Reflection Paper On Public Relations
Throughout the semester, the speakers have reaffirmed the fact that I would like to go into Public
Relations. They have told me everything I already know about the business including writing is
key and that networking is important. However, they have also mentioned things that I had not
yet thought of before such as business papers are a lifesaver, charity is a must, getting to know
your client is important and plenty more. Being able to hear first hand about the business and
what it takes to be successful in the future has helped me prepare for any future jobs or
internships. In our first class with a speaker, Kelly Rossman discussed about while the social media
and writingis a key aspect of Public Relationsyou must also look at the business part of Public
Relations. The business aspect you should have includes partner agreements, no competition
contracts, confidentiality agreements and more. All of these things help your business run
smoothly and ensure that your customers are protected. When dealing with people you never
know what is going to happen because they are so unpredictable. Having the safety guard to
protect you is not only important for your business but for yourself also. It gives you peace at
mind knowing that if you were to wake up the next morning to bad news at least you have
something to fall back on. This will help you focus on being the best Public Relations specialist
you can be and take away unnecessary worry. Going forward I will make sure that

Talk Shows on Television
Television is one of the greatest inventions to ever be created, right? Lucian Dorneanu, an editor of
Softpedia, stated, Wherever a television is on, it draws attention like no other piece electronic in
the house. It can be source of amusement, knowledge, or, misused, of violence and almost self
inflicted psychiatric disorders. Today televisionis having a huge impact on people more than ever
before, by doing more harm than good. Television is supposed to be bringing entertainment and
laughter to every household, by showing a positive way of life. Although, over the years, talk
shows became one of the most watched on television. These talk shows are causing violence,
teaching bad habits, loosing family value.
Turn the television on in the afternoon and there will be one show you will not be able to pass
up The Jerry Springer Show . Jerr y! Jerr y! Jerr y! Jerr y! The annoying Jerr y chant that
everyone knows. The women are going crazy for the Jerry beads makes it irresistible on changing
the channel to another channel. This popular television show The Jerry Springer Show is
considered a Trashy Talk Showthat attracts its audience by violence, strong language, and its
sexual content. The talk show beeps the strong languages used and blurs the entire sexual content
out, but it is still clear what is going on. The beginning of The Jerry Springer Show contains a
warning to parents that the program may not be suitable for children. The first thing that stands out

The Great Sports Team
Greatness can be defined in three words, success , hard work and determination. The 1998 New
York Yankees lived up to every single one of those three traits. They are the greatest sports team
of all time because they won the World Series yet again with Paul o neil and Tino Martinez who
drove in one hundred and sixteen and one hundred twenty three runs. They have continuously
proven themselves according to the Forbes website showing their tremendous records in statistics
which shows just how talented the team really is even through these years. The Yankees outscored
opponents that year by 309 runs, or almost two runs per game. Every member of their primary
everyday lineup had an on base percentage of at least .350.1998 was the season of home... Show

Going by that stat alone, you could claim the 1998 Yankees were the best team ever. The Yankees
set an American League record for the most wins in a single season with a 114 48 record, and
finished 22 games above the second place Red Sox which is very impressive. During that season
everyone seen David Wells throw a perfect game against the Twins, and Bernie Williams win the
batting title with a .339 average. The Yankees broke quite a few records making them the
greatest sports team of all time. Paul O neil was a huge factor of their 1998 World Series win
because he led the Yankees into the World Series where they won against the San Diego Padres
in a 4 game sweep and helped the team win a record 125 games. Game 1 was where the Yankees
win was highlighted by a seven run rally in the bottom of the seventh inning that put the
Yankees ahead for good in a 9 6 win. O Neill was then 0 for 5. But that did not discourage him
because the second game was a blow out where O Neill singled once in five at bats and scored a
run. Later in Game 3, the Yankees were down 3 0 heading into their half of the seventh inning. In
the eighth inning, O Neill walked and later scored on Brosius second home run of the game, a three
run shot that put New York ahead for good. The Yankees completed the sweep the next

Literary Elements In Paper Towns
577,449 copies of paper towns were sold in 2014, Paper Towns is a novel involving many different
issues. This novel John green incorporates many different literary elements. John Green shows
different literary elements throughout his writing, which develop the story and progress in showing
you how the characters are described. John greenuses conflict to describe the characters with
person v person, person v society, person v self , and person v school.
Person versus person is a very important form of conflict. Friendship between the two main
characters shows a form of conflict. Friendship connects with person v person because its one

for a perfect world in society. You ever wonder what it would be like to be in a better town a

Saying Goodbye To My Brother
Saying goodbye to my brother was one of the hardest moments in my life. Even though he came
from a broken home, he was not a low life criminal that committed heinous crimes. I regret the
preconceived ideas I had of him, and I remember what he taught me. Although people come from
all walks of life, they should not be judged before meeting them and finding out who they really
are. CCCRRREEEAAAKKK! The sound of the front door scratching on the wood broke my
hypnotic trance. Looking into the blackness of the night, I search for the only source of light in
the room. Staring at the glowing light of my alarm clock, I attempt to form an explanation for
why one of my parents has left the house. Suddenly, the deafening roar of my father s truck blasts
through the silence. I stumble to my window trying to catch a glimpse of the midnight rider who
was vanishing into the darkness. Anxiously awaiting the return of the shadowy figure, I gaze out
the window for what felt like an eternity until the luminous light of the truck penetrates the pitch
black night. Struggling to make out faces, I recognize my father standing next to my oldest
brother s friend. I question why my father has allowed this troubled teenager to invade our home
in the middle of the night. Forcing myself to suppress the hundreds of questions racing through
my mind, I try to slip back into my deep slumber. Instantly, my world began to rumble and my
ears were impacted with the booming sound of a woman saying the same obscured line over and
over. All of the sudden, I realize the voice is my mom telling me to wake up. I open my eyes and
see both my parents standing over me. Before I even utter a word, they tell me that Caleb s
friend, Jake, will be staying with us for a while. Before I even have a chance to protest, they
were out the door, and I was left there to deal with my mixed emotions. Of course, I would have
to confront this miscreant living in the same house of me, but how to approach him was still
lost to me. I decided to go straight up to him and ask him what he was doing here. I hiked up the
staircase expecting to find a spawn of satan, but all I found was a tall, dark haired, brown eyed boy.

