a part of the
human species, people make assumptions as to why a women would even bother with the idea of
subjecting herself to harsh treatment by others, people often correlate the idea of prostitution with
human trafficking. That each of these categories are of association, prostitutionis the practice or
occupation of engaging in sexual activity with someone for payment. While human traffickingis the
illegal movement of people, typically for the purposes of forced labor or commercial sexual
exploitation. Each of these subjects demonstrates different meanings but express the same sense of
ideas, which will be looked into too.
Prostitution it is the oldest profession, in fact there is evidence that the exchange of sex for
money goes back into our distant past. In a recent study chimpanzees were taught to use a
rudimentary form of money. (Puiu, 2011) They were given puzzles to solve and then received
colored discs and then they directed that in order to obtain treats they would need to exchange
their colored discs. Soon later on in the experiment the mammals exhibited more advance
behaviors and began buying and selling or trading sexual favors; it just seemed instinctive. Human
females unlike most of our close animal relatives do not go into estrus but stay sexually receptive
all the time. One reason for this is that human children require care for a long time. So, a female

As shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2, it is the most used platform around the world, while Twitter is
ranked second in the world according to Alexa. In the United Kingdom, Twitter is the second
most used platform (Cosenza, 2016). The population of the United Kingdom is 64.1 million,
with 89% of UK residents being active Internet users. The total number of social media users is
38 million, with 50% of the entire population access social media platforms via mobile phones.
Furthermore, there has been a 4% growth in the number of active Internet users and a 6% growth
in the number of active social media users. In addition, the number of users who access social
media platforms via their mobile devices has increased by 7% (Think Digital First, 2016). The
efficiency of Twitter as a social media platform has been noticeable, as it remarkably affected the
Mayoral election results than any other platform, including Facebook and Instagram. By a simple
feature offered by Twitter that can enable voters to engage with the candidate through direct
messaging, mentions and hashtags, Twitter excelled in influencing the decision of the electors by
real time interaction rather than just reading about the Candidates and their activities. As described

Essay Before Breakfast by Eugene O Neill
Before Breakfast
Before Breakfast is a short gloomy play by Eugene O Neill. Eugene O Neill was born in 1888 in
New York City. He is the only American dramatist to ever win the Nobel Prize for literature.
Before Breakfast is set in the Greenwich Village section of New York City, in a small one room
flat on Christopher Street. The flat consists of a kitchen and dinning area. There are only two
characters in this drama. Mrs. Roland who is the only speaking character and her husband Alfred.
Alfred s hand is seen once in the play, but not much else. This is symbolic of an absentee husband
or a non existent marriage. Although, Alfred is not seen, he contributes a great deal to the conflict.

Mrs. Rowland, the protagonist, is portrayed as the stereotypical nagging wife. While a flat
character, she is very realistic. Her level of diction implies her lack of education, she is also
bitter towards her husband. Her bitterness is not unfounded. Alfred is of no help, Heaven knows

she does not like the way he treats her. She exhibited love by continually enabling him, paying the

The Purpose Of Ideology
1.ideology Meaning and Philosophy
Ideology is a system of meaning that helps define and explain the world and that makes value
judgements about that world. It refers not only to the beliefs held about the world but also to the
basic ways in which the world is defined (Croteau, Hoynes, and Milan 1953). Ideology is a body of
ideas concerning economic, social and political values and goals which posit action programmes for
attaining these goals. Padelford and Lincoln

Link between ideology and media
The ideology of the media is broad and manifests in the communicativity of the media. To facilitate
ideological analysis, however, the key is the fit between the images and texts in a specific media
output, plus the manner thought and discussion on social and cultural issues. Questions, however,
arise as to how the media content (shaped by ideologies) depict real life. This begs the question of
function and ethics. The ideological analysis further attempts to answer questions about what the
media messages depict of the society and its people.
This underscores why politicians have long perceived mass media as a veritable channel of
disseminating an ideology so that the society can mirror itself against what the media feeds it and
thus be manipulated. This further begs the question of whether the media is a contributor or
otherwise to societal problems in the face of political ideological dissemination.
Furthermore, the media and ideology are interconnected in the following ways (Asemah, 2011):
i.The media serves as a channel for communication of ideologies ii. Media function requires its

