2. Teachers’ Profession and
Competence Development in Finland!
• Vocational teacher education (60 ects qualification program)
grants a teacher’s diploma for working in vocational schools,
universities of applied sciences, adult education centres, liberal
adult education units and upper secondary schools as well as in
comprehensive schools.
• A general entrance requirement for vocational teachers in
secondary and tertiary education is vocational academic degree
and a three-year work experience in the respective field. The
assessment and decision of the employer might also affect on the
entry qualifications. For subject teachers the entrance requirement
is master’s degree.

8. Chips For Game Skills -project focuses on identifying the
needs of the game industry and develop the education on
the basis of them. The goal is to create a common evaluation
criteria – a digital open badge system – which clarifies the
definition and understanding of the learning objectives in the
games industry.
