Literature Review On Dehumidifiers
LITERATURE REVIEW 3.1 Literature Review The experimental analysis of a hybrid liquid desiccant
dehumidifier system by Nanda Kishore. The desiccant chosen for the analysis is aqueous solution of
calcium chloride. The effect of different operating variables on performance of both dehumidifier and
regenerator are studied. The parameters studied are the effect of mass air flow rate, air inlet
temperature, and desiccant inlet temperature. The practicability of dehumidification of supply air by
the desiccant loop of the hybrid system is demonstrated. A S Alosaimy is experimented to
Concentration of desiccant solution regenerated by solar energy. Experimental results show that
solution with 30% concentration can be regenerated up to 50% using solar energy. It was found that as
the regeneration temperature was increased, moisture absorbing capacity of air was increased. As the
regeneration temperature was increased, the dehumidification rate in the absorber was increased. The
moisture removal rate was increased with the increasing in regeneration. As the inlet temperature of
desiccant was increased, the dehumidification was reduced in the absorber, indicated the reduction in
moisture removal capacity. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This paper is an experimental study on a structured packed tower of liquid lithium chloride
dehumidifier system with different air velocity and flow rate of liquid desiccant. Desiccant
temperature set into 100C and desiccant concentration is 0.4. The result of this study shows that
averagely the moisture removal rate and the heat transfer rate are influenced both by the air velocity
and desiccant flow rate. The result shows that high air velocity will obtain the fast air
dehumidification but has low effectiveness and high liquid desiccant will obtain

The Sun and Its Features Essay
The Sun and Its Features
Changes in the magnetic field of the sun affect us here on earth in a number of interesting ways. This
magnetic field is caused by the flow of electrically charged ions and electrons on the sun, and if it didn
t exist, the sun would be a much more boring star. The 11 year cycle of the sun s magnetic field
accounts for many of the cool features of the sun: sunspots, solar flares, and aurora borealis. At the
beginning of the cycle, the magnetic field is weak and there are very few sunspots; later, at the peak of
the cycle, the magnetic field is strong, and there are many sunspots. Sunspots are relatively cool areas
that appear as dark patches on the face of the sun. They occur where magnetic field lines are ... Show

Well, when the sun is at solar maximum, the speed and density of the solar wind goes up, and there are
many more northern lights.
Another example of the way the sun interacts with the earth is solar flares. Remember that sunspots
occur when magnetic field lines are twisted below the surface of the sun, well, solar flares occur when
magnetic field lines are twisted above the surface of the sun. Solar flares are huge explosions on the
surface of the sun that occur near sunspots. They can release as much energy as a billion megatons of
TNT. You might think that this huge a burst of energy has got to effect the earth somehow, and it does.
Big solar flares send so much electrical energy to earth that they have been known to blow out huge
portions of the power grid, disable million dollar satellites, and even corrode metal pipelines. During a
solar maximum there are many more solar flares than normal. Because of this threat, we have
launched the SOHO satellite into space to sit between the sun and the earth and monitor the sun s
activity. It can give us some advanced warning if a solar flare is headed our way.
A third example of how the sunspot cycle effects the earth is more interesting, but also more
controversial. Scientists have found that the 11 year solar cycle isn t the same every time. The sun
goes through this cycle like a pendulum, but the pendulum is an unstable one. Sometimes the
pendulum can

Bridget Jones Character Analysis
Throughout this novel, we see Bridget Jones having a breakdown as she writes her way through her
struggles. In the novel, the quote her nerves are shot to ribbons is used to describe Bridget. This is a
perfect quote to overlook the whole book honestly, because the meaning behind it is that she is either
disappointed or depressed. In most of her situations she never knows what to do. Her mom also
explains that she cannot stand her own problems and tries to solve them through others. This metaphor
is a huge part of this book because it is clear that Bridget has many issues she needs to work out.
The first major aspect in this novel would be the ideal of self perfection. In the article Contextualizing
Bridget Jones it says, Bridget is always trying to better herself with diets, self help books, and other
American pop culture (Marsh, 53) . In the end, she still is not happy with herself. She sees that
American way of how girls should look and feels this need to make all of these changes in her life by
starting a diary that begins with a list of things to better herself . One scene that was ironic was the
fact that after she lost a certain amount of weight she wanted, people said that she had looked better
the other way. Even if she thought she was doing the right thing, whether it was for her or for herself,
her wants/needs still were not met. In this novel we see that she is in a state of being disappointed in
whatever relationship she is dealing with or even herself. As

The Double Helix Report
In The Double Helix by J.D. Watson he tells the story as to how he and Francis Crick discovered the
structure of DNA. After reading this book I was able to see how the structure of DNA was discovered
since I didn t really have a lot of knowledge as to who discovered DNA besides what the biology book
briefly talked about. During this time there was not a lot of people interested in DNA but for the
people that were it was almost like a race to see who could discovered it first. Through the book one
of their most fierce competition would have to be Maurice Wilkins and Rosalind Franklin. Thanks to
their research Watson and Crick were able to discover the structure of DNA first. Even though
Maurice and Rosalind were on the same team they could ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Watson and Crick were able to work great as a team because they both had something to contribute to
the discovery of DNA. Crick did a lot of the mathematical work and was normally found in the lab
first before Watson. On the other hand Watson did a lot of the research, he would often go to different
conferences to hear any new discoveries concerning DNA in order to stay on top of their game. After
each conference Watson would report his findings to Crick and use that in their advantage. This is one
of the things that made them extremely successful were as Rosalind and Maurice would share their
ideas and accepted any criticisms and opinion. For example we are able to see how much Watson
values Francis opinions when he says Another fifteen minutes fiddling by Francis failed to find
anything wrong, though for brief intervals my stomach felt uneasy when i saw him frowning. In each
case he became satisfied and moved on to verify that interatomic contact was reasonable (pg 406). In
this statement we are able to see how Francis frowning shows that they relied in each other for support
and approval. Watson and Crick also shared their findings with other scientist because they knew that
they would need the input of skilled chemist and biologist to help them in the process of the discovery

