Describe the relevant criteria that the United States use to determine whether a person is
unemployed and what problems do you see using this measure? Answer Each month they have a
survey of a random sample of households. Each member of the family who is 15 years of age or
older is asked whether he or she is employed or unemployed. If a person works at least one hour
per week for pay or at least 15 hours per week as an unpaid worker in a family business, that
person is counted as employed. If the person is not employed, the question is then whether or not
he or she has looked for work in the past month. If they have, the person is said to be unemployed.
The type of unemployed have seasonal unemployed, frictional unemployed, structural unemployed,
cyclical unemployed. This measure: unemployed rate= unemployed workers/total labor force (b)
Why is frictional unemployment inevitable in an economy? Answer Frictional unemployment is
usually quite short term, and is therefore not of great concern from either a public policy or a
social welfare perspective. Frictional unemployment is unemployment caused by the normal search

3. Analysis Of Bad Day By Daniel Poster
Bad Day by Daniel Poster has been a song that has influenced my life since I can remember. It is
really the first song that i remember hearing from my child hood. Every time it came on the
radio me and my mom blasted it. The song goes through the motion in a third person narrative of
someone having a bad day. I remembered during my childhood when I was having a bad day I
would blast this song and it would make me in a better mood. It really begin the foundation of
music for me. This song spoke volumes to me and it would instantly change my mood when I
heard it. Now when I hear it I instantly am drawn to memories of me and my mother blasting it.
It takes me back to my child hood in a way. I remember my favorite lines from the song was, You
re taking one down. You sing a sad song just to turn it around. Its ironic, but sometimes listening
to sad music will brighten my mood. I related a lot with that verse and the rest of the song. This
is why Bad Day by Daniel Poster is part of my attention collection project. Scooby Doo is another
piece of my attention project. Growing up I didn t really like watching a lot of television, but I
do remember loving the show Scooby Doo. I was interested in always trying to figure out the
mystery of who was the person behind all the mischief. I remember when I was sick I would
watch Scooby Doo. It was a big part of my child hood and I also still like to watch it today. It has
taught me that the real monsters are not the made up monsters

4. Soil Erosion In Iowa
Iowa became a state in 1846 and by 1860 almost the entire state was settled and farmed by Euro
Americans. The settling led to the devastation of prairie in Iowa. The beautiful lush grasses,
forbes, and sedges were being cultivated and planted with crops along with severe overgrazing
and much more. Prairie is a habitat type that gets a lot of focus in Iowa today. It gets so much
focus because it is such a huge part of Iowa s ecological history. Before the advent of white man,
prairie covered approximately 84 percent of the area of Iowa . (Aikman, 1959) Tallgrass prairie is
one of the most endangered ecosystems in North America (Sampson and Knoppf, 1996), with less
less than one percent of its original extent remaining. (Rowe, Fargione, Holland,... Show more

The Conservation Reserve Program or CRP is a great way to conserve soil not just in Iowa, but
all around the nation. Referring to farmers around the nation taking land out of production and
putting it into CRP: As a result of these sweeping changes in the landscape, soil erosion in the
United States has decreased by about 648 million tons a year, dwindling bird populations have
more safe areas for their nests, and less carbon dioxide enters the atmosphere, government and
university studies show (Adler, 1996) Although, the amount of CRP and Prairie is nothing
compared to what it used to be, we have started to make a dent into soil erosion and ecological
processes that we have destroyed. In my opinion, a certain amount of acres in CRP in Iowa
should be mandatory for a certain percent of the cropland that you farm. For an easy example, if
you have 100 acres of cropland that you own, 10% of that cropland should be mandatory CRP or
Prairie, especially along waterways and floodplains. In today s farming industry, small time
farmers have around 800 acres of cropland. In all actuality, all farmers have some land that has
some environmental virtue that farming threatens. This land may sit in a state conservation
preserve, for example, or serve as a buffer between agricultural property and a river or lake. (Adler,
1996) Those farmers with that have 800 acres or more in crop

5. Tax Plan Essay
On Thursday November 12, House GOP leaders unveiled their new tax plan that will according to
Ways and Means committee chair Kevin Brady, will be passed by Thanksgiving. It is being named
the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act which is a better name than the President Trump s proposal: Cut Cut Cut
Act. . While the taxcuts are across the board, this tax plan directly contradicts President Donald
Trump s statement that the rich won t benefit from his plan. He couldn t be more wrong. Under
this new GOP sponsored tax plan the richest of Americans will in fact, benefit greatly. Speaker of
the House Paul Ryan said that this new tax plan will save the average family of four over $1,000 a

