Shakespeare Uses Manipulation, Lies, And Deceit
Shakespeare Uses Manipulation, Lies, and Deceit Many people believe lying is just a bad habit,
but that is not true. Lying is a part of human nature, no matter if it is a big or small lie, everyone
has lied before ( Lying: Bad Habit Or Human Nature? ). Everyone has different reasons for
deceiving others, but that does not change the fact that everyone has lied at some point. Human
nature keeps the world from achieving complete perfection, and Shakespeare allows this idea to be
the foundation that his plays build off of. The human nature of deceptionis found as a common
theme in Shakespeare s Hamletand Much Ado About Nothing. Shakespeare uses these plays to
communicate to his audiences that sometimes in order to find the truth you have to use trickery
and manipulation; thus creating the idea that deception can be evil or harmless depending on the
circumstances and the intentions of those who are trying to decieve. Hamlet elucidates the dangers
that deception can provoke in relationships and shows the consequences of lying. Shakespeare
shows his tangled opinions about deception throughout Much Ado About Nothing by using
manipulation to help benefit others and destroy relationships; this allows Shakespeare to further
show his idea that deception can be used for good and evil. One of Shakespeare s main themes
that is seen throughout many of his plays is deception; this brings more dramatic components to
the audience. Hamlet is a play that is solely created around a world

Aristotelian Influence Durrenmatt
However, the most important Aristotelian influence Durrenmatt is arguably the chorus. The
chorus is the melody and song element of Aristotelian tragedies. A chorus is a group of people
who are homogenized and are non individualized that comment and react as one to the action of
the play in order to help the audience follow the play. The chorus also typically comments on the
moral issue in the play, for example in The Visit comments on the moral issue of if justice can be
bought as well as provide insight into the play. Typically in Greek tragedies there would only be a
few actors who would play several parts and the chorus would consist of a large number of people.
In The Visit the chorus consists of the first man, the second man, the third... Show more content on

In Europe. Man Four: Goethe spent a night here. In the Golden Apostle. Man Three: Brahms

that GГјllen was always a poor town and never meant anything to the world. However with this
insight allows the reader to truly understand why the town needed and wanted the money so
badly that they were willing to kill the town s one most beloved man, Ill. In Act II and III
however, is when the chorus begins to play the role of embodying themes. In Act II, the chorus is
showing how the townspeople have slowly been bought and are turning against Ill. This is
particularly evident when the townspeople are buying lavish items from Ill s store. The two
women: charge it , (Durrenmatt 40). With the townspeople buying the more expensive items, Ill is
realizing that they are all just waiting for somebody to kill him. This is even more prevalent at the
end of the act when the townspeople surround Ill at the train station reassuring Ill that nobody is
trying to kill him, yet they all followed him

Boo Radley Lessons
To kill A Mockingbird, the title itself is a literal sense, a mockingbird is one of the few birds that
does not bring harm or foul to any creature or crop but is a good natured creature. Harper Lee
introduces many lessons throughout the book and goes deep in the children s minds during the
time period they live in. The south in the 1930s is of course very racially driven, Harper Lee
explores what it is like as a child to grow up and through their innocent minds, the book explores
their thoughts and feelings. As for children, adults are represented and their attitude towards race
and status which truly creates a sophisticated piece of literature in thee end. In the beginning we

Recruiting Potential Job Candidates Is A Process
Recruiting potential job candidates is a process that all nurse managers will have to be familiar
with. Recruiting processes vary from organization to organization and takes time and skill to
ultimately select the best possible candidates for both the unit and the organization as a whole.
The purpose of this paper is to share and describe the selection process that my organization uses
as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of the process in use.
Selection Process in my Organization Recruitment is simply consists of attracting, interviewing, and
hiring new employees (Mayhew, n.d.). Finding potential employees can happen from within the
facility, known as internal recruiting, or from outside the facility, known as external recruiting...

Recruitment of competent RN staff will ensure safe patient care (Markey, 2012). It is important to
fully evaluate each candidate and not rush to fill the position.
Current Recruitment Process The facility I work in has a posting and selection policy that we
follow in order to ensure that candidates are fairly identified and considered for employment,
promotion, or transfer opportunities. This applies for both internal and external candidates. The
first step is for the nurse manager to make a request from upper management the need to post an
opening. Upon receiving approval, the nurse manager then decides whether to post approved open
positions within the department for three (3) calendar days or to post within the organization for
seven (7) calendar days. Appropriate approvals authorize recruitment activity for up to six (6)
months.
Internal Recruitment and Selection Process If posted within the department, applicants submit an
Internal Application form directly to the hiring manager within the three days the position is posted
within the department. If posted within the department and there are no qualified applicants, the
Position Request form is submitted to Human Resources and the position is posted organization
wide for four (4) calendar days. Applicants for positions posted organization wide submit an online
application. This form will be sent directly to the Employment Specialist for

Occupational Therapy Personal Statement
OTCAS Personal Statement
There is an anonymous quote I often encounter which states, Find three hobbies you love: one to
make you money, one to keep you in shape, and one to be creative. I believe that people can have
many hobbies and passions in life, but there are few things that constitute what our purpose is. I
feel that when we can combine our passions into a career that also has a positive impact on
humanity, we have found our purpose.
I am not going to tell you that it has always been my dream to become an occupational therapist.
For most of my school years, I did not know what profession I wanted to pursue. I did know,
however, that I desired to work in healthcare because of my personal experience with my family s
injuries/diseases, as well as my interests in how the body functions and heals. For a while, I was
adjudicating between becoming an occupational therapist or a physical therapist because the two
professions are quite similar. After much contemplation, I realized that my high attention to detail,
personality, and my passions for science, art, and the mind made occupational therapy the career I
wanted to strive towards. When I asked myself what my purpose was, I discerned that I did not

had surgery, and I helped her do interactive activities to aid in adjusting to her vision. I thoroughly

