The West Memphis Three Case Analysis
The Case of the West Memphis Three involves the three teenage boys accused and convicted of
murdering Michael Moore, Stevie Branch, and Christopher Byers in West Memphis, Arkansas on May
5th, 1993. The investigation, trial, and appeals that followed would put the Arkansas criminal justice
system under scrutiny for their actions. The West Memphis Police Department arrested and charged
Jason Baldwin, Damien Echols, and Jessie Misskelly, Jr. with the three boy s murders. The entire case
was under the constant watch of the media and brought a great deal of attention to the actions and
conduct of the West Memphis Police Department, as well as the Arkansas criminal justice system.
Many outsiders got involved with the West Memphis Three case. Among these outsiders were famous
musicians Eddy Vedder, lead singer of Pearl Jam and Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks, famous
actors including Johnny Depp, and superstar director Peter Jackson. These celebrities helped to raise
awareness of the case as well as to help raise money for the West Memphis three to obtain appropriate
post conviction representation and unbiased forensic testing and analysis in the hopes of exonerating
them of their convictions. While the new forensic evidence (and the new testing and expert analysis of
the original evidence) ultimately helped the West Memphis Three become free men again, the question
still remains as to who really murdered those three boys on May 5th, 1993 in West Memphis,
Arkansas. Because the

Who Was Responsible For The Destruction Of Julius Caesar...
Julius Caesar and the Destruction of the Roman Republic Many people over time have debated
whether or not Julius Caesar was responsible for the destruction of the Roman Republic. (3) Strangely,
Julius Caesar was a favorite to many in Rome, even though he was a complicated man; this made it
difficult for people to truly decide whether or not his actions were the cause (Bedoyere 260). (5)
Although this mystery of whose fault it truly was, many have come to the same conclusion, it was
Caesar, who was completely responsible. (2) Because of Julius Caesar s conflict with Pompey, his
emergence into dictatorship, and his assassination, one could believe that Julius was responsible for
the destruction of the Roman Republic. (5) When Julius was a ... Show more content on

(5) When he first returned to home, he celebrated all of his victories in the civil wars (Witkoski).
Caesar worked hard to give the people jobs, and came up with countless ideas to help Rome. Caesar
had other ideas, and with the army behind him... took over jobs of consuls, and power as a tribune. His
actions went down badly with traditionalists, who thought he was trampling on Republican Systems,
(Moody 260). While Caesar did reject the crown three times, he even once said The Republic is
nothing, a mere name without body or form, (Duncan 245). But he still accepted to be a dictator for at
least ten years, and by 44 B.C. it was extended for life, which was much worse, (Lee 100) He used his
military strength and popularity to gain this control in 44 B.C....Caesar s reign marked the end of the
Roman Republic. (2) Instituting a number of reforms, from reducing welfare to using a new calendar,
though in theory he was balanced by the power of the senate, in reality he was becoming more like a
dictator, (Stevenson). Not everyone agreed with his political acts, and many accused him of tyranny

Attitudes To Nature In Pre-Modern Europe Essay
To explore how attitudes to nature changed in early modern Europe, we must first understand how
nature was perceived in the pre modern era. This essay will look into the pre modern Christian
theological view, before exploring the early modern era that was largely shaped by the scientific
revolution and its most notable people, the use of metaphors. and religious ideas, such as the chain of
being.
Attitudes towards nature in the pre modern or medieval period, were largely based on Christian
theological views and Aristotelian science. Despite science and religion usually seen as complete
opposites, religion and God s plan were often considered the scientific explanation for many things,
including gravity. Aristotelian science was mainly governed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

However, unlike with the scientific revolution, the chain of being showed a better outlook on nature,
and also had a more religious element. The chain of being was one way of finding our place in the
universe, which was a common idea in both medieval and modern Europe. God and all his angels
were at the top of the chain, below which were humans, and then came all the animals followed by
plants. It was, once again, the idea that humans are superior to nature and that it is our rights as the
superior beings, to rule over and control nature. While the chain of being and the scientific revolution,
both view nature as something to be controlled and dominated over, the chain of being was less
anthropocentric, even though it still did see human s above nature, and nature as something to be used
for human s benefit. Despite this, the chain of being also gave importance to nature. The Great Chain
of Being placed people and nature in an intimate relationship (Porter 1946). This was due to every
single part of the chain being important, and to damage one link, would destroy the entire chain.
Therefore, humans would have to have some level of care for nature, to ensure our own

Colorimetric Analysis Case Study
According to the BMI for Erin s height and weight, she is considered to be under weight. A healthy
weight for Erin is between 125 lbs. to 158 lbs. The recommended intake of protein for adults is 0.85
grams per kilogram of healthy body weight per day. Based on Erin s weight, she should be consuming
43 grams of protein. Erin has been calculating her recommended dietary allowance based on an
unhealthy weight and not the midpoint of the healthy weight range, which is 141 lbs. Erin s
recommended daily protein requirement should be 51grams.
2. Assuming a healthy weight for Erin is 141 pounds, use the information from the How to feature (p.
185) in this chapter to calculate her recommended daily protein requirement. Show your calculations.