Harriet Jacob s Incidents In The Life Of A Slave Girl
Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl Book Report Slavery is defined as people being treated as
property. Masters, or the owners, of the slaves worked the slaves to death. Masters also beat and
treated slaves harshly. Slavery in the United States began in Virginia, in 1619. Slaves worked in the
fields of crops, served as maids, and were sold to other masters for money. In the book Incidents in the
Life of a Slave Girl, is a biography of Harriet Jacobs s life as a slave. Jacobs wrote a book about her
experiences of being a slave. She used different names in the book, just for privacy. Harriet was
known as Linda in the book. Linda was born into slavery. Her father was a carpenter. He tried to
purchase his children, but he never succeeded. Linda s parents were mulattoes. A mulatto is a child

The Impact Of Tourism On Antarctica During The 2015-16 Season
IAATO indicate that more than 100 different nationalities were represented by tourists who visited the
Antarctica during the 2015 16 season.
Four IAATO operators conducted commercial deep field tourism activities during the 2015 16 season,
employed experienced guides; over 80% of which have worked previously in Antarctica. Staff and
guides assist in the preparation of policies and guidelines, and ensure their implementation in the field.
Ship based tourism is expected to again include the operation of small auxiliary boats, shore landings,
kayaking, mountain climbing, running events, SCUBA diving, snorkelling, skiing, snowboarding,

Another threat comes from smaller expeditions that are becoming increasingly common by individuals
and small parties. Antarctica requires careful planning and a series of fail safe rescue procedures if
anyone gets into difficulty. These smaller expeditions sometimes fail to do this adequately and resort
to humanitarian requests for aid from shipping or nearby national bases when they get into difficulty.
In recent years for example a small helicopter (totally unsuitable for the task) crashed into the sea off
the Antarctica Peninsula requiring rescue.
There have so far been no major pollution incidents or losses of life in Antarctica as a result of
tourism, though there was a very close call in November 2007 with the holing and subsequent sinking
by an iceberg of the M/V Explorer in the Brans field Strait. Fortunately for the passengers and crew of
the Explorer the collision occurred in calm conditions, so everyone was able to get off the ship safely
and into lifeboats. (Ref: Crossley, Louise. Explore Antarctica. 1st ed. New York: Cambridge

The, Dog And Cat And Coffee And Tea Great Gatsby And...
Introvert Dog and Cat. Coffee and Tea. Great Gatsby and Catcher in the Rye. Everyone knows there
are two types of people in the world. What are they? . This question is quite easy to answer and refers
to human behavioural quirks and nature, Introverts and Extroverts. Surrounding the two vague types
are many stereotypes, but this will be addressing and explaining what it truly means to be an Introvert.
Introverts are typically more complex characters as a whole compared to Extroverts, the dynamics
between the two already a major difference. When a person hears Introvert they think Alone , Hates
People , Pessimist and Boring , whilst thinking Extroverts, on the other hand, as Happy , Friendly ,
Optimists , and Fun two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But when Introverts give themselves permission to seek the solitude they crave, life becomes lighter
and better. Social situations are more bearable. Even small talk is easier to endure when they ve
fortified themselves with solitude. Introverts are known for being quiet, another universal quirk.
Introverts are written economists suffering in a world of verbal hodgepodge. Unfortunately, this has
lead to awkward confrontations like Are you shy? or Why are you so quiet? . Now it s time to debunk
the typical Introvert myths. The most common one is that being Introverted means you re shy, and
often use the two words interchangeably. Both introverts and shy people tend to avoid socializing at
times, but they do so for different reasons. Introverts often stay on the sidelines at social events
because socializing drains their energy, whilst shy people tend to avoid going to unnecessary social
events at all because of their fear of the unknown. Instead of worrying about being drained, they re
concerned about making a mess of themselves or being rejected / judged. The next most common is
that Introverts are socially awkward. People assume that because you are Introverted, you don t know
how to behave or act socially. Many introverts have superior social skills. They are confident,
assertive, and interesting to talk to. People don t realize this because they assume everyone with good
social skills is an extrovert.

