1. Activity is planned for offshore wind development in 5-6 of the original 16 zones earmarked around India, with zones C, G, and H cancelled due to defense issues. 2. Zone B has been selected for a 1 GW tender by FOWPI and NIWE, with geophysical surveys starting in late 2018. 3. New LIDARs are planned for zones A and B, covering 4,400 square km, with the potential to map 14-15 GW of wind. The LIDARs will be operational in September 2019.