What percentage of Erin s current energy intake comes from protein? Remember that protein provides
approximately 4 kcalories per gram.) Is this adequate? Why or why not?
40 grams of protein x 4 kcal per gram = 160 kcals divided by 1200 kcals per day = 13.3%.
Erin s current energy intake that comes from protein is 13.3%. Erin s percentage of current energy
intake from protein falls between the recommended 10 to 35 percent. However, this is not adequate
because the protein RDA is based on grams per day based on reference body weights. Erin is not
consuming enough calories based on her height and weight, which cause her to not meet the protein
RDA.
4. Erin s energy needs for a healthy weight are closer to 1600 calories a day. How might her low
calorie intake influence her protein status and possibly contribute to her current health issues?
An inadequate amount of protein can cause a number of health issues. Erin was consuming 160 kcal
of protein, which equals 13% of the protein RDA. Erin s low calorie intake influences her protein
status and possibly contributes to her current health issues because she is consuming too little protein
and is limiting amino acids. Since Erin is not supplying her body with enough protein to perform their
roles, she is causing inadequate nutrient absorption. In addition, her low calorie intake is causing her
to become easily susceptible to illness and

The Pros And Cons Of Telehealth
Telehealth Introduction Telehealth is the use of technology for the exchange of health information in a
two way communication from one location to another using a variety of tools or applications. Tools
and applications such as smart phone devices, video conferencing, emails, and other wireless
applications are used for the convenience and improvement of delivery of healthcare. It has the
advantage of connecting healthcare personnel and primary care provider with patients and provides
knowledge through the network system regarding patient care and monitoring (Katzman, 2013).
Telehealth is a cost effective way for the Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANP) to have the ability to
reach a wider geographical area and broader populations. Especially in the rural areas where services
are limited and geographical boundaries ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When patients leave from appointments with their physicians, or are discharged from the hospital,
they are responsible for their care at home. Oftentimes, patients are non compliant with their treatment
plan given to them by their clinician due to lack of understanding, miscommunication or faulty
understanding of the treatment plan, lack of access to facilities or requirement of additional guidance.
This creates safety issues and causes negative outcomes in the patients health. This is where telehealth
comes into play to help to continuously monitor patients and provide the assistance needed to maintain
optimal patient function. According Cassandra, Graves, and Mooney (2013) telehealth would certainly
reduce readmission rates for chronic conditions by giving patients early interventions, serve wider
geographic areas, improve patient outcome, provide better services to patients and allow better time

Perfectionism As A Dynamic And Multifaceted Personality Trait
Introduction Perfectionism has been in a centre of attention of sport psychologists for last few decades
and even though a research boom already provided many interesting findings, the topic offers plenty
of other areas to investigate. Number of different ways in which perfectionism is conceptualized and
measured is one of the biggest challenges when designing research in this field (Hill, Appleton Hall,
2014). Nevertheless, when going through various sources, we can see a common point of view among
researches looking at perfectionism as a multidimensional and multifaceted personality trait
characterized by imposing high standards on oneself with the tendency to engage in overly and
unrealistic critical evaluations of one s achievement (Cumming Duda, 2012; Flett Hewitt, 2002).
Individual s need for flawlessness (perfection) and setting of excessively high standards of
performance accompanied by tendencies for extremely critical evaluation of one s performance are the
core of this phenomenon (Stoeber Otto, 2006). In general population, perfectionism is usually
perceived as a negative psychological phenomenon leading to other unfavourable results (e.g.
experiencing high level of stress). This extremely polarized attitude used to be also kept by many
researchers connecting perfectionism with psychopathology outcomes. For a long time, one
dimensional concept of perfectionism dominated whole research area. Later on, two basic approaches
to conceptualize the

King Charles IIi By Mark Bartlett
I tremendously enjoyed the play King Charles III by Mark Bartlett. It dealt with the very modern
issues of privacy and the press through the medium of blank verse and the modern day monarchs with
some Shakespearean precursors lurking in the background. Charles III opens just after the death of
Elizabeth II, and traces the remaining royals actions and reactions through the next coronation. We see
Charles, attempting to follow his own moral compass, becoming embroiled in politics He nearly
destroys the monarchy by refusing to pass a bill that would censor certain types of scandals out of the
press, despite the bill having strong support in the House of Commons. Will and Kate, the publicly
popular and more politically savvy pair, pull strings (with questionable morality) to keep the palace
together, both for themselves and posterity. Prince Harry is off running around on the town, drinking
too much and continuing his famous shenanigans, until he meets and falls in love with Jess, a
republican who is strongly against the monarchy. One of Jess s previous boyfriends threatens to
release nude pictures of her to the gossip rags to extort money out of the royal family. This problem
could be easily solved by the passage of the bill in Parliament that Charles is still blocking, even as he
promises to protect Jess after meeting her. Harry contemplates leaving the royal family to be with Jess,
as she is staunchly opposed to everything royal, with the idea that some people are just

Saint Augustine s Shift Of Pears In The Confessions
Reading the passage of Saint Augustine s theft of pears in The Confessions, I was somewhat intrigued
at how such a trivial event has such a large impact on his adult life. But as I got to thinking about that
time period and compared the justice system to the modern day justice system, I realized a trivial
event in my own life that still has a large impact on me today. I think that there is at least one event in
a teenager s life that really shakes them and I can vividly remember one of mine: a terrifyingly panic
filled... warning. I remember wanting to be in my cozy bed on a cold December night about two years
ago. I was driving back from a midnight soccer game, so I was already tired, so I decided that I just
really wanted to be home. As I got nearer, I got more tired and decided to go a little faster. Soon, I was
going eighteen miles per hour over the thirty five miles per hour limit and had blown through two stop
signs. I only wanted to be home and there was no one in the area, so I thought, why not, this can t hurt

we have to make sure that God gets the glory out of everything that we do. In order for God to truly

The Effect Of Bacterial Growth On Space Flight
Early studies have documented that bacterial growth increases in space flight; yet, the inherent
mechanisms beholden to this growth have not been discovered. As the bacteria devour nutrients, they
discharge corollary that can affect growth and impact ultimate cell population denseness. It is
acknowledged that these metabolic processes charge a reduction in density of the fluid zone and the
solute gradient about every cell. Along this planet, this fluctuation in density leads to an elasticity
transfer of the expelled by products. The fluid motion enclosing the cells can be changed through the
restricting of the movement to just diffusion because of the lack of activity and deposit in the low
gravity space flight surroundings. From this biophysical representation, it was speculated that an
increase in speed impacts the lag phase period and the final cell s denseness of suspended cultures of
bacteria in a deviating way. This is because of the modifications obtained in the extra cellular fluid
constitution. Contained in the paper are experiments of different accelerations that frequently
sustained this hypothesis, culmination in foreseeable growth kinetics. Other experiments show plumes
of fluid that are visible to the naked eye emerging from metabolizing bacterial cultures. If related fluid
kinetics were discovered to come about on a microscopic level, it might inform us of how acceleration
impacts bacterium growth kinetics.

