Wrestling has been a huge aspect and a great experience of my high school career. Wrestling has

Our body uses various different types of molecules that work together in order to keep us
functioning. One of these molecules is called amylase. Amylase is an enzyme that breaks up the
glucose chains in starch into maltose. Enzymes work to speed up a reaction by lowering the
activation energy needed for the reaction to occur. There are three different types of amylase: О±
amylase, ОІ amylase, and Оі amylase. О± Amylase is commonly found in saliva and pancreas of
many animals. In this experiment, we used porcine pancreatic О± amylase in order to find the
effect of different factors on the rate of the digestion of starch. The activity of О± Amylase can be
affected by the concentration of amylase, the pH of the environment surrounding amylase, and the
temperature that the reaction using amylase occurs in. This indicates that a change in any of these
factors can affect the enzyme, increasing or decreasing the rate that the reaction occurs: in the case
of amylase it indicates the rate that starch is digested, or maltose is created. All enzymes, О±

During the first week of our new nurses in a surgical ward, I was supervising one of the
supernumerary nurses. We were looking after for a thirty nine year old woman, Ms LC, who had
undergone a laparoscopy peritonectomy. We had to start her on a negative pressure wound therapy
dressing or NPWT. The wound clinical nurse consultant and the doctors during their ward round
suggested it, since this would allow the fast healing of her wound.
I showed the supernumerary nurse the proper way of preparing for an NPWT using a non touch
sterile technique, and slowly cleaned the surrounding skin prior to the application of the pressure
dressing. Since, it was the first time of the mentee to perform a pressure dressing. I have provided
my mentee the principles of wound management, so that it will reinforce the knowledge of the
supervised nurse and skills, on the management of an NPWT wound. I also provided the mentee the
protocols and wound management chart to take note of the type of solutions to be used in
managing a surgical wound.

Disparity in cost of reproduction has lead sexually reproducing plants to develop different methods
of dealing with the cost of reproduction, an example of this is sequential hermaphroditism, where an
individual can change sex at one point in their life. Jack in the pulpit, Arisaema triphyllum, is a
sexually dimorphic plant that exhibits sequential hermaphroditism, this study looks to see if female
A. triphyllum will exhibit the largest leaf sizes due to their need to meet higher costs of reproduction
. Forty individuals were surveyed for sex and largest leaf length per area for 7 different locations
within Morningside ravine. Individuals were analyzed for mean leaf length per sex, and means
were analyzed for significance with a 1 way ANOVA followed by a tukey test. All means were
found to be significantly different from each other with the mean of females leaves the largest,
followed by males, and asexual individuals were the smallest. Female individuals of A. triphyllum
had the largest leaf sizes to compensate for their elevated costs of reproduction. The size advantage
model explains that that female A. triphyllum will have the largest leaves because female
individuals are able to best meet the costs of reproduction at larger sizes.

Integration Alignment
Alignment and integration is a key issue that is causing turmoil at SKS Manufacturing as the firm
is not able to have efficient cross functionality. This is due to (1) a lack of technological
integrations as a centralized information sharing system is not being effectively used within
divisions, causing inaccurate data to reflect poor forecasting decisions. (1.1)This leads to the
biggest driver of poor performance, which is inaccurate forecasting as information, is not being
accurately analyzed, causing procurement and production to make poor business decisions.
(2)The divisions are also not aligned as the sales division dumps orders before the end of the
quarter without recognizing if production has capacity to manufacture or even if enough material
is on hand to complete the order, causing delivery delays (A3). (2.1)This leads to incomplete
orders and loss in revenue, which will affect the bottom line as fixed costs remain the same. This is
