It is difficult to capture in a short essay both the historical context and modern celebrations, as well as the unique dance forms, rituals, and traditions in each Indian state. Describing the emotional and spiritual experiences of devotees further complicates the task. While writing about Navratri's intricate tapestry of history, culture, and emotions is formidable, meticulous research and organization can help present an informative discussion.

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

Kidney stone is one of the factors that may increase the risk of developing urinary tract infection.
Though most of the urinary tract infections are not serious but if the infection reaches kidney, this
can lead to serious health problems. On experiencing signs of painful irritation, one should
immediately contact the doctor.
Blood in the urine is one of the signs of painful urination.
Drainage or discharge from penis or vagina can be one of the signs.
Fever can be one of the associated signs.
Women who are pregnant and are suffering from pain during urination may consider it as one of the
signs.
Signs of painful urination may last for more than one day. Patients should contact the doctor on
experiencing such signs and symptoms. Doctor may ask the patient if the signs include fever, flank
pain or abnormal discharge etc.
Cause of Painful Urination
Cause of pain while passing urine is considered to be an inflammation or infection in the urinary
tract. Bacterial infection is mostly the cause behind urinary tract infection. This infection can occur
at any part of the urinary tract including kidney, bladder etc. The bacterial infects the urinary tract
through urethra. In adults as well as children, bladder infection may be the possible cause behind
the pain when passing
4. The Threat Of Homeland Security
Homeland Security was created to protect not only the persons living and infrastructures within
the U.S. but outside as well. Though its existence, homeland security has done a spectacular job
due to the fact that the country is still standing. There are many persons and countries that would
love to see America fall flat on its face. Through corrective policy action and growth within our
intelligence functions we are now as strong as we were before. Nonetheless, Homeland security
may still have its flaws. In recent events, we have seen mass riots such as that in Ferguson, Mo
and lone wolfs attacks in the U.S. This has caused the activation of our National Guard. The
military plays a large part in overseas accomplishments and also plays a part within our borders.
For military members to be utilized on U.S soil they must first be activated by way of Title 10
orders. Before this can happen, the in state governor must first place a request for military
support. That request is then routed to congress for approval. Military presence is used more so
in augmentation on a temporary basis until local authorities gather enough forces to disperse the
situation. The military also has a larger role to play in securing our homeland. If you look up
and the sky you see a lot of space with these small lines in it that streak across the sky. These are
most likely our fighter jets patrolling our friendly skies. This was pivotal in the response during 9

5. Some Notes on Branding
I.INTRODUCTION
Branding is a plan for earning product reputation and for making sure that the world knows about it
and believes in it too.
Branding is the process by which companies distinguish their product offerings from the
competition. Brands are created by creating a distinctive name, packaging and design. (Egan
Thomas, 1998)
1st Brand name= Bass [beer], because British were the 1st with trademark registration.
Customers (particularly consumers) view a brand as an important part of a product and branding
can add value to a product. A brand can provide a guarantee of reliability and quality, in fact.
Ex. Chanel perfume bottle.

A manufacturer has four sponsorship options. It can launch the product as a:
A. Manufacturer s brand: A brand is created and owned by the producer of a product or service.
B. Private brand: A brand created and owned by a reseller of a product or service. e.g. Tesco Value,

пѓјHard to establish, costly to stock and promote.
пѓјHowever, they can find manufacturers with excess capacity that will produce the private label
at low cost; hence higher profit margins, retailers can decide to stock them more and decide which
shelves they go on.
пѓјAs store brands improve in quality and as consumers gain confidence in their store chains, store
brands will continue to pose a challenge to manufacturer s brands.
C. Licensing: A product or service using a brand name offered by the brand owner to the licensee
for an agreed fee or royalty.
e.g. a lunchbox manufacturer pays Sesame Workshop to put Sesame Street characters on their
lunchboxes.
Corporate brand licensing: The fastest growing form of licensing. A firm rents a corporate
trademark or logo made famous in one product or service category and uses in a related category.
e.g. Porsche sunglasses and accessories.

