Merchant of Venice Essay
Defeating the enemy, light heartedness, and a happy ending for the lovers are all elements in a
comedic play. William Shakespeare s The Merchant of Venice shows that love conquers all and
that you can always defeat the enemy. Even if a pound of flesh is the difference between life and
death, or if one wrong person chooses the casket that decides your fate. For example, The Merchant
of Venice, Antonio, not only survives the fate of having a pound of his flesh taken from his body
on account of his friend that could not repay the bond to a man who is seen as the devil, but gets
thrice his money back and the villain is taken down. Not to mention that Antonio s best friend,

Bassanio still has not the money to pay Shylock, so he tells Portia. She has no problem paying the
bond and says, Pay him six thousand, and deface the bond;/ Double six thousand, and then treble
that, (3.2.298 299). With that, Bassanio has a chance to save his friend s life, and pay back the
Jew. At the time of the trial Antonio feels ready to except his fate, to give in to the villain.
Antonio says his last words to Bassanio, but when Shylock starts to prepare to cut into Antonio
the judge (who is really Portia in disguise) presents a reason why Shylock may not take Antonio s

2.3.2 VLSM (Variable Length Subnet Mask)
A Variable Length Subnet Mask (VLSM) is a means of allocating IP addressing resources to
subnets according to their individual need rather than some general network wide rule.
VLSM allows an organization to use more than one subnet mask within the same network address
space. It is often referred to as subnetting a subnet , and can be used to maximize addressing
efficiency.

Federal Express Case
Company Analysis:
Courier Pak is an underrated service that is provided by FEC. Its profit margin is higher than all
the other services provided (66%), and has huge growth potential. It has both great speed and
reliability, making a service worth promoting.
Customer Analysis:
Currently, executives and their assistants are mainly using CP. The top three industries that use CP
are Manufacturing and distribution, Advertising, and Printing and publishing. According to Exhibit
6, the market size of emergency, rush, or special handling delivery of small items/documents was
around 870,000 per day.
CPs are economically viable. Sales currently average ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Adding 4700 more daily CP would amount to $38,775 in profits per day, assuming a profit margin
$8.25.
Competition:
Competition for CP lies in the Emergency and Rush services. Emergency services received
maximum speed and was the most costly. Purolator Courier Corporation, Shulman Sky Cab, Delta
Dash are all companies that provide the service. However, the average Emergency service cost was
$30, and CPs cost significantly lower. The average Rush cost was around $10, and although CPs
are most expensive, they are at a competitive price by offering competitive advantages. The most
specific service competitor is U.S. Postal Service s Express Mail, which costs $6.00 per package.
How should FEC market CP? Which industries should FEC focus on?
FEC should market to those who are not Executives, as they already have them as customers, but
rather any and all industries. The Manufacturing and Distributing industry uses the most CP
monthly, and we would like to see the other similar industries use just as much. Any industry that
transports small goods can utilize the service.
The 5 minimum purchase costs $62.50, which creates a barrier for those who are willing and able
to send something within a tight time constraint. Envelopes should be provided for free, and
charged upon the actual service of mailing out the package. Corporations enjoy flexibility. We
believe that CPs should be marketed as a product that is great for reliability and speed, making a
point that they

History Of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart ( La Finta Giardiniera )
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (La finta giardiniera)
An opera can be defined as a dram a set of music which is made of vocal pieces having orchestral
accompaniment as well, as orchestral overtures and interludes. In this discussion, I am going to
write about Opera which was written in 1775 by Mozart (La finta giardiniera). The opera is assumed
to be the first opera that was done by Mozart as part of his opera buffa which is of significance.
La finta giardiniera can be translated as The Pretend Garden Girl . The opera was written in
Munich when Mozart was 18 years old and the first performance was done on January 13, 1775,
at the Salvator Theatre in Munich (Cantrell 22, 27). There has been a serious debate on who write
the libretto for the opera with most people ascribing to Calzabigi while others attributing the
libretto to Giuseppe Petrosellini. There are also a lot of questions on whether the style of libretto is
for Giuseppe (Cantrell 53).
Mozart was subjected to write a lavish music and set the severe time limit on mass settings but
he protested doing so but was letter on obliged to observe. At the end of the year, he was
commissioned to write an opera buffa, La finta giardiniera for the Munich carnival season in
1775 where it was success . The commissioning was done by Maximilian III and it was the first
comic opera of Mozart since his childhood. The language that was used in composing the opera
was in Italian but in 1780, Mozart converted it to German Singspiel Die

Disadvantages Of Drinking Water Bottles
Littering is another problem with these bottles. When people get done using them they just throw
them on the ground, for example, if you go to a ball game and you see everyone drinking
Gatorade, soda, or water and then stay after and you will see all those bottles in the bleachers and
on the field from the players. You start to realize that know one really cares about the environment
anyone. Water bottles or just bottles in general are a big cause on the environment. Although many
people do not care, littering causes a lot of harm to the environment and not many people realize it.
Even though drinking bottlewater is widely known as a good choice for your health it comes with
great conflicts. Many schools all around sell bottles of water out of vending machines, although this
can be a bad thing for the environment, but it also helps students from drinking sugary soda. Even
though there are benefits to drinking and using bottled water, there are also many drawbacks.
Bottled water can be healthy, but also just drinking from a water fountain can help yourself and the
environment. Not many people want to drink community fountains because of the germs and all the
people that use them. Even though water is a great need for humans, they normally want to go the
easy way; the bottled water way. Water fountains do have many causes of them, germs that it
collects, and some even lack filtration systems. Bottled water and other plastics can have many
effects, although people have