National Intelligence Reform And Terrorism Prevention Act...
Homeland Security is the intersection of evolving threats and hazards with traditional government
and its responsibilities for civil defense emergency response law enforcement, customs border
control and immigration. Moreover, the term enterprise is a national effort that refers to the
collective efforts and shared responsibilities of federal, state local, tribal, territorial,
nongovernmental and private sector partners as well as individuals ( U.S. Department of Homland
Security, 2010). Since the creation of the Department of Homeland Security, the concept of National
Intelligence was arranged by the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004. As that
was formulated, the IC community was known to be more coordinated and effective. The Act also
made it possible for the integration of domestic and foreign dimensions of us intelligence to
eliminate gaps and understanding national securitythreats. Also, this brought about the mission of
the Department of Homeland Security and future capabilities of the department (Noftsinger, 2007).
In any organization it is imperative that higher management assess progress from the start of a
program to the current state and what can happen in the future. Many Americans can recall that
Department of Homeland Security is one of the most significant changes in the federal government.
It can be compared to the creation of the Department of Defense after the Second World War. The

Diffusion and Osmosis Shown In Solutions
Section 1: Abstract
This lab, title Diffusion and Osmosis, was centered around the diffusion across a cellular membrane
and how exactly materials move and diffuse in concentrations. Both diffusion and osmosis are forms
of movement that are part of passive transport dealing with cell membranes. Diffusion is where the
solutes move from an area of high concentration to a low concentration. Water goes through the cell
membranes by diffusion. Osmosis is specifically the movement of water through membranes. Since
osmosis and diffusion are both part of passive transport, this means that they do not require energy
or pumps. There are different environments ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I took the five dialysis tubings which were acting as cells and filled them with 10 mL of each
solution. We knotted each end but made sure to leave enough space at the top for water to
diffuse in the cell. The initial weight was taken and recorded in a data table. The five cells were
placed in a beaker filled with water for 30 minutes. After the 30 minutes, the cells were weighed,
and the final weight was recorded in the data table, and then the percent change was calculated. The
materials used in this procedure were beakers, water, sucrose, glucose, NaCl, ovalbumin, 20 cm
long dialysis tubing and balances.
In the inquiry, I predicted that the blue solution was water and that it would have an isotonic
environment, meaning there would be no percent change.I first cut the potatoes into
6 cylinders of the same size by using a cork. I got six beakers and filled each with 20 mL of the
different color coated solutions with different concentrations (orange, red, yellow, green, blue
purple). The initial mass of each potato cylinder was taken before placing in the solution. I placed
the potatoes in the appropriate labeled beaker (1 6) of each solution and let them sit there for 30
minutes. After the 30 minutes, I took the final mass of each cylinder and calculated the percent
change in mass. The materials that were used in the inquiry were potatoes, corks, pipettes, balances,
scalpels, beakers, and the color coded sucrose solutions.

Supply And Demand Factors Influencing The Physical Gold...
Introduction
Gold has been one of the valuable desires for the past thousands years. Its rarity, indestructibility
and malleability, enabled it to be the main interest to both, the individuals and businesses. As a
result of these properties, the exploration of gold has been of central significance .The intention of
this study is expand on many of the theories and notions concerning supply and demand factors
influencing the physical gold market.
The study of demand analysis is very essential for any entrepreneur because their main objective is
to maximise the profit with efficiently allocating the limited resources provided. The demand
analysis supports in enhancing output with systematically utilizing the resources as well as selling
the output for maximum profits (Chimoriya, 2015). It allows the entrepreneur to: forecast necessity
and sales, determine prices, decisions relating to profit.
To begin with, it will be very useful to look at the PEST Analysis where the gold market is
analysed from the 4 different points of view.
Political:
Government has a huge impact in the gold industry. It imposes royalties on gold mining, which
affects the competitiveness. Alongside, many policies set by the government restrict and control
the supply and demand for example hoarding and dishoarding the gold (Unknown, 2015). Firstly, in
order to encourage miners to mine more gold, the government hoards the gold. Secondly, when the
demand for gold increases

The Construction Of A Social Policy
A Social policy entails the provision of social services in a state, that can be categorized into the
broad dimensions of society and politics, the construction of a social policy is concerned with
the issues faced in the provision and administration of the essentialities of a society (Spicker). A
rather varying category of factors fall under the study of a social policy; these factors such as
literacy, health, employment and crime comprise of perhaps the most major implications on the
wellbeing of a society s members, therefore it can also be said that the social policy is the study of
the systems of a society that constitute its members wellbeing (Reisch). Socialismrefers to political
and economic theory of social organization where the factors of production and capital is owned by
the community as a whole which is the reverse of liberalism which promotes private ownership and
depends highly on the efficiency of the market forces. Where liberalism focuses on private benefit
and individualism, socialism is inclined towards societal growth and common interest hence,
promoting standard educational, health and housing facilities to the entire society to reduce class
difference. Socialism is sometimes used synonymously with communism, however, socialism,
although similar in demanding rights for the working class, differs in its formation and
implications. It grew mainly through the formation of groups both communal and occupational,
which demanded more rights and greater

Engagement In Criminal Behavior Essay
Engagement in Criminal Behavior
Social control theory explains engagement in criminal behavior by the five informal social controls
which are, social and organizational ties, neighborhood attachment, happy with the police work in
the neighborhood and legal cynicism, if these norms are not followed then this is where deviant
and criminal behavior comes into play. If the area is not involved in any type of groups for
instance, religious groups, neighborhood watch program, crime prevention program etc, many
different programs they have available keep citizens, especially youths out of trouble because
neighbors are constantly keeping an eye out, and spreading wisdom to the children as well.

