The Knowledge Of The Natural Sciences And History Based On...
When the quote states, attempt to know the world , it is regarding the gain of knowledge. This is
because knowledge is the understanding of the physical world surrounding us and beyond. Plato
defined knowledge as justified, true belief, meaning that for knowledge to be legitimate, it must be
justified by sources such as reason, empirical evidence or memory. Secondly, the term assumptions in
the quote should also be explored. According to the oxford dictionary, assumptions can be defined as
something that is accepted as true without proof . Therefore the quote is stating that our knowledge of
the world is based on a set of assumptions. The second part of the assertion produces the knowledge
issues of the inability of testing the knowledge. The oxford dictionary defines tested as taking
measurements to check the reliability of the something. Therefore, a key question that comes from this
quote is: To what extent are all knowledge in the natural sciences and history based on assumptions
and is it possible to test it s reliability?
The first knowledge issue from this quote is that the knowledge gained from the physical world is
based on things that without proof. This knowledge issue can be interlinked with the area of
knowledge of natural sciences. The natural sciences study the rules that govern the natural world by
applying an empirical and scientific method to study of the universe. It is considered on of the more

Literature Review On Waiting Line

Definition of waiting lines
Waiting line management refer to customers personally while waiting in lines before receiving one or
more service delivery. (Sridhar, 2015)According to Taylor, a philosopher, waiting line is the time from
which a customer is ready to receive the service until the time the service commences. (Yan, 2006)
The process of waiting may examine the attitude and behaviour of customer. According to William
James, a philosopher, the feelings of boredom will come into being as the time flies . (Maister,
2005)When waiting for a delivery of service, the interested on services of customer will reduce as

My Experience Of Art
Since elementary school I have envisioned my life deeply intertwined with art, however, at the same
time I also knew that vision never had me living out the stereotype of a starving artist either. As a child
my understanding of artist in the work force was nothing more than the cliché vision, of a paint
covered artist smearing vivid hues on a canvas and then rushing to the nearest art gallery to sell their
work. I didn t know anything of the vast opportunities for artist or even how abundantly art is used
throughout our society. Maybe this was due to the fact I was never one of those kids who know what
they wanted to be since they were three. Nevertheless, I always had a passion to create, even when I
was determined to become the next Thomas Edison, I was looking for an outlet to create. By the time
third grade would roll around though, it would be made evident that art in its most traditional since of
drawing and painting would be the outlet I was always looking for. Understanding my niche in the
creative world would take me over a decade of self evaluation, inspiration, and research.
I never started out saying I was going to be an artist, I still did a child s fair share of doodles and
finger painting but it was never anything that raptured my attention. However, this would all change
on Christmas Eve, when my grandmother presented me with a book entitled How to Draw 120 of your
Favorite Things . Now the title was not the most original approach, the book s cover made up

himself and all his greatness. Okonkwo
Gaytan 3 also proves pride can lead to confidence with this quote, Okonkwo was well known

young man of eighteen he had brought honor to his village by throwing Amalinze the Cat. Amalinze
was the great wrestler who for seven years was unbeaten, from Umuofia to Mbaino. (Shmoop.com).
These achievements surely mad Okonkwo very confident in himself. This did not only make him

Veiling Muslim Women
I. Introduction
Around the world the hijab, niqab, burqa, and other veils Muslim women wear are being criticized and
made into news stories and or debates about whether Muslim women should be allowed to veil.
Muslim Women are taking a stand against Western critiques of veiling by breaking down the critiques
positioned by the West and Western feminists; in addition Muslim women are expressing autonomy
and their self determination for their right to choose to veil which leads to critiquing power of the
state. (Ferrero)This essay will first outline the critiques of veiling and their historical context, then

September 11th 2001 which contributes to the reasons this critique has no merit since it has deep roots
in the Islamophobia and fear mongering propaganda that followed the September 11th attacks. In fact
Haleh Afshar specififies because of the Islamophobia following the attacks Muslim women have
found themselves at the centre of contestations about their identities, their nationalities and their faith.

