Microsoft Access As A Database Program
Even though Microsoft Access has been around for a while now many people still do not know
how to use it and are just learning about it. Some different kinds of people that use Microsoft
Access include: scientists, employees in large office firms, any kind of business major, and quite a
few more. When it comes to working with MicrosoftAccess, people should know what it even is,
what the kinds of benefits there are, and what some of the different components are.
Microsoft Access is a database program. According to What is Microsoft Access Used For?
(2015), Microsoft Access is an information management tool that helps you store information for
reference, reporting, and analysis. Microsoft Access helps you analyze large amounts of
information, and manage related data more efficiently than Microsoft Excel or other
spreadsheet applications ( What is Microsoft Access Used For? , 2015). Since Access helps
analyze large amounts of information; it is more commonly used in larger businesses. Although
it is more common in larger businesses, small businesses can still use Access. If a company or
person in general outgrows Access database, it is very easy to upgrade to the next option. The
next option is using a Microsoft SQL Server. When someone switches to Microsoft SQL Server
from Microsoft Access, they can send all of their tables and data to the server. They can also keep
all of their reports, forms, and queries that were made and worked on while using Microsoft
Access. If

Federal Communication Commission Research Paper
History of the Federal Communication Commission
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is an independent Federal regulatory agency
authorized by Congress by the Communications Act of 1934 as the replacement to the Federal
Radio Commission and is charged with regulating all non Federal Government use of the radio
spectrum including radio and television broadcasting and interstate telecommunications wire,
satellite and cable as well as international communications that originate or terminate in the United
States. The FCC took over wire communication regulation from the Interstate Commerce
Commission in 1934 and congress had not changed the FCC s regulatory authority until congress
passed the Telecommunication Act of 1996.

The Battle Of The United States
It had been over a year since anyone had seen an aircraft carrier sitting off the coast; it was a
mother hen looking over her young. The small armada had made good time and arrived in the
late evening of the fifth day. The USS Iowa with her powerful guns standing guard; Sailors were
at their battle stations twenty four seven now, in the morning the transports would make their
way into Norfolk followed by the Iowa. The USS Hornet would remain on duty off the coast; the
Iowa would only be in port long enough to drop off the Admiral, once that was done it would
quickly return to the Hornet. There had been no order to begin air operations for the Hornet,
apparently the air space in and around the Army of the Potomac was going to be somewhat busy
very soon, that s all the Admiral knew. At sunrise the transports and the Iowa made their way to
Norfolk, they expected to dock by 0800, the Admiral and his staff would exit the Iowa as soon as
it was safe to leave it. Even though there was no direct threat against the Hornet the Admiral didn t
want to leave her unattended too long. The USS Iowa was only expected to be in port no more
than sixty minutes. She would than return to her duties over shadowing the Hornet, the Admiral
knew he was being a bit paranoid, hell no one even knew there were here. The transports docked at
0748 and at 0810 the Marines started to disembark, thousands of them. Once off the ship they
formed into Companies, which formed the Battalions, from

The Peloponnesian War
The Peloponnesian War lasted for thirty years, and was orchestrated and fueled by both Athens
and Sparta. The Spartans were more to blame for the civil war; they were known for their
extensive training of fierce warriors and their passion to overcome any challenge. Sparta s allies,
Corinth and Megara were also to be blamed for encouraging the Spartans to engage in war with
Athens. Thus invoking and responding to the Athenians challenge leading to a long bloody war that
lasted for thirty years. It is clear that the Spartans were to blame for the Peloponnesian War, since
they initiated the war, prolonged the war, and brought the war to a halt.
Both Athens and Sparta wanted to dominate the Peloponnese Peninsula, each with the same
intentions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is clear that the Spartans were to blame for the Peloponnesian War by initiating it, prolonging
it, and by bringing it to an end and defeating the Athenians. The fore mentioned shows the
Spartans were determined to be the most dominant force in the region and we can see that a
simple victory wouldn t suffice as they prolonged the war even after it was evident that they
were always a force to be reckoned with. Sparta had a rich tradition of training strong male
individuals that feared no one. Interesting even Sparta allies, gave in on the fact of sacrificing their
lives, but never breaking their alliance to Sparta. Overall the Spartans and her allies were the cause
of this bloodstained conflict that lasted for a good twenty seven

Descriptive Essay On A Old Dog
Our previous dog had just died and we had to put him asleep because he was really old and sick. He
had cancer in many spots in his body, he had a massive tumor, and he felt all around miserable.
After his sad death within a few months we decided to get a new dog. My dad wanted a hunting
dog so that narrowed our options of what type of dogthat we could get. The dogs we wanted the
most were an Irish setter, English setter, or a German shorthaired pointer which was the type of dog
that had just died. All the English setters either costed way to much or were on the opposite side
of the country. Some of them were even in different countries. All the Irish setter puppy s were
too far away or to much except one breeder had them in Missouri which wasn t to far but we
wanted to see if we could find anything else especially because there were a lot of pointers that
were in our price range.
There was one pointer that we wanted a lot so we decided to meet him at a field with the
previous owner. His name was Willy and he was a pointer that we found on a rescue sight. He was
about a year old and he was already being trained to hunt. After we met him we thought about
getting him in about a week.
It was Saturday and we were going to pick up the new dog the next day. We got a phone call from
the person who was giving him a temporary house. Once my dad got off the phone he said, I just
got off the phone with the temporary owner and she said she took Willy to work and

Porter s five forces and extended eight forces analysis(industry profitability analysis)
Power of buyers : low but increasing
Buyers can be categorized as follows: banks, retailers, restaurants, and leisure facilities
Shopping centre industry is in oligoploly. Most of the buyers such as retailers (tenants) are
individually small and have no strong bargaining power over shopping centre owners.
There are a large number of retailers and service providers in the market. As demand for space is
high, shopping centres attract them to join in and pay more rent for the higher consumer traffic.
However, the power of buyers has been increasing as retailers can now choose locations outside of
S/Cs to save high rents, or open their own online shops. This will in turn exert pressure on S/C to
reduce lease terms and cost
Available margins will shift back to manufacturers (brands) which used to go to retailors
Threat of new entrants: low to medium
High entry barrier: shopping centers are purpose built complexes which require large capital
investment
Industry not as attractive as before for new entrants due to impact of online shopping
There is not much legally restriction for entry.
Power of suppliers: Low
Shopping centre industry s main supplier are utility providers, construction contractors, cleaning
security companies.
No switching cost as there are many suppliers in the market.

How Does Chimpanzees Use Language
Can animals learn to use language or is it all a load of monkey business? Animals can not use
language because language is an exclusive skill that belongs to humans. Chimpanzees can
communicate with each other, but that doesn t qualify as language. One type of Chimpanzee is
learning in a laboratory, however, they are only learning simplistic symbols.
One reason why Chimps communicate but don t use language is they can be trained since birth, but
they still won t be able to communicate with the complexity level that humans do. Kanzi the
Bonobo learned 348 symbols at the age of 26 which is the equivalent 3,000 English words. Even if
animals could use a language they could very well not be able to speak clearly because of their
low count of known words. The Bonobo Kanzi is living in a 10 million dollar lab/ home complex.

that animals aren t improving their way of communication but doing a task for their exquisite food.
The animals that are learning at the 10 million dollar house laboratory are learning how to

Reflective Essay On Practicum Experience
I am writing this reflection essay based on one of my experiences while on practicum. Between
myself, fellow student, a patient (Mr X) and my Student Nurse Educator (SNE). On the
Orthopaedic ward. Using the Gibbs refection cycle (Gibbs, 1988). Description Myself and a fellow
student were asked if we would like to give Mr X a bed bath. I said yes. It was done under the
supervision of our SNE. Mr X had come out of surgery that day, he had a spinal operation and
was not allowed to sit up any further than what he was or be moved too much in either direction.
Upon entering Mr X s room I washed my hands, pulled the curtains, introduced myself, as well as
letting Mr X know what I was there to do and asked for his consent (New Zealand, 2013). I asked...

