Pablo Picasso
Pablo Picasso is my choice because of 2 things; First is that anything that starts with the letter P (like
my name) usually goes well with me and second, because I am fascinated by the fact that Picasso didn
t do a different type of work aside from the current period he was in. For example, he didn t use warm
bright colors in his Blue period. It s fascinating to me because my artistic movements don t
concentrate on a particular medium and mood within a particular amount of time; I am a very
miscellaneous artist. The works I have chosen are, The Old Guitarist and Jacqueline with Flowers .
On October 5, 1881 Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios

Three Women and Girl with Mandolin were the well known works in this period.
Later came the Classical Period which was occured during World War I which influenced Picasso s
art. This occured between 1918 and 1927. This was where the war had put him back to reality, where
he want to back to realism temporarily. Works inlcuded were Three Women at the Spring and The
Pipes of Pan .
After his short Realism works, he went the opposite Surrealism. The Surrealism period happened
since Picasso had caught up on cultural and philosophical movements from 1927. His most famous
work was finished during the Spanish Civil War in 1937. This work was called Guernica where
German Bombers attacked the town of Guernica. I consisted of the neutral colors of blacs, whites and
grays. It showed the horrors of war with facial expressions in pain. This piece was powerful and
moving against the idea of war in

Example Of Introvert And Extroverts
since colonising many psychiatrist has brain stormed the terms introvert and extrovert, no body has
actually been fully sure what makes some people have affinity for constant social involvement and
others bound from it. But latterly , science has begun doing some analysis on this front and their
outcomes shows that introverts and extroverts are born that way, not been made. Though many people
are not familiar with the term introversion and often think of it as being shy and mistakes extroversion
with being over friendly, the terms are actually assigned to their relationship with people. Extroverts
links being social to actually feeling confident and soul nourishing whereas introverts find it taxing
and often feel the need of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Conclusion points After going through many research papers and reading articles one can conclude
that being an introvert or an extrovert is in fact a condition. Introverts are preferably fine speaking out
loud or being a little extroverted when the time needs. That does not mean that all introverts and
extroverts behave in this particular manner but this is one of the possibilities. both of the terms
contemplative people and outgoing individuals have turned out to be focal parts of the identity
hypotheses. As indicated by numerous hypotheses of identity, everybody has some level of both
introspection and extraversion. In any case, individuals regularly tend to lean one way or the other.
Self observers have a tendency to be all the more tranquil, held, and contemplative. Dissimilar to
outgoing people who pick up vitality from social cooperation, self observers need to consume vitality
in social circumstances. Subsequent to going to a gathering or investing energy in an extensive
gathering of individuals, thoughtful people frequently want to revive by investing a timeframe

The Coach Research Paper
Sports are a form of entertainment, whether it is playing them or watching them. Yet part of the
entertainment is also the audience. The fans can have a large impact on the game itself as well as your
experience. We all have that one friend who is way too competitive, whether it involves sports or just
who finishes eating first. They cannot choose what things to be competitive at, for that nature is in
their blood. The Coach is the most competitive player out of the fans. In a game, you will scarcely, see
them sit down, and they are so competitive that they act as if they are actually playing the game. They
could be sitting as high as the nosebleed seats and shouting at the players, telling them what to do, as
if the players could somehow hear them. Yet they are being obnoxious to the people around them, for,
unfortunately, they can hear them quite clearly. Coaches are essentially the backseat drivers of sports.
The next fan we have is the complete opposite of a Coach, hence the quotation marks. Phonies come
for the experience, not for the game. Phonies often come wearing all of the team s gear, yet it is all for
the aesthetics and for the sports façade. You may think that the game is on their phone because that is
what they ll spend most of their time watching. Unlike the Coach, others will not notice or pay much
attention to Phonies, yet you will know they were there because it will be posted on social media or
other public accounts. Coaches tend to be stubborn and close minded, so not much bothers them.
Except for the Rookie. Rookies are the bane of Coaches. Unlike Phonies, they are genuinely interested
in the game. Unfortunately, they know little to nothing about the sport, and the people to suffer are the
ones like Coaches. They are constantly asking questions about how it works and what s going on in
the game, preventing others from fully enjoying and experiencing the game. Unlike Coaches, Rookies
do not bother the rest of the fans, but only the ones they are close with. One good thing about Rookies
is that they are honest. Followers also are not completely familiar with the game, yet they try to be
discreet about it. They go with the flow of the crowd, yet you

Example Of Syncretism
The term syncretism refers to the process of amalgamation of conflicting principles and cultural
practices among two or more religions. This concept syncretism plays an important role in the rise of
secular nation states. In India the scene is such that at one hand, we encourage for the unity in
diversity and on the other to find more about the differences among groups to indicate certain
uniqueness. This strategy in a religious context can be a form of resistance for cultural dominance and
certain power to be established over the so called minority groups. Though each group or community
has its own distinctive identity and values, it does not and cannot exist isolated from the others. In this
line of argument this paper written by JJ Roy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Descriptive Essay On Myrtle Beach
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina attracts about 14 million visitors per year because of its warm weather,
beaches, and activities.
During the summer of 2015, my brother, Ryan and I traveled to Fayetteville, North Carolina to visit
my cousin, Julian, aunt, Heather, and uncle, Rich. As they have a condo in Myrtle Beach, Heather
wanted to take us there. Julian was going to go along too, but Rich had to work at his dental office so
he couldn t make it.
After spending about three days in Fayetteville, it was finally time to take the drive to their condo. On
the way there, we first had to stop at the local Starbucks since it is a daily ritual of my aunts. While
sipping our Starbucks we drove through several rundown cities and ended up seeing a large ... Show

Boardwalk is similar to a fair on the ocean. It has several shops and restaurants along the area s
borders. It also had games and rides. Before shopping we went to a fancy seafood restaurant where we
had lobster, crab legs, salad, bread, and pasta. When we finished with the meal, we began our
adventure along Boardwalk. We stopped in many shops but what caught my eye was a boat in the
center of the Boardwalk doing fast turns and tricks. We found out that people can ride on them, so
naturally, us kids wanted to ride on them. We found the ticket booth, bought our ticket and waited for
our ride.
The ride was full of adrenaline. It actually felt like a rollercoaster and that you were going to be
launched out. Nonetheless, I would do it again.
We returned to our condo to sleep after some shopping, eating, and lots of walking. The next morning
we were to head back to Fayetteville .

