The Teleological Argument
The Teleological Argument, also known as the Argument from Design, is an argument that claims
that God designed the world, and he designed it with a purpose as teleological comes from the
Greek word telos , meaning end or purpose . It is an ГЎ posteriori argument which gathers
evidence and uses our experiences of things from life. It is empirical and also an inductive
argument and is based on the premises that; complex things in the world have been created by a
designer, the world is complex and looks designed, therefore, the world must have a designer that
designer is God. The conclusion is, at best, highly probably but not certain.
The most popular version of the Design Argument is that by William Paley which appeared in his

Essay on The Book of Genesis Sets the Stage for the Bible
The Book of Genesis has served as a work of literature to the western civilization for the past two
thousand years. The word Genesis simply means origins or beginnings . This book sets the
stage for the bible, telling us of God s ultimate plan for humanity. It also speaks about the nature
of God as creator and redeemer as well as the value of human life. Consequences for disobedience
and sin are shown; separating man from God. We will also see the promise of salvation and
forgiveness of man due to God s grace. However, what does the book of Genesissay about the
portrayal of women? From the very beginning of Genesis, in the description of the Eden story,
tension arises between Eve and the divine process. Eve is tricked by the serpent... Show more

After the seven years, Jacob goes to Laban and asks for Rachel s hand. Laban instead tricks Jacob
and gives his eldest daughter Leah. Jacob finds out the next morning and is then tricked again
into working another seven years so he can marry Rachel. Jacob is then married to both women.
Jacob loved Rachel and despised Leah and because of this, God made Rachel barren. Jacob
continued to hate Leah until she conceived and bare him four sons. Rachel begins to feel
worthless because she cannot give her husband any children. Rachel comes up with a plan to
give Jacob children. Bilhah, Rachel s maid is offered to Jacob by his wife to carry his child.
Bilhah conceives and bare Jacob another son. All throughout Genesis, a woman s value relies on
her ability to conceive and her subservience to her husband. Women are never allowed to travel
alone and must remain under their father or their husband s authority. As a whole, the women in
Genesis are portrayed as obstacles to dominant goals due to nonfulfillment of roles. Since Rachel
and Leah both offered up their maids to Jacob to bare children, Jacob ends up with four wives.
Polygamy is documented throughout the Bible and there is no evidence of disapproval from God
portrayed.. However, when we talk about marriage today, using the Bible as reference, it is said
that it needs to be between one man and one woman. God is looking

The Impact Of Old-Time Radio Era On American Culture
There have been many different aspects that have come out of the old time radio era that have
impacted our culture today. It was not just the news that people learned about it was also
entertainment. Usually, in a time when there was nothing to be happy about. In order for us to
understand the difference that these people made in the lives of others. It needs to be
understood why they were created and where they came from. Also, it was not just about the
actors, it was the story lines and the dramas that helped people escape and either enjoy a good
thriller or comedy show. A radio drama is a dramatized performance, broadcasted on the radio or it
was published on audio media for instance a tape or CD. These tapes became very popular during...

While this is usually not necessarily a lousy concept, the fiasco on October 31st, 1938 between
8 and 9 PM said a different story. The WABC radio broadcast network decided to air an episode
of, The Mercury Theatre on the Air . Directed by Orson Welles the group performed their
adaption of, The war of the Worlds , written by Howard Koch s. The actors in the group did such
a marvelous job that people listening in actually believed that they were listening to a live news
report of a sure enough alien invasion. This broadcast caused such a mass panic that now when
you are watching or listening to mockumentary or fake broadcast there is always a disclaimer.
According to an article run in the, Daily News titled, Fake Radio war Stirs Terror Through U.S., in
1938. It stated that, Thousands flee. Without waiting for further details, thousands of listeners
rushed from their homes in New York and New Jersey, many with towels across their faces to
protect themselves from gas which the invader was supposed to be spewing forth. Simultaneously,
thousands more in states that stretched west to California and south to the Gulf of Mexico rushed
to their telephones to inquire of newspapers, the police, switchboard operators, and electric
companies what they should do to protect themselves. (George Dixon,

Apollo vs. Green Arrow
Apollo and Green Arrow/ Oliver Queen When I first learned about the Greek god Apollo in my
Classical Mythology class, he reminded me of Oliver Queen. Oliver Queen is a character from
one of my favorite television show called Smallville . He inherited a big industrial empire from
his parents when they passed away. He was a playboy who did not care to give back to the
society and only did what pleases him. One day, when Oliver was out on his boat, he was pushed
overboard into the sea by an employee. After being marooned on an island, he learned to hunt and
improved his survival skills. He later found a small settlement on the island and saw that some of
the islanders were cruelly disposed of in a nearby well. It shocked him and he became... Show more

Oliver was also seen kissing a girl named Marianne now and then. ( Scott McCullar s Green
Arrow Compendium ) Throughout his first appearance in Smallville, Oliver was seen dating
Lois Lane, the future wife of Superman. They had differences that cannot be overcome and their
relationship ended. After that, Oliver seemed to rekindle with an on and off old flame Tess Mercer,
who was also Lex Luthor s, Oliver s enemy, ex wife. She is also very cunning and self
perseverative. She only cared for herself and fled when Oliver came into trouble. She later came
back to be a good friend and support system for the vigilante team. Oliver also had flings with
Betsy Braddock and Adrienne Frost. Betsy Braddock was noticed by Oliver because she had
psychic abilities. Oliver came across Adrienne Frost because she seemed to have telepathic
abilities. ( Smallville Season 6 10 ) Oliver s fascination with these two ladies especially reminded
me of Apollo and his .... Oliver s latest and last known relationship is with Chole Sullivan and
they have a child together. While there are many similarities between Apollo and Oliver Queen,
there are also several differences. Apollo is the God of Prophecy; therefore he or his oracles are
prophetic and can know what will happen in the future. While their answers are ambiguous, the
oracle or the priests who interpret them still seemed to predict well enough. (Mayerson 124) Among