something I need to work on as I have always been that way and I find it is very frustrating at
times. Furthermore, when I was told about Mr X having had spinal surgery I think that I should
have spoken up and said to my SNE could we please have a bit more of a briefing on Mr X
condition, from the registered nurse that was assigned to Mr X about what I can and cannot do
with him. Also, to know anything else that they think might be important to know. Such as if he
is moved to much he will vomit. Which is why he had a vomit bowl handy throughout the bed
bath. Conclusion The overall experience was a positive one I felt it went well and the Mr X
was happy with his bed bath. I could have made more of an attempt to talking to Mr X and to
have spoken up wanting to know more about his condition. I realised that I need not be so
nervous. I also need to work on my conversational skills. Action plan As part of an action plan I
will read up on effective communication (Jones, 2012). Equally important, is to find techniques to
aid with my nerviness. If the situation arose again I would be incline to ask more about the patient

What Makes a Community Worth Gaming for
Dear friends and students of UTA, I humbly come to you with a simple argument, one that is close
to my heart. Though it may sound trivial, the argument has been raging on for three decades, and
has grown to a nation wide debate. The question: is there such thing as a gaming community?
Again, the question may sound inconsequential, but consider this fellow Mavericks, what makes a
community? Is it just a group of people meeting and having a good time? Or is it more? Is
something like gaming able to unite people from all across the world? Admittedly, the argument is
rather close to my heart. I have been interested games since the age of five. I ... Show more content

In terms of organization, it is perhaps not as strong as a community based upon physical land,
but what it lacks in town hall meetings and elections, it makes up in conventions and LAN
tournaments. The gaming community boasts large gaming conventions such as PAX, and E3,
where thousands of gamers meet and socialize while playing the newest games. LAN is Local
Area Network, which is used to hold massive tournaments where many can pit themselves
against other gamers. These Colosseums are where the celebrities of the gaming world are
born, rising from the bodies of the hundreds they had slain to win. There is no law keeping force,
or governing body to be sure, but it is still a community that can have an impact on the world.
The gaming community is not a legitimate community. It is not legitimate due to its lack of due
to its lack of organization. It may claim to be united but there is little evidence to prove it. The
community is too broken; there is division with consoles, whether an Xbox or a PC is better.
There is division on the genre of games such as shooting games, role playing games and puzzle
games. The communities are too far apart to be a single gaming community. Take a look at the
most played game in the world, League of Legends . It has little to no tie with the popular fighting
game genre, and it is at war with people that play Heroes of Newerth. Nasty internet quarrels, forum
raids and other attacks have gone between the two communities as chronicled in

Mergers Within Media Companies And Organizations
What is strategic alliance? The book has it defines as an association designed to provide benefits
for each of its members. Media companies form alliances for different reasons. Some of these
reasons include the following, providing access to new markets, increasing shareholder value, and
reducing risk. (Albarran 34) There are different types of strategic alliances, with the most common
being mergers and acquisitions, joint ownerships, joint ventures, and formal and informal
cooperative ventures. (Albarran 34) The expertise of people that work for the respective
companies already are now able to work together and helps build new content. Combined
expertise also helps open up doors to reach new target audiences and demographics. Many
companies form alliances to help share in production and distribution costs. The purpose of this
paper is to focus on different mergers within media companies and organizations. What exactly is
a merger? Investopedia defines it as follows A merger is the combining of two or more
companies, generally by offering the stockholders of one company securities in the acquiring
company in exchange for the surrender of their stock. To break it down in a more simplistic way, a
merger is when two companies become one. Majority of the time, if not all the time, the decision to
come together is a mutual agreement between both companies. Majority of the time when a merger
occurs, the company that has the less rank tends to be the company that loses

Materials Of A Rocket Or Space Shuttle
Abstract: Many people think that going to the outer space is not that complex when talking about
the materials of a rocket or space shuttle. Most people believe that metal is all that is needed and
that in fact that is all it has. The truth is that it required a lot of research and procedures to come up
with the right materials to people to withstand rigorous conditions. In other words, materials had to
be engineered to work with extreme heat, cold and pressure changes. Due to some other issues such
as collision from debris and unforeseen events the space shuttlehad to be cancelled. The risks were
too high even with all the engineering of materials.
During the 1955 the race to see who would send the first astronaut to space began between the
United States and the Soviet Union. At that time, they were using rockets without the thought of
being reused. All they really want was to win the race of who would send the first astronaut to
space. As time went by, they decided that the rockets should be able to be reused. The problem
with the first designs is that they were disposable and expensive. So in 1972 the space shuttle
program officially began. The shuttle were a way to lower the costs by having an aircraft
connected with a rocket that would boost it out of space and then be able to land on earth.
Therefore, the aircraft would be reused and just have a new rocket and external tank. The problem
was to come up with a material that could be reused without suffering from

The Death Penalty Is Not Morally Ambiguous
In the United States, there are several topics that are considered morally ambiguous. Among these
contended topics is the death penalty. There are many arguments for and against capital
punishment. One proponent for the death penalty is Ernest van den Haag, who in his article, The
Ultimate Punishment, argues a case for the death penalty. I believe he successfully counters the
arguments against the death penalty leading me to believe it is not something that should be
viewed as inhumane and wrong. I will argue that the death penalty is not morally ambiguous, but a
justified sentence some deserve. Van den Haag believes that in upholding a death sentence,
potential murderers are being deterred, victims protected, and justice served. Many... Show more

Many people have a fear of death, many a fear of confinement. It is impossible to predict which
sentence would deter the most potential murderers. With this in mind, it makes more sense to have
a variety of sentences that would deter the greatest amount of people. Abolishing the death penalty
may result in those who are not deterred by the life sentence continuing to commit heinous crimes.
As van den Haag states, Sparing the lives of even a few prospective victims by deterring their
murderers is more important than preserving the lives of convicted murderers because of the
possibility, or even the probability, that executing them would not deter others (194). The argument
has been made that if we condone the legal execution of convicted murderers, then we are
essentially endorsing murder itself. If this were so, then, as van den Haag points out, prison
sentences would endorse kidnapping and fines would endorse robbery (195). If someone has the
mentality that something the judicial system deems an appropriate punishment is unjust, then that
individual will do as they see fit in retaliation. The death sentence itself does not endorse anything.
This is again something that is defined on an individual level. As with anything in life, there is
always the risk of making a mistake. Those opposed to the death penalty use this as one of their

Airport security is extremely essential for stopping terrorism in the United States. Bombings and
explosions account for 65% of terrorist attacks, armed assaults account for 25% of terrorist
attacks, the last 10% accounts for assassination facility attacks and hostage takings. Today the
Transportation Security Administration, also know as the TSA, has four to five thousand
employees working every day to keep airports safe from a terrorist attack happening. New
technology has made airports safer for travelers, nevertheless not all travelers think it is necessary.