What Is The Primary Underlying Cause Of The Armenian...
I. The primary underlying cause of the Armenian genocide derived from the decline of the Ottoman
Empire towards the end of the 19th century, and was based on land dispute, religion, and ultra
nationalism. One of the main factors that led to the Armenian genocide is to be found in the mental
conditions and characteristics of Turkish National identity (Akçam, 2004, 59). The Armenians
have claimed their home in the southern Caucasus since 7th Century BCE. Throughout many
centuries, the Mongol, Persian, Russian, and Ottoman empires have fought over this region. Due to
the Armenians lack of unity and strength, they could not claim their lands any longer. They were
weak in relation to their conflicting neighbors, and were often deported from the very lands they
first lived in. Constant deportations over history eventually led them to many different parts of the
world, forming what is the Armenian diaspora. Ever since the 4th Century CE, the Armenian state
claimed Christianity as their official religion. Even after Islam was founded in the 7th century CE
and became the state religion in all of the countries surrounding Armenia, the Armenians still held
onto the Christian faith. Since Christianity was a religious minority at the time, Armenians were
viewed as infidels , and were disposed to unjust treatment as a result. They experienced hardship,
religious persecution, discrimination, and abuse. Armenians began to pay higher taxes and had

India s A Growing Economic System
For this research report, I want to further the understanding of the Indian attitude, external
opportunities and threats of entrepreneurship, and how the International world and India is
progressing with entrepreneurs. I have an interest in being in working internationally, after gaining
more experience in the corporate/sales area of a company, which is one of the reasons I chose to
explore this topic on an international level. This paper will cover some basics of entrepreneurship
in India.
In India they have a growing economic system. Global Edge states that in 2011, India s estimated

Although India has some of the biggest billionaires living there, more than 30% 50% of the
people in India live below the poverty line on about 50 cents a day. It is a high poverty rate, the
highest among all the BRIC countries. In India this problem is growing and becoming more
unbalanced. This is an issue because of the caste system in India. This castes system makes it
extremely difficult for one to change social classes. Women also have a problem when trying to
break into the workplace, because it is something that is seen as taboo. I recall in a TED TALK
that was shown in a class of mine, it showed how women and lower class citizens of India were
learning about IT and how they were being taught simple key logging types of work in hopes of
the availability of the jobs will help balance the distribution of income through the lower classes.
The key sectors of the company in India are listed as agriculture (17.4%), industry (25.8%), and
services (56.9%). Many belonging to the lower class in India are farmers and they spend quite
some time selling their produce which proves to be a difficult tasks since many rural areas do not
have the means to provide efficient transportation (i.e. underdeveloped roads). Because of this,
many of their produce go bad/expire before they make it to the market. The main agricultural
products that are produced in India are rice, wheat, oilseed, cotton, jute, tea, sugarcane, lentils,

Title: Is Invisalign Right for You?
Straight teeth are associated with everything from a better social life, better employment
opportunities, and a higher self esteem. Even so, there is typically hesitation from most adults who
do not want the time and financial expense necessary to invest in braces, especially when their first
thought turns to traditional metal braces. New technology, though, like Invisalign, has helped to
make straight teeth a possibility for individuals who want discreet and effective treatment options.

Challenges of Invisalign
For the treatment to be successful, patients need to commit to wearing the aligning trays for the pre
set number of hours each day. Without wearing the trays, patients won t have see the anticipated in
the expected time period.
The trays need to be removed for eating, drinking, and some sports, while traditional braces are
affixed to the teeth and not removed until the end of treatment.
Every two weeks, patients will have a new series of trays. Visits to the provider won t happen that
frequently, but they will need to be regularly checked to make sure the teeth are moving into the
proper places.
There are a few cases in which Invisalign is not the best method to treat or correct a dental
condition.
Often, Invisalign has a higher cost involved than traditional braces, however, there can be, and are,
many exceptions.
Invisalign is regularly updating and improving the technology, and dentists and orthodontists who
are not regularly staying informed on the improvements may have a more challenging time
achieving the desired results.

Taking a Look at the Manhattan Project
Although the Manhattan project was a bomb it was the psychological effects of the two bomb
droppings that did more damage than the actual destruction caused. The projected was started
through United States concern that the Germans were developing a similar weapon. It was kept
a well guarded secret and when it was used for the first time on a city caused a horrible shock.
The decision to use the bomb was not made lightly and had many different reasons behind it. It
was made especially hard after seeing the actual destruction it could cause because unveiling the
technology would lead to others wanting to replicate it. In the end though it was used on Japan and
though it caused less damage than previous air raids it lead to their surrender. While nuclear fission
was believed to be possible in Germany since 1938 it was not put into actionin the United States
until 1943. That year Allied scientists created a plan to use the fission to build an atomic bomb
before the Germans could. In early 1939 word spread like wildfire that Germany had learned hot to
split an atom. The fears this struck in the scientific community encouraged scientist, like Albert
Einstein, who fled Nazi persecution, and Enrico Fermi, who escaped Fascist Italy, to approach the
President. They wanted to express the dangers of the technology and to urge him to start an atomic
research program in the United States. Fermi decided to travel to Washington only to be faced with
the fact that no one else felt the

Plagiarism And The Consequences Of Plagiarism
In this paper we will cover plagiarism. We will cover a brief history of plagiarism and look at the
different types of plagiarism, as well as compare and contrast the different types. We will also
look at who is most prone to plagiarize and why. We will also discuss the role plagiarism plays in
academia and the consequences to plagiarizing. Webster s online Dictionary defines plagiarismas to
steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one s own: use (another s production) without
crediting the source [... or] to commit literary theft: present as new and original an idea or
product derived from an existing source. Many people believe that plagiarism is a relatively
new concept that came about as technology became more and more accessible, however this is
not the case. It is said that Shakespeare s plays are not his own work. Shakespeare traveled to
different regions and heard folk tales and stories from the people that lived in these areas and
wrote down what the people were saying and wrote it in play form. He tweaked the stories so
that they may be relatable to the English men and women that would attend his plays. Even
though Shakespeare s works are not his own, he is one of, if not the most recognized playwright
in the history of play writers. According to Turnitin.com there are 10 different types of plagiarism.
These 10 types of plagiarism are: clone, hybrid, ctrl c, mashup, find replace, 404 error, remix,