6. How Does Bergman Use Mis-En Scene In Cries And Whispers
Cries and Whispers was one of Bergman s successful films and one of the most unique. Bergman
plays with themes of death and religion in this film, and Sven Nykvist s brilliant cinematography
helps exemplify these themes. The sequence following the opening of Cries and Whispers depicts a
saturated, red interior and introduces the audience to the four main characters. Bergman s use of the
mis en scene, soundand rhythm, and camera proximity in addition to the acting, portrays how this
sequence is quintessential of the filmas a chamber film. The sequence starts after a red fade out
from a longshot of the landscape, which will be more relevant later in the sequence. Set in a stately
mansion, the sequence introduces the viewers to a bright red... Show more content on

Before the sequence begins, there is a montage of the landscape surrounding the mansion. Agnes
constantly looks to the outside world and landscape. After Agnes puts her glass of water back
on the bedside table, her gaze lingers on the drawn window (shot 11d). This frame harkens to
other Munch paintings depicting an ill woman dying in bed, gazing out an open window. The
woman in the paintings looks to the scenery beyond the window as a heaven yet to come when
death finally arrives. Agnes short gaze on the window implies the same. While the viewers do
not see get to see landscape in this shot, they see it through Agnes point of view when she goes
to draw one of the blinds in her room (shot 13). The view outside her window is peaceful and
inviting. However, the view of it is obstructed by the window panes. Bergman hints at the outside
world as an escape that is so close within reach, yet so far from attainment. This seems to comment
on Agnes longing to be outside and escape solitude as well as her acceptance that she is confined
to this retched red room because the following shot captures her looking down forlornly (shot

9. Doing Business in Another Country
Executive Summary
In order to successfully introduce a product into a foreign market it is important to know the culture
of the country you plan to do business in. In order to introduce mobile handsets into a market like
Venezuela, the supplier must be well acclimated with the purchasing habits, tastes, and willingness
to purchase the product that is being sold. Understanding these things starts with building a
knowledge base about the major aspects of the culture and your target consumer. With this being
said I am providing a brief overview of the country of Venezuela.

This is very intriguing for a society that has a high unemployment rate. Most of Venezuela s
population finds itself educated because public education is provided. Even though education is
free, there is an astounding 20 % of the population that has received no formal education at all.
This is outrageous because Venezuela has a compulsory educational system, which means that
people are required to by law to go to attend school for 9 years. This shows that even though
education is provided for free there are still families so poverty stricken that they are not able to
send their children to school; because they need to work to provide more support for the
families. The children that do go through the public education system can attend Universities
which are also free. Although the education in Venezuela is provided for free, this is also a
reason why the education system is not the greatest. Providing education from grade school
through college stretches educational funds thin, which results in each level of education being
under funded. It has already been established that the majority of the people of Venezuela are
literate. In this society there are jobs that require the certain skills such as a lawyers, judges,
politicians, or businessmen etc; but in the society as a whole basic skills are being seen as all that
is required for the average person. As mentioned earlier Venezuela is a society that relies heavily on

Postpartum Depression and Parent Child Relationships

Introduction
Postpartum Depression
Depression is a major public health problem that is twice as common in women as men during the
childbearing years. Postpartum depression is defined as an episode of non psychotic depression
according to standardized diagnostic criteria with onset within 1 year of childbirth (Stewart D., et.
al, 2003, p. 4). For women aged 15 to 44 years around the world, Postpartum Depression is second
to HIV/AIDS, in terms of total disability (World Health Organization, 2001). Depression has a

42). The stress of caring for a newborn or even the circumstances surrounding labor and delivery
may cause the first symptoms of PPD. Initial stressors related to labor, delivery, and bringing the
baby home give way to new triggers (Dieta et al., 2007, 1516). Infant temperament can intensify
or minimize a new mother s PPD symptoms depending on the child s sleep patterns, frequency
of crying, being easygoing or demanding, and whether or not baby is socially reinforcing with
smiles and coos (Perfetti et al., 2004, p. 57). Increasing guilt, overwhelmed feelings by child
care responsibilities, and fear of being unable to cope can cause the mother to show less
affection to her baby, and be less responsive to his cries (Kabir, 2006, p. 698). The infants in turn
tend to be fussier and distant making less positive facial expressions and vocalizations (Beck C.,
2006, p. 42). Hostile effects on the child continue throughout the first year after birth, but PPD
places children of all ages at risk for impaired cognitive and emotional development as well as
psychopathology (Beck C., 2006, p. 42).
There are many different implications for why infants of mothers with PPD would be at risk for
developing the inability for emotional regulation and healthy attachment relationships. Infants that
fail to develop these abilities exhibit insecure attachments to their mothers (Peindl et al., 2004, p. 41