The Transportation Security Administrationemployees make sure travelers are not boarding planes
with weapons, bombs and prohibited items. Before the Transportation Security Administration was
established in 2001 there were many terrorist attacks around the world. The first terrorist attack
aboard a plane was in 1933 (Airport, 2013). There still are terrorist attacks happening today for
instance the underwear bombing on the Northwest flight 253 to Detroit on Christmas Day in 2009,
and the shoe bombing in the fall of 2008. Another example demonstrating that since 2001 terrorist
attacks have become less frequent is in the 1960s there was a wave of high profile airline hijacking
which then prompted the airline industry to tighten security (Airpory, 2013). This is an exceptional
example because nothing has happened like that since the 1960s (Shane, 2013). Even though the
airline industry made some adjustments, it was not enough to protect passengers like the
Transportation Security Administration protects them now. Today the Transportation Security
Administration has advanced airport technology with bottle liquid scanners, an explosive detection
system and baggage security. In response to an underwear bombing the Transportation Security
Administration instituted more rigorous passenger screening methods (Liberman,

Character Analysis Of James Watson In The Novel The Double...
James Watson James Watson is both the narrator and author of the novel The Double Helix. The
reader begins to understand this character by the actions and ways this character is treated. He is
at the time 19 years old and graduated from the University of Chicago. James Watson is a character
the reader can relate to with events such as James not just focusing on science, but enjoying parties
and meeting the girls at Cambridge University. He is portrayed as a very determined scientist as he
throughout the novel. He shows this when he studies RNA, bacterial sextuality and most
importantly DNA. He dreamed of achieving scientific glory through genetics and microbiology.
Watson uses most of his time working and struggling with Francis Crickto create a DNA model.
Him and Crick work well together even through some road blocks and bumps. Along the way
Watson also works with Maurice Wilkins and Rosalind Franklin. Rosalind Franklin provides
conflict because she has difficulty at first working and getting along with the others. This group of
scientist navigates a new world of discoveries as they race other scientists to the DNA structure.
They are motivated by this competition and they use the mistakes of the other scientist to their
advantage. For example when they get hold of a draft of Pauling s most recent breakthrough on
DNA. They are shocked and disappointed to find out it looks as though he has cracked it, however
it turns out he has made some very noticeable mistakes. The

The Punch List Obligations of a Construction Project Manager at Project Closeout

Abstract
Most constructions contracts tends to be very specific in regards to the overall planned financial
budget of the construction work, the expected quality of the job output from the contractor as well
as the duration (time) that is allowed to complete the work. But it is very common that in most
cases, it would seem that all that would be required to closing out a construction or any other type
of a major capital project would be just to inspect it, accept it and see that the contractor is able to

Introduction
Constructions project management involves the direct and daily monitoring of all construction
activities and tasks, including all the construction methodologies that is being applied, as well as
the personnel that directs or guides the project through every single stage or phase of its life cycle.
It is pertinent to know that not all constructions jobs might not be successfully completed due to
some changed conditions or unforeseen circumstances beyond control like the effects of nature and
differing site conditions. Some of the constructions projects get rejected or are abruptly cancelled
due to reasons best known to either the contractor or the client as the case maybe, but whatever
happens regardless. Proper and effective closure is always needed on all constructions projects.
According to the words of the author Joseph A. Griffin (2011) titled How to Close a Project , he
noted that Closing a project should be treated as an integral part of the project plan. The closing
process does not begin at the end of the project, but during the planning phase. Each step should be
carefully planned and executed as any other portion of the project . Propounding on the suggested
timeline for preparations of a project closeout, the authors Edward R. Fisk and Wayne D. Reynolds
(2014) in the Tenth Edition of their publications titled Construction Project Administration noted on
page 347, that The closeout period may actually begin several weeks to a month

Karl Marx View On Capitalism
Karl Marx was a philosopher who was engaged in economic politics, sociology, and radical
politics. Marx saw the world as two different entities. He saw it as a scuffle between the
bourgeoisie and the proletariats. This is what divided the capitalist society. Marx believed
everyone works in some shape, form, and fashion. The bourgeoisie were the individuals that held
the capital and the proletariats were the wage laborers. The social aspect would then come in to
play. Marx would then try to figure out how the bourgeoise and the proletariats could thrive in a
world that had the poverty but there was plenty of wealth. Meaning how would the individuals who

However, we learned in Dr. Tatum s class that Rousseau had a major influence on the French and
American Revolutions. Rousseau seems to explore more on freedom rather than radical politics.
In my opinion, Rousseau would evaluate in the state of nature how man would have their
freedom. You could say that men or man is actually free because he is not forced by state or other
individuals. Another way, man is mentally and spiritually free and is not succumbed to wants or
needs of society. Rousseau thought that a worthy government should be or have freedom for
everyone in its social class. From the Discourse of Inequality to the possibility of being well
governed: in which every person being equal to his occupation, no one should be obliged to
commit to others the functions with which he was entrusted: a State, in which all the individuals

veterans are associated with Improvised Explosive Devices used by the enemy against U.S. forces

Veterans suffering from PTSD are unable to integrate the memories of the trauma properly.
Amnesia is likely to be caused by excessive norepinephrine (NE) or vasopressin release at the time
of the trauma. Memories of the trauma can also be triggered by physiological arousal. They tend to
relive the past and misinterpret innocuous stimuli as potential threats. They are also more sensitive
to sounds. Neutralizing stimuli in the environment to attend to relevant tasks is very difficult.
Instead they tend to shut down to compensate. This leads to decreased involvement in ordinary,
everyday life (Van der Kolk, B., McFarlane, A., Weisaeth, L., 1996).
Diagnosing PTSD and MTBI is done by grouping symptoms together, and difficulties in
differentiating between these brain disorders are caused by symptoms that occur in both disorders.
Even though the two can be difficult to discern by symptoms alone, in a brain scan, they are hardly
similar. A veteran with a traumatic brain injuryshows less activity in areas of the brain that are

He uploaded the video on YouTube, where it was shared millions of times. He has never been

The United States Of America Elected A New President Essay
On November 9, 2016 the United States of America elected a new president. Donald J. Trump
won the Electoral College and will take office on January 20, 2017. However, the president elect
lost the popular vote by more than 1.5 million votes (MSNBC, 2016). Although this was already
the case when George W. Bush won against Al Gore in 2000, the country is now more dividend
than in the past. One week after the election was over, 1000 students at Syracuse University
protested against Mr. Trump and declared that they reject the president elect (Daily Orange, 2016).
Nationwide, protesters conveyed the unique message that they are ready to disobey executive
actions of a Trump administration. This poses a general question. What role should obedience play
in modern western nations? Although autonomous obedience can unleash valuable group
dynamics, extreme compulsory obedience can lead to disastrous outcomes. History indicates that
obedience in the context of a nation is most successful when people see substantial reasons to obey
the orders of a government and its subdivisions. During World War II the American military
defeated fascism on various geographical fronts. Although it was not mandatory to serve in the US
military, many volunteers were ready to fight for American values like individual freedom and
democracy. This created what Lieutenant Colonel Kenneth H. Wenker calls autonomous obedience
(Walker, 1981). According to the Professor of Philosophy at the US Air Force Academy,

General Definitions
Before going into the background of the Walt Disney Company and its theme parks, it is necessary
to define some terms that are used throughout the paper. These terms are defined as the researcher
understands them as a former cast member of the Walt Disney Company. The first term that needs
to be defined is guest . Instead of calling people who visit their theme parks customers, the Walt
Disney Company refers to visitors of their theme parks as guests. This is to keep up with the show
and the storytelling of the company since Disney is inviting visitors into their home as their guests.
The second term is cast member . Instead of calling their employees, employees, Disney refers to