The Effect Of The Reformation On The Roman Catholic Church
The Effect of the Reformation on the Roman Catholic Church The Roman Catholic Church grew from
an outlawed and persecuted religion to a well organized and powerful ruling body in the western
world. After the death of Jesus of Nazareth his disciples begin to spread his teachings of love and
salvation through a single God. However, early Christians quickly became seen as a threat to the most
powerful Empire at the time; Rome. Being monotheistic they refused to offer sacrifice to state ran
cults and as pacifist they refused to join the army. The Roman Empires power laid in both the military
and taxation so early Christians became the targets of persecution. In 64 CE Rome declares
Christianity illegal and it remained so for almost three hundred years. However, Christianity doesn t
die and when Emperor Constantine made Christianity legal with the Edict of Milan 313 the church
grew quickly. Later Emperor Theodosius declares Catholic Christianity the official religion of Rome
and bans paganism. From here the Catholic Church grew in power and influence becoming the single
most powerful institution the western world. Socially it controlled the everyday lives of people and
played a major role in the governing of those same people. Institutionally the church was well
organized and based on hierarchy operating like an empire similar to the one that tried to destroy it
early in its history. Thanks to this the church also wielded tremendous governing power. However, this
all changed

Essay about Analysis of “the Tyger” and “the Lamb”
In The Tyger, William Blake explains that there is more that meets the eye when one examines the
Creator and his creation, the tiger. The character is never defined. All throughout the poem the
character questions the Creator of the tiger to determine if the Creator is demonic or godlike. The
poem reflects mainly the character s reaction to the tiger, rather than the tiger s reaction to the world.
The character is inquiring about the location of the Creator of the tiger when he says, In what distant
deeps or skies (5). In this quote the character is trying to figure out where exactly the Creator is
located. He wants to know if he s in Heaven or Hell. The words deeps and skies could have many
meanings. The description of deeps ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On one hand this is a reference to the God of the Bible; but on the other, it could be a reference to
Blake himself. Surely, the poem is as inspiring as it is ambiguous. Someone that is of no religion
would think other wise or maybe someone wouldn t care who made the tiger.
Blake uses symbols to express the strength of the tiger and its Creator. The main symbol in The Tyger
is the tiger itself. The tiger is formed on a number of ideas, which is the eye of man and God, but it is
also a sign of the very same eye, which created it. The word fire is used to exemplify the aggressive
character of the tiger, Burnt the fire of thine eyes? (6). The fire can be used to describe the way the
tiger sees and is seen by other people. When a person sees or comes into contact with a tiger, the
person gets tense right away because we know that one false move and the tiger may attack. This
example shows how vicious and hostile the tiger can be just as a hurricane. The Creator could also be
described as a hostile person also. This might be a depiction of himself. The sign of fire is leading in
the structure of the poem. To know the foundation of the fire is to know the source of the Creator. He
relates the tiger s environment to one during the Industrial Revolution when he says, What the
hammer? What the chain? / In what furnace was thy brain? (13 14). This tells

The Effect Of Bovine Growth Hormone Injections On Cows
According to Purdue University the United States is responsible for the production of over 20 billion
gallons of milk per year. This milk is either pasteurized and sold or further manufactured into other
forms of dairy such as cream cheese or ice cream. Many Americans have an unrealistic dream of
where their milk is produced; a grassy farm where the cows are able to roam freely and be milked by
hand. However, this is not the reality in America. Today, most dairy farms use machinery to milk their
cows and often leave them in cramped spaces. In order to increase the amount of milk a cow produces,
farmers have started to treat their cows with bovine growth hormone. Because of this practice many
arguments have come up to stop the use of Bovine Growth Hormone injections in cows. This is due to
the alleged side effects this milk is said to produce; for example cancer or antibiotic insensitivity. This
leaves anyone who drinks milk is potentially susceptible to these effects. The FDA gives details of the
biology of Bovine Growth Hormone. Bovine Growth Hormone is naturally found in all animals,
including humans, and enhances growth, development and health maintenance. It was discovered that
by injecting cows with the hormone, found in the pituitary gland, then their milk production would
increase. In the 1980 s it became possible to mass produce the hormone. Monsanto, Eli Lilly, Upjohn,
and American Cyanamid are the four companies that marketed bovine growth hormone. Monsanto

Persuasive Advertising Strategy
An advertisement is usually thought of as promotion and generally the main goal is to generate money,
however, that is not always the case. There are many genres of advertisement such as marketing,
persuasion, or encouragement in which all have similar, yet different, goals and purposes. A marketing
advertisement main motive is to sell a product. This can be achieved through many common
advertising techniques such as claims, repetition, association, bandwagon, or promotion, to name a
few. Persuasion and encouragement advertisement may also be projected by these techniques as well,
but there may be a different goal. Persuasive advertising could also tie into marketing as well being
that some ads try to sway consumers into buying their company s product. Encouragement and
persuasive ads may also go hand and hand with each other as well. These types of ads are usually less
about money and more about getting a point across to the people. Well known examples of this is a
Click it or Ticket it commercial or an advertisement telling people to stop smoking. Every company

human and how hard it is to be different and accept others, looking beyond the surface to see the