Destroying any hopes of potential gains. The TPC in their analysis also revealed that top 1% of
Americans will reap half of all rewards in 2018 under the proposed tax plan if it is passed. The
tax plan isn t just disproportional in the benefits it creates. It also, according to reports, proposes a
fourth marginal tax bracket affecting married couples making over $1 million a year. Other
changes it proposes is eliminating the state and local tax deduction. Complicating the issue even
more and leaving many to wonder, where is congress going to find the money to fill in the gap of
the state and local tax deduction? Congress nor the White House have an answer. But many
economists predict that workers and consumers will end up with the burden of paying it off.
Another important detail about the tax plan that will definitely not help is the new corporate tax
rate proposal. Under our current tax plan, corporations are expected to pay 35% in taxes. The
real percentage that they actually end up paying due to tax loopholes is 18%. That is a 17%
difference. Under the new tax plan the corporate tax rate is not being raised to account for the
17% difference. It is however, being lowered from 35% to a permanent 20%. Many critics of this
tax plan, and surely many economists as well, are trying to articulate how much in taxes
corporations will actually pay. Considering that they almost never ending up paying their corporate
tax rate under every tax

While analyzing professions held by men verses those held by women through history, the concept
of history that needs to be observed is a vast period of time. For if all or most of known history
about humans is not taken into consideration, then much of present day analysis of leadership
gender roles might actually start to make sense. The previous sentence was not an error in thought

Whether the culture is nomadic tribal peoples of Mongolia or a modern day Roman Catholic Italian
American family, the culture and its typical roles for men and women are passed along through
each community.
Tradition is also a source to be traced when looking at a group s historical gender role
development. A people s culture will usually go hand in hand with their traditional values. These
interlaced values of culture and tradition unite and bind families as well as communities together
with one another. When traditions are passed along from one generation to another, sometimes the
idea of questioning said traditions never enters ones mind. Some people are taught that this is just
what you are supposed to do, while others do not want to buck the current culture. This being
said, whatever role a person s gender might have played in their parents life, that role will probably
be the same or very similar in that person s life.
Yet another thread that is interlaced with a people s history and culture is that long, entangling
string of religion. Religion is a powerful source of authority that keeps certain cultures fervent and
ensures the long line of tradition continuation. This holds true for most religions, whether they are
tribal beliefs and customs or mainstream Christianity. The power of the church in a family or a
community can be an overbearing

By stressing their activist and organizational movement skills, the Christian Rightwere able to

Economic inequality seemed to be in a decline or general phasing off starting from the mid 1930s.
However, in part due to the Reagan presidency and regime changes, starting 1981 we have seen a
steady rise in economic inequality in America between the haves and the have not s. Economic
inequality is only emphasized as data shows severely concentrated gains as those in the top .1
and .01 percent earn[ing] four and a half, and nearly seven times, respectively, that of their
counterparts of three decades earlier (234). McAdam and Kloos only emphasizes this growing
inequality over a multitude of statistics that offers compelling evidence that convinces me that
not only economic inequality has been on the rise for some years now but also shows that there
is a possible connection to the slow release revolution of the Reagan administration. While I do
not believe that all economic inequality can be traced back to the Reagan administration, I do
believe that it had a key part in changing the political landscape that would only seek to provide a
prime breeding ground for economic inequality to flourish in America. Poverty also has a way of
rising health inequality, as those with lower income do not have the discretionary spending

12. Theme Of Flowers In Sons And Lovers
David Herbert Lawrence was born on 11 September, 1885 in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire,
England. His father, named Arthur Lawrence, was a coal miner and his mother, Lydia
Lawrence, worked in the lace making industry. Lawrence was a noted author of novels, short
stories, essays, plays and poems, and is nowadays considered one of the most influential writers
of the 20th century (Biography.com Editors). One of his most acknowledged novels is Sons and
Lovers , published in 1913, in which he depicts the life of a working class family: The Morels. In
this book, Lawrence employs symbols in order to the help the reader understand the innermost
feelings of each of the characters, as well as to describe their main personality traits.
In first place, the use of flowers as a symbol of happiness is crucial for the understanding of Mrs
Gertrude MorelВґs feelings. As she was unhappy and disappointed of the life she had, Mrs Morel
tried to find the peace and joy she needed by beholding flowers. This is portrayed in: The front
garden was a small square with a private hedge. There she stood trying to soothe herself with the
scent of flowers and the fading, beautiful evening (Lawrence, D.H. Sons and Lovers. England.