The Chocolate War And An Absolute Diary Of A Part Time Indian
When people think about tribalism, they usually associate it with a strong possession of a cultural
or ethnical identity. Tribalism can take many forms. For example, it can refer to popular culture in
which people are exhibiting loyalty to their social group. Certainly, there are positive and negative
perspectives to either side. When reading The Chocolate War and An Absolute
Diary of A Part Time
Indian, I experienced both sides of tribalism. When, reading An Absolute Diary of A Part Time
Indian, by Sherman Alexie, I saw how the protagonist Arnold was able to gain support from his
tribes while discovering strengths inside of himself that he never knew existed. In comparison, I
discovered while reading The Chocolate War, by Robert Cormier, the protagonist Jerry had the
foundations of support, but it ended up crumbling when he needed the support the most. Why was
Arnold able to become an individual while being a member of numerous tribes, when Jerry s tribes
didn t support him for being an individual?
Jerry, a freshman who comes into Trinity and is able to throw off its balance. He is able to defy
the Vigils and that action alone is huge, because no one has ever dared to defy them before
because the Vigils are their own tribe at Trinity. Jerry is able to disturb the tribe and almost rally
supporters behind him, but it doesn t last very long and Jerry is singled out by the Vigils. Jerry

Machiavelli s Flaws In The Prince
his work, The Prince, Machiavelli references dozens of infamous men and women who are leaders
and rulers in their own right. However, he recognizes them for many failures rather than for their
successes and conquests. Machiavelli attributes the failure and blame entirely to the fact that none
of the mentioned individuals properly adhered to his rules . Machiavelli meticulously describes and
outlines his ideas of what essential Prince qualities are, hoping that someone who reads them will
follow his words and turn them into actions. A careful audience who reads the meaning and not just
the content will see that The Princeis simply Machiavelli carrying out his plan by covertly doing
everything he describes in his outline. That is what makes it quite clear that Machiavelli himself is...

Machiavelli is not only the Prince but is drawing a comparison of himself to God. He is the
source of the reader s lawgiving to others by implementing new modes and orders via the person
or people who follows his word. He also mentions that Moses had so great a teacher (23). The
teacher in this case would be Machiavelli. In chapter 26 it is mentioned that Moses greatness
came as a resolution to tragedy, those enslaved in Egypt (102). That can be compared to the
conflicts going in Italy during his time, and is Machiavelli compelling another to show greatness
if they follow his orders and fix the problem. The audience, if following his advice, is
comparable to Moses due to the lack of greatness that is actually brought upon by their own doing.
Machiavelli stresses the importance of the Prince getting someone else to do their dirty deeds for
them. This is exactly what the purpose of The Prince was, to get another person to take these
words of wisdom and execute them without any blood on Machiavelli s

The Growth Of Emerging Markets
1.Introduction
The last decade has seen an increase in internationalisation from emerging market multinationals
(EMNCs), through outward foreign direct investment (OFDI). This internationalisation
phenomenon, has led to increase interest from researchers in the international business discipline
(Cavusgil, 1980; Hoskisson, Eden, Lau, Wright, 2000; Jormanainen Koveshnikov, 2012). In 2013,
emerging economies invested $553 billion, representing 39% of global OFDI, compared with only
12% at the beginning of the 2000 (UNCTAD, 2014). These trends are consistent across different
emerging market sub regions, as organisations that are aggressively investing are doing so not only
from large emerging economies like China, India, Brazil, and Russia but also from a number of new
emerging economies in Asia, Latin America and Africa (Gammeltoft, Pradhan, Goldstein, 2010;
Goldstein Bonaglia, 2007). Emerging markets (EM) are seen generally as low income, rapid growth
countries using economic liberalisation as their primary engine of growth (Hoskisson et al., 2000).
The economic liberalisation or open policies adopted by these emerging markets during the last two
decades has led organisations from these economies to internationalize or seek markets abroad.
Emerging markets are known to be heterogeneous in their level of development and environmental
surroundings (Bianchi, 2014). Each manifests different starting points or different stages of

The Issue Of Euthanasia
Living in the twenty first century we have seen many great strides in the advancement of
medicine and life sustaining technologies. These advances have resulted in improved life
expectancies and quality of life for people around the globe. These medical improvements have
raised questions about the appropriateness of life sustaining treatments in the case of people who
are terminally ill and experiencing severe pain and suffering. Are we robbing people of a dignified
deathby artificially maintaining their bodily systems? Should we really prolong life because we
fear death, even though the patients themselves may be ready to die? These questions have
received a great deal of attention in recent years, and many people are looking toward euthanasiafor
the answer.
Euthanasia is the practice of painlessly putting to death people who have incurable, painful, or
distressing diseases or handicaps. It comes from the Greek words for good and death, and is
commonly called mercy killing. It may occur when incurably ill people ask their physician or a
relative or even a friend to put them to death. There are two procedural classifications of
euthanasia. Active euthanasia refers to someone taking active steps to give a dying person their
final request, a lethal dosage of drugs in order to accelerate death. This is illegal in the United
States, Canada, and almost all other countries. Most religious groups consider it to be a form of
suicide or murder and thus immoral.

article Please Like Me: Facebook and Public Health Communication , it is mentioned that public
health organizations have recently recognized that they can utilize social media sites such as
Facebook to engage their target population (Kite, Foley, Grunseit Freeman, 2016). Kite et al.
further describe the benefits of using social media for health communication, which include the
ability to make health information more available, sharable, and tailored; to provide peer, social,

idea of receiving health information through social media. Using social media sites as

Playing the piano is a meaningful leisure time activity for John so it is important he continues to do
this to promote social inclusion, physical exercise, boost his self esteem and to make that spiritual
connection.
Key factors which may impact on the John s occupational performance
This inflammatory incurable disease Rheumatoid Arthritis came as a surprise to John as he had
never experienced such an excruciating pain in his joints. Pain initially started in his left hand
and the next day he suffered from the same excruciating pain in his right hand. This really
disturbed him as he had no idea what to do with it. The pain was absolutely excruciating that he
decided to see a doctor and seek medical advice. His doctor was also confused and just
recommended him some Analgesic or Paracetamol tablets to mitigate the pain. This indicates that
John has led a healthy life in his past and has good medical record, since he was experiencing this
kind of disease for the first time in his life; his doctor was unable to learn about his condition in
the first place (Charmaz, pp.976 993).
John went home and took some tablets which relieved him at that particular time. Since the disease
is incurable and chronic, the excruciating pain in his joints surfaced again, this time with more
intensity as it almost locked him up solid by stiffening up his