Detroit Riot Of 1943 Essay
The Detroit Riot of 1943 is a riot between the two racial ethnicities whites and blacks. During the
World War 2, this riot is said to be one of the worst riots that had happened during those times
(blackpast.org/Detroit race riot). Black people thought hey were heading to a guaranteed land where
they could seek for better future. However, white southerners didn t want black people to be in their
neighborhood; the white people brought their prejudices along with them as they migrate towards the
northern side. Because the arrival of newcomers, many suffered from being uncomfortable due to the
wartime rationing. Also, children were not given any care programs. At the same time, blacks were not
included from public housing. A lot of them lived in a home were indoor plumbing is not available,
yet they paid rent double than what white people are paying. Blacks faced many discriminations and
imbalanced actions by police. Basically, the main cause of this riot is because of the segregation and
the unfair treatment of society to black people.
2. James Baldwin talks about his dad s life story before his father passed away. He also talks about his
childhood and how he does in school. He also talked about how he grew up during segregation and for

That Baldwin is not proud of being a Negro. His identity as a black person can never be erased. Lastly,

Drake Equation Research Paper
The Drake Equation is used to estimate of the rate at which stars are born in the galaxy, the fraction of
stars with planets, and the fraction of those planets on which life could originate, and so on. Although,
by those calculations, there should be about 10,000 civilizations in our galaxy capable of interstellar
communication. So, where are all the aliens? Extraterrestrial intelligence must exist somewhere in the
universe, but we might not be able to communicate with each other because of complications such as
different forms of communication, huge distances between each other, and/or they don t want to talk

It s reasonable to assume that how we re trying to communicate with possible extraterrestrial
intelligence may not be how they communicate, resulting in us believing no one is listening. It is
possible that our means of communication are primitive in comparison, and that our logic may be
vastly different than theirs. For example, if you were to send morse code in the hopes of someone
responding, it s mostly that no one is going to respond, let alone even notice it. Secondly, we may
have not been looking in the right places either. A prime reason for this is that we really don t know
where to look in the first place. We have ideas, but nothing concrete whatsoever. Another reason may
just be that we haven t had enough time yet, as we can only send messages so quickly, in so many

How Did Athens Treat Athenian Women
Throughout culture, women have gone through various types of adversity as well as treatment. Some
cultures, such as Persia, treated women with great respect and gave them social as well as legal
freedom. Although they were treated less than men, they were given much more respect in comparison
to many other cultures. In Athens, women and slaves were somewhat held to the same standard.
Citizenship was limited to males (Crash Course) in Greece, so slaves and women were not given much
respect and did not have very many legal rights. They were not allowed to vote, take part in politics, or
even watch the Olympics (which was partly because the participants of the Olympics did not wear

This is proved in The Economist when Socrates says And when you married her she was quite young,
a mere girl at an age when, as far as seeing and hearing go, she had the smallest acquaintance with the
outer world? More often than not, the men that they were arranged to marry were well into their 30 s.
Typically, the girls did not know or meet their husband until the wedding. Also, Athenians placed great
importance on virginity, so they would perform a ceremony called a betrothal where witnesses would
confirm the virginity of the girl. An additional celebration called a gamos was held in order for the
father to give his daughter away to her new husband. Before the celebration, the bride was washed and
dressed by female relatives. The bride would wear a white dress (similar to now), a crown, and would
carry a pomegranate or another fruit that had many seeds inside. The bride carried a pomegranate
because it was supposed to symbolize fertility. The day following the ceremony, both families would
have a celebration that is similar to a reception nowadays. One major difference between then and
now is that the groom would pretend to kidnap his bride and carry her across the threshold of their
house. Even though she was introduced to their new household after the wedding, she would not
become a full member of the household or treated with

Safety is the first thing that should come to mind when riding in a car. There are many advertisements
that promote wearing a seatbelt all the time while driving or simply being a passenger. It has been

effective than others, because it uses a powerful meaning or song details. The reason tis due to many
fatal injuries and deaths have occurring for not wearing a seatbelt. Injuries are also the reason behind
those specific laws requiring to wear a seatbelt. It is it not worth sacrificing a life, especially that of

death year explains that a person who wears the seatbelt, could prevent own death. This is, also the
very important message the viewer must grasp. There are no words to further explain the image. This
is the reason the image clearly gives the message, rather than explain it with words. This is also the
relation of why the ad is an implicit appeal. It does not have anything spelled out which will make the

The Pros And Cons Of Carry A Concealed Weapon
How would it feel if there were more law abiding people that carry a concealed weapon, this would
help deter crime and help the country become safer and more crime free. The people who are scared of
guns don t need to be, the firearm laws restrict certain guns and ammo from being used and sold to
civilians.
To begin, the concealed carry laws don t do much to protect citizens because gun control doesn t deter
crime gun ownership will. It is also our second amendment right to arm our self and the right to
defend. There for more citizens who carry a concealed weapon, the less crime will be committed. The
criminals will be at risk from others, and at a higher chance of them being shoot as soon as they would

Essay on An Analysis Of John Berger
Pictures Don amp;#8217;t Always Paint a Thousand Words
John Berger makes a bold statement in saying amp;#8220; No other relic or text from the past can
offer such a direct testimony about the world which surrounded other people at other times. In this
respect images are more precise and richer than literature, ; (Ways of Reading, 106). This statement is
very untrue. Literature has been the focal point of all modern learning.. Literature lets the reader feel
what the author is thinking, not just see it as you would in a painting. This can be proven after reading
Berger amp;#8216;s descriptions of paintings in Ways of Seeing and also reading parts of literature
written by W.E.B Dubois.
When a reader reads ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another example, that writing explains much more than a picture is Berger amp;#8217;s On
Rembrandt amp;#8217;s amp;#8220;Women in Bed. ; When I look at this painting I see a young
woman looking up at something from her bed. He writes amp;#8220; there is a complicity between the
women and the painter. This complicity includes both retinence and abandon , day and night. The
curtain of the bed which Hendrickje lifts up her hand , marks the threshold between daytime and
nighttime. ;( 129) From this painting I could not see any of this. The writing paints this picture in the
readers mind, much better than the actual image. This explanation also enables a reader to relate to the
writing. From this writing I can see this girl in the bed and almost feel what she is thinking. From the
picture all I saw was a girl laying in bed, nothing more.
Again Berger describes Caravaggio amp;#8217;s amp;#8220;The Calling of St. Matthew ;. In this