Cardiovascular Training And Health And Wellbeing
Cardiovascular Training
Cardiovascular (CV) fitness or endurance is how efficient your body is at taking in oxygen and
putting it to use. The cardiovascular system is comprised of the heart, blood, and blood vessels
through which blood travels around the body. Aerobic exercise is a key element in CV training.
Aerobic simply means with oxygen , this type of activity includes things such as swimming,
dancing, walking, jogging and cycling (Bushman, 2011). Essentially aerobic activities are
exercises where large muscles are moving in a rhythmic way for a sustainable period of time (
Active Adults , 2015).
Benefits of CV Fitness
CV Fitness is an important element in overall health and wellbeing. Adults that are physically
active are healthier than those who are inactive and are less likely to develop many chronic
diseases. Those who follow the guidelines of frequency, intensity, time and type of CV fitness are
at lower risk of premature death, coronary heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and some mental
illnesses ( Active Adults , 2015). It is found that adults who exerciseregularly have hearts that
gradually adapt to the activity rates and the heart increases in strength and size thus improving
CV health. Aerobic activity aids in clearing fatty deposits from the walls of some vessels, this
slows down the process of atherosclerosis (Marieb et al., 2014). Atherosclerosis is basically an
accumulation of fatty deposits in inner linings of some arteries which blocks blood flow

Explain What Is Wrong
Ashley Kelley Miss Roth H English pd. 4 24 March 2017 Is it Right? Is it Wrong? Morals and
values are the basis of all human decisions and knowledge. Every person s morals are different
from one another and can be used to define what is right and what is wrong in their own eyes.
Values are used as a personal translator that explains another person s behavior or beliefs to a
different individual. When people focus on both morals and values that have been set by them, they
see everything with a limited view, but take in more about what they learn. People create and set

Values are acquired in childhood and manifest themselves in our campuses as permanent

that person is still developing and maturing both mentally and physically, so the values and
morals the child learns are applied to their lives and are held onto. In a world that is constantly
growing and developing, it is important for youths to hold onto morals taught to them in their

The Detroit Lions And Chicago Lions
The Detroit Lions started the 2016/2017 season on September 11th, with a close win over the
Indianapolis Colts. This game was a major back and forth battle that could ve easily been in favor
of the Indianapolis Colts but instead went to the Detroit Lions with the score of 39 to 35. This
game for sure was a great way to start the season for the Detroit Lionsand also showed the potential
that they have going into the season and because of that it raises many questions of how the
Detroit Lions are going to do in the upcoming season. In this essay I will explore the claim that the
author uses ethos, logos, and pathos to express to the audience that years after the great legend
Barry Sanders(who played for the Detroit Lions from 1989 till 1998) the Detroit Lions may once

and players to give the reader an insight on where he s coming from.

Zechariah Essay
Zechariah
Zechariah is one of the Minor Prophets of the Old Testament. His book is located between the
books of Haggai and Malachi. Zechariah is thought to have preached from about 520 518 B.C.
The book of Zechariah deals with the restoration of Jerusalem, the Temple, and God s people.
Chapter 11 verses 4 17, which is a story of two shepherds, is one of the most difficult passages in
the Old Testament to understand. From the New Living Translation, the passage reads as follows:
4 This is what the LORD my God says: quot;Go and care for a flock that is intended for slaughter.

is certain for this worthless shepherd who abandons the flock! The sword will cut his arm and
pierce his right eye! His arm will become useless, and his right eye completely blind! quot; The
commentary Obadiah through Malachi begins by commenting on the ambiguous nature of the
passage. This vague language makes it very difficult to interpret; thus the details remain elusive.
The author feels that this passage goes in accordance with the earlier situation described in
Zechariah 10:3. In both passages it is made clear that the leaders (shepherds) of Israel have made
the Lord angry. Zechariah is describing the social disorder and the peoples dishonesty toward each
other that has overwhelmed the community before it will be restored by God. This commentary is
certain that the doomed flock is in fact Israel, but is unsure whom the sheep merchants represent.
Their guess is that they may be the workers in the temple who have hired Zechariah. The shepherd
is understood as symbolizing a ruling, most likely a prophetic one. Zechariah is telling his
audience that Israel is in total disarray and the leaders aren t doing anything to help, in fact some
are making the situation worse. God is permitting the corruption by sitting on His hands. While
doing so, he stresses the need for repentance so the corrupt community may be restored. The prophet

Self Driving Cars Essay
About 10 years ago, self driving cars were seen in movies that took place 50 years in the future,
but today, the self driving car is very close to becoming a reality that we will see in our streets.
Self driving cars or autonomous vehicles are already on the road in pilot programs and so far are
seen as capable of driving alongside humans with no difficulties. While you may thing that these
cars will be rare, Google has started a frenzy in the technology world and it is being followed by
company after company progressing their own autonomous vehicle. Most companies are making
these cars with the idea in mind of sometimes it is nice to drive and therefore are making car which

