Children s Own Personal Interests
Furthermore, they are able to start exploring their own personal interests, and learn decision
making, when being exposed to a variety of resources. This, in turn, gives the adult great insight
into the child s developing personality, learning their likes, dislikes and other personal interests.
Story telling and other forms of dramatic play not only help develop a child s social skills, but also
their emotional ones. It is common for young children to often act out circumstances that they may
have witnessed in real life or perhaps on television. By role playing these situations, they are able to
begin to understand the world and make connections, by exploring the different emotions, such as

Colourful Cornflour Mark Making
The cornflour, water mixture allows infants to explore new and interesting textures, which may be
out of their comfort zone. It also permits the young child to explore their creative side, and make
their thinking visible. Having the cornflour on a large tray at a level close to the ground, allows the
infant to take full advantage of the activity, and promotes their communication with other peers, as
they are able to all gather round the tray together. The activity further helps develop confidence in
the child, as they become more self assured with the marks they are making in the mixture. This
helps support the development of mathematics and language. Cornflour
Cornflour would be more effective for this activity, because once added to water, creates a strange

Electronic Medical Record Essay
An electronic medical record [EMR] is a computerised record that maintains patients health related
data, which is available to be used and accessed, only by authorised personnel, in order to deliver
healthcare services within the health organisation (Hasanain, Vallmuur Clark, 2014, p. 1). From
patient record keeping to administrative reporting and clinical support tools, the extensive
functionality of an EMR solution has the potential to fundamentally transform how healthcare
services are provided by the hospital (Goo, Huang Koo, 2015). EMRs have been available
worldwide for some time and are implemented into hospitals because of the expected benefits such
as increased delivery of patient care, improved access to patient... Show more content on

Previous research on EMR implementation has identified that EMR implementation is most likely
to fail due to user rejection, so it is important to recognize the thoughts and beliefs that doctors,
nurses and other health professionals may have to be able to anticipate whether they will accept
or reject the new EMR (Goo et al., 2015). Clearly, EMR technology exists, but even with the best
technology success is not guaranteed. The challenge is the implementation, and understanding the
reluctance of change amongst users is critical for developing adoption strategies (Khalifa, 2013).
The complexity and usability of the system greatly impacts user acceptance. The more accurate
and timely that data can be entered into the system, the more beneficial the system will be (Struik
et al., 2014). If the system is poorly designed or if there is a lack of technical support and training,
clinical workflow may become more time consuming creating resistance from clinicians (Goo et

Hepatitis C (HCV), a single stranded RNA virus from the family Flaviviridae, now accounts for
more disease and death that does human immunodeficiency virus HIV/AIDS. Approximately 3
million individuals within the United States are currently suffering from what was once and

prevalent back in the 1970 s. It was commonly acquired via blood transfusion as well as through
hemodialysis methods of renal failure patients (Klevens et al., 2012). Today, the most common

The liver is involved in many functions of the body which are important for survival. It is the
main filtering organ of the body and is involved in processes such a synthesis of plasma proteins,
storage of glycogen for energy use as well as excretion, secretion and detoxification of products
such as bilirubin, alcohol, cholesterol and drugs. Since the liver is the only organ to rid
hemoglobin from the body, one of the most important functions it carries out is bilirubin
metabolism. The heme component of hemoglobin is first converted to bilirubin by set of enzymes.
It is then bound to albumin and transported to the liver hepatocytes where the enzyme uridyl
diphosphate glucoronyl transferase converts bilirubin into water soluble conjugated form so it can
be excreted into the intestines. If the hepatocytes within the liver are damage due to invasion of
HCV, bilirubin will not be able to be excreted thus resulting in the buildup of bile. When bile builds
up, the skin turn to a yellowish color called jaundice. This usually happens during the later stages of
hepatitis (Sunheimer Graves, 2011).
There are two phases of hepatitis C; acute and chronic. After exposure of HCV, 85 90% of both
types of hepatitis are usually asymptomatic but symptoms can occur during the acute phase
following a 2 12 week incubation period. In cases of acute hepatitis, symptoms consist of fatigue,

The Cave And Eatting Summary
The two stories in which we discuss today are The Cave and Eatting; both of them are related in
character, tone, and setting, (for the most part). The characters of the Stories, Sissy and Russell,
are in sharp contrast of each other. While both of them can be perceived as introverts, Russel is
much more... Well for the lack of better word, un disciplined and almost childlike in behavior.
For example in this scene in the Eatting, The mule looked as if had come to inspect something...
Russell handed him one end of a roll of toilet paper, which the mule took... and then walked away
carefully, gently, drawing the toilet paper out... There was really no reason for him to do this;
he just wanted to do for its own sake. Also in this story Russell is described as eating out a whole
restaurant of their eggs, and just being all around gluttonous. In contrast, Sissy is much more
reserved and in control of her desires often having to give in to Russell s demands, like in The Cave
where Russell wants sex every five seconds.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Cleopatra and Empress Wu Zetian
Cleopatra and Empress Wu Zetian were two very powerful women of their time. Cleopatra, Last
Pharaoh of Egypt. As queen of Egypt, Cleopatra is one of the most famous female rulers in
history. Cleopatra s family ruled Eygpt for more than 100 years before she was born around 69 BC.
Empress Wu Zetian of Tang Dynasty. She was one of the concubines of Emperor Taizong; she was

Cleopatra s father was King Ptolemy XII. Little is known about Cleopatra s mother, but some
speculation presumes she may have been her father s sister, Cleopatra V Tryphaena. Debate also
surrounds Cleopatra s ethnicity. While it was believed for a long time that she was of Greek
descent, some speculate that her lineage may have been black African.
In 51 B.C., Ptolemy XII died, leaving the throne to 18 year old Cleopatra and her brother, the 10
year old Ptolemy XIII. It is likely that the two siblings married, as was customary at the time. Over
the next few years Egypt struggled to face down a number of issues, from an unhealthy economy to
floods to famine.
Political turmoil also shaped this period. Soon after they assumed power, complications arose
between Cleopatra and Ptolemy XIII. Eventually Cleopatra fled to Syria, where she assembled
an army to defeat her rival in order to declare the throne for herself. In 48, she returned to Egypt
with her military might and faced her brother at Pelusium, located on the empire s eastern edge.
Most of what we know about Cleopatra was written after her death when it was politically
expedient to portray her as a threat to Rome and its stability. Thus, some of what we know about
Cleopatra may have been exaggerated or misrepresented by those sources. Cassius Dio, one of the
ancient sources that tells her story, summarizes her story as She captivated the two greatest Romans
of her day, and