Theme Of Duality In Romeo And Juliet
Duality is when one thing or idea contains two conflicting sides. Duality is a theme seen in both Jekyll
and Hyde and Romeo and Juliet. In both of these works of literature there are many different ways that
the theme of duality is displayed. There are also many instances in which duality is used in modern
literature and entertainment, the movie Split for example. In these stories the duality of human nature
is displayed by the characters and situations that are included. In the Shakespearean play named
Romeo and Juliet duality is displayed mainly by quotes and situations. At the end of the play prince
escalus says A glooming peace this morning with it brings (V iii 316). This quote shows duality when
it describes peace with glooming. This is an adequate example of duality because while describing
peace, which has a positive connotation, the word glooming, in which a negative connotation is used.
Another quote that displays duality is what Friar Laurence says near the beginning of the play Virtue
itself turns vice, being misapplied,/ And vice sometime by action dignified (II iii 21 22). Obviously
vice and virtue are opposite in nature, vice meaning something that is immoral or wicked, and virtue
being something that displays high moral standards. Comparing these two very different things gives
an idea of the dual nature of man. Duality is also used as a literary device that relates to irony. Irony is
when the expectation of something is different than the reality. Although irony and duality are not the
same thing, they are closely related as to how they are used, and in what situations they are used. The
following quote is an example of dramatic irony and duality, O son, the night before thy wedding
day/Hath Death lain with thy wife. There she lies,/Flower as she was, deflowerèd by him./Death is my
son in law; Death is my heir (IV v 41 44). This quote shows dramatic irony because Lord Capulet
believes that Juliet is dead even though we know that she is not; in addition it represents the theme of
duality because it is saying that juliet is married to death. Marriage is being represented as a good
thing, but turns into a bad thing when she is said to be married to death itself. In Romeo and Juliet
there

Pros And Cons Of Deaf
1. Pathological view an individual would downplay or be embarrassed of the fact that they are deaf,
pathological view preaches the use of hearing aids and wanting to fix the problem and focuses a lot on
learning speech, and the pathological view is when an individual thinks that using professional help
such as an interpreter is HELPING the Deaf overcome their handicap so they can live properly in the

Cultural view is when a person is willing and open in acknowledging their deafness, they give a lot
more attention to finding means of communication for the Deaf community at large using visual

1950 s Double Helix
In the 1950 s many scientists were trying to study and find the structure of DNA. Early before the
1950 s the work of pioneers had discovered DNA. Scientists began to wonder what else is the DNA
made up of and what is it s structure. Many competed to discover the DNA. It just so happens in 1953
two men succeeded in their goal. James Watson and Francis Crick made a mark in the history of
science. On this day February 28, 1953 Watson and Crick made the discovery of a double helix in the
DNA.
Studying DNA is understanding how genes process within new cells. It helps discover the genetic
code and protein synthesis. DNA has a complex structure simple enough to be discovered. The

They shared some of the same ideas on how they could solve the problem. The two men had very
different personalities, they respected each other s work and became very good friends. Through this
friendship Watson and Crick came up with an idea of testing their theory of how the DNA molecule
might fit together by using stick ball models. Even though their first attempt failed, they didn t give
up. In addition to the stick ball models, Watson and Crick used x ray pictures to give them ideas for
the structure.
There were two scientists that were experts in taking these x ray pictures. Watson and Crick used
pictures taken by Rosaline Franklin and Maurice Wilkins to gain some valuable information. Within
two years of starting their study Crick and Watson were able to put together an accurate model of the
DNA structure. The double helix model shape would eventually help scientist all over the world learn
more about genetics. DNA is composed of nucleotide deoxyribose sugar a phosphate group and four
nitrogen. Phosphate and sugar link to form a polymer x ray provided the final clue of DNA. DNA
molecule is a double helix shaped of a structure like a twisted ladder. The ladder is formed from pairs
of nitrogen bases A, T, C, and

Michael Pollan Omnivore Dilemma
Michael Pollan in 2006, published a work that has to some degree changed the way that people eat, or
at the very least attempted to change the way that we think about the food we eat. (Shea 54) Pollan
demonstrates through fundamentally modern rhetoric the relationship that people, and more
specifically American s have with food and how very distant we are from it. ( History, Old Favorites
in B08) To some degree Pollan, others like him and internationally challenging food shortages and
even worse food born illnesses and scares are changing the way that food is understood with regard to
an international and national food traceability and accountability movement. (Popper 365) Pollan