Research Proposal On Water Fountains
BACKGROUND
The current water fountains at Lawrenceburg High School are broken with poor filtration systems.
The water fountains are also inconvenient for the students and the school. The current water fountains
are costing the school more money, because the filtration is not effective and water is lost. The old
water fountains pose many threats such as making students sick from improper sanitation and not
allowing the students to get the appropriate amount of water they need throughout the day. The
students can be late to class trying to find water, which will cut into their learning time. Access to free,
potable, and appealing drinking water in schools is important because children spend substantial time
in school settings, and students may come to school already dehydrated (Pantel). This text explains the
importance of having proper water fountains in school. Students and faculty at Lawrenceburg High
School need new water fountain, because it will be very beneficial to the school as a whole.
OBJECTIVES
The objective of this research proposal is for Lawrenceburg HIgh School to receive functional water
fountains with notable water filtration system. New water fountains at Lawrenceburg High School
would be very beneficial. New water fountains with a better filtration system means water being saved
on the school budget, allowing students to get enough hydration, and being very troublesome to
anyone who wants to use them. The new water fountains will allow students proper

Social Media in Marketing Strategy
Social Media in Marketing Strategy
Introduction
The internet technologies have made dramatic impacts on the traditional marketing activities over the
past decade. Especially, the boom of social media technologies such as Facebook, Twitter, blogs and
so on in recent years, which are fundamentally revolutionizing the ways in which people socialise and
exchange information on a daily basis. The YouTube video clip Gangnam Style by South Korean
singer, Park Jae sang (2012) generated millions of views and made him a worldwide superstar
overnight, which essentially proves that the power of social media cannot be underestimated in today s
world. The topic of how to take advantages of the social media channels when creating marketing

And most influential of them all, the interactive forms like Facebook and Twitter can be utilised as a
platform to engage customers in active conversations with the brand. Due to the grouping of users
with mutual backgrounds as well as general interests, a liked or shared content among friends would
attract more and more people to join the conversation. Therefore, companies would be able to gain
insights into how the brand is perceived in the targeted customers minds. Benefits of Social Media
To start with, social media channels greatly amplify the effect of word of mouth (WOM) marketing.
Unlike traditional advertising campaigns, WOM communications are generated purely based on the
customer experiences as opposed to being paid to promote a particular brand. Therefore, when it
comes to make purchase decisions on an unfamiliar brand, the suggestions by a close friend who is
likely to share the same interests become a reliable and convincing source of reference (Cheema and
Kaikati, 2010). Gershoff and Johar (2006) states that consumers frequently depend on others for
purchasing opinions of intended products, especially those with great financial and psychic risk.
Several studies (Godes amp; Mayzlin, 2004; Trusov et al., 2009; Herr et al., 1991) have illustrated that
WOM communications are more effective and efficient than the traditional marketing channels. Social
media provides the modern

Sustainability and Organic Foods Essay
Sustainability and Organic Foods
People nowadays are getting into the go green lifestyle while others continue to live without thinking
about the effects they have on the environment. Why do people go green? It can save you money, it is
the right thing to do, it is healthier because there are less toxins and less illness, it is helping future
generations, and it is a chance to connect with the local community and spread the word. To go along
with this lifestyle and its benefits, catering companies are pushing to become more environmentally
sustainable and have more local and organic food options. Although everyone is experiencing this

Un served food products would be donated to local charities and fryer grease would be collected and
recycled (Shock, 2011, p. 134). I could maybe consider solar panels or reducing the use of paper by
having reusable menus for example. Becoming more sustainable and having healthier and fresher
options comes with a price. Depending on how much you want to change can affect the financial
impact, but generally more efficient equipment and organic foods are more expensive. So generally if
you are eventually upgrade the building, appliances, and food options to be eco friendly and organic
the financial impact will be large but also positive because overtime you should be making your
money back and more as well as helping the environment. Organic and local foods always come at a
higher price because they are naturally grown rather than artificially with chemicals at a faster rate.
Organic farmers work hard to grow their foods naturally at a much slower pace so they need to
increase their prices to make it worthwhile. If a catering company is buying more expensive foods, it
impacts the prices on the menu and causes them to rise so they can still make profit. These days I
believe a company can still be competitive with higher prices because many people are looking for on
premise caterers who offer these healthier options. Many people are worried about the increasing
obesity rates and staying healthy so they are willing to pay more for those options. Like stated

Duty In Aeneas
The Roman concept of duty was central to nearly everything they did and was tied closely to their
belief in the gods. This was especially true for Aeneas; his sense of duty drove his entire journey. The
Roman concept of duty essentially included loyalty to one s family and to the gods, which ultimately
becomes one s duty to his fate.
Aeneas, the depiction of the ideal Roman man, was very loyal to his family. Aeneas finds it of utmost
importance during his journey to visit his father in the underworld before settling with his people in
what would eventually become Rome. Aeneas wants to get advice and counsel from his father because
he values his opinion, but, more than that, Aeneas knows that one of the most important things in his

Fate is often personified in ancient literature because it is a driving force behind many people s
journeys and actions. The same was true for Aeneas. His duty to the gods was tied closely to his duty
to fate and to destiny. Basically, the reason for all of Aeneas journey is tied to his fate. Aeneas had
been told by the gods that he was to found a great city which would grow and become an empire
Rome. Aeneas even placed his duty to fate above his own desires and passions. When Aeneas visits
the underworld and sees his former lover, Dido, there, Aeneas frantically tries to appease her and
explain why he had to leave her. He explains, I left your land against my will, my queen./ The gods
commands drove me to do their will (6.244 245). Aeneas was destined to found Rome, and despite his
own longing to stay with Dido, his duty to the gods and to fate trumped his own desires. However,
Aeneas duty to the gods and their will was also a positive thing. After Vulcan gave Aeneas the shield
which depicted the great feats of his descendants in Rome, Aeneas was motivated and proud. The
shield showed many of his descendants passionately fighting for Rome, such as Augustus Caesar
leading into battle/ Italians, with both senators and people (8.91 92). Aeneas remained faithful to the
gods and to his family by persevering through difficulties, remembering his family, and fighting
battles

actions, and to be fair, that is because they can be a rather convincing ones. It is a universal truth that it
is humanity s responsibility to care for that which gives the human race everything, the earth. Yet at
what cost? Are radical environmental groups justified in employing direct action tactics involving
illegal acts, or even violent ones? It is a question with no easy answer, but through an examination into
the history and motives of one such particular environmental group, Sea Shepherd, a conclusion
leaning towards support is hard not to reach. It should be noted, however, that this positive conclusion
can only be applied to the present, and should groups such as Sea ... Show more content on