When you think of the word poverty or poor what comes to mind? Some think of hunger,
minorities, dirty areas, women, and homeless people. What about when you hear the term abuse ?
For most people, abuse means physical; getting beat up or hit. Although abuse can mean getting
beat up or hit, there is far more that follows. Abuse can take on many forms like physical,
emotional or sexual. The filmPrecious by Lee Daniels, based on the novel Push by Sapphire,

These stereotypes are very disadvantaging to the African Americanrace because they are putting out
messages that you have to look a certain way to be attractive.
Although this film is disadvantaging to many people, it is also very beneficial. I think people
that come from the lower class or an abusive household can really benefit from this film. The
main point of this film is to show people that you can achieve anything you want to do no matter
what background you come from, and although it might be hard because of economical
/ personal issues you are not less of a person than anyone and you can still be successful. I love
the idea of success because it doesn t really have a set definition. You don t necessarily need
money to be/feel successful. You can work at Subway and still be successful while a twelve time
Oscar winning actor can be successful. You sort of carve out your own success and make your
own definition for it. This movie will also teach people that they are not on their own. Although
you might think nobody is there for you, when you enter a room you don t know what everyone
is thinking or how everyone feels; you might now even know everyone. It is kind of like when
you re putting together a puzzle, you put certain pieces together and you get closer to finishing
and you just need to keep trying to solve the puzzle because if you give up you just wasted your

Stephen King is perhaps the most widely known American writer of his generation, yet his
distinctions include publishing as two authors at once: Beginning in 1966, he wrote novels that
were published under the pseudonym Richard Bachman. When twelve, he began submitting
stories for sale. At first ignored and then scorned by mainstream critics, by the late 1980 s his
novels were reviewed regularly in The New York Times Book Review, with increasing favor.
Beginning in 1987, most of his novels were main selections of the Book of the Month Club, which
in 1989 created the Stephen KingLibrary, committed to keeping King s novels in print in hardcover.

In the Nurses Health Study II, increased body mass index (BMI) correlated with an increased
incident rate of psoriasis, and hip circumference and waist to hip ratio were all associated with a
higher risk of incident psoriasis. 37 The psoriasis that are associated with metabolic syndrome and
increase risk of cardiovascular disease are non alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and chronic
plague. . NAFLD is the hepatic manifestation of metabolic syndrome, with its key component
being visceral obesity. 38 The prevalence of NAFLD is 10 24% of the general population
worldwide, increasing to 57.5 74% in obese individuals. The mortality was increased in patients
with NAFLD compared with the general population and in the National Health and Nutrition
Examination Survey (NHANES III) study, the NAFLD cohort had both increased overall
mortality and liver related mortality compared with individuals without liver disease. 39 While in
most patients, NAFLD does not progress beyond simple steatosis, it may progress to Non
Alcoholic Steato Hepatitis (NASH). The prevalence of NASH also correlates with obesity, with
waist to hip ratio and abdominal obesity reported to be predictors of NASH. Diagnosing patients
with NAFLD and identifying those with NASH is challenging, as they are generally asymptomatic.

16. Comparing the Teotihucans and the Sumerians Essay
Comparing the Teotihucans and the Sumerians
Written language was an important milestone in human history. It enabled the recording of
history, dreams and tragedy. It allowed for commercial and historical record keeping. It allowed
human beings to imprint thoughts on paper, for sharing, later review or just for fun. What about
societies that never developed a written language? Could such a society rival one with that has?
When advances of Sumerian city states are compared to that of Teotihuacan there are a few
instances where the Mesoamerican city appears to be more advanced. However, if ranked these
appearances do not place Teotihuacan ahead of any one of Sumers Mesopotamian city states.