The way the community can prevent this behavior is by looking out for the neighbor to make sure
there is no unknown stranger walking around, having a neighborhood watch program so no
property is being destroyed. Neighbors can keep an eye out for one another s children, to make
sure they are not involved in any deviant behavior.
Thus, we conceptualize informal social control as the willingness of neighborhood residents to
actively engage in behaviors aimed at preventing criminal and deviant behavior in the local area,
with a particular emphasis on the deviant behavior of youth, (Silver and Miller, 2004, p.553).
Another key factor is social cohesion; this is the blocks capacity to be able to take away from
crime and deviance to a minimum. Neighbors are able to exercise informal social control over
youths due to social and organizational ties, neighborhood attachment, happy with the police work
in the neighborhood, and legal

High Heels Sociology
The higher the heel, the more impractical the shoe. Eventually the working classes couldn t keep
up with the escalation because they had to, you know, work. Sociologically, this is an example
of what Pierre Bourdieu famously called distinction. The rich work to preserve certain cultural
arenas and products for themselves. This allows them to signify their status; you know, keep
them from getting confused with the masses. Certain class advantages make it easier for upper
middle class and wealthy women to don high heels. High heels can only be worn routinely by
women who don t work on their feet all day (I ll grant there are dedicated exceptions). Valet

It can t just be the fact that successful women on TV do it, or that adverts show us long legged
models strutting around on impossibly high heels. Surely we re smart enough to know that a pair
of shoes isn t actually going to make our legs miraculously longer or get us that promotion?
O Neill doesn t think so. He says: Women see A list celebrities walking up and down the carpet.
They have got their five inch Louboutin s, but they only use those in those functions. Most of the
time they re in the gym making sure everything looks good.
His view makes us women sound like gullible fools falling for Hollywood s tricks yet again. I ask
my friends why they wear heels and their views differ: dancing in heels is easier than in flats, they
look more professional at work, they make their legs look longer, they suit some outfits better and
they feel sexier. But the one thing they have in common, is that they all make them feel good.
High heels have become a form of cultural practices as woman now wear them for any occasion due
to societies influences and a need to confirm this could also relate to celebrity trends and their
influence. Alternatively the relationship between cultural practice can link with personal identity
,as not all women may wear heels due to societies influences but because that they want to as

Account for the growth of TNCs and evaluate their impacts...
Account for the growth of TNCs and evaluate their impacts at the global and national scales (40
marks) A TNC (transnational corporation) is a company that operates in no less than two
countries and has a global outlook. TNCs have a long history going back to the 16th Century in
terms of trade such as spices, but it s not until C. 1945 that companies started to form
acquisitions and mergers. The one key reason why these businesses have been so successful in
their area of expertise globally is because they can take advantage of spatial differences in the
factors of production worldwide. They are able to exploit differences in the availability of capital,
labour costs and land cost, which we as a world have seen, especially in far east... Show more

Growth of TNCs is down to geographical flexibility and being able to shift resources and
production between locations on a global scale in order to maximise profit margins. For
example, Coca Cola Hellenic is leaving Greece; this is so that they don t lose any more money
than they already have done. Athens stock exchange is a lot smaller than it used to be, which
has meant the general economic sickness in the country depresses prices of all companies there.
So, the company is to move its domicile from Greece to Switzerland and the stock listing from
Athens to London. This example perfectly summarises how and why TNCs pack up in certain
countries and go on to the next to make profit, which is what all multinational companies are out
to do, make a buck. The growth in TNCs is also the idea of shifting to a more flexible production
system, like JIT production, which stands for Just In Time. This type of production is exactly
what it says on the tin, an order is placed with the company and only then do they start making the
product, this saves time, space and money, as products are not left in warehouses until an order is
placed. This allows for products to be made quickly and efficiently. In addition, TNCs can take
advantage of the advances in technology; communication and transport meaning the process can be
dealt with more quickly, easily and cheaply. Plus, many TNCs have adapted their production
process and have broken in down, this

Tokugawa Traditions
Tradition played a huge role in shaping Japanese history during the Tokugawa period from 1603
1868. Many of the traditions practiced in this period are still practiced today for example the
kinds of things taught in education in Japan. Many traditional Japanese also still live in the same
way of life. The traditions that were practiced include; the forms of education, roles of women and
warriors of Japan.
There were many different classes of warriors in Japan from the samurai, to the warrior Buddhist
monks and the Ashigaru foot soldiers. Although they were all different, they all fought under the

ISIS is known for their hatred of religious and ethnic groups that do not conform to their extreme
ways. Christian and the Sunni Muslims are the two main targets for the ISIS terror attacks. Their
attacks have no limits. In Beirut, a fifth century Roman Catholic monastery was destroyed by
ISIS while in Mosul the suspected tomb of Jonah the prophet was blown up (). Also in Mosul, a
mosque and shrine devoted to Prophet Jirjis was also blown up as an act of terror. It s clear that
ISIS has no specific target other than those that disagree with their platform and extreme views.
They use the destruction of images as an attempt to scare locals into subjecting to their laws. ISIS
recognizes the power that these images hold on people and they are trying to exploit that.
Similarly, the government of France and Russia used images and their powers to spread
propaganda. While ISIS uses the images of destruction and violence more so than Russia and
France, the similarities can be seen in the effort to control the common people. What makes this

Mattel s Iconic And Best Selling Brand
Mattel s iconic and best selling brand is The Barbie. Introduced in 1959 as The Teenage Fashion
Model, Barbie allowed girls to experience fashion and to explore various dreams, fantasies and
aspirations without ever leaving home. Because of the introduction of the television in the 1950 s,
companies discovered a new consumer audience among children and teenagers. The post war era
saw a strong economy advancing the middle class suburban families. Now, buying toys became a
year round business versus holiday or luxury items.
Barbie s image has since transitioned from the archaic glamourous 50 s house wife to an image
that has become a part of the American fabric, by reflecting the women of each generation. The
Barbie brand is known for its lucrative collaborations, having created collector s items for iconic
brands such as Chanel, Oscar De La Renta, Coca Cola, and most famously the Disney Princess
line. This franchise has recently gone through a drastic product rebirth over the past 10 years;
modifying the traditional and controversial measurements, in order to make Barbie appear more