Since the focus of this paper is international theme parks, only a brief history of the American
theme parks will be discussed. Walt Disney thought of the idea of the theme park one day when he
took his daughters to a local park and watched them as they rode the merry go round (Disney,
2009). Disney wanted a place where children and their parents could have fun and enjoy the rides
together (Disney, 2009). Disneyland was, thus,
Conceived as a celebration of America s past and as a paean to its progress, or as Walt Disney put
it: the older generation can recapture the nostalgia of the days gone by, and the younger generation
can savor the challenge of the future (Bryman, 1999, p.31).
As Bryman argues, Disneyland was designed to make the older generation feel nostalgic. This
feeling of nostalgia is created on Main Street, USA and Frontierland which represent America s
past. Disneyland was also created to capture the imagination of children as seen in Fantasyland and
Tomorrowland.
Disneyland opened in Anaheim, California on July 17th, 1955. Walt Disney s theme park idea
soon expanded past what he had space to build in California which prompted the building of the
Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. The Magic Kingdom, the first theme park built at
Disney World, opened after his death in October of 1971 (Disney, 2009). The feeling of nostalgia
is recreated and expanded in the Magic Kingdom with the addition of a land named Liberty Square

The Importance Of British Literature
British literature has been a controversial subject for a very long time throughout history. The main
topics of its importance or there lack is one of the most significant debates in today s modern age.
American studies have to this day been about British literature, but is it reasonable that we should
study it? Not only is there a big debate about British literature being taught in America, but more
explicitly being taught in high school. Many literary scholars think that reasons of why or why not
coincide with the two. More scholars lean to the opinion that British literature should not be taught
in high school. Furthermore, educators justify their beliefs, but also give practical, logical, and

According to Adams (2013) The age of chivalry is gone: that of sophisters, economists, and
calculators has succeeded; and the glory of Europe is extinguished forever . He said there for
himself that chivalry is no longer relevant, so why should high school student have to learn
about? This goes to prove why British literature should not be taught in high school because
chivalry is a huge component of it and chivalry is dead. In the words of Adams (2013) Chivalry
is best defined as a medieval knightly system, with its religious, moral, and social code . This
means that men should be kind noble and fair to everyone. It is, in reality, a set of moral rules
that one should follow. We hardly ever see any of this in today s society. It is hardly ever that
someone holds the door for another, or helping an elder across the street, or even walking
neighborhood dogs. These examples would be perfect for modern chivalry, but we just don t see it
in our modern world.
A Discussion on Chivalry When discussing medieval chivalry, the topic of modern chivalry
should never arise. Modern chivalry or their lack of is completely and utterly different than that of
medieval chivalry. Chivalry has changed and some may say have died out throughout the ages. It
is an entirely different world that we live in today than that of two thousand years ago. Why should
we discuss it in modern times, if there is no relation to the lack of contemporary

Compromised largely in Kant s ideas, Hegel s systemic philosophy of the State and analysis of
historical summit of the body politic provides the foundation of Marxism and alike. Hegel declares
the concept of state as superior to the individual. In his book Philosophy of History, he establishes
Reason as the rational manifestation of world history which subsists in both natural and spiritual
realms; But the Spirit, and the course of its development, is the substance of history (20). Reason
as the core of Spirit is the self contained existence of itself as that which is free and autonomous.

Hegel presents the State as the epitome of individual freedom in a set of institutions, just like
Christ is represented as the epitome of God in Christian history. The more a State is free, insofar it
is rational and the highest form of Spirit, the closer it is to the State itself. Marx critiques Hegel s
conception of the State in his book Capital as standing on its head (302). He refutes the claim that
the state sustains civil society; rather, Marx stresses, it is the most natural interdependent bond of
the family and civil society which are the necessary essence of the state. His assertion that ...the
ideal is nothing else than the material world reflected by the human mind, and translated into forms
of thought (301) reestablishes Hegel s idealist approach. The state is incapable of maintaining itself
without social consciousness produced by production, which Marx takes to be the legal, political,
and intellectual structure of society. Hence it is the economic life of free mankind in civil society
which manifests the state. Democracy is the only true harmony of the particular and the general.
Marx explains that In democracy, the constitution, the law, the state itself, insofar as it is a political
constitution, is only the self determination of the people, and a particular content of the people (21).
Marx explains that until now the political constitution has been the religious

Outliers Reflection
After reading the chapter in the book Outliers, The Story of Success, I believe that Gladwell did
a great job explaining how different cultures can cause an impact our to the society and the
individuals. Although I love working in a work place that embraces diversity and is accepting
of all kinds of people, this may lead to some challenges due to the differences that we pertain. For
example, every coworker I work with is unique in his or her own way; we were all raised
differently and were born into other communities. Furthermore, this enabled us all have different
ways of doing things or handling situations. One thing that I was taught to do a certain way may
bother a coworker of mine if they do it differently and vise versa which could lead to those
challenges. A talent that someone may be superior at, may be extremely difficult for somebody
else. In the end, everyone has their own talents which should be embraced and used in order to
become successful. In the book, they mentioned how Korean Airlines at the time were... Show more

The Importance Of Imperialism In Shakespeare s The Tempest
When a person takes a ball of red play doh and smashes it together with a second ball of blue play
do, it creates purple. Can the two colors ever go back to their original state of being just red, and
just blue? When two colors are mixed, the action can never be undone, therefore, they can never
return to the natural and pure versions of themselves that they once were . Due to imperialism,
when you emerge one culturewith another for even a small period of time, the original residents are
permanently permeated with the new culture, an action that can never be reversed. In a sense, once
a pure and natural civilizationis infused with another lifestyle, the effects, no matter how small, will
leave the native civilization changed. Montaigne deduces that there is a natural untouched form of
nature and a new nature, that is essentially impure. Impure in the sense that society has fallen out of
step with the natural way of life, to create their own rules, and own way of living. Shakespeare
agrees with Montaigne when it comes to imperialism and ruining the pure state of innocence, and
his agreement is shown through his play, The Tempest.
The Renaissance philosopher, Montaigne, insists through his essay, Of Cannibals , that society
today has corrupted mother nature, and taken away her purity by turning away from the natural
order to make their own set of rules, and execute their own way of living. Civilizations were once
born through nature, thus they lived by nature. In the

2008 Recession Research Paper
Wall Street is the great and powerful financial district of the world. With that statement being true
Wall Street isn t perfect. Wall Street has faced many problems throughout its existence as
recessions and depressions came into play and single handedly pushed America into a financial
crisis. As early as 1929 till as recent as 2008 recessions still occur and throughout the existence of
Wall Street they will never stop existing. The argument of whether or not a recessioncould be

will never simply go away as recession will still occur in the future. It is just a matter of opinion.
Although Wall Street has been known as something great and something this country relies on

Different Organisational Structures And Cultures
1.1 Compare and contrast different organisational structures and cultures.
Organisational structure
According to Robbins and Judge (2008), the structure of an organisation determines the way duties
and tasks are split as well as coordinated inside the organisation. Any structure utilised by an
organisation would depend on the size of that organisation and also the purpose and goals for which
the organisation stands for (Brooks, 2003). For example, there is the product or activity based
structure, the functional structure and the matrix structure.
Product based structure
In using a product based structure, the major concentration is the activity been carried out.
Individuals from different disciplines work in the same section with a general or common goal. In
addition, there is some form of competition amongst the different sections. However, this type of
structure can block communication and cause a lack of target similarity.
The functional structure
Unlike the functional structure has an arrangement that is based on the role that is performed by
the different sections of the organisation. This means that each unit/department is focused on its
area of capability or expertise and therefore enable them specialise in their areas. For example, the
Human resource department, sales and marketing department, logistics department etc. Usually,
someone is made accountable for this division hence, there is increase in accountability.
Functionality is also very clear. On the other

The Importance of Loss in Scott Fitzgerald s Winter Dreams
In the traditional Romance narrative, there is some desirable object whose consummation is the
driving preoccupation of the text s protagonist. The aspiration of the Romantic hero is to capture
that elusive object that will, nevertheless, consistently out strip him. These heroes are intimately
acquainted with the pain of the loss and suffer deeply for feeling so acutely. However, loss itself,
is essential to the equation and is, in fact, a large portion of what establishes the thing as desirable.
In the texts of traditional Romanticism the individual has preeminence, and his or her subjective