Berger amp;#8217;s description a reader or viewer can see much more . Berger amp;#8217;s says this

salem witchcraft trials cause and effect Essay
In 1692 the area of Salem town and Salem village became very vulnerable to conflict. Severe weather
such as hurricanes had damaged land and crops, the effects of King Phillips War began to impact New
England society, and colonists were being forced off of the frontiers by Native peoples. The Church
and the government were in heavy conflict. And those residing in Salem began to grow suspicious of
one another when some prospered and others hadn t (Marcus, p13).
Suddenly people seemed very paranoid and soon residents were placing blame on one another and
accusing each other of witchcraft. In a fifteen month period between 1691 and 1692 nearly twelve
dozen people were accused of witchcraft in or near Salem (Norton, p8). ... Show more content on

Relationships between people and families seemed to crumble in the light of hysteria as children
accused parents and friends pointed out friends (Boyer, p67). Some confessed to witchcraft and saved
their own lives, others refused to tarnish their names and proclaimed innocence to their grave. The fact
that these people did not have freedom of speech and were proven guilty without any tangible
evidence caused even more hysteria throughout New England. People realized that at anytime anyone
of them could be pointed out and so the society fell even more.
One can see the Salem witch trials as being an excessive representation of the social and economic
changes taking place in New England at this time (Boyer, p67). Differences between those who
accepted change and those who feared it are what divided the colony. The hanging of witches can be
seen as the murder of difference or of change.
Perhaps if they had not been so insecure about their methods of governing the colony, the Puritans
wouldn t have felt threatened by the slightest change. It took nineteen innocent deaths for the leaders
of Salem to even begin to see the wrong doing in their trials. The Salem witch trials of the 1690 s had
an immense impact on American history. These dark times cast a shadow that would forever haunt this
country s past, knowing that our fore fathers were not the

the Arctic and Antarctica have only fairly recently begun to develop. Originally classified as remote
regions in the world, where the only activities, which took place, were small scale fishing and hunting
by locals in order to survive, they have become sources of great economic development and
prosperity.

In 1968, the great quantities of oil and gas discovered beneath Alaska s North Slope, overlooking
Prudhoe Bay, subsequently led to the construction of the Trans Alaska pipeline to Valdez in 1974. This
increased communication links and trade links and therefore brought in vast amounts of money for the
economy and until 1990, oil and natural gas still provided 85% of Alaska s gross state product.
As personal wealth and length of leisure time are increasing, people are beginning to seek out new,
more exotic locations. For example, tourism in Alaska has become a vital industry, attracting almost
1.1 million people per year. Visitors not only come to view the landscape features, such as its coasts,
glaciers and mountains, but also to see its huge variety of wild life (ranging from Brown bears to sea
lions) and for fishing (especially salmon). Such levels of tourism have increased economic
development as tourists themselves bring money into the state as well as foreign currency. Tourism is
constantly increasing and being developed as the government want to diversify employment
opportunities in order to increase the rate of economic growth.
Antarctica has similar reasons for economic development, however, on a much smaller scale due to its
uninhabitable climate and landscape. The tourism industry is

Creon As A Dynamic Character In Sophocles Antigone
In the play Antigone by Sophocles is a tragedy. The play is about four brothers Antigone,Ismene,
Eteocles, and Polyneices the two brothers died fighting for the throne. Creon the new ruler decides
that only Eteocles should be honored and Polyneices was not to be honored which meant they were
going to leave him unburied. Antigone did not agree with this idea her sister didn t share the same
option but that was because she was scared, during that time it wasn t a good thing to go against the
ruler but Antigone didn t really seem to care what this brought to her and she continued with her plan.
In this play we can see how some characters develop a static and a dynamic of character. In this case
we are looking at Antigone and Creon characters of development in term of defining them as a static
or a dynamic character. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She does a lot of things throughout the play in terms of action but her beliefs remain the same though
the whole play and that s what defines her as a static character. For example, there s one part in the
play where Antigone is talking to Ismene about how she does not agree with Creon on what he wanted
to do with there brother and Antigone wants to do something about it but Ismene not to much because
she is afraid to go against the ruler. This shows how Antigone is loyal to her family and stay strong s
on what she believes in even if it means going against the ruler. Another example is when Creon finds
out what Antigone did and Ismene tries to take the blame for her but Antigone does not let her. This
once again shows how Antigone stays loyal to her word and isn t afraid to take responsibility of her
actions and this shows how she is static character because she stays the same on what she beliefs and

The three worst habits teens have are road rage, poor thinking on safety, and multitasking. Anyone that
drives has experienced road rage. However, most teens practice the bad habit of road rage, mainly
because they want to be the fastest drivers and the best above all .Besides the bad habits of teenagers ,
in the past the only issue was drinking and speeding up while driving, now people have to be
concerned more about texting . Texting and driving is a huge safety risk that can cause the driver and
innocent passengers to be killed or injured.Due to the number of death that had been occurred as a
result of texting , then it is a strong and important issue to be concerned about. Having a life taken

should be awared about. The main question that has been listed is why can not people resist to pick up