Evaluation Of Epidemiological Problem Of Diabetes Mellitus...
Evaluation of Epidemiological Problem Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a major chronic health
problem in adults 18 years or older in the state of Kentucky (KY) that is responsible for many
illnesses and deaths. There are also various complications associated with this health condition.
Complications of DM are atherosclerotic vascular disease, cardiovascular disease, retinopathy,
nephropathy, delayed wound healing, and increased risk for osteomyelitis, which increases the risk
for amputation (American Diabetes Association, 2013). The incidence and prevalence of DM is
increasing each year, making the importance of understanding this deadly but preventable disease
and the opportunities to delay complications essential in providing care to the diabetic population
in KY and nationwide. Nationwide, diabetes prevalence in the US affects approximately 25.8
million Americans with the occurrence of the diagnosed diabetes in the elderly population
demonstrating a consistent significant increase (ADA, 2013). The data reveals that monitoring of
the national trends in the course of the increase in diabetes is important, and it will help to assess
the severity of the problem, the role of risk factors, necessary interventions, and plan appropriate

Athena Goddess Of War
Athena, or Athene, is the Goddess of Wisdom and War ( Athena ). Known for her grace and mercy,
all the other gods highly respected her (Pontikis). Although she is the goddess of war, her true
personality might be a surprise.
Athena s Roman name is Minerva, and the two are very similar (L. Roman and M. Roman 90).
Athena actually does not like fighting at all, but instead enjoys the strategy involved in battle
(Pontikis). This goddess is not only in charge of war, but rules over outdoor activities and chores
done inside the house like weaving, spinning, and cooking (Pontikis). She rules over the city of
Athens, which was rewarded to her because she helped the people by planting the olive tree (L.
Roman and M. Roman 91). Also, her most important temple is called the Parthenon ( Athena ).
Athena can always be found with her helmet and spear, making her one of the easiest goddesses
to identify (Pontikis). Athena is also easy to spot because of her special shield. On her shield is
Medusa s head, which Perseus had given to her (L. Roman and M. Roman 91). She hardly uses her
spear however, because she likes to handle things in a peaceful manner (Pontikis). Surprisingly,

management services. She established her concerns that she wanted to address with me, as well
as her current status in education, living arrangements, social supports, along with her history in
the same areas. We also began to discuss (informally) the goals that she intends to reach with help
of my services and other services she may be referred to. During the process, I learned about Alex
s strength and resilience. I also learned a lot about myself as an interviewer.
Initially, I was worried about covering everything that was required in terms of client information in
the interview. I thought that it would take too long, and that I wouldn t be able to have a
conversation with the client, and instead I would just be asking questions one by one. As the
interview proceeded, and I focused on using open and closed questions, I realized that the session
would go quite smoothly. Alex was really willing to discuss her medical and psychological
background, and made it clear that why she was meeting with a case manager. I found it easy to
initiate the session, and was able to ease into discussion about her concerns and objectives.
My goals for the session were to introduce myself to the client, understand the client s concerns,
learn her background and current situation for several areas relevant to her life and her concerns,
such as medical, family, legal, educational, and vocational. I

A Further Analysis Of Report Of Wild Children Essay
Another important factor that plays a role in the development of the monster and feral children is
the presence of abuse and trauma. Abuse and trauma play a role in the development of the creature
and feral children because it affect their cognition, behavior, their idea of self worth, and their
ability to connect with others. Wayne Dennis s essay, A Further Analysis of Reports of Wild
Children , asserts that because of being in conditions of constant stress and threat [from abuse and
trauma], children may have trouble utilizing their cognitive skills (155). Furthermore, Dennis
asserts that because of the conditions that the children experienced they exhibited behaviors that
can be only be conveyed as erratic and volatile (153). In addition,... Show more content on

These are also true for the monster. The presence of abuse and trauma during the development of
the monster affected his cognition, behavior, his idea of self worth, and his ability to connect
with others. The monster having experienced abuse and trauma from his interaction with
humans before, he become traumatized with violence. This is highlighted when he saw Felix
was about to strike him for the second time he was overcome by pain and anguish, [he] quitted
the cottage (Shelley 95) to escape. Furthermore, his behavior also becomes erratic and volatile.
This is shown when he wished to tear up the trees, spread havoc and destruction, and then sit
down and enjoy the ruin (Shelley 95) after his interaction with the De Laceys. In addition, it is
evident that his perception of himself is as a wretch , even saying All men hate the wretched;
how then must I be hated, who am miserable beyond all living things! (Shelley 67 68). Finally,
because of his experience with the barbarity of man , he is very cautious when approaching other
people. This was displayed when he longed to join [the De Laceys], but dared

The Wind Of The Willows, By Kenneth Grahame
Journeys provoke travellers, that may ultimately lead to transformation of self and leave the
traveller far richer for the experience
In both The Wind in the Willows, and Journey to the Interior, the idea that journeys may provoke
travellers and ultimately lead to transformation of self and richer experiences, is clearly exhibited
within. Depending on an entity s current perspective, they may either embody provocative views,
such as the Rat in the Wind in the Willows and also the persona in Journey to the Interior, or even
have an accepting perspective to journey, such as the character of Toad. Through the use of tone,
symbolism and also truncated sentences, the quote is partially accurate in The Wind in the

Ultimately, because of the nature of the character of Rat, it is clear that this individual despises and
fears the idea of journey, showcasing how an entity s current perspective, can impede on their view

Moreover, in The Wind in the Willows, the idea that journey can lead to transformation of self, and
rich experiences is exhibited in Toad s ecstatic perception of journey. In this extract of the novel,
Toad believes that adventure is the only means of fulfilling and experiencing a real animalistic life;
That s real life for you, embodied in that little cart . The cart is symbolic of Toad s ambitious nature,
which is manifested through his jubilant tone and positive attitude in response to change and
adventure. This optimistic view on journey proves that transformation of self and rich experiences
is attained by undertaking journey. Toad illustrates an image of journey as being something life
changing; Travel, change, interest, excitement! The whole world before you and a horizon that s
always changing . The cumulative listing of the intangible rewards associated with journey,
emphasizes how adventure can lead to richer experiences . Additionally the metaphoric phrase of
the changing horizon represents Toad s intention of adventure and acceptance of and fearfulness of
change. Subsequently, because of Toad s optimistic and accepting perspective on journey, the quote