Comparing Men And Women In Shakespeare s Othello
Women are looked over in Othello but end up being the downfall of their male counterparts; It was
Desdemona that was Othello s greatest weakness and Emilia was Iago s. This is alluding to
Shakespeare being incredibly progressive in a time where women were widely renowned as objects of
men. By analyzing and comparing aspects of both Emilia and Desdemona in the William Shakespeare
play Othello This is illustrated in Othello by comparing the difference in the opinions between Emilia
s and Desdemona s on taking and following orders from men, the double standard between men and
women when it comes to human impulses and urges, and how hard a fight they will put up against a
man. Emilia exhibits the traits of a modern feminist for her time.

Careers At Lodging And Food And Beverage 2
CAREERS IN LODGING AND FOOD AND BEVERAGE 2
Lodging, food and beverage is becoming popular in the world today. A lot of people are going to
college in order to be in this type of work. They learn how each field work and also how challenging
the field has become over the years. It is fascinating how much these fields are so vast but yet similar.
Many people that want to get into this field find that it can be helpful to learn firsthand how these
industries have functioned economically in the past and figure out how they will function in years to
come. Lodge Management requires a person to have great communication skills and must be diverse.
The Key management functions are planning, organizing, decision making, communicating, human
resources and motivating and controlling (Introduction to hospitality pg.539). These functions can be
stressful. Lodge management roles require a person to be on their feet all day, sometimes more than a
regular 8 hour day, they usually require them to work during the day and then have to come back on
another shift if necessary. Most managers that work in the lodging fields are on call most of the time;
even if it s the front desk manager, the housekeeping manager or food and beverage. They must be
able to handle customer complaints in a timely manner to satisfy the customer. General Managers are

Ira, come help me set up the tree. My mama called to me from downstairs. Coming mom! I replied
with excitement. Why was I excited? It was the first day of Chanukah, and we had to set up the New
Year s tree. It was a little tradition of ours. In Europe , where my mom grew up, New Years was a big
thing. Some people even put up trees, and my family was one of those people. When I got downstairs,
my mom had already put up the tree in the living room next to the TV, but there were no ornament on
it yet. The ornaments are over there. Mom said pointing to a bucket full of decorations. I walked over
to the bucket and saw the ornaments. They immediately put a smile on my face. The beautiful shiny
golden spheres had always made me happy. Maybe the golden decorations made me so happy was
because of the fun and good times it symbolized. I always knew that after I put them up that it would
be a start to a very enjoyable experience. After we had finished putting up the decorations, I could

Summary Of 1 And 2 Kings By Jeremiah
The books of 1 and 2 Kings were written by Jeremiah who lived around 627 BC. The books were
written with messages of repentance, but these messages were not received well as his hometown
persecuted him. Kings was written to the Israelites trying to explain their fate. The book is more of a
warning because of the peoples abandonment of their faith, or apostasy. Jeremiah wants the people to
be restored to the days when David ruled Israel. The Old Testament in general is filled with prophecy
and preparation for the coming of Jesus. The book of 1 Kings gives this message in the form of
lessons, metaphors and other interpretations. In this passage Elijah went into a cave to take shelter
from the harsh weather. Elijah had just walked forty days and forty nights to the mountain of Horeb or
the mountain of God. He took this journey because he was fleeing Jezebel who was trying to have
Elijah murdered because of his faith. While in the cave Elijah heard the Lord speaking to him. The
Lord told Elijah to walk out of the cave after Elijah presented his worries to God. Elijah quickly
noticed that he could not hear the Lord in the wind or earthquake or fire. Rather, Elijah could hear the
Lord as a whispering sound. Elijah ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example of this use of metaphor can be seen in verse 11 of chapter 19 in 1 Kings, Then the LORD
said: Go out and stand on the mountain before the LORD (1 Kings 19:11). To stand before the LORD
means, not literally to stand, but to lessen yourself in the presence of God. This metaphor means to
serve the Lord, or being a servant of God. Standing before God is being vulnerable, honest and open,
letting God work in you. This means allowing God in your life. For Elijah this was alluding to him
returning to Damascus and appointing new kings of Israel and Aram. In this passage God is telling
Elijah to trust in Him and have faith, that His plans are above all other

God did not create the world and leave it to its own fate. Instead, God is still actively involved in
every part of His creation today. This belief is crucial for the Christian scientists in today s world.
Ones who study cells and molecules can discover how astounding and detailed God, the Creator, is
with this belief in mind. God is working through his seen and unseen creation. In the tiniest cell, God s
workmanship can be displayed. God made each cell to have a specific purpose towards the human
body or the plant. Cells and molecules are the work of an intelligent designer and are not random
chances. Without God, cells could not accomplish their purpose. God places every gene on DNA and
makes the cells come together to form a human. For you created my inmost being; you knit me
together in my mother s womb (Psalm 139:13, NIV). Through cells and molecules, God creates each
unique person on His earth.
When a Christian scientist knows God is at work in His creation, they can have a new perspective of
cells. They will see cells as the design of God instead of results of randomness. Once they observe and
study cells, they can learn more about God. They can learn how detail oriented and omniscient He is.
God is in control not only of the seen world, but also the world we can only see under the microscope!
Each cell and molecule are shaped a specific way to carry out a

