Digital Art Analysis
n this paper, I will be analyzing the following piece of digital art. Now the first thing I notice
when I look at this picture is the color, it s mostly calm or cool colors mostly shades of blue or
white. Which can mean many things that this person was feeling calm or was in a relaxed state
while making this piece of digital art . or that he was depressed . The open theme of this picture
brings a sense of calm and peace to me. The what look to be planets surrounding the tower in the
middle also could have multiple meanings for instance they could represent the multiple
possibilities of life or metaphorical worlds such as love life or social world etc... everything in
this picture is taking place above the clouds possibly stating that this individual is above said
problem. Or he has reached a mental state where this doesn t affect him. The architecture gives a
fantasy/historical feeling that swallows you in a calmness. Each individual planet is rotating on a
different axis suggesting different time or different place in the universe.... Show more content on

The artistic quality of the clock and the design of the ceiling and the tower itself fascinates me
because while being very aesthetic it has a certain functionality to it. The sharp metal wrappings
around the staircase give it a fluid look like it it is all moving in one direction. And it has vines
wrapping around it giving it a kind of life about it. Overall the tower shows an artistic value of a
mixture historical art,art that mimics movement and, open art showing a larger

Star Wars Game Analysis
Would you rather be in a dinosaur world or play a game where you are in a battle in Star Wars?
These two things are possible. First up is Ark Survival Evolved . This game is an open world
with almost endless possibilities. There really isn t an objective given to you, players just have to
come up with their own objective. Your own personal objective could be to tame a certain dinosaur
or build your base but first you need to get the supplies to do so. Although there is not an objective
given to you, most people have the goal and that is to stay alive!
Now for Star Wars Battlefront . The objective depends on what gamemode you play. For example,
in one of the gamemodes, you have to defend or attack objectives and those are usually labeled ...

Since the game has a lot less than Ark it doesn t have issues with running slow (if it does run
slow, it is most likely your internet connection). None the less the graphics are very good. With all
the lasers and lights flashing and flying by and the explosion, it makes you feel like you are in the
movie.
Ark Survival Evolved and Star Wars Battlefront are different. Ark has dinosaurs but there isn t
really a time on it because there are guns and turrets but no futuristic stuff. While Star Wars
Battlefront is set in star wars which is along time ago in a galaxy far far away and as everyone
knows is very futuristic. These games are very different. In some ways, though, they are similar.
For example, players can go head to head (or tribe to tribe, because you make or join a tribe in Ark)

Analysis of July at the Multiplex As per your request, we have arranged a report based on the
incident that plaintiff, moviegoer Tommy, has filed a civil complaint about. This incident
involved Tommy s visit to the Royal 16 Theater, your property in the Eastfield Mall, intending to
watch a movie, The Governator. This analysis examines the possibilities and outcomes of the

There is the issue of whether Royal 16 theaters committed fraudulent misrepresentation in not
informing the moviegoers of the commercials that are played at the indicated movie start time
before the actual movie starts. There is also the issue of whether the number of disgruntled
moviegoers is larger or greater than 10%, which would determine whether or not there is great
reason for the complaint. Lastly, there is an ethical issue of whether or not it is or is not ethical to
play 20 minutes of commercials without informing moviegoers that they will be played. In order to
evaluate these issues, our team has done several analysis to come to our conclusions. We have done

In this chapter, I present how two pop cultural sites The film The Kids Are All Right, the television
series The Fosters represent butch motherhood. My intention is to expose the discourses in action
to reveal how they operate and contain instruction that delivers as disciplinary performance. I divide
the following sections into individual discussions of each cultural text to reveal the cogs within
each site. I then compare and contrast both texts to investigate the tensions between both
productions and how the discourses thematically collude. Finally, this comparative analysis
considers the disciplinary discourse that develops in accord with genderand motherhood.

Reinforcing The Gender Binary
Jules and Nic are slightly ambiguous representations of butch and femme yet the film overtly
reinforces binary gender roles in its homonormative depiction of the family. Nic presents a more
masculine identity: she has messy, cropped hair, wears little makeup, and wears relaxed fitting
jeans and button down dress shirts. She is quick to anger, aggressive, a workaholic doctor, and
operates more on conservatism and logic. Nic is both the disciplinarian and breadwinner in the
family. In contrast, Jules is more visually feminized. She has long, smooth red hair, wears sexy lacy
lingerie, and flowy or fitted t shirts. Free spirit Jules is a more liberal. She is the nurturing parent
emotionally sensitive, compassionate and craves intimacy, characteristics that construct the femme
(Martin 1996). These characteristics that construct Jules are antithetical to masculinity (Crewe
2015). These roles suggest that Nic is the man and Jules is the woman. This homonormative
discourse continues throughout the film in a way that Nic becomes dissonant from the role of
mother.
As the man in the relationship, Nic performatively embodies a dominant, masculine fatherly figure
(Fox 4). In postulating a masculinized identity, she reinscribes heteronormative conventions. This is
established early

The Drought Stricken State’S Climate Leaves Its’ Water
The drought stricken State s climate leaves its water supply to be volatile and unpredictable,
creating a hash reality for all demanders of the scarce resource. In the worst of times California s
climate is destructive to the wellbeing of not only Californian s quality of life, but the surrounding
ecosystems. With unseasonably higher temperatures presenting issues farther into the future, in
Adapting California s water managementto climate change , the authors Ellen Hanak and Jay Lund
provide an overview of the effects California s climate has during times of drought, and the
complications it presents for the State s water management. Water management in the state oversee

The Delta is the lifeblood of California s water supply system, but when sea levels rise more and
more of the levee system that blockades the salt and fresh water erodes, it leads to what is
known as seawater intrusion. More simply, the contamination of freshwater by its salty
counterpart. This process happens at varying rates, disrupting the water supply at a snail s pace
or more in abundance, leaving a rippling effect to be felt for months, or even years. Climates
effects on snowpack levels is far more measurable, where warming temperatures lead to higher
levels of winter runoff. Thus depleting the snowpack earlier in the year, and leaving less for the
spring and summer months to follow. Inversely, the average precipitations effects on the water
supply are less measurable, due to the inability to correctly asses the amount of total runoff derived
from precipitations role as the catalyst of the melting process. Measurements of this kind must be
more than just an estimate, Hanak and Lund cite that It is likely to be decades before we know if
and by how much precipitation and runoff volumes are changing (pg 20). But precipitations effects
on snowpack volume must remain relevant, the effects of reduced runoff due to decreased
precipitation appear to be much more important than

