Gestational Crates Should Not Be On Factory Farms
Gestational crates should not be on factory farms. Gestational crates limit the pigs movement so
much that the mothers are stuck on there sides when there are pregnant and can not move to eat or
go to the bathroom. Gestational crates should not be on factory farming. In this essay I will talk
about how gestational crates abuse the pigs that are put in them, how the mother pigs are treated on
these farms and how free range farming is better for the animals. I think that gestational crates
should not be on factory farms.
I think that gestational crates should not be on factory farms. I think this because it is not good
for the pregnant mother pigs because they can t get off their sides and have to sit in their own
feces. They also can t get

Deception In The Inferno And Boccaccio s The Deccameron
The theme of lying and deception reoccur frequently throughout Dante s, The Inferno and
Boccaccio s, The Decameron. In Dante s, The Inferno we meet Geryon, a monster who leads Dante
and Virgil into the eighth circle of hell. Dante believes that committing fraud and deception are the
worst sin s and he illustrates that through Geryons physical traits, and where Geryon leads them,
Malebolge. In Malebolge, the eighth circle of hell, Dante further illustrates the themes of lies and
deception by the sinners he meets and the stories he is told. The themes of lies and deception are
prevalent not only through the Infernobut, also through Boccaccio s, The Decameron. Throughout
The Decameron, Boccaccio uses lies and deception to build his hero s throughout the stories.
The first story takes the theme of lies and deception and shows them through the character,
Ciappelletto. Ciappelletto lies his way to heaven and ends up being praised by a city upon
death, although his whole life he has been a sinner. Boccaccio often uses lies and deception to
lead the characters to heaven, compared to Dante who sees how lies and deception have led the
characters to hell. Throughout both texts the theme of lies and deception are prevalent and play
a significant role in both stories. In Dante s, The Inferno, lies and deception are represented
strongly through the monster Geryon. Geryon has many deceiving characteristics that represent
lying and fraud. Dante describes Geryon as, His face is appealing like that of an honest man,
but his body end in a scorpion like stinger. (Dante 223) Geryon has the face of an innocent man,
which represents your typical person committing fraud, like we see in big business today. His
scorpion like tail represents the downside to these businessmen because even though they look
good at first, they are going to come back and sting you, by committing fraud against you. Geryon
takes Vigil and Dante from the seventh circle of hell into the final circle of hell, Malebolge. In
Malebolge, Dante and Virgilmeet many sinners who have committed the act of fraud, all of the
sinners are punished in unique ways depending on what type of fraud they committed. The sinners

Cat Hills Volcanic
Cat Hills Volcanic Field for Major and Trace Element Analyses
By Nathanael Roybal; Geological Sciences, Undergraduate Research Scholars
ABSTRACT
This project focuses on preparing samples for major and trace element analyses of the Cat Hills
volcanic field. Fourteen rock samples were collected from different locations from the Cat Hills
volcanic field. Whole rock samples were crushed with a Chipmunk jaw crusher to obtain gravel
sized particles. Samples were separated using sieves with a mesh spacing of 0.0037 inches and
0.0195 inches. Gravel sized samples collected from the 0.0195 sieve fraction were leached in 5%
nitric acid for 25 minutes, rinsed in distilled water, and allowed to dry. After drying, gravels were

What Is The Purpose Of Bureaucracy InJust Do What The...
In the articles Just Do What the Pilot Tells You by Theodore Dalrymple and Genocidal Killer in
the Mirror by Crispin Sartwell, the authors both support the claim that people appeal to authority
through bureaucracy and hierarchy. A bureaucracy is a system of government where nearly most
of the important decisions are made by state officials, rather than by an elected representative.
Sartwell concludes that people included in the bureaucracy fixed the society to do what they
wanted him to do and to react to things a certain kind of way, and Dalrymple understands that
everyone has to answer to someone. For example, a teacher has to answer to the principle and the
principal has to answer to the superintendent. So, like a hierarchy, everyone has to answer to
someone. A hierarchy is a system or organization where people or groups are ranked one above
the other according to their status or authority. While both provide some clarification of the same
process, Sartwell believes that bureaucracies are the greatest evils of society. And while Dalrymple
agrees on the topic, he asserts that nearly most of the time we should follow authority in a
technologically advanced society. Dalrymple asserts that the interests of patients come from the
hierarchy among doctors and that it s their job to take full responsibility for the care of their
patients, Sartwell believes that those included in the bureaucracy mobilized a society to do what
they wanted and react to things in a certain kind

The Structure And Function Of Cell Organelles
The Structure and Function of Cell Organelles
Cells are surrounded with a boundary known as the cell surface membrane and as well as holding
the cell together, being semi permeable, it controls the movement of materials across it. Within the
cell are a number of structures each which have specific functions. These structures are known as
organelles. The cell surface membrane and the membranes of any of the membrane bound
organelles described below are made of the same material, a double layer of phospholipid
molecules. Within the cell surface membrane, the intracellular space known as the cytoplasm,
contains all the organelles and a fluid known as cytosol. Within the cytosol is a network of
microtubules and fibres called the cytoskeleton. This cytoskeleton s main functions are to give
support to the cell helping to maintain its shape and aid the movement of organelles. Most cell
organelles and structures are common to both animal and plant cells but there are some differences
as outlined in the table below.

Mesopotamia Facts
Mesopotamia, the land between two rivers, was one of the world s first civilizations. The most
memorable facts about Mesopotamia include that Sumer was the first Mesopotamian civilization
where the first written language,Cuneiform, and Hammurabi s Code, first code of law to be
documented, were established. I recently studied this civilizationin another course, so facts such as
the civilization being known as the Fertile Crescent because of its geographical advantage and that
many Mesopotamian civilizations were polytheistic were already part of my knowledge. I didn t,
however, know that Hebrews, the first monotheists, originated near Sumer. I am curious to research
about Hebrews and find out how long it was until other monotheists emerged.... Show more content

An already known fact about the Egyptian civilization that was their elaborate burials. They were
very architecturally advanced and constructed the pyramids and other complex tombs for the
Pharos. The final ancient civilization I read about was the Indus River Valley civilization. This
included ancient India, China, and the Americas. India was developed during the Bronze Age and
was very advanced because their cities were planned out in a grid format and even had plumbing
systems. Their social order is what surprised me the most because there was a group outside of the
order, the untouchables, you couldn t move up a class until the next life, and the ultimate goal was
nirvana, the union of Atman with Brahman. China established cultural diffusion with the initiation
of the Silk Road . I also studied this civilization in a previous course and learned about the dynastic
cycle and how dynasties can be overthrown because of the Mandate of Heaven. I lastly discovered
that Olmecs in the Americas contributed to society by creating a calendar, building great pieces of
architecture, and passing on their traditions to future generations to

