There are three main things that I learnt during this experience is that scheduling is very
important during production as it was quite challenging making sure that you and your crew
can set a date to film as there were times that the actors were free but me and Emmanuel
wasn’t as we had lesson or I had work and couldn’t work on the day that the actors was
free, so it came down to a date which meant only 2/3 of the actors were free so we had to
film only using 2 characters this meant the filmslightly changed a bit however the film still
went well. The other thing that I learnt about this whole experience is that its changeling
and that you have to be independent by solving your problems you self and to keep under
pressure when time is running out during the pre-production. As are group only coincided of
two people it meant that when we was running out of time we could pull together and help
each other. The shooting schedule helped organise and managed the production as it saved
us times. The shooting schedule impacted in production as it told us what we was to shoot
knowing the schedule and what’s going to happen. Next time I production I’ve learnt that
the shooting schedule is there for a reason meaning that couple of days before production I
should of got my actors together to rehearse the filmas when production came I found out
one for the actors wasn’t a good actor and was average and not believable. The storyboard
which I created in pre-production was beneficial as it was detailed enough to understand
and know what goes next in the narrative so we don’t have to waste time thinking of what
happens or goes next. Furthermore it helped the actors understand what they’re doing and
how they should be when the camera angle is being shot. The story board was very helpful
however more shots should have been added as we had to improvise when filming. Pe the
planning the production roles was helpful as we were both given jobs that we was well
suited to o. The thing I learnt that we should of went into detail on why the person has been
given the job and if they have any examples of where they did this that would have been
useful as I as producer forgot to bring the storyboard and shot list, this delayed us as we and
to find a printer and print it out so next time I shouldn’t be the producer as I am less
organised and the role should be someone who is more organise. However impart from the
producer doing this still has an impact as we could use are strong skills to finish that
production and we was still able to help each other during this time. The shot list helped me
and the actors understand what shots we are going to use at what time of the day. I learnt that
we should add more to the shot list, as we had to think of more shots to add to each
section. The location reece and risk assessment was benfital in this production as it made us
more organise as to what faults may happen at the scene of production. This helped us
managed the production as when I went to the location to do the reece I had to analyse all
sorts of things such as whether the wind was bad, I checked this by using my phone and
recording something and then watched it back to see if I could hear the wind, fortunately
the wind wasn’t bad as it was sunny so we didn’t have to relocate, also as we was going to
be filming in the evening I checked out if there was any street lights as we could not provide
lighting outside due to know sockets. The location reece and risk assessment was very
detailed, it was also affective as when we got to the place we was aware of what could be at
risk to the crew and actors, this made us more alert and more focus on ways to avoid
anything from happening. The impact that it had on the cast and crew was that doing the
2. risk assessments mean there could be no accidents happening ass we was all aware of the
hazards that was at the scene of production, however for the location reece it meant that
we didn’t have to change locations at the last minute and we was well prepared. The call
sheets was very useful in this particular production this was because it told the production
crew what time we have to be at the location and how the day is going to be planned out
such as the break that everyone’s having and the order of what scene is going to be next. I
think that if we followed the call sheet the production would have been more organised as
at one point we didn’t know what was going to happening next and if the actors and crew
had enough time for lunch breaks. Location release forms helped us during production as it
was evidence to show people that we had permission to film on site from the owner, as if
we didn’t have the location release form we would’ve been kicked of the location and would
have know where to film. The location reece was every detailed as it explained everything
on the sheet for the owner to sign. From this I learnt that this is very important. Overall I
think that we could’ve mad some important changed to production so that are film would of
been to the best of our abilities such as giving the role of the producer to someone who’s
more organised and having the shot list to be a range of shots so that we had back up shots
in case some of the shots didn’t flow right. If I had the chance to do this again I would make
sure that I spend extra time on pre production instead of rushing it and have more time to
think through it.