Literature Review Of Stirling Engine
Literature Review Stirling engines were invented in the early 1800 s and since then there have been
major changes to the design to adjust to certain criteria. In the early stages of the engine the ability to
create highly efficient engines became limited due to technology and materials available. All the
sources sampled agree on what a Stirling engine was and what characteristics make them different. A
Stirling engine is a heat engine that has the heating and cooling of the gas which then applies pressure
on the piston heads thus moving both the gases and the pistons creating energy (American Stirling
Company, n.d). Other articles on Stirling engines agree, saying Stirling engines are machines that
operate in a closed regenerative thermodynamic cycle. The use of Stirling engines is based off the
Stirling engine cycle of power (Asnaghi, Ladjevardi, Izadkhast, Kashani, 2012). Other respected
articles agree with this basic definition of the engine saying that applying an external heat source to a
closed cylinder where the cyclical expansion and compression of air inside the cylinder drives the
pistons up and down (Helman, 2015) and because the engine is a closed system the expansion of gases
cause the pistons to move (Saab, 2015). An introduction to a 2010 study points out that there are more
concepts to the Stirling engine then just mechanics saying, The Stirling engine is based on the
materials, development, and design of the engine to determine how well it works

The Indian Ocean Trade
Between 650 C.E. and 1450 C.E., trade and interaction in the Indian Ocean was the largest in the
world. Although the Indian Ocean trade network was small when it first began, the network was able
to expand and led to the inclusion of Europe while the exchange of ideas, goods and religion remained
constant. During this time period, the construction of large and powerful states provided security for
merchants and travelers, which helped long distance commerce. The golden ages of numerous
powerful states also led to the flourishing of ideas.
At the beginning of the time period, Malay sailors learn how to use the winds from monsoons to sail
to China and India. This allowed for the exchange of knowledge and allowed the various groups of
people to make connections. The Malay sailors desired the cotton and sugar from India and also
craved the silk from China, and spices such as cinnamon, pepper, cloves, nutmeg and mace from the
East Indies. This trade network was small when it was first established.
As time progresses, changes within the Indian Ocean region occur. New states were created such as
Srivijaya and the Swahili City States. Trade routes expand to further distances. Connections are made
to the Trans Saharan trade in Africa. The East African Swahili city states also become incorporated
into this trade network. Greater inclusion of China, the Tang and Song dynasties, adds to the extensive
trade network. Controlling empires also fluctuate throughout the time period. During

Lincoln s Sandford Peoria Speech Summary
Lincoln is one of the champions of human life and dignity. He is one of the presidents in the US.
Lincoln led the United States through its Civil War its bloodiest war and its greatest moral,
constitutional, and political crisis. In doing so, he preserved the Union, abolished slavery, strengthened
the federal government, and modernized the economy.By the 1850s, slavery was still legal in the
southern United States, but had been generally outlawed in the northern states, including Illinois,
whose original 1818 Constitution forbade slavery, as required by the Northwest Ordinance. Lincoln
disapproved of slavery, and the spread of slavery to new U.S. territory in the west. On October 16,

Sandford; Chief Justice Roger B. Taney opined that blacks were not citizens, and derived no rights
from the Constitution. Lincoln denounced the decision, alleging it was the product of a conspiracy of
Democrats to support the Slave Power. Lincoln argued that the authors of the Declaration of
Independence never intended to say all were equal in color, size, intellect, moral developments, or
social capacity , but they did consider all men created equal equal in certain inalienable rights, among
which are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness .After the state Republican party convention
nominated him for the U.S. Senate in 1858, Lincoln delivered his House Divided Speech, drawing on
Mark 3:25. He said that ahouse divided against it couldn t stand. The speech created an evocative
image of the danger of disunion caused by the slavery debate, and rallied Republicans across the
North. The stage was then set for the campaign for statewide election of the Illinois legislature, which
would, in turn, select Lincoln or Douglas as its U.S. senator. On November 6, 1860, Lincoln was
elected the 16th president of the United States, beating Democrat Stephen A. Douglas, John C.
Breckinridge of the Southern Democrats, and John Bell of the new Constitutional Union Party. He was

Circles Of Context
Usually when I am told to read a verse in the Bible, I just read that verse and using the information
that specific verse provided, I take a guess at what that verse is saying or explaining. Little did I know
that because I was reading just one verse alone, I was probably misinterpreting it. The circles of
context were invented to help with this problem. We first look at the immediate text, then we can look
at the rest of the book, now we can look at the introductions of this book and others by the same
author. Then, we can look throughout the same testament to see if any other information relates, and
finally we can look into other testaments. By understanding the circles of context, we have a better

The Grapes Of Wrath By John Steinbeck And The Grapes Of Wrath
The novels The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck and Under the Feet of Jesus by Helena Maria
Viramontes both explore the plight of migrant farmers in California. Steinbeck tells the story of white
migrant workers during the Great Depression and Viramontes tells the story of Mexican migrant
workers. The novels deconstruct the perceived California dream in which great wealth can be
achieved through hard work by recounting the plights of migrant workers who recognize the illusion
and take action against it. Steinbeck s novel portrays the plight of the Joad family, natives of
Oklahoma. The Joads, a family of dispossessed farmers, travel to California searching for work after
the forces of large scale banking capitalism remove them from their land. They chase the promise of a
new beginning and the opportunity to find wealth because of the California dream. Steinbeck narrates
the journey of an underclass family achieving the Marxist construction of class consciousness. Class
conflict between wage slaves and the owners of the means of production, social alienation through the
separation of labor and profit, and dehumanization of workers through the mass commodification of
labor all appear in the novel. Class consciousness defines the novel and is the method by which the
Joad family is able to rise against the bourgeois and capitalism. The Joads are a member of the
proletariat and must work as laborers who are, according to Karl Marx, A class of labourers, who live