The Coach Research Paper
Sports are a form of entertainment, whether it is playing them or watching them. Yet part of the
entertainment is also the audience. The fans can have a large impact on the game itself as well as
your experience. We all have that one friend who is way too competitive, whether it involves sports
or just who finishes eating first. They cannot choose what things to be competitive at, for that
nature is in their blood. The Coach is the most competitive player out of the fans. In a game, you
will scarcely, see them sit down, and they are so competitive that they actas if they are actually
playing the game. They could be sitting as high as the nosebleed seats and shouting at the players,
telling them what to do, as if the players could somehow hear them. Yet they are being obnoxious to
the people around them, for, unfortunately, they can hear them quite clearly. Coaches are essentially
the backseat drivers of sports. The next fanwe have is the complete opposite of a Coach, hence the
quotation marks. Phonies come for the experience, not for the game. Phonies often come
wearing all of the team s gear, yet it is all for the aesthetics and for the sports façade. You may
think that the game is on their phone because that is what they ll spend most of their time
watching. Unlike the Coach, others will not notice or pay much attention to Phonies, yet you
will know they were there because it will be posted on social media or other public accounts.
Coaches tend to be stubborn and close minded, so not much bothers them. Except for the Rookie.
Rookies are the bane of Coaches. Unlike Phonies, they are genuinely interested in the game.
Unfortunately, they know little to nothing about the sport, and the people to suffer are the ones
like Coaches. They are constantly asking questions about how it works and what s going on in the
game, preventing others from fully enjoying and experiencing the game. Unlike Coaches, Rookies
do not bother the rest of the fans, but only the ones they are close with. One good thing about
Rookies is that they are honest. Followers also are not completely familiar with the game, yet they
try to be discreet about it. They go with the flow of the crowd, yet you

Essay on Tim s Coffee Shop
Executive Summary Tim s Coffee Shoppe set up outside looks very appealing for customers to go
inside and have a cup of coffee. When looking at the inside the atmosphere looks appealing for
customers. The business is also open every day from 6am to 2am with a bus stop close to the
business so it is easier to get too when not having a vehicle. Notice that the restaurant is located next
to the college. With having a coffee shop next to a college this will mostly attract more college
students and also with having live entertainment this should get more customers to come in. With
the live entertainment I noticed that there is no time schedule to when the live entertainment is

Management Management in Tim s Coffee Shoppe are doing a good job at making sure that the
restaurant is passing their inspections, but some of them have slacked on making sure that the
employees fill out their time cards correctly. There has been one employee that has received four
warnings throughout working at Tim s Coffee Shoppe, this employees warnings involve being
rude to the customers and to the other employees that also work there. Most of the employees
enjoy working there and with their managers. However there is one employee that felt like she
was not going to get anywhere by working so she is going to put her two weeks in so she can go
work for one of the competitors. One employee suggests that they need to have better cash
registers so they do not have to go through the paper receipts to make sure everything is
accounted for at the ending of a shift. With the one person that keeps getting the warnings I
suggest of letting him go so there is no more problems between him and the customers or
employees. When the one employee suggested that the new owner to get new cash registers I feel
that it might be a good idea so it is much easier to keep track of what is being sold. Also to keep
better track of the mistakes that might happen during the shifts. Also with having better cash
registers the restaurant could always start accepting

The first thing that comes to mind when you think of cigars, radical politics, social strife and
Fidel Castro is Cuba. Officially known as the Republic of Cuba, it is also known as the Pearl of
the Caribbean, a country isolated from the capitalist world. For the last 40 years Cuba has been
under the rule of the Castro regimen, a government who brought advances in education and
healthcare, brought electricity to the country side however, ruled with an iron fist when it came to
dealing with it s opposition. Castro jailed many of his political opponents, closed down opposition

Sprague-Dawley Rats
Sasser et al. reported the results of a two generation reproductive toxicity study in the form of a
Final Report (Sasser et al., 1989b) and as an open literature publication (Sasser et al., 1996b). In
this study, groups of Sprague Dawley rats (27 females and 20 males/group/generation) were

administered (by gavage) to three groups of maleand femalerats prior to mating, during mating, and
after mating, until birth of the offspring, at which time the male rats were sacrificed. Sulfur
mustard was administered to the animals by intragastric intubations, 5 d/week through the mating
period, which began at 13 weeks. During gestation, pregnant female rats were dosed 7 d/week.

Sergeant York Movie Accuracy
The noise were worse than ever, and everybody was shouting through the dark, and nobody seemed
to be able to hear what anybody else said (York, 1998). The movie Sergeant York was released in
1941 as a black and white film by MGM Home Videos. Directed by Howard Hawks, this film
showed the life and struggles of the war hero Alvin C. York. The main character, York played by
Gary Cooper, struggles with the thought of killing as World War 1 breaks out. The movie
shows how Alvin came to know his wife Gracie, played by Joan Leslie; came to know Christ; and
became a war hero. We also see how York comes to find friends while in the trenches; one of which
is Michael T. Ross, played by George Tobias, they grow to be fast friends as the movie proceeds.

Creatine Supplements
Protein Powders and Creatine:
Are they beneficial?
Anyone from ordinary people to fitness junkies to professional athletes and Olympians, can benefit
from protein powders and creatine supplements. According to Richard Kreider of the University of
Memphis, it is more than a supplement for athletes... it helps you maintain muscle mass and that has
long term health benefits . These supplements are meant to accommodate a healthy diet, not to be a
replacement for food. When used correctly, creatineand protein powders are beneficial for
everyone.
High quality protein supplements can be very beneficial for weight loss. When trying to lose
weight, it is essential to lose fat instead of muscle tissue. According to Lisa Leupp, adequate
protein is essential for maintaining lean muscle mass . If you are dieting and weight loss is
coming from muscle mass, you will have less energy and will not be able to perform as long. It has
been established that an average adult should take .36 grams of protein per pound of body weight.
If the diet is a reduced calorie diet, than even more protein should be consumed to maintain muscle
(Leupp). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Failure Of Standardized Testing In Schools
Budgetary Priorities
There are numerous ways to prioritize budgeting especially when it can greatly impact sufficient
funding. Oftentimes, we find issues and problems within our school systems. Each and every
classroom should posses a well educated, professional teacher that is qualified to carry out a well
developed curriculum. Subsequently, schools in the United States in general do a very a poor job
within the system locating and evaluating qualified teachers.
An example of this very thing is that policy makers have recently come to terms that the failure is
based on the improvement of student scores on standardized testing such as reading and
mathematics. In essence, there are areas of concern about the current system of teacher evaluation
and how it s measured by the teacher s effectiveness towards the improvement of student
achievement. Thus, if new laws and policies are put in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Standardized testing has been incorporated in the United States since the mid 1800s. Therefore
when the No Child Left Behind Act was mandated, the United States began to slip behind the 18th

quality, tenure policies, rising poverty levels, and the increase pervasive use of standardized testing.
With the various policies towards standardized testing has caused more issues than anticipated such
as the obsession of standardized testing is driving teachers or making them fearful that their jobs
are at stake if the student test scores are not raised. In addition, these standardized testing is not
assisting or preparing students for colleges or careers. For example, some organizations may