the link between the way we choose to separate ourselves from the farmer and the market, with little
thought and the fact that we use way to much corn and petroleum to manufacture and obtain our food,
then logically get taken by the marketing of organic food and then the difficulty of a one time
experience challenging the market to forage in the environment we live. The ethos of the work is
derived from the fact that Pollan is willing and able as an individual, on a very intimate level to trace
all these links to a formidable conclusion, as well as his own credential as a consumer and a food
writer. (Shea 54) He vividly describes his experiences and what he has learned, so the reader can
participate in his exploration of the many worlds of food in the United States. (Flannery 51)
Oil underlines Pollan s story about agribusiness, but corn is its focus. American cattle fatten on corn.
Corn also feeds poultry, pigs and sheep, even farmed fish. But that s just the beginning. In addition to
dairy products from corn fed cows and eggs from corn fed chickens, corn starch, corn oil and corn
syrup make up key ingredients in prepared foods. High fructose corn syrup sweetens everything from
juice to toothpaste. Even the alcohol in beer is corn based. Corn is in everything from frozen yogurt to
ketchup, from mayonnaise and mustard to hot dogs and bologna, from salad dressings to vitamin pills.

The Four Advantages Of A Foraging Society
I normally consider myself to be a person who appreciates simplicity, so my initial reaction to this
question was that I would prefer a foraging society to an industrial society. By the time I had finished
thinking it through, however, I was less certain of my preference. Four advantages of a foraging
society that I find particularly compelling (in addition to simplicity, to whatever extent that
assumption is true) relate to human health, population control, egalitarianism, and sustainability.
The need to hunt and gather for subsistence means that people are active through the day and unlikely
to indulge in laziness and in wasteful overeating habits that can wreak havoc on human health.
Therefore, it stands to reason that lifestyle linked health problems, such as diabetes, coronary disease,
obesity, and in some cases, cancer are less commonplace or non existent in foraging societies. In an
industrial society, we have the technical ability to alter things not intended for human consumption
into food with questionable safety. I m thinking about everything from aspartame to Twinkies, to
genetically modified organisms... there is no shortage of examples of consumables in an industrialized
society that should be considered eat at your own risk. We have moved away from consuming simple,
whole foods and toward an array of fast food habits just because we can. Unfortunately, the negative
health impacts of some of these habits are becoming clearer all the time.

Gymnastics is an intensive sport that puts an enormous amount of pressure onto girls from the age of 5
to perform to high standards. Gymnastics has been around since the opening of the Olympics which
was in 1896. This sport contains the elements of strength, flexibility and a high level of coordination.
Girls tend to excel in these elements of personal fitness but it can also cause excruciating pain in the

your typical macaw or cockatoo would. These are possibly the easiest birds to care for and maintain
because they are so small. You can keep them in a small bird cage versus a cage you might pay
thousands of dollars for to keep a macaw in. They don t eat as much as the larger birds either. You will

Flaws, wrinkles and other problems are airbrushed out of the picture. Wolf discusses the effect that
these standards are having on women in the workplace. A woman s beauty, or lack of it, can be used
against her. In 1986, Mechelle Vinson lost a sexual harassment case. Vinson was young and
‘beautiful and carefully dressed. The district court ruled that her appearance counted against her.
(Wolf 38) In Hopkins v. Price Waterhouse, Ms. Hopkins was denied a partnership because she needed
to learn to ‘walk more femininely, talk more femininely, dress more femininely, and ‘wear makeup .
She brought in more business than any other employee. (Wolf 39) I believe that this book has value
and people from all walks of life should read it. We all need to become much more aware of how
strong and how damaging this kind of media influence is. Women and men need to realize that there
are companies in our culture that thrive on making us feel bad about ourselves, such as cosmetic
companies, health clubs, clothing designers; anyone that is trying to change us. The book was well
written and extremely interesting. The reviews on the back cover say it all; that this book is essential
reading. I will recommend it to all of my friends. Hopefully those who are very self doubting and
considering cosmetic surgery will realize they are trying to fit into an abnormal standard of beauty.

Government Funded Versus Privately Funded Human Life
Introduction to Government Funded Versus Privately Funded Human Spaceflight
Getting into space isn t easy. It required the world s largest superpowers and billions of dollars of
research and development to create the first rockets capable of carrying human beings into space.
Approximately 60 years later, we find ourselves still struggling to reach LEO (low Earth Orbit)
without breaking the bank. With the retirement of the Space Shuttle in 2011, the United States has lost
its only dedicated vehicle capable sending astronauts and payloads into orbit. Relying on the Russian
Soyuz vehicle for our missions, the price of sending people into space has continued to be
astronomical. America needs a new line of cheaper rockets to fit the demand of future missions, and
what role the government should play in this expensive development process is a complicated debate
which affects many people. We re paying too much to go to space. NASA typically contracts out
launch vehicles from private companies for their launch needs, and historically they have almost
always gone to the United Launch Alliance (a joint venture between Lockheed and Boeing). Up until
recently, they have been one of the only organizations capable of sending cargo to both low Earth orbit
and geosynchronous orbit (an orbit which matches the trajectory of the craft with the rotation of the
Earth). As a result, a monopoly has been created, and the price of sending anything into space costs a
ridiculous amount of money.