13. The Reasons for the Rise of the Nazi Dictatorship Essay
The reasons for the rise of the Nazi Dictatorship of the 1930 s and 40 s have been a topic much
debated upon by historians for decades. Arguably the most prominent theory is the idea of a
Sonderweg or special path taken by Germany that deviates from the normal path to modernity... the
British way, the first and therefore classical model. There is ample evidence of a Sonderweg
throughout Wilhelmine/Bismarckian Germany, from the lack of a real democracy in 1871 to

Another sign of a Sonderweg in Germany during Bismarck s reign was his attempts to repress
threats through force. Bismarck always held that the best foundation for an alliance was to have a
common enemy. This was illustrated in his Kulturkampf policies in which he attempted to appeal
to the Protestant population in the German Empire which made up 61% of the populous by
restricting and persecuting the Catholic population. For example, in 1872, religious schools were
forced to undergo official inspections carried out by the government and religious teachers were
banned from government schools. Then in May 1873 when the May Laws were enacted, nearly
half of all seminaries in Prussia closed as a result. Bismarck s failed attempts to suppress the threat
of the socialists through use of the anti Socialist laws was another sign of a special German path.
The laws did not ban the SPD directly but instead aimed to cripple it, so that it was no longer a
threat, through various means. Groups meeting who aimed to spread social democrat principles
were banned and trade unions were outlawed. Bismarck also introduced old age pensions, accident
and unemployment insurance and medical care in an attempt to win the support of the working
class and keep them content with the current regime. Despite these attempts to cripple the socialists,
the party continued to gain popular support.
During Bismarck s reign, there were attempts made by him to distract

14. Early Timurid Art
The early Timurid art displayed strong Chinese influences. T. Lentz and G. Lowry found that
cursive and poetic lines and contours in Persian manuscripts might be the outcome of Persians
study of the Chinese literati paintings. Some of the Chinese sketches on Buddhist monks or birds
such as hawks were reproduced in the Timurid Court. The admiration of the Chinese styles was
more evident in the paintings by Kamal al Din Bihzad whose advocacy of Romanticism and
Naturalism had their references to pre modern Chinese still life and landscape paintings. Besides
paintings and manuscripts, the record of trade transactions in Turfan specifies that the major export
from the Central Asiato Chinawas horses, while the imports were robes, silk and paper money. In

The article from Angelo and Cross, while dated, is a valuable lesson and read for educators (and

college teachers gain useful feedback and analyze student learning. The article encourages educators
to review the central aim of college which is to help students become more effective and efficient
learners. Additionally, by focusing on the characteristics of classroom assessment (learner centered,
teacher directed, mutually beneficial, formative, context specific, ongoing, and firmly rooted in
good practice) educators can see what students are learning. Learning is a collaborative effort, both
the educator and student need to work together.

16. Cleopatra as a Historical Figure Essay
Cleopatra as a Historical Figure
In hieroglyphs, the name reads Kleopadra . It is a name which in Greek means Glory of Her
Race (Weigall, 44). It is a name belonging to a woman who has transcended the boundaries of
time so that we may know her story. What better way to describe Cleopatra, the last Queen of
Egypt, Ruler of the Nile, sent from the Gods themselves to lead her people, than Glory of Her Race
? Cleopatra, the last ruling descendant of the Ptolemaic Dynasty, has arguably unparalleled fame as
a female historical figure.
Yet we must ask ourselves: why? What is it about this individual that strikes us as so intriguing that
we, like the Elizabethans before us, centuries ago, like the Romans two millennia past, should ...

Shakespeare s play, Antony and Cleopatra, shows this juxtaposition of the East and West as well,
especially through the characters in the play. The opulence and sensuality of the East is
personified by Cleopatra, whereas the moral solidity and observance of duty is beheld in Octavius.
Mark Antony is torn between the two ideals, his duty as a Roman, and his obvious desire to
indulge in the hedonistic way of the East.
This exoticness of Cleopatra leads to a general view of her, both by the Egyptian and Roman
populace, as having an other worldliness quality about, a strange mysticism. This is reinforced by
Cleopatra s constant referral of herself as Isis, one of the more powerful Egyptian goddesses.
Cleopatra is said to ...have attired herself...that which was supposed... to have been worn by the
mother deity Isis (Weigall, 45). By identifying herself with a goddess, Cleopatra is merely
continuing the custom that the Pharaohs of old used to practice. Isis, whose Latin epithet, Stella
Maris, means Star Of The Sea, is of particular importance to Cleopatra not only because she is an
extremely strong, religious image of feminine power, but she is also often depicted as a
personification of the throne itself, thus