This is because, for the most part, the illegal actions these groups take to protect the environment
actually do not do much at all in terms of direct change. It is one thing to justify illegal actions that
only harm businesses and organizations, but a completely different matter if actual human beings are
hurt or killed for the sake of a cause that does not facilitate highly successful results. In one particular
case study that relates to Sea Shepherd s direct action tactics against Japanese whaling ships, it was
found that simply educating the public about the negative effects of whaling and eating whale meat
had a bigger effect than Sea Shepherd s actions. (Hoek 2010, 1) This is important to note so it can be
understood that the value of direct action tactics used by environmental groups such as Sea Shepherd
is not in direct change but in the form of creating publicity and

Animal Humane Mission Statement
The Animal Humane Association mission is to To engage the hearts, hands and minds of the
community to help animals. Even with thoughtful and helpful volunteers, saving animals takes the
capital. On average twenty thousand pets come through the doors of the Animal Humane Association
looking for care, vaccines, and forever homes. The Animal Humane Association use seventy four
percent of their profits to provide for animals in need, while the other twenty six percent goes to the
organizing and management of the foundation. Oftentimes seventy percent of profits is just not

Student protests growing over gender equal dress codes I think that dress code at school is gender bias
because it s female specific, your socioeconomic status will help determine if you get dress coded or
not, boys don t usually get dress coded like girls do, and girls have a harder time dressing age

a tank top, or exposing a bra strap. Schools can be petty when getting on to girls for dress code issues.

Today s society thinks that a size zero woman and a man with perfect six pack abs is the ideal look.
Why is that? That is because the media shoves it in their viewers faces at any chance they get. In
recent years, society s standards have become much thinner. This makes it more difficult for women
and men to reach the ideal body image. The desire for perfection is unrealistic and even dangerous.
This generation is purely based off of the media. The media puts these crazy ideas out there and

Network security revolves around confidentiality, authentication, message integrity, and access
availability.
The vulnerabilities of wireless networking may involve the attack of web browsers, on line banking,
DNS servers, and routers exchanging routing table updates, purchases, transactions or stolen personal
data. The lack of security with a wireless system may result in denial of service, hijacking, fake
impersonation, or eavesdropping for interception of messages through cyber crimes. Each
communicating user should select the language of cryptography, agree and share the symmetric key.
The best security practices includes firewalls, intrusion detection systems, secured and updated
applications, transport, configured properly working network, and link layers.

The 1967 Film The Battle Of The Algiers
The 1967 movie, The Battle of the Algiers, follows the story of the Algerian revolt against the French
government. The film, focusing mostly on the Arabs point of view, portrays an unstable period of time
during the French colonialization of Algeria. Throughout the movie, the gender politics shown are
greatly troubling to a modern audience, with women being treated like objects during the entire revolt.
This also ties to the idea of morality within the film, showing that the terrorists are heartless and
uncompassionate towards the French people. The film not only highlights the morality issues with the
Arabs, but also the French treatment of the Algerian revolutionaries.

Egyptian history is rich, vibrant, and full of interesting cultural knowledge. Egypt is one of the most

Egyptians have been polytheistic since the beginning of time and throughout the Old Kingdom,

Assessment And Summative Assessment
An assessment is the process of gathering, interpreting and recording information about the students
and reflects on the information gathered to make effective decisions in the future to improve the
learning process.
Assessments is a vital part of our curriculum planning of lessons. It is something connected to the
teaching and learning process. It has an important role to play in deciding the levels of achievement
within the school. Effective assessments provide information to improve the teaching and learning
process. It is also important to give feedback on the student s learning progress, so that they
understand where they went wrong and areas where the student is supposed to work on.
There are three types of assessment, they are diagnostic assessment, formative assessment and

Examples of summative assessments are tests, assignments and projects. The tests, assignments, or

Almost every teacher keeps track and records of summative assessments mainly because it showcases
a student s understanding level through grading at the end of a learning session. But it is also
important to keep track and records of formative assessments too because it is done during the
learning process. Record keeping and tracking down the results of assessments is a very important part
of a teacher s role. Schools and teachers keep records of assessments for the purpose of teaching and
enhancing the learning process. Teachers need to keep effective records for every student. It allows

Why Is The Third Little Pig Admirable
The Three Little Pigs Essay

reason why the third little pig is hard working is because he took the time and effort to build a brick

transport them to the location where is the house was going to be.He then continued to lay the bricks

Greek Influence On Roman Architecture
The Romans didn t invent the arch but they rather developed and exploit it. Actually, the Romans
appropriated a lot from the Hellenistic architecture she came to be in contact with and under the Greek
influences. They took form the Greeks three orders of architecture, Doric, Ionic, Corinthian to which
was added a hybrid called composite. Concrete and arch were both very important in the survival of
Rome as great empire, since they were considerably proficiently used in her architecture and
construction of public buildings, walls, bridges and aqueducts.
The concrete was developed from Pozzolana, a chocolate colored volcanic earth originally fond in

structures (bridges, aqueducts, and gateways) displayed the esthetic and beauty of the Roman

Skepticism
01/07/2018
Skepticism is something which the early philosophers such as Rene Descartes and George Berkeley
addressed, and still, the issue of reality has remained debated for centuries by philosophers
(Schmerheim, 2015). This paper discusses the topic of whether the Matrix film is more like Descartes
evil deceiver or otherwise like the Berkeley s God by analyzing the philosophy with regards to the
Matrix film. The Matrix is a 1999 film that is significantly founded on the question of what is reality
and Berkeley and Descartes, on the other hand, perceived the world as having two different versions
of the truth. This paper will thus discuss the philosophy of Descartes and Berkeley concerning the
concept of reality and then provide supporting evidence how the Matrix film is a reflection of their
ideas.
The Matrix film describes a world in which the reality that is perceived by humans. The Matrix which
is a reality that is established by malevolent machines. The machines then overcome and appease the
humans so that the devices can get a source of energy from their electrical activity and bodies heat

Analysis of Pat Mora s La Migra
Pat Mora s La Migra is a poem presenting two speakers, one female and one male, who are playing

language, but includes ambiguity of whether the players are children approaching a disturbingly
mature theme or whether they re adults trying to minimize the stress of the situation. Despite both
interpretations being decently supported by the text, I support the first for a few key reasons.