Major Sullivan Ballou s Last Letter
The bond between a husband and wife can be so strong sometimes and the two stories To My Dear
Loving Husband and Major Sullivan Ballou s Last Letter show how much each spouse loves each
other. Although, each one talks about the love towards one another they both have different ways of
expressing it. Major Sullivan Ballou s Last Letter was written during the civil wars time so it was
more based on that, while To My Dear Loving Husband was written way back in 1641.
The most obvious difference is the fact that one shows the perspective of a woman while the other
tells a story from a man s perspective. The letter is written by a guy in the army to his wife and kids.
He talks more about how he loves the Country so much that he is willing to die for it. The major does
not really mind the fact that he is about to die and leave his family behind. Instead he tells his wife and
kids to stay strong and that he will always be there for them. In contrast, the poem talks about how the
women values her husband s love and how he is such an idol. She would put her husband before
anything and anyone. Just by reading the poem people are able to tell how much this women respects
and loves her husband.Although they both love their families, one is willing to give up his life and
abandon them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author directs some of the phrases to women that are reading the poem. For example line 3 4 If
ever wife was happy in a man, Compare with me, ye women, if you can(Anne Bradstreet). Basically
the author is saying that she thinks her man is the best and no other woman will find a guy as great as
him. On the other hand, the letter is referring to one person, his wife. The letter just talks about how he
wants his wife to learn how to live without him. The poem talks just about a husband, while the letter
includes two kids and a

Transcontinental Railroad In Westward Expansion
In the early 1800s, Americans and immigrants moved to the west for various reasons. These reasons
includes rumors of gold and silver, the transcontinental railroad, and the Homestead Act. A tremendous
reason is push pull factors. Soon after moving to the west, settlers soon figure out moving was a not so
good decision. In the west, there were prairie fires and unfarmable land. Disputes rang out between
Plain Indians and settlers that were violent. Federal agents to make agreements/treaties that were
considered misunderstanding and fraud. Native Americans forced onto reservations. The natural world
of the American of the West was destroyed by new coming settlers. There were many hardships and
motivations for moving West. For example, hardships for settlers in the West; and the natural world of
the American West. After settling in the west, settlers soon learned there would be many obstacles.
Some settlers overcame these difficulty; whereas others just went back to the city. ... Show more

The transcontinental railroad was a major section of desire in the Westward expansion. According to
Document 1, it states the railroad demonstrated its practicality. This railroad would be a key to success
that would make America more wealthy than any other job or industry. Without the transcontinental
railroad, transporting goods and settlers would be difficult and time consuming. Thus the
transcontinental railroad was a tremendous impact on motivation for Westward expansion. Another
motivation for Westward expansion is mining for gold and silver. After rumors of gold spread, settlers
came to the West and started placer mining. According to Document 3, two men found a considerable
amount of gold after to in Rich Bar. As a result of this magnificent discovery, hundreds of miners
settle there to find gold. An explanation is a major motivation for Westward expansion is the discovery
of gold

Philip Zimbardo’S Famous Quote Was Inspired From His Stanford
Philip Zimbardo s famous quote was inspired from his Stanford prison experiment and it states The
line between good and evil is permeable and almost anyone can be induced to cross it when pressured
by situational forces . This quote summarized means that when a human is given or in the right
scenario, humans will take on one of the most savage behavior. Philip Zimbardo s experiment that
happened in 1971 was all about taking in male volunteers to a prison like setting and he had them take
roles as either prisoners or guards. A writer Shirley Jackson wrote a short story called The Lottery in
1948, the story is about a small village who has a special yearly lottery that is ancient but of

The first to become blind were put into an asylum to help contain the blindness and the ministry is
very unhelpful and this poor man along with his wife and the doctor and his wife who still has her
sight are tortured and mistreated leaving to die of hunger for days and some killed in the process of
trying to escape. Now to the examples, these people start to take in animalistic behaviors in order to
survive. They are more than willing to go to great measures in order to escape, stay alive, eat, and
receive pleasure. The first example that helps prove it is, Those two mouths searched until they found
each other, and then the inevitable happened, the pleasure of both of them... forgive me, I don t know
what came over me, in fact, we were right, how could we (Saramago 174). In this quote, the doctor s
wife has caught her husband having sexual intercourse with another woman and she isn t surprised at
all. She acknowledges that she has not been pleasurable towards her husband and she understands that
he had to find a way to exert those urges and so he betrays his wife. This man who must have been
urging for quite a while did the inevitable and although his wife accepts what has happened you can
understand how he was willing to get caught and lose his relationship. Another great example would
be where further in the book more people are put into the asylum and wards and sanctions start to
develop and so

Similarities Between Heart Of Darkness And Apocalypse Now
Heart of Darkness and its modern film adaptation Apocalypse Now are two masterpieces of art, by
Joseph Conrad and Francis Ford Coppola respectively, seeking to show the truth of their respective
worlds, that explore themes of conflict and darkness. They explore the idea of going native and
venturing into the abyss of Nietzsche, who once wrote, in Beyond Good and Evil: He who fights with
monsters should be careful lest he thereby become a monster. If you gaze long enough into the abyss,
the abyss will also gaze into you. These two texts have a lot of similarities, namely Kurtz and the use
of smoke. The differences between the two are noticeable, but they are intentional, and often not as
different as they first appear. These being mainly the locations: Vietnam (the Nung River) and the
Congo (the Congo River) and portrayal of them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Marlow is a sailor, and he follows the ocean. He is looking for work, unable to adapt to society on
land. In his modern retelling, Coppola chooses to alter and modernize the story; deciding to set it in
Western Vietnam and Cambodia. Captain Benjamin Willard (Martin Sheen), a special ops soldier who
is not too different from Charles Marlow, is the film s main character and chief storyteller, who also
feels the call of the wild like Marlow. Willard is ordered, on a classified mission, to travel up the Nung
river to terminate, with extreme prejudice, rogue General Walter E. Kurtz (Marlon Brando). Both texts
depict how the perceptions of the characters, soldier and sailor, both unfit and uncomfortable in
civilized society, are changed by their adventure into hell, and their meeting with