Within these huge stepped cities within cities (49). an entire workforce was busy with the
affairs of civilization (49). Field workers would farm temple lands to provide for the massive
amounts of food that was distributed. In Lagash for example, food was prepared for 1200 people
on a daily basis (49). Though the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon in Teotihuacan were not as
elaborate as Sumerian Ziggurats, each civilization shared a Cosmo magical characteristic.
In Sumer, royal burial sites were so elaborate, that only specialized artisans could possibly have
constructed them. According to the text, arches, vaults and domes were new levels of architecture
found in burial tombs of the elite. In addition, elaborate funeral objects of gold and silver were also
found with the dead. Sumerian arts and inventions flourished. The wheel itself, which led to the
potters wheel and wagon wheels, were apparently invented in Sumer. (49). This lent sophistication
to pottery and increased efficiency to farming. The Bronze Age found its origins in Sumerian
civilization, which put metal tips on hoes, axes, arrowheads, daggers and many other tools. In
Teotihuacan however, the economy thrived on agriculture, craftwork, and trade in ceramics and
quarried obsidian. (98) There was no evidence in the text or lecture notes that they had achieved the
amenities of the Bronze age.

when I get some goals. When I got the first goal, I got so excited I couldn t believe it, and I just
had a smile all day. While I was looking up videos of soccer, I figured out that the soccer players

Life and Contributions of Sir Robert Peel to Criminal Justice Today Sarah Hamrick Introduction
to Criminal Justice Instructor: Chris Beddingfield Robert Peel was born on February 5, 1788 in
Bury, Lacashire ( BBC History Sir Robert Peel, 2014). He was born to a wealthy cotton mill
owner. Peel was trained as a child to become a politician(Simkin, 1997). Every Sunday afternoon,
his father would require him to recite both sermons he has heard that day (Simkin, 1997). Peel
was educated at Harrow School, and Christ Church, Oxford where he won a double first in

Peel s father bought him the Parliamentary seat of Cashel in County Tipperary (Simkin, 1997).

US Involvement In the Korean War President Truman s desire to stop communism in the Korean
Peninsula resulted in the decision to join the Korean War. The catalyst for the United States
involvement in the Korean War is mostly due to the fear of the spread of communism, which was
caused by North Korea s encroachment and intimidation of South Korea, as well as the desire to
silence the Soviet Union. Other factors attributed to US involvement such as the Truman Doctrine,
the Domino Theory, and McCarthyism. The United States has a profound fear of communismand
honestly I think most, if not all, countries do as well. Communism according to Wikipedia, is a
social, political, and economic ideology and movement whose ultimate goal is the establishment of
the communist society, which is a socioeconomic order structured upon the common ownership of
the means of production and the absence of social classes, money, and the state. In plain terms, it
is a form of government in which no one owns anything, it all belongs to the state and everyone is
equal no one is above anyone else.
Now to some people that must give a euphoric feeling to have everyone equal. Well, the one deadly
factor that leads to disasters, anarchy, and deaths is us. The humans. Humans cannot live with
everyone being equal. We still have the biological need to make things ours and communism

I would suggest the Montrose Center to help the non Texas Residents with as much information as
they can before the LGBT individual does something harmful to themselves and others. Only thing

23. Development Stages of a Child
According to Freud, the child develops socially through a series of psychosexual stages e.g. oral,
anal, phallic, latency and genital. The first three psychosexual stages are focused on more as they
span the important first five years in which the id, ego and superego develop. Fixation, when
libido (sexual pleasure drive) is locked into a stage, determines personality and is caused by either
frustration or overindulgence. If a child is fixated in the oral stagefor example, as a result of
frustration, the adult will be characterised as envious, pessimistic and sarcastic. Freud believed
normal development occurs when a child does not fixate on a stage.According to Erikson, the
child develops socially as they pass through eight developmental stages, referred to as
psychosocial stages, which are each characterised by a psychological crisis. The psychological
crisis must be resolved in each stage before the child can move on to the next. Each stage also
has two possible outcomes e.g. negative or positive and it is successfully completing each stage
that results in a healthy personality and sense of self. Failing to complete a stage means the
ability to complete further stages is reduced and personality and sense of self can become negative
and unhealthy.According to Kohlberg, children develop socially by developing a sense of right,
wrong and justice. There are six stages of moral development which are divided into 3 categories
e.g. premoral and preconventional stages,