Classroom Management And Disciplinary Response Paper
Classroom Management Disciplinary Response Paper Owing to my acculturation as a citizen of
an autocratic society, I have been programed, by default, to uphold the traditionalist view of
education. For behavioral management, most classrooms in my home country Nigeria use
consequence to enforce order in the classroom. Furthermore, the relationship between the
teacher and students is top down. Thus every student is expected to obey before complain. As a
budding educationist who has seen the best of the two worlds (traditional and progressive,
explicit directives versus collaborative problem solving) due to my background in Nigeria and
experience as a preservice teacher in New York , I see myself at a crossroad concerning what
identity I should take up as an educator. Nevertheless, until I see the need to redefine my identity
in our constantly changing world, I will refer to myself as a quasi traditional and progressive
educator. I strongly believe that freedom is advantageous when working pari passu with discipline
and order thus none should be sacrificed for the other. As a result of my aforementioned philosophy,
discussed below, are some classroom practices, structures, procedures and routines that I intend to
use in my future classrooms. Classroom management Assigning weekly class jobs to all students:
This is a practical way of teaching how to share responsibilities as members of a human community.

Analysis Of The Poem My Papa s Waltz By Theodore Roethke
My Papa s Waltz by Theodore Roethke is an intriguing poem because of its ambiguity. One could
see this as a poem about a child having a playful dance with his dad before bedtime but I see it as a
poem about a child being abused by his father because he is an alcoholic. A dance is supposed to
symbolize an expression of joyful spirituality and love especially the waltz. Specifically, the title
may give the impression that this dance between father and son is a smooth romantic dance but
some words and phrases bring an entirely difference image to the mind.
The first stanza sets the tone for the seriousness of the poem. The whiskey on your breath
(Roethke, 1) already sets the tone for the rest of the poem. The boy who has grown up to
remember this experience with his father is putting emphasis on the fact that his father may
have been a drunk. He remembers his dad s breath smelling like alcohol and this plays a major
role in the entire experience itself. The speaker then goes on to say, Could make a small boy
dizzy (2) which tells me that the smell of alcohol on his breath was so strong it made him feel
lightheaded and woozy. The father must have been drinking heavily and the fact that it made
him sick tells the reader that he may not have just gone out for an occasional drink. However,
even though the boy felt sick he still held on to his father closely, But I hung on like death (3)
implying he was so scared all he could do was hang on to his father. His father s

Example Of Doublethink
This is a clip which shows a compilation of multiple different news outlets repeating or saying the
same phrase. A media conglomerate called Sinclaire and they started buying local news
organizations. What occurred which is shown in this video is that they give forced memos that
they have to read verbatim to all of the news outlets they own. The issue here is that when people
watch the news, they do not know that the anchors are forced to say this. When they watch the
news, they have no reason to doubt their trusted news source. This video illustrates the concept of
doublethink. Doublethink is where one believes or accepts contrary beliefs at the same time. The
process has to be conscious, or it would have insufficient precision, but it also

Open Carry On Campus Essay
Open Carry on Campus: Good or Bad?
Many students and faculty members fear that allowing weapons on campus may cause tension
and hostility or even cause minor situations to rapidly escalate. Others feel as if open carry on
campus is missing link to reducing the number of school shootings across the country. When it
comes to allowing firearms on campus, some of the most important factors to consider are: how
active shooter situations will be handled, why it is important to be on alert, and should first
responders be the only one responsible campus safety. These are the factors that ultimately decided
whether students and faculty will end up as victims or heroes in a state of crisis.
If students and faculty members are armed when an active shooter ... Show more content on

Sitting through an hour long lecture or waiting in line to speak with financial aid are some
examples of an average day on campus. It is during these times when students are least expecting
tragedy to strike. A student may hear a loud noise and think nothing of it until they realize that
noise was the sound of a shooting rampage that has reached their area and by that time it s usually
too late. Campus safety is everyone s responsibility and remaining on alert is the only way to
ensure less people are victimized. One of the first, and most memorable, attacks happened on
August 1, 1966. Charles Whitman, a former marine, took rifles and other weapons to the
observation deck atop the Main Building tower at The University of Texas Austin, then randomly
opened fire on the surrounding campus and streets. Over the next 96 minutes, far longer than the
average active shooter attack, he shot and killed fifteen people. Included in the death toll was one
unborn child, and injured thirty one others. The incident ended when police reached Whitman and
shot him dead. During this event, civilians played a vital role in assisting first responders in the
take down of Whitman and Allen Crum, a 40 year old bookstore manager and retired Air Force tail
gunner, accompanied police up the tower in pursuit of Whitman. While Crum was armed, it solely
because officers handed him a firearm to assist in Whitman s take down.