Plato s Views On Democracy
In The Republic of Plato, Plato, in addition to sharing his views on justice, shares his views on
democracy using a fictionalized Socrates to outline the most pressing issues. Plato s views on
democracy are negative; he believes democracy to be bred from a response to inequality of wealth
and to heighten all of humanities worst traits. Platobelieves democracyleads to unequipped leaders
who hold offices and power without the necessary traits and preparation.
The main issue Plato has with democracy, as outlined in The Republicof Plato, is democracy has a
uniquely level playing field for all and that this leads to people working toward endeavors that
do not suit their best abilities, which goes against Plato s own image of justice as Plato s image
holds to the idea that justice is primarily found in the community more so than the individual and
that it is realized on an individual and societal level when people help to advance society by
working toward endeavors that best suit their natural abilities (55). This democratic equality, the
author feels, leads to those who are unequipped and unprepared to rule leading the masses. For
example, Plato utilizes the metaphor of the ship to show this issue of democracy, that many of the
crew, though not equipped to lead, will try to steer to steer the ship and that the struggle will
eventually lead the crew to wreck the ship (195 196).
Plato also associates democracy with tyranny, noting that when freedom is taken to an extreme it

Religion In Beowulf
Beowulf: A Christian Book
Beowulf, a poem written around the 10th to 11th century, is a very detailed poem describing
some of the actions a character by the name of Beowulf does. It takes place in Anglo Saxon time
(British Library, n.d., p. 1). Throughout the first episode, characters are very boastful and like to
roast each other as well. This poem later gets pretty violent and gruesome. However, many people
think Beowulf is a Christian poem. Others say it isn t. Beowulf is a Christian poem and not a
pagan one for many reasons. These include that God is talked a lot about throughout the whole
poem, even that pagan parts to this book have a different meaning than what is said, and Beowulf is
made after Jesus Christ. First off, throughout ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, throughout the first episode, people are being terrorized by Grendel. Beowulf comes
along and slays the beast to save all the people, acting as a savior to all these needy folks. He barely
knew these Danish people yet he came and saved their lives. The Danes thought of him as their
savior sent to them by God. He came out of nowhere and saved their lives. He put himself in harm
s way to protect the group of people he barely knew. Jesus did that in His life by saving all of us
(Matthew 18). He came and defeated the beast which was death and rose again on the third day.
Though Beowulf didn t die and come back to life, he did do some very Christ like actions as a man.
He saves lives just as Jesus did. Now, Jesus Christ was long dead by the time this poem was written.
However, if this book was a pagan book, how could the Anglo Saxonseven find ways to compare
Beowulf to Jesus Christ. They wouldn t even know who he is. The author of this book knew who
Jesus was and based his main character after Him. Who could be a better main character than a
man who resembles Jesus Christ? Really nothing can beat that. The author of the poem had a
genius thought when writing it by letting Beowulf be like Jesus. This proves again that Beowulf is
a Christian book and no a pagan

The Relationship between Customer Satisfaction and Brand Loyalty
Abstract
This study attempts to examine the impact of customer service (retail service quality and product
quality) on brand loyalty. It focuses on the particular aspects of customer service: personal
interaction, policy, reliability, and problem solving. Data will be collected through an in person
survey and an on line survey immediately following the purchase or visit to the store or website.
Another survey will be administered shortly after the customer obtains the product and has a
chance to experience it. By contributing to the overall knowledge of customer service and brand
loyalty, this research adds significant, valuable information on marketing to customers in ... Show

The two types of investigation that would be needed is a field study interviewing customers
immediately after their visit to a retail establishment and an on line survey after the computer
user visited the website. In both surveys, questions regarding customer service will be asked.
They would inquire as to the details that pertained to their specific opinion of that day s retail
service quality. The service quality could be questioned immediately after the persons shopping
experience; whether in person as they exited the store or on line, which should help with their
ease of recall. Questions would pertain to reliability, problem solving, and their personal
interaction, as well as the store policies. Personal interaction would be determined by using a
graded scale of the customer s perception of their attitude, problem solving, and overall care by the
sales professional.
For the on line shopper, the questionnaire would differ. It would ask the customer to grade the
ease of the transaction and the ability to maneuver throughout the website. The software would be
graded instead of a sales person. Policy would be determined by inquiring about attitudes of the
consumer of in store or on line payment methods, order timing and shipping methods, and the
handling of special orders. In both types of surveys, questions would be asked pertaining to their
brand loyalty in the past. The same graded scale would be used in

Accredited programme requirements were created from the Criminal Justice Act 2003 but in order
to understand how this came to be it is significant that the history and political context of the
probation service is understood.
The Probation of Offenders Act was established in 1907 and under this act the release if offenders
into the community under the control of probation officers were made official. The primary aim of
the probation was made clear under this act which was to advise, assist and befriend and it
continued that way until 1970 s. During this period it transformed into an agency concerned with
casework, diagnosis, and rehabilitation rather than the influence of personal character,
psychological understandings of human ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, research carried out in the 1990 s as part of what works movement identified that the
most successful sentences were those that attempted to change, not only the offender s behaviour
but also their attitude towards their offending (Hollin, 2007). This catalysed the push towards
cognitive behavioural approaches and by 1999 one especially important development was the
establishment of the Correctional Services Accreditation Panel, which quality assured probation
and prison programmes for rehabilitating offending. This technique brought an emphasis of
individual responsibility of an offender (Mair,2004). A criticism of this was the lack of attention of
sociological factors that can influence criminal behaviour.
Responsibility of offenders can be considered to have arose as part of the Just Deserts in which is
fundamental to it rational in two ways. First, the need to sentence individuals for the crime
committed rather than sociological or behavioural issue that may have been a factor in the offender
committing the crime. Secondly, under the concept of proportionality in which the sentence is
proportionate to the crime. At this point a very subtle difference in sentencing had an impact on the
way probation was viewed because non custodial sentences became recognised as an alternative to
prison rather than an alternative to punishment (Worrall, 2006). Thus, probation was regarded as a
punishment in its own right which is

The Documentary Child Of Rage
The documentary, Child of Rage (HBO Monet, 1990), is sad and disturbing. According to the
American Psychiatric Association (APA, 2013), the child meets much of the criteria for
conduct disorder. The child was shown to frequently bully, threaten, intimidate, use pins on
people and animals with the intention to harm, was physically cruel to people and animals, stole
and hid knives, sexually molested her little brother and stated she wanted to kill her parents and
brother which are many of criterion A set forth in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual 5 (APA,
2013). She did not seem to be remorseful or feel guilty at the beginning of the HBO Monet
(1990) documentary but did express remorse as evidenced crying at the end. While she was
talking with the interviewer she seemed to exhibit a lack of empathy and did not show emotion
and would most likely have a specifier of childhood onset with limited prosocial emotions and is
severe (APA, 2013). I felt it was remarkable the therapy she received did so much for her and
literally saved her life.
Reactive attachment disorder is described (Kress Paylo, 2014) as a disorder in which the child
received extreme neglect by the primary caregiver and as a result does not form emotional bonds
with others. Recent studies, state Kress Paylo (2014), show that all children in order to develop
emotional bonding with others need their basic physical and emotional requirements met. This was
also the case with the little girl in the HBO