Most People In This World Have Gone Through Some Sort Of
Most people in this world have gone through some sort of journey or challenge to help them grow
as a human being. So, that is why in both Cathedral written by Raymond Carver and The Island
written by Caspian Tredwell Owen we see character development and growth, because it is easy to
relate to as a reader. While there is some difference between Cathedral and The Island that are
evident, the similarities are pronounced by the journey and challenges to self discovery of the
characters and confronting the unknown. Even though the journey is different for the narrator in
Cathedral than Lincoln Six Echo and Jordan Two Delta in The Island. That journey created growth

Sometimes led by seeing eye dogs. A blind man in my house was not something I looked forward
to. (Carver 200).
We realize that the narrator did not think much of Robert even before he has ever met him. After
meeting him and trying to draw the cathedral, he was told by Robert to close his eyes and
continue. At the end, we can see the growth of the narrator and his feeling towards Robert and
blind men in general. When he s told to open his eyes:
Well? he said. Are you looking?
My eyes were still closed. I was in my house. I knew that. But I didn t feel like I was inside
anything.
It s really something, I said. (Craver 210)
Here we see the narrator starting to feel sympathetic in a way. Trying to put himself in Roberts
shoes, which has shown that he has come a long way in self discovery since the start of the story.
In the movie, The Island the characters Lincoln Six Echo and Jordan Two Delta develop from very
simple character thinking they are going to an island. Instead they had to start learning about how
to live in the real world and learn why they were created. When we meet both Lincoln and Jordan
they think they are living in a world during an apocalypse and that there is a lottery that sends
them to an island. This island allegedly has not been affected by the apocalypse. Once they find
out that most of what they have been told their whole life has been a lie, Lincoln looked to get out
and bring Jordan with him. Once they were able to leave the

The Influence of TV Advertisements on the Buying Behavior...
Introduction Advertisements are cost effective ways to disseminate messages with a view to
build a brand preference or to educate people (Kotler Keller, 2006). The majority of the
marketers use mass media for their marketing communications. The choice of media is dependent
upon the nature of the message and the intended target audience (Etzel et al, 2008). Television is
generally acknowledged as the most powerful advertising medium. The wide reach translates to
low cost per exposure (Kotler Keller, 2006). Over a longer period of time, the TV set has become
a permanent fixture in all upper and middle class households, and it is not uncommon even in the
poorer society of urban areas and rural households (Shah D Souza, 2008). India is... Show more

The television medium is the most attractive and important place to advertise (Chandok, 2005).
Selvaraj (2007) observed that 70% population of India constitutes rural sector. Thus, it can be said
the marketers and advertisers who are having eyes on this market, must perceive opportunities to
target rural consumers of India. Kaur and Kaur (2002) explored fashion awareness among rural and
urban adolescents. They observed that television is the most important media of information
regarding fashion awareness among rural and urban respondents. With the population of over one
billion, India is on the threshold of becoming one of the world s foremost consumer markets. About
a quarter of this huge mass of consumers is urbanized and about three quarter are rural (Sehrawet
Kundu, 2007). Most South Asian respondents consider advertisements pleasurable, informative and
economically beneficial (Ramaprasad, 2001). One can attribute positive attitude to India being an
emerging market where anything new is fit for consumption (Saxena, 2005). Rising per capita
income, increasing expenditure, shift from lower to middle and middle to upper income group,
changing lifestyle, changing consumption pattern, and changing aspirations are the new features

I’m Proud to be Lefthanded Essay
One in 10 people reading this is left handed. There are nearly 34 million of us living in the United
States, and about 500 million in the world. Throughout history, though, lefties have been looked
down upon.
Centuries ago, the Catholic Church declared that left handed people were servants of the devil.
The word left comes from the Old English word meaning weak and worthless. In the 1600s in
Europe, lefties were burned at the stake for alleged witchcraft and sorcery.
Just a generation ago, American parents tried to change their children s left handedness, even going
to the extreme of tying their child s left hand behind his back to keep him from using it. Teachers

Famous leftie artists include Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Pablo Picasso and Lewis Caroll.
And, although they have trouble with a backward guitar, many musicians are also among us:
Beethoven, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Jimi Hendrix, Paul Simon, Kurt Cobain and Billy Corgan.
Southpaw athletes, mainly baseball stars, include Babe Ruth, Barry Bonds, Reggie Jackson, Ken
Griffey Jr. and Larry Bird. (Sportswriter Charles Seymour invented the term southpaw when he
noticed that lefty pitchers throw from the south side of the mound.)
Furthermore, geniuses and icons like Albert Einstein, Aristotle, Isaac Newton, Joan of Arc, Ben
Franklin, Mark Twain, Julius Caesar, Napoleon and Henry Ford were lefties. Of 42 American
presidents, seven have been lefties.
But, some of the superstitions may be true, since lefties also include Billy the Kid, the Boston
Strangler and Jack the Ripper.
Studies have shown that a child with two right handed parents has only a 2 percent chance of
being left handed. A child with one right handed parent and one lefty has a 17 percent chance, and
with two lefties for parents, the child has a 42 percent chance of being a lefty. Also, men are three
times as likely to be lefties as women. One more fun fact: left handedness is twice as common
among twins as single births.

Film Review of Blades of Glory Essay
Blades of Glory, directed by Josh Gordon and Will Speck, is a hilarious comedy that turns figure
skating into one big joke. This movie was so over the top, it was over over the top, but it kept
the whole theater laughing throughout the entire movie, which is exactly what it was made to do.
The movie s plot is not very intricate, but it really doesn t need to be. It s about 2 Men s Singles
Figure Skaters that are the complete opposites of each other. Chazz Michael Michaels (Will Ferrell)
is the notorious bad boy in figure skating, he s very sexual and all the ladies swoon over him.
Jimmy MacElroy (Jon Heder) is the good boy that pays attention to technical detail and precision.