The Five Characteristics Of The Five Sources Of Power
A leader has many important characteristics. One of these important characteristics is power.
Without power, leaders would not be able to influence their followers to achieve their goals
ethically. There are five main sources of power for leaders. The influence that leaders have using
these sources could be either negative or positive.
My Research to Answer the Question:
In 1959 John French and Bertram Raven stated significant theories regarding the source of power in
their article The Bases of Power and suggested that there are five sources of power. These
sources are placed into Organizational Powers and Personal Powers. Organizational Power
contains Legitimate, Coercive, and Reward power while Personal Power contains Expert and
Referent power or Connections power (Merchant., n.d.). Raven then added another power source
called Informational power six years later (Prescott, 2015). Other sources of power that are not
part of the theory that French and Raven stated are Moral power and Political power.
Legitimate power, also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I agree with this statement due to the fact that employees who are working without job security,
and are working out of fear rather out of love will not work effectively, nor will they be loyal to
their employers and would quit when they get the first chance to or find another job. The
employee would oblige to the task in fear of facing the consequences of not doing it (Prescott,
2015). In order for this to happen, the followers must believe that the leader has the ability to
what he or she is threatening to do (Leadership Power, n.d.). Thus, this power gives the leader
control over behaviors and causes the employees to stick to the rules and guidelines of the
organization but it could also cause the followers to be unhappy (Prescott, 2015). An example
could be that of a mother who threatens her child to go into a time out if he or she fails to behave in

Destructive Zero Defect
Throughout history, the U.S. military has enjoyed a reputation of being one of the most respected
and reliable organizations in the United States. Although the military continues to make every
effort to achieve excellence, the very real threat of drawdowns and budget cuts have constrained
and forced leaders to change the way they conduct business. Even though the objective remains to
be building a stronger and superior force, the latest changes to policy have ushered in a destructive
zero defect attitude within its ranks. This is not the first time the military has gone through this
process. In the late 1990s, it was decided that the large, post Cold war Army was too expensive
and unwieldy, so changes were made to force out those deemed unfit

Information On Geographic Information Science
Geographic Information Science:
It is the general term for mapping technologies which was used by different sectors and it was the
foundation for Geographic Information Systems. It spatial data in the form of

пѓ Digital Aerial Photos
пѓ Remotely sensed Imagery
пѓ Global positioning system Coordinates.
These helps assess, plan and control many facets of society.
Some Important characteristics Geographic Information.
1. It is often relatively static.
Natural features and many human features of human s origin don t change rapidly.
Only static data can be displayed on a static paper map.

ESRI (Environmental Systems Research Institute) which they used the methods of CGIS and newer
second generation techniques. For good Information tool and efficient mapping it undergone a
many technological updates till now.
GIS is no way related to other traditional graphics system in many aspects.
First the coordinates of a particular forecasting system is georeferenced by using it data. So, it can
correct the positions of features of Earth s surface and maintain spatial relations hips between
mapped characteristics. So that common data which are reference to each other can be overlaid and
differentiate to distinguish relation between data elements.
For E.g. Soils and wet land of a particular area can be differentiate and overlaid to determine the
similarity between hydric soils and wetlands.
Second, for particular spatial features the GIS technology use the relational data base technologies
allocate a series of aspects.
E.g. To find the attributes of a particular polygon, a series of data base

of calculations easier. Firstly, it was assumed that the distribution of the weight of the Freddo
Frogs was normally distributed. In addition to this, it was assumed that each of the Freddo Frogs
was produced through the same machine, this way the amount of random errors would be reduced
in the production of the Freddo Frog. However, if any systematic errors were to occur, then it
would go unnoticed as the Freddo Frogs would all have similar masses. Thus, affecting the results

It is important to ensure that there is a fair, open and honest culture around complaints so that
people feel confident in bringing concerns to the attention of the service provider without fear of
retribution.
Vulnerable people or those who find it difficult to make their views heard should be protected and
have access to adequate support.
Each organisation should have in place a complaints procedure. This information leaflet is in the
service users care plan. Part of the role of the carer is to make the complaints procedure available
for people to use. Also to assist in making complaints, either directly, by supporting them in
following the procedure or indirectly by making sure that they are aware of the complaints
procedure and are able to follow it.

Ecological Change in New England under Native Americans...
Although the colonial history of New England has been thoroughly researched and taught across all
levels of educational institutes across the United States, the study of its environmental history often
takes a backseat to America s complex and enthralling social and political history. This trend has
been abating in recent decades, given that more Americans have taken an interest in their
environment and conservation, and in response to this new demand the field of environmental
history was initiated by historians like William Cronon, who explores the changes in the New
Englandenvironment under the stewardship of Native Americans and European colonist in Changes

The popular view among the colonists regarding their deep ecological footprint was that it was
furnished by an approving God, meaning that they could utilize this blessing as they saw fit. Using
the land to farm and graze animals was in their view, improving the land, and thus another signifier
that they held more of a right to own it, as opposed to the lazier Native Americans who tended to
hunt and gather food more than the colonists. Cronon gives us good insight into the sound
methodology that historians used to determine the environment at that point, from primary sources
describing the environment or various phenomenon, to the presence of various local statutes
dealing with the environment that hinted at the changing state of the colonial settlements and
wilderness. From most accounts, it seems that most colonists were unaware of the complex
relations that existed between them, Native Americans, and the environment. Cronon s work
meticulously details the chasm between the colonial and Native American outlooks on the
environment and on each other. Europeans were grounded in a mercantile economy and judged
the environment by the resources it afforded an aspiring entrepreneur who had to find a way to
turn a profit and repay debts and other capital expenditures (20). Many letters sent back to the Old
World by colonists detailed the abundance of flora