After evaluating Best Electronics website using three different usability evaluation methods which
are observations, questionnaires and heuristics evaluation.
These usability evaluation methods allowed us to recognize the major flaws of the website, also
assisted to identify the key features and aspects of the website which have to be improved.
The first aspect needs to be changed within the website is the colors and the font size used
throughout the entire website. Based on the heuristics evaluation we performed, the font size used
in the website is big, which makes reading the content uncomfortable, also there are many colors
used in the website without any professionalism , which led to make the website unattractive, also

It is one of the biggest flaws of the website, for this reason it is essential to create enough space
between the paragraphs and images so the viewer has space to breathe, minimize the paragraphs
size of the content, divide large blocks of information into more manageable groups where natural
and appropriate, avoid content clutter especially on the homepage, present information in more
precise and ordered way to minimize the scrolling required, and finally, organize the content with
respect to the principles of contrast, repetition, alignment and proximity. All these steps must be
taken to accomplish three of our usability goals (effective home page, Clarity of the interface,
Motivating website), as well as to meet two of the Windows Interface Guidelines, aesthetics and
simplicity .
Another aspect is the lack of menu, quick links and search engine, based on our observations,
users were not able to find different kinds of information they were looking for, and the reason
for that is because the website does not offer any menu or quick links to allow users to navigate
quickly, additionally, the website does not have a search engine which allows users to find
products quickly, so one goal when redesigning the website is to build a main menu, and

Poverty In African America
The disproportionate rates of poverty among African americans has continued to be a persistent
social problem that the United States faces. The purpose of this article is to examine how poverty
has been approached in the media, specifically on the opinion pages of American newspaper.
Poverty is often explained in three different ways. The first explanation is blaming the person for
ending up in poverty. As people often associate poverty with a lack of responsibility and it has also
been noted that poverty is blamed on the poor when raceis involved. As the media shows the poor
are frequently the minorities and the African Americans, even though most welfare recipients are

Ralph Waldo Emerson s The Snow-Storm
In the two stanza poem The Snow Storm by Ralph Waldo Emerson, the reader is able to recognize
opportunities of personification. Throughout the poem, Emerson personifies the storm giving the
reader a sense of ever realistic perceptions. Emerson makes it a habit in personifying the actions of
the storm, transforming it into a conscious being. As the reader goes on, there is a sudden
recognizable shift between the two stanzas. The first idealizing the stormin a royal embrace, the
second standardizing the storm into an ordinary craftsman. Emerson begins the poem, Announced

From these lines emerson is able to leave the reader with a sense of closure. The reader is able to
see the transformation and personification of the snow storm. In the last line of the poem Emerson
explains, The frolic architecture of the snow. (28), leaving the reader with the true meaning of the
snows character and responsibility. The snow storm has taken on the personality of a craftsman,
inventor, architect, and farmer. The snowstorm has taken its simple personality and turned into not
only a work of art, but an architectural craft. Therefore, Emerson s personification in this poem is
quite evident from beginning to end. Emerson starts out the poem with a sort of theme for the
storm and uses personification and imagery to advocate that theme. In the first stanza, Emerson
creates the image of a royal and important storm coming to share its beauty and to be recognized.
However, as the poem continues the reader is able to see the sudden shift in Emerson s theme. In
the second stanza the theme of personification turns into craftsman, inventor, and masonry.
Emersons shift allows for a more adaptable and relatable being in the storm. The storms wake of
beauty turns into a hardworking craft. Simply stated, Emerson has made an ever changing being
out of a snow storm. From royal to loyal, this storm has shown its true abilities both personified and

The Great Depression Of The United States And Canadian...
Summary
As the Great Depression continued to tighten its grip on America, nature turned against many
already suffering Americans. The Dusty Bowl, also know as the Dirty Thirties, was a period of
severe dust storms that greatly damages the ecology and agricultural production of the United
States and Canadian plains. Many farmers and ranchers were driven to the Great Plains by the
American sense of expansion. The land they inhabited was used primarily for ranching till
advances in agricultural mechanization and high grain prices caused by World War I, made
agriculture more productive as ever; thus causing farmers to exploit the land in their attempt to
make a large profit, setting up the region for an environmental catastrophe. As a result of over
farming, a failure to implement dryland farming techniques which would have prevented topsoil
wind erosion and a severe drought, 150,000 square miles of land in Kansas, Colorado, Texas,
Oklahoma, and New Mexico, faced havoc not previously seen in American history. The first black
blizzard occurred in 1931, and they occurred till conservation efforts in the 1940s, but the damage
had been done, reflected on the upturned land and record heat, as well as the unleashed swarm of
locust and jackrabbits, causing terror in children and adults alike. Consequently, massive amounts
of people migrated from the plains fleeing the storms, and those who stayed faced the harmful
effects from the inhalation of dust particles.

Ovarian Cancer Case Study
Question #1 The first primary genetic consideration is that the risk for ovarian cancer is 8%
24% for women with a BRCA mutation. This also implies that any child a woman with this
mutation has, will have a 50% chance of inheriting the BRCA gene because they are autosomal
dominant genes. (Norris, Spelic, Snyder, Tinley, 2009, p. 73) A second primary genetic
consideration is that BRCA genes are autosomal dominant genes, which means that these genes
are equally likely to be passed on to a female or a male child from a parent with a BRCA mutation

Question #3 The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (2012) stated that ovarian cancer is the
fifth leading cause of death related to cancer in women ages 35 to 74 and is estimated to occur
in one out of 75 women during their lifetime (What is the general outlook for women diagnosed
with ovarian cancer section, para. 1). Survival rate depends on which stage the cancer is in when
it is diagnosed. If caught and treated early, survival rate is over 90% but if caught in or after
stage III, the rate of survival can be 28%. (NOCC, 2012, What is the general outlook for women

There are three common cell types in which, ovarian cancer is formed. Surface epithelium cells

The Complex Layers Within the Little Mermaid
Fairy tales convey political, moral, and social lessons through characters, relationships and setting.
They originate from an oral tradition passed down from generation to generation often in a varied
form, drawing inspiration from diverse sources such as the Bible and mythology. As societies
gained access to the printed word, fairy tales became less changeable and tended to focus on
characters who were transitioning from childhood to adulthood (Abler). Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm
became renowned for their collection of fairy tales which have been disseminated worldwide and
translated into a hundred and sixty different languages during the Romantic period of the nineteenth
century (Abler). They often changed tales from their original versions to get rid of sexual
undertones and horrific violence against innocent characters, injecting their interpretation of
Christian morality into the subtext. Laced with various complex layers, the original tale of The
Little Mermaidis imbued with poignant cultural meaning. Sirenetta, the young mermaid
protagonist, dwells in a kingdom under the sea with her older sisters, but desires to become human
after she falls in lovewith a prince whom she saves from drowning (Brothers Grimm4). She
implores the Witch of the Deep for help to get human legs but sacrifices her voice and accepts that
every step she takes will be excruciatingly painful (5). Sirenetta and the prince fall in love, but
ultimately the prince is ordered to marry another woman

Explain Why The House Of Lords Should Be Abolished In The Uk
The House of Lords is a section of the UK parliament, which oversees and reviews changed and
bills made or passed by the House of Commons. Unlike the House of Commons, the members are
not decided by the voting of the general public. There are 2 members who are representing due
to their job, the Duke of Norfolk and the Marquess of Cholmondely, who are both responsible for
organising royal events. There are then another 90 members who are represented due to one of
their ancestors being made a member; these people are known as Hereditary Peers. Twenty six
senior Bishops of the Church of England are also represented; these are known as Spiritual Lords.
The other members have been made members for life, by either being appointed as a Life Peer,...