St. James Hospital Department Of Human Resources
Franciscan St. James Hospital Department of Human Resources Most organizations view human
resources departments as less valuable than other departments because it s not a revenue generating
department. However, it is quite the opposite because HR brings the organization its most valuable
assets, which are its people.
Since its birth in November of 1911, Franciscan St. James (Franciscan) has evolved tremendously.
Over the years, it has expanded from a 50 bed acute hospital into one with two campus locations
including Chicago Heights and Olympia Fields, IL (Franciscan Alliance Inc., 2015). Rich in both
religion and compassion, Franciscan is built on strong ethics and morals. Its mission is to continue

Additionally, several services for women and children are delivered along with emergency,
diagnostic, outpatient therapy, home health, ambulance and EMS, and family care, as well as
durable medical equipment (Franciscan Alliance, 2015). The services offered vary between in
patient and out patient depending on the services rendered. The hospital emergency room services
operate 24 hours 7 days per week. However, the human resources department has standard business
operation hours of 8 a.m. 5:00 p.m. (Irons, 2015).
The professionals who occupy positions within St. James and are trusted to carry out the mission

Accreditations and Credentials The HR department ensures that the various departments within the
hospital are current with all laws, regulations, accreditations, and policies. There are a number of
credentials necessary in order for St. James to function. The hospital is accredited by the American
Osteopathic Association/Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program and is the first in the area to

Declaration Of Independence Events
Multiple events surrounding the Declaration of Independence, have influenced many to help

Author of the Declaration of Independence Thomas Jefferson was a leading figure, in America s

Wang Luhn
Wang Lung is very old now and is always sick. He is like the old man in the beginning of eh
book because he is always on the bed, lying around without anything to worry about. Pear
Blossom gets him food and drinks whenever he needs to eat, and he also walks to the land
everyday and sees his land being good. However, one time he realizes that soon he is going to
die and that he won t be able to survive long enough. That is when the eldest son comes to him,
and sees his condition which is getting worse day by day. His eldest son buys a coffin for his
father. Wang Lugn also decides upon his will as when he talks to Pear Blossom and the issues that
are going on in his family, he says that all the money he owns needs to be divided into sections...

This assumption could be made because of what was described in the end of the chapter, which
was that the sons had a smile of their face while they were looking at one another This shows
that the sons had already made their decision of selling the land before Wang Lung could have
said something before he dies. The reason I think that they agreed with him was because of their
culture, as they just wanted to assure their father that his last wish will be fulfilled, when in
reality they will never let that happen. Not since the eldest son now has a large family to take
care of and the younger son has a business in the market they probably would be too selfish to
take care of his father s last wish as now they will need a way to take care of their huge extended
family with 11 sons and 8 daughter without working day and night like their father. They will
probably go to the south, as how the eldest son always wanted to, and the younger son will also
agree to that as if the family moves there they will not only have profit in the business, but a
better life style. Since both the households of both the sons large, and they would probably hire
someone to work on the land or even have their own children work on the land if needed. Also
because Wang Lung did not finally die in this book, and he will die in the future he

How Does Shakespeare Use Similes In Hamlet s Soliloquy

Comparison Of Cathy And Abra In John Steinbeck s East Of Eden
The personalities of the two most influential women in John Steinbeck s novel East of Eden,
Cathy and Abra, are complex. One is evil, and the other is good. Despite their different
personalities, they are surprisingly similar. Moreover, the women s involvement in the story
portrays the cycle of good conquering evil. Steinbeck describes Cathy as the Eve of the Trask
family and depicts her as serpentlike and catlike. Her sly and calculated personality prevents her
from completing a task without precise and careful planning. Therefore, when Cathy, a being who
lacks a certain aspect of humanity, initially meets Adam Trask, she sees a weak, motherless, puppy
like man she can easily manipulate. She acts under the false pretense of what Adam longed for the
most: motherly care. However, to many readers and characters, Cathy seems... Show more content

When Abra first meets Aron and Cal, she sees two lost children and teases them. Like Adam, the
two boys found, their first experience with the inexorable logic of women [to be] exciting and

to Cathy) Abra is kind, motherly, gentle, and loving. Similar to Adam, Aron had no motherly
guidance as a child, causing both of them to rely on their partners for motherly warmth. Abra
provided this to Aron while Adam longed for it. Similar to Cathy, Abra was originally wary of
the other brother. Caleb Cal Trask is like a replica of Cathy and Charles. Manipulative and unloved
like Charles, his brother, Aron, gets all of the love and attention. As a result, Cal became cold, [he]
concealed his ingenuity [and] his hurts...[therefore] he was regarded as thick skinned and
insensitive even cruel (422). One example of his manipulative and cruel behavior, when he killed