They fight again and both get arrested. Jimmy s former coach (Craig T. Nelson) ends up getting
them out of jail and recommends they be partners. Both say no at first, but they end up doing it,
bickering and fighting the entire time. They sign up for the Olympic try out, which causes a stir in
all the news and gets under the skin of the main Doubles Skaters, Stranz and Fairchild Van
Waldenberg (Will Arnett and Amy Poehler
). Both Doubles teams make it to the Olympics, and the
Van Waldenberg s do everything in their power to ensure they come out with the Gold Medal.
They cheat, spy, and try to harm Chazz and Jimmy, but are unsuccessful. Chazz and Jimmy make
it in times to skate during their turn, and perform stunts that have never been done successfully
before. They end up winning the Gold Medal and the Van Waldenberg s end up getting arrested.
As mentioned before, the plot is not very intricate. And you basically know the ending of the
film before it even starts. But it doesn t matter because everything that happens in the movie is
just so funny. For example, seeing Will Ferrell on ice skates and thought of as a sex symbol was
hilarious on its own because its so ridiculous. But then having Craig T. Nelson playing a character
simply called Coach , Jimmy having a gay stalker that says he will kill Jimmy one day to his face,
a former professional ice skater, Scott Hamilton, actually acting

greatness in the new generation, as they were the key to improving America. Kennedy wanted to
create peace, discover new sciences, and end the ongoing feud with the Soviet Union. Once the

because the country was only 90 miles away. The actions the President had taken for the two

popular with many citizens in the U.S., but he posed as a threat to some.
Lee Harvey Oswald, the man to take responsibility for Kennedy s death, was a former Marine in
the United States, but left after two court maintained reports of violence and withholding illegal
firearms. He later moved to Russia so he could take part in the Soviet Union s actions. Under
strict supervision, the government of Russia finally allowed him to live in the city of Minsk. In
1962, he returned to the United States with his new wife Marina Prusakova and got a job
working at the Texas School Book Depository in Dallas, the building where Oswald will shoot

change the United States for the better. Lee Harvey Oswald s interest in the idea of communism
continued to grow stronger, directing his feelings towards Cuba for support. Oswald s stand

Was nothing real? the question Truma asked after he came to the realization that he was living in a

Adams contended that it is riches or the absence of it which makes imbalance, particularly in
America, and in this way called Jefferson s promise for human fairness an unthinkable dream.
Along these lines, for Adams, the wellspring of the issue was not European feudalism, but instead
human intuition. Humorously, the slave populace of the South was an excellent illustration of
feudalism, one in which Jefferson joined in even as he assaulted the thought of feudalism.
Jefferson denounced Adams for tending to dam the dynamic legacy the region of republican

Should the Federal Government continue funding Planned Parenthood? Planned Parenthood is an

believe that Planned Parenthood is a wonderful association that helps women and men all around

ADI Egg Lab Report
ADI Egg Lab Ritika Sharma
Section 1:
During the egg lab there was one guiding question we were trying to figure out. Which was what
effect do different solutions (maple syrup, mouth wash, and saltwater) have on cell size? Before we
started this lab we had to have our background information which was osmosis is when water
moves from a high concentration to a low concentration through a membrane. We also had to
know that hypotonic is when water is moving into the cell and the cell swells/expands.
Hypertonic is when water is moving out of the cell and the cell is shrinking. Isotonic is when an
equal amount of water is moving in and out of the cell at the same rate. The goal of the experiment

The guiding question relates to our background info because in order to know the effect the
different solution had on the cell size we had to know our terminology, which was included in the
background information.
Section2:
For this lab we had to follow certain procedures. We had to first gather 3 eggs and 3 cups. Put
one egg in each cup then we had to get the 3 solutions that were being used for the experiment,
which was mouthwash, syrup, and salt water. We labeled the cups for which solution went
which what egg and then we had to measure each egg before putting it in the substance for 24
hours. To measure we got a string and wrapped it around each egg to get its circumference then
we took that measurement(the circumference of the string) and converted the string to a ruler to
find out the circumference. We did that for all three eggs and recorded that data down. Then we
put the eggs into their cup marked with their solution and waited 24 hours to record the data
again. We then got another egg for our control and measured it the same way as the other eggs
and put in water for 24 hours. The reason we used this set of procedures is so our experiment

The Miranda rights that police are required to give persons they are about to arrest did not

Observation Of A Korean Restaurant
SEOUL KIMCHI
I have been interested in Korean culture since high school. Therefore, I chose to observe a Korean
restaurant in Manchester. I visited Seoul Kimchi in Upper Brook Street twice on Thursday, 5pm to
6pm and Saturday 1.30pm to 2.30pm.
Seoul Kimchi is located in a strategic location. Vehicles heading to the city from Wilmslow Road
pass Upper Brook Street, so it is a busy road. The restaurant is white in colour so it is easily
differentiated among other restaurants in the block like Subway and Zaytoon. It is a small shop
accommodating 20 people at one time. During both period I visited, almost all seats are
occupied. The restaurant workforce consists of four chefs (three male and one female), a
dishwasher, waiter, and waitress. All chefs wore white as in most restaurants and attendants wore
black. It reminds me of Harley Davidson riders who wear black as they do not show any dirt.
Perhaps the same belief applies here as restaurant attendants should look clean all the time.
The menu was bilingual (English and Korean) to cater all nationality but customers often ask
further details such as the ingredients of the food. Customers especially non Korean must feel
insecure eating food outside their culture so they ask for assurance. The situation implies that
customers seriously care about what they consume especially food. When ordering, I noticed
customers would point on the menu for a smoother communication with the waiter. Hence, human

Informative Speech On Thyroid Gland
Did you know that every cell of the human body has thyroid hormone receptors? They re intricately
woven into the DNA. So, if you think about it, the thyroid gland basically has control of the entire
body. As part of the endocrine system, the thyroid secretes hormones directly into the bloodstream,
and these hormones are responsible for regulating many bodily functions. It controls the body s
metabolism, protein synthesizing, energy consumption, and the functions of other vital organs.
Want to know more about the thyroid? Read on to know more facts about the thyroid gland:
The thyroid is a butterfly shaped gland situated in the neck. It has two lobes that expand on either

