There are many similarities between the constitution and the principles of the Iroquois. Researchers
Vine Deloraia, Bruce Johnson, and Donald Grind have found that the very foundation of both sets
of principles mirror each other (Johansen 1998:79): life, liberty, and happiness (Declaration of
Independence); government by reason and consent rather than coercion (Albany Plan and Articles
of Confederation); religious tolerance (and ultimately religious acceptance) instead of a state
church; checks and balances; federalism (U.S. Constitution); and relative equality of property,
equal rights before the law, and the thorny problem of creating a government that can rule
equitably across a broad geographic expanse (Bill of Rights of the United States Constitution).

There are many themes in the story of The Eyes of the Dragon. One of them is courage; another
is love for one s family. But the one that struck me as the most fascinating and also the most
reoccurring is the theme Good always triumphs over Evil or Good vs. Evil. The devious and evil
Flagg was a baneful monster who had the downfall and corruption of the kingdom of Delain
since the day of Allen II, one of the very early rulers of Delain. He would serve as the ruler s
advisor. The birth of Peter marked the end of his reign. As fate would have it, a small
miscalculation in Flagg s careful planning would be his undoing.
The story is named The Eyes of the Dragon because Thomas s secret. Flagg once showed the
young prince a secret corridor. At the end of this passage was a wall with two small transparent
slits. The slits were the eyes of the dragon, Niner, which was displayed as a prized trophy head in

It was during the time period that Christ was born that the Anasazi Indians appeared in the Four
Corners area which is the area where the boundaries of Arizona, Utah, New Mexico and Colorado
meet. For the over a thousand years the Anasazi thrived and built their homes into the side of
cliffs. These cliff dwellings could only be reached by climbing and made for a great defense
system against enemies; some dwellings reached five stories in height and contained hundreds of
rooms. Many of the elaborate cliff dwellings and terraced apartment houses built of stone, mud, and
wood that dot the Four Cornersregion still stand today and date back to about 9,000 CE., but the
people who comprised this desert culture did not begin to settle into an agricultural lifestyle
until around A.D. 400. The Anasazi, which is a Navajo word meaning the ancient ones , likely
received corn, squash and beans, which are a prime source of protein, added to their diet and the
knowledge to raise them from their southern neighbors in Mexico. Vegetable crops provided a
reliable food source that made an increase in population possible and also allowed time for other
interests such as religion, art, ritual, public works and handicrafts. This allowed the Anasazi
society continued to evolve and progress. The ancient ones also possessed beans, a prime source
of protein and new varieties of corn. Other innovations included the bow and arrow which
eventually replaced spears and at least two varieties of dogs