Symbolism in Fairytales Essay
Symbolism in Fairytales Fairytales are as ancient as communal living. However, the symbolism
of fairytales is very controversial. In the case of Cinderella, I believe that it symbolizes the role
of women in society and the characteristics that women should have. In Bruno Bettelheim s
article Cinderella: A Story of Sibling Rivalry and Oedipal Conflicts, he depicts the fairytale as a
case of sibling rivalry. Feminist Madonna Kolbenschlag, says in her article A Feminist View of
`Cinderella, that the fairytale represents women s role in society. Karol Kelley s article A Modern
Cinderella, also claims that the fairytale describes the women s role in society and their
characteristics. The topics discussed by the authors are the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Is slipper is a symbol of sexual bondage and imprisonment in a stereotype (Kolbenschlag 527).
Secondly, the meaning of Cinderella s work I think, is demeaning to her, and again it represents
the traditional role of women to take care of the housework. Cinderella stays at home doing the
housework is a traditional feminine role, but is dirty, physically demanding, and demeaning
(Kelley 89). Bettelheim believes that the work is symbolic to children and the reasons they do
work. As long as you work hard you will be rewarded (570). This is an interesting point, but I
think the dirty and physically demanding housework may also show a distinction in social class.
The Prince, being a man, obviously doesn t clean floors or cook. He holds the highest level in
society at that time. Third is the significance of the ashes. I believe that Cinderella s home among
the ashes is a direct correlation with the virtues that the hearth symbolizes. Kolbenschlag describes
the hearth as a place of purity, innocence, nurturance, docility, and empathy (525). These virtues
coincide with the virtues of Cinderella, a model for women. Bettelheim sees the ashes as another
symbol of degradation and sibling rivalry. Living in ashes is more debasement (568 9). In my
opinion, this also is true. Living in ashes is dirty and demeaning; however, when analyzing a
fairytale, symbolism is of the utmost importance. Therefore, one can conclude that Cinderella
posses the same

Synthetic Dye Research Paper
Look down at your lap.
Are you wearing jeans?
Even if you re still in sweatpants, I m willing to bet you ve got a few pairs of denim nearby, right?
With so many jeans walking around today, it s easy to forget that their classic indigo color is
actually rare in nature. And while modern synthetic dyes have made this deep blue a common color,
it wasn t always so.
In fact, for centuries, in part because of its rarity, people across cultures and religions went totally
bonkers for indigo.
Demand for the color sparked trade wars, fueled Trans Atlantic slavery, and for a time the dye was
actually used as straight up currency.
The indigo craze probably even influenced Newton s original color wheel, even though most color
specialists no longer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eventually the liquid was drained, mixed with lye, molded into cakes, dried, and pounded into
powder.
Dyers could then mix that powder with water and other substances in soaking vats to get the exact
purpley blue shade they wanted.
India probably cultivated the original commercial supply of Old World indigo that worked it s way
around European trade routes during the Greco Roman era.
The so called blue gold later became culturally important and highly desired throughout Europe,
Japan, and West Africa, before eventually making it s way to the American colonies, where its
cultivation and trade helped fund the Revolutionary War effort.
Around the turn of 20th century synthetic indigo dye came on scene and decimated the natural dye
market. Today most commercial operations use the synthetic indigo, although environmental
concerns have reignited an interest in natural, sustainable dyes.
Okay, so what does any of this have to do with Newton, you ask?
Well, you may recall that in the mid 17th century, apple loving Isaac discovered the visible spectrum
of light when he held up a prism to a sunbeam and watched a rainbow come out the other

A Study On Xyz University
Introduction
Problem
XYZ University is facing a problem in that classes that are one day a week are not providing
enough time in class for students. Student satisfaction and retention is low due to the difficulties of
1 night a week in an eight week session . This makes it hard for students to retain the information
they learn in one week. Meeting only 8 times for an entire class does not help a student learn the
material
Solution
Xyz should change the one a week class schedule and expand classes into meeting two days a
week. This will give students more time in class and more one on on time with the teacher. Being
in class twice a week will increase the students learning and do better in school. This can also give
the student a chance to ask the teacher for help if he did not learn the material the first day on the
week.
Problem Analysis
Research
A study on XYZ University s website asked students how often they would prefer to have class and
when they wanted to go to class. Majority of the students chose to take class two times a week
which came to a total of 67% of the students. Only a 29.8% chose to go one day a week, 29.8% for
three days a week, and 23 percent for more than three days a week.
Student Satisfaction and Retention Student s satisfaction is low because of the difficulty of
having class one day a week in an eight week session. Students would be more satisfied with
having class twice a week because then they would have more time to learn the

How Did Brutus Caesar Betray
Brutus is a betrayer who believed he was a true great. He let others persuade him to commit a
treasonous assassination when he could have simply done his own research. There are those
who feel Brutus was a patriot because he was willing to assassinate his own friend for the good
of a country. Brutus believed he knew what was right. He was easily manipulated by others who
viciously tricked him. In act 1 scene ii Cassius distracts Brutus with all the possible glory he could

is the way older adults are living ten years longer than before (Imperial NHS, 2011). Another
thing is that people do not have to wait as long for treatments, like before, such as eye surgeries,

Suggested Strategy for Central High School
Needs Assessment As chair of the committee charged with the recommendation for the purchase
of new computer equipment, I will detail a suggested plan for this $50,000 project at Central
High School. The high school has 1000 students in four grade levels (9th through 12th), and has
approximately 60 and 20 supporting staff. An inventory of the computers at the whole school
was conducted to understand what is currently available. There is currently one computer lab
per grade level in the school with 22 computers each, allowing for each grade use of this for one
period per day. There are also two computers in each classroom (one for student use, one for
teacher use) as well as a bank of computers in the library. There are also individual computers for
the guidance counselors, nurse, principals and assistant principals, and office staff. As the
inventory was being done, a survey was passed out to all of the staff asking where the needs
were greatest and what specific equipment was lacking. The overwhelming desire of the majority
of the teachers was more computers in the individual classrooms, specifically in the math and
science rooms as a lot of current information was required and there was a lot of competition for
its use. There was a great desire to be flexible and move the computer from place to place, such
that a laptop computer or tablet computer was preferred over a desktop. Market Research In order
to take the needs of the school and convert that into a proposal, I

The Development Of Byzantine Architecture
Byzantine architecture is directly related to imperial traditions, to the Christian life and culture of
the Romans. A typical feature of Byzantium is the diverse ethnic composition that includes Greeks,
Thracians, Armenians, Syrians, Copts, Jews, Avars, Slavs and many others. This diversity of
peoples and cultures influences the overall development of Byzantine architecture. Christianity is an
important element shaping the overall appearance of the Byzantine culture.
The light enters through the windows under the dome and illuminates the central ship and the
bridal space.
Procopius explains the impact of the architectural space on the light: The spherical dome, thanks to
the light, does not seem to stand on solid foundations, but seems to hang on a gold chain from the
sky.
In this way one can best describe the beauty and grace of Byzantine architecture.
Byzantine architecture has undergone three stages in its development:
In 313, Christianity was officially recognized. By 326 this was the official religion of the Roman
Empire. The boundaries of the Empire were from Milan and Cologne on the west to Syria on the
east and to Greece and Egypt on the south. The new religion requires all ceremonies to take place
inside the temple, which necessitates the increase of space within the temple. This created the need
for a new architecture. This function took the basilica.
The basilica is a rectangular building divided by rows of columns of sodium, five or more
longitudinal ships,

