Broken Window Theory
• It is the effect of Lack of organization
and Dirty places on Social Behavior;
• Root Causes Matters;
• Opportunity and
Vulnerability of Crime;
• Individuals will begin to commit crime such as
Panhandling, Prostitution and Drug dealing.
• These Crime will become part of the regular
activities taking place in the abandoned building
and will then spread out into the Neighborhood.
• Create more problems for the whole
Neighborhood and the Society, due to less
involvement of Community.
• “Fix the BrokenWindows”;
• Attack the initial factor of the Casual Chain:-
Disorder caused by disreputable people
Breakdown in Informal control.
Invasion of Predatory Criminal.
High Crime Rate in the Neighborhood.
CONCLUSION
 Little things matter - Take care of little
things and the Big things will take care of
themselves.
 "If a window is broken and left
unrepaired, people walking by will
conclude that no one cares and no one is
in charge."
 Carelessness implies Vulnerability.
Thanks
for your
kind Attention !