The Key Role Of Finance
The key role of finance in any business is to manage money; whether it be raising capital through
share capital and bank loans, raising credit (short term capital), or handling the costs of the business.
Without finance, a business would not function, as quoted by (Griffin, 2015); Money is the lifeblood
of a business and finance is the nerve center .
Key activities of the finance department:
Firstly, one of the key activities of the finance department is to maintain a check on the
costs/outgoings of the business. This is important because if the business spends too much, it may
have to dip into its capital money invested into the business to start it in the first place or it may have
to take out bank loans, in order to finance the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is very important because a business needs to know exactly where and when all of its money has
been spent at any given time in order to be able to reduce the costs for the future. For example, for the
year ending 2014 Arcadia Group generated £316.8 million revenue and finished up with £143.1
million pre tax profit. (Limited, 2014) The decisions made by the accountants in the finance
department leading up to and after the publication of these figures is essential to the financial success
of the Arcadia Group (Topshop, Top man, Wallis, etc). Without constant reviews and informed
judgements and decisions (Weetman, 2006) by the accountants in finance, the Arcadia Group would
start to make a loss and possibly, eventually go bankrupt. By evaluating the figures and reaching
conclusions on them, the Arcadia Group will be better able to maximize the profits for the company.
Key tools and ideas that are critical to finance:
One of the key ideas behind the finance function is the question; Is the business making a profit? This
is because without making a profit, a business would not continue to exist. For example, in 2013 Ford
made $8.6 billion in pre tax profits, but in 2014 Ford made $6.3 billion, so there was a drop of $2.3
billion (Ford,

well as due to the geographical setting of the hospital, some locations take 15 mins .Some CSM due
health reasons are unable to walk the long distances. The senior CSM s role involves making sure all
clinical and operational challenges are escalated to right people. I decided to consult with the CSM
team as I came into post after the merger but before the consultation and realised we were not getting
to all the areas.
It was important for me to understand why we had to change by process mapping the current process
by collecting and analysing the service along with making sure staff views in order to figure where
improvements were to be made. Raghavan (2015) suggests doing a root cause analysis (RCA) on the
effects of the merger and workforce consultation .This helped to show fundamental system failures

The Effects Of Sexual Abuse On Women
One of the greatest fears that affect women worldwide is getting sexually attacked. These are
occasions that leave the victims with emotional scars that last a lifetime. Sexual abuse is an act that
underline inhumane and repulsions of torment for women. The horrors are an understatement when
the victims are kids. Most women, who have encountered rape, have had the assault in their younger
ages. Recuperating from such recollections and scars can result into two actions; carrying on with a
productive life or committing suicide. In Morrow and Smith s study that was published in 1995,
depicted a portion of the women who survived the ordeal and managed to adapt with the emotional
scars have done to get to that state. Sexual abuse for women causes a great deal of fear, given that
more than 40% of women in the United States and Canada are victims. The figure within the study
demonstrates exactly how pandemic the abhorrent is and the impacts that are a great deal more than
the figures would indicate. Experts helping the women that are experiencing mental and physical
trauma resultant from such abuse, utilize the construct approach and the indications to try to
comprehend and react accordingly.
Majority of the research published in the past attempted to demonstrate the issues that the women
experience, drawing on the negative aspects of the encounters and the emotional turmoil connected
with this ordeal. There is an alternate point of view that takes a gander at the positive

Comparison Of Hamlet s Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Dead
Although both Hamlet and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead deal with a similar story and
themes, both approach it differently. The themes that are present in both texts, identity and the
willingness whether or not to act; they are brought forth using the same literary elements, such as
setting, point of view, and the uses of character interactions and dialogue. However, the ways each
element is used and how the story is told in both Hamlet and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
is different from each other, as Hamlet takes a tragic turn and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern goes into
the absurd and existential.

one. The two texts have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Insight to Hamlet s identity is given through the use of soliloquies and monologues. As Hamlet
progresses, his thoughts and beliefs about avenging his father s death are shown and stated by using
soliloquies, asides, and monologues, one of which being the famed To be or not to be speech
(Shakespeare III, i, 64 95). These moments of Hamlet s dialogue, especially that infamous soliloquy,
reveal his true identity as one who is teetering between deciding whether or not to avenge his father s
death.
On the other hand, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern frequently uses dialogue between the two title
characters. With this dialogue they are able to work out their identities, from figuring out who they are
(Stoppard I, 22) to trying to figure out if it is worth it to change fate because their ...movement is
contained within a larger one... (Stoppard III, 122). In both plays, speech is used to help develop
characters identities, while Hamlet relies on one person, Hamlet, to develop his identity, although
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern use dialogue between the two protagonists to reveal their individual

Nature Vs. Nurture By Francis Galton
You inherit your environment just as much as your genes. (Rich, 2015) In 1869, the phrase nature vs.
nurture was coined by an English polymath named Francis Galton. There are two sides to this debate,
each with their own pros and con s. Nature is the side that argues that the DNA and genotype humans
are born with determines who they are and what personality and traits they will have throughout their
lifetime. Whereas the nurture side of the debate argues that humans are born with sponges as minds,
and through interactions and experiences while we grow, the knowledge and understanding of life is
gained and this is how our personalities are sculpted. Many people have studied this debate through
multiple schools of thoughts; each with their own arguments to which side they believe prevails. Yet,
to this day, there is no proof to say which side of the debate if correct. Based on the psychological,
sociological, and epigenetic schools of though, it can be validated that when it comes to the nature vs.
nurture debate, nurture will always prevail and remain most relevant. The basic assumption of
psychologists in correlation to nurture is that the mind is a blank slate, or tabula rasa (Locke, 1689)
during infancy, and continues to absorb new information as the environment changes with the child.
There are multiple disciplines within the psychological school of thought that become very relevant
when studying nurture. For starters, cognitive psychology states that mental