The Importance Of Sex Education
In America, Sex Education is put on the back burner when it comes to education, which is causing
a rise in teen pregnancy rates and STI/HIV rates in the United states. A lot of the Sex Education in
our country is based on fear and putting Sex and Sexuality as something that is not normal
(Heather). Sex Educationin America is very important to teach the youth; with help from teachers
and parents can make the youth more aware about proper sex education and how to have safe sex,
and learn healthy relationship normalities.
There is a lot of controversy over teaching comprehensive sex education among people, some
people believe that teaching comprehensive sex education causes rates of teen pregnancy and STI
/Aids rates to go up. Just like we keep up with teaching the youth Math and Science, we also need
to keep them up to date on issues like Sex Education. This is important so the youth can be aware
of these things like STIs when they are adults and know how to protect themselves, and possibly
others . There is no evidence that teaching kids to use condoms causes a spike in sexual activity (
Comprehensive ). In past surveys ninety percent of Americans over the age of eighteen felt sex
education was very important to include in public school curriculum.Comprehensive Sex education
has been proven statistically to be better than teaching abstinence only education. The population
council declared that Abstinence only programs are ineffective at preventing teen pregnancy and

My Personal Interpretation Of The Entrepreneurship Forum
The following essay will describe my personal interpretation of the Entrepreneurship Forum,
conducted on October 16, 2015 at California State University, Monterey Bay. The forum focused
on four specific speakers and their journey as entrepreneurs. The below paragraphs will describe
the general emphasis of each speakers entrepreneurial story, including the challenges and rewards
from their experiences. The paper will then conclude with the lessons I found most important, and
whether or not the speaker s stories have made me more inclined to be an entrepreneur. The first
speaker was a woman named Kara Kytle, the founder and Chief Executive/Technology Officer
for Assure Technology. Kytle spoke with influence from her 20 years of experience in
technology design and leadership. Her bio mentioned some of the large companies she had
worked for such as Intel and Sun, which left me excited to hear her entrepreneur story. She began
with the origin and reason behind Assure Technology. Kytle informed the crowd that her
company was started because of the fact her mom suffers from frequent memory loss. The
problem was she needed a product that would help her mother locate her cellphone, remind her to
keep the phone charged, and update the family on her location/wellness. Kytle said since she
could not find the proper products she decided to build one, and this initiated the design of Assure

Charles I, Louis Xiv, And Peter The Great
In the latter half of the 1600 s, monarchial systems of both England and France were changing.
Three royal figure throughout history who all tried to establish a role of absolutism in their
societies all of them had varying factors with the greatest success from least to greatest being
Charles I, Louis XIV, and Peter the Great. Absolutism is a form of government where a king or
queen rules with unrestricted powers. They are often followed in heredity by passing on the
leadership through bloodlines. All over the world these bloodlines still exist except, that most
of them only remain as a symbolic figure or a person of fame. A couple of monarchs that still
rule are Brunei, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Swaziland, the emirates comprising the UAE, and
Vatican City. The English had been under the combined rule of both the king and the assembly
for so long that they were not ready to give all the power of government to a single person. The
least influential, Charles I, was born in 1600 and died 1649 when he inherited the throne
parliament was very upset with the monarchy and sought to lessen the power of the monarchy.
Charles I tried to rule without consenting Parliament, but Parliament had so much control at the
time that he failed to decrease its power. However, Charles believed in the divine rights of kings.
Charles went on to oppress his people by levying taxes without the consent of the parliament. Many
of his subjects saw him as a tyrannically oppressive leader. He created

Flag Desecration Synthesis Essay
Roshelle Grinberg Due: December 3, 2010
Mr. Baldwin E5X 09
That Flag Should Not Be Protected The United States is known for being land of the free , a
nation with a Declaration of Independence, as well, as a Constitution protecting the rights of it s
citizens. Wars have been fought and many people have died so we could have the rights that
present today. The freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of assembly, and most
importantly the right to petition our government; all of which fall under the First Amendment in
the Bill of Rights. Our nation s flag is an everlasting symbol of freedom and hope ... Show more

The burning or desecration of the American Flag may fall under both freedoms. When one thinks of
the flag, they usually think of the blood that was shed for this country. It was shed so that we could
have liberties, such as, freedom of speech and expression, which fall under the First Amendment
rights of the Constitution. However, when you think of a burning flag, what comes to mind? One
might say it shows disrespect and hatred to a country that has given so much. In the case of Texas v.
Johnson, Johnson was accused of desecrating a sacred object, but, his actions were protected by the
First Amendment. Although his actions may have been offensive, he did not utter fighting words.
As stated in Source D Justice William Brennan wrote the 5 4 majority decision in holding that the
defendant s act of flag burning was protected speech under the First Amendment to the United
States Constitution. By burning the flag, Johnson did not infringe upon another s natural human
rights. He was simply expressing his outrage towards the government, which is within the
jurisdiction of the First Amendment. Another court case, where the 5 4 majority ruled in favor
of the defendant was United States v. Eichman in 1980, a year after the Johnson case. In the case
of United States v. Eichman, 496 U.S. 310 (1990), the law was struck down by the same five
person majority of justices as in Texas v. Johnson, 491 U.S. 397 (1989). [Source D] Multiple times

Specsavers Target Audience
In most advertisements, there are five key components that are addressed. They are: form, purpose,
audience, language and context. The relationship between the audience and the advertisement is
important because time is limited to capture the attention of the potential buyer and display the
product that is being advertised. Repetition, association with celebrities and promotions are all
techniques that are used to capture an audience.
In 2016, Specsavers launched a new advertisement called Fawlty Car, starring the famous British
actor John Cleese from the classic TV show Fawlty Towers. The target audience was for the
demographic of sixty plus; people with poor vision requiring spectacles. It promoted their 25%
discount for over sixty year olds. In many advertisements, celebrities are used to sell many different
products. When a celebrity is in a commercial it can influence customer purchases, build awareness
around the product, attract new buyers and it can even bring new life to a failing brand. In the
Specsavers advertisement, John Cleese was used because he is associated with Fawlty Towers, a
hit TV show that over sixty year olds would relate to. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In both advertisements, a certain character is either embarrassed or does something wrong because
they could not see clearly. When the audience views the advertisements, they see the character