The Role Of Normative And Non Normative. Normative
I find it hard to imagine what my life will become in the future. As people age, they move into
different social roles that provides them with multiple identities. These transitions that we go
through tend to be linked with age, in the sense that as a society we expect something called age
norms which refers to the idea that there are appropriate ages for making these various life
course transitions. There are two types of transitions, normative and non normative. Normative
is when something happens that is expected like starting to drive or having a high school
graduation, where non normative is unexpected such as death or winning the lottery.
Throughout this paper I will focus on what I want my future to look like, and I will look at what
I can currently do to help make this happen. I will also look at my past transitions in life to show
what has led me to be the person that I am today. While I find it hard to think about my future, I
do know that I want to live a healthy, active and meaningful life until the day that I die. While
our life course can be unpredictable, we can still set goals that we want to accomplish. I already
know that my central sources of meaning will be my family and friends. When you age, having
interpersonal relationships like family and friends is key to happiness and having meaning in
life. Normality will also be something I will still want to be seen as a normal person, even though I
have aged a bit. They way that we perceive young and old is

The Natural Gas Of Gas Essay
Natural gas liquefaction goes back to the 19th century when Michael Faraday, a British chemist and
physicist, experimented with liquefying different types of gases including natural gas. Liquefied
natural gas (LNG) is an odorless, colorless, non toxic, non corrosive and non flammable form of
methane. The first liquefied natural gasplant was built in West Virginia in 1912 (Dominion). The
LNG was first produced in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1939. In the 1950s and 1960s, the ocean going
trade in international LNG began. In 1969, the first LNG terminal and commercial liquefaction
facility in the world in the United States began operations in Kenai, Alaska. The Kenai Peninsula
LNG plant, operated by ConocoPhillips, is one of the oldest and constantly operated LNG plants
in the world. In order for natural gas to be exported overseas, it must first be turned into liquefied
natural gas, attested and a safe process that requires the construction and operation of new facilities.
The US government has a deep history of regulating different aspects of natural gas, including
LNG, in interstate commerce. In 1938, Congress passed the Natural Gas Act, which granted the
Federal Power Commission (FPC) exclusive jurisdiction over the import and export of natural gas.
The federal government had been reorganized since 1938. To this day, the function of protecting
the public interest for natural gas imports and exports has been allocated between two federal
entities which are the FERC and DOE.

The World s Total Global Market
Although the U.S. has become the world s largest economy by making up half the world s total
global market capitalization, an investor would likely miss opportunities elsewhere by holding only
domestic stocks. Spreading the portfolio across a number of countries helps investors to take
advantage of a larger opportunity set, reducing the chances of losses that occur only on a single
market. Although, diversification cannot guarantee profits or protect against losses, historically U.
S. market returns have benefited more from emerging markets than from other developed markets.

2011). The attractive attributes that emerging markets offer contributing to the strong future growth
of investments include growing consumption, low debt levels, and room for productivity gains.
First, growing consumption means that emerging economies are focusing more on domestic
consumption led growth rather than importing goods from developed countries. Additionally,
emerging economies are also offering relatively low debt levels because their balance sheet are
usually safe due to their spending limitations and high saving rates. Last, according to analysts,
emerging markets are investing in better infrastructure and technological advances, which could
greatly boost sustainable economic growth in those countries. These three attributes are potential
factors to be accounted when making an investment (Brisk, T. 2011). However, there are also some
risk factors when investing in emerging markets that investors must consider such as, currency
instability, inflation, and political risks. First, currency instability includes exchange rates. In
emerging economics, exchange rates decline in value quickly, which reduce the gains or magnify
the losses of an investment in dollar terms. Moreover, the Inflation risks which is a problem that
has periodically cropped up in emerging markets. Inflation devaluates currencies, hurts corporate
profit margins, and slows economic growth

Criminalization Of Schools
Education has remained a source for continued politicizing and legislating for years. Whenever
policy is discussed at a national, state or local level, it seems that education makes it ways into the
conversation on some level. While many institutions and business have enjoyed increased
deregulation, the regulation of educationhas increased tremendously. The very institution charged
with preparing children and young people to function in society as participating citizens is plagued
with the most rules. There is no argument that students should be entitled to a safe and substantial
education in schooland rules must be in place to maintain a level of order in order to allow for
learning. However, there have been two polices that impacted the... Show more content on

generally involved harsh disciplinary consequences such as long term and/or permanent suspension
or expulsion for violations, and often arrest which are often enacted on minor or non violent
violations of rules such as tardiness and disorderly conduct (Heitzeg 9). On the other hand, the
existence of No Child Left Behind finds that the higher the stakes and the longer such an
accountability system governs schools, the more school personnel view students not as children to
educate but as potential liabilities (Rice University). In fact, the No Child Left Behind Act
represents another kind of extension of the crime model in education (Simon 226). Both regulations
have positioned students as the enemy. The negative impact and pressure that has evolved in the
school environment is palatable. Students behavior is more of a focus than their learning; teachers
are under pressure to teach and maintain credentials, administrators have become police in
monitoring both the teachers and the students in order for the school to remain in operation. In fact,
teachers are affected by both regulations since accountability as a system

African American History For The Past Century
The African American History from the Late 19th Century through the Present course was very
informative and educational. This course offered a broader view at looking and analyzing the
history of African American in the United States. Though, I have read extensively and possessed a
small collection of books on the subject, this course has affirmed what I have already knew as well
as elevating my knowledge on the subject. The course also opened up new ways to look and
understand certain facts about African American s experiences since Reconstruction.
There could not be a better textbook for this course than Freedom on My Mind. As I stated in a
previous assignment, the textbook is a mini reference encyclopedia of African American history for
the past century. The supporting documents throughout the textbook support the authors arguments
as well as providing the foundation for many unanswered questions that academics and intellectuals
should seek find answers from the government and people in leadership positions.
Parallel conclusions can be drawn to events involving African Americans in the late 19th century
and throughout the 20th century to current events with the exception that a few cases many end up
in the court. Discriminatory practices are wide spread in every sector of the American society. The
fights for school desegregation may have been won in the courtroom but segregationists found a
way to underfunded black schools. Affirmative Actionmay have provided a

King Leary The notion of celebrity status is one that is often overlooked and many people have

one of relaxation and stress free when in reality they secretly face problems that come with the
allure of fame. In the novel King Leary, written by Paul Quarrington, is an insightful book about
the game of hockey set in the 1900s. There are several characters that emerge throughout the

All of a sudden here was a crashing sound, and Manny came flying through one of the parish hall

demise of several professional athletes because of peer pressure. For example, former Vancouver
Canucks NHL tough guy Rick Rypien was overcome by peer pressure when he assumed the role
of team enforcer. He was aware that when his team needed a spark he would have to get into a
fight with the opposing team s tough guy. This ultimately led to alcohol abuse and depression
which ultimately led to his suicide in early 2011. Throughout the course of the novel, the theme
of depression is another issue faced by celebrities and the character of Manfred Ozikean. This is
a perfect example of how depression can lead to a change in one s mental health. Depression has
become more and more common in the past twenty years. One in every ten Canadians will suffer
from depression and these odds increase in celebrities and athletes. This is proven through the
character of Manfred Ozikean as his depression begins to set in when his alcoholic tendencies
cause him to become separated from his wife. Manfred s depression is a result of his lack of
confidence in himself so he resorted to alcohol as his way out. He got himself arrested two or
three times drunk and disorderly, creating a public spectacle and once he disappeared