Formally Analyse The Difference Between Architects Le Corbusier And Laurie Baker In Conjunction With The Required Readings. Jason Mikha Student Number: 27004791 Art and design theory C December 2015 This essay will discuss the differences between the two architects, Le Corbusier and Laurie Baker and how concerns such as sustainability and climate change relates to contemporary visual culture. Le Corbusier was born in Switzerland on October 6th, 1887 and died in France on August 27th, 1965. Corbusier was known for his minimalist designs and theoretical implementations to his designs. Corbusier uses what he titles it to be the five points of a new architecture and in these points, it is clear to see that Corbusier prioritises aesthetics over function. Laurie Baker was born in England on March 2nd, 1917 and died in India on April 1st, 2007. Baker looked at both technical and aesthetic qualities equally and did not prioritise in one. Baker constantly considers the way to provide an eco friendly way to produce something whereas Corbusier s designs involved heavy machinery which produces negative contributions to the environment. This essay mainly use the recourses, Architecture of rural housing: some issues in India by Romi Khosla, Le Corbusier s Ruins: The Changing Face of Chandigarh s Capitol by Vinayak Bharne, and A contemporary city by Le Corbusier. Evaluation Of A Central Security Management System Essay 4.1.3ENDPOINT ATTACK RESPONSE When an endpoint is attacked, it should defend itself, report the attack and reconfigure itself to thwart the attack based on policy. • 6. Informed Consent For The Pediatric Population Informed consent is the process by which patients are informed of the possible outcomes, alternatives, and risks of treatments and are required to give their consent freely (Burkhardt Nathaniel, 2013, p. 528). Informed consent is a right given to the patient that provides an opportunity for the patient to actively participate in their own healthcare. But when it comes to the pediatric population, children are not guaranteed this right. While children are often allowed to voice their opinions during the informed consent process, this does not assure that the parents and healthcare professionals will take the children s opinions into consideration. Parents are held accountable to provide the legal informed consent for their children and this can raise ethical and legal issues for nurses when they act as the patient advocates for the children in their care. This begs the question, are children capable of participating in the decision making process of their own informed consent? According to the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurse, as stated in Provision 1.4, Patients have the right to decide what is to be done with and to their own person and part of that right involves the right to have the information and facts necessary to make an intelligent and enlightened decision regarding health care decision making. Patients have the right to assistance in weighing the benefits and risks of treatment or the refusal of treatment without any inflection of the morals, values, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Pros And Cons Of Academic Dishonesty McCabe has said that an estimated seventy percent of college students have admitted to some type of cheating. He supports this claim by saying that the parties to blame here is the school system and the media. HBU defines academic dishonesty to when a student cheats or steals someone s work and passes it as their own among these are a list of actions that count for academic dishonesty. Some examples being brought up about dishonesty is how in the NFL saw past the deflating incident in the Super Bowl were it seems like the media praised the player for his actions (Loschiavo). Therefor, students think it is correct to do be dishonest in their class work. The article talks about how the way the school system is set up students are not able to fully write a complete a research paper. Most of the time an act like this is impulsive, something that is done without thinking. It is said that teachers are basically taking a short cut by teaching their student the concept of paraphrasing what they read instead of teaching them how to properly put things in a context they can explain themselves. The research was done by a Dean who dealt with student dishonesty for over sixteen years, but yet each student is has different reasons for their acts. McCabe himself says in the article that cheating can be one of many things such as a cry for help to just not knowing how to properly cite their resources. It utilizes diverse mathematic algorithms to locate the right information as well as foresee the probability of future events. Some key properties that I learned in this topic are: discovery of useful patterns predictions of their future outcomes analysis on larger datasets useful data from them With increasing data the storage of the data must also be increased, which is a problem. So, data is stored or recorded in the form of computer data bases which makes easy to access the right data at any given point of time. To extract the right data from all these present volumes of data, usually certain traditional way of data analysis like regression analysis, cluster analysis, numerical taxonomy, multi dimensional analysis, time series analysis , estimation outcome analysis and many more are used. Both data mining and data analysis are a subset of Business Intelligence which also includes data management systems, data warehouses and Online analytic processing(OLAP). • 10. Romantic Love Definition Essay Throughout the world, there are numerous ways to express and show love to the ones we care about. However, what does love truly mean? There are numerous forms of love, but how can you define romantic love? People tend to agree and disagree about the definition of this type of love, and cannot come to a concise conclusion of what it means. Erich Fromm states that mature love includes: care, responsibility, respect, and knowledge. As I have interviewed people of different ages and marital status, I found that everyone who I had interviewed had a similar idea to what romantic love is. Nevertheless, those who have been married for over twenty years seemed to have a deeper knowledge of what love is than those who are young and single. Although... On the other hand, when I asked my male eighteen year old friend what love is, he said that love is the feeling of care towards someone. Although the answers were similar, the content within their answers were different. My grandpa seemed to have an extensive comprehension of what love is, while my young male friend did not have that knowledge of what love truly is and what it can be. Atrocities in Stafford s Traveling Through the Dark Essays Atrocities in Stafford s Traveling Through the Dark Is a drive just a drive, or is it a metaphor that imparts appreciation for life s fragility while simultaneously lamenting man s inability to appropriately confront, or understand, death? William Stafford s Traveling Through the Dark illustrates the mechanisms by which seemingly mundane events become probes into the mystery and ambiguity of the human condition. The poem s situation is simple, a lone traveler driving along a desolate canyon road spots a felled deer; the traveler, desiring neither to hit the deer, nor by swerving to avoid it, hurtle his car over the canyon precipice, stops his vehicle and proceeds to push the fallen animal over the canyon face, ... Swerving, deviating from the path he knows he must follow, might have cost him his life on the road; his swerving here is of a different nature, mental or emotional, yet its result is still death. The poem s language emphasizes the inevitability and finality of the traveler s confrontation. Alliterated d consonant sounds, as in death , pervade poem s first and second stanzas: dark , deer , dead , doe , even stiffened and cold . These words evoke feelings of deliberate doom that transcend their literal definitions and thud with terminal authority. Contrastingly, the repetition of the Ocirc; vowel sound in the third stanza (warm and born) creates an atmosphere as inviting and secure as a womb. The poem s language also gives rise to specific images. The deer s description, ...stood by the heap...a recent killing; / she had stiffened already, almost cold (3 4), paints a somber picture of death. Words like heap , stiffened , and cold contribute to the impression of lifelessness. However, language is also used to impart vitality. The traveler s