Sailor Moon Research Paper
This article was written by Mary Grigsby with the intent to explain the massive worldwide
phenomenon of the manga, and later anime, Sailor Moon and how it was so effectively spread
across different cultures. Sailor Moon made its first appearance as a manga serialized in the
magazine Nakayosi before being adapted into an animethat began airing in March of 1992. The
anime was introduced to the United Statesin 1995, a year in which it was already the number one
action show for children in five other countries (Grigsby 59). Sailor Moon continued to grow in
popularity with musicals, films, CDs, video games, and status as a 1.5 billion dollar merchandise
franchise (Grigsby 59). This merchandise was not limited to just the intended... Show more content

Many manga and anime characters began to resemble westerners, such as Sailor Moon s blonde
hair and blue eyes, after the American occupation of Japan in which western physical looks were
seen as ideal (Grigsby 69). Sailor Moon s large eyes are also seen as romantic, innocent, and
feminine, which are desirable characteristics associated with women in Japan. However, Sailor
Moon was still able to transform and fight like a superhero with these juvenile characteristics.
These characteristics are not just desirable to the young girls who want to be as powerful and
beautiful as Sailor Moon, but also are adored by older men who see the Sailor Scouts as sexual
playthings (Grisby 72). The internet has also made Sailor Moon more readily available to both
older men and for fans around the world who are able to access translations of the manga,
furthering Sailor Moon s status as a global commodity. In conclusion, Sailor Moon had the potential
for status as a global commodity because of how the anime presented gender characteristics that can

The Pros And Cons Of The Juvenile Justice System
Blended sentencing laws which give courts discretion in some cases to impose juvenile and/or
adult sentences on young offenders became popular during the 1990s as a means of broadening
the spectrum of available sanctions. These laws variously allow courts to impose: 1. An adult or a
juvenile sentence; 2. Both a juvenile and an adult sentence; or 3. A sentence that exceeds the
normal limit of juvenile court jurisdiction. Since 2002, Ohio has provided a blended sentencing
alternative for designated serious youth offenders, who receive both a juvenile and an adult
sentence. The Ohio sentencing alternative was modeled on Minnesota s blended sentencing
alternative, referred to as Extended Juvenile Jurisdiction (EJJ). Under this system, the suspended
adult system sentence may be imposed if the offender does not comply with the terms of the
juvenile court sentence. The Minnesota and Ohio alternatives are sometimes referred to as a last
chance for young offenders to remain in the juvenile justice system. Both states have retained the
traditional option of transfer to adult court for serious juvenile offenders. Researchers who have
studied how prosecutorial decisions are made under these systems generally assume that
prosecutors use a two step process whereby they first decide whether a particular case involving a
juvenile defendant will be prosecuted in juvenile court or motioned for a specialized processing
track. In the second stage, prosecutors decide whether

In 2000, Gome Electrical Appliances was one of the biggest home appliances retail chain in China

Shanghai, Chengdu and Chongqing. It was the market leader in color television market and color
television accounted for 60 70% of Gome s turnover in 1999 and 70 80% of those were supplied by
domestic brands. The key marketing problems faced by Gome in 2000 are enumerated below:

The response of the consumer was very positive and Gome s belief in low price strategy was
reinstated. This breach of the rules set by the alliance led to another meeting of the nine
members of the alliance to decide on measures to compete with Gome. If the alliance step up its
actions against Gome, Gome should try and reach an agreement with Changhong whose
inventory was to the tune of 1.68 million television sets as of May 2000. It would be a win win
situation for both Changhong as well as Gome. As it is quite evident from the price cuts in Prima
color TVs that customers still welcome low prices, this could give great competitive advantage to
Gome. At the same time it should expand its network to the rural areas and upcoming urban areas
and start capturing more market share. At the same time, Gome should also use its goodwill with
foreign brands and use this opportunity to lure foreign investors into the market. This opening into
the growing China market for foreign brands would enable Gome to better negotiate with them and
achieve lowest prices for its products. This in turn would enable Gome to offer more variety to its
customers. In the meantime, Gome should raise public awareness against this alliance and create a
backlash in the market. All these steps would definitely weaken the alliance and force them to
retract. In the meantime, Gome should also start

Taming Of The Shrew Misogyny
The Taming of the Shrew, reflects the problematic nature of the play s central conception, often
taking eccentric casting and staging approaches in an effort to recapture the plays comic elements.
Criticisers claim that Petruchio is Katherina s rescuer, the prudent man who guides her to a better
and truer self. Unlike other misogynistic literature, this play mocks not only the womanherself in the
person of the shrew, but male attitudes towards women.
Shakespeare presents misogyny throughout the play but firstly starts at the beginning when
Katherina is forced by her father, Baptista, to get married to a man of his choice, unfortunately for
Katherina this man was Petruchio. Nowadays forced marriage is considered as cruel and demeaning
as we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

otherwise. Thy husband is thy lord, thy life, thy keeper, Thy head, thy sovereign; one that cares

watch the night in storms, the day in cold, Whilst thou li st warm at home, secure and safe; And
craves no other tribute at thy hands But love, fair looks, and true obedience Too little payment for
so great a debt. The final scene depicts the conclusion of the taming process when Katherina
delivers her famous speech that defines the marriage contract. Katherina understands that she must
give in to Petruchio if she is to find peace. Too little payment for so great a debt. This shows the
level of her transformation, Petruchio has finally tamed Katherina. Although we believe that
Katherina has been tamed by her husband, we have to take into consideration whether Katherina
does love Petruchio or if this is all a disguise. One critic named Pederson explains that Katherina s
final speech expresses a direct denial of the method by which Shakespeare allows Petruchio to tame
Katherina, because it asserts that the example of bad tempered, uncontrolled behaviour can only
bring about behaviour of the same kind in the learner, not a change to