For many years now, there has been numerous debates and calls for the House of Lords to be
reformed, with some even calling for it to be abolished.
There are many reasons why the House of Lords should remain in full effect. The main reason is
should be kept is that the members of the House of Lords are speaking about what is best for the
country, while MP s in the House of Commons just say what will please the voters in there
affiliated constituency, as most MPs care more about being re elected than what is actual best
for the country. Critics say that the House of Lords ignores the will and opinions of the nation,
but in reality it constantly speaks up for the rights of the people, especially when the Commons
does not. Another reason is that each year, the House of Lords sits more hours, days and weeks
than the House of Commons, proving the view that the House of Lords is just a social club as
wrong. Another strong argument for the House of Lords retention is that the majority of the
members of it are highly intelligent and distinguish people who are expert in their fields, and are
highly knowledgeable in other areas. Currently in the House of Lords there are five former

Thomas Paine (1737 1809) Anglo American political activist / philosopher. Author of The Age of
Reason.
Common Sense was an addressing for the America people, I doubt Thomas Paine intended the book
to go beyond print and into the realm of digital media eight years ago. Now America again is
about to elect another commander and chief on November 8th, I felt it was time to reinstate the
words of Thomas Paine s Common Sense; it s avidly a man s sentiment for a nation; whereby

Deep respect resides for centuries and in our weak hours during the Battle for Britain, the
Americans came to our aid. Not much has changed during the seventy years, the special

vigorous form of idealism.
Pre 1776, America may have chosen Empire rather than Republic, alas the strong British connection
albeit, the caste system i.e. slavery had annexed off into undisclosed societal divisions, Thomas
Paine of Thetford didn t adhere to the in justness of servitude. In fact Britain republican virtues
were non existent, the values were notably borne to America not transmitted / inherited. What is
exposed is the germinal moral energy of Paine, for he who knew of the Welsh coal miners who fled
their grim valleys and whose sorrowful place names still dot the map of Pennsylvania, to which the
Americans bought a piece of tradition and organization; see the Appalachian Mountains, renown for

Dog Memoir
Memoir
Although my family had talked about getting another dog I never actually thought we were really
going to. A couple days before we went to Lamancha, my parents had to fill out an application
online for permission to adopt a dog from them. The application included that we had to have
references and asked questions like where the dog would sleep, if my parents had kids and how old
they were, if we were good with dogs. All kinds of questions to make sure that the dog we picked

When they left, my family all got in the car and we drove to Lamancha; an animal rescue center.
When we got there and pulled in there were dogs everywhere, they surrounded the car. There
were probably about 15 dogs, both big and little. All the dogs eventually backed up and we were

We told the person who was working there what we were looking for. She brought us to the back

The first puppy was an all black with a white shape that looked like a star on her stomach and a

Gambling Is A Part Of All Of The Characters
Gamblers
This film explicitly demonstrates that gambling is a part of all of the characters lives.. The one
character who does not gamble for most of the Film is Bernie because he had such bad luck and
was a recovering problem gambler. Even Bernie caves into gambling at the end of the film by
betting all of the money he had on the craps table. The film does not focus on any specific
character gambling and shows hundreds of men and women gambling during the movie. The
different faces gambling only adds to the idea that everybody gambles, normalizing this behavior
as a part of everyday life. The majority of the gamblers were older white, affluent males.
Interestingly enough, this conflicts with a 2002 United States gambling survey, which found that
increases in socioeconomic status led to decreases in gambling involvement (Welte 2002). While
the study did take place between 5 to 10 years after the film, the demography of the film also still
far underrepresents minority participation in gambling. Gender stereotypes which were more
accurate was that men mainly played action games while women played escape games like slots.
Similar to other features in the film, the demographics in the casino are blatant and obvious, no
woman ever rolls the dice on the craps table, and no man ever pulls the lever of a slot machine.
In terms of gambling problems, no main character is visibly dealing with a gambling issue. Also,
many minor characters are shown gambling, fairly representing the

Biological Structures And Processes Within An Organism...
Human s body is constantly under attack by: bacteria, viruses and many other microorganisms,
these are called pathogens. Our body is a rich source of water and nutrients that these pathogens
need to survive, it is a perfect environment for them to live and develop. Nevertheless, human s
body has its own way to protect itself from these invaders, therefore most of the time we remain
healthy. Immune systemis a system of many biological structures and processes within an
organism that provides a defence against disease. There are three major lines of our defence
against pathogens. The first is to prevent their entry by defences of the skin and mucous
membranes in the respiratory, digestive and urogenital tracts. If this fails, two internal defences
takes over: an initial non specific inflammatory response to injury, or if this unsuccessful, is
followed by specific immune response. Two major divisions of the immune response: non specific
and specific.
(Rowland, 1992)
Non specific defence attacks any molecule, which the body recognises as being non self and skin
is the first barrier that antigen needs to pass through. The first layer of the skin epidermis, consist
of the layer of dead skin cells that lack of water and suitable food, which inhibits the growth of
micro organisms inside the epidermis. Sebum, secreted by sebaceous gland in the skin, contains
fatty acids, which are toxic to many microorganisms. Areas that are not covered by the skin have

II. Introduction
Singapore is a thriving port for businesses and its arts sector is more dynamic now than ever
before, with arts organisations enjoying various degrees of success in the consumer market, as well
as in markets for sponsorship and donations, and government support. Even though the three main
sources of revenue may have come to an end, the number of arts organisations competing for
financial support is continuously rising. In view of marketing, one could say that the life cycle of

III. Proposed Thesis Statement Research Questions
The proposed study hypothesises that the role of branding can affect the financial strength of the
arts centres in Singapore. The study seeks to prove that there is relationship between the role of
branding and the opportunities in financial support for the growing number of arts centres in
Singapore. Financial support for the arts centres are likely to increase if branding strategy with
careful consideration is adopted. Through a review of recent literature covering the role of
marketing (and branding) in affecting the artistic products and arts organisations, the proposed
study explores the connection between the arts centres financial strength and their brands
constructed therein. With particular emphasis on three arts centres in Singapore, namely The
Substation, The Esplanade, and Goodman Arts Centre, five research questions are included to
support the thesis. The initial investigation of the proposed study will attempt to 1) What is
branding and its relationship with the arts in Singapore?; 2) What are the identified arts centres in
Singapore?; 3) Do brand extension strategies for conventional goods and services succeed in the
case of arts centres in Singapore? 4) Which type of