17. What Is The Moral Of The Story By Bruno Bettelheim
Moral of the Story: Analyzation of Fairy Tales Fairy tales have been around and retold for
hundreds of years, ranging from enticing situations and imperative morals to teach and warn
people of all ages. Many have overlooked the underlying message of these beloved tales and
deem them to be farfetched, but these stories are critical to child development. On the Telling of
Fairy Stories written by Bruno Bettelheim, the strong belief presents the notion that verbally
exclaiming fairy tales leaves a lasting impact on adolescent minds well into adulthood. During
the early development stages, the telling of fairy tales educates children how to grasp the
meaning and the power of storytelling. Each narrator, as he told the story, dropped and added
elements to make it more meaningful whom he knew well... narrator let his unconscious
understanding of what the story told be influenced by that of a child (150). A narrator s purpose
is to carry and determine the story through their eyes, what they see is exactly what the reader
sees as readers do not know anything that the author does not know. Each narrator varies their
stylistic approach to the story at large, and the best ones tailor it to the audience it affects.
Especially regarding children, the story should be illustrated in a way where it is appealing to
them and comprehensive to their minds. In this way, concepts can be accepted and digested, but
also understood in their respective way. For example, the excerpt provided a

Higher Rates of Cancer
Indigenous Australians have higher lung, cervix and liver cancer rates than the rest the rest of the
Australian population however the rates of breast, colon, rectum, lymphoma, prostate and
melanoma are lower than that of the rest of the population. [1] The cancers that appear at lower
rates throughout the indigenous community often appear at later stages of life through the age
group that acquires them more frequently through the rest of the population. Due to the shorter life
expectancy of the indigenous community the rates at which these age related cancers occur will
be lower as fewer people are reaching the age where they begin to commonly take place. [2]

Question 3
Food security is a factor that is often a risk for indigenous groups as many groups fall into a bracket
that holds 5% of the population that have food security issues.[8] Proper nutrition is vital for good
health and wellbeing as well as a better quality of life. Therefore, it is imperative that proper
nutrition through foods is readily available to the entire population. If the food security situation
continues to worsen then there will be an increasing number of health issues that arise throughout
the indigenous community continuously.
Another factor that is a definite determinant of the health and wellbeing of the indigenous
community is wealth. The cost for regular general practitioner visits along with the cost of living
can escape the grasp of some of indigenous communities. There is a relationship between self
reported poor health and income and the lower the income the worse the self reported poor health
becomes. [10] This, in combination with the information mentioned in the first paragraph of

20. Fog In Charles Dickens
Charles Dickens diplomatically uses symbolism throughout the novel to portend upcoming
conflicts. The horses with drooping heads and tremulous tails (16) struggled to march up the harsh
conditions of the lofty hill. The horses embodies King Louis XIV, Queen Marie Antoinette, and
aristocrats of France. The rulers and aristocrats eventually face death due to the dissatisfaction of
the people about the dying economy. The horses drooping heads epitomizes the King, Queen, and
the aristocrats heads under the guillotine, which leads to their appalling death. As the passengers of
the carriage, along with the horses, trudged up the the precipitous hill, they had to walk through a
curtain of fog that was enough to shut out everything from the light (16). The fog best exemplifies
the unpredictable future of the aristocrats because they... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the passengers and company hiked up the steep hill, they mashed their way through the thick
mud (16). The thick mud prefigures the difficulties and conflicts the aristocrats have to face in the
end for ignoring the suffering and poverty of the people around them. The story takes place on a
Friday night in November, one thousand seven hundred and seventy five (17). Dickens chose a
night in November because the month has more dark and gloomy weather and color during the
day than luminous and radiant. The month s gloom and darkness foreshadows the many deaths
of the aristocrats and the depression feeling of the lower class. On the Friday night of November,
the passengers were lumbering up Shooter s hill (17) to get the the Dover Mail. Shooter s hill is
steep, muddy, and sufficient with many obstacles. The hill presages the tough obstacles the upper
class will encounter because of their money and arrogance towards the lower class. The setting is a

define homosexuality before stating the author s stance on the issue. The author goes more in depth

As Mao s political enemies were purged, he soon started to build the new type of government
and reconstruct the orders in the nation. First, he believed that only by using a triple alliance of
cadres, revolutionary organizations and the army, which represented the most significant three
parts in the revolution, could China go back to the right track. In order to consolidate this
alliance, Maoist leaders declared that a revolutionary committee was necessary and the only
way to reorganize the political power (Meisner, 331). However, the revolutionary spirits were
not under Mao s control anymore. The proletariat classes, by 1968, were using extremely violent

If stock prices plunge over this period, the index will fall as well, and so will the futures contract on
the index in response. Amana will profit on its future position, because the future price paid at
which the index is sold will be less than price paid for the index at settlement date.
After a month, the stock market falls as anticipated, and the futures price of the DJIA is at an
index level of 19,000. DJIA futures contract are rated at ВЈ10 the DJIA index, so Amana stands to

This shows that Amana benefits from selling a DJIA futures contract. Amana has gained from a