24. Animal Imagery In Fairy Tales
Historiographical Essay Over time, historians have interpreted the use of animal imagery in
western folk and fairy tales as a means for providing entertainment and moral lessons to western
society. However, many historians have different ideas about how animal imagery and
stereotypes actually affect a society besides keeping away from wolves and bears and such. Dr.
Jack Zipes, a professor of German and comparative literature, promotes in his paper, What Makes
a Repulsive Frog So Appealing: Memetics and Fairy Tales, that the story of The Frog Prince is
actually a story about the strategies of mating and how the frog symbolizes its appearance of an
unsuitable mate to a suitable one. In addition to how specific animal stereotypes and... Show more

Whatever the minor variations, Zipes argues that there are elements that are the same throughout
that become the metaphors that strengthen his mating strategy theory. Starting at the beginning,
the princess is young and has reached puberty, most likely with her golden ball symbolizing her
virginity and purity. She brings out the ball to play with as a means of showing her availability
and losing the ball in the water is representing how she is testing out the waters for suitable
mates. However, an unsuitable mate, the frog, shows up and she rejects him. This rejection, Zipes
argues, reflects the rejection by women who were forced into arranged marriages by their fathers
either based on appearance, age, or wealth. However, the princess s father says she must do what
the frog says, which is to sleep in her bed, which further symbolizes the struggles of an arranged
marriage. However, in the 1857 version of the tale, the princess throws the frog against the wall to
show her sexual independence, because she knows that she must bear an heir and that he will be an
unsuitable mate that will neither make her children healthy and strong of give them financial
security. Through this display of sexual independence, and the frog transforms into a handsome
prince, becoming a more suitable mate for the princess . In a contrasting point against the external

The purpose of the literature review was to determined the effects of athletic participation on
academic performance and if there were differences between the male and female athletes of the
Mennonite High School. In order to determine whether participating in sporting events have an
impact on the student s academic performance, the researcher collected existing data during the
sportseason period, there the participants assessment grades (AG) were calculated. These scores
were compared with the immediate post season average to see whether there was a significant
difference between the scores received during and after participating in their various sporting
activities. There were studies done that found that the participationof student athletes may not only
have positive effects on their academic achievement but there may also be positive effects in other
areas of their adolescent life. According to the National Federation of State High SchoolAssociation
(NFHS), students who became involved in sports or extracurricular activities promote lifelong
lessons in teamwork, self discipline; facilitate the emotional development of the youths. The
National Federation of State High School uses several sources to support their claim that students
who participate in activity programmes have better academic averages, better attendance records, a
lower dropout rate and fewer discipline problems (NFHS, 2002, p.2). March (1992) found that

26. Parenting Styles and Child Rearing
Parenting style is very important in child rearing and can have consequences in the way that a child
develops and can have long term effects on children and their personality later in life. Diana
Baumrind developed her ideas of parenting styles and their effects by studying 100 preschool
children and their parents. Although most of the subjects of her study were Californian middle
class European Americans, thus not offering much diversity in her study, the results were very
persuasive and interesting. Baumrind found that parents varied on four dimensions: expression of
warmth, strength of discipline, communication, and expectation of maturity. Using these
dimensions as the basis Baumrind developed three main classifications of parenting... Show more

Finally there is a fourth parenting style which isn t grouped with the other three this is the
neglectful/uninvolved parenting style which is described as an indifferent approach towards
parenting where the parent isn t aware of the child s life, the parent is just uninvolved and doesn
t care to punish or praise the child. There are implications depending on the type of parenting
style that was used on the child. If a child grew up with authoritarian parents for example would
grow up to be well behaved, obedient but unhappy, likely depressed, and would also likely leave
home before the age of 20. Children that grow up with permissive parents would grow up to be
dependent on parents living at home into adulthood, would lack emotional control, self control and
would be unhappy as adults. Finally the child that grows up with authoritative parents, it seems
would grow up to be the best adjusted out of the three styles. A child with authoritative parents
would be well adjusted, happy, generous, and successful. They are also well regarded by others
especially in western individualistic societies. Now the text does warn that the parenting style
which ends up working the best for each child should be dependent on various factors such as the
child s temperament, these are after all generalizations. Parenting styles and the consequences of
parenting styles is very interesting because it can help parents ensure that their child grows up to be
well adjusted. If parents