This was the result of the orthodox socialist and communist policies implemented largely during the Cultural Revolution. Also in 1978 the population of China living in a rural situation was at least 76.3% (Reuters) of the total Chinese population, equivalent to around 743,463,800 people living in China. • 17. Importance Of Building Community In Schools Organizations tend to face many unique challenges. One of these challenges, especially in schools, is building a sense of community. Thomas J. Sergiovanni s Building Community in Schools, first published in 1994, asserts that in order for schools to improve in any and all aspects of the school environment, the schoolshould first place an emphasis on community building. Sergiovanni was a professor of educationat Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas where he taught in the school leadership program and in the teacher education program. He worked in the education field from the time of his graduation from the State University of New York in 1958 until his retirement in 2009. During that time, he authored more than 30 textbooks and journal articles. Throughout Building Community in Schools, Sergiovanni repeatedly refers to two Russian terms: gemeinschaft (community) and gesellschaft (society). He uses these terms in order to better describe the community building process within schools. The main theme of this book is that every person within a school plays an important role in how effective the school can become by building on the basic premise that a team can accomplish much more than an individual. The author touches on how we are losing a sense of community and why this is not in the best interest of our children. He also expounds on the importance of community building, not only in schools, but why it is essential to our development as human beings. This book is a must read for any educator as it gives great insight into the importance of community in education. The book starts with a preface in which Sergiovanni builds the framework for the importance of community in schools. Sergiovanni states that when a school has a sense of community it lifts both teachers and students to higher levels of understanding, commitment, and performance beyond the reaches of the shortcomings and difficulties they face in their everyday lives. Once again, this is the basic premise for the entire book: that more can be accomplished by a team than an individual. The beginning of the book focuses on how community loss has come about, how it is affecting our schools, and why it is important to rebuild community. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Moreover, in the foreign markets, the only part of their business that led was the gas turbine unit (Slater, p. 9). He reiterated that a feared leader gains more admiration and is at the end of the day less harsh than a leader who strives to acquire love. A feared leader like Jack Welch upheld respect by making illustrations of only a few instances that needed intervention in the organization. On the other hand, leaders who endeavor to receive the love and admiration constantly lose respect and tolerate communities to incline into chaos ( murder and rapine ). • 21. Cut And Chip Test Testing Cut and Chip Test Ohio Northern University May, 2016 July, 2016 Background: Cut and chip is a phenomena in tires that manifests itself primarily from prolonged off road use. As the tires are used off road, the tread compound will be cut by rocks and eventually large pieces of the tread rubber are chipped off. Current tests involve manufacturing a series of test tires and sending them to a test track in Texas. The tires are then run on a controlled gravel road. Each set of tires is run for 1000 miles, 500 each day for two days. In each set of 500 miles, 100 miles are on flint rock and 400 miles are on the highway. The tires are then ranked visually by multiple engineers to determine which rubber compounds demonstrate the best cut and chip resistance. Thus, current testing is expensive, time intensive, and subjective. Students at Ohio Northern University therefore built a tester that can use a lab test for tread rubber compounds. Cooper will be able to save time and money by testing much fewer compounds with the road test. Thanks to its expertise, Longchamp is distributed in more than 275 stores worldwide. We would like to expand our production; therefore we chose to open a new factory in Romania. In this report, we will explain the reasons why we made this decision. 1)Tax costs Regarding tax costs, Romania is as a highly taxed country, just like France. Indeed, income and capital gains earned by corporation are taxed at a rate of 16%. More specifically, these data clearly demonstrate that Romania has payments percentage and profit taxes higher than France. Even if Romania is more taxed than France regarding corporate and income taxes, it is the opposite scheme for labor taxes and contributions. This inversion is due to low labor costs. Certainly high tax costs can be a constraint to produce in this country but we choose Romania for other reasons like the low labor cost and the proximity with our primary market, France. 