Low Cost Airlines Essay

fare price is one of the main thing passengers/ fliers consider when looking to fly, therefore for
most, low budget airlines are their first option. Passengers are willing to give up their comfort and
other in flight services such as entertainment and during their journey for low ticket prices.
However, over the past few decades, operating long haul flights was not to the advantage of these
budget airlines. The cost of fuel made it for the most part, took up a huge proportion of the costs
needed to manage/operate these flights.According to The Economist article, Oasis airline went into
liquidation a year after they had started flying from London to Vancouver at low cut prices in
2008. Regardless of their flop, some other airline companies including Air Asia are giving the no
frills model a try. Scoot Airlines for instance offer cut price tickets for six hour flights between
Singapore and Tianjin; this is not a definite medium or long haul flight.Time zones / time
difference is one of the challenges these low budget airlines faced in flying long distances. Some
airports have night curfews which makes it hard / impossible for the planes to turnaround the
same day. This leads to an increase in their operation cost, because they would have to be
responsible for lodging and feeding their crew. This is another reason why these low budget
airlines adapt the free

The Role Of Judas In The Holy Bible
The biblical narrative derived for this composition origins from the gospel writings according to
St. Luke in The Holy Bible. Within his writings, Luke recounts the Passover, Christ s warning of
the betrayal, and the night of the betrayal. On the night of the betrayal, he recounts Christ waking
the sleeping disciples, Judas amongst them, explaining him rising to bestow a kiss onto Christ. St.
Luke states: And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the
twelve, went before them, and drew near to Jesusto kiss him (Luke 21:47). Giotto s fresco directly
becomes influenced from this scene, and becomes the point of action he creates within his
biblical narrative fresco. His composition marks the beginning of the chaos that clouds Christ s
arrest; illustrating the powerful confrontation Christ and Judas are compelled into. While Christ
is depicted unwavering in his pose and expression, Judas is rendered in a furious facial
expression and stance. His face is inflated more so than Christ s, illustrating the swelling of
corruption beneath his physical features. He appears almost to gaze hatefully towards Christ, as
his eyebrows become fused tightly together and appear to create a tension within his form. He
pose is similar to an animalistic stance; he has one hand on Christ s shoulder to draw him in
nearer, while enclosing his long yellow cloak around his figure to envelop him within this grasp.
By Judas expression and stance, Giotto depicts

The concept of how to encourage all students to gain fully from the education system has always
been a personal philosophy of mine and since gaining at least a C grade in maths has become a
given, for most employment and further education, I wanted to research how mentoring
intervention could assist in this goal.
Mentoring
Mentoring is an initiative that has been found effective and transferable from business to education
(Wallace, Montgomery and Pomerantz, 2010), indeed Linney (1999) suggested that mentoring is a
very popular tool in various contexts and fields. In the field of education, Daloz (1987) felt that
teachers and mentors played a vital role in allowing students to gain confidence, insight and passion
to progress in their academic lives.
In the United Kingdom mentoring for young people in education has increased significantly since
the early 1990 s (Rose and Doveston, 2008) this in turn has possibly led policy makers to adopt
this educational tool as an intervention with socially excluded young people in schools (Colley,
2003).
The term mentor has Greek origins where Odysseus left a trusted friend, Mentor, to give advice and
support to his son, Telemachus, whilst he went

They show customers and employees what our business stands for, and often inspire our teams
at other businesses to try new challenges. Another way Branson keeps employees engaged is by
inviting them to take part in company events, like the Virgin Mobile Live Free fest, a free music
festival held every year to raise money (through donations) for homeless young people. Along
with giving employees a chance to give something back to the community, the festival allows an
opportunity to say thank you to customers and staff by providing them with the chance to enjoy
themselves for free. The sense of fun unites the businesses reminds employees of what the
company stands for. In some ways it s easier for a large organization like Virgin to embark on
such projects, but with a little inventiveness and resourceful thinking, other business owners might
come up with shot in the arm schemes of their own (Entrepreneur, 2012). Maintaining a focused

Tim O’Brien s Going After Cacciato Essay
Going After Cacciato, an epic novel written by Tim O Brien, is about a platoon of men going
away without leave (AWOL) searching for a young man named Cacciato in the imagination of a
man of the platoon named Paul Berlin. In Going After Cacciato the tea party, between the AWOL
platoon and Li Van Hgoc contributes greatly to the novel by adding to the confusion and teaching
the reader how to deal with the war and the noise.
The first thing that this tea party does is that it introduces the reader to Li Van Hgoc. The response
of Paul Berlin to Li Van Hgoc and his party was a fallingfeeling, a slipping, and . . . being high in
the tower by the sea. This sets the novel as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through meeting Li Van Hgoc the reader learns the true enemy in the novel. According to Li Van
Hgoc, The land is your true enemy. He mentions that the soldier is the representative of the land
and the land is also fighting a battle. Through listening to Li Van Hgoc at the tea party the platoon
realizes the land actually is the enemy and notices the natural defenses: the tunnels, dangerous trails,
the land mines, the hedges and paddies, and the jungle itself. The platoon thought that their enemy
were the Vietcong, but they began to come to the realization that the Vietcong used the land; what
they were protecting, why they were fighting, how they were fighting, to destroy foreign troops sent
there. Li Van Hgoc telling the platoon of Xa, meaning community, soil, home, that a man s spirit is
in the land, where his ancestors rest and where the rice grows, helped show that the land was the
true enemy.
Also through Li Van Hgoc the reader learns one of the most important lessons of the novel, to Look
closer. Concentrate. Going After Cacciato is a confusing mess filled with noise in the background,
foreground, and whatever middle ground there may be. The reader of this novel must read between
the lines to understand. They must Look closer.

Frankenstein Monster Monologue
I am, to date, the only known survivor. Trust me, I ve been looking for this thing for a very long
time. It preys on anyone; age, gender, sexuality. None of that matters. So far, there has been no
way to connect the victims. Hell, not even blood types are a factor. That was the first thing I
ruled out. Seems complicated doesn t it? It really wasn t. My friend was a target too, his blood
type was A, while mine was B. But anyway, back to this thing that attacked me. If you could even