Analysis Of George Bergeron s The Novel
Charlie Kaufman s upcoming adaptation Harrison Bergeron takes a different approach to the original
short story. In the Vonnegut s story the year is 2081 and the world is finally equal or at least
considered to be that way. Everyone wears handicaps to suppress whatever can give them an
advantage, such as headpieces that stop a person from using their brain, weights to diminish strength,
and masks to hide beauty. The short story looks at the lives of Hazel and George Bergeron living
during this new era. They have a son named Harrison, but he was taken away before the events of the
story. Largely, Vonnegut s story presents itself as a satire to communism; however Kaufman creates a
darker much different perspective. During an early screening of Kaufman s adaptation the viewer only
gets a glimpse of the beginning of the film. Kaufman begins the narrative using the same first line of
the short story, the year was 2081 and the world was finally equal (Vonnegut 7). Yet, there is a
noticeable dramatic difference, the narration is told through George s perspective. The choice is
interesting because upon learning this fact the narration becomes bias. George s narration seems bitter
and clearly the system he lives in is not one that he supports. Still, the perspective is interesting
because there is a lot of static during the narrated moments, presumably from George s handicap. A
smart choice as it allows the reader to understand what the handicap is like through George s eyes. At

Essay on Investigative Reporting is the Driving Force in...
Investigative reporting has been a driving force in journalism for centuries. The reporting tradition of
revealing misconduct was already well established much before the 20th Century. Its practise even
predates the publication of the first successful colonial newspaper in 1704, demonstrating the press
watchdog role has had deep historical roots in democracy much prior to the 1960s. Over the past three
centuries, investigative reporters have tried to make a difference by raising public consciousness about
perceived wrongdoings. Prior to the early 1960s, investigative reporting was highly localised and
sporadic. This was a reflection of the character of early journalism and the technological limits of
communication. It was not until the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

used by a criminal landlord, Peter Rachman, to terrorise tenants. These examples set a trend and by the
late 1960s there were many new vehicles for investigative reporting in the national media.
One of the most notable reporters of the time was Ron Hall, who has been considered to have virtually
invented the art of investigative journalism in Britain, as one of a trio of young reporters in the 1960s,
he created the insight team of the Sunday Times. Shortly after he joined the paper, the scandal of the
Profumo affair broke so he began to produce a weekly detailed account of what had happened, digging
deeper into the background story. Shortly after that, the first truly investigative article written by Hall
was an account of the life and misdeeds of Rachman, the corrupt slum landlord. In the course of his 20
years on the paper, he was associated with some of its most important investigative stories, including
the Philby spy scandal, thalidomide, and the remarkable disclosure that the yachtsman Donald
Crowhurst, who had taken part in a round the world race, and had faked his journey, pretending to
have orbited the globe. Ron Hall was one of the most influential and talented journalists of his time,
an architect of the Sunday Times Insight pages and pioneered techniques of investigative journalism
that altered the nature of much of the