They measured informal sector based on migration unemployment and difference in development in
the two sectors of the economy. This model further explains that the urban rural migration
phenomenon is due to difference between the urban rural income expectations. High volume of
urban rural migration is taking place in developing countries and less developed countries, leading
to high level of unemployment in urban areas; such areas are study areas for this model. This
model states that out migrants move to urban areas expecting higher incomes however their main
source of the income is retained in rural areas i.e. agricultural land. But other literature suggests
that these migrants settle in urban areas and are employed in the urban sector. The model was
extensively followed in the 1960 s, but with the advent of globalisation it became an equally urban
phenomenon. The main reason behind this is that globalisation along with technological
advancement made it easy for people to engage in the informal sector. Hence people increasingly

29. Cause And Effect Of News Media
Becky Johnson
HUM/186
August 7, 2017
Allyson Wells Effects of News Media Essay In today s society, information from the media plays
an important role in our lives. I do agree with the fact that social media companies have a moral
responsibility. We as people depend on the different types of media to provide the information
that we seek. From the news to your favorite artist, we tend to find information to which we can
relate, especially with music. If you are having a bad day there is a song from one of your
favorite artist that you can relate to and it can help brighten your day or lead to a negative effect.
With politics, some people might like what they hear and will protest to get their voice heard by
the public figure or politician to possibly change their views. The Rodney King beating is a good
example how the media influenced people to go on a rampage and riot the city.
News and political opinions work together in a sense. Politician uses news media outlets to
captivate the masses. Without the news media being involved in politics, Politicians couldn t
possibly reach out to the media they are trying to attract. But, with the news media is working
hand and hand with politics to give us views and also opinions. We can choose whether we agree
or disagree with the politics that we are viewing. Things like this can be very influential on our
daily lives.
Do the information media have social responsibility? If yes, in what ways? If no, why not?

30. The Criminal Justice Field Is The Topic Of Offender...
One topic that is a very important in the criminal justice field is the topic of offender rehabilitation.
Offender rehabilitation should be continually studied to find new and better ways of rehabilitating
offenders. This is incredible important especially with the recidivism rates that are seen around the
country. In Indiana, in 2015 recidivismrates increased slightly for the 2nd time in as many years.
Of those offenders released in 2012, 38.2% were recommitted to the Indiana Department of
Correction within three years of their release date, for either a new conviction or a violation of post
release supervision (2015 Adult Recidivism Summary, 2015).
There are several sources that support the issue that recidivism in correctional issues are of real
importance, such as the National Institute of Justice, who believes recidivism is one of the most
fundamental concepts in criminal justice (National Institute of Justice, 2016). The U.S. Department
of Justice and the National Institute of Corrections relate that state sentencing policies have resulted
in historically high rates of offender recidivism with some of the highest incarceration rates in the
world (U.S. Department of Justice, 2016)
One of the points of prison is to prevent offenders from reverting to their criminal behavior after
being released into society. However, the life of an offender does not always prepare him or her

emotions and perceptual experiences. I will start by evaluating an example of a timeless pre

The Mexican gray wolf is a large prey that, in the past, preyed on livestock which contributed to
their near extinction by humans. However, the decline in the Mexican wolf lead to an
overabundance in plant life which had a direct effect on other wildlife. There are many challenges
involved with re introducing wolvesto other stakeholders such as to academics, mangers,
ranchers, or landowners. It is not as simple as taking the Mexican wolf from where they are now
and placing them in different areas in Arizona, New Mexico, the US, and across the border in
Sonora, Mexico. This is a very large area of land that policies would have to cover. The best ways
to illustrate that this concept is not as easy as it may seem are best described by nature culture
dichotomy, social ecological systems involving ecosystems with people, and the Anthropocene
comprised with the idea of humans as agents of change.
Nature culture dichotomy is a Western world view so it is appropriate to use this analytical
approach when discussing the issues associated with the re introduction of the Mexican wolf to
other stakeholders because of the areas where they would be re introduced. The area is important
because the people in these areas will have many of the same thoughts on how they view the re
introduction of the wolves and would possibly react to the re introduction in similar ways. To

34. The Role Of Ethics And Morals Throughout The Life Of A...
The paper is a description of what role ethics and morals play in the life of a Defense Attorney.
While having to support his client a defense Attorney more often than not would have to prove
the prosecution s witness to be fake. The paper deals with the techniques that are followed by an
Attorney to protect his client and it gives us an idea of the numerous strategies that he would
have to adopt to prove his client in the right. Further, the paper is also a discussion upon facts as
to whether an Attorney can purposely cross question a witness, and mislead the court just to
prove his client not guilty. Here the main purpose of the argument starts with the fact whether a
defense attorney is ethically right when he decides to purposely cross examine the prosecutor s
witness just to mislead the court, when he knows that the witness is saying the truth, and does
so only to discredit his answers. From time immemorial lawyers have been condemned and
thought of as conniving people. As early as the biblical times writers have been condemning
lawyers. The great satirist, Jonathan Swift had in his book Gulliver s Travels in 1726 stated that
there was a society of men among us, bred up from their youth in the art of proving by words
multiplied for the purpose that white is black and black is white, according as they are paid. To
this society all rest of the people is slaves. It can be stated that the real reason to conduct Cross
Examination is to find answers to questions of fact.