English Language Learning Through Immersion
As a second language learner myself, I am perhaps guilty of mispronunciation, guilty of having an
accent, and most of all guilty of making numerous grammatical errors. Learning a completely new
language is not easy. It takes time, knowledge, and a lot of effort and motivation in respect to the
learner. There is a clear distinction between structured language learning in a classroom and
language learning through immersion. Classroom learning is solely based on knowing and
memorizing vocabulary words, while immersion forces an individual to recognize grammatical and
lexical morphemes along with sentence structure in a spoken way. The clear distinction between
structured language learning in a classroom and language learning through immersion... Show more

Classroom setting has a fixed structured setting that follows specific curriculums which aims more
towards accuracy, as well as passing exams in order to receive a good grade without actually

students have to make polite requests or conjecture about the future... (p. 23). Applying concepts
into real life situations and contexts could deepen an individual s knowledge about almost
everything, including language. Schulz (1991) directly states that Formal instruction can
temporarily improve performance on discrete point tests, but apparently has relatively little
influence on spontaneous language use (p. 20) which is crucial for second language learning. For
some students learning rules could be dry and boring also which could cause apathy in the
classroom. When students memorize grammar rules and vocabulary words, it tends to be easily
forgotten. Besides, taking a language class for a quarter per se, is not sufficient as it takes time to
know morphologies and different terms and expressions of another language. Therefore, classroom
setting not the best way to learn a second language. On the other hand, language immersion

Sales Process Improvement Pl A Key Part Of The Sales
Sales Process Improvement Plan
A key part of the sales process is understanding sales across our region in a way that we can drive
marketing, sales associate performance and overall regional performance. Our current sales
tracking approach is sporadic in nature and left up to each individual sales associate, which makes
trending and decision making across the region difficult. Implementing a standardized sales
tracking process across our sales force will allow us to better understand our wins, our losses,
lessons learned from both, and the performance of individual sales associates and our collective
sales team. Selecting a process as well as the specific software from within our sales team can be
one major mechanism for us to jump ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(1997). We have seen excellent financial results as we have penetrated markets, grown, and had
the luxury of economy of scale in our production which has been manageable from a change
perspective. Coming from a start up, though, our sales process is anecdotal in nature and each
sales associate is allowed to cover a district within the region using their own approaches. This has
led to sporadic tracking of client contacts, client sales, reasons for wins or losses from major
distribution proposals, increases/decreases with individual clients, and overall client satisfaction.
This lack of a solid database of sales information leads to an inability to identify trends, difficulty in
understanding true sales associate performance, and makes management decision making around
existing and new products difficult. I recommend that we implement a systematic sales tracking
process across all of our sales associates that allows for better understanding of our performance,
allows for trending of that performance, and allows for future decisions to be made based upon a
stronger base of information.
Necessary Change in Sales Tracking
A standardized process for tracking product sales integrated with a software product designed for
tracking sales will enable our sales associates to focus their efforts more effectively. Side benefits
of such a process will include better understanding of marketing effectiveness, trending of
performance by management of individual products

The s Theory Of The Tripartite Soul And Sigmund Freud s...
Moral Compass
Navigation helps individuals arrive to a given destination, but the human life also requires of such
navigation. Some individuals unconsciously seek directions when challenged with a given issue
and know which way to steer because of their moral compass. Furthermore, the moral compass is
the soul that guides the personal self, but it is also the non material aspect of a human being that is
immortal. Although, the soul s existence is in question, there is evidence that validates that the soul
is real. Such evidence includes Plato s theory of the tripartite soul and Sigmund Freud s
psychodynamic theory, which reevaluates Plato s theory. Both theories address that the soul s
existence is the personality of a human being.
On the other hand, many critics claim that the soul does not exist since it is beyond our knowledge;
therefore we cannot demonstrate such existence. Hume a philosopher during the Enlightenment
affirms this claim under the branch of empiricism, which states that true knowledge, arises from our
five senses: touch, smell, sight, taste, and hearing. Therefore, to determine if something exists at
least one or all of the senses have to be applied since the material aspects of something
demonstrates its existence. Moreover, the reasoning behind empiricism is an addition to Hume s
theory of sense perception. The theory is composed of two elements, which are impressions and
ideas. Impressions are immediate sensations or perceptions such as touch or

Spinal Cord Injury Report
1 Specic Aims
Spinal cord injury (SCI) represents a major clinical, social and economical problem that has
currently no cure. In the United States, an estimated of 276,000 people live with a SCI [1]. It is
now widely accepted that in individuals with incomplete spinal cord lesions there is some
preservation of sensory and/or motor functions caudal to the level of injury that oer a pathway to
recover some locomotor functions [2].
Increasing experimental evidence of axonal sprouting, long term changes in spinal re exes and
synapses, and modication of synaptic strength represent the neurological bases for spinal cord
neuroplasticity [3].

As previously shown [19], [23], there is a voluntary response in incomplete SCI due to epidural
stimulation and stepping training sessions, thus we expect to see a voluntary response in all
groups. Due to the motor tasks proposed, we anticipate that the voluntary response is augmented in
both intervention groups compared to the control group, and it is also increased within each group
over time.
Potential Problems and Alternative Strategies: Due to the limitations encountered after a spinal
cord injury and the variability in responses due to injury level, the training protocols proposed might
be challenging.
Full body weight standing and increased load bearing during walking on an inclined treadmill
would be one of the challenges encountered due to the rapid bone density decrease and muscle
atrophy in the rst two years after a spinal cord lesion [49]. To overcome this, we target individuals
at the beginning of the chronic stage of a SCI (6 months) when this degradation is not advanced.
This intervention might

Bad Grades Equals No Driver’s License
Bad Grades Equals No Driver s License: Bad Policy Imagine if you were in high school and you
weren t the brightest student, which resulted in bad grades, and then there was a policy made
where you couldn t even get your driver s license until your grades got up and stayed up. This is a
policy that is being debated on by some legislators who think it s a good policy and some who don t
think it s such a good policy. I would be siding with the legislators who don t think it s a good
policy. It s not a good policy because I feel like it s not really the legislators place. Also, students
would be getting good grades for the wrong reasons. Lastly, someone s academic in school doesn t

