INTRODUCTION The Milk Union was established in the year 1978. At the village level :Primary Dairy cooperative society  At the district level :District milk union. At the state level the State Cooperative Milk Producers Federation OMFED was registered in 1980. OMFED started to work since 1981. Took over OMPAC in 1988.
OBJECTIVES OF OMFED To carry out activities for promoting production,procurement,processing and marketing of milk and milk products. Improvement and protection of animals and economic betterment of those engaged in milk production. Purchase and/or erect building,plant machinary and other ancillary objects to carry out business. Advice,guide and assist the Milk Union .
CRITERIA FOR ALLOTMENT OF MILK BOOTH For Bhubaneswar, cuttack,puri, jajpur, nimapara & khurdaapplication in plain paper  is to be submitted to Dy. Gen. manager of BBSR dairy through  resp. marketing in charge of that area For other places  application should be submitted to plant manager of resp.dairy After receipt of the application field verification is to be done by field supervision staff   After allotment Rs.5000/- is to be deposited for distributorship of all OMFED Products and Rs.1000/- for fresh Milk products only as refundable Security amount.

Channel Distribution System RETAILERS MORNING OMFED MOBILE VAN EVENING MORNING=Delivery starts from  2-30-3.30 am Mobile van=10.30 am Evening=2.30-3.30 pm CUSTOMERS
CREDIT POLICY:It  strictly follows the cash basis of transactions. The retailers has to make a advance payment before the milk is to be supplied. But in certain cases it provides credit. For eg. SCB Medical college, Cuttuck;Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar  etc. DAMAGE GOODS POLICY :   In case of the Damaged goods, generally the retailer has to check the milk packets while taking the delivery of them. If it is found that any packet is spoiled or damaged then the Delivery Van will provide 1 pkt. extra for every 50 Ltrs. i.e. 10 pkts. for every 500 Liters. TRANSPORT SYSTEM :      OMFED does not have its own transport system. Each year it calls a tender notification for the transport of the products. Each dairy gets a separate transport agency for distribution of its products.

  • 2. INTRODUCTION The Milk Union was established in the year 1978. At the village level :Primary Dairy cooperative society At the district level :District milk union. At the state level the State Cooperative Milk Producers Federation OMFED was registered in 1980. OMFED started to work since 1981. Took over OMPAC in 1988.
  • 3. OBJECTIVES OF OMFED To carry out activities for promoting production,procurement,processing and marketing of milk and milk products. Improvement and protection of animals and economic betterment of those engaged in milk production. Purchase and/or erect building,plant machinary and other ancillary objects to carry out business. Advice,guide and assist the Milk Union .
  • 4. CRITERIA FOR ALLOTMENT OF MILK BOOTH For Bhubaneswar, cuttack,puri, jajpur, nimapara & khurdaapplication in plain paper is to be submitted to Dy. Gen. manager of BBSR dairy through resp. marketing in charge of that area For other places application should be submitted to plant manager of resp.dairy After receipt of the application field verification is to be done by field supervision staff After allotment Rs.5000/- is to be deposited for distributorship of all OMFED Products and Rs.1000/- for fresh Milk products only as refundable Security amount.

  • 9. CREDIT POLICY:It strictly follows the cash basis of transactions. The retailers has to make a advance payment before the milk is to be supplied. But in certain cases it provides credit. For eg. SCB Medical college, Cuttuck;Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar etc. DAMAGE GOODS POLICY : In case of the Damaged goods, generally the retailer has to check the milk packets while taking the delivery of them. If it is found that any packet is spoiled or damaged then the Delivery Van will provide 1 pkt. extra for every 50 Ltrs. i.e. 10 pkts. for every 500 Liters. TRANSPORT SYSTEM : OMFED does not have its own transport system. Each year it calls a tender notification for the transport of the products. Each dairy gets a separate transport agency for distribution of its products.