  • 4. The West Memphis Three Case Analysis The Case of the West Memphis Three involves the three teenage boys accused and convicted of murdering Michael Moore, Stevie Branch, and Christopher Byers in West Memphis, Arkansas on May 5th, 1993. The investigation, trial, and appeals that followed would put the Arkansas criminal justice system under scrutiny for their actions. The West Memphis Police Department arrested and charged Jason Baldwin, Damien Echols, and Jessie Misskelly, Jr. with the three boy s murders. The entire case was under the constant watch of the media and brought a great deal of attention to the actions and conduct of the West Memphis Police Department, as well as the Arkansas criminal justice system. Many outsiders got involved with the West Memphis Three case. Among these outsiders were famous musicians Eddy Vedder, lead singer of Pearl Jam and Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks, famous actors including Johnny Depp, and superstar director Peter Jackson. These celebrities helped to raise awareness of the case as well as to help raise money for the West Memphis three to obtain appropriate post conviction representation and unbiased forensic testing and analysis in the hopes of exonerating them of their convictions. While the new forensic evidence (and the new testing and expert analysis of the original evidence) ultimately helped the West Memphis Three become free men again, the question still remains as to who really murdered those three boys on May 5th, 1993 in West Memphis, Arkansas. Because the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Who Was Responsible For The Destruction Of Julius Caesar... Julius Caesar and the Destruction of the Roman Republic Many people over time have debated whether or not Julius Caesar was responsible for the destruction of the Roman Republic. (3) Strangely, Julius Caesar was a favorite to many in Rome, even though he was a complicated man; this made it difficult for people to truly decide whether or not his actions were the cause (Bedoyere 260). (5) Although this mystery of whose fault it truly was, many have come to the same conclusion, it was Caesar, who was completely responsible. (2) Because of Julius Caesar s conflict with Pompey, his emergence into dictatorship, and his assassination, one could believe that Julius was responsible for the destruction of the Roman Republic. (5) When Julius was a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (5) When he first returned to home, he celebrated all of his victories in the civil wars (Witkoski). Caesar worked hard to give the people jobs, and came up with countless ideas to help Rome. Caesar had other ideas, and with the army behind him... took over jobs of consuls, and power as a tribune. His actions went down badly with traditionalists, who thought he was trampling on Republican Systems, (Moody 260). While Caesar did reject the crown three times, he even once said The Republic is nothing, a mere name without body or form, (Duncan 245). But he still accepted to be a dictator for at least ten years, and by 44 B.C. it was extended for life, which was much worse, (Lee 100) He used his military strength and popularity to gain this control in 44 B.C....Caesar s reign marked the end of the Roman Republic. (2) Instituting a number of reforms, from reducing welfare to using a new calendar, though in theory he was balanced by the power of the senate, in reality he was becoming more like a dictator, (Stevenson). • 6. Attitudes To Nature In Pre-Modern Europe Essay To explore how attitudes to nature changed in early modern Europe, we must first understand how nature was perceived in the pre modern era. This essay will look into the pre modern Christian theological view, before exploring the early modern era that was largely shaped by the scientific revolution and its most notable people, the use of metaphors. and religious ideas, such as the chain of being. Attitudes towards nature in the pre modern or medieval period, were largely based on Christian theological views and Aristotelian science. Despite science and religion usually seen as complete opposites, religion and God s plan were often considered the scientific explanation for many things, including gravity. Aristotelian science was mainly governed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, unlike with the scientific revolution, the chain of being showed a better outlook on nature, and also had a more religious element. The chain of being was one way of finding our place in the universe, which was a common idea in both medieval and modern Europe. God and all his angels were at the top of the chain, below which were humans, and then came all the animals followed by plants. It was, once again, the idea that humans are superior to nature and that it is our rights as the superior beings, to rule over and control nature. While the chain of being and the scientific revolution, both view nature as something to be controlled and dominated over, the chain of being was less anthropocentric, even though it still did see human s above nature, and nature as something to be used for human s benefit. Despite this, the chain of being also gave importance to nature. The Great Chain of Being placed people and nature in an intimate relationship (Porter 1946). This was due to every single part of the chain being important, and to damage one link, would destroy the entire chain. Therefore, humans would have to have some level of care for nature, to ensure our own ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The recommended intake of protein for adults is 0.85 grams per kilogram of healthy body weight per day. Based on Erin s weight, she should be consuming 43 grams of protein. Erin has been calculating her recommended dietary allowance based on an unhealthy weight and not the midpoint of the healthy weight range, which is 141 lbs. Erin s recommended daily protein requirement should be 51grams. 2. Is this adequate? Why or why not? 40 grams of protein x 4 kcal per gram = 160 kcals divided by 1200 kcals per day = 13.3%. Erin s current energy intake that comes from protein is 13.3%. Erin s percentage of current energy intake from protein falls between the recommended 10 to 35 percent. However, this is not adequate because the protein RDA is based on grams per day based on reference body weights. Erin is not consuming enough calories based on her height and weight, which cause her to not meet the protein RDA. 4. Erin s energy needs for a healthy weight are closer to 1600 calories a day. How might her low calorie intake influence her protein status and possibly contribute to her current health issues? An inadequate amount of protein can cause a number of health issues. Erin was consuming 160 kcal of protein, which equals 13% of the protein RDA. Erin s low calorie intake influences her protein status and possibly contributes to her current health issues because she is consuming too little protein and is limiting amino acids. Since Erin is not supplying her body with enough protein to perform their roles, she is causing inadequate nutrient absorption. The Pros And Cons Of Telehealth Telehealth Introduction Telehealth is the use of technology for the exchange of health information in a two way communication from one location to another using a variety of tools or applications. Tools and applications such as smart phone devices, video conferencing, emails, and other wireless applications are used for the convenience and improvement of delivery of healthcare. It has the advantage of connecting healthcare personnel and primary care provider with patients and provides knowledge through the network system regarding patient care and monitoring (Katzman, 2013). When patients leave from appointments with their physicians, or are discharged from the hospital, they are responsible for their care at home. Oftentimes, patients are non compliant with their treatment plan given to them by their clinician due to lack of understanding, miscommunication or faulty understanding of the treatment plan, lack of access to facilities or requirement of additional guidance. This creates safety issues and causes negative outcomes in the patients health. This is where telehealth comes into play to help to continuously monitor patients and provide the assistance needed to maintain optimal patient function. • 10. Perfectionism As A Dynamic And Multifaceted Personality Trait Introduction Perfectionism has been in a centre of attention of sport psychologists for last few decades and even though a research boom already provided many interesting findings, the topic offers plenty of other areas to investigate. Number of different ways in which perfectionism is conceptualized and measured is one of the biggest challenges when designing research in this field (Hill, Appleton Hall, 2014). Nevertheless, when going through various sources, we can see a common point of view among researches looking at perfectionism as a multidimensional and multifaceted personality trait characterized by imposing high standards on oneself with the tendency to engage in overly and unrealistic critical evaluations of one s achievement (Cumming Duda, 