My name boomed over the intercom and the April sunshine did not warm me as I uneasily made my
way to the front office. I had been enrolled in boarding school for eight months when I was told there
was a new girl coming and was asked to help her through the first few frightening weeks. Being a big
sister involved teaching her about what living at boarding school was like, along with just being her
friend. This was an honor and immense responsibility, making me not only excited, but anxious as

Gel Filtration and SDS PAGE of a Mixture OBJECTIVE. I This Lab Report is an analysis of the
results of a two part experiment. In the first part, we used a gel filtration column to separate the
components of a mixture composed of protein and non protein molecules. By doing so we hoped to
obtain fractions that contained single components of the mixture, while also gaining insight into the
relative molecular weight of each component compared to each other. We would then plot these
fractions onto nitrocellulose paper in order to determine which fractions had protein. In the second
part, we would use the fractions which we had determined had protein to conduct an SDS PAGE. By
doing so we hoped to determine an estimate on the molecular weight of the proteins present in each
fraction by comparing it to a tracker dye composed of a variety of molecules of differing molecular
weight. METHODS. II In the gel filtration step, we began with a slurry of Bio Gel P 100 beads
suspended in 20 mM phosphate buffer (Equilibration buffer) and an upright column with a stopcock.
We added enough of the Bio Gel P 100 beads to the column until we reached a height of 4.7 cm,
making sure not to allow the column to run dry and that the top of the beads column is flat. We then

I think the one heroic character trait that fits Odysseus best is cunning . There are many stories from
The Wanderings that shows just how cunning Odysseus is; from tricking monsters like the cyclops, to

much but without Odysseus s cunning trait things would have ended up completely different. If

was a beggar, but because Odysseus is such a cunning hero he is able to have much more power than

previously revamp with the Afford able health care plan is still not working for everyone. In 2009,
50.7 million of the population in the United States had no health insurance; this reflects 16.7 percent
of the total population, and 10 percent under the age of 18 (Wolf, 2010). The new law put forth by
President Barack Obama is structured to help a greater number of people in poorer and middle income
According to Bovbjerg and Hadley (2007), the following is true: members of our society who have no
insurance receive medical care in lesser amounts and in less timely fashion; health outcomes for those
without insurance are 25 percent higher than for those diagnosed with chronic illnesses; families with
no insurance carry a large financial burden making the expansion of coverage a greater benefit than
the costs that are for services added. We must find a solution to this problem; we are the wealthiest

velvet chairs, all became one beautiful flying wheel. this shows us that immediately after the fat man
leaves the ball goes back to normal and Leila forgets him and carries on with her youthful fantasy

1. An example of foreshadowing in The Leap occurs when the narrator recalls her mother telling her
that she would be amazed at how many things a person can do within the act of falling . This
foreshadows their leap from the fire. Erdrich builds suspense throughout the story through multiple
references to falling and being saved leading to the expectation that something bad will happen to the
narrator. Erdrich also creates suspense through her use of words, such as describing the storm which
caused the death of Anna s husband as a deadly gale . 2. An example of contrast in the story is that
between the first time Anna makes a leap in order to protect the life of her unborn child, and the final
leap in which Anna saves the narrator from the fire. During the first leap, Anna makes a decision in the
attempt to allow her baby a full life; however, the child ends up dying only a few months later. In the
final leap, Anna once again must rescue her child, and this time succeeds in allowing her child a long
