This study looks at how prescription drugs (Rx) and over the counter drugs (OTC) are advertised and
how that potentially effects buying habits of consumers. There have been studies on this in the past but
researchers failed to consider important factors such as age, exposure to advertising, health conditions
of their audience. Results of this study could allow advertisers to consider our findings when
producing advertisements. Consumers who see this study may also choose to do their own research on
the Rx or OTC they consider purchasing. Also, medical professionals that have the authority to write
Rx for their patients would be better informed of how the advertisements are perceived, causing them
to present these drugs more or less. Now, this could negatively affect the pharmaceutical drug industry
financially if doctors stop using their advertisements. However, that is not our goal in this study, just
mearly a side effect.

wanted attention. Him being unprepared and not knowing much about how to survive in the wild

In John Steinbeck s novel, East of Eden, one sees how past events such as the hostile interactions
between brothers, Adam and Charles, effects the attributes of future characters such as Cal. These
proceedings mold and form Cal s character, influencing not only his actions, but also his resonating
self condemnation at the end of the novel. Without these former occurrences, the reader would be
otherwise blind to the curse of the brothers as seen through the parable of Cain and Abel and to the
overriding theme of good versus evil presented not only in the brother s relationship but also in the
scenery of the Salinas Valley.
Furthermore, from the very beginning of the novel, it is obvious, that there was always a favorite
brother. In Adam s childhood, he persisted to be the favorite child of Cyrus Trask. Good hearted and

gift for his father s birthday, a pup, a gift that would service his father until the day he died. This
personalistic gift unlike Charles materialistic gift of a knife, for which Cyrus Trask never used or

Introduction: Every chemical change is accompanied by a change in energy usually in the form of
heat. If heat is evolved, the reaction is exothermic, and if heat is absorbed, the reaction is endothermic.
The energy change of a reaction that occurs at constant pressure is called the heat of reaction or the
enthalpy of reaction (ΔHr). This quantity of heat is measured experimentally by allowing the reaction
to occur in a calorimeter. In this experiment you will determine the heat of neutralization when an acid
and a base react to form 1 mole of water. In a perfect calorimeter, heat is exchanged only between the
reaction and the calorimeters water. Technically, some heat may may be absorbed the calorimeter. All
calorimeters exchange some heat with its environment. This amount of heat is called the calorimeters
heat capacity (the amount of of heat required to raise its temperature 1∘Celsius). We are going to
pretend that our calorimeter is the perfect calorimeter.
Purpose: You will determine the molar heat of neutralization of 1.00 M HCL and 1.00 M NaOH in
Kilojoules.
Materials:
Goggles Graduated cylinder Drying wand Calorimeter Acid and base Thermometer Beaker to transfer
liquids Paper cups

Carefully measure 75 of 1.0 M NaOH in a 100 ml graduated cylinder and pour it into the calorimeter.
Leaving the thermometer out, place the top on the calorimeter. Rinse the graduated cylinder with some

A reason top performing students turn to cheating is because they are told grades are what matter and
they forget school is about learning. Learning is why students go to school and the importance of
learning should be emphasized over grades. In a climate where they re told what really matters are