Differences Between College And College
College is our first real step into adulthood. If you re like me, and most college students; you move
out of your home and into a dorm which means you must fend for yourself. College really is a
whole new world waiting to be explored. However, it can also be frustrating to adjust. So, in this
essay as a first year collegestudentmyself, I will be guiding you by providing examples of
differences between high schooland college, priorities and how to schedule your time. I think the
biggest difference between college and high school is freedom. Everyone seems to love it, we
finally begin to feel like we are in control of our future. In high school, most activities are
monitored; while in college we don t have adults monitoring us 24/7, but with that newly found
freedom comes responsibilities. And I think those responsibilities can be the hardest adjustment for
some. Sometimes when we gain so much freedom we don t know how to act. Some students only
think about having fun and they put aside the important things like taking care of themselves;
when they fall off their normal routine. In college, it is easy for unhealthy habits to form. Some of
these habits are staying up late, eating unhealthy, and slacking on chores like laundry. When you
start to take on these habits stress can build up, that s why it is important to try and remain
grounded. If you want to stay up late and have fun save it for the weekend. Trust me it will makes
your life so much easier. Another difference

The Impacts Of Globalization In China

growth rate peaked at 14.2% in 2007 but slowed to 9.2% due to the impact of the Global
Financial Crisis (GFC) on China s exports and inflows of foreign investments. Hence, in 2015,
China s growth was 6.9%, falling to 6.7% in 2016 and forecast at 6.7% in 2017. Despite these
recent slowdowns, the Chinese economy has seen a rapid rise in overall economic performance

marriage was a further marker of the Scots moving away from the English and establishing their
independence.
Elizabeth de Burgh married Robert the Bruce, long before his coronation as King of Scotland.
She married him at a time of high tension between the two countries and spent first several years
of her marriage either her being hidden away by the Scots or being held captive by the English. It
is notable that she was the first Scottish born Queen in many years.
Anabelle Drummond is an example of a Queen who took an active role in ensuring her son s
accession to the throne after her husband died. She failed in the endeavor but her actions are
notable nonetheless since she did this because her husband, the King, was unable to plan for his
succession during his

Examples Of Injustice In King Lear
Greed; the inventor and enforcer of injustice. The selfish desire for power overtakes all morals and
values, which is shown prominently in the classic tragedy, King Lear. The characters of Lear and
Gloucester discover the effect of injustice through betrayal and the silence of their gods. Their
journeys of self discovery are shown through Shakespeare s use of symbolism, literary devices and
parallelism. Though one could argue that the banishment and dismissal of those close to them
creates an initial catalyst for chaos throughout the kingdom, the fate of these characters calls the
Elizabethan audience to question whether actions or beliefs decide ones destiny.
Shakespeare shows King Lear s experience of injustice through acts of dishonesty

In this scene, Lear states:
Too little care of this! Take physic, pomp;
Expose thyself to feel what wretches feel,
That thou may st shake the superflux to them
And show the heavens more just (3.4.32 36)
In doing so, Lear strips down to show his vulnerability. Clothing is now nothing more than a mask
used to disguise ones true self. Naked, insane, and isolated out in the storm, Lear sees that the Gods
must be capable of torment, after feeling susceptible from the effects of the storm and the isolation.
The emotional violence that Lear endeavours leads to his insanity, which ultimately plays a critical
role in his development of a character.
Similar to Lear s revolution, Gloucester is the mirror image of Lear s ego. Through
Gloucester s lack of appreciation and his selfish acts, he inherits the illusion of trust from him two
sons where only one stays loyal. Injustice causes the turning of Edmund
Gloucester s evil son shown through an un natural uprising of father to son, ending ultimately with
the betrayal between Gloucester and Edmund. Similarly to Lear

The 2015 Maryland Second Chance Act: For Employers Only

In Maryland, public assistance programs as well as housing programs are able to deny assistance
to individuals with incarceration histories or convictions on their records. The Corporation for
Supportive Housing estimates that 10 to 12 percent of former inmates are homeless. Other studies
put the count at between 15 and 27 percent (Law). With such a large percentage of inmates being
released to the streets, it is no wonder that rates of recidivism are so high.
Marylanders need to push for the Second Chance Act to apply to housing, and not solely to
employment opportunities.
Who is impacted?
After a three to five year waiting period, the Maryland Second Chance Act shields conviction
records of individuals with nonviolent misdemeanors. The crimes that are shielded as written in
the bill are as follows: (1)DISORDERLY CONDUCT
(2) DISTURBING THE PEACE
(3) FAILURE TO OBEY A REASONABLE AND LAWFUL ORDER
(4) MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY IN THE LESSER DEGREE [under $500

(5) TRESPASS ON POSTED PROPERTY

Excalibur Movie Essay
Movies can be an incredible source for learning about a topic you re studying. After studying Arthur
it was very interesting to be able to have to opportunity to watch the movie Excalibur. By watching
the movie after you study about King Arthur it allows you to make connections and further your
knowledge about the story. In the movie, Excalibur, there I had three favorite scenes that I
thoroughly enjoyed. To begin, in the movie, Excalibur, I enjoyed the scene where Arthur pulls the
sword out of the stone. When Arthur s father is fighting for his last breath after his final fight he
decides that no one should be crowned king unless they are able to pull excalibur (his sword) out of
the stone he thrusts it into. In the scene that is my favorite,

Live in Myths
This excerpt from Live in Myths, written by Ellen Goodman is a fabulous example of all the
different kinds of relationships and their participants who have an excellent sustainability to spend
their lives living their own myths. A very evident character that the author uses to bring out the true
meaning of this piece is her friend. Her friend is continuously apologizing for her husbands
unapologetic behavior, saying, He is not really like that, when he most definitely has been this way
since the time they first started dating. The woman uses the word cranky is order to describe her
husband and his actions. But the author uses more serious and much heavier words like, erratic
outbursts of anger , which helps us understand the nature of... Show more content on

All these unanswered questions bring out a lot of possibilities because it is not everyday that
we see someone like the woman. It must be so difficult for her to be living with her myth as well
as her man . Here the author personifies her myth as if it is another person altogether with
different personalities. In this excerpt the myth is usually what the person actually wants.
Therefore they believe the opposite person is like that in order to save him or herself of getting
disappointed over and over again. I know of a couple where a woman believes that her husband
never cheats on her. After finding text messages and e mails from the other woman, she yet prefers
to believe that her husband could never do such a thing. She is yet living with the man, though the
man has made it very clear that he is not in love with her anymore and would want her to move
out. But she refuses. She believes she could make him fall in love with her all over again and
then things would get better. It makes me sad every time my mother and I go to meet her. Her
hope for the future gives me the strength to endure all the difficulties in my life the way she did.
But at the same time it baffles me how she could be so blind to her husband s character and yet
believe that she could bring about a change in a man who doesn t even love her