Analysis of Hercules Poirot:
Hercules Poirot is a cunning belgian private detective. He is a very plain character, and troughout
the film, he does not undergo any changes to his personality. His plain character is very
characteristic for the british crime fictions. This is aimed, towards keeping the puzzle in the center
of attention.
Poirot would never engage in violence, instead he uses his famous little grey cells to solve the
puzzles. Poirot does not believe in coincidences, which is seen several times in the film. Even
though he is little, he stands tall.
From start to finish Poirot is teaching Hastings about being a detective, and how to catch the real
clues. This is very common in crime fiction, and it tends to happen quite often in crime novels and
films. This also happens in the Sherlock Holmes novels/films, where Sherlock Holmes is teaching
Dr. Watson how to think, and how to observe.
Poirot is very smart and guileful, in the way he plays tricks on the murdered peoples relatives. He
is a man of pride and dignity, and in his own eyes he is the best detective in the world.

I was asked to choose a piece of art, book, or musical that impacted me and how I view the world.

trying to become what the majority of people would have them be. Years ago I had a personal

Sometimes this can sprout deeper issues, when I had a brush with this I decided that letting
someone s subjective version of normal decide who I strived to be was unhealthy and irrational.
I ve learned that unless you re comfortable with yourself you will never be comfortable, this
inane chase after normalcy can make you feel anxious or depressed. It can also make you feel
wrong, wrong for thinking the way you do or believing what you believe. Then I realized it
doesn t matter what people think of me, that felt amazing to finally understand. That all of these
opinions and labels only applied if I let them, they didn t matter unless I chose to use them

after becoming comfortable with who I was I didn t dread leaving my house. I was able to enjoy
myself without being afraid of who might be watching, I was able to be myself for the first time in
a long time. What people in future generations need to understand is that not everyone has the same

character in House on Mango Street, is a young girl who looks at life from an experience of
living in poverty, where many do not question their experience she did, maybe on accident, but
for the better. As a young girl Esperanza is asked one day where she lived by a nun from her

When the nun rudely said You live there (Cinceros 5) and pointed at the shoddy apartment

Anthem: A Scuffle with Collectivism Anthem / anTHem / noun 1. A rousing or uplifting song
identified with a particular, body, or cause. Ayn Rand has changed and manipulated the definition of
Anthem. Anthem by Ayn Rand tells the story of a street sweeper named Equality 7 2521 that
discovers individualism in a collectivist society where individualism is strongly discouraged.
Throughout the novel, Anthem conveys themes of governmental monopoly and the loss of
individual identity. A theme explored by Anthem is the loss of individual identity and the struggle
to find his individualism. The time he found his own identity was when he ran into the forbidden

37. Benefits Of Lucid Dreaming
All You Need to Know About Lucid Dreaming
Chapter 1: Overview of Lucid Dreams
Dreams have played a very crucial role to cultures through the years. The aborigines have believed
that the stories of the world very start as the realization of their dreaming. Native Americans have
believed that their dreams are doorways to the spiritual world, ways to quests and prophecies.
The concept of lucid dreaming is not something new either. Aristotle is considered to be the first
one to write about lucid dreaming; however, he did not coin a term for it. Certain Tibetan
Buddhists have been practicing dream yoga for a long time, which is something similar to lucid
dreaming.
The ultimate goal of dream yoga is to examine your consciousness and give you to a state of
constant awareness. Bulk of the principles governing the Buddhist belief is to be familiar with the
world for what it is, without illusion. A lucid dreamer is familiarized with the dream world for
what it is a dream. As you dream, you go with the flow of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The advantages of lucid dreaming start with being able to promote stress relief through your
dreams; although lucid dreaming can have a lot of other concrete advantages in your own life.
Following are just some of the known benefits of lucid dreaming:
Facing fears many lucid dreamers utilize lucid dreams as a means to deal with their phobias or
overcome their nightmares. You can set up your lucid dreamto deal with a worst case situation, so
you will already know that you can surpass it. You may also use your dreams as a means to
gradually experience your fears and to discover how you can surpass them. For example, if you
are afraid of creepy crawling insects, you can make your elf face these creatures in your dream,
knowing that you can wake up at any time. You ll soon find yourself getting over much of your fear