The Decline and Collapse of General Motors
The Decline and Collapse Of General Motors
ntroduction
General Motors (GM), who once dominated the automobile industry, has now plummeted, almost to
the point of extinction. Throughout the 1940 s to the 1970 s General Motors (GM) had dominated the
automobile industry. By the 1980 s, GM was suddenly facing a shift in the economy and consumer
demands.
GM s Earlier Successes
In the 1950 s, GM agreed to pay their workers well, by signing groundbreaking long term employment
union contracts which included:
workers to be the highest paid in America
pay rates were automatically increased with the rate of inflation
workers were paid during shutdown periods
extensive health coverage
strong retirement benefits

GM was given the opportunity to make radical changes and regain its market leadership, they failed.
The Saturn was introduced, but has recently closed its doors.
Adam Hartung (a business advisor), says GM could have avoided its present dilemma. According to
Hartung, Smith shouldn t have opened a new division separate from the main firm. Instead he says
Smith should have focused on making dramatic changes within the existing company s labor structure,
dealer structure, and vehicles, by imitating its competitors.
GM s Demise
It was GM s arrogance that led this company to their present demise. GM had monopolized the auto
industry for so long, they thought they were infallible; believing that its competitors would never have
the resources or capability that they had. GM never considered shifts in the environment (gas prices
and a declining economy) and consumer demands for quality and fuel efficient automobiles.
Too busy with their own internal problems, like employee contracts that forced them to focus on high
profits; they had ignored and underestimated their competitors. GM has lost its share of the market.
Had they focused on the innovation they had when the company was first established, they may not be
in the situation they are in today. It appears that they had drifted away from their mission to become
and stay the leader of the automotive industry, now their paying the price. Recently, GM s stock price
had fallen from $96 per

SOLUTION: ECHINAFORCE
VERY INTERESTING STUDY DONE ON ECHINAFORCE IN 2012
A study done at Cardiff University (United Kingdom) with 755 participants over 4 months at 3 to 5
doses a day.
It shows that Echinaforce is a very good product in prevention AND treatment of cold and flu.
Prevention
It has been shown that those on the placebo had 59% more cold and flu on average than those on
Echinaforce.
It is even more impressive with a 66% more colds and flu on the placebo vs Echinaforce when under a
lot of stress:
68% more cold and flu on the placebo vs Echinaforce when sleep deprived
82% more cold and flu on the placebo vs Echinaforce for smokers.
Treatment
Colds and flu are 1.5 days shorter with Echinaforce
Symptoms are 62% less intensive with Echinaforce
Not because it suppress the symptoms but because it actually help neutralize the viruses by making
their protein ineffective at penetrating cells and make the immune system more efficient.
Very Good Safety Record
Same amount of adverse reactions on the placebo or on the Echinaforce

Developing a Counseling Plan This paper focuses on a case study of famous actor/musician, Mark
Wahlberg. Mark Wahlberg began a life of juvenile crime at age ten that culminated in his attempted
murder arrest, and subsequent prison sentence, at the age of 16. The paper will explore his early life
and family issues leading to his delinquent behavior as well as counseling theories and interventions
that would be successful in treating a youth with similar difficulties.

This person functions as a scapegoat for the family and in turn is often blamed for the unhappiness in
the family. As tension and anxiety within the family increases, the behaviors displayed by the
scapegoat will also increase (Cook, 2001).
The second issue to address for Mark would be his birth order. He was the youngest in a family of
nine children. This made him very impressionable to the behaviors of older siblings who would have
taken on the care taker role. Mark stated in an interview, there was always a voice in my head telling
me I was going to end up in jail. Three of my brothers had done time. My sister went to prison so
many times I lost count (Wilde, 2009). It was these influences that lead him to try drugs for the first
time at the age of 10.
Interventions that may be successful in Mark s case would include those found in the Functional
Family Therapy model or FFT. FFT may include diversion, probation, alternatives to incarceration,
and/or reentry programs for youth returning to the community following release from a high security,
severely restrictive institutional setting (Sexton amp; Alexander, 2000). The reentry programs, in
particular, could be very beneficial to Mark after returning from an adult prison.