Here we are operating in a decidedly liminal sphere. Fitzgerald masterfully weaves this intricate
web whose lines are taut with the tension of the forces between which it is extended. He is quoted
as having said of his celebrated The Great Gatsby (of which Winter Dreamsis an early version):
That s the whole burden of the novel the loss of illusions that give such color to the world so
that you don t care whether things are true or false as long as they partake of the magical glory
(Preface, Gatsby XV). Referring back to the pivotal Realist question, Fitzgerald seems to be
indicating that what is as stake is the system that validates our notions of loss. The illusions that
give such color to the world have allowed us to passionately bemoan the loss of isolated actualized
selves, but strip away the illusion of the solipsistic being that is utterly impervious to social forces
and one it left with nothing to bemoan.
There is a passion in Winter Dreams protagonist Dexter Green that clings to the dream because
The thing was deep in him. He was too strong, too alive for it to die lightly (2136). And yet, of
his love for the alluringly elusive Judy Jones, we are told: It excited him that many men had loved
her. It increased her value in his eyes [my italics] (N 2131). In these two statements we see the
narrator s stylistic shift between an admiration

Sons Of Liberty Analysis
Benjamin Franklin once said We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.
The quote represents how the Sons of Liberty were all in, and there was no backing down to the
British. They fought together and they were going to die together as long as they fought for what s
right. The Sons of Libertyattempted peaceful solutions to the taxations from the king, fought for
what they believed in, and were just acting out against the king in self defense which shows the
Sons of Liberty are patriotic leaders, not terrorists.
First, the Sons of Liberty attempted peaceful solutions. On page 99 in the text United States
History Beginning to 1914 the text states, A popular method of protest was the boy cott, in which
people refused to buy British goods. The first colonial boycott started in New York in 1765. This
quote shows that the colonists resorted to a peaceful protest to express their concern for the new
taxations. This matter because originally the colonists did not want to fight they just wanted to be
represented. Which shows they are patriots because they are sticking up for themselves and their
rights. The colonists did not only try peaceful solutions once. They attempted multiple times. An
example of this is on page 114 in our textbooks. The text United States History Beginning to 1914
also states On July 5 the delegates signed the Olive Branch Petition as a final attempt to restore
harmony. King George refused to read it. This quote

Liquid Chondroitin
Liquid glucosamine chondroitin is used to treat joint pain and inflammation associated with
osteoarthritis and other joint and bone conditions. So why does glucosamine and chondroitin
work so well together? They are both molecules which make up the cartilage that is found in our

few, if any, side effects to taking glucosamine and chondroitin joint supplements. There is also some
evidence that NSAID s can actually INCREASE the progression of arthritis! This is a big risk to
take if you are trying to reduce your arthritis symptoms. Glucosamine chondroitin on the other hand

followed after a week of constant pressure by British infantry and tanks. On 4th of November he
ordered to all of his people to retreat. Despite the eventual loss Rommel was a national hero for
Nazi Germany. Anybody who came under the spell of his personality turned into a real soldier.
He seemed to know what the enemy were like and how they would react. (Theodor Werner) This
is a quote from one of the officers who served with the Desert Fox about Rommel. After the fail
of anti Hitler s coup in 1944, one of its members, dying in tortures, named Rommel, and that
determined the future of the great commander. On October 14th, Hitler sent to Rommel who
was recovering from the wound two officers, giving him in honor of past services a choice to
commit a suicide and leave as a hero or a to be brought before a Public Tribunal, which in face
meant an automatic death sentence . I shall be dead in a quarter of an hour ( The Forced Suicide
of Field Marshall Rommel, 1944) said the brave man and his wife took poison. Yet Rommel, as
well as other Nazi generals, carries the share of responsibility for the world tragedy. He remained
loyal to Hitler, because, being in full confidence that fulfills his military duty, took no notice of non
military consequences of Naxi activities. In this self deception lies the tragedy

Advantages And Disadvantages Of The ICP Over Other...
The main analytical advantages of the ICP over other excitation sources are: (1) Arrangement of
elements could be measured in single analysis cycle (2) Accurate to determine elemental
concentration (3) Capability for efficient and reproducible vaporization, atomization, excitation,
and ionization for a wide range of elements in various sample matrices. This is probably due to
the high temperature of about 6000 7000 K, in the observation zones of the ICP. This temperature
is much higher than the maximum temperature of flames or furnaces of about (3300 K). The high
temperature of the ICP also makes it capable of exciting refractory elements, and renders it less
prone to matrix interferences (Xiandeng,H. Bradley, T.J. 2000). In review, there were many studies

Chemical interference is relatively low due to the use of chemical modifiers to stabilize the
analyte and make the matrix more volatile; hence, it contributes in further improvement to the
sensitivity of this technique. However, the technique has some disadvantages like: (1) limited
working range, (2) slow analysis, and (3) high cost (Harvey, D. 2010). Turkey also one of the
countries that aims to ensure the quality and safety of the products in order to protect health of
their citizens by the determination of multi element levels in leaves and herbal teas from Turkey
not Egypt by using ICP OES, but in turkey they used to drink different kind of teas in different
ways , also levels of contamination and usage of pesticides and fertilizers is totally different which
is not applicable in Egypt as a scientific research (Esra et al.,

Conspiracy Theory Of Pizzagate
The spread of fake news can be detrimental and life altering without checking the validity of
sources and facts before passing on such news to others. Pizzagate was a conspiracy theory that
went viral during the 2016 Presidential Election campaign, which alleged there was a child sex
ring taking place and the top Democrats had something to do with it (Pizzagate: A Slice of Fake
News). Some believe it all started when John Podesta, Hillary Clinton s campaign manager, had
his email account hacked. Tons of emails were leaked and made public. His emails were said to
contain coded messages that referred to human trafficking and were also connected to the Comet
Ping Pong pizza parlor ( Pizzagate: A Slice of Fake News). James Alefantis is the owner of the
Comet Ping Pong and also an acquaintance of Podesta. One email did contain Podesta and
Alefantis discussing a fundraiser idea for Hillary Clinton, but no talk happened about the alleged
child sex ring. While this news was spreading fast, Alefantis and his forty plus employees were
receiving deaths threats, negative tweets on Twitter and Facebook, and facing harassing altercations
with strangers. The staff observed social media outlets and counted five #pizzagate Twitter posts a
minute at one point (Kang). Alefantis himself said that, From this insane, fabricated conspiracy
theory, we ve come under constant assault. (Kang) The only people that know what is true in the
Pizzagate conspiracy theory are the ones who are

The Heart And Vascular Institute
Clinical Specialty Area
The clinical area chosen was the Heart and Vascular Institute through one of the hospital systems I
am employed with. I had been involved with a project that studied the readmissions experienced
within the hospital system and established heart failure (HF) and chronic obstructive pulmonary
disorders (COPD) were our highest readmission problems. Our organization had found that
millions of dollars had been left on the table since the Centers for Medicare Medicaid (CMS)
handed down their final ruling in 2012 regarding reduced payments for preventable readmissions
(CMS.gov, 2016).
One of the outcomes of the project was the development of the rapid diuresis unit (RDU) through
our Cardiac Decision Units (CDU) at several campuses. I often wondered how the RDU of the
CDU was set up and how they function within the system. This is my opportunity to see the
operation firsthand, the clientele it serves, the staff, and potential education needs that the
department faces.