This statistic proves how not many students are doing as good, considering the majority of them
scored below basics . However, if we were to pass the policy then the score would most likely
rise because students would be working harder in school and doing what they need to do. It could
possibly give the student a better comprehension level and decision making level, so when they
do begin driving the people around them along with themselves will be safer. However, their
argument would be invalid considering that students grades/ intelligence level and their driving
skills don t have anything to do with the other. If students are getting good grades in school it
doesn t necessarily mean that their driving skills are going to be equal with the intelligence level.
Besides, in an article it reads that, The mean grade point average for female high school graduates
was 3.10 in 2009, .33 higher than the average GPA for young women in 1990. The average GPA
for male high school graduates over the same period rose .31 points to 2.90. and that, Some say
this means American high schools are churning out smarter, harder working students. ( U.S.
News). This evidence proves that the policy that students should have good grades before they can
receive their license is unnecessary because students are already doing better grade wise. I can t

Research Paper On Group Dynamics
Groups are the basic fundamental units of an organization. Groups accomplish more work in less
time than a number of people working individually. The interactions that take place among the
members of a group are referred to as a group dynamics.
Within an organization, a work group is usually the primary source of social identity for employees.
The nature of the group to which they belong may affect their performance at work and may
influence their relationships with people outside the organisation.
The various interactions that take place among the members of a group comprise group dynamics.
The term group dynamics was popularized by the management thinker, Kurt Lewin, in the 1930 s
There are three views regarding the nature of group dynamics. The normative view describes how a
group is to be organized and how its activities are to be carried out. This view emphasizes
democratic leadership, participation of the members, and cooperation among them. According to
the second view, group dynamics consists of a set of techniques. These techniques include role
plays, brainstorming, sensitivity training, team building, transactional analysis, Johari window and
self managed teams. Finally, the third view approaches group dynamics from the perspective of the
internal nature of groups. This view discusses how groups are formed, their structure and processes,
and their functioning. It also discussed how groups affect individual members, other groups, and

Vassalage And Senmenment In The Song Of Roland, Oliver And...
The word, vassalage will have a different meaning to different people and their personalities. This
will cause people to argue about how to deal with situations and what course of action is the best
option.
According to Merriam Webster Dictionary, vassalage is defined as a position of subordination or
submission to a political power. While a vassal is someone who is under the protection of someone
with authority such as a feudal lord. This person (vassal) will feel obligated to vow their loyalty
to that person in power. In The Song of Roland , Oliver and Roland both have a different
definition on what makes a great vassal. This paper will discuss both viewpoints on what makes a
marvelous vassal , why the poet used Roland and Oliver to balance out vassals, and a brief
understanding of vassalage and fief holding.
First, a vassal and fief holding is more than just someone of lower status being obedient to their
ruler and using their land to pay them. According to Britannica, some vassals were apart of their
lord s court as household knights. Although, vassals who did not live in their lord s court were
required to have a fief in order to sustain his land and have a solid holding of his service for his
lord and/or king. However, if the vassal did something to violate or break his allegiance to his lord
then it could result is a felony. This could explain why Roland refused several times to use his horn
to call Charlemagne. However, he mentioned several times that calling

Pros And Cons Of Good Faith Exception
The Good faith exception issued by the Supreme Court of the United States v. Leon recognized
evidence that has been collected in violation of the privacy right protected by the Fourth
Amendment to be used in a trial in case the police acted in good faith as answered on detective
search warrant (Hall, 2014). During Leon case, the judge issued a warrant which was facially
deficient, but without officer recognizing the language as long as there is reasonable reliance on
that warrant policeofficials believe they could execute. (McDonald, 1986) The Court held
illegally seized evidence may be used in federal and civil trials to impeach statements made by a
defendant who lacks standing on the Fourth Amendment. The Supreme Court uses the term good
faith when referring to the objective reasonableness of the police in the belief of the existence of a
warrant that is non existent benefits. The Court concluded that evidence should not be suppressed
where it is discovered by officers in the course of actions that are taken in good faith and
reasonable belief that they are authorized. (McDonald, 1986)
Yes, I think good faith exception should be extended to warrantless searches when an officer has a
good faith belief that probable cause exists. However, good faith exception is not an exception
when it comes to the Fourth Amendment clause of all seizures to be reasonable. Instead, it is an
exception to the rule of when the police violate the Fourth Amendment the following evidence is

A Reflection On Being Stereotyped In Nursing
Reflection on being stereotyped I have loved the nursing profession since childhood, and if I
wanted something more in my life in terms of career, it was to help people around me on
different ways. At that time I had no idea how my future will look like. Therefore, when me and
my family decided to emigrate in the U.S. I had in my mind the idea to continue my career. After
all the tests that I supposed to take, I got finally my RN license and I start looking for a place to
work. I must to say that wasn t so easy, because even if I sent a lot of resumes to different
facilities, I was hardly called to an interview, or I had a few telephone interviews. After few
weeks of waiting, I finally got a phone call from one nursing home in the area, and after a few
questions, the person who contacted me invited me to an interview. When I arrived at the
facility, the DON was waiting for me and she had my resume in front of her, on her desk. She
asked me a lot of questions about my background, my experience as a nurse, and what are my
expectation in this job. I worked in Romania almost 14 years as a nurse and in my opinion I can
adapt myself ease to the new conditions. I was surprised that after all the time I spent in her
office, the DON told me she was impressed by me, but she can not give me the job because I do
not have American experience. It was not the first time when I heard this phrase, but I felt like I
had no value, that all the work I have done to get the RN license was in vain. I felt that all the
sky was falling over me because in this case, without the American experience, I had no chance
to find a job in the field I loved so much. Generally speaking, I am a silent person and often quit
the fight at the first hurdle. But in this situation, I chose to continue fighting, because I
considered the DON s answer to be a stereotype. She considered that if I did not do American
school I do not have the necessary knowledge to work in a nursing home. I understood that she
didn t know anything about my country and what kind of school I did to become a nurse, but
little by little, after all I told her about my job in Romania, which were my responsibilities there, I