Why Evolution Is True By Coyne Summary
In his book, Why Evolution is True, Coyne proposes five predictions of evolution and introduces
the idea of retrodictions. Both his prediction of common ancestry in the fossil record and his
retrodiction of vestigial structures can be observed through the lineage of the modern whale.
Creationists can reject this prediction and retrodiction, yet there is enough information disprove
their opinion. The history of whales provides a comprehensive fossil record that presents sufficient
information to explain the prediction and retrodiction introduced by Coyne. It has been discovered
that modern day whales can be traced back many generations, and each one can be considered a
transitional form. Approximately 60 million years ago, a wolf sized mesonychid called a Sinonyx
possessed an elongated muzzle, an enlarged jugular foramen, and a short basicranium (____). The

Creationists have strived to present functions for structures scientist consider vestigial or deny
the existence of them entirely. For example, it is stated on the website Creation Today that there
is no fossil evidence for loss of legs in whales and when referring to hind limbs, is an example of
losing something, not gaining something. They go on to ask, How could losing something help
an organism evolve or be proof that they were evolving? As previously mentioned, there are many
transitional forms of whales, dating back 60 million years ago. These ancestors were capable of
walking, but because of environmental pressures this trait was no longer selected for, creating a
new species. Natural selection in this species, selected for more aquatic like traits, which caused
them to become more refined over time. Losing legs allowed the whales to become completely
aquatic creatures. Losing the hind legs and still having remnants of these structures is undeniable

The Film Rocky Horror Picture Show By Richard O Brien Essay
In the film Rocky Horror Picture Show, the character Dr. Frank N Furter sings the words, So I ll
remove the cause, but not the symptom (O Brien) . This cult classic musical written by Richard O
Brien follows a newly engaged couple through a sexual journey as they lose their innocence and
start to conform to traditional gender stereotypes. Today youth of America are being bombarded
with conflicting ideas about gender, race and sex. These conflicting ideas can lead to skewed
visions on what defines masculinity and what defines femininity. Furthermore, sexual assaulton
college campuses by men and particularly student athletes have come to the forefront of many
news headlines in recent years and while some believe that sexual assault stems from locker room
culture , it stems from a skewed sense of masculinity that has been created over years of
consuming media. Many try to educate these same men on what defines consent and how to
properly act in sexual situations, but this is merely trying put a temporary solution on a much
larger issue. If people wanted the systemic issue of sexual assault to be reduced, then the root cause
must be removed. A twisted systemic view of masculinity is the root cause of many sexual assaults
because a twisted view of masculinity causes unhealthy understanding of sexuality and consent as
seen in college.

Public Perception Of The Social Contract Theory
The sway of public perception in the negative direction can be detrimental to one s political
campaign. That s why blasting spam mail that can alter the results of an election is something of
questionable moral standards. A few pieces of information were omitted that could have helped
form a more complete answer: which political party is being hurt? What is in the email? How
detrimental was the content to the injured candidate? Knowing that I am politically biased, I know
I would agree with the decision if I supported one candidate and it led to him or her winning;
however, I will look into the issue ignoring this idea. Upon reflection, I decided that virtueethicsis
the best theory to use in regards to politics. In most instances, I subscribe to the Social Contract
theory. I personally believe that the people who are making the rules with which they have to
comply are inherently going to leave loopholes and other tricks that they can use to their
advantage. I also think elections are a different animal than using technology for a Nigerian
prince scam or selling a phone that explodes when you charge it. For instances such as these, the
law is both fair and just. Conversely, I do not approve of the vast majority of laws when they relate
to how to conduct oneself while running a political campaign. Making the rules of your own game
tends to lead to unfair practices. The first thing I considered in this dilemma were the alternate ways

Differences Between Communism And Communism
Capitalism:
Capitalism is an economic and political system in which a country s trade and industry are
controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state
Communism:
Economic and social system in which all (or nearly all) property and resources are collectively
owned by a classless society and not by individual citizens.
Difference between Capitalism and Communism:
Capitalism and Communism are different from each other in their ideologies. One of the most
significant differences found between capitalism and communism is related to the resources or the
means of production. In communism the state owns the resources or the means of production
whereas in capitalism a private owner has the complete control of the resources or the means of
production. Capitalism is driven by the free enterprise and the profit gained in these enterprises in a

middle and lower. Capitalism system can lead to exploitation of individuals. In the capitalism the
system is democratic whereas in communism the system is totalitarian it is a political system in
which the government has total control on the lives of its citizens. The wealth is distributed
unevenly in capitalism whereas in communism the wealth is distributed equally. Capitalism and
Communism both have different ideas as well. According to Capitalism people need freedom.

Pros And Cons Of Lowering The Drinking Age

devastated by the loss, your families lives have been changed forever. Accidents like these occur
and leave families in shambles, and the number of these accidents would be much higher if the
legal drinking agewas lowered to eighteen years old. By keeping the drinking age at twenty one
years old we would efficiently reduce the number of these tragic accidents. The minimum legal
drinking age (MLDA) is a controversial issue over whether or not it should be lowered to the
age of eighteen. It is shown that keeping the MLDA of twenty one would benefit society in
multiple ways. A MLDA of twenty one was historically shown to be better than an age of
eighteen, by showing it saved lives. A drinking age of twenty one also proves to be more beneficial
for the adolescent brain, would change college drinking, and would reduce the number of drunk
driving accidents. While many students think lowering the minimum legal drinking age (MLDA)

In an incendiary blend of form and deep meaning, Parker is able to relay a precautionary tale to

message. Her diction is simplified, yet astutely worded to convey a concise message to her reader.