Differences Between The Help Book And Movie
The Help, Kathryn Stockett s novel and film discuss the story of African American maids working
in white Southern homes for the upper class white people during the early 1960 s in Jackson,
Mississippi. There are multiple dissimilarities between the novel, The Help and the film, The Help .
Even though the administrator managed to keep the same storyline, there still are not as many
similarities as differences in the filmand novel. To begin with, the director had kept many of the
characters appearances and personalities the same in the film as in the novel. Some disparities were
that in the novel Skeeter is hefty and tall, but the movie has her lean and average height. Hilly is
portrayed in the book as an dark haired woman, whose weight enlarged throughout the ending of
book, but in the film, she is very thin and stays that way throughout the whole film. Also in the film,
Skeeter s maid Constantine, is smaller than Skeeter although in the book it says that Constantine is
the only person who made Skeeter feel tiny and short. Lastly, Constantine s daughter in the movie
Rachel, is an African American, but in the novel, it says she may have a white daughter or even no
daughter. In the book, the Skeeter s family finds out Constantine is dead when sending a personal
check to her and her daughter sends it back saying she has passed away. In the film, Skeeter s
mother says that her brother went to go bring Constantine back, but he finds out she has passed
away. In the movie,

We see graffiti everywhere even though it is illegal. Its on trains, buses, buildings you name it

Economic Restructuring And Revitalization Of Detroit...
Abstract
This paper explores the economic restructuring and revitalization of Detroit Michigan post World
War II until today. The purpose of this research paper is to show the history of Detroit s auto and
manufacturing industry, in what ways it has changed in recent years, and how it has helped define
the economy of Detroit and damaged it. This paper suggests that the deindustrialization of plants
and industries and the depopulation of whites to the Suburbs have triggered the economic downfall
of the Motor City. Some social issues such as race discrimination and segregation that might have
led to the riots of 1943, and 1967, and the migration of African Americans to Northern States in
search of employments will be discussed as well. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
General Motors, the country s leader in defense contracts, is firmly fixed in the public mind with
the manufacture of automobiles... 35 percent of its total business is non automotive. This
diversification... gives General Motors an enormous advantage... But little of this helps Michigan
now, since G.M. no longer concentrates its military work in this area (Widick, 1959, Pg. 1).
Widick (1959) suggests that a large percentage of the manufacturing was military based, however
after World War II, General Motors expanded its military production to other cities and countries
losing the main focus on Detroit. The manufacturing of war weapons, vehicles, and airplanes
generated the economic spur in Detroit and the United States during World War II because the
United States produced weapons and military technology to allied countries without fully involving
manpower in the war. The massive production of military products ended after the war and the
production of weapons had decreased.

Historical Significance Of Pearl Harbor Essay
On the December 7th 1941, Pearl Harbor was woken up to a surprise attack by the Japanese
Army, and was call the bombing of Pearl Harbor, which holds great historical significance in
World War II. Firstly, the bombing of Pearl Harbor was illustrated as the main reason as to why
America turned on their isolationistic view of World War II. Before Japan attacked Pearl Harbor,
America had an isolationistic approach to World War II. America believed that they had won the
war for England, France and Italy, but were not given back the loans that were used for
reparations. This resulted in the passing of the neutrality act by the US congress August 31, 1935.
The neutrality act was a ban of financial loans to countries engaging in war, arms embargo (no

The fundamentals for the start of the French revolution were equality and liberty. Those in power
didn t stand equal in the Meeting of the Estates General. From the beginning, I always believed
that everyone should have a say in government. However, not everyone believes so since the
Third Estate is falling behind in power. The majority of the people in that Estate are commoners

Whoa! The commoners of the Third Estate pledged never to separate and to continue to congregate
until a new constitution for France was written. From that moment, I realized that a revolution was
about to occur amongst France. I was certain. It was obvious.
The Parisians waged war on Versailles. Many people died during this battle, last time I checked
it was 800 people. I ve heard that the main cause for this battle was for resources such as
gunpowder and weapons but I truly knew that we were at the start of a new revolution for our
independence. I certainly wasn t clear on the directions, all I knew was to fight them outside of the
Bastille. I led my brave warriors there hoping that they realized what they were getting themselves
into. They knew. They knew to fight for their right.
The March on Versailles was another attack; this time between the Parisian women and the
Versailles. I count a lot of ladies! Give or take 7,000! They re all carrying pitchforks and muskets!
Last time I went to the market, I noticed that the prices of bread had skyrocketed. This made times
tough for the commoners. Now as for this time, I stood aside from this battle since my Shepherd
Instructor sat me out on this one. However, I would want to stand for the liberty of the commoners.
Their say in the government means little but together as a democratic group is definitely something
worth fighting for.

Effects Of Insider Trading Regulations On The Capital Markets
Introduction
The concern of this paper is the effects of insider trading which constitutes whether to support or to
reject insider trading regulations. Whether insider trading should or should not be regulated in the
capital markets is a difficult question to answer due to ethical and rational concerns. A suitable
answer is an answer that must be sufficient enough to satisfy both types of concerns appropriately.
This paper contains three sections to this topic: for regulation, against regulation, as well as a
personal critique. Due to the nature of this touchy subject, this topic of insider trading regulations
has been one of the most controversial debate ongoing for decades by many intellectual authors.
Few of these authors insights will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If not so, then inside traders would have a significant advantage over outsiders; thus leading to a
higher rate of return against the statistical mean. This however is not what pro non regulation
supports view as practical. Rather than a fair trading ground, they propose that price moving
efficiency as significantly more important. Thomas Lambert, an author who defends the idea
having regulations against insider trading, proposes a more middle ground solution that would
loosen regulation while maintaining some but not all current regulations. His proposal suggests
that the SEC should not regulate price decreasing tactics, whereas to leave price increasing tactics
regulations fixed. In fairness to his proposal, it can be a remedy that would correct over valued
equity prices, while protecting under valued equity. Not only would it satisfy the intentions of anti
regulation supporters, but it could fix ethical concerns regarding manager behaviors. Now there are
many reasons as to why regulations must stay fixed in place against inside trading. It would give
way to an unfair advantage to investors holding privileged information.
While possessing undisclosed information, managers would be able to take on risky projects that
may have been above their risk tolerance. In other words, insider trading is practically used for
two purposes: to maximize gains and to minimize risk. The price of a firm s stock reflects the

A Brief Look at Polio
INTRODUCTION Polio is a viral infectious disease transmitted via the faecal oral route. It is a
dreaded disease especially in children, it results in infantile paralysis. Polio has no cure causing
great concern due to significant morbidity and mortality. Despite global efforts to eradicate
Polio, it is still endemic in parts of the world. This paper discusses the global problems posed by
the disease, eradication strategies employed globally and regionally and the challenges in the
way of achieving a world without Polio. HISTORYPolio dates to before the 20th century when
first cases of epidemics were clinically reported. In fact, an Egyptian carving which dates back
to around 1400BC depicts a priest with a paralysed leg similar to Polio victims. In the year 1789,
a British doctor, Michael Underwood, described Polio as debility of the lower extremities
(www.polioeradication.org). In 1840, a German doctor, Jacob von Heine established the disease
may be contagious. In 1894, in USA, the first significant Polio outbreak in infants was
documented. In 1907, a Swedish doctor, Ivar Wickman, identified different types of Polio
infection and in 1908; two Austrian physicians Landsteiner and Popper inferred that Polio is a
viral infection. Several years later, research actions were launched and in 1955, the first vaccine
against the disease was created by Dr Jonas Salk.