Stormbreaker Chapter 7 Analysis
Reading Chapter seven of Stormbreaker caused me to have a lot of mixed emotions. In the

Because I read it several times and still didn t understand, I started of reading chapter seven in
confusion. As I got closer towards the middle of the chapter, I wasn t confused at all. In fact, the
less confused I was, the more I liked it! There was only one thing I noticed that made this chapter

I found serval places where he showed signs of nervousness and depression. The first time he

all people, I think that I would be the master at knowing nervousness. For example: At the end
year of the 2014 2015 school year, we were assigned workbook pages worth a test grade. For
everybody else this wasn t a huge deal, but it was for me. I had an eighty in the class and my test
average was high. That meant, anything below a ninety five, would cause me to fail. If I failed,
I wouldn t be allowed to come back to Davidson! Since it was assigned, I couldn t do anything
but think of the worst possibilities, just like Alex. Just like Alex screwed up by blowing his

The Common Fallacies Of Reasoning
Common Fallacies in Reasoning The practice of allowing citizens to vote for their leadership is
currently used in two thirds of the world s countries. As such, it is imperative to the basic
freedoms of the public that those citizens are properly educated on the matters they vote for.
However, several cases of voter s remorse , such as that over the American presidency of Donald
Trump or Britain s decision to leave the EU, imply that more work needs to be done in this regard.
A good starting point might be to raise awareness of logical fallacies, strategies that the media uses
to sway opinion with implication rather than fact. Several examples of these logical fallacies can be
seen during the 2016 Presidential Election, leading up to the... Show more content on

That s the Either/Or fallacy in action, where Trump is implying his policy to be a strictly win/lose
scenario, shutting down discussion of a potential compromise right then and there. That s not
supposed to be an admirable quality for the Presidency.
While this was going on, one would expect the Democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton, to be more
well recognized by voters. Unfortunately, her campaign was haunted by scandals from her previous
role as Secretary of State, such as storing classified information on a private email server, and
leaving potential deals with foreign countries undisclosed. When questioned about it at a
Presidential Debate, Clinton tried to dodge the subject altogether:
Wallace: Secretary Clinton, during your 2009 Senate confirmation hearing, you promised to avoid
even the appearance of a conflict of interest with your dealing with the Clinton Foundation while
you were secretary of state, but e mails show that donors got special access to you...Can you really
say that you kept your pledge to that Senate committee?

and our values...But I am happy, in fact I m thrilled to talk about the Clinton Foundation, because
it is a world renowned charity and I am so proud of the work that it does. (Medium)

Hydration Of Magnesium Sulphate
Introduction
Magnesium sulphate is used for a variety of purposes i.e. bath salt and as a laxative. It is a
hydrated salt and is required to be stored in a sealed container to maintain the water. Magnesium
sulphate in a solution is sprayed on plants or poured on soil, as magnesium is vital for plant growth
and respiration, it forms part of the chlorophyll molecule which is utilised by plants to convert
sunlight into energy.
This experiment was performed to determine the degree of hydration for a sample of magnesium
sulphate, the sample was heated in a crucible for ten minute periods and weighed between periods
until three concordant results were gathered.
Aim
To determine the mass/percentage of water within the magnesium sulphate sample.

molecules, made prior to the experiment. The theoretical number of molecules of H2O is seven,

that may have occurred during the experiment.

Henrietta Lacks Suffering
Thinking about suffering is pretty frightening, now the minimum event that occurs to someone
people call it suffering, but have you thought of how this was even worse in the past with racism,
economic problems, and human experimental discoveries? In The Immortal Life of Henrietta
Lacks by Rebecca Skloot a lot of central ideas are being formed, and one of them is suffering.
Suffering is illustrated in Henrietta, Deborah, and Day. First of all, this central idea is formed in
Henrietta being used for experiments and with her illness. In page forty two Skloot states, Henrietta
knew nothing about her cells growing in laboratory. She also states in page forty eight, The skin
from Henrietta s breast to her pelvis was natural shade more the color of faun than coal. Henrietta

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Hot Stamping
Introduction Hot stamping (HS) is an advanced manufacturing technology which processes high
strength part like steel at high temperatures by forging and treated by rapid cooling rate in dies.
By using hot stamping process can save a large number of equipment fees and get a good
performance, for it combines forming and hardening processes in one step. As the high strength
material has very good formability at high temperatures, it is achievable that complex shapes can be
formed in one single operation. In the meantime, as the part is kept in the die during the whole
cooling time, springback can be eliminated. [1] Recently, hot stamping is widely used in
manufacturing area, especially in automotive industry. One representative example is to meet the
demand of reducing weight of car body by using higher strength and thinner material. In order to
achieve this goal, some disadvantages must take into account like some high strength material
always lead to reduced formability and then... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Imperfection sites are most favorable positions for these nuclei formation, for example, dislocations,
vacancies and grain boundaries. The second stage is that the nuclei grows into a new grain. The
volume of the parent phase will decrease during the new phase growth. Two types of transformation
are distinguished macroscopically: diffusion controlled and diffusion less/displacive. The biggest
difference of these two reactions are according to the kinetics of the transformation. As to
diffusional controlled transformation, reaction needs some time, however, the displacive reaction
takes no time which can be considered as instantaneous displacement in the crystal lattice. Austenite
will decompose into different product phases during the cooling process. The kinetics of

Jim Brown In Professional Football
In 1957, Brown was selected to join the Cleveland Brown squad and immediately joined the team
s training camp. Despite most professional football players taking the time to adjust the high level
of play of the NFL, Brown quickly adjusted and made his presence felt. This showed another
important quality of coach ability that Jim Brown possessed. Jim got better each game, day, week
and season. His ability to be receptive to instruction, taking criticism and challenges to improve was
outstanding. In 1958, Brown won the rushing title for the 1,527 yards he ran and tied the single
touchdown record with 18. As years went by, Jim continued the onslaught, rushing on the ground
and catching long passes into the end zone as teams watched. Between 1958

Christopher s Obstacles
Those with special needs encounter a number of obstacles on a daily basis, which will not seem
like a problem for those who do not have any similar issues and experiences. Autism is a disorder
which makes a person act a bit unusual in situations. In society, if one with autism does an action
that is not normal, everyone judges them. In this world, no one takes into consideration all the
obstacles autistic people face. The novel, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time,
written by Mark Haddon, is about a male who has autism and has to encounter many obstacles due
to it. Christopher comes across several conflicts throughout the novel when he is trying to find his

Christopher does not have the ability to take in a lot of information at once and so it confuses

What Are The Big Five Personality Traits
Aziz, S., Tronzo, C. L. (2011). EXPLORING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN
WORKAHOLISM FACETS AND PERSONALITY TRAITS: A REPLICATION IN AMERICAN