It is with this paranoid rambling that the reader meets Bromden. As the first chapter progresses we
witness more instances of his troubled mind and his way of describing people as part machine, part
human. Nurse Ratched is the called the Big Nurse, by Bromden. His description of her is an example
of his ability to link people with machines. She slides through the door with a gust of cold...(the) tip of
each finger the same color as her lips. Funny orange. Like the tip of a soldering iron. Color so hot or
so cold if she touches you with it you can t tell which. (Pg. 4 Kesey). She has the ability, in Bromden s
mind, to increase her size. She, blows up bigger and bigger, big as a tractor, so big you can smell the
machinery inside the way you smell a motor pulling too big a load. (Pg 5 Kesey). These descriptions
of humans who are made part machine, part human allow the reader to get a clearer understanding of
Bromden s illness. This, I believe, is a positive aspect of the novel, however there would seem to be,
at least one, negative aspect to Kesey s choice of narrators.
This choice of narrators for Kesey, in my opinion, may be considered troublesome. He seems to ask
the reader to trust the voice of a madman. This seems to do anything but create a narrator who is
trustworthy. Upon rereading the Nest, I found myself doubting the narrator because he seems to be
inconsistent. In the first section of the

The White Heron, By Sarah Orne Jewett
One of my favorite things in any type of literature is the setting. I love how the setting can change and
how the characters change with it. I also enjoy how the setting can give insight to how the author was
feeling and thinking while writing. Settings also help develop the themes of the work and provide the
reader with the ability to understand the story. I have found that I am draw towards stories of which
are set in the natural world. I think this is mostly due to my love of nature and the outdoors. The three
works that I chose to look at are The White Heron , Loveliest of trees, the cherry now , and

The Importance Of Clean Drinking Water In India
One of the biggest challenges facing the world today is the emphasis on providing clean water to
everyone throughout the world. This is a fairly easy task in wealthier countries with strong central
governments which establish regulations on how waterways are maintained and treated, however in
developing countries like India the task is insurmountable. With India s population soon to surpass
China by 2022 , there is a huge concern in the lack of clean drinking water for many of their citizens
(Riley, 2015). If India s population is going to continue to rise at the rates it is experiencing today, the
government must create more initiatives to alter the poor hygiene practices by its citizens, to ensure
everyone has access to clean drinking water. One of the biggest problems facing India s access to
clean water is the practice of improper hygiene, which is seen from the astronomical amount of people
that presently practice open defecation or someone defecating outside in the open. The practice stems
from early human civilization, but without much emphasis on the problem over the past century, it has
continued to rise with India s rising population. In India, a staggering 522 million of their citizens
practice open defecation (India, n.d.). This is an extreme cause for concern in a country that has such a
dense population due to its population size compared to the countries overall size. What this entails is
that even if the amount of people who practice open defecation