The Great Gossip Girl By F. Scott Fitzgerald

The Great Gossip Girl
A young man desperately battling society, wealth, and rich obnoxious friends in order to win the
heart of the perfect girl...is this the story of The Great Gatsby, or the CW s Gossip Girl? Both,
actually: the hit TV show mirrors Fitzgerald s most famous work through parallel themes and
characters. Cynical subjects such as doomed love and corruption of the upper class play a major
part in both works, as well as the story of fight to surmount class and poverty. This story actually
played out a couple of times over the course of Gossip Girl s intensely dramatic six seasons, but
most notably between Dan Humphrey and Serena Van Der Woodsen. Dan Humphrey was the
James Gatz of Gossip Girl, still struggling to become Jay Gatsby. He had a nice life with his father
and sister in Brooklyn, but always dreamed about something greater. When Nick finally told the
reader Gatsby s true origin story, he said, he invented just the sort of Jay Gatsby that a seventeen
year old boy would be likely to invent, and to this conception he was faithful to the end (p.104).
Dan and Gatsby both had an idealized, or Platonic, view of themselves and the way their lives
would turn out, and they would stop at nothing to get it. Dan created and used Gossip Girl as a
way to get into Serena s world just Gatsby used Nick to get Daisy back. Both men saw their
dream girl as all the money and glamour and fame that they wanted distilled into one person, a
person whose voice

With the global economy developed, organizations have to live in a more complex and changeable

future possibility is vital for organizations to survive in a world changes rapidly. However, it seems
to be not sufficient to use traditional approaches of strategy in such highly uncertain, intensive and

Acromegaly Research Paper
Acromegaly
Acromegaly is a rare hormonal disorder. It occurs when the pituitary gland produces too much
growth hormone (GH). It most commonly affects middle aged adults. It can result in serious illness
and premature death. Once recognized, acromegaly is treatable in most patients. But due to its slow
and often seemingly harmless onset, it often is not diagnosed correctly.
SYMPTOMS
Abnormal growth and soft tissue swelling of the hands and feet.
When tissue thickens, it may trap nerves. Symptoms are numb and weak hands.
Changed facial features:
в—‹ Protruding brow and lower jaw.
в—‹ Increased spacing of the teeth.

The pituitary is a small gland at the base of the brain. It produces several important hormones to
control body functions such as growth and development, reproduction and metabolism.
Pituitary Tumors
In over 90% of acromegaly patients, the overproduction of GH is caused by a benign (non
cancerous) tumor of the pituitary gland. This is called an adenoma. These tumors produce excess
GH.
Non Pituitary Tumors
In rare cases, acromegaly is caused by tumors of the pancreas, lungs and adrenal glands. These
tumors also lead to an excess of GH.
DIAGNOSIS
If a doctor suspects acromegaly, he/she can measure the GH level in the blood. Other blood tests
measuring special hormones in the blood may be helpful. A blood test called a glucose tolerance
test may be used to help confirm a diagnosis of acromegaly.
Imaging techniques, such as computed tomography (CT) scans or magnetic resonance imaging
(MRI) scans of the pituitary are used to locate the tumor that causes the GH overproduction.
TREATMENT
The goals of treatment are to:
Reduce GH production to normal levels.
Relieve the pressure that the growing pituitary tumor puts on the surrounding brain

Personal Identity In The Overcoat And The Nose
In Gogol s The Overcoat , an every man apparently becomes something more by replacing his

Again, the transition in perspective makes the state of reality unclear, and serves to highlight
the supreme importance rank holds in Gogol s society. If The Nose was only told from
Kovalyov s point of view, for example, it may have been possible he hallucinated or dreamed the
entire thing. By initially making the perspective that of the barber, Gogol makes his story much
more surreal; either Kovalyov s nose is literally walking about St. Petersburg, or St. Petersberg is
experiencing some kind of surreal, shared phantasm. This surrealism allows Gogol to highlight
the absurdity of the situation: At first, the barber is afraid that he has found Kovalyov s nose, but
after the nose is masquerading about the streets with certain clothes and minor embellishments, it
is treated with such reverence that even Kovalyov treats his own nose as an official of higher
rank. It is only when Kovalyov files a report with the police that his nose is finally returned to
him, and even then the police officer had trouble recognizing the nose as not being a high ranking
official. Through the surrealism brought about by dynamic perspective, Gogol highlights the
absurdity of how much his society focuses on rank. While the interplay of dream and reality
generate the dynamic, surrealist perspective in The Nose and The Overcoat , the nature of dreams
and reality also directly affects

Numerical Modeling And Validation Of Neo Hookean Materials

Project title: Numerical modelling and validation of Neo Hookean materials in an automotive
design application
1. BACKGROUND AND SUMMARY
1.1BACKGROUND
Cauchy elastic materials, also known as simple elastic materials are a type of material in which the
stress at each point can only be determined from the state of deformation in which it is currently in
with respect to a arbitrary co ordinate system [1]. The fact that these stresses depend solely on the
state of deformation means that these stresses, which cause work, can depend on the path in which
the material deforms. This translates to the material being conservative, also known as a
hyperplastic material (e.g. rubber).
Hyper elastic material, also know as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Generally, the hydraulics pressure is generated from either the geroter (generated rotor), or a
rotary vane pump, which are driven by the engine of the vehicle. The turning of the wheels is
done by a hydraulic cylinder which has a force applied to it from a hydraulic cylinder, which is
directly controlled by valves allowing for flow according to the drivers steering. The more force
applied by the driver allows for a grater flow in the hydraulic system thus, allowing for a greater
displacements of the steering heel, leading to an increased turning rate of the vehicle.
Considering hydraulic pumps are designed to in effect only during positive displacement the speed
of the engine, directly relates to the flow rate of the hydraulic pump meaning that at high speeds
the cars steering operates easier and faster compared to low speeds.
FIGURE 2: Power steering unit layout [3].
The equivalent linear stiffness of the dust boot covers is important for the feel of the steering, and
the packaging constraints in that area are restrictive so a trade off needs to be found between the
maximum diameter (minimum stiffness) of the concertina folded cover and the effect of the
stiffness on the steering.

by Matt Damon against Brad Pitt to acquire quiet title to one acre of Brad s land that Matt had