Another disadvantage is that this follows what the law is saying but it doesn t actually follow
what the law was originally intended for. This rule works well for keeping the parliament the
supreme law maker as it is not changed or altered in any way when in the courts, but it is not an
effective method use to judge a case as it can crate large loop holes where people are able to

Literary Point Of Forshadowing In Monkey s Paw
The author of The Monkey s Paw, W.W. Jacobs uses many literary techniques to create suspense.
The story is about an old man named Mr. White who gets a monkey s paw with magical powers,
he wishes for 200 pounds. He also loses his son during the process. To create suspense and convey
the point of the story Jacobs uses literary techniques such as, mood, imagery, and foreshadowing.
One of the first techniques he uses is foreshadowing. Before Sergeant Major Morris gives Mr.
White the paw, he describes the fakir who cursed the paw, he said, He wanted to show that fate
ruled people s lives and those who interfered with it so did their sorrow (paragraph 26). This
evidence reveals that the paw is cursed by a fakir who wants to teach people a lesson about
interfering with fate when they wish for things that aren t destined to happen. Because of this the
reader can conclude that the wishes will not have the desired outcome. In addition, when the
whites inquire more about the paw, Morris throws it into the fire and warns them of the
consequences after Mr. White quickly retrieves it (paragraph 31 and 44). The reader can infer
from this that Morris doesn t want Mr. White to have the paw. However, Mr. White reaches his
hand in the fire and risks burning himself to retrieve the paw. You can also tell from this that

The Wrongful Conviction Of Juan Rivera
Written Assignment: The Wrongful Conviction of Juan Rivera
Aric Hermelin
March 31st, 2015
LSO102BA
Kimberly Costello
Part I On November 19th, 1993 Juan Rivera was convicted for the August 17th, 1992 rape and
murder of then eleven year old Holly Staker, who at the time was babysitting her two siblings
(University of Michigan Law School). His wrongful conviction was the result of failures by not
only the public, but also law enforcement personnel and the criminal justice system, as we will
further examine. According to the University of Michigan s Law School, Juan Rivera s initial
arrest came on October 26th after Lake County Police received a tip from an informant. Rivera was
then questioned for four days and at the end of the fourth day Rivera falsely confessed to Staker
s rape and murder (University of Michigan Law School). Following his confession, the two
interrogators went on to type a confession for Rivera to sign. After obtaining Rivera s signature,
however, the prosecutor found the narrative to be incohesive, and asked the interrogators to
correct it and to obtain Rivera s signature on the second written confession. Rivera s signature was
later obtained on October 30th (University of Michigan Law School). Of course, it is tough to
comprehend why a reasonable and innocent individual such as Mr. Rivera would confess to a crime
he did not commit (Gould). Upon further review, however, there were notable flaws as to how this
case was treated. To

Effective Communication, And Conflict Management
Patient safety is a top priority for all healthcare providers. Yet medical errors are ranked the eighth
leading cause of death. Medication administration errors often result from multiple environmental
and individual factors (Yoder, Schadewald, Dietrich, 2015, p. 140). Nurses are faced with several
interruptions including other health care professionals, patients, and family members.
Environmental factors such as: phone calls, call lights, alarms, malfunctioning equipment, and
emergency situations can distract the nurseand prevent the nurse from administrating medications
successfully. Research has shown that the most interruptions were from conversations with other
personnel or stopping to do another patient care task (Yoder et al., 2015). The purpose of our paper
is to discuss how collaboration, effective communication, and conflict management can improve the
nursing medication administration process by both the intraprofessional and the interprofessional
teams. The intraprofessional team is comprised of nurses that work on the unit and nurses who
work on other units who may try to communicate with the nurse who is administering medications.
The interprofessional team is made up of patient care technicians, the unit secretary, physicians, and
other disciplines such as physical therapy, social work, pharmacy, and case management. The
interprofessional team can also distract or disrupt the nurse trying to administer medications by
asking about another patient being

The Pros And Cons Of Bonds
Bonds are income investments used to raise capital whereby investors loan out their finances
usually to Municipalities, Corporations or Governmental (Siegal Yacht, 2009) entities who
borrow the required funds for a specific period of time agreed upon by both parties (bond issuer and
bond holder) at a regular or fixed interestrate (Investopedia, 2018). The bondissuer is the person or
company selling or borrowing bonds while the bond holder is the person or investor buying or
lending bonds (in other words, the bond holder acts as a bank loaning his money to the bond
issuer). Bonds have several features but the main ones are:
Bonds carry interest which is also called Coupons that are paid to the bond holder (for using his
money) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But when it makes losses, you lose out as well.
As a new shareholder, you have the right to voice out your opinions and contribute whatever ideas
you may have, make decisions that might benefit the company or those in relation to how it is run.
How stocks are traded
Stocks are traded on stock exchanges after a company completes an Initial Public Offering (IPO)
because its shares now become public and are ready to be traded (Hayes, 2018). This is a very
straightforward way of investing unlike bonds that can be time consuming and mostly involve a lot
of documentation. Every country has stock exchanges (physical or electronic) where investors go
whenever they want to buy or sell stocks.
How to Calculate an Annual Rate of Return
Annual Rate of Return this is the interest rate that is earned on an investment for the whole year
(Investopedia, 2018). It is calculated by first adding any income earned to the total obtained after
subtracting the end of year amount earned with the beginning of the year amount. After this, divide
the total amount obtained by the original amount invested at the beginning of the year. This can
further be illustrated as