Health Problems Of High Fructose Corn Syrup
It todays society, health problems are becoming the norm. Adult obesity rates now exceed 35
percent in four states, 30 percent in 25 states and are above 20 percent in all states (Trust for
America s Health and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation). Some of these major health problems can
be prevented such as some diabetes, obesity that is not genetically inherited, as well as a reduced
insulinproduction. To do this we need to start by looking at the foods that we eat, as well as the
FDA s foodstandards. High Fructose Corn Syrupis in almost every processed food out there. This
additive has replaced cane sugar because it is cheaper and easier to produce, even though is
poses commonly know health risks like liver failure, obesity, and a reduced insulin production,
and lesser known concerns such as mercury that are not spoken of that often. The federal
government needs to get rid of High Fructose Corn Syrup in our processed foods because of the
known health risks in both the production and consumption. We all know that High Fructose
Corn Syrup is in our food but we don t know what it truly is and its hidden health risks it carries.
High Fructose Corn Syrup is mad of two main things: fructose and glucose. Fructose is a sugar
that is found in many fruits and vegetables, and glucose is a sugar that helps our bodies retain
energy. Fructose is a tough energy source for the body to use due to it has to be processed through
the liver. It is also more lipogenic, or fat producing,

The small armada had made good time and arrived in the late evening of the fifth day. The USS Iowa with her powerful guns standing guard; Sailors were at their battle stations twenty four seven now, in the morning the transports would make their way into Norfolk followed by the Iowa. The USS Hornet would remain on duty off the coast; the Iowa would only be in port long enough to drop off the Admiral, once that was done it would quickly return to the Hornet. There had been no order to begin air operations for the Hornet, apparently the air space in and around the Army of the Potomac was going to be somewhat busy very soon, that s all the Admiral knew. At sunrise the transports and the Iowa made their way to Norfolk, they expected to dock by 0800, the Admiral and his staff would exit the Iowa as soon as it was safe to leave it. Even though there was no direct threat against the Hornet the Admiral didn t want to leave her unattended too long. The USS Iowa was only expected to be in port no more than sixty minutes. She would than return to her duties over shadowing the Hornet, the Admiral knew he was being a bit paranoid, hell no one even knew there were here. The transports docked at 0748 and at 0810 the Marines started to disembark, thousands of them. Once off the ship they formed into Companies, which formed the Battalions, from ... The Spartans were more to blame for the civil war; they were known for their extensive training of fierce warriors and their passion to overcome any challenge. Sparta s allies, Corinth and Megara were also to be blamed for encouraging the Spartans to engage in war with Athens. Thus invoking and responding to the Athenians challenge leading to a long bloody war that lasted for thirty years. It is clear that the Spartans were to blame for the Peloponnesian War, since they initiated the war, prolonged the war, and brought the war to a halt. The fore mentioned shows the Spartans were determined to be the most dominant force in the region and we can see that a simple victory wouldn t suffice as they prolonged the war even after it was evident that they were always a force to be reckoned with. Sparta had a rich tradition of training strong male individuals that feared no one. He had cancer in many spots in his body, he had a massive tumor, and he felt all around miserable. After his sad death within a few months we decided to get a new dog. My dad wanted a hunting dog so that narrowed our options of what type of dogthat we could get. The dogs we wanted the most were an Irish setter, English setter, or a German shorthaired pointer which was the type of dog that had just died. All the English setters either costed way to much or were on the opposite side of the country. Some of them were even in different countries. All the Irish setter puppy s were too far away or to much except one breeder had them in Missouri which wasn t to far but we wanted to see if we could find anything else especially because there were a lot of pointers that were in our price range. There was one pointer that we wanted a lot so we decided to meet him at a field with the previous owner. His name was Willy and he was a pointer that we found on a rescue sight. He was about a year old and he was already being trained to hunt. After we met him we thought about getting him in about a week. It was Saturday and we were going to pick up the new dog the next day. We got a phone call from the person who was giving him a temporary house. Most of the buyers such as retailers (tenants) are individually small and have no strong bargaining power over shopping centre owners. There are a large number of retailers and service providers in the market. As demand for space is high, shopping centres attract them to join in and pay more rent for the higher consumer traffic. However, the power of buyers has been increasing as retailers can now choose locations outside of S/Cs to save high rents, or open their own online shops. This will in turn exert pressure on S/C to reduce lease terms and cost Available margins will shift back to manufacturers (brands) which used to go to retailors Threat of new entrants: low to medium High entry barrier: shopping centers are purpose built complexes which require large capital investment Industry not as attractive as before for new entrants due to impact of online shopping There is not much legally restriction for entry. Animals can not use language because language is an exclusive skill that belongs to humans. Chimpanzees can communicate with each other, but that doesn t qualify as language. One type of Chimpanzee is learning in a laboratory, however, they are only learning simplistic symbols. One reason why Chimps communicate but don t use language is they can be trained since birth, but they still won t be able to communicate with the complexity level that humans do. Description Myself and a fellow student were asked if we would like to give Mr X a bed bath. I said yes. It was done under the supervision of our SNE. Mr X had come out of surgery that day, he had a spinal operation and was not allowed to sit up any further than what he was or be moved too much in either direction. Also, to know anything else that they think might be important to know. Such as if he is moved to much he will vomit. Which is why he had a vomit bowl handy throughout the bed bath. Conclusion The overall experience was a positive one I felt it went well and the Mr X was happy with his bed bath. I could have made more of an attempt to talking to Mr X and to have spoken up wanting to know more about his condition. I realised that I need not be so nervous. Mapping the Issue Essay Jonathan Lee Eng 1302 8 March 2012 Thomas Tutt What Makes a Community Worth Gaming for Dear friends and students of UTA, I humbly come to you with a simple argument, one that is close to my heart. Though it may sound trivial, the argument has been raging on for three decades, and has grown to a nation wide debate. The question: is there such thing as a gaming community? Again, the question may sound inconsequential, but consider this fellow Mavericks, what makes a community? Is it just a group of people meeting and having a good time? Or is it more? Is something like gaming able to unite people from all across the world? Admittedly, the argument is rather close to my heart. I have been interested games since the age of five. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In terms of organization, it is perhaps not as strong as a community based upon physical land, but what it lacks in town hall meetings and elections, it makes up in conventions and LAN tournaments. The gaming community boasts large gaming conventions such as PAX, and E3, where thousands of gamers meet and socialize while playing the newest games. LAN is Local Area Network, which is used to hold massive tournaments where many can pit themselves against other gamers. These Colosseums are where the celebrities of the gaming world are born, rising from the bodies of the hundreds they had slain to win. Media companies form alliances for different reasons. Some of these reasons include the following, providing access to new markets, increasing shareholder value, and reducing risk. (Albarran 34) There are different types of strategic alliances, with the most common being mergers and acquisitions, joint ownerships, joint ventures, and formal and informal cooperative ventures. (Albarran 34) The expertise of people that work for the respective companies already are now able to work together and helps build new content. Combined expertise also helps open up doors to reach new target audiences and demographics. Many companies form alliances to help share in production and distribution costs. The purpose of this paper is to focus on different mergers within media companies and organizations. What exactly is a merger? Investopedia defines it as follows A merger is the combining of two or more companies, generally by offering the stockholders of one company securities in the acquiring company in exchange for the surrender of their stock. To break it down in a more simplistic way, a merger is when two companies become one. • 14. Materials Of A Rocket Or Space Shuttle Abstract: Many people think that going to the outer space is not that complex when talking about the materials of a rocket or space shuttle. Most people believe that metal is all that is needed and that in fact that is all it has. The truth is that it required a lot of research and procedures to come up with the right materials to people to withstand rigorous conditions. In other words, materials had to be engineered to work with extreme heat, cold and pressure changes. Due to some other