4) A runner s starting point in a race. The speaker uses marks as a metaphor to her life. This one word
organizes the entire poem by setting the direction, tone, and meaning of the poem. With its multiple
meanings, the word marks plays a significant role. By analyzing the word marks in the context of the
poem, I want to demonstrate the absolute necessity of that one word in this particular poem.
The woman s life is graded with marks. A mark, meaning grade, is usually something that has nothing
to do with a housewife or a mother. However, in this poem marks play a vital role in the speaker s
identity. Her family gives her grades as a housewife and a mother. The word marks compares and
contrasts her life with standards that are not her own. Grades are a part of the woman s life, for she is
identified through them. Marks are the result of accomplishing a certain standard (e.g. 80% is a B,
90% and above is an A, etc). Students strive to get good grades because good grades equals good
student. Grades identify who you are. It doesn t matter how much time and effort you have spent only
the result counts. In this poem, the woman s entire life is defined and evaluated with grades: for her
husband she is an A, an incomplete, and a B+; for her son she is average; for her daughter she is a
Pass. It is interesting that all the marks the woman receives from her family are not bad at all (besides

Immobilized Metal Affinity Chromatography
Proteins with his tags are purified using IMAC, immobilized metal affinity chromatography. The
protein product interacts with a metal that is reversibly bound to an immobilized chelating group. The
immobolized chelating group acts as a Lewis base (electron pair donor) to which the Lewis acid
(electron pair acceptor) metal ion is coordinated. The support to which the metal ion binds is called a
ligand. When an electron donor group is replaced by another, the action is referred to as ligand
exchange. The donor atoms involved in this exchange are the electronegative nitrogen, sulfur, or
oxygen. These atoms scavenge for sources of electrons. The structure formed when the metal ions are

In this paper I will refer to the immobilized Lewis base as the ligand. The combination of the metal
ion with the ligand will be referred to as the affinity ligand. IMAC can be performed employing ion
exchange resins as the ligand, but in the separation of proteins only chelating groups have been used
to fix the metal ion to the support. Schmuckler compared the binding energy of transition metal
cations with ordinary cation exchangers and with chelating groups. He found the chelating groups
binding energy to be 15 to 25 kcal/mol whereas the ordinary ion exchangers have a binding energy of
2 to 3 kcal/mol. (Nes, 1999) This characteristic has led to chelating groups as the ligand of choice in
IMAC. The chelating groups used in IMAC are multidentate chelating compounds providing the
strength of the complex formed by the protein, metal ion and chelating group. Free coordination sites
in the metal ion must be present in the structure formed after the metal ion is chelated by the chelating
group to allow for the adsorption or binding of solvent molecules or proteins. (Sulkowski, 1985)
Differences in the number of free coordination sites plays a part in the selectivity of chelating
substances for a target protein.
Commonly used metal chelating substances include iminodiacetic acid (IDA) and nitriloacetic

creatures fluttering around me. A soft chirping sound was escaping their bodies and encasing me in
their melody, it was so very mesmerizing. I stood up and felt a draft go over my face, I looked up to
see bats fluttering about me as they flew from the room, I the followed the sounds of their wings and
chirps, to a small pond like room with a large hole in the roof. and from where I stood I could see the
sky perfectly. The sun was setting. And the sky was an array of different colors. It was amazing. I
never wanted to leave, but then out of the corner of my eye a black figure came from the water, I then
heard a very high pitched scream which brought a ringing to my ears, and i flinched away and and as I
did so I felt a slight wind against my cheek. Whatever it was had came so close to me I felt the wind
from its claws or fingers as they reached for me. I then heard and felt something begin ripping as my
hair was then pulled out of my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Do No Harm
An article from The New York Times, On Assisted Suicide, Going Beyond Do No Harm , addresses
the issue of physician assisted suicide. This is an issue that affects the entire world, and there are a
vast difference of opinions on it. Physician assisted suicide involves a doctor knowingly and
deliberately providing a person with the information or means, or both, essential to commit suicide.
This includes counseling about lethal doses of medications, prescribing lethal doses and/or supplying
the medications. However, even as assisted suicide has gained broader support, the ones most strongly
opposed to it hasn t shifted: doctors. So what is meant by do no harm? This is a huge topic of debate in
the United States.
Due to science and technology ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many believe legalization of assisted suicide would eventually lead to acts reminiscent of Nazi
Germany. So far this has not been noted in any of the countries where it has been legalized. We are
also told that assisted suicide laws will allow physicians and nurses to avoid providing quality
palliative care to patients, which also remains to be seen.
The article states that with the right safety measures in place, assisted suicide can help give terminally
ill patients a sense of control over their lives as extreme pain and illness torture them. It suggests that
instead of using our energies to convince patients who might want to end their lives while terminally
ill or suffering horribly, physicians need to reassess how they can help patients achieve their goals
when the end is near. We should be able to offer options for those who wish for assisted suicide, so
that they can take control of their own death.
The author of the article feels that instead of looking for guidance from ancient proclamations, we
need to re evaluate what patients face in modern times. Even if it is a path we personally wouldn t
recommend, we should allow patients suffering from painful and debilitating disease the