Contemporary stressors Adolescent stress is an important part of their lives and it is important for
it to be monitored regularly in order for them to feel the benefit of learning important stress
management skills. About 39% of the adolescents undergo depression at one point or another and
they seem to handle their problems in a way that is constructive. This stress and depression ranges
from mild to severe with the young people often relying on negative or passive behaviors in their
attempts to deal effectively with their problems. Stress is usually characterized by frustration,
sadness, worry, tension and withdrawal. There are many reasons that lead to stress in adolescents
and younger people. Various studies have been conducted to determine the causes of stress among
adolescents. The A study that was conducted in the state of Minnesota provided information about
the prevalence of stress and depression in adolescents. It was found that one of the stressful events

Compare the ways in which the authors of two texts explore how society treats people who are
different.
The texts Edward Scissorhands directed by Tim Burton and To Kill a Mockingbird a controversial
novel written by Harper Lee both explore the ways in which society treats people who are not like
them whether it is because they look or act different. Both texts demonstrate how a misunderstood
character can be quickly judged through his actions and appearance. Whilst the two texts focus
mainly on appearance as an explanation for the way the characters are treated, they also illustrate
the death of innocence through critical eyes. Harper Lee and ... Show more content on

Using Edward as the mockingbird, all his intentions are is to satisfy his loved ones, preferably
Kim but when he is arrested due to a failed robbery attempt which was set up by Kim s boyfriend,
Edward is almost entirely loathed by everyone except for the Boggs family. This incident clearly
illustrates how society welcomes only those they can take advantage of, and once proven un useful,
they are condemned for life.
In Edward Scissorhands, each of the characters have their own persona, just as the characters in To
Kill a Mockingbird do. Peg and Atticus both have similar personalities concerning the main
characters of the stories. When Peg firsts sees Edward, although at first, she is scared by looking
at Edward s scissor hands, she does not at all think he is weird just because he is different. When
Atticus is assigned to defend Tom Robinson, he does not complain, instead he supports Tom to
the best of his ability. If there are two people who judge Tom and Edward the most, it would be
Bob Ewell and Jim respectively. After the trial of Tom Robinson, despite the fact that he was
found guilty then shot and killed, Bob Ewell menaces Tom s widow, tries to break into the judge s
house and spits on Atticus. Jim continuously makes the effort to threaten Edward with violence,
even after he is sent back up to his house by the township. Mayella Ewell and

The Causes And Effects Of Stress In College Students
Over the last few years, stress levels have climbed 30 percent amongst all college aged students
(Feldt, 2008). Stress is defined as A state of psychological and psychological arousal that results
when outside demands surpass a person s abilities (Zajacova, Lynch, Espenshade, 2005). The
increased pattern of stressis due to more college students determining their success based upon
materialistic measures and thinking futuristically (Zajacova et al., 2005). Unfortunately, a rise in
stress can have many adverse health outcomes for most people. Stress suppresses the immune
system, making it more difficult for your body to fight off viruses that lead to a variety of
illnesses (Straub, 2014). That being said, My Real Age Test showed my inability to manage my
stress was a large concern and will be the focus of my intervention (Sharecare, 2015).
Identifying with having a Type A personality has lead me to be driven but constantly stressed to
achieve high standards in school, and other areas of my life. Unfortunately, not without cost, my
stress has taken a major toll on my immune system. Over the last three years of college, I have
visited the health center 22 times. My stress has affected my immune system s ability to fight off a
variety of viruses from the common cold to pneumonia. Nonetheless, I want to make a positive
change by implementing mindfulness mediation into my daily routine.
Mindfulness meditation involves focusing on awareness of breathing and encouraging

Mary Barton By Elizabeth Gaskell Analysis
Ever hear the phrase, you have to read in between the lines? Authors commonly include broad
metaphors in their works in order for each reader to have their own interpretations of the topic.
In this passage, Mary Barton, written by Elizabeth Gaskell, George Wilson, a worker, goes to
the house of Mr. Carson, who is the owner of the mill where he is employed. He makes this trip
to request help for another worker who is dying of typhus. Gaskell was able to show a clear
depiction of social differences between a town that is heading toward poverty and a wealthy
family living in opulence, allowing her reader to understand the clear message she was writing.
Because of Gaskell s close selection of detail, shiftment of point of view, and inclusion... Show

In the conversation between Thomas and Wilson, one can see that Thomas speaks less properly
compared to the individual he is interacting with. The dialogue reveals that Thomas has an
accent with words such as, mysel instead of myself th instead of the and ha instead of have. A
widespread belief is that the lack of money is equivalent to the lack of an education, which is
displayed to be true within this section of the passage. The stereotypical way to show others one
has money is to speak like it, Thomas obviously demonstrates that he was not taught this manner.
Also in this conversation, Wilson had not said a word. Readers are lead to believe this was in his
perspective, but in actuality his silence shows it was third person. Wilson and Thomas represent
those who grew up in poverty, they either are taught the English language inaccurately or they are
taught to be quiet. The difference between social classes will always stay as a dominant universal
theme within novels, stories, and plays. In Mary Barton, the contrasted is depicted through her
implied metaphors and detailed illustrations. Her characters, the Carson s, exhibit the misguided
acceptance that those in poverty are simple to abandon and easy to replace. Elizabeth Gaskell is able
to compare and contrast the groups of people with her flawless diction,

Biomes are the Communities of the World
Biomes are all over the world, that s why they are considered the world s major communities.
Biomes are large areas scattered around the earth, filled with animals and plants acclimating to their
environments. You can classify biomes in many different ways, by their climate, their biodiversity,
human activity, their animals and plants, and their habitats. There are only five conspicuous types
of biomes, Grassland, Tundra, Desert, Aquatic, and forest. Without biomes, the earth would be
unbalanced. Throughout the years, we have cause a lot of damage towards our earth, such as
causing pollution, and abolishing natural habitats. If we continue living like this, there might be
more serious or severe implications on the biomes. Knowing that we share the world with so many
other species of plants and animals, we should consider the consequences of our actions. The
Aquatic biomeis the most significant out of all of the five biomes. Water is essential and
important for life here on Earth. It s what we all need in order to survive. Water also supports
life, and many different species live in it, or for some parts of their life. Since water covers one
thirds of the Earth, the temperature of the aquatic biome tends to be humid and slightly cool. It is
fairly constant so it can be able to tolerate life. This region is filled with so many different species
of animals some big and some even small. The Aquatic biome is broken into two regions freshwater
and marine

and financial accounting are different in many ways. To begin with, the oldest difference between
these two is that Management accounting provides information to internal users which include

Through the use of just in time systems, there s a greatly reduced dependence on recyclables and
work in process, while done goods inventories should be near non existent. The usage of just in time
inventory gets the following advantages. There is a nominal amount of inventory which is
outdated, because the higher rate of inventory turnover maintains any items from staying in stock
and becoming outdated. Since production works are extremely brief, it is much easier to halt
production of 1 product type and turn to another product to meet changes in customer demand. Also
the low inventory levels imply that inventory positioning costs, such as warehouse space, are
reduced. The business is investing much less profit its inventory, since fewer inventories is