To acquire a quiet title to the land Matt Damon only needs 21 of those years. According to Ohio
law, the person wanting to obtain title from adverse possession must have possessed the property
for 21 years without the permission of the owner, but in clear knowledge of the owner ( Ohio
Adverse Possession Laws ). There are four requirements listed to obtain a quiet title starting with
using the land without permission of the owner. Then they must treat the land as their own, use
the land in an obvious way and for a continuous period of time without sharing with others ( Ohio
Adverse Possession Laws ). Matt Daman easily completes all four of these requirements. He
never asked Brad for permission to clear the land and build a barn on Brad s land, but did. Brad
repeatedly visited and inspected the property in 1986, 1996, and 2002, seeing the barn but never
saying anything to Matt. Matt appears to have also used the land for a continuous period
totaling 21 years before requesting title to the one acre of land. Brad may have a defense if he

When he started this artwork (study of Innocent the X) he had to go to Rome to view VelГЎzquez
portrait of Pope Innocent the X. When questioned about his paintings he said it wasn t because he
had anything against the pope and then he went on to suggest some lie. The real reason was the
idea of power and anger that makes people do terrible things and distorts them. In the original
painting the pope is screaming but in the nightmarish portrait by Francis he is screaming and angry
with rage and power. His presence is demanded with colours and paint stokes that seem to
reverberate from his feet.

Going Gluten Free Diet Analysis
The article, Going Gluten Free: The New Diet Fad by Marie Suszynski on June 10th, 2009 in
Everyday Health, claims there s a new diet called gluten free diet that are trending among people
without celiac disease. An examples of gluten is wheat and rye. By knowing how gluten free diet
works can helps people, who doesn t have celiac disease be more inform about the diet before
choosing to be on it. My question for this article is what is the pros and cons from going on gluten
free diet? The purpose of glutenfree diet is an act of treatment to celiac disease, If you have celiac
disease, your intestines cannot tolerate the presence of gliadin, which is a component of gluten
(Iliades 1). When intestines are intolerant or sensitive to gluten, it causes inflammation and damage
to intestinal tract, so by going on gluten free diet it can help reverse inflammation and prevent
inflammation in near future (Barry 1).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ironically, instead of losing weight they gain more weight because the product that are label
gluten free , often contain higher level of fat and sugar to replace the gluten, hence making
people gain weight (Suszynski 1). This information informs us the advantage and disadvantage
of gluten free diet, it is mysterious to me because I don t know a lot of this diet and it is surprise
to learn about this diet. What I know about this diet from the beginning of Food and Nutritious
classes, is that people who have celiac disease go on this diet to reverse and prevent the symptom
of this disease, which is inflammation to intestinal tract. What I found from reading this article is
people who doesn t have celiac disease, go on it (gluten free diet) to lose weight but the result are
disappointing because instead of losing weight, they gain even more

Dolphins Persuasive
Why Should We Save the Dolphins? Final Draft
By: Emily Chang
Class: 6(2)
Subject: English
Teacher: Mr. Kris(Smith)
Imagine you are a dolphin swimming happily in the ocean with the other dolphins. Suddenly, you
hear something terrible, and that makes you feel extremely uncomfortable. You swim towards
somewhere safe to get away from that terrible sound. However, when you get in, you realize it is
a trap! You have been caught! You might be sent to an aquarium or killed to be made into sushi.
This unfortunate fate is not a dream, but it is a sad reality for hundreds of thousands of innocent
dolphins. They are endangered of becoming extinct and their main predators are us, humans. Our
society needs to do something to preserve and protect our precious dolphins. Dolphins should be
saved because they are an endangered species, it is cruel to kill such intelligent animals and they are
not even safe to eat.
Dolphins: An Endangered Species There are many kinds of dolphins in the world. The most
common one that we see in theme parks, aquariums and movies is the Bottlenose Dolphin.
Fortunately for us, this is one of the few species of dolphins that are not yet endangered. However,
there are many other different species of dolphins that are endangered. For example, the Baiji

It was thought that there were only around 13 Baiji Dolphins left in the world, and there was even
an organization that was made to help save them. The organization had a website, but it no longer
exists so that makes the situation for these incredible creatures hopeless. It is likely that they are in
fact extinct. This is a sad situation because we could have and should have prevented this. If we do
not save the dolphins, the path to extinct might be quicker. Therefore, we must help save the
dolphins to ensure their population continues to

Theme of Voice in Their Eyes Were Watching God Essay
Breaking Through
In the novel Their Eyes Were Watching God written by Zora Neale Hurston, Janie the protagonist
is seen by critics as having no voice. For all women silence knows no boundaries of race or
culture, and Janie is no exception. Hurston characterizes Janie with the same silence that women at
that time period were forced into, (complete submission.) Women were to be seen and not heard.
Janie spends forty years of her life, learning to achieve/find, her voice against the over ruling and
dominate men in her life. But in the end Janie comes out the victor, breaking the silence. In her

Janie s actions are stronger than words, Janie s trial at the end of the novel, proves, Janie s silence to
be more powerful than articulation.
Hurston uses the narrative consciousness in Their Eyes, to characterize those who are silent and
lack their own voice, by doing this Hurston gives depth, to those whose voices, are heard.
Throughout the entire novel, the development of the male voice seems to parallel the
development of Janie s. The men in Janie s life have voices, and it is by her relationships with
these men, that Janie s voice gets stronger. Janie becomes more self confident with each
relationship she endures. Hurston, by using the consciousness narrative, is actually speaking for
Janie; the narrator and Janie are like one. This might be the reason that Hurston gives little voice
to Janie s character. Janie is not silenced in the novel, she is expressed through the narrative.
Which if the reader does not close read, the reader will not comprehend this aspect of Hurston s
novel.
Passion and control correspond to voice and silence, as expressed by the three relationships in
Janie s life. Hurston brings together the men and women in her novel, comparing Janie s personal
growth to the three significant men in her life ( Logan, Starks, Tea Cake, which all three were her
husband.)