2012; Flett Hewitt, 2002). Individual s need for flawlessness (perfection) and setting of excessively high standards of performance accompanied by tendencies for extremely critical evaluation of one s performance are the core of this phenomenon (Stoeber Otto, 2006). In general population, perfectionism is usually perceived as a negative psychological phenomenon leading to other unfavourable results (e.g. experiencing high level of stress). This extremely polarized attitude used to be also kept by many researchers connecting perfectionism with psychopathology outcomes. For a long time, one dimensional concept of perfectionism dominated whole research area. Later on, two basic approaches to conceptualize the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. King Charles IIi By Mark Bartlett I tremendously enjoyed the play King Charles III by Mark Bartlett. It dealt with the very modern issues of privacy and the press through the medium of blank verse and the modern day monarchs with some Shakespearean precursors lurking in the background. Charles III opens just after the death of Elizabeth II, and traces the remaining royals actions and reactions through the next coronation. We see Charles, attempting to follow his own moral compass, becoming embroiled in politics He nearly destroys the monarchy by refusing to pass a bill that would censor certain types of scandals out of the press, despite the bill having strong support in the House of Commons. Will and Kate, the publicly popular and more politically savvy pair, pull strings (with questionable morality) to keep the palace together, both for themselves and posterity. Prince Harry is off running around on the town, drinking too much and continuing his famous shenanigans, until he meets and falls in love with Jess, a republican who is strongly against the monarchy. One of Jess s previous boyfriends threatens to release nude pictures of her to the gossip rags to extort money out of the royal family. This problem could be easily solved by the passage of the bill in Parliament that Charles is still blocking, even as he promises to protect Jess after meeting her. Harry contemplates leaving the royal family to be with Jess, as she is staunchly opposed to everything royal, with the idea that some people are just ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Saint Augustine s Shift Of Pears In The Confessions Reading the passage of Saint Augustine s theft of pears in The Confessions, I was somewhat intrigued at how such a trivial event has such a large impact on his adult life. But as I got to thinking about that time period and compared the justice system to the modern day justice system, I realized a trivial event in my own life that still has a large impact on me today. I think that there is at least one event in a teenager s life that really shakes them and I can vividly remember one of mine: a terrifyingly panic filled... warning. I remember wanting to be in my cozy bed on a cold December night about two years ago. I was driving back from a midnight soccer game, so I was already tired, so I decided that I just really wanted to be home. As I got nearer, I got more tired and decided to go a little faster. • 16. The Effect Of Bacterial Growth On Space Flight Early studies have documented that bacterial growth increases in space flight; yet, the inherent mechanisms beholden to this growth have not been discovered. As the bacteria devour nutrients, they discharge corollary that can affect growth and impact ultimate cell population denseness. It is acknowledged that these metabolic processes charge a reduction in density of the fluid zone and the solute gradient about every cell. Along this planet, this fluctuation in density leads to an elasticity transfer of the expelled by products. The fluid motion enclosing the cells can be changed through the restricting of the movement to just diffusion because of the lack of activity and deposit in the low gravity space flight surroundings. From this biophysical representation, it was speculated that an increase in speed impacts the lag phase period and the final cell s denseness of suspended cultures of bacteria in a deviating way. This is because of the modifications obtained in the extra cellular fluid constitution. Contained in the paper are experiments of different accelerations that frequently sustained this hypothesis, culmination in foreseeable growth kinetics. Other experiments show plumes of fluid that are visible to the naked eye emerging from metabolizing bacterial cultures. If related fluid kinetics were discovered to come about on a microscopic level, it might inform us of how acceleration impacts bacterium growth kinetics. Introduction Most discoveries point to ... • 23. The Christian Faith One of the foundations of the Christian faith is the belief that God is actively working in His creation. God did not create the world and leave it to its own fate. Instead, God is still actively involved in every part of His creation today. This belief is crucial for the Christian scientists in today s world. Ones who study cells and molecules can discover how astounding and detailed God, the Creator, is with this belief in mind. God is working through his seen and unseen creation. In the tiniest cell, God s workmanship can be displayed. God made each cell to have a specific purpose towards the human body or the plant. Cells and molecules are the work of an intelligent designer and are not random chances. Without God, cells could not accomplish their purpose. God places every gene on DNA and makes the cells come together to form a human. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother s womb (Psalm 139:13, NIV). Through cells and molecules, God creates each unique person on His earth. When a Christian scientist knows God is at work in His creation, they can have a new perspective of cells. They will see cells as the design of God instead of results of randomness. Once they observe and study cells, they can learn more about God. They can learn how detail oriented and omniscient He is. God is in control not only of the seen world, but also the world we can only see under the microscope! Each cell and molecule are shaped a specific way to carry out a ... Major Sullivan Ballou s Last Letter was written during the civil wars time so it was more based on that, while To My Dear Loving Husband was written way back in 1641. The letter is written by a guy in the army to his wife and kids. He talks more about how he loves the Country so much that he is willing to die for it. The major does not really mind the fact that he is about to die and leave his family behind. Instead he tells his wife and kids to stay strong and that he will always be there for them. In contrast, the poem talks about how the women values her husband s love and how he is such an idol. She would put her husband before anything and anyone. (Rich, 2015) In 1869, the phrase nature vs. nurture was coined by an English polymath named Francis Galton. There are two sides to this debate, each with their own pros and con s. Nature is the side that argues that the DNA and genotype humans are born with determines who they are and what personality and traits they will have throughout their lifetime. Whereas the nurture side of the debate argues that humans are born with sponges as minds, and through interactions and experiences while we grow, the knowledge and understanding of life is gained and this is how our personalities are sculpted. Many people have studied this debate through multiple schools of thoughts; each with their own arguments to which side they believe prevails. Yet, to this day, there is no proof to say which side of the debate if correct. Based on the psychological, sociological, and epigenetic schools of though, it can be validated that when it comes to the nature vs. nurture debate, nurture will always prevail and remain most relevant. The basic assumption of psychologists in correlation to nurture is that the mind is a blank slate, or tabula rasa (Locke, 1689) during infancy, and continues to absorb new information as the environment changes with the child. In the Vonnegut s story the year is 2081 and the world is finally equal or at least considered to be that way. Everyone wears handicaps to suppress whatever can give them an advantage, such as headpieces that stop a person from using their brain, weights to diminish strength, and masks to hide beauty. The short story looks at the lives of Hazel and George Bergeron living during this new era. They have a son named Harrison, but he was taken away before the events of the story. Largely, Vonnegut s story presents itself as a satire to communism; however Kaufman creates a darker much different perspective. During an early screening of Kaufman s adaptation the viewer only gets a glimpse of the beginning of the film. Kaufman begins the narrative using the same first line of the short story, the year was 2081 and the world was finally equal (Vonnegut 7). Yet, there is a noticeable dramatic difference, the narration is told through George s perspective. The choice is interesting because upon learning this fact the narration becomes bias.
