3. AutoCAD
Through the many AutoCAD classes that I have taken, I have learned
everything from drawing that first line, to xrefs, to 3-D drawings. Here are just
a few examples of what I have previously done.
4. AutoCad
This is a 3-D drawing I made of a bracket. You can also see the top and side
view of the bracket.
5. AutoCad
This is a cutout of a shaft support that I drew up. From the left, you can see
the cutout, the front view, and then the side view.
6. AutoCad
On the right, using proper projection and
auxiliary views, the true lengths of lines
and sides, as well as true angles can be
found of a given building, wall, etc.
Below, given any two crossing beams in a
view, the proper order can be determined,
whether one be on top or bottom, in front
or behind, etc.
7. SolidWorks
This is a special bearing which includes almost every part of the
beginnings of solid modeling, including: material definition, cuts,
and fillets just to name a few.
8. SolidWorks
The table on the left
was used using the
“weldments” tool in
Solidworks, which as
you can see very
clearly on the bottom
feet of the table, the
weld beads holding
the feet to the table
legs.
9. SolidWorks
In this top down assembly, I started with just the basic shape
of the level, then using the existing parameters,
created the glass tube for the liquid,
and the viewing plate, just by
using the top view of the level
10. SolidWorks
The halyard guide on the left
was used by simply starting
with the basic line of the
outter and inner curves
and drafting the surface
then mirroring the
other half of the part.
11. SolidWorks
In this 5C collet tray, I designed a simple, economic tray that you could
carry around with you to hold 8 5C collets for the CNC machine. I
understand completely the need to keep them organized, since I have
taken a year of classes using these collets.
13. SolidWorks
The part assembly you see above is something Jay Braunecker and I
designed for muscular dystrophy patients. Muscular dystrophy can effect
any age of people, but we specifically chose the Becker’s form of MD since
only males can get it. Muscular dystrophy is a disease in which muscle
deteriorates or gets weaker over time and slows down the movement in
that particular body part.
Credits go to 80/20 Inc. for the caster wheels in our project.
14. SolidWorks
The figure on the left shows everything I
learned in the first Solidworks class I took.
This is an assembly of a shaft support.
15. SolidWorks
This is a project presented by a local business in
Bloomington, IN in which people take their ideas,
give it to the company, and see what the company
can come up with. The idea came from a game of
Spanish decent and is quite popular.
16. Manual Programming
To start off programming, I started writing each program by hand. The diagram on
the left is what we would be given to write the program and the code on the right is
what we would have to program. This is not the same program for the drawing.
17. CAD/CAM PROGRAMMING
Through the many different programs that I have programmed, I have
made 2-D programs, which is what you see on the left, to 3-D programs,
which is what you see on the right. We were taught how to do different
finishes and functions to please the customer.