Realism In Angels And Demons
The opposing sides of good and evil, religion and science, power and intelligence, and knowledge
and ignorance have been battling for centuries. Loyal and faithful believers aid both halves and
have affected the world we live in today. Dan Brown is a renowned author who has penned many
books in his Robert Langdonseries that explore these conflicts. The first book, Angels and Demons,
focuses on the clashes of the Catholic Church and scientific institutions around the world. In it,
Robert Langdon must find a bomb planted in Vatican City by a science advocate before it goes off,

Self Destruction Of Cocaine Essay

With $85 billion in the worldwide sales, and 21 million users, cocaine is still one of the top

THAT COCA is still a major issue for the communities and societies as a whole, in 2015. In this
paper, I am going to take you on my journey and experiences with the cocaine epidemic of the 80 s,
90 s, and all the way to the year 2015.
I think it s best to start with one of the thousands, of City, County, State, and Federal agencies,
that as of today will be spending $23 billion this year to fight the war on drugs.(MAP INC.) The
DEA which has a budget of 2.88 billion in 2015, is the one agency that only focuses on illegal

Most People Do Not Think About The Holy Spirit Or Even
Most people do not think about the Holy Spirit or even recognize Him as a person of the trinity,
to only refer to Him as it when speaking of Him. But He is the one that helps us, comforts us,
and give us the word we need when sharing the Gospel. Jesus tells his disciples that he must go

guiding them, ministering to them and do good work in their lives. In the life of a Pastor, the Holy

speaks there is an influence upon him that enables him to speak as God would have him,

to preach God s truth
Spurgeon gives a humbling statement to those who preach or are thinking about becoming
preachers. The speaker needs to be humble, so God to work through him. Because it is not our
words that save lives, or our charismatic style of preaching that causes someone to be saved, but
the work of Christ on the cross through the Holy Spirit in our lives. I think of this whenever
there is a famous secular artist who is not a true believer that performs a gospel song. It is sung
beautifully, with perfect control of the voice and the timber is perfect; the arrangement is supped
up to make it different more appealing to a secular audience, but it is missing something. It lacks
that heart felt soul and love of Christ in the voice that those who show up on Sunday morning
witness from the people of God singing with joy. Paul speaks of this humbling, Therefore I will
boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10For
the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and
calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong (2

The People s Republic of China vs. the Internet Essay
The introduction of the Internet to the mainstream world has brought with it a new way of
distributing information. This new distribution of information over the Internet has created a
power struggle between some states and their citizens. The basic definition of power is the
action of a person over another person to force the submissive person to do something he would
not ordinarily do. Brian A. Connery, a professor at Oakland University who has studied power,
defines power as, Any capacity to get people to do what you want them to do. Power is evident in

Power can come in different forms and these classifications can make this relationship clearer so
one can comprehend the power struggle between the political elite and their citizens. If we can

power the Chinese government exerts over its citizens. The authors Keohane and Nye explain
the different kinds of power and their uses. The first category is behavioral power. Behavioral
power is divided into sub categories of hard and soft power hard power being the capability to
get people to do what they usually would not through threats or rewards, while soft power is the
coercion of people because they desire the same goals as those who hold the power. The second
category is resource power, which is classified as power in which an organ controls resources to
reach the desired outcomes. (86). The Chinese government, as the reader will come to see, uses hard

How Are Athenian Slaves Treated
First off, let take a look at the slavery in Athens. It would be indecent for me to say that these
slaves had an easy life because slavery is simply cruel and inhumane. However, Athenian slaves
were the least ill treated. There were two types of Athenian slaves; privately owned and state
owned. For privately owned slaves, depending on the master, the slave either had domestic
responsibilities or was a tutor and caretaker of the master s children. Slaves purchased by the
master of the household were received into the household community with a ceremony, attended
family ceremonies, adopted the family s religion and were buried in the family graveyard
(Bowman, 2007, p34). We can say that Athenian slaves were very well integrated into their master

The Pacific Campaign Of World War II
The Pacific Campaign of World War II showed an uncommon test for the United States. The
Americans were successful for some reasons including the commitment of US General Douglas
MacArthur and the Australian s effect on the war. Numerous Successful attributes identified
with the war were the Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the Battle of Midway and The
Battle of Coral Sea. The Pacific Campaign for the US was initiated after the bombing of Pearl
Harbour which was done by the Japanese forces on December 7, 1941. The attack on Pearl
Harbour quickly aroused an isolated country without hesitation. Public opinion had been moving
towards support for entering the war amid 1941, however extensive resistance stayed until the
assault. Overnight, Americans joined the allies against Japan. American solidarity in the war
exertion most likely made the unconditional surrender position later taken by the Allied Powers.
Many Historians believed that this effort by the Japanese doomed them to defeat because they
had awoken the sleeping giants of the US. Once awoken the US were able to have an immense
impact on the pacific theatres. General Douglas MacArthur s impact on WWII: MacArthur was the
Chief of Staff of the United States Army amid the 1930s and assumed an unmistakable part in the

Erikson s Phychosocial Development In The Lion King
As a child, I can remember watching the Lion King movie several times because my family loved
this timeless movie. I always just thought of it as a story about the circle of life that we all hear so
much about in church and from our parents. However, for this assignment I chose to watch this
movie once more; giving particular attention to details and thoroughly examining Simba s life stage
development in relation to Erik Eriksons psychosocial stages and Jean Piaget s cognitive
development stages. Needless to say, I was able to find significant evidence relating to these
developmental theorists. The story not only displays the hardships of maturation, and the
perplexities associated with growing, but it also deals with the search for one s own identity and
responsibility. To exemplify Erickson s psychosocial theory which emphasizes the emergence of
the self, the search for identity, the individual s relationships with others, and the role of culture
throughout life (page), I will begin with the opening of the movie which shows Simba at the
infancy stage where he is developing a trusting behavior from his parents (Mufasa and Sarabi) and
the Hornbill bird, Zazu, who is always reminding everyone to be cautious and careful. His parents
accomplished this by providing him a safe and comfortable living environment and Sarabi made
sure there was someone wiser (Zazu) to go with him when he wanted to start exploring. Mufasa