Over worked and ecstatic
This study was conducted in order to delve into the thought process that the five factor personality
traits are cohorts with workaholism traits. This study also concentrates on the three dimensions of
a workaholic and the effects it has on their personal lives. In this study several psychologists were
trying to prove that workaholism could be explained by using all aspects of the five factor
personality model. This study hypothesized all five personality traits of the big five method. The
first hypothesis was about openness to experience being correlated to enjoyment for the work you

The third hypothesis was about the big five trait extraversion and the belief that the outgoing
nature of an extrovert will lead to a higher work drive. The fourth hypothesis was about
agreeableness and the happiness and joy that the trait is made from. The belief is that you will
enjoy making people happy that they will work harder in the workplace in order to create that goal.
The fifth hypothesis is about neuroticism and the many negative effects that the trait displays. A
person who is high in neuroticism have low job satisfaction and will not be overly enthusiastic
about working. There were 202 people who participated in this study. 40% were men and 60%
were women. The results for table one found that there were positive correlations found among all
three facets of workaholism. There was also a positive correlation with agreeableness,
conscientiousness, and openness to experience. There was also a high negative correlation between
work enjoyment and neuroticism. The results of this study verified the results of the original study

Legal Representation In Court Cases
As the need for legal representation continues to grow across all segments of our population,
new and innovative types of legal representation have developed. Limited scope representation,
or discrete task representation, allows an attorney to represent a person only in agreed upon
portions of his or her legal case. California Rule of Court 3.35 specifically defines limited scope
representation as a relationship between an attorney and a person seeking legal services in which
they have agreed that the scope of the legal services will be limited to the specific tasks that the
attorney will perform for the person. This method of legal representation provides not only a way
for individuals to decrease their legal costs, but also to exert greater control over and... Show more

For instance, in a divorce, an individual might hire a California family law attorney on a limited
scope basis to handle the property division aspects of a divorce, such as the division of a spouse

himself or herself, such as custody, visitation and child support, particularly if the parties are
already in agreement on those issues. Not every type of legal matter is suitable for limited scope
representation. Some legal issues tend to be extremely complex and necessitate a degree of
expertise that only an attorney can offer. The types of cases that traditionally work well with
limited scope representation include family law matters, landlord tenant disputes, and certain
consumer advocacy cases. By engaging an attorney on a limited scope, an individual who

Pursuing Graduate Study with the Rotary Ambassadorial...
My primary goal in pursuing graduate study is to build upon the foundation that was laid during

that it combines many of my interests, such as policy impact, health care, and the global

who face these challenges go through on a daily basis, I feel that it is important to utilize my
education and experience to help alleviate these stresses on the global community. I wholeheartedly

The Symbols Of Frog Grog
Frog Grog
Frog Grog
Now, here is a comical and witty video slot from Thunderkick. Frog Grog is a 3D witchcraft and
potions themed video slot, and one which has been expertly designed by its developers, and
conveniently released just in time for Halloween. Frog Grog offers players the chance to win
big with potions, bubbling cauldrons, spell books, vials, and more. It is easy to fall in love with
the title, too, which is clever and could lure in players on its own. Frog Grog just feels like a
genuine slot, and it doesn t try too hard to be something that it is not. Here is a 3D slot that is
about good natured fun, and little else.

Free Will vs. Fate in The Winter s Tale Essay
The Winter s Tale
The Winter s Tale is one of jealousy, betrayal and redemption. While this story involves many
characters and opens questions of the flaws in human nature and the power of forgiveness, there are
two main characters of particular anomaly. The actions of Leontes and Perditain this play are
unique unto themselves. As King, Leontes every decision weighs heavily upon the court and his
country. As we have seen in several other plays by Shakespeare, when the King is in distress,
Nature herself is disrupted. The cosmic connection between Leontes and Nature allows for the
supernatural forces that are seen late in the play. He has the opportunity to use these forces to
accomplish great things. Instead he chooses to let ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hunter considers Leontes actions to be the worst we have seen. He asserts the idea:
Leontes is his own calumniator, and the most completely unexcused of all Shakespeare s
humanum genus figures. Bertram has the complaisance of Parolles...and even Angelo and Antonio
can be seen as tempted, the one by the beauty of Isabella, the other by the prospect of power. No
one encourages or tempts Leontes, or lies to him. His sin is all his own work. (190)
Leontes is clearly a creature of free will. His sins are grievous and yet he is redeemed in the end.
Leontes has a free nature, thus enabling him to make both good and bad decisions. Since most of
his decisions are bad, his free nature allows him to eventually see his errors, express sorrow and
repent. . Hunter considers Leontes faults:
With hatred in control of his mind, Leontes attempts to destroy the innocent to kill his best friend,
his wife, and his own newborn child ...for this intended murder is `what Shakespeare makes the
symbol of complete wickedness: to command to murder a child. In The Winter s Tale, infanticide
takes on an added horror from the fact that the child is Leontes own. (192)
The Winter s Tale hinges on the Order of Nature, thus calling into question the roles of free will
and fate in human existence. Our two champions of these ideas are Leontes and Perdita. Leontes,
for example, uses his powers, as king to exert his will

The Atomic Age
After the war in Europe had ended, the United States needed to terminate their participation in
World War II. In order to end the war, military action had to be taken against the Japanese so
cause them to surrender. The only issue was finding a way to carry out an attack that would have
low casualties and funding. During the war, the Japanese soldiers fought to the death, including
mass suicides and attacks by kamikazes, or suicide bombings in planes. A land invasion, such as
D day, could have caused a large death toll on Japan, and also cause many Americans to lose their
lives. The United States believed that to end the war they must make a critical blow to the

Nagasaki, the secondary bombing location, had its own reasons for its selection. Although, It
was believed that the mountains and the strange lay out of the city would reduced the area of
destruction, it had been chosen as a target because it was one of the largest seaports in southern
Japan and contained many factories that made ships, military equipment, and other war
materials. The combined destruction of these cities was thought to finally cause Japan to
surrender unconditionally. On the morning of August 6, 1945, about an hour before the bomb
exploded over Hiroshima, Japanese radar had detected American aircraft off the coast of
southern Japan. As the planes grew closer japanese operators had determined that the group of
planes was very small, too small for an air raid or bombing run. They concluded that the planes
were only gathering information, and decided not to take any action against them. This was a
deadly mistake for the Japanese. At 8:15, the Enola Gay, an American B 29 bomber flew over
the city of Hiroshima. At 30,000 feet the plane dropped it load, Little Boy, the world first atomic
bomb. The bomb fell to 1,900 feet and then detonated over the city. The bomb exploded with a

Fighting Against Terrorist Groups In The United States
The topic of fighting against terrorist groups is very complicated because there are multiple

shouldn t send US troops to those countries to do the fighting . For this we need allies and enough

without having everyone in danger of something new happening. Another very smart thing that we

Use Of A Computer On The Basic Level
Nowadays we live in the era of computers. Everybody should know at least how to use a
computer on the basic level. I ve found a great resource both for those who are willing to improve
their programming skills and for those who only start programming!
Example:
In this hour, you get a chance to learn some Python basics, such as using the print function to
display output. You will read about using variables and how to assign values to variables, and you
will gain an understanding of their data types. By the end of the hour, you will know how to get
data into a script by using the input function and write your first Python script!
Producing Python Script Output
Understanding how to produce output from a Python script is a good starting point for those who
are new to the Python programming language. You get instant feedback on your Python statements
from the Python interactive interpreter and can experiment with proper syntax. The print function,
which you met in Hour 3, Setting Up a Programming Environment, is a good place to focus your
attention.
Exploring the print Function
A function is a group of Python statements that are put together as a unit to perform a specific task.
You simply enter a single Python statement to perform a task for you.