Roland had a very close relationship with his step father, but his step father dies when Roland was 16
years old leaving a great emptiness and sense of being alone inside.
Although Rolnad s mother displayed love and affection to Roland, her parenting style left Roland with
no sense of consequence to his action. Roland believes that nobody should continue to be upset with
him after he apologies. An apology alone, void of any action, is enough for all to be forgiven and
forgotten to Roland. His biological father had a relationship with him growing up, but he only saw his
father occasionally growing up. Roland resents his father leaving the family when he was just a young
boy and starting a family with a new woman. Isolation is when one feels completely alone,
disconnected, and secluded and it is a process where an idea or memory is divested of its emotional
component (Cooper, 2003).
Death is something that has caused Roland s only male role model and support system to be taking
away from him. The death of his step father is what caused the emotions he had for his biological
father to matesized and to be projected upon others in his life.
Roland has a lack of self esteem and feels like he is not worthy of love unless he forces upon others.
This lack of self esteem stems from his father abandoning him and starting another family to replace
him. Roland feels that he was not even good enough for his

The Nasa Space Flight Center Essay
The Goddard Space Flight Center states that there are 2,271 artificial satellites currently in space
orbiting the earth. An artificial satellite is a hand made machine that orbits the planet earth to help in
many different ways in communications, documenting information, sending and receiving signals. A
satellite is a moon, planet, or a machine that orbit a planet or a star. There are many types of satellites
and each one is used for different reasons. Some satellites are used to send and receive television
signals. Some other satellites are used in communications by making it possible to send and receive
signals from phones, fax, internet and computers to people all over the world. Other satellites are used
in forecasting by giving information about the earth s weather to scientists. Also, there is another type
of satellites that take accurate picture of earth to show the environmental situation such as resources,
pollution and statistics of crops and water (NOAA, 2014). Satellites improved a lot in the daily life
uses such as weather forecasting, documenting information, communication and positioning systems.
The idea of satellites The development of the invention started in 1952 when the International Council
of Scientific Unions decided to start a project named International Geophysical Year which started on
July1, 1957 and ended on December31, 1958. They put in considerations to launch the artificial
satellite in this year for mapping earth s surface (Verma, 2012).

Ancient Egyptian Mummification Beliefs
Ancient Egyptian Mummification Ritual
Ancient Egyptians were very religious people with various beliefs and gods. Ancient Egypt consisted
of the Old Kingdom, the Middle Kingdom, and the New Kingdom. Not only is Ancient Egypt known
for their outstanding architecture in pyramids, but also, their astonishing understanding of the human
body. Mummification began around c.3500 BCE and by the Old Kingdom it had become a standard
practice. Everything Egyptians did, including mummification had to do with their religious beliefs.
They followed rituals to please the gods and therefore received something in exchange. Moreover,
they believed that mummifying a body was preparing a person for their afterlife. The process of
mummification changed depending on the person s socioeconomic status. Ancient Egypt was a period
based strongly on religion and the belief of rebirth after death that led to mummification. The word
mummy derives from the word mum from the Persians, meaning wax. Therefore, the word mummy is
defined as an embalmed corpse that appears wax like since embalmers tried to keep corpses as intact
as they possibly could. Embalmers were people who prepared and mummified the corpse. By the
Early Dynastic period (c.3150 2613 BCE), the Mastaba Tomb had replaced graves. Egyptians believed
that in a Mastaba, the soul would leave the corpse and into the afterlife. Portrayed inside the tombs,
were painted stories and written spells that guided the soul towards its journey. The

Originally, First Nations had Fared Well; however, since the European invasion they have been the
victims of the Well Fare system. First Nations are gradually losing their traditional ways of living. We
no longer gather roots and hunt for our sustenance. We have inevitably picked up the European ways;
we have become victims of the Well Fare system. The Secwepemc people have existed in their current
territory for 10,000 years and thrived through their own work and trading with other tribes. The
Secwepemc were affluent enough to share with those that were in need and in turn received help when
the Secwepemc were in need. We took only what was needed. As time goes on the Secwepemc people

rivers meet, and for centuries has been the home of the Tk emlupsemc, people of the confluence (Our