  • 2. Shakespeare Uses Manipulation, Lies, And Deceit Shakespeare Uses Manipulation, Lies, and Deceit Many people believe lying is just a bad habit, but that is not true. Lying is a part of human nature, no matter if it is a big or small lie, everyone has lied before ( Lying: Bad Habit Or Human Nature? ). Everyone has different reasons for deceiving others, but that does not change the fact that everyone has lied at some point. Human nature keeps the world from achieving complete perfection, and Shakespeare allows this idea to be the foundation that his plays build off of. The human nature of deceptionis found as a common theme in Shakespeare s Hamletand Much Ado About Nothing. Shakespeare uses these plays to communicate to his audiences that sometimes in order to find the truth you have to use trickery and manipulation; thus creating the idea that deception can be evil or harmless depending on the circumstances and the intentions of those who are trying to decieve. Hamlet elucidates the dangers that deception can provoke in relationships and shows the consequences of lying. Shakespeare shows his tangled opinions about deception throughout Much Ado About Nothing by using manipulation to help benefit others and destroy relationships; this allows Shakespeare to further show his idea that deception can be used for good and evil. One of Shakespeare s main themes that is seen throughout many of his plays is deception; this brings more dramatic components to the audience. • 3. Aristotelian Influence Durrenmatt However, the most important Aristotelian influence Durrenmatt is arguably the chorus. The chorus is the melody and song element of Aristotelian tragedies. A chorus is a group of people who are homogenized and are non individualized that comment and react as one to the action of the play in order to help the audience follow the play. The chorus also typically comments on the moral issue in the play, for example in The Visit comments on the moral issue of if justice can be bought as well as provide insight into the play. Typically in Greek tragedies there would only be a few actors who would play several parts and the chorus would consist of a large number of people. Without this insight the audience might have assumed that GГјllen was always a poor town and never meant anything to the world. However with this insight allows the reader to truly understand why the town needed and wanted the money so badly that they were willing to kill the town s one most beloved man, Ill. In Act II and III however, is when the chorus begins to play the role of embodying themes. In Act II, the chorus is showing how the townspeople have slowly been bought and are turning against Ill. This is particularly evident when the townspeople are buying lavish items from Ill s store. The two women: charge it , (Durrenmatt 40). With the townspeople buying the more expensive items, Ill is realizing that they are all just waiting for somebody to kill him. This is even more prevalent at the end of the act when the townspeople surround Ill at the train station reassuring Ill that nobody is trying to kill him, yet they all followed him ... This applies for both internal and external candidates. The first step is for the nurse manager to make a request from upper management the need to post an opening. Upon receiving approval, the nurse manager then decides whether to post approved open positions within the department for three (3) calendar days or to post within the organization for seven (7) calendar days. Appropriate approvals authorize recruitment activity for up to six (6) months. Internal Recruitment and Selection Process If posted within the department, applicants submit an Internal Application form directly to the hiring manager within the three days the position is posted within the department. If posted within the department and there are no qualified applicants, the Position Request form is submitted to Human Resources and the position is posted organization wide for four (4) calendar days. Applicants for positions posted organization wide submit an online application. This form will be sent directly to the Employment Specialist for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Occupational Therapy Personal Statement OTCAS Personal Statement There is an anonymous quote I often encounter which states, Find three hobbies you love: one to make you money, one to keep you in shape, and one to be creative. I believe that people can have many hobbies and passions in life, but there are few things that constitute what our purpose is. I feel that when we can combine our passions into a career that also has a positive impact on humanity, we have found our purpose. I am not going to tell you that it has always been my dream to become an occupational therapist. For most of my school years, I did not know what profession I wanted to pursue. I did know, however, that I desired to work in healthcare because of my personal experience with my family s injuries/diseases, as well as my interests in how the body functions and heals. For a while, I was adjudicating between becoming an occupational therapist or a physical therapist because the two professions are quite similar. After much contemplation, I realized that my high attention to detail, personality, and my passions for science, art, and the mind made occupational therapy the career I wanted to strive towards. • 7. Symbolism in Fairytales Essay Symbolism in Fairytales Fairytales are as ancient as communal living. However, the symbolism of fairytales is very controversial. In the case of Cinderella, I believe that it symbolizes the role of women in society and the characteristics that women should have. In Bruno Bettelheim s article Cinderella: A Story of Sibling Rivalry and Oedipal Conflicts, he depicts the fairytale as a case of sibling rivalry. Feminist Madonna Kolbenschlag, says in her article A Feminist View of `Cinderella, that the fairytale represents women s role in society. Karol Kelley s article A Modern Cinderella, also claims that the fairytale describes the women s role in society and their characteristics. The topics discussed by the authors are the... Secondly, the meaning of Cinderella s work I think, is demeaning to her, and again it represents the traditional role of women to take care of the housework. Cinderella stays at home doing the housework is a traditional feminine role, but is dirty, physically demanding, and demeaning (Kelley 89). Bettelheim believes that the work is symbolic to children and the reasons they do work. As long as you work hard you will be rewarded (570). This is an interesting point, but I think the dirty and physically demanding housework may also show a distinction in social class. The Prince, being a man, obviously doesn t clean floors or cook. He holds the highest level in society at that time. Third is the significance of the ashes. I believe that Cinderella s home among the ashes is a direct correlation with the virtues that the hearth symbolizes. Kolbenschlag describes the hearth as a place of purity, innocence, nurturance, docility, and empathy (525). These virtues coincide with the virtues of Cinderella, a model for women. Bettelheim sees the ashes as another symbol of degradation and sibling rivalry. Living in ashes is more debasement (568 9). In my opinion, this also is true. Living in ashes is dirty and demeaning; however, when analyzing a fairytale, symbolism is of the utmost importance. Therefore, one can conclude that Cinderella posses the same ... With so many jeans walking around today, it s easy to forget that their classic indigo color is actually rare in nature. And while modern synthetic dyes have made this deep blue a common color, it wasn t always so. In fact, for centuries, in part because of its rarity, people across cultures and religions went totally bonkers for indigo. Student satisfaction and retention is low due to the difficulties of 1 night a week in an eight week session . This makes it hard for students to retain the information they learn in one week. Meeting only 8 times for an entire class does not help a student learn the material Solution Xyz should change the one a week class schedule and expand classes into meeting two days a week. This will give students more time in class and more one on on time with the teacher. Being in class twice a week will increase the students learning and do better in school. This can also give the student a chance to ask the teacher for help if he did not learn the material the first day on the week. The high school has 1000 students in four grade levels (9th through 12th), and has approximately 60 and 20 supporting staff. An inventory of the computers at the whole school was conducted to understand what is currently available. There is currently one computer lab per grade level in the school with 22 computers each, allowing for each grade use of this for one period per day. There are also two computers in each classroom (one for student use, one for teacher use) as well as a bank of computers in the library. There are also individual computers for the guidance counselors, nurse, principals and assistant principals, and office staff. As the inventory was being done, a survey was passed out to all of the staff asking where the needs were greatest and what specific equipment was lacking. The overwhelming desire of the majority of the teachers was more computers in the individual