Public Safety Term Papers
To prevent serious consequences from man made and natural disasters and to provide timely

emergency services sector encompasses public and private companies that can help in crises

emergency services departments are responsible for protecting citizens in critical public safety
situations, such as when providing fire prevention or police protection services. Public safety is not
something one should think of only when an incident or a catastrophe occurs. This is why state
emergency department agencies develop emergency managementplans and procedures that will help

2008 Financial Crisis Report

the 1930s. Although financial crisis is not entirely new, each one is characterized by unique
challenges that make it difficult to make a prediction on when and how the next financial crisis

financial markets, inability of regulatory bodies to regulate the financial product and was
catalyzed by weak macroeconomic fundamentals prevailing at the time. In the aftermath of the

The Coroner s Lunch
Crime detective mysteries have captivated readers for years. Throughout time, the stories have
evolved in many directions, developing many different variations and adaptations of the
traditional murder mystery stories that had been told before. With subgenres such as police

forensic mysteries, there are so many different ways that a murder mystery can be told. The
book, The Coroner s Lunch, falls into multiple subgenres: cozy, amateur, and forensic murder
mysteries while also falling into the fantastical and supernatural genre as well. Cozy detective
mysteries start off in a small town or village that is usually very idyllic in concept. The criminal
event that takes place often skews the idyllic image of the town or village and gives the reader a
sense of seclusion as opposed to the former coziness about the town or village (Scaggs). The

The eternal struggle between good and evil unwavering as always. This battle has been seen
throughout time and has been implemented into mass media. This revolutionary thought is used
consistently. Light and dark imagery is used in stories to differentiate between good and evil. The
entire premise of the story Beowulfis based upon one hero, Beowulf, attempting to eradicate evil.
Whomever wrote Beowulf used light and dark imagery to create a visual representation of places

Beowulf is a long narrative that contrasts light and dark. This story contains many key words that

Man s Fate
Satre defines existence as absurd and having no purpose, but through the absurdity you must make
your own meaning of your life. You cannot depend on anyone else, you must depend on yourself.
Existentialism is the theory that you, as a person, control your own actions. Throughout Man s
Fate, Malraux, exemplifies many ideas of existentialism. The characters in Man s Fate believe that
their identities are defined through the actions they display. Especially in the time frame the novel

way of a cycle. Man first of all exists, encounters himself, surges up in the world and defines
himself afterwards. Sartre, Existentialism is a Humanism
Ch en does all of those key points. Before he assassinates the man in his sleep, he just existed

Hodgkin s Disease Research Paper
Risk Factors Scientists have found a number of risk factors that may influence the probability of
someone getting Hodgkin s disease, but it is still not clear how these factors increase the risk (4).
For example, some researchers think that infections with the Epstein Barr virus may sometimes
cause damage to the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) in the B lymphocytes, which leads to the
creation of Reed Sternberg cells (4). DNA is the set of instructions sent to the genes that dictates
cell functions. Some genes are responsible for controlling when cells grow, divide, and die (4).
Genes that assist the cells ability to grow, divide, and stay alive are known as oncogenes (4). Genes
that slow down cell division or cause cells to die at the proper... Show more content on

Developing And Managing Offerings Organizations Essay
Developing and managing offerings organizations is among the list of high risk any organization
can make. These are decisions that can lead to bankruptcy if it fails nonetheless firms needs to
continuously seek for ways to meet those needs if they must stay in business. Sure, in your area
you have seen some businesses shut their doors after just a few periods of existence. Some firms
like Adidas, Samsung, and Nike have more than one product while others have just one. What is
certain in this relationship is that the development process follows seven steps principles, but may
differ based on the business make up and the organization. The first step of this process is idea
development. Idea Generation.
Conception phase or idea generation make up part of the job description of the management team of
a company. If they stop having visions the organization will die a natural death. In this stage, a
manuscript of proposed products from product designers, customers, suppliers and even employees
are handed out to decision makers. This manuscript should have all the details about just everything,
including the revenue generating prowess of the different products, which after looking and
financial capacity of the company to invest in the new ideas and the advantages this new venture to
the company are scrutinized and narrow down to a short list of one or more products. Not that some

Marijuana Reform Research Paper
Recent laws that regulate marijuana have been a hot topic of debate. On on eland, people argue
that legalizing marijuana will result in more use of the drug and crime. On the other hand, people
who favor marijuana reform laws suggest that marijuana actually improves health and decreases
crime rates. This topic caught my attention because as a college student in an urban area, marijuana
use is very prevalent. Although marijuana is illegal, it is still bought and sold on a regular basis
underground or on the black market. In these circumstances, crimerate continues to rise. Therefore,
my purpose is to compare crime rates in places where marijuana is legal, such as Colorado and
Washington, to places that marijuana has yet to be legalized. The... Show more content on

The evidence provided for both claims have somewhat of a correlation, so there is mixed
information regarding marijuana as it is associated with crime. The researcher s hypothesis of this
article states that criminal behavior is due to the illegality of marijuana. However, if marijuana
was legalized for medicinal purposes, those problems would no longer exist ( ). This hypothesis
ties into whether or not there is a link to crime and marijuana because it seeks to examine the
effects of medical marijuana laws. The variables in the study were consistent with the question at
hand. According to the findings in the research, the dependent variables were the Part I offenses,
homicide, rape, assault, burglary, robbery, auto theft, and larceny accounted for in each state from
1990 to 2006.The Medical Marijuana Law was the independent variable. This included information
about when the law was passed in the respective state. Several sociodemographic control variables
were set in order to account for other influencing factors. The results based on this research
conclude that the states that passed the Medical Marijuana Legislation laws experienced reduced
crime rates. This suggest that MML may contribute to a reduction of crime. Therefore, the
hypothesis was supported. These

Cultural Differences Of Native Americans
The Cheyenne Indians There are many different types of cultures, languages, and religion out in
this enormous planet we call earth. It was quite hard to decide on what cultural group to study,
since there are a wide range of interesting cultures. The one group of individuals that has always
interested me was the Native American culture. Though there is a wide range of Native American
cultural groups as well. The one group that I wanted to pinpoint and what interested me the most
was, the CheyenneNative American Tribe. Not only were they so close to home but they were
different from most of the other tribes.
Overview:

Analysis Of Disney Films Mulan And Aladdin
Starting its production of films in the early 20th century, Disney has become a very popular
company targeting an audience of children and adults. By the 21st century, its films has gone
through many changes according to trends during those periods of time, especially with
relationships between males and females. Men has always been prominent compared to the
women in the movies. Women were displayed to be very dependent on male characters to come
rescue them, no signs of independency are apparent until recent contemporary films. In the movies
Mulan and Aladdin, the women were more free spirited and less dependent on men. In this case,
Disney films begins to break that barrier of genderroles within a relationship as a couple, changing
the view of gender expectations similar to this day. Around the early 20th century, women never
gained freedom or rights like how it is today. Expected to stay home, manage the house, please
their husband, and depend on the men to bring or come home with their needs. Kathi Maio , a
Boston Journalist, wrote an article called, Disney Dolls on Disney gender roles for the online
Magazine, New Internationalist; analyzes through classic Disney films Snow White. Maio
examines, Disney s first animated feature, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), set a standard
for full length animation and established a pattern for later Disney heroines to follow. Snow White
is young, virginal, pretty, sweet natured and obedient. Domestic drudgery doesn t

Ishmael, By Ishmael And The Narrator
Ishmael is an interesting story that begins when the narrator sees an ad for a teacher. Not only is
the ad for a teacher, but one that only seeks students whom have a desire to save the world.
When he does finally respond to the ad and meets the teacher in person, he realizes his teacher is
in fact a gorilla. Communicating telepathically with the gorilla, the narrator hears of Ishmael and
his past of captivity. After hearing the impressing story of Ishmael, the narrator accepts him as a
teacher returning to his office to be taught more. As the story continues, Ishmael and the narrator
discuss how the world came to be what it is today. The book Ishmael contains themes of captivity,
identity, evolution, food, religion, goodness of men, civilization, and mother culture. When
Ishmael first meets the narrator, he tells him his life story so that the narrator would consider
him as a teacher. Ishmael was taken from his home in the wild and put in captivity to be
displayed in an exhibition. From being held in captivity, it s due to that reason that Ishmael
believes that he can teach the narrator about captivity. What surprises the readers is that Ishmael
doesn t hold resentment or anger towards the people he called his captors. Instead he feels a sense
of sadness and pity of them due to the fact that these men are also held captive. He shows readers
that he believes that is captors are held by mother culture, which creates limitation for people. It s
for that reason he

Paul Simon s Adaptation Of Film
Paul Simon sets up the narrative of this song with a great opener. I could hear a narrator saying
it in the opening of a film. On top of the epic opening sequence possibility it also offers a well
defined character description. Any actor worth his salt like Daniel Day Lewis or Oscar Isaac or
Cate Blanchett could take the opening line and craft a complex character out of it. What s cool
is a writer could easily take the whole song and craft a novel, film, etc. I ve been think a bit about
adaption recently. A few of the the most recent books I ve read would make extremely entertaining
(better than a lot on the theater today) films. I would love to see one of the actors I listed above get

Chile, A South American Country
Chile is a South American country that contains a population of around 18 million people. Chile s
population is composed predominantly of mestizos, who are descended from marriage between the
Spanish colonizers and the indigenous people. Out of those 18 million people, 11 million are just
consisted of women population. Ever since, Ferdinand Magellan, the first European to set foot on
what is now called Chile, women have been neglected of many of their rights. Facing domestic
violence and gender based violence, there are only a few things that the government approves
Chilean women doing. Chileans have experienced a leftist government of Salvador Allende to a
military dictatorship of Augusto Pinochetalso known as General Pinochet. With all these different
types of changes in the government, why haven t women be able to fight back and relieve some of
the sexism that is faced on a daily basis? What do women do to fight back and what does it mean
having a women president in office for all the oppressed Chilean women. All these apparent
disconnects reflect on the tensions and contradictions that frame the lives of many women in Chile
today. Chile standardizing ideas about gender strongly influence women s lives, expectations and
possibilities. Chileans typically consolidate womanhood with motherhood. Associating women with
the home, family and children. The gender expectations that many women take on is dominated
with a national discourse of public values and goods. Domestic

Summary Of The Waters Of Babylon, By The Waters Of Babylon
In the story, By The Waters Of Babylon, written by Stephen Vincent Benet, a great change occurred
from centuries before John s society. Even though this change happened long before John s society
came about, it still affected the way his society s culture was. This story expressed great cultural
adjustments throughout time. When the Great Burning happened, everything was destroyed and
most knowledge was lost along with the city. This caused everything to change when it came time
to rebuild the society. Culturechanges over time due to the idea that through everyday that passes,
some form of knowledge, somewhere, is lost or gained, and that causes a dramatic change as the
years keep going. Cultural change happens very often and there are many factors that can lead to
a culture adopting different customs. One factor is expressed in the story when John had a
vision of the Great Burning. This disaster caused the survivors to forget the old ways which
changed everything. For example, the story states, It was the time of the Great Burning and the
Destruction. They ran about like ants in the streets of their city poor gods, poor gods! (Benet,
pg9) This explains the fact that the Great Burning killed off most of the gods that resided there.
The poison still affected the few survivors that escaped. This poison caused the survivors to lose
everything they knew about the old ways and every piece of knowledge left. This caused a
cultural change because there was nothing there anymore to explain the way things were supposed
to happen. Overtime, knowledge can eventually be changed through the passing from generation
to generation, causing cultural change to occur. In John s society, culture had slowly been
modified due to the time. Some of the culture was altered since only few people had knowledge to
begin with. Once those people with the knowledge were gone, then there would be no way of
knowing what really happened. For example, in the text, John states, We are not ignorant like the
Forest People our women spin wool on the wheel, our priests wear a white robe. We do not eat
grubs from the trees, we have not forgotten the old writings, although they are hard to understand.
(Benet, pg2) This demonstrates the

What Is The Mood Of The Scream
Through analysis of Edvard Munch s painting The Scream , the mood is portrayed as tense and
frightful. This mood is achieved through facial expressions, bold and contrasting colors, body
language, and the elements of lines. In the painting the facial expressions and body language
convey a negative mood. In The Screama distorted skeletal figure with a ghastly face is drawn
with his hands over his ears and mouth agape. The terrified being conveys a frightful mood due to
the contortions of his face and hand positions. In addition, the painting includes an array of bold
and contrasting colors. The red and blues differentiate with one another forming shadowy hues. The
color red which is featured in the painting as a sunset is notorious for

What Is The Theme Of Bohemian Rhapsody
With its evolving and unique sound, Bohemian Rhapsody by the British band Queen may be one
of the strangest, most inspired and least understood songs in the history of rock. Released on
October 31, 1975 in the album A Night at the Opera, Bohemian Rhapsody became very popular,
staying at the top of the UK Singles Chartfor nine weeks and by the end of January, had more than
a million copies sold. Freddie Mercury, the sole writer of this song, never disclosed the song s
official meaning, but Brian May, the lead guitarist of the band, believes it is about his struggles in
life and how he tried to get past society s standards, for the lyrics progress through the central
character s understanding of the situations portrayed in the song. Nonetheless,... Show more content