Sugar and Its Effect on Our Bodies
Many foods and drinks around the world are laced with sugar and the sugar levels are indicated.
Sugar is added to not only sweeten things, but to also improve the texture. Sugar is to some extent
used as a preservative as well, for example, when added to cut up fresh berries, the berries remain
fresher for longer than one without sugar. Processed foods are likely to have higher sugar levels
than home cooked foods since adding sugar is a modest way adding volume and weight. Sugar also
aids in making inferior foods pleasant. Unfortunately for consumers, sugar escalates calories while
having no nutritional value to the consumer.
Effects of Sugar on our Bodies
Sugar comes in various forms and not just the white powder beet sugar we are used to. It comes
in the form of corn syrup, maple syrup and honey, and affects the body negatively in equal
measure. For example, excess sugar has adverse effects on metabolism and may lead to all
manner of diseases. Below I will discuss the top disturbing effects of added sugar and why people
should avoid or at least control their sugar intake.
пѓ Added sugar has no nutritional value to the body and is bad for the teeth. I am sure you have
heard this on numerous occasions, but it is worth reminding you. Added sugars such as fructose
corn syrup and sucrose contain high amounts of calories and zero essential nutrients. For this fact,
they are stereotyped as empty calories. When people consume 10 20% of calories as sugar, this
causes a problem,

Effects of Plyometric Exercises on Power Production
Introduction In a number of sports, the ability to produce a high muscular power output is
required. Power is critical for the performance of sports that require quick changes in directions,
jumping, and sprinting.1 To increase power production a number of plyometric exercises and
programs can be performed. The theory of specificity plays a large role in deciding what
plyometric exercises should be performed to improve power output.2 The theory states that the
exercises should replicate the movement as closely as possible for the best results.1,3 Plyometrics
are used to increase muscular power output and is accomplished by training the muscles to do
more work in a shorter amount of time.1,4 The purpose of this report is to review the literature on
the effects of plyometric exercises on power production.
Mechanical Model of Polymeric Exercise The mechanical model has three critical components to
explain how force production occurs in skeletal muscle. The three components of the mechanical
model (Figure 1.) are the contractile component (CC), the parallel elastic component (PEC) and the
series elastic component (SEC).5,6 The (CC) are made up of actin, myosin, and cross bridges that
produce the primary force during a muscle contraction.6,7 The PEC is made up of the epimysium,
perimysium, endomysium and the muscle fiber.6,8,9 This formation of connective tissue exerts a
passive resistive force when stretched. The SEC is the elastic component that store and release the

Comparing Thomas Hobbes And John Locke Laws Of Nature
The Laws of Nature
Both Hobbes and Locke come up with their own versions of the laws of nature. A law of nature
is a general rule that is come to by reason and common sense. Unlike a civil law, the laws of
nature don t have to be written down. These laws are just put into place by basic human reason.
The laws of nature are thought of when talking about the state of nature. Both Hobbes and Locke
discuss the state of nature, but see it in different ways, resulting in different laws of nature per the
two philosophers.
Hobbes sees the state of nature as a horrible place where fear rules every person living inside of
it. In his book Leviathan , he concluded that men must seek peace to preserve their own life.
Because of this Hobbes says that the first law of nature is, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This mutual transferring of rights is called a contract and becomes the basis for moral obligation
per Hobbes. The third law of nature states that we can to just make contracts but must hold to every
one of our contracts
(Hobbes, 324). This law of nature leads to the foundation of the concept of justice . Hobbes
accounts of the laws of nature affect his overall political philosophy by making him see the state of
nature as an unforgiving place of war and that men should do everything possible to escape it.
He believed that even when under a government that is corrupt and oppressive, would be better that
being under no government at all and being in the state of nature.
In the Second Treatise of Civil Rights , Locke sees the state of nature as a place of equality, where
no one has power over the other and all can do whatever it is that they want.
However, this liberty still does not give someone the right to do harm on to another (Locke, 365).
He determines from this statement that natural law exist in the state of nature. He says that each
person in the state of nature has the power to follow through with natural laws which are

Institutions such as schools, community groups, sporting clubs, and religious groups are able
to help shape positive attitudes to sport and physical activity athletes (Hede et al, 2010, pg. 300).
An additional reason as to why I have not danced except for in school arranged programs is due
to the lack of facilities and know ballroom dance studio within the Redlands. This is evident as
unlike Tennis where there is five Tennis Centre s within the Redlands there is only two
ballroom dance studios. Due to my failure to succeed in dance this affected my self esteem need
and made it hard to enjoy it. Participating in dance was also made difficult to partake in at school,
as Carmel only has one classroom with the suitable wooden floor and numerous classes needing
to use it makes it inequitable. Trips to a local studio were needed where we were able to have
the use of professional dance teachers making it advantageous. Having the professional advice
and help made it easier to choreographed our own dance routine. Carmel is also a school that
does not succeed highly in dance and therefore does not invest as much time and money into
dance compared to other sports like Touch, Rugby 7 s or Netball. Analyses of an ABS statistic
shows that the most popular sport for males was outdoor soccer, with 309,700 participants and a
participation rate of 22%.

Transition to a Professional Role Jennifer Quijano Florida International University January 26, 2013
Transition to a Professional Role Introduction Nurses who have prepared to assume advanced
nursing roles can contribute to the healthcare system through new ideas and insights in education,
administration, research, and practice. During the process of further education nurses are exposed
to professional socialization, which addresses values, norms and ways of viewing situations that are
unique to the profession. This process will later provide the common ground that shapes the way
work is conducted. Such process, forces nurses to go through different models of transition that will

The neutral zone of Bridges model and stage 5 of Spencer and Adams include the establishment
of new skills and behaviors associated with the change. The individual feels optimistic and a sense
of comfort with the change. In the last stages of both models, the individual experiencing change
internalizes the new role behaviors and feels satisfied. Nursing has dramatically evolved in recent
history in response to the changes in society, the healthcare system as well as to the evolution of
the profession itself. Changes include: an aging and more diverse population, changing
reimbursement practices, new technology and scientific discoveries, new diseases related to social
and environmental problems. Changes in nursing roles represent a shift in the view of nursing
from simply an occupation or job to a profession with a commitment to the role (Blais amp; Hayes,
2011). Changes in the healthcare system affect society s expectation of nursing care. Due to these
high expectations, nurses are returning to school in order to satisfy these prospects and are more
effective in their roles. Prospective nursing students and registered nurses that are returning to
school are undergoing many of the challenges described in these two models of transition. I

Analyzing James Miller s Acting Our Culture
A picture says a thousand words. In Acting Our Culture , a book edited by James miller, we get this
representation clearly from Norman Rockwell and John Holyfield in their Thanksgiving visual
representation paintings. Both artist provide us with their own interpretation and view of the
thanksgiving holiday depicting in both what they believe the holiday season is about. 3 main
themes in these pieces are family, color, and culture the rootof both paintings, this being what ties
as well as separates them as works of art.
The first thing you will notice between the paintings are the family s presented. The presence of
their relation is evident due to a few factors. In Rockwell we get the differences in age from the
little kids present at the table to the middle aged couple on the left side of the photo (Rockwell),
then in Holyfield s we get the same view of age difference across the table representing the
occasion to be a gathering of family. They also share the same main meal that being the turkey
also with vegetables and other side plates. But once we look closer at the family a deeper level of
contrast is revealed. If you pay close attention to the painting the scene of family changes between