classrooms, specifically in the math and science rooms as a lot of current information was required and there was a lot of competition for its use. There was a great desire to be flexible and move the computer from place to place, such that a laptop computer or tablet computer was preferred over a desktop. A typical feature of Byzantium is the diverse ethnic composition that includes Greeks, Thracians, Armenians, Syrians, Copts, Jews, Avars, Slavs and many others. This diversity of peoples and cultures influences the overall development of Byzantine architecture. Christianity is an important element shaping the overall appearance of the Byzantine culture. The light enters through the windows under the dome and illuminates the central ship and the bridal space. Procopius explains the impact of the architectural space on the light: The spherical dome, thanks to the light, does not seem to stand on solid foundations, but seems to hang on a gold chain from the sky. In this way one can best describe the beauty and grace of Byzantine architecture. Byzantine architecture has undergone three stages in its development: In 313, Christianity was officially recognized. By 326 this was the official religion of the Roman Empire. The boundaries of the Empire were from Milan and Cologne on the west to Syria on the east and to Greece and Egypt on the south. The new religion requires all ceremonies to take place inside the temple, which necessitates the increase of space within the temple. This created the need for a new architecture. However, when you think of a burning flag, what comes to mind? One might say it shows disrespect and hatred to a country that has given so much. In the case of Texas v. Firstly, the bombing of Pearl Harbor was illustrated as the main reason as to why America turned on their isolationistic view of World War II. Before Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, America had an isolationistic approach to World War II. America believed that they had won the war for England, France and Italy, but were not given back the loans that were used for reparations. This resulted in the passing of the neutrality act by the US congress August 31, 1935. Effects Of Insider Trading Regulations On The Capital Markets Introduction The concern of this paper is the effects of insider trading which constitutes whether to support or to reject insider trading regulations. Whether insider trading should or should not be regulated in the capital markets is a difficult question to answer due to ethical and rational concerns. A suitable answer is an answer that must be sufficient enough to satisfy both types of concerns appropriately. This paper contains three sections to this topic: for regulation, against regulation, as well as a personal critique. Due to the nature of this touchy subject, this topic of insider trading regulations has been one of the most controversial debate ongoing for decades by many intellectual authors. Few of these authors insights will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If not so, then inside traders would have a significant advantage over outsiders; thus leading to a higher rate of return against the statistical mean. This however is not what pro non regulation supports view as practical. Rather than a fair trading ground, they propose that price moving efficiency as significantly more important. Thomas Lambert, an author who defends the idea having regulations against insider trading, proposes a more middle ground solution that would loosen regulation while maintaining some but not all current regulations. His proposal suggests that the SEC should not regulate price decreasing tactics, whereas to leave price increasing tactics regulations fixed. In fairness to his proposal, it can be a remedy that would correct over valued equity prices, while protecting under valued equity. Not only would it satisfy the intentions of anti regulation supporters, but it could fix ethical concerns regarding manager behaviors. Now there are many reasons as to why regulations must stay fixed in place against inside trading. It would give way to an unfair advantage to investors holding privileged information. In fact, an Egyptian carving which dates back to around 1400BC depicts a priest with a paralysed leg similar to Polio victims. In the year 1789, a British doctor, Michael Underwood, described Polio as debility of the lower extremities (www.polioeradication.org). In 1840, a German doctor, Jacob von Heine established the disease may be contagious. In 1894, in USA, the first significant Polio outbreak in infants was documented. In 1907, a Swedish doctor, Ivar Wickman, identified different types of Polio infection and in 1908; two Austrian physicians Landsteiner and Popper inferred that Polio is a viral infection. Scott Fitzgerald Abbi Kopf 1.7.16 The Great Gossip Girl A young man desperately battling society, wealth, and rich obnoxious friends in order to win the heart of the perfect girl...is this the story of The Great Gatsby, or the CW s Gossip Girl? Both, actually: the hit TV show mirrors Fitzgerald s most famous work through parallel themes and characters. Cynical subjects such as doomed love and corruption of the upper class play a major part in both works, as well as the story of fight to surmount class and poverty. This story actually played out a couple of times over the course of Gossip Girl s intensely dramatic six seasons, but most notably between Dan Humphrey and Serena Van Der Woodsen. Dan Humphrey was the James Gatz of Gossip Girl, still struggling to become Jay Gatsby. He had a nice life with his father and sister in Brooklyn, but always dreamed about something greater. When Nick finally told the reader Gatsby s true origin story, he said, he invented just the sort of Jay Gatsby that a seventeen year old boy would be likely to invent, and to this conception he was faithful to the end (p.104). Dan and Gatsby both had an idealized, or Platonic, view of themselves and the way their lives would turn out, and they would stop at nothing to get it. Dan created and used Gossip Girl as a way to get into Serena s world just Gatsby used Nick to get Daisy back. Pituitary Tumors In over 90% of acromegaly patients, the overproduction of GH is caused by a benign (non cancerous) tumor of the pituitary gland. This is called an adenoma. These tumors produce excess GH. Non Pituitary Tumors In rare cases, acromegaly is caused by tumors of the pancreas, lungs and adrenal glands. These tumors also lead to an excess of GH. DIAGNOSIS If a doctor suspects acromegaly, he/she can measure the GH level in the blood. Other blood tests measuring special hormones in the blood may be helpful. A blood test called a glucose tolerance test may be used to help confirm a diagnosis of acromegaly. Imaging techniques, such as computed tomography (CT) scans or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans of the pituitary are used to locate the tumor that causes the GH overproduction. TREATMENT The goals of treatment are to: Reduce GH production to normal levels. Relieve the pressure that the growing pituitary tumor puts on the surrounding brain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If The Nose was only told from Kovalyov s point of view, for example, it may have been possible he hallucinated or dreamed the entire thing. By initially making the perspective that of the barber, Gogol makes his story much more surreal; either Kovalyov s nose is literally walking about St. Petersburg, or St. Petersberg is experiencing some kind of surreal, shared phantasm. This surrealism allows Gogol to highlight the absurdity of the situation: At first, the barber is afraid that he has found Kovalyov s nose, but after the nose is masquerading about the streets with certain clothes and minor embellishments, it is treated with such reverence that even Kovalyov treats his own nose as an official of higher rank. It is only when Kovalyov files a report with the police that his nose is finally returned to him, and even then the police officer had trouble recognizing the nose as not being a high ranking official. Numerical Modeling And Validation Of Neo Hookean Materials Student number: s3378766 Project title: Numerical modelling and validation of Neo Hookean materials in an automotive design application 1. BACKGROUND AND SUMMARY 1.1BACKGROUND Cauchy elastic materials, also known as simple elastic materials are a type of material in which the stress at each point can only be determined from the state of deformation in which it is currently in with respect to a arbitrary co ordinate system [1]. The fact that these stresses depend solely on the state of deformation means that these stresses, which cause work, can depend on the path in which the material deforms. This translates to the material being conservative, also known as a hyperplastic material (e.g. rubber). Hyper elastic material, also know as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Generally, the hydraulics pressure is generated from either the geroter (generated rotor), or a rotary vane pump, which are driven by the engine of the vehicle. The more force applied by the driver allows for a grater flow in the hydraulic system thus, allowing for a greater displacements of the steering heel, leading to an increased turning rate of the vehicle. There are four requirements listed to obtain a quiet title starting with using the land without permission of the owner.