  • 2. Literature Review On Dehumidifiers LITERATURE REVIEW 3.1 Literature Review The experimental analysis of a hybrid liquid desiccant dehumidifier system by Nanda Kishore. The desiccant chosen for the analysis is aqueous solution of calcium chloride. The effect of different operating variables on performance of both dehumidifier and regenerator are studied. The parameters studied are the effect of mass air flow rate, air inlet temperature, and desiccant inlet temperature. The practicability of dehumidification of supply air by the desiccant loop of the hybrid system is demonstrated. A S Alosaimy is experimented to Concentration of desiccant solution regenerated by solar energy. Experimental results show that solution with 30% concentration can be regenerated up to 50% using solar energy. It was found that as the regeneration temperature was increased, moisture absorbing capacity of air was increased. As the regeneration temperature was increased, the dehumidification rate in the absorber was increased. The moisture removal rate was increased with the increasing in regeneration. As the inlet temperature of desiccant was increased, the dehumidification was reduced in the absorber, indicated the reduction in moisture removal capacity. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This paper is an experimental study on a structured packed tower of liquid lithium chloride dehumidifier system with different air velocity and flow rate of liquid desiccant. Desiccant temperature set into 100C and desiccant concentration is 0.4. The result of this study shows that averagely the moisture removal rate and the heat transfer rate are influenced both by the air velocity and desiccant flow rate. The result shows that high air velocity will obtain the fast air dehumidification but has low effectiveness and high liquid desiccant will obtain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Sun and Its Features Essay The Sun and Its Features Changes in the magnetic field of the sun affect us here on earth in a number of interesting ways. This magnetic field is caused by the flow of electrically charged ions and electrons on the sun, and if it didn t exist, the sun would be a much more boring star. The 11 year cycle of the sun s magnetic field accounts for many of the cool features of the sun: sunspots, solar flares, and aurora borealis. At the beginning of the cycle, the magnetic field is weak and there are very few sunspots; later, at the peak of the cycle, the magnetic field is strong, and there are many sunspots. Sunspots are relatively cool areas that appear as dark patches on the face of the sun. They occur where magnetic field lines are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Well, when the sun is at solar maximum, the speed and density of the solar wind goes up, and there are many more northern lights. Another example of the way the sun interacts with the earth is solar flares. Remember that sunspots occur when magnetic field lines are twisted below the surface of the sun, well, solar flares occur when magnetic field lines are twisted above the surface of the sun. Solar flares are huge explosions on the surface of the sun that occur near sunspots. They can release as much energy as a billion megatons of TNT. You might think that this huge a burst of energy has got to effect the earth somehow, and it does. Big solar flares send so much electrical energy to earth that they have been known to blow out huge portions of the power grid, disable million dollar satellites, and even corrode metal pipelines. During a solar maximum there are many more solar flares than normal. Because of this threat, we have launched the SOHO satellite into space to sit between the sun and the earth and monitor the sun s activity. It can give us some advanced warning if a solar flare is headed our way. A third example of how the sunspot cycle effects the earth is more interesting, but also more controversial. Scientists have found that the 11 year solar cycle isn t the same every time. The sun goes through this cycle like a pendulum, but the pendulum is an unstable one. Sometimes the pendulum can ... • 4. Bridget Jones Character Analysis Throughout this novel, we see Bridget Jones having a breakdown as she writes her way through her struggles. In the novel, the quote her nerves are shot to ribbons is used to describe Bridget. This is a perfect quote to overlook the whole book honestly, because the meaning behind it is that she is either disappointed or depressed. In most of her situations she never knows what to do. Her mom also explains that she cannot stand her own problems and tries to solve them through others. This metaphor is a huge part of this book because it is clear that Bridget has many issues she needs to work out. The first major aspect in this novel would be the ideal of self perfection. In the article Contextualizing Bridget Jones it says, Bridget is always trying to better herself with diets, self help books, and other American pop culture (Marsh, 53) . In the end, she still is not happy with herself. She sees that American way of how girls should look and feels this need to make all of these changes in her life by starting a diary that begins with a list of things to better herself . One scene that was ironic was the fact that after she lost a certain amount of weight she wanted, people said that she had looked better the other way. Even if she thought she was doing the right thing, whether it was for her or for herself, her wants/needs still were not met. In this novel we see that she is in a state of being disappointed in whatever relationship she is dealing with or even herself. As ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Double Helix Report In The Double Helix by J.D. Watson he tells the story as to how he and Francis Crick discovered the structure of DNA. After reading this book I was able to see how the structure of DNA was discovered since I didn t really have a lot of knowledge as to who discovered DNA besides what the biology book briefly talked about. During this time there was not a lot of people interested in DNA but for the people that were it was almost like a race to see who could discovered it first. After each conference Watson would report his findings to Crick and use that in their advantage. This is one of the things that made them extremely successful were as Rosalind and Maurice would share their ideas and accepted any criticisms and opinion. For example we are able to see how much Watson values Francis opinions when he says Another fifteen minutes fiddling by Francis failed to find anything wrong, though for brief intervals my stomach felt uneasy when i saw him frowning. Antarctica requires careful planning and a series of fail safe rescue procedures if anyone gets into difficulty. In recent years for example a small helicopter (totally unsuitable for the task) crashed into the sea off the Antarctica Peninsula requiring rescue. Introverts are written economists suffering in a world of verbal hodgepodge. Unfortunately, this has lead to awkward confrontations like Are you shy? or Why are you so quiet? . Now it s time to debunk the typical Introvert myths. The most common one is that being Introverted means you re shy, and often use the two words interchangeably. Both introverts and shy people tend to avoid socializing at times, but they do so for different reasons. Introverts often stay on the sidelines at social events because socializing drains their energy, whilst shy people tend to avoid going to unnecessary social events at all because of their fear of the unknown. Instead of worrying about being drained, they re concerned about making a mess of themselves or being rejected / judged. The next most common is that Introverts are socially awkward. People assume that because you are Introverted, you don t know how to behave or act socially. Many introverts have superior social skills. They are confident, assertive, and interesting to talk to. • 24. Literature Review Of Stirling Engine Literature Review Stirling engines were invented in the early 1800 s and since then there have been major changes to the design to adjust to certain criteria. In the early stages of the engine the ability to create highly efficient engines became limited due to technology and materials available. All the sources sampled agree on what a Stirling engine was and what characteristics make them different. A Stirling engine is a heat engine that has the heating and cooling of the gas which then applies pressure on the