It uses iodine to produce T4 and T3, the thyroid hormones. Iodine is found in seafood, plants
grown on iodine rich soil, and iodized salt. The gland also gets its cue from the brain. The pituitary
gland secretes Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) and the thyroid responds to it.
The thyroid is sensitive to environmental toxins. Frequent exposure to toxins like plastic
compounds, pesticides, and heavy metal can cause goiter, a condition where the neck or larynx
swells due to the enlargement of the thyroid gland.
The thyroid also plays a hand in controlling the calcium level in your blood. The C cells, a small
group of cells located in the thyroid gland, secrete the hormone called calcitonin, which controls
calcium level.
The thyroid s health is dependent on a number of vitamins and minerals. Including iodine, the
thyroid needs Vitamin A, Vitamin D, B Vitamins, selenium, and zinc. A well balanced diet is
necessary to supply the thyroid with these vitamins and minerals.
Hyperthyroidism is a condition where the thyroid gland is overactive. It s often caused by Graves
Disease, an autoimmune disorder that stimulates the thyroid to overproduce hormones.
Hyperthyroidism is characterized by tremors and increased heart rate, anxiety, restlessness, and

Personal Teaching And Learning Style
Personal Teaching and Learning Style
Chemi Yangzom
Athabasca University
Education benefits individual mentally, emotionally and physically by placing them in better place
than they were previously before. Everybody would agree that learning something new would take
place throughout the life. Learning style defined as A term that describes the variations among
learners in using one or more senses to understand, organize, and retain experience (Reid, 1987, p.
89). Furthermore, Felder and Henriques (1995, p. 21) explained learning styles as the ways in
which an individual characteristically acquires, retains and retrieves information . However,
different learners possess different characteristics and different preferred learning styles to perceive,
process, take in and understand information.
This paper will examine the learning style of the writer and professional teaching philosophy,
apply theories of learning to my philosophy, and provide an example of how my values and
beliefs related to teaching and learning affect my role as a health care professional.
Personal Learning style There are four main types of learning styles: auditory, kinaesthetic, reading
and writing, and visual. Each of these theories describes how learning occurs and has its own
terminology, perceptions on learning and generalities about teaching and learning. My personal
learning style uses a combination of visual, reading, writing and auditory. I prefer using pictures,

The Importance of Responsibility in the Filsm In Fried...
In Fried Green Tomatoes and A River Runs Through It their is a large importance for

with another character named Idgie, both of these characters have a lifelong adventures together. In
A River Runs Through It, there is the main character, Norman, who looks after his younger brother
Paul and tries to keep him out of trouble the best he can. In A River Runs Through It, and Fried
Green Tomatoes, both Ruth and Norman are responsible, although Ruth s responsibilityis more

Through It Norman is responsible to look after his younger brother and be there when his
younger brother needs him. Norman is the responsible brother. It shows how Norman is a more
responsible brother when Paul and Norman go to the bar unknowingly. Norman went with Paul
to the bar until he found out that Paul was up to his head in debt. Norman tells Paul that he
needs to stop and to get in the car and never to come back. Although Paul never went with him, it
showed that Norman was responsible to take his younger brother Paul s problems into his own
hands for a point of time. Normans responsibility is also shown when Norman takes his girlfriend
s Jessie s brother out to fish. Taking Jessie s brother out to fish was very difficult for Norman

Animal Experimentation And The Animal Welfare Act
Miriam Rothschild once said, None of my teachers, lecturers, or professors... ever suggested that
one should respect the lives of animals in the laboratory or that they, and not the experiments,
however fascinating and instructive, were worthy of greater consideration (1986, p. 50). 95% of
animals used in experiments are not protected by the federal Animal Welfare Act. This law excludes
animals such as birds, mice, and rats that are bred primarily for research purposes. The Animal
Welfare Act regulates the housing and transportation of animals, but no rule or regulation exists that
restricts the actual research or experimentation of these animals. Animal experimentation has
heavily contributed to the advancement of the medical field, but precautions need to be taken to
ensure the safety of these animals.
The majority of the population is not aware of what actually goes on during animal research and
experimentation. A lot of the times animal experimentation can be painful, brutal and unnecessary.
One example would be at the University of Pittsburgh. In 1984 a small group snuck into the section
of the University where head trauma was being researched. It was no ordinary research, baboons
were the main subjects in many of their studies and experiments. This group was part of the Animal
Liberation Front, or ALF. The Animal Liberation Front is simply the name adopted by people
acting illegally in behalf of animal rights (PETA). Many ALF members engage in laboratory raids

How To Keep Running-Personal Narrative
Prologue: I have to keep running. The pain in my body is infuriating but I need to keep running
because if I don t they ll catch me and if they catch me they ll do things of unspeakable horror. I
can still hear the screams of Giuseppe inside the bunker it terrifies me to even muster the thought
of what they might do to me but that doesn t matter right now, I need to keep on going. Dort ist er
schnell, bevor er entflieht !!! They ve found me. Behind me I hear the sounds of feet hitting the dirt
chasing me up the mountains of Monte Grappa, I start running even faster now, even though i m
past my limit the cuts, gashes, wounds, and bruises I received from my previous torture hurt more
than I ever could ve imagined. I wonder what s better, the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

We seem to be at the advantage because the Hungarians have had to retreat at least twice now
and as we are about to enter our third and hopefully final battle in our homeland of Italy I may
finally be able to return home. But I didn t come to this war alone, my best friend since grade
school Giuseppe Romano, he s sort of like a brother to me we ve been through alot together, like
the time those bullies tried to gang up on me after school and he was the one to come and help
me and together we taught those bullies a thing or two. So either way war is just an added
bonus, but at first I was excited to go into the war with my best friend and help the allied forces,
but even then I was a little nervous because well it s war ! You never know how or when you ll
lose your life if you are unfortunate enough to. It was a regular day, well as regular as it s going to
get when you ve been in war for almost 3 years, Giuseppe had woken me up from my sleep
telling me that our commander wanted to speak to my team and I, my team consisted of a few
members myself, Giuseppe, Luca, and Gatz no one actually knows his real name he doesn t talk
much but he s a damn good shooter I ll tell ya he supports the team in a big way. So what is this all
about? I asked Giuseppe as we