Marfan Syndrome Pros And Cons
Marfan syndrome (MFS) is an autosomal dominant disease of the connective tissue, affecting
mostly the skeletal, ocular and cardiovascular systems, caused by mutations in the FBN1 gene.
(Fernandes et al 2016) It was first described just about 100 years ago and was one of the first
conditions classified as a heritable disorder of the connective tissue. MFS lies at one end of a
phenotypic spectrum, with people in the general population who have one or another of the
features of MFS at the other end, and those with a variety of other conditions in between. (Pyeritz
2000) One in four cases of MFS occur through due to a random mutation the rest are inherited.
(Lima et al 2010) Marfan syndromeaffects anywhere from 1 2/10,000 individuals and has a large
amount of variation in its symptoms and severity. The incredible variability of Marfan
syndrome and the lack of identifiable phenotype genotype correlations point to the occurrence of
modifier genes. (Fernandes et al 2016) According to Groth et al. the prevalence of MFS could
increase because during their 38 year study they saw a clear rise in prevalence. The age of
diagnosis for MFS can range throughout an entire lifetime however the median age of diagnosis is

Eventually it appeared the priests began lighting candles and pouring milk over Vishnu and

China s decision to devalue its currency in quick succession during the second week of August
caused headlines around the globe. The decision sent shockwaves, with the effects still unravelling
today. Tourismis among the industries feeling the heat. Will the weaker yuan mean the boom in
China s outbound tourism is over?
China s outbound tourism is on a strong footing. Over 100 million Chinese people made a trip
abroad last year. Data by the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) Chinese tourists increased
their spending by 27% to reach $165 million in 2014.
Much of the shopping spree and travel has been driven by the strength of the Chinese currency and
the increase in Chinese wealth. In Europe, the yuan had strengthened 15% against the euro since
the start of 2014. Now, some of this strength is gone. But is it enough to trouble outbound tourism?
Trouble for some
China s downward move to devalue was the biggest since the mass devaluation in 1994 and
together with the economic slowdown caused concern across many industries. The decision to
devalue the currency by 4% could mean long term wobble in the exchange rates, which could mean
trouble for tourists.

Medically stable patients who are 65 years and over were included in the study. Participants with

Overcoming Communication Barriers between Genders Essay
Roles of men and women
Of the many changes which have taken place in American society since World War II, one of the
greatest has been in the roles of men and women. Members of both genders have lived multiple
roles in the past, but these were generally established ones, such as men being the wage earners and
women the caregivers.
Communication followed largely defined cultural and societal norms. Usually, nuances in speech
and in body language could readily be interpreted. As Archie Bunkernostalgically sang in television
s quot; All in the Family, quot; quot;... and you knew who you were then; girls were girls and men
were men. quot;
Many of the roles have remained the same, but now they frequently are carried out by members ...

From childhood, many women are taught to smile and be pleasant to others. Smiles of good will,
interest, and encouragement by either men or women, however, can be interpreted as agreement
with what is being said. In conversation, it is necessary to be direct and honest as well, especially
when a smile does not signify agreement or approval.
Men often talk at women, not with them. One chaplain assistant NCOIC made a habit of
periodically bringing all members of the staff who were interested into a general conversation at a
convenient location in the office. Early in the morning, at random intervals, he introduced a
question or comment on a current event or another objective topic on which anyone would be able
to contribute information or an opinion. As the men and women of the staff shared the
conversation, they grew to know and respect each other and their backgrounds. They were more
ready to offer their information and insights on work related topics, and close teamwork throughout
the staff developed.
A senior chaplain encouraged teamwork in his staff through frequent roundtable discussions of
assigned projects. This practice also ensured capturing the information and expertise possessed by
staff members other than the one who had the responsibility for the action.

Maritime Compass Llc Essay
1.How much is the Bet Performer worth based on comparable transactions? What ship is the
best reference transaction? (the closest comparable)? Comparable transaction is a conventional
method of evaluating the value of something that is ready for sale. To value a ship, one had to
identify a set of comparable ships where comparability was based on four main factors: ship
type, size (DWT), age, and condition. The Bet Performer was a 11 year old ship, built in 1997,
172,000 DWT capsize bulk carrier. From the Exhibit 4, there are five ships which are the most
comparable to Bet Performer. They are Martha Verity, Ingenious, Sumihou, Cape Sun, and
Coppersmith. These ships all have the most similar characteristics, in terms of ship type,... Show

This is logical because, larger the ships, more load could they carry, and thus make higher
profits, so are priced higher. Relationship between Age and Ship Price: From the regression, we
find that as the ship ages by one year, the price of the ship drops by $ 4.54 mln. This makes sense
because as with any other vehicle or asset, the efficiency of the ship drops with age. As it gets
older, the carrying value of the ship lowers due to depreciation. Relationship between Charter
rates and Ship Price: With one point increase in the Capesize ship index, there is a slight increase
in the price of the ship by $0.007 mln. The Capesize ships took like a year to build, and are good
for 25 years, after which they are demolished and sold for scrap. The economics of this ship
breaking differed by ship size and type category. So higher this index, higher is the price of the
ship. b.Can you think of other factors that might predict ship prices? Apart from the 4 factors ship
type, DWT, ship age and gears, there are a couple of other factors which affect the ship price.
They are Type of main engine, Confirmed time charter contracts with creditworthy counter parties
Loading equipment (cranes and derricks) Shipyard (original builder) Location (where the ship was
at the time of sale) All these affected the price of the ship, and hence can be used to

Summary of the Article
Literature Review The age of language acquisition can be an important indicator of positive
prognosis and social functioning in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Children with
ASD have impairments in social communication and interaction, and a comprehensive
communication assessment is a core component of diagnosing and evaluation. Assessments are
used to utilize measures that capture each child s communication ability and there is extensive
literature available detailing the language deficits of children with ASD. However, first acquired
language in different age ranges were probed with children with ASD to find the relationship to
cognitive abilities and adaptive skills (Mayo, Chlebowski, Fein, and Eigsti, 2013).
Methods Section A total of 119 children took part in Mayo, Chelbowski, Fein, and Eigsti s (2013)
study, 75 children (63%) with Autistic Disorder (AD), and 44 (37%) children with Pervasive
Developmental Disorder, Not Otherwise Specified (PDD NOS). The participants were primarily
male (83.2%) and White (82.4%), and ranged from 45 to 72 months of age at the time of
evaluation (Mayo, Chlebowski, Fein, and Eigsti, 2013). An ASD screening study was conducted by
using the Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers (M CHAT), an autism specific screening tool
that uses parent reports. Children between 16 and 30 months of age were screened using M CHAT.