issues such as collision from debris and unforeseen events the space shuttlehad to be cancelled. The risks were too high even with all the engineering of materials. During the 1955 the race to see who would send the first astronaut to space began between the United States and the Soviet Union. At that time, they were using rockets without the thought of being reused. All they really want was to win the race of who would send the first astronaut to space. As time went by, they decided that the rockets should be able to be reused. The problem with the first designs is that they were disposable and expensive. So in 1972 the space shuttle program officially began. The shuttle were a way to lower the costs by having an aircraft connected with a rocket that would boost it out of space and then be able to land on earth. Therefore, the aircraft would be reused and just have a new rocket and external tank. The problem was to come up with a material that could be reused without suffering from ... • 15. The Death Penalty Is Not Morally Ambiguous In the United States, there are several topics that are considered morally ambiguous. Among these contended topics is the death penalty. There are many arguments for and against capital punishment. One proponent for the death penalty is Ernest van den Haag, who in his article, The Ultimate Punishment, argues a case for the death penalty. I believe he successfully counters the arguments against the death penalty leading me to believe it is not something that should be viewed as inhumane and wrong. I will argue that the death penalty is not morally ambiguous, but a justified sentence some deserve. Van den Haag believes that in upholding a death sentence, potential murderers are being deterred, victims protected, and justice served. Many... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many people have a fear of death, many a fear of confinement. It is impossible to predict which sentence would deter the most potential murderers. With this in mind, it makes more sense to have a variety of sentences that would deter the greatest amount of people. Abolishing the death penalty may result in those who are not deterred by the life sentence continuing to commit heinous crimes. As van den Haag states, Sparing the lives of even a few prospective victims by deterring their murderers is more important than preserving the lives of convicted murderers because of the possibility, or even the probability, that executing them would not deter others (194). The argument has been made that if we condone the legal execution of convicted murderers, then we are essentially endorsing murder itself. If this were so, then, as van den Haag points out, prison sentences would endorse kidnapping and fines would endorse robbery (195). If someone has the mentality that something the judicial system deems an appropriate punishment is unjust, then that individual will do as they see fit in retaliation. The death sentence itself does not endorse anything. This is again something that is defined on an individual level. As with anything in life, there is always the risk of making a mistake. Bombings and explosions account for 65% of terrorist attacks, armed assaults account for 25% of terrorist attacks, the last 10% accounts for assassination facility attacks and hostage takings. Today the Transportation Security Administration, also know as the TSA, has four to five thousand employees working every day to keep airports safe from a terrorist attack happening. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Transportation Security Administrationemployees make sure travelers are not boarding planes with weapons, bombs and prohibited items. Before the Transportation Security Administration was established in 2001 there were many terrorist attacks around the world. The first terrorist attack aboard a plane was in 1933 (Airport, 2013). There still are terrorist attacks happening today for instance the underwear bombing on the Northwest flight 253 to Detroit on Christmas Day in 2009, and the shoe bombing in the fall of 2008. Another example demonstrating that since 2001 terrorist attacks have become less frequent is in the 1960s there was a wave of high profile airline hijacking which then prompted the airline industry to tighten security (Airpory, 2013). This is an exceptional example because nothing has happened like that since the 1960s (Shane, 2013). Even though the airline industry made some adjustments, it was not enough to protect passengers like the Transportation Security Administration protects them now. Today the Transportation Security Administration has advanced airport technology with bottle liquid scanners, an explosive detection system and baggage security. The reader begins to understand this character by the actions and ways this character is treated. He is at the time 19 years old and graduated from the University of Chicago. James Watson is a character the reader can relate to with events such as James not just focusing on science, but enjoying parties and meeting the girls at Cambridge University. He is portrayed as a very determined scientist as he throughout the novel. He shows this when he studies RNA, bacterial sextuality and most importantly DNA. He dreamed of achieving scientific glory through genetics and microbiology. Watson uses most of his time working and struggling with Francis Crickto create a DNA model. Him and Crick work well together even through some road blocks and bumps. Along the way Watson also works with Maurice Wilkins and Rosalind Franklin. Rosalind Franklin provides conflict because she has difficulty at first working and getting along with the others. This group of scientist navigates a new world of discoveries as they race other scientists to the DNA structure. They are motivated by this competition and they use the mistakes of the other scientist to their advantage. For example when they get hold of a draft of Pauling s most recent breakthrough on DNA. They are shocked and disappointed to find out it looks as though he has cracked it, however it turns out he has made some very noticeable mistakes. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some of the constructions projects get rejected or are abruptly cancelled due to reasons best known to either the contractor or the client as the case maybe, but whatever happens regardless. He saw it as a scuffle between the bourgeoisie and the proletariats. This is what divided the capitalist society. Marx believed everyone works in some shape, form, and fashion. The bourgeoisie were the individuals that held the capital and the proletariats were the wage laborers. The social aspect would then come in to play. However, we learned in Dr. Tatum s class that Rousseau had a major influence on the French and American Revolutions. Rousseau seems to explore more on freedom rather than radical politics. In my opinion, Rousseau would evaluate in the state of nature how man would have their freedom. You could say that men or man is actually free because he is not forced by state or other individuals. Another way, man is mentally and spiritually free and is not succumbed to wants or needs of society. Rousseau thought that a worthy government should be or have freedom for everyone in its social class. From the Discourse of Inequality to the possibility of being well governed: in which every person being equal to his occupation, no one should be obliged to commit to others the functions with which he was entrusted: a State, in which all the individuals being well known to one another, neither the secret machinations of vice, nor the modesty of virtue should be able to escape the notice and judgment of the public (Discourse of Inequality, Jean Jacque Rousseau) page1. Neutralizing stimuli in the environment to attend to relevant tasks is very difficult. Instead they tend to shut down to compensate. This leads to decreased involvement in ordinary, everyday life (Van der Kolk, B., McFarlane, A., Weisaeth, L., 1996). Trump won the Electoral College and will take office on January 20, 2017. However, the president elect lost the popular vote by more than 1.5 million votes (MSNBC, 2016). Although this was already the case when George W. Bush won against Al Gore in 2000, the country is now more dividend than in the past. One week after the election was over, 1000 students at Syracuse University protested against Mr. Trump and declared that they reject the president elect (Daily Orange, 2016). Nationwide, protesters conveyed the unique message that they are ready to disobey executive actions of a Trump administration. This poses a general question. What role should obedience play in modern western nations? Although autonomous obedience can unleash valuable group dynamics, extreme compulsory obedience can lead to disastrous outcomes. History indicates that obedience in the context of a nation is most successful when people see substantial reasons to obey the orders of a government and its subdivisions. During World War II the American military defeated fascism on various geographical fronts. Although it was not mandatory to serve in the US military, many volunteers were ready to fight for American values like individual freedom and democracy. This created what Lieutenant Colonel Kenneth H. Wenker calls autonomous obedience (Walker, 1981). According to the Professor of Philosophy at the US Air Force Academy, ... This goes to prove why British literature should not be taught in high school because chivalry is a huge component of it and chivalry is dead. Hegel presents the State as the epitome of individual freedom in a set of institutions, just like Christ is represented as the epitome of God in Christian history. The more a State is free, insofar it is rational and the highest form of Spirit, the closer it is to the State itself. Marx critiques Hegel s conception of the State in his book Capital as standing on its head (302). He refutes the claim that the state sustains civil society; rather, Marx stresses, it is the most natural interdependent bond of the family and civil society which are the necessary essence of the state. His assertion that ...the ideal is nothing else than the material world reflected by the human mind, and