Text and Data Mining at the Royal Library in the Netherlandsopenminted_eu
The Koninklijke Bibliotheek has a large collection of machine readable structured and semi-structured data that is the result of over 200 years of collecting, 30 years of digitization, and 10 years of collecting born-digital content. Examples of datasets include newspapers from 1840-1995 made available through an ngram viewer, political speeches from 1814 to present enriched and visualized, and radio bulletins developed through collaborations. Lessons learned are that researchers use the data in unexpected ways, collaborations provide insights, opening data creates new opportunities, and connections are built with the research community.
DARIAH aims to create a digital research infrastructure for the arts and humanities in Europe. As humanities research becomes more collaborative and data-driven due to advances in information and communication technologies, stable pan-European research infrastructures are needed. DARIAH would provide continuity and support for digital arts and humanities research by giving access to distributed digital resources through a strong European data infrastructure. It currently has 14 member organizations across 10 countries working to prepare the technical and organizational foundations to establish DARIAH through obtaining financial commitments.

Combined Illegal, Unregulated and Unreported (IUU) Vessel List.Christina Parmionova
The best available, up-to-date information on all fishing and related vessels that appear on the illegal, unregulated, and unreported (IUU) fishing vessel lists published by Regional Fisheries Management Organisations (RFMOs) and related organisations. The aim of the site is to improve the effectiveness of the original IUU lists as a tool for a wide variety of stakeholders to better understand and combat illegal fishing and broader fisheries crime.
To date, the following regional organisations maintain or share lists of vessels that have been found to carry out or support IUU fishing within their own or adjacent convention areas and/or species of competence:
Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR)
Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna (CCSBT)
General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM)
Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC)
International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT)
Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC)
Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organisation (NAFO)
North East Atlantic Fisheries Commission (NEAFC)
North Pacific Fisheries Commission (NPFC)
South East Atlantic Fisheries Organisation (SEAFO)
South Pacific Regional Fisheries Management Organisation (SPRFMO)
Southern Indian Ocean Fisheries Agreement (SIOFA)
Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC)
The Combined IUU Fishing Vessel List merges all these sources into one list that provides a single reference point to identify whether a vessel is currently IUU listed. Vessels that have been IUU listed in the past and subsequently delisted (for example because of a change in ownership, or because the vessel is no longer in service) are also retained on the site, so that the site contains a full historic record of IUU listed fishing vessels.
Unlike the IUU lists published on individual RFMO websites, which may update vessel details infrequently or not at all, the Combined IUU Fishing Vessel List is kept up to date with the best available information regarding changes to vessel identity, flag state, ownership, location, and operations.

14. 1. Immediate focus should be placed on populating a Canadian performing arts
knowledge graph.
2. Wikidata is complementary to Artsdata.ca; efforts should therefore be undertaken
to contribute to its population with performing arts related data.
3. A data governance framework needs to be developed in cooperation with
representatives from across the arts sector to establish who is able to share what
type of data with whom, and who will have authority over which data/information.
4. Further research is needed to better understand user requirements with regard to
the adoption of linked open data practices in existing and emerging service
offerings.
5. Further effort is required to develop and describe novel business models that
leverage and maintain a well-functioning linked open data ecosystem for the
performing arts.
Advisory Committee – Recommendations
16. LOD Publication of Named Entities and Controlled Vocabularies
Study funded by E-Government Switzerland, 2019
▶ Great demand for base registers relating to territorial divisions, geographical location of
objects, identification of organizations.
▶ High demand for data from the Federal Statistical Office and Swisstopo;
the latter is doing a great job in publishing LOD, the former less so.
▶ Most data publishers require additional support in view of LOD publication of base
registers (tools, guidelines, consulting).

Some Guiding Questions
• Who are the key stakeholders? What are their usage / contribution scenarios?
What are user needs in terms of data and services?
• Which elements of the linked data ecosystem are you/we focusing on? What
are complementary elements in terms of value creation?
• What are meaningful next steps? (think of low hanging fruits)