Prejudice In John Carreon s A Class Divided
Juan Carreon
A Class Divided
This documentary was about how it feels to be discriminated upon and how it can be influenced
in small children easily. Discrimination creates a barrier in the mind. For this reason, the barriers
created by the prejudice are hard to overcome. In light to this, Elliott segregates her class according
to eye color whereby brown eyes are perceived to be superior to the blue eyed people. On the
first day, the brown eyed pupils were provided with privileges (A Class Divided). They were
allowed to have help at lunch, extra time at recess and a sense of self worth above the blue eyed
students. However, on the On the following day (not next) the situation is reversed and the blue
eyed pupils are indulged with privilege which results to making brown eyed pupils feel less
special compared with their peers. Elliott takes the opportunity to observe her class turning into a
microcosm of society. Surprisingly, every time the experiment was carried out, the preferred group
quickly turned the tables and embraced elite status. This implies that the two groups readily
adopted the propaganda that Elliott sprouted on them (A Class Divided). The two created groups
readily adopted their roles to perfection.
I particularly agree with Elliot that racism is propaganda built on the people s mind that may not be
easy to overcome. A keen observation of the experiment shows that both parties assumed their roles
once they were empowered to operate. In real life situation, the wealthy and the have not are
improvised environments. The environment is either improvised by the politicians, economists,
capitalists or psychologists. A typical example is the African American relationship that has
existed for many years. However, no single relationship exists between the skin color and a person
capability to carry out an exercise. In the last American presidential election, President Barrack
Obama managed to gain the presidency despite being of African American. More so, the first
renowned neurosurgeon across the globe is Ben Carson. These individuals, in particular are enough
evidence to disapprove the Elliott idea of discrimination (A Class Divided). They are perfect
examples of people who have overcome against

One s understanding of belonging can broaden their understanding and acceptance of themselves
and the world around them. The statement that we all strive to belong is true, however it may take
time to belong to a certain person, place, group, community or even the larger world. This issue is
explored in Raimond Gaita s biographical memoir Romulus, My Father and Khaled Hosseini s
confronting novel The Kite Runner. Throughout these texts, the themes of personal relationships,
migrant experience and morals and values arise from the concept of ... Show more content on

Therefore, Gaita demonstrates how his cultural upbringing in Australia has enriched his relationship
with his father, allowing him to connect to the Australian landscape, just like Romulus does with
the European landscape.
Similarly in The Kite Runner, Amir struggles to find a connection with his father, Baba.
According to Amir, their bond was a fundamental basis of their lives, however when describing
Baba, he claims he is a force of nature, using a metaphor to not only place Baba as a superior
character, but leaving room for sympathy for Amir as he, like Raimond, feels a distant sense of
connection to the world of his father. Another prime example of Amir feeling no connection to the
world of his father is the soccer games that he, whilst full of regret, participated in, just to try and

expresses his embarrassment and hate for the sport but the will to persevere to make his father
happy, therefore demonstrating how Amir strives to belong. Amir s personal relationship with his
father was obviously dishonest which contradicts with his father s

Symbolism In A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings
A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings a tale of Humanities Sinful Behavior As humans age,
they don t grow wiser, but more foolish. Former feelings of love and affection become
abandoned, instead becoming corrupted by sin. Shamefully, humans display very cruel and
irrational behavior when faced with the unknown. As an angel is discovered by Pelayo and
Elsienda not only are they intrigued at this rare site, but soon allow themselves to show
humanities true behavior. In his story: A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings, Gabriel Marquez
uses imagery, theme, and symbolism in order to clearly portray humanities sinful behavior when
faced with self doubt, causing many to abandon their faith and behave as children. To start, on a
stormy night Pelayo goes outside in order to throw out the once intruding crabs. As he returns, he
discovers an old, weary man in the rear of his courtyard. But this isn t an ordinary old man, Pelayo
sees enormous wings protruding out of his back. A neighbor informs Pelayo and his wife Elsienda
that he is an angel, and they should kill him. Instead, they show mercy and keep... Show more

In the beginning they don t expect much to change from the angels presence. But as they realize
the angel is a way to get money, they are overcome with greed. Soon after the attention of the
angel dies down, they see him as a nuisance. They even go as far as to design their new mansion
as if building a prison, with iron bars on the windows, so the angels wouldn t get in (Marquez
223). As if the angel was so much of a problem , they couldn t stand having more. Elsienda
wouldn t even let him step foot in their house, They would drive him out of the bedroom with a
broom (Marquez 224). As soon as the money stopped coming in, they wanted nothing to do with
him. Later the angel flies toward the sky, never to be seen again. Only then, they realize how
blessed they were to have him in their