Someone who robs or commits illegal violence at sea or on the shores of the sea is, by definition,

With technology changing it is difficult to keep up with the progress. The piano today varies from
the piano in the classical romantic period in ways such as:
The modern Piano has 88 keys (52 white and 36 black), allowing the artist to emote with music.
Each key corresponds to two or three strings. The base notes have long strings and the higher the
notes go, the shorter the strings get. There are 100 parts to each key and 30 adjustments can be
made to each key. (LifeIsMusic, 2015).
Something else that has changed within the past few decades is that, since the Classical Period,
almost every middle class to upper class family had a piano in their household and it was
expected that every member of the family was to learn to play it. Because of the way technology
has been moving, music has been primarily heard through phones or laptops and could be made
through other sources of technology too. Unfortunately that means that the life of the piano has
been at a standstill within chamber music. Thankfully, a lot of composers today have kept the
piano in their works and it is just as important as it was during the Romantic and Classical

Data collection can be subdivided into three categories with service type, department, and floor.
This collection of data is valuable tool that managers need to have in order to understand the
flow of business within each department. With the collection of data it will allow managers to
calculate the volumes of patients during specific times. The SST will require data collected
from all computers used to monitor access to the admission system. Additional data will have
specific times at which the patient reported to various stations of treatment, and when the patient
was discharged. A multivariate trend forecasting method will be more appropriate in this
setting; the use of multiple variables about the item being forecasted allows seasons and cycles
to be combined with other variables and improve forecast accuracy (Langabeer, 2008). This will
give operation managers better forecasting abilities as they will be able to see trends. Finally, the
SST will need to analyze the amount of resources or assets available to serve demand (Langabeer,
2008). Quantitative data needed to measure capacity will include: the number of available beds
and treatment rooms, the number of key providers and other staff available at each point of care
between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., and availability of key medical technologies and equipment.

Xuela is seen as she wants to be seen. There is no objectivity. The only way the reader comes to
know and understand Xuela is through her own words and her descriptions of the world around her
(Schine 5).
Another distinctive aspect of Kincaid s writing is the author s relentless use of repetition. It is
hard to find even a single page of the novel that is not deeply woven with repetition. The phrases
I know and I did not know constantly resonate throughout the novel. As Xuela comments on her
father, That I was a burden to him, I know; that he did not know how to take care of me by
himself, or how to clean his own clothes himself, I know (Kincaid 4). Xuela defines herself by
what it is that she knows and what it is she does not know. For her, there is no median. Xuela
says she would rather be all dead or all alive, but never half of one and half of the other (106).
Those around her are either kind or unkind; they are native, or they are foreign; they are sensual,
or they are repulsive. It is one way, or the other. There is no gray area. Kincaid uses the repetition to
emphasize this polarizing characteristic of Xuela.
However, it is the things that Xuela does not know that are truly definitive of her nature. She
comments:
At that moment there were so many things I did not know, not including the big thing I did not

electrical device designed to protect a computer against the harmful effects of power surges and
spikes and sudden outages, they can contain up to 120 volts or more and they are also
inexpensive. They run around to be about twenty to forty dollars depending on which brand you
buy. The most recommended brand that will last long but is really good for its price is Belkin or

Sociology is the research and analysis of the human society; meaning sociologist examine why we
behave the way we behave, what affects our behavior, and if ordinary things are more complex
than they seem. When developing a sociological perspective it makes the familiar strange (Conley,
3). When someone is trying to think as a sociologist it is encouraged to question aspects in your life
that you thought were normal, which conveniently can make you feel unsure about what lifestyle
you are comfortable living in. A sociological perspective is gained when you learn to think through
a sociological lense that challenges your mind to new levels of thought (Godwin, Lecture). When in
rhythm with your sociological mind you reflect on new personal... Show more content on