Examples Of Alienation Of The Self And Hypocrisy
Alienation of the self and hypocrisy
One of the main aims of the director is to exhibit the alienation of the self and the hypocrisy in modern
society. From the very beginning of the film is made clear by means of the conversation and reactions
within the family once Cristopher has got graduated. The importance of life, from the sight of his
parents, is linked to material possessions and public display. Once the protagonist leaves all his past
behind heading for adventures on his way to Alaska, there is another palatal conversation with one of
his coworkers that clearly highlights this point: why people, why every fucking person is so bad to
each other so fucking often .
This awareness about the hypocrisy and spotlighting the superficiality ... Show more content on

As it is quoted in the novel, Christopher was deeply touched and influenced by Thoreau s ideals, about
both his philosophical and economical approaches. His refusal of capitalism as the economical model
for the system and the individualization it implies keeps pushing him forward, away from society, and
looking a better connection with nature. Nature is thus understood as the summum of virtue and
pureness in contrast with the vices and depravation of the system.
This concept is repeated by means of representing the highest grade of happiness when being in
nature: on the beach, at the top of the mountain, kayaking along the river, running among horses and
going into the wilderness of deep Alaska.
Self Redemption
Despite of the journey, the adventures he comes through and the achievement of his goal, the
protagonist is shown at the very end of the film as a declining being at his twilight. As he sees himself
too much isolated, he realizes about the most important moral in life, which is summarized
handwritten by himself in real life, novel and film adaptation: happiness is only real when shared .
After all his struggles to get into the wild looking for happiness, he spends his last moments thinking
of his relatives, whose he had pushed himself out as they were a load to fulfill his self realization.

Selecting The Female Reproductive System Essay
Selecting the female reproductive system to present was slightly awkward with me being a male. In
addition to having to have a presentation in a public forum having to provide visual aids of the female
reproductive system to my fellow classmates. I didn t look forward to that at all. With that being said,
I moved forward with my research on the pathologies of the female reproductive system. I did not take
long at all to recognize some familiar terminology related to the pathological anomalies of the female
reproductive system that I was familiar with. Pathological terminology such as Fibroids (tissue
overgrowth) and Endometriosis (pain in the uterine lining). I had a few people close to me who have
suffered from complications of those pathological disorders which led to the loss of pregnancy. At
different moments in our life at one time or another will have someone close to us experiencing some
issues of the female reproductive system. Having the knowledge of the causes, symptoms,
complications and treatments will enable us to not only understand what they are going through but
with that knowledge we can comfort them as well. Having a working knowledge of the female
reproductive system is beneficial in many areas. In addition to helping those close to us, as a radiology
technologist we can better assist or patients.
The female reproductive system consists of ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, vagina and breast.

Seven Sins Of Memory Research Paper
The memory part of our brain plays an important role in our everyday lives. There are a variety of
problems associated with memory, some are recognizable, while others are difficult to determine. We
experience some memory lapse during the day, for example, forgetting to buy milk at the grocery store
or the name of the person you just met. These memory lapses are known as The Seven Sins of
Memory, transience, absent minded, blocking, suggestibility, bias, persistence, and misattribution.
According to Murray, (2003), the first three are sins of omission that involve forgetting, and the
second four are sins of commission that involve distorted or unwanted recollections. Transience is the

The Pros And Cons Of Foreign Aid
To Aid or Not to Aid
Foreign aid has played an enormous role in the United States government policy, especially since the
mid twentieth century, following World War II. At that time, the U.S. began providing financial aid,
through the Marshall Plan, to help rebuild Europe (Williams, 2015). Today, foreign aid has evolved to
mean a variety of things. Foreign aid is not strictly financial assistance. According to Williams in the
Encyclopedia Britannica (2015), foreign assistance can include military assistance or equipment,
medical assistance or equipment, or technical assistance and training. However, the most common
foreign aid is official development assistance, which is organized through international organizations
such as the World Bank, International Monetary Fund or UNICEF and used to address poverty and
promote development (Williams 2015). Many people feel in the United States feel that it is necessary
to provide foreign assistance to the world. It is thought that helping less developed economies
improves the market for everyone. Others feel that many people are in need here in the United States
and that it does not make sense to send aid to other countries when people need right in their own city,
state, or country. Most people think that a large portion of the U.S. budget is devoted to foreign aid. In
contrast, according to Rutsch (2015), the U.S. spends less than 1 percent of the federal budget on
foreign aid . With the state of the world today,