  • 2. The Teleological Argument The Teleological Argument, also known as the Argument from Design, is an argument that claims that God designed the world, and he designed it with a purpose as teleological comes from the Greek word telos , meaning end or purpose . It is an ГЎ posteriori argument which gathers evidence and uses our experiences of things from life. It is empirical and also an inductive argument and is based on the premises that; complex things in the world have been created by a designer, the world is complex and looks designed, therefore, the world must have a designer that designer is God. The conclusion is, at best, highly probably but not certain. The most popular version of the Design Argument is that by William Paley which appeared in his book ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Essay on The Book of Genesis Sets the Stage for the Bible The Book of Genesis has served as a work of literature to the western civilization for the past two thousand years. The word Genesis simply means origins or beginnings . This book sets the stage for the bible, telling us of God s ultimate plan for humanity. It also speaks about the nature of God as creator and redeemer as well as the value of human life. Consequences for disobedience and sin are shown; separating man from God. We will also see the promise of salvation and forgiveness of man due to God s grace. However, what does the book of Genesissay about the portrayal of women? From the very beginning of Genesis, in the description of the Eden story, tension arises between Eve and the divine process. Eve is tricked by the serpent... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After the seven years, Jacob goes to Laban and asks for Rachel s hand. Laban instead tricks Jacob and gives his eldest daughter Leah. Jacob finds out the next morning and is then tricked again into working another seven years so he can marry Rachel. Jacob is then married to both women. Jacob loved Rachel and despised Leah and because of this, God made Rachel barren. Jacob continued to hate Leah until she conceived and bare him four sons. Rachel begins to feel worthless because she cannot give her husband any children. Rachel comes up with a plan to give Jacob children. Bilhah, Rachel s maid is offered to Jacob by his wife to carry his child. Bilhah conceives and bare Jacob another son. All throughout Genesis, a woman s value relies on her ability to conceive and her subservience to her husband. Women are never allowed to travel alone and must remain under their father or their husband s authority. As a whole, the women in Genesis are portrayed as obstacles to dominant goals due to nonfulfillment of roles. Since Rachel and Leah both offered up their maids to Jacob to bare children, Jacob ends up with four wives. Polygamy is documented throughout the Bible and there is no evidence of disapproval from God portrayed.. However, when we talk about marriage today, using the Bible as reference, it is said that it needs to be between one man and one woman. God is looking ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Impact Of Old-Time Radio Era On American Culture There have been many different aspects that have come out of the old time radio era that have impacted our culture today. It was not just the news that people learned about it was also entertainment. Usually, in a time when there was nothing to be happy about. In order for us to understand the difference that these people made in the lives of others. It needs to be understood why they were created and where they came from. Also, it was not just about the actors, it was the story lines and the dramas that helped people escape and either enjoy a good thriller or comedy show. A radio drama is a dramatized performance, broadcasted on the radio or it was published on audio media for instance a tape or CD. These tapes became very popular during... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While this is usually not necessarily a lousy concept, the fiasco on October 31st, 1938 between 8 and 9 PM said a different story. The WABC radio broadcast network decided to air an episode of, The Mercury Theatre on the Air . Directed by Orson Welles the group performed their adaption of, The war of the Worlds , written by Howard Koch s. The actors in the group did such a marvelous job that people listening in actually believed that they were listening to a live news report of a sure enough alien invasion. Oliver Queen is a character from one of my favorite television show called Smallville . He inherited a big industrial empire from his parents when they passed away. • 6. The Five Characteristics Of The Five Sources Of Power A leader has many important characteristics. One of these important characteristics is power. Without power, leaders would not be able to influence their followers to achieve their goals ethically. There are five main sources of power for leaders. The influence that leaders have using these sources could be either negative or positive. My Research to Answer the Question: In 1959 John French and Bertram Raven stated significant theories regarding the source of power in their article The Bases of Power and suggested that there are five sources of power. These sources are placed into Organizational Powers and Personal Powers. Organizational Power contains Legitimate, Coercive, and Reward power while Personal Power contains Expert and Referent power or Connections power (Merchant., n.d.). Raven then added another power source called Informational power six years later (Prescott, 2015). In order for this to happen, the followers must believe that the leader has the ability to what he or she is threatening to do (Leadership Power, n.d.). Thus, this power gives the leader control over behaviors and causes the employees to stick to the rules and guidelines of the organization but it could also cause the followers to be unhappy (Prescott, 2015). Although the colonial history of New England has been thoroughly researched and taught across all levels of educational institutes across the United States, the study of its environmental history often takes a backseat to America s complex and enthralling social and political history. This trend has been abating in recent decades, given that more Americans have taken an interest in their environment and conservation, and in response to this new demand the field of environmental history was initiated by historians like William Cronon, who explores the changes in the New Englandenvironment under the stewardship of Native Americans and European colonist in Changes in the Land: Indians, Colonists, and the Ecology of New England. The popular view among the colonists regarding their deep ecological footprint was that it was furnished by an approving God, meaning that they could utilize this blessing as they saw fit. Using the land to farm and graze animals was in their view, improving the land, and thus another signifier that they held more of a right to own it, as opposed to the lazier Native Americans who tended to hunt and gather food more than the colonists. Cronon gives us good insight into the sound methodology that historians used to determine the environment at that point, from primary sources describing the environment or various phenomenon, to the presence of various local statutes dealing with the environment that hinted at the changing state of the colonial settlements and wilderness. From most accounts, it seems that most colonists were unaware of the complex relations that existed between them, Native Americans, and the environment. Cronon s work meticulously details the chasm between the colonial and Native American outlooks on the environment and on each other. This has led to sporadic tracking of client contacts, client sales, reasons for wins or losses from major distribution proposals, increases/decreases with individual clients, and overall client satisfaction. This lack of a solid database of sales information leads to an inability to identify trends, difficulty in understanding true sales associate performance, and makes management decision making around existing and new products difficult. Some individuals unconsciously seek directions when challenged with a given issue and know which way to steer because of their moral compass. Furthermore, the moral compass is the soul that guides the personal self, but it is also the non material aspect of a human being that is immortal. Although, the soul s existence is in question, there is evidence that validates that the soul