The Walt Disney Effect
Thousands of books, documentaries, and television series about Disneyland have flooded the
market since its opening and have provided evidence that would suggest the Disney Company to
have created not only the first, but the most successful theme park in history. Walt Disney created a
niche in what was a dying industry leading to Disneyland s success that is still observed today as
the most popular and most recognizable park in the park entertainment industry. Although
Disneyland was not the first amusement park, Walt Disneydid perfect the idea of an amusement
park and give birth to the first ever theme park which blossomed into the theme park industry. The
influence Disneyland commands as the first theme park has impacted American pop culture,
society, economics, marketing, entertainment and tourism by creating what has been called the
Disney effect . This Disney effect has been argued between historians, economist, and psychologists
since Disneyland s opening in 1955.
How could one park cause such a drastic effect across a significant number of subjects? What
made it different from other amusement parks to provide such success that was never before
seen? By exploring and analyzing work from Disney historians like Michael Barrier, Steven Watts,
Alan Bryman they provide Disney s historical insight which can be further analyzed and broken

Compound Bow History
Archery has been around for the majority of documented human history and has gradually changed
over the centuries. However, in the recent years a new type of bow has been created, the compound
bow. The introduction of the compound bow revolutionized the archery system, allowing for faster
and stronger shooting as well as increased range, all allowing for hunters to better hit their targets.
Before the compound bow, there were wooden bows and the most common one used for hunting
was the Longbow. These bows were about 72 inches in length and could be made out of various
types of wood to give it different properties. It could usually be pulled back around 30 inches and
it had a poundage of 150, which means it is very difficult to shoot. In the article Medieval versus

This was a problem because archers had to be able to aim and release their arrows quickly which
meant it was hard to get good accuracy and consistency while shooting unless there was repeated
practice. That was when in the 1960s Holless W. Allen created the first compound bow. The
compound bow has a leveling system that uses cables and pulleys to bend the limbs, these
pulleys and cables were [called cams] placed on both sides of the bow, (Facts About). This
system allows for more energy to be stored in the limbs, this also allows for the arrow to be shot
faster than with other types of bows. The cams on the bow also allow for less recoil and vibrations
in the bow limbs which increases the accuracy of the archer. Compound bows are smaller and

Fallacy Of Jonah
It is difficult to pinpoint the dating for the composition of Jonah. Even attempts to locate the book
within the pre exilic, exilic or postexilic period by various scholars have proven to be futile. With
the exception of placing the writing between the eight century and third century BCE, none of the
commentaries under review answers the question of when the book was written. Therefore, neither
will we speculate on this topic. There seem to be no known method that has conclusively proven
when Jonah was written.

Questions On The Cavity Wall Insulation
Cavity Wall Insulation could be a remedy for the energy poverty undergone by many homes in
Ireland. Available statistics show over 60,000 low income and 160,000 other homes suffer from
energy poverty. This invariably affects their health, indoor comforts while causing huge wastage of
limited earnings. Insulation In general and cavity wallinsulation in particular will help you if you
are one of the above house holders.
SEAI offers special grants for up to Euro 400 to meet your home improvements by cavity wall
insulation. The installations have to be carried out by qualified installers as special tools are
required to carry this out. Under no circumstance this is a DIY job even for a person good with
their hands.
Cavity walls
A cavity wall can be a construction of two walls with an air gap in between or a wall constructed
of hollow blocks. The air gap in this manner should be continuous for any effective cavity wall
insulation to be carried out.
How are the Cavity walls insulated?
The cavity wall insulation is applied in several ways depending on the type and construction of
wall, type of insulation selected etc. What ever the material selected the idea is to cut off heat
transfer by cutting off the heat transfer primarily, by conduction (ie. by physical contact) and
convection (ie. by the movement of hot air (molecules) due to air currents). Naturally unless there
is a continuous cavity this process has limited detrimental affect as the heat by air movement is

Analysis Of How Bingeing Became The New College Sport By...
Barrett Seaman, in How Bingeing Became the New College Sport , argues that binge drinking
amongst college students would decrease if the legal drinking age was brought down to 18 or 19,
instead of 21. The author explains what Pregaming is, along with the consequences that had come
forth from college students consuming too much alcohol. Seaman talks about how the drinking law
was put into place by Congress all thanks to Mothers Against Drunk Driving. In the beginning of the
article Barrett Seaman states what pregaming actually is, It usually involves sitting in a dorm room
or an off campus apartment and drinking as much hard liquor as possible before heading out for the
evening s parties. (Paragraph 2 sentence 3). The author then continues the article with the
consequences that come from Pregaming . Seaman states the following;... Show more content on

should be lowered. In my opinion the law should not be changed to a lower age but a higher one.
The reasoning behind this is that if we raise the legal drinking age to 25 or 26 let s say, then it
would be harder for the younger college students to approach someone out of college to buy them

Nuclear Radiation Research Paper
Discuss medical applications of nuclear radiation and their effects on society. Explain briefly how
the applications work. Include some of the scientists involved in their discovery and development.
Simply put radiation is energy or particles flying through space. Radiation comes in three forms
Alpha, Beta and Gamma radiation, all three types have vastly different applications and levels of
strength. The most common type of electromagnetic radiation used in the medical is known as
ionising radiation, that form of radiation is far more powerful than non ionising radiation because
it cannot break molecular bonds or ionise atoms. Nuclear radiation can both be exceptionally useful
and ridiculously dangerous if the proper measures are not put in place. Radiation is used most

Nuclear medicine is a specific branch of medicine that uses tiny amounts of radiation to measure
the severity or even treat many different disorders and diseases like heart disease, gastrointestinal

identifying molecular irregularities in the body allowing for the doctors to treat the illness
before it progresses to an irreparable or fatal stage. Nuclear medical procedures are non invasive
and, in much of the cases, painless. There is a range of types of nuclear medical exams where a

colors of all other types of tunas, is so named for its golden yellow stripe on the fish s upper
sides, along with its bright yellow fins. Some of the largest yellowfin tuna, weighing more than
200 pounds, can be found here in the waters of Pedasi. As for bait, sardines and anchovies work
effectively for smaller fish, while Pacific mackerel are more suited for the larger ones. Yellowfin
tunas also eat squid. If you don t have any live bait, try a method called chunking: in which you
cut off chunks of large fish bait and then toss it in the water. Just remember that tuna don t nibble.
Just as bigeye tunas, yellowfin tunas are difficult to pull. Once they get close to your boat, they
tend to flip sideways, swimming in big circles, so that it can take a long time to pull them into
your boat. It s actually better to aim for smaller fish as the bigger ones require more energy to
capture.