35. Original Grizzly Bear Flag By Robert B. Ide And Men
California was ruled by the Spanish until the early 1800 s. Around 1822, news that Spain was
backing away from its northern colony reached California and led to some unrest and revolt. The
state became fully independent in 1836 and bears the Red Lone Star Flag which contained a single
red star on a white background. In the anticipation to end Mexican rule over the Free and Sovereign
State of California, Peter Storm designed the original Grizzly Bear Flag which was raised for the
first time in Sonoma, California in June 1846. Of those who raised the first flag includes William B.
Ideand men who became known as the Bear Flaggers. California was part of Mexico since its
independence in 1821. It was called the department of Alta California and a province of New
Spain for many years. William L. Todd, cousin of Mary Todd Lincoln, designed another
California Bear Flag. The star on the flag began in the 1863 Lone Star Flag. From the letter of
William Todd to Los Angeles Express, he said that the star came from using blackberry juice and
in recognition of the California Lone Star Flag, and the bear was made to symbolized strength
and unyielding resistance. Most think that the bear on the first bear flag resembles the grizzly,
but it resembles more of a common American black bear because it shows the lack of shoulder
hump and narrow muzzle. There was a brief history on the original Bear Flag and the republic it
symbolized during June to July 1846. A small group of American

Young people may start to be curious about smoking at some point in time in their life. They might

people do not know that smoking and tobacco use can cause cancer and heart disease. They do not
look into the future to worry about the consequences. Tobaccouse is the leading preventable cause
of death in the United States (Persoskie, Donaldson, King, 2016). In this cohort study, there was
a research if there was an interest about or ever utilization of tobacco items among the US
middle and high school students changed from 2012 to 2014. The research data came from the
2012 and 2014 National Youth Tobacco Surveys of US students in grades 6 through 12

tobacco, and e cigarettes were classified as ever users or never users of each product. The never
users were questioned about their curiosity about each product if they had been definitely, probably,
probably not, or definitely not been curious about using the products.

38. Forrest Thomson Poetic Artifice Analysis
Two Co Option Co option is I argue most clearly defined by Veronica Forrest Thomson s Poetic
Artifice. A text, that pushed back against critics of the previous generation and endeavoured early
on to integrate structuralist thought with post structuralist. This integration between structuralism
and post structuralism can be seen as an attempt to get at the importance of poetry. In an attempt
to stress and illuminate poetry s unique ability to be transformative of both language and the
world. Forrest Thomson in Poetic Artifice demands an intense focus on all the rhythmic,
phonetic, verbal and logical devices which makes poetry different from prose to best consider
this transformative nature. It is in this distinguishing of poetry from prose, and the highly
formalist manner and structuralist distrust of language s transparency in which she follows that
one can also see a similar differencing between the broader spectrum of literature with the
sciences. There is no need in Forrest Thomson s work for differing areas to be inclusive of one
another, to the point of loss of individuality, because of a homogenizing of methodology and
epistemic reasoning. Throughout both Poetic Artifice and her thesis Poetry as Knowledge: The
Use of Science by Twentieth Century Poets, Forest Thomson can be seen to put forward a new
structure, in which separation is crucial for any kind of interrelation between the two fields of
knowledge. She follows a similar stance as that of Kelly

39. Objectives And Objectives Of An Organization
As I ve explained in my previous article, the stakeholders in an organisation are its customers,
employers, employees, government, owners and suppliers amongst others. The stakeholder can
be a person, group or even an organisation that has an influence in a company. Stakeholders are
different from others as they can have a different type of influence on a business. Every business
has aims and objectives. An aim is a more broad term and is what the business would like to
achieve in the long term, where as an objective is more of a short term thorough approach on
how to achieve the long term aim. Detailed objectives are known as SMART objectives, this is a
mnemonic acronym, providing criteria to guide when setting objectives. These objectives go as
follows: * Specific Means that the objective the business would like to achieve is precise and
clearly stated. * Measurable The outcome the firm would like to achieve is a numeric value that
can be measured. * Achievable The objective should be possible by the organisation. * Realistic
The target is what results can realistically be achieved, given available resources. * Time The
objective will be met within a given period of time. Most businesses have general aims which
they can break down into detailed objectives. By arranging aims and objectives; firms give
themselves a sense of direction and purpose. With a general plan in place, a business can set
precise objectives and observe its progress towards achieving