Consumerism And Consumerism
Consumerism is deeply embedded in our culture and heavily influences our day to day behavior and
interactions with others. Examples of consumerism include the fashion industry, our obsession with
getting the newest technology, and why we purchase a certain type of car. The downside with our
obsession of constant buying is that there are so many negative side effects that impact the
environment, worker s lives (working conditions, low wages, poor living conditions) and our own
relationships with our families, coworkers and friends. There is a lot of evidence of these side effects,
and yet we keep buying into this cycle. We should know better, and yet it seems like it will be very
hard to get us to change our habits. The works of Richard Wilkinson and Kate Pickett, Phillip
Bauman, Julia Pugh in, and Pierre Bourdieu in attempt to explain why we continue to practice
consumerist focused lifestyles. In The Spirit Level by Richard Wilkinson and Kate Pickett, their focus
is on the relationship between consumerism and climate change. Pickett and Wilkinson state that the
inequality between classes in society increases the cultural pressure to consume more and more, or to
consume competitively. This is because we are afraid of looking like we are second class or less than
we are, and are afraid of losing our place in society. In this way our obsessive buying habits have
become a defense mechanism against falling out of our hard earned place. As the inequality grows and
the distinctions between classes becomes ever clearer, we have to work harder in order to keep buying
and consuming to stay on top. Because we are spending more, we are saving less and borrowing more,
one statistic in the book states that, in 1998 even though the American economy was booming...one
family in sixty eight had filed for bankruptcy. (p. 227). In this way consumerism becomes a vicious
cycle that is incredibly hard to get out of because there are very few other options. This is all because
of how social we are, and how important it is to fit in with those around us. In Liquid Life by Zygmunt
Bauman, he explains our need for consumption because of the way society progresses in what he calls
a liquid modern society. He describes liquid

Formative Literacy Assessment
Assessments and feedbacks are crucial to helping students learn effectively. Evaluating student s
abilities to comprehend text and science concepts is a major component because it helps the teacher
know how their student s literacy skills are developing (Rakes Smith, 1992). Therefore, assigning
formative literacy assessments are crucial in STEM classrooms because it helps educators get an
insight on how their students would perform on high stake exams. A student who is having difficulty
understanding science passages would need an adjustment in the lesson so that he or she can focus
more on practicing their literacy skills. In my classroom, my goal is to assign a variety of formative
literacy assessment that will help my students become

March 9, 2010 Freakonmics: A Rougue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything
What they were all responding to was the force of Levitt s underly ing belief: that the modern world,
despite a surfeit of obfuscation, complication, and downright deceit, is not impenetrable, is not un

new way of looking. Stephen J. Dubner.
Freakonmics is a book written by Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubuer. Steven d. Lennits is the living

Would Roshanda by Any other name be smell as sweet? This chapter goes on by saying that even the
name your parents assign to you shows a bit of their love. These as you can see they are not the usual
chapter titles, these do leave you thinking What? or Really why? This keeps you reading. It is really
hard not to be triggered by the answers of these questions and the interpretation of them in your daily
lives. The facts that actually caught the most my attention was the on Chapter 4 was that he stated that
as Crack become more popular they had a few more police going against it, but this actually did not
change much, it only made it better for drug dealer. You might wonder why? So read the book, just
kidding. Here it goes, how the drugs Were now scarcer they could put the prices higher. This teaches
us that we have to really look careful to what our government does, because we at the moment might
think its better but it sometimes can be worse. This book is an eye opener, making you look at things
in a different way changing your views and perspective of things we thought were impossible or that
they had no relationship at all. He incentives you to formulate the correct questions by questioning
everything that you feel curious about. Just remember what a genius once said, I have no special