Symbolism of Mount Rushmore Essay
The View from Mount Rushmore
Amidst the Black Hills of South Dakota, the faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson,
Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln watch over the nation. George Washington, often called
the father of the nation, was a leader in the American Revolutionary War to win independence from
Great Britain and later became the first president of the United States. Thomas Jefferson wrote the
Declaration of Independence and added territory that doubled the size of the nation through the
Louisiana Purchase. Theodore Roosevelt demonstrated strength, sought to improve the country
through the Progressive movement, and constructed the Panama Canal (Nsp.gov). Abraham Lincoln
sought to keep the country united during the Civil ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ideographs function to elicit emotion from the public through their association to common
concepts and their application to different societal issues. Words like freedom and democracy
act as ideographs in that they have certain connotations and that are then manipulated according
to the cultural situation. An ideograph as outlined by McGee has four critical characteristics: it
is able to warrant power or guide behavior; it is used in political discourse; it is an abstraction
representing collective commitment; and it is culture bound (205 209). Janis L. Edwards and
Carol K. Winkler in their study Representative Form and the Visual Ideograph: The Iwo Jima
Image in Editorial Cartoons argue against Michael McGee s belief that ideographs are limited to
verbal language (198 212). They protest that visual images can also be used as ideographs
because they fulfill McGee s formulated features of an ideograph and are not merely icons,
which are visual representations of words that always symbolize the same concept or idea. The
utilization of Mount Rushmore in editorial cartoons functions as an example of a visual
ideograph as distinguished by Edwards and Winkler. Through an analysis of editorial cartoons
with the Mount Rushmore image, I will provide further evidence to Edwards s and Winkler s
claim that visual images can exist as ideographs by fulfilling the major characteristics of an
ideograph as defined by McGee.