Have you ever wanted to go to a place where celebrities and people can roam free, a place where
a festival is almost always happening, a place that you will never be bored at? Well, thankfully that
place exists! This year I was gifted with the opportunity to go to the Bahamas, the outstanding
culture, the amazing sights and all the breathtaking rides, all reasons why I would like to go there
again.
To begin, my dream vacation would be going to the Bahamas because of all the fascinating places
to visit. In one resort alone there are at least 10 pools. At the beach, the water is always warm and
it is crystal clear. In the Bahamas, there are plenty of extremely fascinating caves to explore. Also,

Leap of Faith slide in the Atlantis that sends you on a vertical drop down 60 ft into a glass tube
surrounded by sharks, except you can see anything after the drop because of the speed. Also,
other than water slides the Bahamas occasionally holds 3 on 3 basketball tournaments where
everyone is welcome to play. There is always an opportunity to swim with sharks on the shark
walk, where you can get up close and personal with the sharks. If the shark walk scares you you
can go to the Dolphin Cay where for the low price of 400 dollars you can tame and ride a
dolphin of your choice. Night time can sometimes get crazy with all of the intense Karaoke
competitions. If you were wondering what you can do at the beach, snorkeling is a great option
since the colourful fish are not shy and are everywhere as far as the eye can see. With all these
breathtaking activities you will need to bring a spare oxygen tank.
The Bahamas is a truly beautiful place, with the welcoming culture, the wonder filled sights to see
and the extreme activities, all reasons why it is the destination of my dream vacation. Imagine this
when you wake up you are greeted by the extremely polite workers and head downstairs to eat
breakfast at a hotel straight out of a James Bond movie, then in the afternoon you visit a beach
and then go ride a couple of waterslides that make you question going back to your regular boring
life. This is my dream vacation, wouldn t it be yours

Q: X.805 security architecture, how it compares with the X.800 network security access architecture
A: X.805 architecture was developed by the Telecommunications standardization sector of the
International Telecommunications Union X.805 (ITU T X.805) on October 2003 to provide end to
end transmission of data from one network to another.
The Security architecture logically separates complicated arrangement of end to end system s
security related features into discrete architectural components. This discretion allows a certain
systematic way to deal with end to end security that can be utilized for planning of new security
solutions and for accessing the security of the current networks. The security architecture gives a
complete, top down, end to end point of view of system security and can be connected to network
components, administrations, and applications keeping in mind the end goal to distinguish,
anticipate, and correct security vulnerabilities.
There are various threats that should be taken into consideration since these threats are likely to
destruct, corrupt remove disclose or interrupt any information or services that helps in the
efficiency of an application.
The main issues that X.805 addresses are shown below:

43. Salem Witch Theory Of Ergotism
In 1692, people started doing strange behaviors such as convulsing uncontrollably, or crying in fear
from a terrifying hallucination such as something dark and scary in their chimney. Due to the lack
of medical knowledge at that time, the citizens automatically assumed it was witchcraft and out of
panic, the Salem Witch Trials began. However, with advanced medical scientific experts around
today, the theory that actual witchcraftwas a thing has been dropped. What remains a mystery is
What was the real cause of the strange behaviors? . The only thing that is certain is that it was not
witchcraft. Even though the reasons behind the strange behaviors is unknown, there are many
theories. One of them is the ergotpoisoning theory. Ergot poisoning (also known as ergotism) comes
from a fungus called Claviceps purpurea. This harmful fungus often sprouts up around grains
such as rye; and a lot of bread is made from rye or wheat. Since bread was eaten a lot in Salem
Massachusetts, this philosophy does have some valid points. The symptoms of ergot poisoning
match what the supposed victims of witchcraft had as well; creating another supporting point to
this theory. However, this philosophy also has some questionable considerations as well such as
the fact that animals used for meat could have given the people alkoid poisoning from eating the
fungus or the grains that it touched; or the fact some scientists also say that the people of Salem
Massachusetts were too healthy to have a