  • 2. Pablo Picasso Pablo Picasso is my choice because of 2 things; First is that anything that starts with the letter P (like my name) usually goes well with me and second, because I am fascinated by the fact that Picasso didn t do a different type of work aside from the current period he was in. For example, he didn t use warm bright colors in his Blue period. It s fascinating to me because my artistic movements don t concentrate on a particular medium and mood within a particular amount of time; I am a very miscellaneous artist. The works I have chosen are, The Old Guitarist and Jacqueline with Flowers . On October 5, 1881 Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Martyr Patricio Clito ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Three Women and Girl with Mandolin were the well known works in this period. Later came the Classical Period which was occured during World War I which influenced Picasso s art. Works inlcuded were Three Women at the Spring and The Pipes of Pan . After his short Realism works, he went the opposite Surrealism. The Surrealism period happened since Picasso had caught up on cultural and philosophical movements from 1927. His most famous work was finished during the Spanish Civil War in 1937. Example Of Introvert And Extroverts since colonising many psychiatrist has brain stormed the terms introvert and extrovert, no body has actually been fully sure what makes some people have affinity for constant social involvement and others bound from it. But latterly , science has begun doing some analysis on this front and their outcomes shows that introverts and extroverts are born that way, not been made. Though many people are not familiar with the term introversion and often think of it as being shy and mistakes extroversion with being over friendly, the terms are actually assigned to their relationship with people. Conclusion points After going through many research papers and reading articles one can conclude that being an introvert or an extrovert is in fact a condition. Introverts are preferably fine speaking out loud or being a little extroverted when the time needs. That does not mean that all introverts and extroverts behave in this particular manner but this is one of the possibilities. both of the terms contemplative people and outgoing individuals have turned out to be focal parts of the identity hypotheses. As indicated by numerous hypotheses of identity, everybody has some level of both introspection and extraversion. In any case, individuals regularly tend to lean one way or the other. Self observers have a tendency to be all the more tranquil, held, and contemplative. Dissimilar to outgoing people who pick up vitality from social cooperation, self observers need to consume vitality in social circumstances. • 4. The Coach Research Paper Sports are a form of entertainment, whether it is playing them or watching them. Yet part of the entertainment is also the audience. The fans can have a large impact on the game itself as well as your experience. We all have that one friend who is way too competitive, whether it involves sports or just who finishes eating first. They cannot choose what things to be competitive at, for that nature is in their blood. The Coach is the most competitive player out of the fans. In a game, you will scarcely, see them sit down, and they are so competitive that they act as if they are actually playing the game. They could be sitting as high as the nosebleed seats and shouting at the players, telling them what to do, as if the players could somehow hear them. Yet they are being obnoxious to the people around them, for, unfortunately, they can hear them quite clearly. Coaches are essentially the backseat drivers of sports. The next fan we have is the complete opposite of a Coach, hence the quotation marks. Phonies come for the experience, not for the game. Phonies often come wearing all of the team s gear, yet it is all for the aesthetics and for the sports façade. You may think that the game is on their phone because that is what they ll spend most of their time watching. Unlike the Coach, others will not notice or pay much attention to Phonies, yet you will know they were there because it will be posted on social media or other public accounts. Coaches tend to be stubborn and close minded, so not much bothers them. Except for the Rookie. Rookies are the bane of Coaches. Unlike Phonies, they are genuinely interested in the game. Unfortunately, they know little to nothing about the sport, and the people to suffer are the ones like Coaches. They are constantly asking questions about how it works and what s going on in the game, preventing others from fully enjoying and experiencing the game. Unlike Coaches, Rookies do not bother the rest of the fans, but only the ones they are close with. One good thing about Rookies is that they are honest. Followers also are not completely familiar with the game, yet they try to be discreet about it. They go with the flow of the crowd, yet you ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This concept syncretism plays an important role in the rise of secular nation states. In India the scene is such that at one hand, we encourage for the unity in diversity and on the other to find more about the differences among groups to indicate certain uniqueness. This strategy in a religious context can be a form of resistance for cultural dominance and certain power to be established over the so called minority groups. During the summer of 2015, my brother, Ryan and I traveled to Fayetteville, North Carolina to visit my cousin, Julian, aunt, Heather, and uncle, Rich. As they have a condo in Myrtle Beach, Heather wanted to take us there. Julian was going to go along too, but Rich had to work at his dental office so he couldn t make it. After spending about three days in Fayetteville, it was finally time to take the drive to their condo. • 8. The Effect Of The Reformation On The Roman Catholic Church The Effect of the Reformation on the Roman Catholic Church The Roman Catholic Church grew from an outlawed and persecuted religion to a well organized and powerful ruling body in the western world. After the death of Jesus of Nazareth his disciples begin to spread his teachings of love and salvation through a single God. However, early Christians quickly became seen as a threat to the most powerful Empire at the time; Rome. Being monotheistic they refused to offer sacrifice to state ran cults and as pacifist they refused to join the army. The Roman Empires power laid in both the military and taxation so early Christians became the targets of persecution. In 64 CE Rome declares Christianity illegal and it remained so for almost three hundred years. However, Christianity doesn t die and when Emperor Constantine made Christianity legal with the Edict of Milan 313 the church grew quickly. Later Emperor Theodosius declares Catholic Christianity the official religion of Rome and bans paganism. From here the Catholic Church grew in power and influence becoming the single most powerful institution the western world. Socially it controlled the everyday lives of people and played a major role in the governing of those same people. Institutionally the church was well organized and based on hierarchy operating like an empire similar to the one that tried to destroy it early in its history. Thanks to this the church also wielded tremendous governing power. However, this all changed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Essay about Analysis of “the Tyger” and “the Lamb” In The Tyger, William Blake explains that there is more that meets the eye when one examines the Creator and his creation, the tiger. The character is never defined. All throughout the poem the character questions the Creator of the tiger to determine if the Creator is demonic or godlike. The poem reflects mainly the character s reaction to the tiger, rather than the tiger s reaction to the world. The character is inquiring about the location of the Creator of the tiger when he says, In what distant deeps or skies (5). In this quote the character is trying to figure out where exactly the Creator is located. He wants to know if he s in Heaven or Hell. The words deeps and skies could have many meanings. Surely, the poem is as inspiring as it is ambiguous. Someone that is of no religion would think other wise or maybe someone wouldn t care who made the tiger. Blake uses symbols to express the strength of the tiger and its Creator. The main symbol in The Tyger is the tiger itself. The tiger is formed on a number of ideas, which is the eye of man and God, but it is also a sign of the very same eye, which created it. The word fire is used to exemplify the aggressive character of the tiger, Burnt the fire of thine eyes? (6). The fire can be used to describe the way the tiger sees and is seen by other people. When a person sees or comes into contact with a tiger, the person gets tense right away because we know that one false move and the tiger may attack. This example shows how vicious and hostile the tiger can be just as a hurricane. The Creator could also be described as a hostile person also. This might be a depiction of himself. The sign of fire is leading in the structure of the poem. To know the foundation of the fire is to know the source of the Creator. He relates the tiger s environment to one during the Industrial