Strip Cut Vs. Cross-Cut Paper Shredder
Since security has become a quality of service issue even shredding methods have come under closer
scrutiny. Shredders dispose of confidential documents by shredding them into tiny particles that are
useless. A cross cut paper shredder does this job efficiently especially where sensitive documents such
as credit card statements, personnel records, bank statements and security issues are involved.
Strip Cut vs Cross Cut Paper Shredder
Although strip cut shredders are ideal for most common shred jobs where critical security levels are
not an issue. A cross cut shredder is preferred for higher levels of security since thieves have been
known to paste together single shred documents to obtain information.
Cross cut shredders are designed with a pair of rotating shafts that rotate in parallel to each other. The

Whatever they are called they are the most popular shredders on the market. Of course the end result
of unreadable pieces of paper that are impossible to restore is the most important thing.
This class of shredders also save on the cost of shredder bags and time used to change the bags
frequently. Cross cut paper shredder also requires more regular lubrication than strip cutting models.
Also from time to time running the shredder in reverse can remove some of the waste that can
accumulate in the blades.
As identity theft and company espionage becomes more of an issue, closer attention will be directed at
methods of document disposal. Remember even papers found in the trash are not legally protected so
they are targeted by individuals looking to find out more information about you or your business. The
cross cut paper shredder has the ability to render sensitive documents unreadable and impossible to
reassemble. Most cross cut paper shredders are highly recommended by reviewers and are perfect for
personal, home use and for any size