47,725 or about 8% of the homeless population are veterans and 50% of the homeless people are
over 50 years old in the U.S. Homelessness is an unsatisfactory issue that we as humans do not see
the importance of the help they need. In our community, we take things for granted and not worry
about the importance of helping others. The unfortunate people living in the streets have passed
through difficult times and appreciate small or big things. Homeless is a person without a home,
and therefore typically living on the streets. Some homeless people have become abusive of drugs,
alcohol, and other different type of drugs. Homelessnessis a major problem in our society.
Homelessness contaminates our city, makes our city look dirty, and it is priority to fix this
problem. To begin, homelessness contaminates our city and spreads diseases like Hepatitis A, HIV
/AIDS of sexually transmitted infections, virus and Tuberculosis. For example, when the unhoused
go to the public bathroom, sometimes they do not clean themselves or wash their hands. During,
the homeless pass it on to their neighbors or other living creatures and spread or contaminate with
different types of diseases. Homeless contaminate our city by littering on the ground with plastic,
foil, and other types of things that contaminate. Based on what I have seen, one example is when
I go down to the Santa Ana Public Library my mom, sister, and I see that there are various
amounts of trash on the ground. To include, when my family and I pass through the Angels
Stadium in Anaheim I see that there are numerous homeless people that are contaminating our
environment with plenty of diseases. To add, in the short story ВЁWhat do Fish Have to do With

his dirty face when describing the homeless man. As a matter of fact, the author states, his shoes
were torn; he had rough hands that lay upon his knees; and his hand was palm up. No one seemed
to pay him any attention and he begs for money. Because he is filthy, most likely he is carrying
bacteria that may cause diseases. In my community, near the riverbed you can tell that the homeless

48. The European Union And The United States Financial Crisis
By the end of 2008, the European Union began experiencing rippling effects of the United States
financial crisis. Several member countries, most notably on the southern end of the continent, faced
high levels of debt and unemployment. Portugal, Iceland, Ireland, Greece, and Spain, derogatively
referred to as PIIGS, required extensive economic support from the EU in order to repay
government debts and bail out private banks. Disbursal of aid in 2010 proved successful in
promoting economic recovery in some countries; however, the vast majority observed only slight
economic improvement which led to doubts regarding the effectiveness of the harsh austerity
measures implemented. Ireland has most clearly benefited from the financial support of the
European Unionas the country s unemployment rate has dropped below ten percent and is expected
to witness 4.5% GDP growth in 2016. Portugal, on the other hand, shows little fiscal improvement
as evident in an unemployment rate of 13% and an expected GDP growth of only 1.6% in 2016.
Although both countries faced tough financial crises in 2010, Ireland has notably outperformed
Portugal in resolving the situation. The weak economy in Portugal, as well as continued fiscal
hardship in the remaining PIGS countries, threaten the preservation of the European Union as
financial inequality between the members persists. The European Debt Crisis often referred to as
the Eurozone Crisis, struck the European Union at the end of 2009.

The effect of varying the substrate concentration of hydrogen peroxide on the rate of enzyme
activity of catalase from potato peel.
Aysha Shahimi, and Jianyi Liang
Department of Biology, Glebe Collegiate Institute. Ottawa, Ontario
Abstract:
The purpose of this lab was to study the effect of varying the substrate concentration of Hydrogen
peroxide (H2O2) on the rate of peeled potato catalase enzyme activity, on the decomposition of
H2O2. This experiment was carried out by diluting the 6% H2O2 with distilled water to decrease
the concentration, and then placed in a test tube. A small piece of filler paper disc was coated with
the enzyme before it was submerged to the bottom of the substrate hydrogen peroxide solution. The
stop timer was started immediately when the filter paper disc touched the bottom and the timer was
stopped when the filter paper reached the surface. The results of the experiment showed a linear
correlation between concentration of the substrate and the rate of enzyme activity. Overall, as the
concentration of H2O2 was decreased, the rate of reaction had decreased.
Introduction:
This experiment was used to determine the effect of varying concentration of hydrogen peroxide on
the rate of enzyme activity. This was a decomposition reaction of hydrogen peroxide into water and
oxygen gas. The hypothesis of this reaction is that, the rate of reaction will decrease with the
decrease of hydrogen peroxide concentration.

long distances, and none of the technological companies we have today (apple, samsung) would
exist. Screen free week, a worldwide celebration is where kids, parents, schools, and even whole
townships pull the plug on electronics for an entire week. Journalists believe that screen free
week is a huge step to lessening use of electronics among teens around the globe. Many
townships like Hillsborough, New Jersey are debating about pulling the plug and going back to
the books for the entire week of May 4th to May 10th 2015. This screen free week celebration is

seen my supervisor at least once by that current date.
Week 5 Term 2 (22/5/12) I have finished phase one of my personal project report and have
submitted it to my supervisor for marking. I also create a goal in my head of what I want to
achieve and how my product will turn out to be. I record all of what is relevant into my journal in
order to not forget.
Week 7 Term 2 (5/6/12) I have finished phase two of the reports due for the personal project and
have started to list what books I would like to have written down in my journal.