Was I being selfish to? Did I not want another animal to be put down in the pound? Was I
influenced by my friends who had dogs? Questioning your views on details in familiar everyday
life can cause you to feel uncomfortable or like a fish out of water (Conley, 6). Feeling the
uncomfortable and unsure state while being outside of your normal element means you are in
sync with your sociological imagination. Sociological imagination can be defined as the ability
to see the connections between our personal experiences and the larger forces of history
(Conley, 4), meaning you can see how your past decisions have shaped your life into the one you
are currently living. An example would be, children. They are raised to the standards of their
guardian and are taught what is right and wrong and how to live to the guardians standards as
they grow up. Children now have a personality that is shaped by the guardians that can impact
what type of people they will grow up to be. Some kids can be kind and outgoing while others
can be abusive or even shy. When the children are older and more mature they may look back on
their childhood life and realize certain life experiences has shaped them into the adult they

55. The Tragedy Of Timothy Lawrence
There was no question about it. Helios was doomed.
Timothy Lawrence could feel the massive space station shudder as it started to be pulled towards
the surface of that hated planetb Pandora. As soon as he saw Jack s face appear on all the
monitors in their apartment he had gone to his computer to try to get the digital man s attention.
Thus far, he had been unsuccessful and now, for some reason, Helios was going down.
He cursed loudly as he typed frantically at the terminal s keyboard. Jack. Jack you ASSHOLE.
Answer me! Never before had he regretted not learning more about computers than he did right now
.
The monitor blipped on with that strange image of his departed lover he had seen elsewhere in the
station. He all translucent and blue, like the digitized versions of himself he had given Tim to use
in combat so many years ago.
Timothy, Jack s large, expressive eyes widened. Baby, Oh my god. I am so glad to see that you re
alright, Kitten. Holy shit, you look different.
Leave it to whatever this version of Jack was to be concerned at such a time with how different
his body double looked. He no longer wore the mask that made him his partner s double. The
very bolts that held it in place had been removed, leaving pink, scarred flesh in their place. As he
was quite a bit younger than his lover, he had always had to dye in the streaks of gray into his
otherwise brown hair. With Jack absent, he had stopped doing so. That, and he had cut his hair into
a short

56. Representative Heuristic And Representative Bias Definition
Representativeness Bias or Representativeness Heuristic is a shortcut in trying to associate
present people or events to past experience. It is the probability that event A is connected to
event B because they share common physical characteristics. We observe a person or object and
if it shares similar qualities from another object we are familiar with, then we assume that the
object is a part of that category. I used Legally Blonde because it is a great example of how Elle
(Reese Witherspoon) was underestimated. Elle is a blonde sorority girl, from California, and has a
lot of money. She always has the best clothes, friends, and dates. Based upon, her physical
attributes, people categorize her as being unintelligent, and unable to complete

57. The Career Exploration Research Project Essay
Career Exploration Research Project
1.What is one short term goal you have on your agenda to achieve in the next couple of weeks to a
month?
Civil Engineer involves building infrastructures, tunnels and bridges which require places and
could possibly harm an environment. One of the key term I must master is environmental
regulations, during high school I took Environmental Science AP and had to learn about
important acts. Since this semester I did not challenge myself I took it upon myself to
remember important acts such as Land and Water Conservation Act of 1965, Forest Reserve Act
of 1891, Taylor Grazing Act of 1934 and Multiple Use Sustained Yield Act 1960. Knowings this
acts allows me to know my rights incase in the future my team and I have problems with the law
or regulation. Furthermore, under the Forest Reserve Act of 1891 if a project includes building
a road or a bridge on piece of land I believe could harm the environment s niche, the balance of the
water system due to fertilization runoff which causes algae growth and the forest I could send a
letter to the President of the United States and request for it to be preserve. In simple words I am
basically studying the biomes of the world in the United States and the consequences of chemicals
in the water systems and their long term effects.