Racial Tensions Between Colored Americans And White Americans
The 1950 s and 1960 s were plagued by racial tensions between colored Americans and white
Americans. Colored Americans were denied equal access to education, jobs, and voting. After
decades of oppression, the colored Americans felt worn out, and had already been through enough,
and were finally ready to fight for change. Although the civil rights movement was supported
mostly by the colored Americans, many white Americans were also ready for change. The
interpretation of the civil rights era was modeled by the Brown vs. Board of education case, the
imperative speech by John F. Kennedy, and the student non violent coordinating committee
proposal.
In June 1892, the Plessy v. Ferguson case established the separate but equal frame for America
and called it constitutional. The entire case occurred because Plessy was sitting on the white side
of the train and despite his light complexion, was still sent to jail. However, equality came to a
poorly limited extent. Some never felt equal at all. Decades later, in 1954, the Brown v. Board of
education case dealt with an African Americanfamily asking for justice in regards to their
daughter s education. The Brown family, like many others, felt as though white children were
seen as more deserving, and more capable, and therefore were receiving a better education than
the colored children. In the Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka (Unger 262) case, Chief
justice Warren, C.J challenged others and asked if the segregation of

Gestational crates should not be on factory farming. I think that gestational crates should not be on factory farms. I think that gestational crates should not be on factory farms. • 3. Deception In The Inferno And Boccaccio s The Deccameron The theme of lying and deception reoccur frequently throughout Dante s, The Inferno and Boccaccio s, The Decameron. In Dante s, The Inferno we meet Geryon, a monster who leads Dante and Virgil into the eighth circle of hell. Dante believes that committing fraud and deception are the worst sin s and he illustrates that through Geryons physical traits, and where Geryon leads them, Malebolge. In Malebolge, the eighth circle of hell, Dante further illustrates the themes of lies and deception by the sinners he meets and the stories he is told. The themes of lies and deception are prevalent not only through the Infernobut, also through Boccaccio s, The Decameron. Throughout The Decameron, Boccaccio uses lies and deception to build his hero s throughout the stories. The first story takes the theme of lies and deception and shows them through the character, Ciappelletto. Ciappelletto lies his way to heaven and ends up being praised by a city upon death, although his whole life he has been a sinner. Boccaccio often uses lies and deception to lead the characters to heaven, compared to Dante who sees how lies and deception have led the characters to hell. Throughout both texts the theme of lies and deception are prevalent and play a significant role in both stories. In Dante s, The Inferno, lies and deception are represented strongly through the monster Geryon. Geryon has many deceiving characteristics that represent lying and fraud. Dante describes Geryon as, His face is appealing like that of an honest man, but his body end in a scorpion like stinger. (Dante 223) Geryon has the face of an innocent man, which represents your typical person committing fraud, like we see in big business today. His scorpion like tail represents the downside to these businessmen because even though they look good at first, they are going to come back and sting you, by committing fraud against you. Geryon takes Vigil and Dante from the seventh circle of hell into the final circle of hell, Malebolge. In Malebolge, Dante and Virgilmeet many sinners who have committed the act of fraud, all of the sinners are punished in unique ways depending on what type of fraud they committed. The sinners in the fourth Bolgia of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Cat Hills Volcanic Cat Hills Volcanic Field for Major and Trace Element Analyses By Nathanael Roybal; Geological Sciences, Undergraduate Research Scholars ABSTRACT This project focuses on preparing samples for major and trace element analyses of the Cat Hills volcanic field. Fourteen rock samples were collected from different locations from the Cat Hills volcanic field. Whole rock samples were crushed with a Chipmunk jaw crusher to obtain gravel sized particles. Samples were separated using sieves with a mesh spacing of 0.0037 inches and 0.0195 inches. Gravel sized samples collected from the 0.0195 sieve fraction were leached in 5% nitric acid for 25 minutes, rinsed in distilled water, and allowed to dry. • 5. What Is The Purpose Of Bureaucracy InJust Do What The... In the articles Just Do What the Pilot Tells You by Theodore Dalrymple and Genocidal Killer in the Mirror by Crispin Sartwell, the authors both support the claim that people appeal to authority through bureaucracy and hierarchy. A bureaucracy is a system of government where nearly most of the important decisions are made by state officials, rather than by an elected representative. Sartwell concludes that people included in the bureaucracy fixed the society to do what they wanted him to do and to react to things a certain kind of way, and Dalrymple understands that everyone has to answer to someone. For example, a teacher has to answer to the principle and the principal has to answer to the superintendent. So, like a hierarchy, everyone has to answer to someone. A hierarchy is a system or organization where people or groups are ranked one above the other according to their status or authority. While both provide some clarification of the same process, Sartwell believes that bureaucracies are the greatest evils of society. And while Dalrymple agrees on the topic, he asserts that nearly most of the time we should follow authority in a technologically advanced society. Dalrymple asserts that the interests of patients come from the hierarchy among doctors and that it s their job to take full responsibility for the care of their patients, Sartwell believes that those included in the bureaucracy mobilized a society to do what they wanted and react to things in a certain kind ... • 6. The Structure And Function Of Cell Organelles The Structure and Function of Cell Organelles Cells are surrounded with a boundary known as the cell surface membrane and as well as holding the cell together, being semi permeable, it controls the movement of materials across it. Within the cell are a number of structures each which have specific functions. These structures are known as organelles. The cell surface membrane and the membranes of any of the membrane bound organelles described below are made of the same material, a double layer of phospholipid molecules. Within the cell surface membrane, the intracellular space known as the cytoplasm, contains all the organelles and a fluid known as cytosol. Within the cytosol is a network of microtubules and fibres called the cytoskeleton. This cytoskeleton s main functions are to give support to the cell helping to maintain its shape and aid the movement of organelles. Most cell organelles and structures are common to both animal and plant cells but there are some differences as outlined in the table below. • 7. Mesopotamia Facts Mesopotamia, the land between two rivers, was one of the world s first civilizations. The most memorable facts about Mesopotamia include that Sumer was the first Mesopotamian civilization where the first written language,Cuneiform, and Hammurabi s Code, first code of law to be documented, were established. I recently studied this civilizationin another course, so facts such as the civilization being known as the Fertile Crescent because of its geographical advantage and that many Mesopotamian civilizations were polytheistic were already part of my knowledge. I didn t, however, know that Hebrews, the first monotheists, originated near Sumer. I am curious to research about Hebrews and find out how long it was until other monotheists emerged.