2) Legal environment Thanks to the accession to the EU and the increasing integration in European markets, Romania s structural reform has progressed. Romania s reform and liberalization process created large foreign exchange inflows and a positive view of Romania s prospects. However, the judicial power is not entirely independent. It is very influenced by the executive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Lab Setup: Figure 1: Lab Setup Conclusion The result of the experiment was a success. The C program used the BBB kernel via paths to operate the LED as specified. The push button set the system to manual mode and turned off the light if it was on and turned the LED on if it was off. The second push of the button switched it back to automatic mode. The turning on and off of the LED also resulted in accurate time stamps of the LED being on or off. The lab was pretty simple, however, the process was a little challenging in the beginning. Unlike the previous labs, we had to configure each pin for our desired functionality, which made it a bit difficult. The majority time on this lab was spent on configuration of the pins, rather than writing the code. Questions and Discussion: What is Rmax and Rmin for your CdS sensor? We also define soft multi set topology, its interior exterior, boundary and their properties. We establish several important results in mathematical modeling of spacial objects using fuzzy soft interior, fuzzy soft exterior, fuzzy soft boundary. Keywords Fuzzy Sets, Soft Sets, Multi Sets, Fuzzy Topology. I.INTRODUCTION (Heading 1) We may have to face vagueness in most of the engineering, physics, computer sciences, economics, social sciences, environmental science and medical sciences problems. These may be due to the uncertainties of natural environmental phenomena, incompleteness of human knowledge about the real world or due to the limitations of the means and methods used to take measurements. We can see vagueness or uncertainty when we decide the boundary between the continents or between different seas, when the growth rate of population in a country s rural area is determined or when we make decisions using database information. In all these cases classical set theory, which is based on crisp concept will not furnish the exact information. The mathematical ideas like probability theory, fuzzy sets [12], rough sets [10] are well known as effective models for dealing with such uncertainties. However, each of them has distinguished advantages as well as certain limitations. Fuzzy sets fail to parameterize a value. Molodtsov [7] introduced a completely new approach for modeling vagueness and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In a recent study chimpanzees were taught to use a rudimentary form of money. Soon later on in the experiment the mammals exhibited more advance behaviors and began buying and selling or trading sexual favors; it just seemed instinctive. Chapter 11 verses 4 17, which is a story of two shepherds, is one of the most difficult passages in the Old Testament to understand. From the New Living Translation, the passage reads as follows: 4 This is what the LORD my God says: quot;Go and care for a flock that is intended for slaughter. 5 The buyers will slaughter their sheep without remorse. The sword will cut his arm and pierce his right eye! His arm will become useless, and his right eye completely blind! quot; The commentary Obadiah through Malachi begins by commenting on the ambiguous nature of the passage. This vague language makes it very difficult to interpret; thus the details remain elusive. The author feels that this passage goes in accordance with the earlier situation described in Zechariah 10:3. In both passages it is made clear that the leaders (shepherds) of Israel have made the Lord angry. Zechariah is describing the social disorder and the peoples dishonesty toward each other that has overwhelmed the community before it will be restored by God. This commentary is certain that the doomed flock is in fact Israel, but is unsure whom the sheep merchants represent. Their guess is that they may be the workers in the temple who have hired Zechariah. The shepherd is understood as symbolizing a ruling, most likely a prophetic one. Zechariah is telling his audience that Israel is in total disarray and the leaders aren t doing anything to help, in fact some are making the situation worse. God is permitting the corruption by sitting on His hands. While doing so, he stresses the need for repentance so the corrupt community may be restored. The prophet ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. Classroom Management And Disciplinary Response Paper Classroom Management Disciplinary Response Paper Owing to my acculturation as a citizen of an autocratic society, I have been programed, by default, to uphold the traditionalist view of education. For behavioral management, most classrooms in my home country Nigeria use consequence to enforce order in the classroom. Furthermore, the relationship between the teacher and students is top down. Thus every student is expected to obey before complain. As a budding educationist who has seen the best of the two worlds (traditional and progressive, explicit directives versus collaborative problem solving) due to my background in Nigeria and experience as a preservice teacher in New York , I see myself at a crossroad concerning what identity I should take up as an educator. Nevertheless, until I see the need to redefine my identity in our constantly changing world, I will refer to myself as a quasi traditional and progressive educator. I strongly believe that freedom is advantageous when working pari passu with discipline and order thus none should be sacrificed for the other. As a result of my aforementioned philosophy, discussed below, are some classroom practices, structures, procedures and routines that I intend to