My Experience Of Art Since elementary school I have envisioned my life deeply intertwined with art, however, at the same time I also knew that vision never had me living out the stereotype of a starving artist either. By the time third grade would roll around though, it would be made evident that art in its most traditional since of drawing and painting would be the outlet I was always looking for. Understanding my niche in the creative world would take me over a decade of self evaluation, inspiration, and research. I never started out saying I was going to be an artist, I still did a child s fair share of doodles and finger painting but it was never anything that raptured my attention. • 11. Theme Of Duality In Romeo And Juliet Duality is when one thing or idea contains two conflicting sides. Duality is a theme seen in both Jekyll and Hyde and Romeo and Juliet. In both of these works of literature there are many different ways that the theme of duality is displayed. There are also many instances in which duality is used in modern literature and entertainment, the movie Split for example. In these stories the duality of human nature is displayed by the characters and situations that are included. In the Shakespearean play named Romeo and Juliet duality is displayed mainly by quotes and situations. At the end of the play prince escalus says A glooming peace this morning with it brings (V iii 316). This quote shows duality when it describes peace with glooming. This is an adequate example of duality because while describing peace, which has a positive connotation, the word glooming, in which a negative connotation is used. Another quote that displays duality is what Friar Laurence says near the beginning of the play Virtue itself turns vice, being misapplied,/ And vice sometime by action dignified (II iii 21 22). Obviously vice and virtue are opposite in nature, vice meaning something that is immoral or wicked, and virtue being something that displays high moral standards. Comparing these two very different things gives an idea of the dual nature of man. Duality is also used as a literary device that relates to irony. Irony is when the expectation of something is different than the reality. Although irony and duality are not the same thing, they are closely related as to how they are used, and in what situations they are used. The following quote is an example of dramatic irony and duality, O son, the night before thy wedding day/Hath Death lain with thy wife. There she lies,/Flower as she was, deflowerèd by him./Death is my son in law; Death is my heir (IV v 41 44). This quote shows dramatic irony because Lord Capulet believes that Juliet is dead even though we know that she is not; in addition it represents the theme of duality because it is saying that juliet is married to death. Marriage is being represented as a good thing, but turns into a bad thing when she is said to be married to death itself. In Romeo and Juliet there ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Scientists began to wonder what else is the DNA made up of and what is it s structure. Many competed to discover the DNA. It just so happens in 1953 two men succeeded in their goal. James Watson and Francis Crick made a mark in the history of science. On this day February 28, 1953 Watson and Crick made the discovery of a double helix in the DNA. Studying DNA is understanding how genes process within new cells. It helps discover the genetic code and protein synthesis. DNA has a complex structure simple enough to be discovered. The two men had very different personalities, they respected each other s work and became very good friends. Through this friendship Watson and Crick came up with an idea of testing their theory of how the DNA molecule might fit together by using stick ball models. Even though their first attempt failed, they didn t give up. In addition to the stick ball models, Watson and Crick used x ray pictures to give them ideas for the structure. There were two scientists that were experts in taking these x ray pictures. Watson and Crick used pictures taken by Rosaline Franklin and Maurice Wilkins to gain some valuable information. Within two years of starting their study Crick and Watson were able to put together an accurate model of the DNA structure. The double helix model shape would eventually help scientist all over the world learn more about genetics. DNA is composed of nucleotide deoxyribose sugar a phosphate group and four nitrogen. Michael Pollan Omnivore Dilemma Michael Pollan in 2006, published a work that has to some degree changed the way that people eat, or at the very least attempted to change the way that we think about the food we eat. (Shea 54) Pollan demonstrates through fundamentally modern rhetoric the relationship that people, and more specifically American s have with food and how very distant we are from it. ( History, Old Favorites in B08) To some degree Pollan, others like him and internationally challenging food shortages and even worse food born illnesses and scares are changing the way that food is understood with regard to an international and national food traceability and accountability movement. The ethos of the work is derived from the fact that Pollan is willing and able as an individual, on a very intimate level to trace all these links to a formidable conclusion, as well as his own credential as a consumer and a food writer. (Shea 54) He vividly describes his experiences and what he has learned, so the reader can participate in his exploration of the many worlds of food in the United States. • 15. The Four Advantages Of A Foraging Society I normally consider myself to be a person who appreciates simplicity, so my initial reaction to this question was that I would prefer a foraging society to an industrial society. By the time I had finished thinking it through, however, I was less certain of my preference. Four advantages of a foraging society that I find particularly compelling (in addition to simplicity, to whatever extent that assumption is true) relate to human health, population control, egalitarianism, and sustainability. The need to hunt and gather for subsistence means that people are active through the day and unlikely to indulge in laziness and in wasteful overeating habits that can wreak havoc on human health. Therefore, it stands to reason that lifestyle linked health problems, such as diabetes, coronary disease, obesity, and in some cases, cancer are less commonplace or non existent in foraging societies. In an industrial society, we have the technical ability to alter things not intended for human consumption into food with questionable safety. I m thinking about everything from aspartame to Twinkies, to genetically modified organisms... there is no shortage of examples of consumables in an industrialized society that should be considered eat at your own risk. We have moved away from consuming simple, whole foods and toward an array of fast food habits just because we can. Unfortunately, the negative health impacts of some of these habits are becoming clearer all the time. In biology I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It required the world s largest superpowers and billions of dollars of research and development to create the first rockets capable of carrying human beings into space. Approximately 60 years later, we find ourselves still struggling to reach LEO (low Earth Orbit) without breaking the bank. With the retirement of the Space Shuttle in 2011, the United States has lost its only dedicated vehicle capable sending astronauts and payloads into orbit. Relying on the Russian Soyuz vehicle for our missions, the price of sending people into space has continued to be astronomical. America needs a new line of cheaper rockets to fit the demand of future missions, and what role the government should play in this expensive development process is a complicated debate which affects many people. We re paying too much to go to space. NASA typically contracts out launch vehicles from private companies for their launch needs, and historically they have almost always gone to the United Launch Alliance (a joint venture between Lockheed and Boeing). Up until recently, they have been one of the only organizations capable of sending cargo to both low Earth orbit and geosynchronous orbit (an orbit which matches the trajectory of the craft with the rotation of the Earth). As a result, a monopoly has been created, and the price of sending anything into space costs a ridiculous amount of money. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mummification began around c.3500 BCE and by the Old Kingdom it had become a standard practice. Everything Egyptians did, including mummification had to do with their religious beliefs. They followed rituals to please the gods and therefore received something in exchange. Moreover, they believed that mummifying a body was preparing a person for their afterlife. The importance of life, from the sight of his parents, is linked to material possessions and public display. Once the protagonist leaves all his past behind heading for adventures on his way to Alaska, there is another palatal conversation with one of his coworkers that clearly highlights this point: why people, why every fucking person is so bad to each other so fucking often . Nature is thus understood as the summum of virtue and pureness in contrast with the vices and depravation of the system. The Pros And Cons Of Foreign Aid To Aid or Not to Aid Foreign aid has played an enormous role in the United States government policy, especially since the mid twentieth century, following World War II. At that time, the U.S. began providing financial aid, through the Marshall Plan, to help rebuild Europe (Williams, 2015). Today, foreign aid has evolved to mean a variety of things. Most people think that a large portion of the U.S. budget is devoted to foreign aid. In contrast, according to Rutsch (2015), the U.S. spends less than 1 percent of the federal budget on foreign aid . With the state of the world today, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