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An already known fact about the Egyptian civilization that was their elaborate burials. They were very architecturally advanced and constructed the pyramids and other complex tombs for the Pharos. The final ancient civilization I read about was the Indus River Valley civilization. This included ancient India, China, and the Americas. India was developed during the Bronze Age and was very advanced because their cities were planned out in a grid format and even had plumbing systems. Their social order is what surprised me the most because there was a group outside of the order, the untouchables, you couldn t move up a class until the next life, and the ultimate goal was nirvana, the union of Atman with Brahman. China established cultural diffusion with the initiation of the Silk Road . I also studied this civilization in a previous course and learned about the dynastic cycle and how dynasties can be overthrown because of the Mandate of Heaven. I lastly discovered that Olmecs in the Americas contributed to society by creating a calendar, building great pieces of architecture, and passing on their traditions to future generations to ... • 8. The Coach Research Paper Sports are a form of entertainment, whether it is playing them or watching them. Yet part of the entertainment is also the audience. The fans can have a large impact on the game itself as well as your experience. We all have that one friend who is way too competitive, whether it involves sports or just who finishes eating first. They cannot choose what things to be competitive at, for that nature is in their blood. The Coach is the most competitive player out of the fans. In a game, you will scarcely, see them sit down, and they are so competitive that they actas if they are actually playing the game. They could be sitting as high as the nosebleed seats and shouting at the players, telling them what to do, as if the players could somehow hear them. Yet they are being obnoxious to the people around them, for, unfortunately, they can hear them quite clearly. Coaches are essentially the backseat drivers of sports. The next fanwe have is the complete opposite of a Coach, hence the quotation marks. Phonies come for the experience, not for the game. Phonies often come wearing all of the team s gear, yet it is all for the aesthetics and for the sports faГ§ade. You may think that the game is on their phone because that is what they ll spend most of their time watching. Unlike the Coach, others will not notice or pay much attention to Phonies, yet you will know they were there because it will be posted on social media or other public accounts. Coaches tend to be stubborn and close minded, so not much bothers them. Except for the Rookie. Rookies are the bane of Coaches. Unlike Phonies, they are genuinely interested in the game. Unfortunately, they know little to nothing about the sport, and the people to suffer are the ones like Coaches. They are constantly asking questions about how it works and what s going on in the game, preventing others from fully enjoying and experiencing the game. Unlike Coaches, Rookies do not bother the rest of the fans, but only the ones they are close with. One good thing about Rookies is that they are honest. Followers also are not completely familiar with the game, yet they try to be discreet about it. They go with the flow of the crowd, yet you ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When looking at the inside the atmosphere looks appealing for customers. The business is also open every day from 6am to 2am with a bus stop close to the business so it is easier to get too when not having a vehicle. Notice that the restaurant is located next to the college. With having a coffee shop next to a college this will mostly attract more college students and also with having live entertainment this should get more customers to come in. There has been one employee that has received four warnings throughout working at Tim s Coffee Shoppe, this employees warnings involve being rude to the customers and to the other employees that also work there. Most of the employees enjoy working there and with their managers. However there is one employee that felt like she was not going to get anywhere by working so she is going to put her two weeks in so she can go work for one of the competitors. One employee suggests that they need to have better cash registers so they do not have to go through the paper receipts to make sure everything is accounted for at the ending of a shift. With the one person that keeps getting the warnings I suggest of letting him go so there is no more problems between him and the customers or employees. When the one employee suggested that the new owner to get new cash registers I feel that it might be a good idea so it is much easier to keep track of what is being sold. Also to keep better track of the mistakes that might happen during the shifts. Also with having better cash registers the restaurant could always start accepting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For the last 40 years Cuba has been under the rule of the Castro regimen, a government who brought advances in education and healthcare, brought electricity to the country side however, ruled with an iron fist when it came to dealing with it s opposition. Sprague-Dawley Rats Sasser et al. reported the results of a two generation reproductive toxicity study in the form of a Final Report (Sasser et al., 1989b) and as an open literature publication (Sasser et al., 1996b). In this study, groups of Sprague Dawley rats (27 females and 20 males/group/generation) were gavaged with 0, 0.03, 0.1 or 0.4 mg/kg/day. Sasser et al. The movie Sergeant York was released in 1941 as a black and white film by MGM Home Videos. Directed by Howard Hawks, this film showed the life and struggles of the war hero Alvin C. York. The main character, York played by Gary Cooper, struggles with the thought of killing as World War 1 breaks out. We also see how York comes to find friends while in the trenches; one of which is Michael T. Ross, played by George Tobias, they grow to be fast friends as the movie proceeds. The Dusty Bowl, also know as the Dirty Thirties, was a period of severe dust storms that greatly damages the ecology and agricultural production of the United States and Canadian plains. Many farmers and ranchers were driven to the Great Plains by the American sense of expansion. The land they inhabited was used primarily for ranching till advances in agricultural mechanization and high grain prices caused by World War I, made agriculture more productive as ever; thus causing farmers to exploit the land in their attempt to make a large profit, setting up the region for an environmental catastrophe. As a result of over farming, a failure to implement dryland farming techniques which would have prevented topsoil wind erosion and a severe drought, 150,000 square miles of land in Kansas, Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico, faced havoc not previously seen in American history. They originate from an oral tradition passed down from generation to generation often in a varied form, drawing inspiration from diverse sources such as the Bible and mythology. As societies gained access to the printed word, fairy tales became less changeable and tended to focus on characters who were transitioning from childhood to adulthood (Abler). For many years now, there has been numerous debates and calls for the House of Lords to be reformed, with some even calling for it to be abolished. Critics say that the House of Lords ignores the will and opinions of the nation, but in reality it constantly speaks up for the rights of the people, especially when the Commons does not. If you re like me, and most college students; you move out of your home and into a dorm which means you must fend for yourself. College really is a whole new world waiting to be explored. However, it can also be frustrating to adjust. So, in this essay as a first year collegestudentmyself, I will be guiding you by providing examples of differences between high schooland college, priorities and how to schedule your time. I think the biggest difference between college and high school is freedom. Everyone seems to love it, we finally begin to feel like we are in control of our future. In high school, most activities are monitored; while in college we don t have adults monitoring us 24/7, but with that newly found freedom comes responsibilities. And I think those responsibilities can be the hardest adjustment for some. Sometimes when we gain so much freedom we don t know how to act. Some students only think about having fun and they put aside the important things like taking care of themselves; when they fall off their normal routine. In college, it is easy for unhealthy habits to form. Some of these habits are staying up late, eating unhealthy, and slacking on chores like laundry. When you start to take on these habits stress can build up, that s why it is important to try and remain grounded. If you want to stay up late and have fun save it for the weekend. Trust me it will makes your life so much easier. Another difference ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The selfish desire for power overtakes all morals and values, which is shown prominently in the classic tragedy, King Lear. The characters of Lear and Gloucester discover the effect of injustice through betrayal and the silence of their gods. Their journeys of self discovery are shown through Shakespeare s use of symbolism, literary devices and parallelism. Colored Americans were denied equal access to education, jobs, and voting. After decades of oppression, the colored Americans felt worn out, and had already been through enough, and were finally ready to fight for change. Although the civil rights movement was supported mostly by the colored Americans, many white Americans were also ready for change. The interpretation of the civil rights era was modeled by the Brown vs. Board of education case, the imperative speech by John F. Kennedy, and the student non violent coordinating committee proposal.