This sound perfectly matches the character s reaction to their judges, which anger and defiance.
This can be seen from the lyrics So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye, So you think
you can love me and leave me to die, Oh baby, can t do this to me baby, Just gotta get out, just
gotta get right outta here . However, this doesn t last long, for after a short and powerful guitar riff,
the song shifts to a down tempo ballad. This leads to the character feeling resignation and
complacency with the lyrics Nothing really matters, anyone can see, Nothing really matters...to me
. Then the song fades out with the character saying Any way the wind blows , as if they are

  • 2. Digital Art Analysis n this paper, I will be analyzing the following piece of digital art. Now the first thing I notice when I look at this picture is the color, it s mostly calm or cool colors mostly shades of blue or white. Which can mean many things that this person was feeling calm or was in a relaxed state while making this piece of digital art . or that he was depressed . The open theme of this picture brings a sense of calm and peace to me. The what look to be planets surrounding the tower in the middle also could have multiple meanings for instance they could represent the multiple possibilities of life or metaphorical worlds such as love life or social world etc... everything in this picture is taking place above the clouds possibly stating that this individual is above said problem. Or he has reached a mental state where this doesn t affect him. The architecture gives a fantasy/historical feeling that swallows you in a calmness. Each individual planet is rotating on a different axis suggesting different time or different place in the universe.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The artistic quality of the clock and the design of the ceiling and the tower itself fascinates me because while being very aesthetic it has a certain functionality to it. The sharp metal wrappings around the staircase give it a fluid look like it it is all moving in one direction. And it has vines wrapping around it giving it a kind of life about it. Overall the tower shows an artistic value of a mixture historical art,art that mimics movement and, open art showing a larger ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Star Wars Game Analysis Would you rather be in a dinosaur world or play a game where you are in a battle in Star Wars? These two things are possible. First up is Ark Survival Evolved . This game is an open world with almost endless possibilities. There really isn t an objective given to you, players just have to come up with their own objective. Your own personal objective could be to tame a certain dinosaur or build your base but first you need to get the supplies to do so. Although there is not an objective given to you, most people have the goal and that is to stay alive! Now for Star Wars Battlefront . The objective depends on what gamemode you play. Ark has dinosaurs but there isn t really a time on it because there are guns and turrets but no futuristic stuff. While Star Wars Battlefront is set in star wars which is along time ago in a galaxy far far away and as everyone knows is very futuristic. These games are very different. In This Chapter, I Present How Two Pop Cultural Sitesв Ђ”The In this chapter, I present how two pop cultural sites The film The Kids Are All Right, the television series The Fosters represent butch motherhood. My intention is to expose the discourses in action to reveal how they operate and contain instruction that delivers as disciplinary performance. I divide the following sections into individual discussions of each cultural text to reveal the cogs within each site. I then compare and contrast both texts to investigate the tensions between both productions and how the discourses thematically collude. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Reinforcing The Gender Binary Jules and Nic are slightly ambiguous representations of butch and femme yet the film overtly reinforces binary gender roles in its homonormative depiction of the family. Nic presents a more masculine identity: she has messy, cropped hair, wears little makeup, and wears relaxed fitting jeans and button down dress shirts. She is quick to anger, aggressive, a workaholic doctor, and operates more on conservatism and logic. Nic is both the disciplinarian and breadwinner in the family. In contrast, Jules is more visually feminized. She has long, smooth red hair, wears sexy lacy lingerie, and flowy or fitted t shirts. Free spirit Jules is a more liberal. She is the nurturing parent emotionally sensitive, compassionate and craves intimacy, characteristics that construct the femme (Martin 1996). These characteristics that construct Jules are antithetical to masculinity (Crewe 2015). These roles suggest that Nic is the man and Jules is the woman. This homonormative discourse continues throughout the film in a way that Nic becomes dissonant from the role of mother. As the man in the relationship, Nic performatively embodies a dominant, masculine fatherly figure (Fox 4). In postulating a masculinized identity, she reinscribes heteronormative conventions. In the worst of times California s climate is destructive to the wellbeing of not only Californian s quality of life, but the surrounding ecosystems. With unseasonably higher temperatures presenting issues farther into the future, in Adapting California s water managementto climate change , the authors Ellen Hanak and Jay Lund provide an overview of the effects California s climate has during times of drought, and the complications it presents for the State s water management. The Delta is the lifeblood of California s water supply system, but when sea levels rise more and more of the levee system that blockades the salt and fresh water erodes, it leads to what is known as seawater intrusion. More simply, the contamination of freshwater by its salty counterpart. This process happens at varying rates, disrupting the water supply at a snail s pace or more in abundance, leaving a rippling effect to be felt for months, or even years. Climates effects on snowpack levels is far more measurable, where warming temperatures lead to higher levels of winter runoff. Thus depleting the snowpack earlier in the year, and leaving less for the spring and summer months to follow. Inversely, the average precipitations effects on the water supply are less measurable, due to the inability to correctly asses the amount of total runoff derived from precipitations role as the catalyst of the melting process. Measurements of this kind must be more than just an estimate, Hanak and Lund cite that It is likely to be decades before we know if and by how much precipitation and runoff volumes are changing (pg 20). • 7. The Role Of Normative And Non Normative. Normative I find it hard to imagine what my life will become in the future. As people age, they move into different social roles that provides them with multiple identities. These transitions that we go through tend to be linked with age, in the sense that as a society we expect something called age norms which refers to the idea that there are appropriate ages for making these various life course transitions. There are two types of transitions, normative and non normative. Normative is when something happens that is expected like starting to drive or having a high school graduation, where non normative is unexpected such as death or winning the lottery. Throughout this paper I will focus on what I want my future to look like, and I will look at what I can currently do to help make this happen. I will also look at my past transitions in life to show what has led me to be the person that I am today. While I find it hard to think about my future, I do know that I want to live a healthy, active and meaningful life until the day that I die. While our life course can be unpredictable, we can still set goals that we want to accomplish. I already know that my central sources of meaning will be my family and friends. When you age, having interpersonal relationships like family and friends is key to happiness and having meaning in life. Normality will also be something I will still want to be seen as a normal person, even though I have aged a bit. They way that we perceive young and old is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Natural Gas Of Gas Essay Natural gas liquefaction goes back to the 19th century when Michael Faraday, a British chemist and physicist, experimented with liquefying different types of gases including natural gas. Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is an odorless, colorless, non toxic, non corrosive and non flammable form of methane. The first liquefied natural gasplant was built in West Virginia in 1912 (Dominion). The LNG was first produced in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1939. In the 1950s and 1960s, the ocean going trade in international LNG began. In 1969, the first LNG terminal and commercial liquefaction facility in the world in the United States began operations in Kenai, Alaska. The Kenai Peninsula LNG plant, operated by ConocoPhillips, is one of the oldest and constantly operated LNG plants in the world. In order for natural gas to be exported overseas, it must first be turned into liquefied natural gas, attested and a safe process that requires the construction and operation of new facilities. The US government has a deep history of regulating different aspects of natural gas, including LNG, in interstate commerce. In 1938, Congress passed the Natural Gas Act, which granted the Federal Power Commission (FPC) exclusive jurisdiction over the import and export of natural gas. The federal government had been reorganized since 1938. To this day, the function of protecting the public interest for natural gas imports and exports has been allocated between two federal entities which are the FERC and DOE. ... The attractive attributes that emerging markets offer contributing to the strong future growth of investments include growing consumption, low debt levels, and room for productivity gains. First, growing consumption means that emerging economies are focusing more on domestic consumption led growth rather than importing goods from developed countries. Additionally, emerging economies are also offering relatively low debt levels because their balance sheet are usually safe due to their spending limitations and high saving rates. Last, according to analysts, emerging markets are investing in better infrastructure and technological advances, which could greatly boost sustainable economic growth in those countries. These three attributes are potential factors to be accounted when making an investment (Brisk, T. 2011). However, there are also some risk factors when investing in emerging markets that investors must consider such as, currency instability, inflation, and political risks. First, currency instability includes exchange rates. In emerging economics, exchange rates decline in value quickly, which reduce the gains or magnify the losses of an investment in dollar terms. Moreover, the Inflation risks which is a problem that has periodically cropped up in emerging markets. Inflation devaluates currencies, hurts corporate profit margins, and slows economic growth ... Whenever policy is discussed at a national, state or local level, it seems that education makes it ways into the conversation on some level. The very institution charged with preparing children and young people to function in society as participating citizens is plagued with the most rules. On the other hand, the existence of No Child Left Behind finds that the higher the stakes and the longer such an accountability system governs schools, the more school personnel view students not as children to educate but as potential liabilities (Rice University). In fact, the No Child Left Behind Act represents another kind of extension of the crime model in education (Simon 226). Both regulations have positioned students as the enemy. The negative impact and pressure that has evolved in the school environment is palatable. The supporting documents throughout the textbook support the authors arguments as well as providing the foundation for many unanswered questions that academics and intellectuals should seek find answers from the government and people in leadership positions. Parallel conclusions can be drawn to events involving African Americans in the late 19th century and throughout the 20th century to current events with the exception that a few cases many end up in the court. For example, former Vancouver Canucks NHL tough guy Rick Rypien was overcome by peer pressure when he assumed the role of team enforcer. He was aware that when his team needed a spark he would have to get into a fight with the opposing team s tough guy. This ultimately led to alcohol abuse and depression which ultimately led to his suicide in early 2011. Throughout the course of the novel, the theme of depression is another issue faced by celebrities and the character of Manfred Ozikean. This is a perfect example of how depression can lead to a change in one s mental health. Depression has become more and more common in the past twenty years. One in every ten Canadians will suffer from depression and these odds increase in celebrities and athletes. As such, it is imperative to the basic freedoms of the public that those citizens are properly educated on the matters they vote for. However, several cases of voter s remorse , such as that over the American presidency of Donald Trump or Britain s decision to leave the EU, imply that more work needs to be done in this regard. Magee and published in New York by the Office of Yankee Notions in 1852, The Game Cock the Goose depicts rival candidates Winfield Scott and Franklin Pierce in the 1852 election race. The question is: who will win? At first glance, I saw two different birds in a race. Winfield Scott, the man sitting aboard an elegant game cock (left), tips his hat as he slowly pulls ahead of Pierce. Pierce (right), on the other hand, is about to fall off his mount, a goose. • 21. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Hot Stamping Introduction Hot stamping (HS) is an advanced manufacturing technology which processes high strength part like steel at high temperatures by forging and treated by rapid cooling rate in dies. By using hot stamping process can save a large number of equipment fees and get a good performance, for it combines forming and hardening processes in one step. As the high strength material has very good formability at high temperatures, it is achievable that complex shapes can be formed in one single operation. In the meantime, as the part is kept in the die during the whole cooling time, springback can be eliminated. [1] Recently, hot stamping is widely used in manufacturing area, especially in automotive industry. One representative example is to meet the demand of reducing weight of car body by using higher strength and thinner material. While this story involves many characters and opens questions of the flaws in human nature and the power of forgiveness, there are two main characters of particular anomaly. The actions of Leontes and Perditain this play are unique unto themselves. As King, Leontes every decision weighs heavily upon the court and his country. As we have seen in several other plays by Shakespeare, when the King is in distress, Nature herself is disrupted. No one encourages or tempts Leontes, or lies to him. His sin is all his own work. (190) Leontes is clearly a creature of free will. His sins are grievous and yet he is redeemed in the end. Leontes has a free nature, thus enabling him to make both good and bad decisions. Since most of his decisions are bad, his free nature allows him to eventually see his errors, express sorrow and repent. . Hunter considers Leontes faults: With hatred in control of his mind, Leontes attempts to destroy the innocent to kill his best friend, his wife, and his own newborn child ...for this intended murder is `what Shakespeare makes the symbol of complete wickedness: to command to murder a child. In The Winter s Tale, infanticide takes on an added horror from the fact that the child is Leontes own. The criminal event that takes place often skews the idyllic image of the town or village and gives the reader a sense of seclusion as opposed to the former coziness about the town or village (Scaggs). • 52. Summary Of The Waters Of Babylon, By The Waters Of Babylon In the story, By The Waters Of Babylon, written by Stephen Vincent Benet, a great change occurred from centuries before John s society. Even though this change happened long before John s society came about, it still affected the way his society s culture was. This story expressed great cultural adjustments throughout time. When the Great Burning happened, everything was destroyed and most knowledge was lost along with the city. This caused everything to change when it came time to rebuild the society. Culturechanges over time due to the idea that through everyday that passes, some form of knowledge, somewhere, is lost or gained, and that causes a dramatic change as the years keep going. Cultural change happens very often and there are many factors that can lead to a culture adopting different customs. One factor is expressed in the story when John had a vision of the Great Burning. This disaster caused the survivors to forget the old ways which changed everything. For example, the story states, It was the time of the Great Burning and the Destruction. They ran about like ants in the streets of their city poor gods, poor gods! (Benet, pg9) This explains the fact that the Great Burning killed off most of the gods that resided there. The poison still affected the few survivors that escaped. This poison caused the survivors to lose everything they knew about the old ways and every piece of knowledge left. This caused a cultural change because there was nothing there anymore to explain the way things were supposed to happen. Overtime, knowledge can eventually be changed through the passing from generation to generation, causing cultural change to occur. In John s society, culture had slowly been modified due to the time. Some of the culture was altered since only few people had knowledge to begin with. Once those people with the knowledge were gone, then there would be no way of knowing what really happened. For example, in the text, John states, We are not ignorant like the Forest People our women spin wool on the wheel, our priests wear a white robe. We do not eat grubs from the trees, we have not forgotten the old writings, although they are hard to understand. (Benet, pg2) This demonstrates the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