translated into forms of thought (301) reestablishes Hegel s idealist approach. The state is incapable of maintaining itself without social consciousness produced by production, which Marx takes to be the legal, political, and intellectual structure of society. Hence it is the economic life of free mankind in civil society which manifests the state. Democracy is the only true harmony of the particular and the general. • 36. Different Organisational Structures And Cultures 1.1 Compare and contrast different organisational structures and cultures. Organisational structure According to Robbins and Judge (2008), the structure of an organisation determines the way duties and tasks are split as well as coordinated inside the organisation. Any structure utilised by an organisation would depend on the size of that organisation and also the purpose and goals for which the organisation stands for (Brooks, 2003). For example, there is the product or activity based structure, the functional structure and the matrix structure. Product based structure In using a product based structure, the major concentration is the activity been carried out. Individuals from different disciplines work in the same section with a general or common goal. In addition, there is some form of competition amongst the different sections. However, this type of structure can block communication and cause a lack of target similarity. The functional structure Unlike the functional structure has an arrangement that is based on the role that is performed by the different sections of the organisation. This means that each unit/department is focused on its area of capability or expertise and therefore enable them specialise in their areas. For example, the Human resource department, sales and marketing department, logistics department etc. Usually, someone is made accountable for this division hence, there is increase in accountability. On page 99 in the text United States History Beginning to 1914 the text states, A popular method of protest was the boy cott, in which people refused to buy British goods. The colonists did not only try peaceful solutions once. They attempted multiple times. An example of this is on page 114 in our textbooks. The text United States History Beginning to 1914 also states On July 5 the delegates signed the Olive Branch Petition as a final attempt to restore harmony. King George refused to read it. • 42. Liquid Chondroitin Liquid glucosamine chondroitin is used to treat joint pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis and other joint and bone conditions. So why does glucosamine and chondroitin work so well together? They are both molecules which make up the cartilage that is found in our joints. It is normal for cartilage to break down and repair itself however it is abnormal when the repair stage breaks down. If glucosamine and chondroitin are not present in sufficient quantities then repair of joint cartilage can not take place and this is what leads to osteoarthritis and other painful joint conditions. By taking a glucosamine and chondroitin supplement, you ensure that there is always a ready supple of the cartilage building blocks to repair your joint cartilage. What is glucosamine? It has also been shown that the pain relief is very similar or even the same as that experienced by patients taking NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti inflammatory medications). The benefit of liquid glucosamine chondroitin over NSAIDs is the lack of side effects and discomfort. There are very few, if any, side effects to taking glucosamine and chondroitin joint supplements. There is also some evidence that NSAID s can actually INCREASE the progression of arthritis! This is a big risk to take if you are trying to reduce your arthritis symptoms. Glucosamine chondroitin on the other hand can protect the cartilage leading to long term relief from arthritis symptoms. Why Liquid? Liquid is absorbed quicker than any other form of substance that we put into our body. Short of injecting yourself with glucosamine chondroitin, a liquid form provides the fastest possible absorption into the bloodstream. Erwin Rommel was a German Field Marshal, one of the most outstanding commanders of the Second World War. The ones they usually say about: it is a pity that he was an enemy. He was one of the most liked by soldiers and a folk hero of Nazi Germany, and this was actively used for Nazi propaganda. Since 1941, the figure of Rommel (or as he was called in Africa fox of the desert ) became the most noticeable among the generals of Wehrmacht. He was the only person who had such a stunning jump in the military career from Hauptmann to field marshal. On October 23, 1942, when Rommel was in Germany for the reason of sickness, Montgomery started massive artillery bombardment which eventually finished as the Second Battle of El Alamein. Rommel immediately returned to North Africa, but could not help and stop break of the British which followed after a week of constant pressure by British infantry and tanks. On 4th of November he ordered to all of his people to retreat. Despite the eventual loss Rommel was a national hero for Nazi Germany. Anybody who came under the spell of his personality turned into a real soldier. He seemed to know what the enemy were like and how they would react. (Theodor Werner) This is a quote from one of the officers who served with the Desert Fox about Rommel. After the fail of anti Hitler s coup in 1944, one of its members, dying in tortures, named Rommel, and that determined the future of the great commander. On October 14th, Hitler sent to Rommel who was recovering from the wound two officers, giving him in honor of past services a choice to commit a suicide and leave as a hero or a to be brought before a Public Tribunal, which in face meant an automatic death sentence . I shall be dead in a quarter of an hour ( The Forced Suicide of Field Marshall Rommel, 1944) said the brave man and his wife took poison. Yet Rommel, as well as other Nazi generals, carries the share of responsibility for the world tragedy. He remained loyal to Hitler, because, being in full confidence that fulfills his military duty, took no notice of non military consequences of Naxi activities. • 44. Advantages And Disadvantages Of The ICP Over Other... The main analytical advantages of the ICP over other excitation sources are: (1) Arrangement of elements could be measured in single analysis cycle (2) Accurate to determine elemental concentration (3) Capability for efficient and reproducible vaporization, atomization, excitation, and ionization for a wide range of elements in various sample matrices. This is probably due to the high temperature of about 6000 7000 K, in the observation zones of the ICP. This temperature is much higher than the maximum temperature of flames or furnaces of about (3300 K). The high temperature of the ICP also makes it capable of exciting refractory elements, and renders it less prone to matrix interferences (Xiandeng,H. Bradley, T.J. 2000). Pizzagate was a conspiracy theory that went viral during the 2016 Presidential Election campaign, which alleged there was a child sex ring taking place and the top Democrats had something to do with it (Pizzagate: A Slice of Fake News). Some believe it all started when John Podesta, Hillary Clinton s campaign manager, had his email account hacked. Tons of emails were leaked and made public. His emails were said to contain coded messages that referred to human trafficking and were also connected to the Comet Ping Pong pizza parlor ( Pizzagate: A Slice of Fake News). James Alefantis is the owner of the Comet Ping Pong and also an acquaintance of Podesta. One email did contain Podesta and Alefantis discussing a fundraiser idea for Hillary Clinton, but no talk happened about the alleged child sex ring. While this news was spreading fast, Alefantis and his forty plus employees were receiving deaths threats, negative tweets on Twitter and Facebook, and facing harassing altercations with strangers. The staff observed social media outlets and counted five #pizzagate Twitter posts a minute at one point (Kang). I had been involved with a project that studied the readmissions experienced within the hospital system and established heart failure (HF) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorders (COPD) were our highest readmission problems. Our organization had found that millions of dollars had been left on the table since the Centers for Medicare Medicaid (CMS) handed down their final ruling in 2012 regarding reduced payments for preventable readmissions (CMS.gov, 2016). One of the outcomes of the project was the development of the rapid diuresis unit (RDU) through our Cardiac Decision Units (CDU) at several campuses. I often wondered how the RDU of the CDU was set up and how they function within the system. This is my opportunity to see the operation firsthand, the clientele it serves, the staff, and potential education needs that the department faces. • 49. Health Problems Of High Fructose Corn Syrup It todays society, health problems are becoming the norm. Adult obesity rates now exceed 35 percent in four states, 30 percent in 25 states and are above 20 percent in all states (Trust for America s Health and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation). Some of these major health problems can be prevented such as some diabetes, obesity that is not genetically inherited, as well as a reduced insulinproduction. To do this we need to start by looking at the foods that we eat, as well as the FDA s foodstandards. High Fructose Corn Syrupis in almost every processed food out there. This additive has replaced cane sugar because it is cheaper and easier to produce, even though is poses commonly know health risks like liver failure, obesity, and a reduced insulin production, and lesser known concerns such as mercury that are not spoken of that often. The federal government needs to get rid of High Fructose Corn Syrup in our processed foods because of the known health risks in both the production and consumption. We all know that High Fructose Corn Syrup is in our food but we don t know what it truly is and its hidden health risks it carries.