  • 2. Reflection Paper On Public Relations Throughout the semester, the speakers have reaffirmed the fact that I would like to go into Public Relations. They have told me everything I already know about the business including writing is key and that networking is important. However, they have also mentioned things that I had not yet thought of before such as business papers are a lifesaver, charity is a must, getting to know your client is important and plenty more. Being able to hear first hand about the business and what it takes to be successful in the future has helped me prepare for any future jobs or internships. In our first class with a speaker, Kelly Rossman discussed about while the social media and writingis a key aspect of Public Relationsyou must also look at the business part of Public Relations. The business aspect you should have includes partner agreements, no competition contracts, confidentiality agreements and more. All of these things help your business run smoothly and ensure that your customers are protected. When dealing with people you never know what is going to happen because they are so unpredictable. • 6. Saying Goodbye To My Brother Saying goodbye to my brother was one of the hardest moments in my life. Even though he came from a broken home, he was not a low life criminal that committed heinous crimes. I regret the preconceived ideas I had of him, and I remember what he taught me. Although people come from all walks of life, they should not be judged before meeting them and finding out who they really are. CCCRRREEEAAAKKK! The sound of the front door scratching on the wood broke my hypnotic trance. Looking into the blackness of the night, I search for the only source of light in the room. Staring at the glowing light of my alarm clock, I attempt to form an explanation for why one of my parents has left the house. Suddenly, the deafening roar of my father s truck blasts through the silence. I stumble to my window trying to catch a glimpse of the midnight rider who was vanishing into the darkness. Anxiously awaiting the return of the shadowy figure, I gaze out the window for what felt like an eternity until the luminous light of the truck penetrates the pitch black night. Struggling to make out faces, I recognize my father standing next to my oldest brother s friend. I question why my father has allowed this troubled teenager to invade our home in the middle of the night. Forcing myself to suppress the hundreds of questions racing through my mind, I try to slip back into my deep slumber. Instantly, my world began to rumble and my ears were impacted with the booming sound of a woman saying the same obscured line over and over. All of the sudden, I realize the voice is my mom telling me to wake up. I open my eyes and see both my parents standing over me. Before I even utter a word, they tell me that Caleb s friend, Jake, will be staying with us for a while. Before I even have a chance to protest, they were out the door, and I was left there to deal with my mixed emotions. Of course, I would have to confront this miscreant living in the same house of me, but how to approach him was still lost to me. I decided to go straight up to him and ask him what he was doing here. A rather varying category of factors fall under the study of a social policy; these factors such as literacy, health, employment and crime comprise of perhaps the most major implications on the wellbeing of a society s members, therefore it can also be said that the social policy is the study of the systems of a society that constitute its members wellbeing (Reisch). If the area is not involved in any type of groups for instance, religious groups, neighborhood watch program, crime prevention program etc, many different programs they have available keep citizens, especially youths out of trouble because neighbors are constantly keeping an eye out, and spreading wisdom to the children as well. Thus, we conceptualize informal social control as the willingness of neighborhood residents to actively engage in behaviors aimed at preventing criminal and deviant behavior in the local area, with a particular emphasis on the deviant behavior of youth, (Silver and Miller, 2004, p.553). Another key factor is social cohesion; this is the blocks capacity to be able to take away from crime and deviance to a minimum. Account for the growth of TNCs and evaluate their impacts at the global and national scales (40 marks) A TNC (transnational corporation) is a company that operates in no less than two countries and has a global outlook. TNCs have a long history going back to the 16th Century in terms of trade such as spices, but it s not until C. 1945 that companies started to form acquisitions and mergers. The one key reason why these businesses have been so successful in their area of expertise globally is because they can take advantage of spatial differences in the factors of production worldwide. Athens stock exchange is a lot smaller than it used to be, which has meant the general economic sickness in the country depresses prices of all companies there. The cart is symbolic of Toad s ambitious nature, which is manifested through his jubilant tone and positive attitude in response to change and adventure. The anime was introduced to the United Statesin 1995, a year in which it was already the number one action show for children in five other countries (Grigsby 59). However, Sailor Moon was still able to transform and fight like a superhero with these juvenile characteristics. These characteristics are not just desirable to the young girls who want to be as powerful and beautiful as Sailor Moon, but also are adored by older men who see the Sailor Scouts as sexual playthings (Grisby 72). The internet has also made Sailor Moon more readily available to both older men and for fans around the world who are able to access translations of the manga, furthering Sailor Moon s status as a global commodity. • 24. The Pros And Cons Of The Juvenile Justice System Blended sentencing laws which give courts discretion in some cases to impose juvenile and/or adult sentences on young offenders became popular during the 1990s as a means of broadening the spectrum of available sanctions. These laws variously allow courts to impose: 1. An adult or a juvenile sentence; 2. Both a juvenile and an adult sentence; or 3. A sentence that exceeds the normal limit of juvenile court jurisdiction. Since 2002, Ohio has provided a blended sentencing alternative for designated serious youth offenders, who receive both a juvenile and an adult sentence. The Ohio sentencing alternative was modeled on Minnesota s blended sentencing alternative, referred to as Extended Juvenile Jurisdiction (EJJ). Under this system, the suspended adult system sentence may be imposed if the offender does not comply with the terms of the juvenile court sentence. The Minnesota and Ohio alternatives are sometimes referred to as a last chance for young offenders to remain in the juvenile justice system. Both states have retained the traditional option of transfer to adult court for serious juvenile offenders. Researchers who have studied how prosecutorial decisions are made under these systems generally assume that prosecutors use a two step process whereby they first decide whether a particular case involving a juvenile defendant will be prosecuted in juvenile court or motioned for a specialized processing track. Criticisers claim that Petruchio is Katherina s rescuer, the prudent man who guides her to a better and truer self. Unlike other misogynistic literature, this play mocks not only the womanherself in the person of the shrew, but male attitudes towards women. This shows the level of her transformation, Petruchio has finally tamed Katherina. Although we believe that Katherina has been tamed by her husband, we have to take into consideration whether Katherina does love Petruchio or if this is all a disguise. Creationists can reject this prediction and retrodiction, yet there is enough information disprove their opinion. The history of whales provides a comprehensive fossil record that presents sufficient information to explain the prediction and retrodiction introduced by Coyne. It has been discovered that modern day whales can be traced back many generations, and each one can be considered a transitional form. The story is about an old man named Mr. White who gets a monkey s paw with magical powers, he wishes for 200 pounds. He also loses his son during the process. To create suspense and convey the point of the story Jacobs uses literary techniques such as, mood, imagery, and foreshadowing. One of the first techniques he uses is foreshadowing. Before Sergeant Major Morris gives Mr. White the paw, he describes the fakir who cursed the paw, he said, He wanted to show that fate ruled people s lives and those who interfered with it so did their sorrow (paragraph 26). This evidence reveals that the paw is cursed by a fakir who wants to teach people a lesson about interfering with fate when they wish for things that aren t destined to happen. Because of this the reader can conclude that the wishes will not have the desired outcome. In addition, when the whites inquire more about the paw, Morris throws it into the fire and warns them of the consequences after Mr. White quickly retrieves it (paragraph 31 and 44). The reader can infer from this that Morris doesn t want Mr. White to have the paw. However, Mr. White reaches his hand in the fire and risks burning himself to retrieve the paw.