is real. Such evidence includes Plato s theory of the tripartite soul and Sigmund Freud s psychodynamic theory, which reevaluates Plato s theory. Both theories address that the soul s existence is the personality of a human being. On the other hand, many critics claim that the soul does not exist since it is beyond our knowledge; therefore we cannot demonstrate such existence. Hume a philosopher during the Enlightenment affirms this claim under the branch of empiricism, which states that true knowledge, arises from our five senses: touch, smell, sight, taste, and hearing. Therefore, to determine if something exists at least one or all of the senses have to be applied since the material aspects of something demonstrates its existence. Moreover, the reasoning behind empiricism is an addition to Hume s theory of sense perception. The theory is composed of two elements, which are impressions and ideas. The interactions that take place among the members of a group are referred to as a group dynamics. Within an organization, a work group is usually the primary source of social identity for employees. The nature of the group to which they belong may affect their performance at work and may influence their relationships with people outside the organisation. The various interactions that take place among the members of a group comprise group dynamics. The term group dynamics was popularized by the management thinker, Kurt Lewin, in the 1930 s There are three views regarding the nature of group dynamics. The normative view describes how a group is to be organized and how its activities are to be carried out. • 26. Vassalage And Senmenment In The Song Of Roland, Oliver And... The word, vassalage will have a different meaning to different people and their personalities. This will cause people to argue about how to deal with situations and what course of action is the best option. According to Merriam Webster Dictionary, vassalage is defined as a position of subordination or submission to a political power. While a vassal is someone who is under the protection of someone with authority such as a feudal lord. This person (vassal) will feel obligated to vow their loyalty to that person in power. In The Song of Roland , Oliver and Roland both have a different definition on what makes a great vassal. This paper will discuss both viewpoints on what makes a marvelous vassal , why the poet used Roland and Oliver to balance out vassals, and a brief understanding of vassalage and fief holding. First, a vassal and fief holding is more than just someone of lower status being obedient to their ruler and using their land to pay them. According to Britannica, some vassals were apart of their lord s court as household knights. Although, vassals who did not live in their lord s court were required to have a fief in order to sustain his land and have a solid holding of his service for his lord and/or king. However, if the vassal did something to violate or break his allegiance to his lord then it could result is a felony. The Supreme Court uses the term good faith when referring to the objective reasonableness of the police in the belief of the existence of a warrant that is non existent benefits. The Court concluded that evidence should not be suppressed where it is discovered by officers in the course of actions that are taken in good faith and reasonable belief that they are authorized. • 28. A Reflection On Being Stereotyped In Nursing Reflection on being stereotyped I have loved the nursing profession since childhood, and if I wanted something more in my life in terms of career, it was to help people around me on different ways. At that time I had no idea how my future will look like. Therefore, when me and my family decided to emigrate in the U.S. I had in my mind the idea to continue my career. After all the tests that I supposed to take, I got finally my RN license and I start looking for a place to work. I must to say that wasn t so easy, because even if I sent a lot of resumes to different facilities, I was hardly called to an interview, or I had a few telephone interviews. After few weeks of waiting, I finally got a phone call from one nursing home in the area, and after a few questions, the person who contacted me invited me to an interview. When I arrived at the facility, the DON was waiting for me and she had my resume in front of her, on her desk. She asked me a lot of questions about my background, my experience as a nurse, and what are my expectation in this job. I worked in Romania almost 14 years as a nurse and in my opinion I can adapt myself ease to the new conditions. I was surprised that after all the time I spent in her office, the DON told me she was impressed by me, but she can not give me the job because I do not have American experience. It was not the first time when I heard this phrase, but I felt like I had no value, that all the work I have done to get the RN license was in vain. I felt that all the sky was falling over me because in this case, without the American experience, I had no chance to find a job in the field I loved so much. Generally speaking, I am a silent person and often quit the fight at the first hurdle. But in this situation, I chose to continue fighting, because I considered the DON s answer to be a stereotype. She considered that if I did not do American school I do not have the necessary knowledge to work in a nursing home. I understood that she didn t know anything about my country and what kind of school I did to become a nurse, but little by little, after all I told her about my job in Romania, which were my responsibilities there, I asked her to give me a chance, to offer me the job ... For privately owned slaves, depending on the master, the slave either had domestic responsibilities or was a tutor and caretaker of the master s children. Slaves purchased by the master of the household were received into the household community with a ceremony, attended family ceremonies, adopted the family s religion and were buried in the family graveyard (Bowman, 2007, p34). To exemplify Erickson s psychosocial theory which emphasizes the emergence of the self, the search for identity, the individual s relationships with others, and the role of culture throughout life (page), I will begin with the opening of the movie which shows Simba at the infancy stage where he is developing a trusting behavior from his parents (Mufasa and Sarabi) and the Hornbill bird, Zazu, who is always reminding everyone to be cautious and careful. • 39. Prejudice In John Carreon s A Class Divided Juan Carreon A Class Divided This documentary was about how it feels to be discriminated upon and how it can be influenced in small children easily. Discrimination creates a barrier in the mind. For this reason, the barriers created by the prejudice are hard to overcome. In light to this, Elliott segregates her class according to eye color whereby brown eyes are perceived to be superior to the blue eyed people. On the first day, the brown eyed pupils were provided with privileges (A Class Divided). They were allowed to have help at lunch, extra time at recess and a sense of self worth above the blue eyed students. However, on the On the following day (not next) the situation is reversed and the blue eyed pupils are indulged with privilege which results to making brown eyed pupils feel less special compared with their peers. Elliott takes the opportunity to observe her class turning into a microcosm of society. Surprisingly, every time the experiment was carried out, the preferred group quickly turned the tables and embraced elite status. This implies that the two groups readily adopted the propaganda that Elliott sprouted on them (A Class Divided). The two created groups readily adopted their roles to perfection. I particularly agree with Elliot that racism is propaganda built on the people s mind that may not be easy to overcome. A keen observation of the experiment shows that both parties assumed their roles once they were empowered to operate. In real life situation, the wealthy and the have not are improvised environments. The environment is either improvised by the politicians, economists, capitalists or psychologists. A typical example is the African American relationship that has existed for many years. However, no single relationship exists between the skin color and a person capability to carry out an exercise. In the last American presidential election, President Barrack Obama managed to gain the presidency despite being of African American.