This, in turn, gives the adult great insight into the child s developing personality, learning their likes, dislikes and other personal interests. Story telling and other forms of dramatic play not only help develop a child s social skills, but also their emotional ones. It is common for young children to often act out circumstances that they may have witnessed in real life or perhaps on television. By role playing these situations, they are able to begin to understand the world and make connections, by exploring the different emotions, such as sympathy, and empathy through someone else s... It also permits the young child to explore their creative side, and make their thinking visible. Having the cornflour on a large tray at a level close to the ground, allows the infant to take full advantage of the activity, and promotes their communication with other peers, as they are able to all gather round the tray together. The activity further helps develop confidence in the child, as they become more self assured with the marks they are making in the mixture. This helps support the development of mathematics and language. • 3. Electronic Medical Record Essay An electronic medical record [EMR] is a computerised record that maintains patients health related data, which is available to be used and accessed, only by authorised personnel, in order to deliver healthcare services within the health organisation (Hasanain, Vallmuur Clark, 2014, p. 1). From patient record keeping to administrative reporting and clinical support tools, the extensive functionality of an EMR solution has the potential to fundamentally transform how healthcare services are provided by the hospital (Goo, Huang Koo, 2015). EMRs have been available worldwide for some time and are implemented into hospitals because of the expected benefits such as increased delivery of patient care, improved access to patient... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Previous research on EMR implementation has identified that EMR implementation is most likely to fail due to user rejection, so it is important to recognize the thoughts and beliefs that doctors, nurses and other health professionals may have to be able to anticipate whether they will accept or reject the new EMR (Goo et al., 2015). Clearly, EMR technology exists, but even with the best technology success is not guaranteed. The challenge is the implementation, and understanding the reluctance of change amongst users is critical for developing adoption strategies (Khalifa, 2013). The complexity and usability of the system greatly impacts user acceptance. The more accurate and timely that data can be entered into the system, the more beneficial the system will be (Struik et al., 2014). If the system is poorly designed or if there is a lack of technical support and training, clinical workflow may become more time consuming creating resistance from clinicians (Goo et ... Approximately 3 million individuals within the United States are currently suffering from what was once and unknown and untreatable virus. Non A and non B hepatitis are two forms of the virus that were prevalent back in the 1970 s. It is the main filtering organ of the body and is involved in processes such a synthesis of plasma proteins, storage of glycogen for energy use as well as excretion, secretion and detoxification of products such as bilirubin, alcohol, cholesterol and drugs. Since the liver is the only organ to rid hemoglobin from the body, one of the most important functions it carries out is bilirubin metabolism. The heme component of hemoglobin is first converted to bilirubin by set of enzymes. It is then bound to albumin and transported to the liver hepatocytes where the enzyme uridyl diphosphate glucoronyl transferase converts bilirubin into water soluble conjugated form so it can be excreted into the intestines. If the hepatocytes within the liver are damage due to invasion of HCV, bilirubin will not be able to be excreted thus resulting in the buildup of bile. When bile builds up, the skin turn to a yellowish color called jaundice. This usually happens during the later stages of hepatitis (Sunheimer Graves, 2011). There are two phases of hepatitis C; acute and chronic. After exposure of HCV, 85 90% of both types of hepatitis are usually asymptomatic but symptoms can occur during the acute phase following a 2 12 week incubation period. • 6. The Cave And Eatting Summary The two stories in which we discuss today are The Cave and Eatting; both of them are related in character, tone, and setting, (for the most part). The characters of the Stories, Sissy and Russell, are in sharp contrast of each other. While both of them can be perceived as introverts, Russel is much more... Well for the lack of better word, un disciplined and almost childlike in behavior. For example in this scene in the Eatting, The mule looked as if had come to inspect something... Russell handed him one end of a roll of toilet paper, which the mule took... and then walked away carefully, gently, drawing the toilet paper out... There was really no reason for him to do this; he just wanted to do for its own sake. Also in this story Russell is described as eating out a whole restaurant of their eggs, and just being all around gluttonous. In contrast, Sissy is much more reserved and in control of her desires often having to give in to Russell s demands, like in The Cave where Russell wants sex every five seconds.... Cleopatra and Empress Wu Comparative Essay: Cleopatra and Empress Wu Zetian Silke Karla Vinyard Strayer University Professor Mayhall HUM111346SC034 1164 001 (World Cultures 1) May 24, 2016 Cleopatra and Empress Wu Zetian Cleopatra and Empress Wu Zetian were two very powerful women of their time. Cleopatra, Last Pharaoh of Egypt. As queen of Egypt, Cleopatra is one of the most famous female rulers in history. Cleopatra s family ruled Eygpt for more than 100 years before she was born around 69 BC. Empress Wu Zetian of Tang Dynasty. She was one of the concubines of Emperor Taizong; she was the empress of Emperor Gaozong; she was the mother of Emperor Zhongzong and Emperor Ruizong; she was once a nun in the temple. Little is known about Cleopatra s mother, but some speculation presumes she may have been her father s sister, Cleopatra V Tryphaena. Debate also surrounds Cleopatra s ethnicity. While it was believed for a long time that she was of Greek descent, some speculate that her lineage may have been black African. In 51 B.C., Ptolemy XII died, leaving the throne to 18 year old Cleopatra and her brother, the 10 year old Ptolemy XIII. It is likely that the two siblings married, as was customary at the time. Over the next few years Egypt struggled to face down a number of issues, from an unhealthy economy to floods to famine. Political turmoil also shaped this period. Soon after they assumed power, complications arose between Cleopatra and Ptolemy XIII. Eventually Cleopatra fled to Syria, where she assembled an army to defeat her rival in order to declare the throne for herself. In 48, she returned to Egypt with her military might and faced her brother at Pelusium, located on the empire s eastern edge. Most of what we know about Cleopatra was written after her death when it was politically expedient to portray her as a threat to Rome and its stability. Thus, some of what we know about Cleopatra may have been exaggerated or misrepresented by those sources. Cassius Dio, one of the ancient sources that tells her story, summarizes her story as She captivated the two greatest Romans of her day, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Plato s Views On Democracy In The Republic of Plato, Plato, in addition to sharing his views on justice, shares his views on democracy using a fictionalized Socrates to outline the most pressing issues. Plato s views on democracy are negative; he believes democracy to be bred from a response to inequality of wealth and to heighten all of humanities worst traits. Platobelieves democracyleads to unequipped leaders who hold offices and power without the necessary traits and preparation. The main issue Plato has with democracy, as outlined in The Republicof Plato, is democracy has a uniquely level playing field for all and that this leads to people working toward endeavors that do not suit their best abilities, which goes against Plato s own image of justice as Plato s image holds to the idea that justice is primarily found in the community more so than the individual and that it is realized on an individual and societal level when people help to advance society by working toward endeavors that best suit their natural abilities (55). This democratic equality, the author feels, leads to those who are unequipped and unprepared to rule leading the masses. For example, Plato utilizes the metaphor of the ship to show this issue of democracy, that many of the crew, though not equipped to lead, will try to steer to steer the ship and that the struggle will eventually lead the crew to wreck the ship (195 196). Plato also associates democracy with tyranny, noting that when freedom is taken to an extreme it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Religion In Beowulf Beowulf: A Christian Book Beowulf, a poem written around