piston heads thus moving both the gases and the pistons creating energy (American Stirling Company, n.d). Other articles on Stirling engines agree, saying Stirling engines are machines that operate in a closed regenerative thermodynamic cycle. The use of Stirling engines is based off the Stirling engine cycle of power (Asnaghi, Ladjevardi, Izadkhast, Kashani, 2012). Other respected articles agree with this basic definition of the engine saying that applying an external heat source to a closed cylinder where the cyclical expansion and compression of air inside the cylinder drives the pistons up and down (Helman, 2015) and because the engine is a closed system the expansion of gases cause the pistons to move (Saab, 2015). An introduction to a 2010 study points out that there are more concepts to the Stirling engine then just mechanics saying, The Stirling engine is based on the materials, development, and design of the engine to determine how well it works ... The golden ages of numerous powerful states also led to the flourishing of ideas. At the beginning of the time period, Malay sailors learn how to use the winds from monsoons to sail to China and India. This allowed for the exchange of knowledge and allowed the various groups of people to make connections. The Malay sailors desired the cotton and sugar from India and also craved the silk from China, and spices such as cinnamon, pepper, cloves, nutmeg and mace from the East Indies. This trade network was small when it was first established. As time progresses, changes within the Indian Ocean region occur. New states were created such as Srivijaya and the Swahili City States. Trade routes expand to further distances. Connections are made to the Trans Saharan trade in Africa. The East African Swahili city states also become incorporated into this trade network. Greater inclusion of China, the Tang and Song dynasties, adds to the extensive trade network. Controlling empires also fluctuate throughout the time period. During ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Lincoln led the United States through its Civil War its bloodiest war and its greatest moral, constitutional, and political crisis. In doing so, he preserved the Union, abolished slavery, strengthened the federal government, and modernized the economy.By the 1850s, slavery was still legal in the southern United States, but had been generally outlawed in the northern states, including Illinois, whose original 1818 Constitution forbade slavery, as required by the Northwest Ordinance. Lincoln disapproved of slavery, and the spread of slavery to new U.S. territory in the west. On October 16, 1854, in his Peoria Speech , Lincoln declared his ... Lincoln denounced the decision, alleging it was the product of a conspiracy of Democrats to support the Slave Power. Lincoln argued that the authors of the Declaration of Independence never intended to say all were equal in color, size, intellect, moral developments, or social capacity , but they did consider all men created equal equal in certain inalienable rights, among which are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness .After the state Republican party convention nominated him for the U.S. Senate in 1858, Lincoln delivered his House Divided Speech, drawing on Mark 3:25. He said that ahouse divided against it couldn t stand. The speech created an evocative image of the danger of disunion caused by the slavery debate, and rallied Republicans across the North. The stage was then set for the campaign for statewide election of the Illinois legislature, which would, in turn, select Lincoln or Douglas as its U.S. senator. On November 6, 1860, Lincoln was elected the 16th president of the United States, beating Democrat Stephen A. Little did I know that because I was reading just one verse alone, I was probably misinterpreting it. The circles of context were invented to help with this problem. We first look at the immediate text, then we can look at the rest of the book, now we can look at the introductions of this book and others by the same author. • 34. The Grapes Of Wrath By John Steinbeck And The Grapes Of Wrath The novels The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck and Under the Feet of Jesus by Helena Maria Viramontes both explore the plight of migrant farmers in California. Steinbeck tells the story of white migrant workers during the Great Depression and Viramontes tells the story of Mexican migrant workers. The novels deconstruct the perceived California dream in which great wealth can be achieved through hard work by recounting the plights of migrant workers who recognize the illusion and take action against it. Steinbeck s novel portrays the plight of the Joad family, natives of Oklahoma. The Joads, a family of dispossessed farmers, travel to California searching for work after the forces of large scale banking capitalism remove them from their land. They chase the promise of a new beginning and the opportunity to find wealth because of the California dream. Steinbeck narrates the journey of an underclass family achieving the Marxist construction of class consciousness. Class conflict between wage slaves and the owners of the means of production, social alienation through the separation of labor and profit, and dehumanization of workers through the mass commodification of labor all appear in the novel. Class consciousness defines the novel and is the method by which the Joad family is able to rise against the bourgeois and capitalism. The Joads are a member of the proletariat and must work as laborers who are, according to Karl Marx, A class of labourers, who live only ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Young Americans formed a subgroup in American society that historians termed the counterculture . The Nest is a product of time when it was written. These descriptions of humans who are made part machine, part human allow the reader to get a clearer understanding of Bromden s illness. This, I believe, is a positive aspect of the novel, however there would seem to be, at least one, negative aspect to Kesey s choice of narrators. This choice of narrators for Kesey, in my opinion, may be considered troublesome. He seems to ask the reader to trust the voice of a madman. This seems to do anything but create a narrator who is trustworthy. Upon rereading the Nest, I found myself doubting the narrator because he seems to be inconsistent. In the first section of the ... I also enjoy how the setting can give insight to how the author was feeling and thinking while writing. Settings also help develop the themes of the work and provide the reader with the ability to understand the story. I have found that I am draw towards stories of which are set in the natural world. I think this is mostly due to my love of nature and the outdoors. The three works that I chose to look at are The White Heron , Loveliest of trees, the cherry now , and Acquainted with the Night . • 40. The Importance Of Clean Drinking Water In India One of the biggest challenges facing the world today is the emphasis on providing clean water to everyone throughout the world. This is a fairly easy task in wealthier countries with strong central governments which establish regulations on how waterways are maintained and treated, however in developing countries like India the task is insurmountable. With India s population soon to surpass China by 2022 , there is a huge concern in the lack of clean drinking water for many of their citizens (Riley, 2015). If India s population is going to continue to rise at the rates it is experiencing today, the government must create more initiatives to alter the poor hygiene practices by its citizens, to ensure everyone has access to clean drinking water. One of the biggest problems facing India s access to clean water is the practice of improper hygiene, which is seen from the astronomical amount of people that presently practice open defecation or someone defecating outside in the open. The practice stems from early human civilization, but without much emphasis on the problem over the past century, it has continued to rise with India s rising population. In India, a staggering 522 million of their citizens practice open defecation (India, n.d.). This is an extreme cause for concern in a country that has such a dense population due to its population size compared to the countries overall size. What this entails is that even if the amount of people who practice open defecation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
