Heroes exist all around us, fictional or not. They inspire us and often set us on a path of
goodness and justice. USUALLY. Most heroes, realistically aren t as good as we create them to
be. Batman for instance, is one of those heroes. Batman or Bruce Wayne, is Gotham s protector; a
fabricated city in Frank Miller s The Dark KnightReturns. A graphic novel where the batmanhas

This book was very realistic. Every aspect of the book tied into each other so well and managed

The Story to The Story The short story, The Story of an Hour, illustrates the apparent bondage of
19th century marriage. Using setting, symbolism, and dialogue, Kate Chopin skillfully weaves her
argument of a wife s enslavement through the captivating tale of Louise Mallard. Chopin s is a
very emotional story that powerfully depicts the fate of females during her time. (clear and
engaging opening ) Chopin s limited setting for The Story of an Hour exemplifies the limitations
forced upon Louise Mallard and many women of her time. The entire plot unfolds in just a foyer, a
staircase, and a bedroom. In one sense, this represents the confines of her life and the ... Show more

know is that Mrs. Mallard was afflicted with a heart trouble. (Yes, she sets up the ironic ending

responded that she was drinking in a very elixir of life through that open window. In each of
these instances, freedom is the cure for her heart s malady. When, in the end, this life giving
freedom is torn from her, Louise actually dies of heart disease. Though the doctors declared she