the 10th to 11th century, is a very detailed poem describing some of the actions a character by the name of Beowulf does. It takes place in Anglo Saxon time (British Library, n.d., p. 1). Throughout the first episode, characters are very boastful and like to roast each other as well. This poem later gets pretty violent and gruesome. However, many people think Beowulf is a Christian poem. Others say it isn t. Beowulf is a Christian poem and not a pagan one for many reasons. These include that God is talked a lot about throughout the whole poem, even that pagan parts to this book have a different meaning than what is said, and Beowulf is made after Jesus Christ. Beowulf comes along and slays the beast to save all the people, acting as a savior to all these needy folks. He barely knew these Danish people yet he came and saved their lives. The Danes thought of him as their savior sent to them by God. He came out of nowhere and saved their lives. He put himself in harm s way to protect the group of people he barely knew. Jesus did that in His life by saving all of us (Matthew 18). He came and defeated the beast which was death and rose again on the third day. Though Beowulf didn t die and come back to life, he did do some very Christ like actions as a man. He saves lives just as Jesus did. Now, Jesus Christ was long dead by the time this poem was written. However, if this book was a pagan book, how could the Anglo Saxonseven find ways to compare Beowulf to Jesus Christ. They wouldn t even know who he is. The author of this book knew who Jesus was and based his main character after Him. Who could be a better main character than a man who resembles Jesus Christ? Really nothing can beat that. The author of the poem had a genius thought when writing it by letting Beowulf be like Jesus. This proves again that Beowulf is a Christian book and no a pagan ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Scientific Research Design The two types of investigation that would be needed is a field study interviewing customers immediately after their visit to a retail establishment and an on line survey after the computer user visited the website. In both surveys, questions regarding customer service will be asked. They would inquire as to the details that pertained to their specific opinion of that day s retail service quality. The service quality could be questioned immediately after the persons shopping experience; whether in person as they exited the store or on line, which should help with their ease of recall. Questions would pertain to reliability, problem solving, and their personal interaction, as well as the store policies. Personal interaction would be determined by using a graded scale of the customer s perception of their attitude, problem solving, and overall care by the sales professional. For the on line shopper, the questionnaire would differ. It would ask the customer to grade the ease of the transaction and the ability to maneuver throughout the website. The software would be graded instead of a sales person. Accredited programme requirements were created from the Criminal Justice Act 2003 but in order to understand how this came to be it is significant that the history and political context of the probation service is understood. The Probation of Offenders Act was established in 1907 and under this act the release if offenders into the community under the control of probation officers were made official. The primary aim of the probation was made clear under this act which was to advise, assist and befriend and it continued that way until 1970 s. However, research carried out in the 1990 s as part of what works movement identified that the most successful sentences were those that attempted to change, not only the offender s behaviour but also their attitude towards their offending (Hollin, 2007). This catalysed the push towards cognitive behavioural approaches and by 1999 one especially important development was the establishment of the Correctional Services Accreditation Panel, which quality assured probation and prison programmes for rehabilitating offending. This technique brought an emphasis of individual responsibility of an offender (Mair,2004). A criticism of this was the lack of attention of sociological factors that can influence criminal behaviour. Responsibility of offenders can be considered to have arose as part of the Just Deserts in which is fundamental to it rational in two ways. First, the need to sentence individuals for the crime committed rather than sociological or behavioural issue that may have been a factor in the offender committing the crime. Secondly, under the concept of proportionality in which the sentence is proportionate to the crime. At this point a very subtle difference in sentencing had an impact on the way probation was viewed because non custodial sentences became recognised as an alternative to prison rather than an alternative to punishment (Worrall, 2006). Passengers are willing to give up their comfort and other in flight services such as entertainment and during their journey for low ticket prices. However, over the past few decades, operating long haul flights was not to the advantage of these budget airlines. The cost of fuel made it for the most part, took up a huge proportion of the costs needed to manage/operate these flights.According to The Economist article, Oasis airline went into liquidation a year after they had started flying from London to Vancouver at low cut prices in 2008. Within his writings, Luke recounts the Passover, Christ s warning of the betrayal, and the night of the betrayal. On the night of the betrayal, he recounts Christ waking the sleeping disciples, Judas amongst them, explaining him rising to bestow a kiss onto Christ. St. Luke states: And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near to Jesusto kiss him (Luke 21:47). Giotto s fresco directly becomes influenced from this scene, and becomes the point of action he creates within his biblical narrative fresco. His composition marks the beginning of the chaos that clouds Christ s arrest; illustrating the powerful confrontation Christ and Judas are compelled into. While Christ is depicted unwavering in his pose and expression, Judas is rendered in a furious facial expression and stance. His face is inflated more so than Christ s, illustrating the swelling of corruption beneath his physical features. He appears almost to gaze hatefully towards Christ, as his eyebrows become fused tightly together and appear to create a tension within his form. He pose is similar to an animalistic stance; he has one hand on Christ s shoulder to draw him in nearer, while enclosing his long yellow cloak around his figure to envelop him within this grasp. During the process of further education nurses are exposed to professional socialization, which addresses values, norms and ways of viewing situations that are unique to the profession. Changes include: an aging and more diverse population, changing reimbursement practices, new technology and scientific discoveries, new diseases related to social and environmental problems. Changes in nursing roles represent a shift in the view of nursing from simply an occupation or job to a profession with a commitment to the role (Blais amp; Hayes, 2011). Changes in the healthcare system affect society s expectation of nursing care. Due to these high expectations, nurses are returning to school in order to satisfy these prospects and are more effective in their roles. Comparable transaction is a conventional method of evaluating the value of something that is ready for sale. The Bet Performer was a 11 year old ship, built in 1997, 172,000 DWT capsize bulk carrier. From the Exhibit 4, there are five ships which are the most comparable to Bet Performer. Relationship between Age and Ship Price: From the regression, we find that as the ship ages by one year, the price of the ship drops by $ 4.54 mln. This makes sense because as with any other vehicle or asset, the efficiency of the ship drops with age. As it gets older, the carrying value of the ship lowers due to depreciation. Relationship between Charter rates and Ship Price: With one point increase in the Capesize ship index, there is a slight increase in the price of the ship by $0.007 mln. The Capesize ships took like a year to build, and are good for 25 years, after which they are demolished and sold for scrap. The economics of this ship breaking differed by ship size and type category. So higher this index, higher is the price of the ship. b.Can you think of other factors that might predict ship prices? Include some of the scientists involved in their discovery and development. Simply put radiation is energy or particles flying through space. Radiation comes in three forms Alpha, Beta and Gamma radiation, all three types have vastly different applications and levels of strength. The most common type of electromagnetic radiation used in the medical is known as ionising radiation, that form of radiation is far more powerful than non ionising radiation because it cannot break molecular bonds or ionise atoms. Nuclear radiation can both be exceptionally useful and ridiculously dangerous if the proper measures are not put in place.