use in my future classrooms. • 47. Analysis Of The Poem My Papa s Waltz By Theodore Roethke My Papa s Waltz by Theodore Roethke is an intriguing poem because of its ambiguity. One could see this as a poem about a child having a playful dance with his dad before bedtime but I see it as a poem about a child being abused by his father because he is an alcoholic. A dance is supposed to symbolize an expression of joyful spirituality and love especially the waltz. Specifically, the title may give the impression that this dance between father and son is a smooth romantic dance but some words and phrases bring an entirely difference image to the mind. The first stanza sets the tone for the seriousness of the poem. The whiskey on your breath (Roethke, 1) already sets the tone for the rest of the poem. The boy who has grown up to remember this experience with his father is putting emphasis on the fact that his father may have been a drunk. He remembers his dad s breath smelling like alcohol and this plays a major role in the entire experience itself. The speaker then goes on to say, Could make a small boy dizzy (2) which tells me that the smell of alcohol on his breath was so strong it made him feel lightheaded and woozy. The father must have been drinking heavily and the fact that it made him sick tells the reader that he may not have just gone out for an occasional drink. However, even though the boy felt sick he still held on to his father closely, But I hung on like death (3) implying he was so scared all he could do was hang on to his father. His father s ... Many students and faculty members fear that allowing weapons on campus may cause tension and hostility or even cause minor situations to rapidly escalate. Others feel as if open carry on campus is missing link to reducing the number of school shootings across the country. When it comes to allowing firearms on campus, some of the most important factors to consider are: how active shooter situations will be handled, why it is important to be on alert, and should first responders be the only one responsible campus safety. These are the factors that ultimately decided whether students and faculty will end up as victims or heroes in a state of crisis. If students and faculty members are armed when an active shooter ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sitting through an hour long lecture or waiting in line to speak with financial aid are some examples of an average day on campus. It is during these times when students are least expecting tragedy to strike. A student may hear a loud noise and think nothing of it until they realize that noise was the sound of a shooting rampage that has reached their area and by that time it s usually too late. Campus safety is everyone s responsibility and remaining on alert is the only way to ensure less people are victimized. One of the first, and most memorable, attacks happened on August 1, 1966. Charles Whitman, a former marine, took rifles and other weapons to the observation deck atop the Main Building tower at The University of Texas Austin, then randomly opened fire on the surrounding campus and streets. Over the next 96 minutes, far longer than the average active shooter attack, he shot and killed fifteen people. Included in the death toll was one unborn child, and injured thirty one others. The incident ended when police reached Whitman and shot him dead. During this event, civilians played a vital role in assisting first responders in the take down of Whitman and Allen Crum, a 40 year old bookstore manager and retired Air Force tail gunner, accompanied police up the tower in pursuit of Whitman. However, one time he realizes that soon he is going to die and that he won t be able to survive long enough. That is when the eldest son comes to him, and sees his condition which is getting worse day by day. His eldest son buys a coffin for his father. This assumption could be made because of what was described in the end of the chapter, which was that the sons had a smile of their face while they were looking at one another This shows that the sons had already made their decision of selling the land before Wang Lung could have said something before he dies. The reason I think that they agreed with him was because of their culture, as they just wanted to assure their father that his last wish will be fulfilled, when in reality they will never let that happen. Not since the eldest son now has a large family to take care of and the younger son has a business in the market they probably would be too selfish to take care of his father s last wish as now they will need a way to take care of their huge extended family with 11 sons and 8 daughter without working day and night like their father. They will probably go to the south, as how the eldest son always wanted to, and the younger son will also agree to that as if the family moves there they will not only have profit in the business, but a better life style. One is evil, and the other is good. Despite their different personalities, they are surprisingly similar. Moreover, the women s involvement in the story portrays the cycle of good conquering evil. Steinbeck describes Cathy as the Eve of the Trask family and depicts her as serpentlike and catlike. Her sly and calculated personality prevents her from completing a task without precise and careful planning. Therefore, when Cathy, a being who lacks a certain aspect of humanity, initially meets Adam Trask, she sees a weak, motherless, puppy like man she can easily manipulate.