Purolator Courier Corporation, Shulman Sky Cab, Delta Dash are all companies that provide the service. However, the average Emergency service cost was $30, and CPs cost significantly lower. The average Rush cost was around $10, and although CPs are most expensive, they are at a competitive price by offering competitive advantages. The most specific service competitor is U.S. Postal Service s Express Mail, which costs $6.00 per package. How should FEC market CP? Which industries should FEC focus on? FEC should market to those who are not Executives, as they already have them as customers, but rather any and all industries. The Manufacturing and Distributing industry uses the most CP monthly, and we would like to see the other similar industries use just as much. • 6. History Of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart ( La Finta Giardiniera ) Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (La finta giardiniera) An opera can be defined as a dram a set of music which is made of vocal pieces having orchestral accompaniment as well, as orchestral overtures and interludes. In this discussion, I am going to write about Opera which was written in 1775 by Mozart (La finta giardiniera). The opera is assumed to be the first opera that was done by Mozart as part of his opera buffa which is of significance. La finta giardiniera can be translated as The Pretend Garden Girl . The opera was written in Munich when Mozart was 18 years old and the first performance was done on January 13, 1775, at the Salvator Theatre in Munich (Cantrell 22, 27). There has been a serious debate on who write the libretto for the opera with most people ascribing to Calzabigi while others attributing the libretto to Giuseppe Petrosellini. There are also a lot of questions on whether the style of libretto is for Giuseppe (Cantrell 53). Mozart was subjected to write a lavish music and set the severe time limit on mass settings but he protested doing so but was letter on obliged to observe. At the end of the year, he was commissioned to write an opera buffa, La finta giardiniera for the Munich carnival season in 1775 where it was success . The commissioning was done by Maximilian III and it was the first comic opera of Mozart since his childhood. The language that was used in composing the opera was in Italian but in 1780, Mozart converted it to German Singspiel Die ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although many people do not care, littering causes a lot of harm to the environment and not many people realize it. Even though drinking bottlewater is widely known as a good choice for your health it comes with great conflicts. Many schools all around sell bottles of water out of vending machines, although this can be a bad thing for the environment, but it also helps students from drinking sugary soda. Even though there are benefits to drinking and using bottled water, there are also many drawbacks. Bottled water can be healthy, but also just drinking from a water fountain can help yourself and the environment. Not many people want to drink community fountains because of the germs and all the people that use them. • 8. What Is The Primary Underlying Cause Of The Armenian... I. The primary underlying cause of the Armenian genocide derived from the decline of the Ottoman Empire towards the end of the 19th century, and was based on land dispute, religion, and ultra nationalism. One of the main factors that led to the Armenian genocide is to be found in the mental conditions and characteristics of Turkish National identity (AkcМ§am, 2004, 59). The Armenians have claimed their home in the southern Caucasus since 7th Century BCE. Throughout many centuries, the Mongol, Persian, Russian, and Ottoman empires have fought over this region. Due to the Armenians lack of unity and strength, they could not claim their lands any longer. They were weak in relation to their conflicting neighbors, and were often deported from the very lands they first lived in. Constant deportations over history eventually led them to many different parts of the world, forming what is the Armenian diaspora. Ever since the 4th Century CE, the Armenian state claimed Christianity as their official religion. Even after Islam was founded in the 7th century CE and became the state religion in all of the countries surrounding Armenia, the Armenians still held onto the Christian faith. Since Christianity was a religious minority at the time, Armenians were viewed as infidels , and were disposed to unjust treatment as a result. They experienced hardship, religious persecution, discrimination, and abuse. Armenians began to pay higher taxes and had very few political and legal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This castes system makes it extremely difficult for one to change social classes. Women also have a problem when trying to break into the workplace, because it is something that is seen as taboo. Taking a Look at the Manhattan Project Although the Manhattan project was a bomb it was the psychological effects of the two bomb droppings that did more damage than the actual destruction caused. The projected was started through United States concern that the Germans were developing a similar weapon. It was kept a well guarded secret and when it was used for the first time on a city caused a horrible shock. The decision to use the bomb was not made lightly and had many different reasons behind it. It was made especially hard after seeing the actual destruction it could cause because unveiling the technology would lead to others wanting to replicate it. In the end though it was used on Japan and though it caused less damage than previous air raids it lead to their surrender. While nuclear fission was believed to be possible in Germany since 1938 it was not put into actionin the United States until 1943. That year Allied scientists created a plan to use the fission to build an atomic bomb before the Germans could. In early 1939 word spread like wildfire that Germany had learned hot to split an atom. The fears this struck in the scientific community encouraged scientist, like Albert Einstein, who fled Nazi persecution, and Enrico Fermi, who escaped Fascist Italy, to approach the President. Certainly, there are positive and negative perspectives to either side. When reading The Chocolate War and An Absolute Diary of A Part Time Indian, I experienced both sides of tribalism. When, reading An Absolute Diary of A Part Time Indian, by Sherman Alexie, I saw how the protagonist Arnold was able to gain support from his tribes while discovering strengths inside of himself that he never knew existed. • 17. The Growth Of Emerging Markets 1.Introduction The last decade has seen an increase in internationalisation from emerging market multinationals (EMNCs), through outward foreign direct investment (OFDI). This internationalisation phenomenon, has led to increase interest from researchers in the international business discipline (Cavusgil, 1980; Hoskisson, Eden, Lau, Wright, 2000; Jormanainen Koveshnikov, 2012). In 2013, emerging economies invested $553 billion, representing 39% of global OFDI, compared with only 12% at the beginning of the 2000 (UNCTAD, 2014). These trends are consistent across different emerging market sub regions, as organisations that are aggressively investing are doing so not only from large emerging economies like China, India, Brazil, and Russia but also from a number of new emerging economies in Asia, Latin America and Africa (Gammeltoft, Pradhan, Goldstein, 2010; Goldstein Bonaglia, 2007). Emerging markets (EM) are seen generally as low income, rapid growth countries using economic liberalisation as their primary engine of growth (Hoskisson et al., 2000). The economic liberalisation or open policies adopted by these emerging markets during the last two decades has led organisations from these economies to internationalize or seek markets abroad. • 18. The Issue Of Euthanasia Living in the twenty first century we have seen many great strides in the advancement of medicine and life sustaining technologies. These advances have resulted in improved life expectancies and quality of life for people around the globe. These medical improvements have raised questions about the appropriateness of life sustaining treatments in the case of people who are terminally ill and experiencing severe pain and suffering. Are we robbing people of a dignified deathby artificially maintaining their bodily systems? Should we really prolong life because we fear death, even though the patients themselves may be ready to die? These questions have received a great deal of attention in recent years, and many people are looking toward euthanasiafor the answer. Euthanasia is the practice of painlessly putting to death people who have incurable, painful, or distressing diseases or handicaps. It comes from the Greek words for good and death, and is commonly called mercy killing. It may occur when incurably ill people ask their physician or a relative or even a friend to put them to death. There are two procedural classifications of euthanasia. Active euthanasia refers to someone taking active steps to give a dying person their final request, a lethal dosage of drugs in order to accelerate death. This is illegal in the United States, Canada, and almost all other countries. Most religious groups consider it to be a form of suicide or murder and thus immoral. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Furthermore, Felder and Henriques (1995, p. 21) explained learning styles as the ways in which an individual characteristically acquires, retains and retrieves information . However, different learners possess different characteristics and different preferred learning styles to perceive, process, take in and understand information. This paper will examine the learning style of the writer and professional teaching philosophy, apply theories of learning to my philosophy, and provide an example of how my values and beliefs related to teaching and learning affect my role as a health care professional. Personal Learning style There are four main types of learning styles: auditory, kinaesthetic, reading and writing, and visual. Each of these theories describes how learning occurs and has its own terminology, perceptions on learning and generalities about teaching and learning. My personal learning style uses a combination of visual, reading, writing and auditory. I prefer using pictures, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 43. Animal Experimentation And The Animal Welfare Act Miriam Rothschild once said, None of my teachers, lecturers, or professors... ever suggested that one should respect the lives of animals in the laboratory or that they, and not the experiments, however fascinating and instructive, were worthy of greater consideration (1986, p. 50). 95% of animals used in experiments are not protected by the federal Animal Welfare Act. This law excludes animals such as birds, mice, and rats that are bred primarily for research purposes. The Animal Welfare Act regulates the housing and transportation of animals, but no rule or regulation exists that restricts the actual research or experimentation of these animals. Animal experimentation has heavily contributed to the advancement of the medical field, but precautions need to be taken to ensure the safety of these animals. The majority of the population is not aware of what actually goes on during animal research and experimentation. A lot of the times animal experimentation can be painful, brutal and unnecessary. One example would be at the University of Pittsburgh. In 1984 a small group snuck into the section of the University where head trauma was being researched. It was no ordinary research, baboons were the main subjects in many of their studies and experiments. This group was part of the Animal Liberation Front, or ALF. The Animal Liberation Front is simply the name adopted by people acting illegally in behalf of animal rights (PETA). Many ALF members engage in laboratory raids where ... Symbolism of Mount Rushmore Essay The View from Mount Rushmore Amidst the Black Hills of South Dakota, the faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln watch over the nation. George Washington, often called the father of the nation, was a leader in the American Revolutionary War to win independence from Great Britain and later became the first president of the United States. Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence and added territory that doubled the size of the nation through the Louisiana Purchase. Theodore Roosevelt demonstrated strength, sought to improve the country through the Progressive movement, and constructed the Panama Canal (Nsp.gov). Abraham Lincoln sought to keep the country united during the Civil ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ideographs function to elicit emotion from the public through their association to common concepts and their application to different societal issues. Words like freedom and democracy act as ideographs in that they have certain connotations and that are then manipulated according to the cultural situation. An ideograph as outlined by McGee has four critical characteristics: it is able to warrant power or guide behavior; it is used in political discourse; it is an abstraction representing collective commitment; and it is culture bound (205 209). Janis L. Edwards and Carol K. Winkler in their study Representative Form and the Visual Ideograph: The Iwo Jima Image in Editorial Cartoons argue against Michael McGee s belief that ideographs are limited to verbal language (198 212). They protest that visual images can also be used as ideographs because they fulfill McGee s formulated features of an ideograph and are not merely icons, which are visual representations of words that always symbolize the same concept or idea. The utilization of Mount Rushmore in editorial cartoons functions as an example of a visual ideograph as distinguished by Edwards and Winkler. Through an analysis of editorial cartoons with the Mount Rushmore image, I will provide further evidence to Edwards s and Winkler s claim that visual images can exist as ideographs by fulfilling the major characteristics of an ideograph as defined by McGee. ...