Revolution when he says, What the hammer? What the chain? / In what furnace was thy brain? (13 14). This tells ... • 12. The Effect Of Bovine Growth Hormone Injections On Cows According to Purdue University the United States is responsible for the production of over 20 billion gallons of milk per year. This milk is either pasteurized and sold or further manufactured into other forms of dairy such as cream cheese or ice cream. Many Americans have an unrealistic dream of where their milk is produced; a grassy farm where the cows are able to roam freely and be milked by hand. However, this is not the reality in America. Today, most dairy farms use machinery to milk their cows and often leave them in cramped spaces. In order to increase the amount of milk a cow produces, farmers have started to treat their cows with bovine growth hormone. Because of this practice many arguments have come up to stop the use of Bovine Growth Hormone injections in cows. This is due to the alleged side effects this milk is said to produce; for example cancer or antibiotic insensitivity. This leaves anyone who drinks milk is potentially susceptible to these effects. The FDA gives details of the biology of Bovine Growth Hormone. Bovine Growth Hormone is naturally found in all animals, including humans, and enhances growth, development and health maintenance. It was discovered that by injecting cows with the hormone, found in the pituitary gland, then their milk production would increase. In the 1980 s it became possible to mass produce the hormone. Therefore, companies would be able to gain insights into how the brand is perceived in the targeted customers minds. Benefits of Social Media To start with, social media channels greatly amplify the effect of word of mouth (WOM) marketing. Unlike traditional advertising campaigns, WOM communications are generated purely based on the customer experiences as opposed to being paid to promote a particular brand. Therefore, when it comes to make purchase decisions on an unfamiliar brand, the suggestions by a close friend who is likely to share the same interests become a reliable and convincing source of reference (Cheema and Kaikati, 2010). Some thought that maybe he was a god himself and that made everything in Egypt belong to him. They later began to believe that everyone, including animals, had an afterlife. Egyptians trusted that when a person died Anubis would weigh your soul compared with a feather. This process would tell whether a person lied, murdered, or been too self involved. If the person s soul was heavier than the feathers with bad deeds, that person would be punished. The heart was thrown to a horrible monster called the Eater of the Dead. Actually, the Romans appropriated a lot from the Hellenistic architecture she came to be in contact with and under the Greek influences. They took form the Greeks three orders of architecture, Doric, Ionic, Corinthian to which was added a hybrid called composite. Concrete and arch were both very important in the survival of Rome as great empire, since they were considerably proficiently used in her architecture and construction of public buildings, walls, bridges and aqueducts. This paper discusses the topic of whether the Matrix film is more like Descartes evil deceiver or otherwise like the Berkeley s God by analyzing the philosophy with regards to the Matrix film. The Matrix is a 1999 film that is significantly founded on the question of what is reality and Berkeley and Descartes, on the other hand, perceived the world as having two different versions of the truth. This paper will thus discuss the philosophy of Descartes and Berkeley concerning the concept of reality and then provide supporting evidence how the Matrix film is a reflection of their ideas. The Matrix film describes a world in which the reality that is perceived by humans. The Matrix which is a reality that is established by malevolent machines. The machines then overcome and appease the humans so that the devices can get a source of energy from their electrical activity and bodies heat (Schmerheim, 2015). By analyzing the word marks in the context of the poem, I want to demonstrate the absolute necessity of that one word in this particular poem. The woman s life is graded with marks. A mark, meaning grade, is usually something that has nothing to do with a housewife or a mother. However, in this poem marks play a vital role in the speaker s identity. Her family gives her grades as a housewife and a mother. The word marks compares and contrasts her life with standards that are not her own. Grades are a part of the woman s life, for she is identified through them. Marks are the result of accomplishing a certain standard (e.g. 80% is a B, 90% and above is an A, etc). Students strive to get good grades because good grades equals good student. Grades identify who you are. It doesn t matter how much time and effort you have spent only the result counts. In this poem, the woman s entire life is defined and evaluated with grades: for her husband she is an A, an incomplete, and a B+; for her son she is average; for her daughter she is a Pass. The protein product interacts with a metal that is reversibly bound to an immobilized chelating group. The immobolized chelating group acts as a Lewis base (electron pair donor) to which the Lewis acid (electron pair acceptor) metal ion is coordinated. The support to which the metal ion binds is called a ligand. When an electron donor group is replaced by another, the action is referred to as ligand exchange. The donor atoms involved in this exchange are the electronegative nitrogen, sulfur, or oxygen. These atoms scavenge for sources of electrons. In this paper I will refer to the immobilized Lewis base as the ligand. The combination of the metal ion with the ligand will be referred to as the affinity ligand. IMAC can be performed employing ion exchange resins as the ligand, but in the separation of proteins only chelating groups have been used to fix the metal ion to the support. Schmuckler compared the binding energy of transition metal cations with ordinary cation exchangers and with chelating groups. He found the chelating groups binding energy to be 15 to 25 kcal/mol whereas the ordinary ion exchangers have a binding energy of 2 to 3 kcal/mol. (Nes, 1999) This characteristic has led to chelating groups as the ligand of choice in IMAC. The chelating groups used in IMAC are multidentate chelating compounds providing the strength of the complex formed by the protein, metal ion and chelating group. Free coordination sites in the metal ion must be present in the structure formed after the metal ion is chelated by the chelating group to allow for the adsorption or binding of solvent molecules or proteins. (Sulkowski, 1985) Differences in the number of free coordination sites plays a part in the selectivity of chelating substances for a target protein. It suggests that instead of using our energies to convince patients who might want to end their lives while terminally ill or suffering horribly, physicians need to reassess how they can help patients achieve their goals when the end is near. • 44. Consumerism And Consumerism Consumerism is deeply embedded in our culture and heavily influences our day to day behavior and interactions with others. Examples of consumerism include the fashion industry, our obsession with getting the newest technology, and why we purchase a certain type of car. The downside with our obsession of constant buying is that there are so many negative side effects that impact the environment, worker s lives (working conditions, low wages, poor living conditions) and our own relationships with our families, coworkers and friends. There is a lot of evidence of these side effects, and yet we keep buying into this cycle. We should know better, and yet it seems like it will be very hard to get us to change our habits. The works of Richard Wilkinson and Kate Pickett, Phillip Bauman, Julia Pugh in, and Pierre Bourdieu in attempt to explain why we continue to practice consumerist focused lifestyles. In The Spirit Level by Richard Wilkinson and Kate Pickett, their focus is on the relationship between consumerism and climate change. Pickett and Wilkinson state that the inequality between classes in society increases the cultural pressure to consume more and more, or to consume competitively. This is because we are afraid of looking like we are second class or less than we are, and are afraid of losing our place in society. In this way our obsessive buying habits have become a defense mechanism against falling out of our hard earned place. As the inequality grows and the distinctions between classes becomes ever clearer, we have to work harder in order to keep buying and consuming to stay on top. Because we are spending more, we are saving less and borrowing more, one statistic in the book states that, in 1998 even though the American economy was booming...one family in sixty eight had filed for bankruptcy. (p. 227). In this way consumerism becomes a vicious cycle that is incredibly hard to get out of because there are very few other options. This is all because of how social we are, and how important it is to fit in with those around us. In Liquid Life by Zygmunt Bauman, he explains our need for consumption because of the way society progresses in what he calls a liquid modern society. He describes liquid ...
