Modeling and detailing of Gas turbine components
Scope of the project is to create Model of the gas turbine componets for various purpose like support to EMU, testfacilities ,
Analysis work,revise of legacy model etc. The inputs were 2D form like pdf, tiff etc. The project includes Detail Design &
modeling, creation of 3D models, sheet metal modeling & Creating 2D Manufacturing drawings.
PROJECT TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Involved in 3D modeling of Gas turbine components like shaft-low pressure compressor, housing-impeller, gearshaft-
accessory drive, assy of startor compressor, piston-bleed valve, shaft-low pressure compressor, case fan, hub compressor
rear etc.

* Clash analysis between parts using Catia V5 in assembly mode.
* Preparation of 2D drawings like detailing,Turbo assembly,Engine Installation,CIC(Clearance chart Index) etc, in Catia V5 &

* Involved in creating casting, machining drawings for Gas turbine components.
Creation of Standard Part Library
Modeling of the Aircraft Engine Catalog parts, with support of knowledge ware tools and check for the compatibility of the
other instances, creating the design table by inputting the values in excel sheet and properly linking that to the model,
associating the parameters to the corresponding values in the sheet. The delivery also involves creation of automation
supporting files, creating the tubing definitions and parameters in the model as per the methodology and use of knowledge
ware relations.

* Creating parametric modeling of standard parts like Elbow adapter, self-locking nut, various brackets & Supports etc. from
2D Drawings & design table Parmetric modeling of parts from 2D inputs.

2D assembly of Turbo prop. engine
Engine assembly cross section of Turbo prop engine. Assembly drawing of a turbo propeller engine full cross section.All 2D
parts assembled as per client requirement.
PROJECT TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
* This project involves modelling of piston-bleed valve, shaft-low pressure compressor, case fan, hub compressor rear etc.
* Generate 3d model from the 2D drawing to get the require view of the part in the assembly.
* Find out all the require parts from the standard library of the client.
* Assemble all the parts as like the existing engine.
* Clash analysis between all parts using catia V5.
* Do the QC job for full 2D assembled cross section drawing.
Engineering changes Management
Engineering change Management- conversion of legacy drawing to new version, implementation of class 1 and class 2
Engineering change document as well as mark up. Perform major assembly change for available assembly drawings as per
design change document. Ensuring the TOL numbers refers to the CIC Target numbers drawing and documenting the same
Implementing IC concepts. Entering 2D data matrix note at the right loc. Involved in the major assembly changes in the CIC
drawing both in the pictorially and also change of the Tol numbers Which will have Tolerance ref numbers between the
assemblies
PROJECT TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
* For executing this project you have to thoroughly trained with all client specification, client has given so many documents
for this, like DRM (drafting room manual, WIM (work instruction manual) etc.
* Drawing generation and updating as per design changes and client requirements.
* The primary responsibility of the project is carried out the design changes in drawing following the mark up as well as EC
(Engineering changes Document).
* Conversion of legacy drawings & models from old version to new version CATIA V4 to CATIA V5 and implements the
changes.
* Prepare necessary documents as per design change in drawing.
Buy to Fly
This project is part of Should-Cost analysis. Buy weight is weight of the material to be procured for manufacturing and the fly
weight is the final product weight. This project involves estimating the quantity of raw material to be procured from market
before manufacturing, which in turn helps in calculating the final raw material required for the manufacturing the engine in
whole.

• 3D model generation from 2D drawings, using “Part Design and GSD work benches”.
• Migration and complete re-digitization using Digitized Shape Editor Workbench.

Front- Upper Control Arm
This is a chassis system component front upper control system, forging component. requirement of the customer was
conversion 3D model from V4 to V5, creation of specification tree, maintaining all parameter. Responsibilities included
Conversion from V4 to V5, creation of specification tree, maintaining all parameter, editing the model.
Speedo Flap Cowling
The project was to develop some design modifications in the already existing part. This part was to hold the digital
speedometer of the two-wheeler vehicle. Client provide us the old part file and the requirement is to develop the model that
has to be aesthetically good and has to fit into the assembly. Responsibilities included new 3d model and manufacturing
drawing creation.
Rear view Mirror Housing
This is a reverse engineering project, which involves creation of 3-D model of rear view Mirror Housing. This product is fitted
in the four-wheeler vehicle for viewing the rear objects in the mirror. The cloud points were taken from existing model using
FARO-Arm machine. Using these points model was designed through Catia v5 with some design and aesthetical changes as
demand by customer. Responsibilities included Taking cloud points using faro-Arm machine and 3d model creation.

Engineering changes Management Engineering change Management- conversion of legacy drawing to new version, implementation of class 1 and class 2 Engineering change document as well as mark up. Perform major assembly change for available assembly drawings as per design change document. Ensuring the TOL numbers refers to the CIC Target numbers drawing and documenting the same Implementing IC concepts. Entering 2D data matrix note at the right loc. Buy to Fly This project is part of Should-Cost analysis. Buy weight is weight of the material to be procured for manufacturing and the fly weight is the final product weight. This project involves estimating the quantity of raw material to be procured from market before manufacturing, which in turn helps in calculating the final raw material required for the manufacturing the engine in whole. Worked as a CAD Engineer, responsibilities were • 3D model generation from 2D drawings, using “Part Design and GSD work benches”. • Migration and complete re-digitization using Digitized Shape Editor Workbench. • Manufacturing drawing creation. • Reverse Engineering PROJECTS Front- Upper Control Arm This is a chassis system component front upper control system, forging component. requirement of the customer was conversion 3D model from V4 to V5, creation of specification tree, maintaining all parameter. Responsibilities included Conversion from V4 to V5, creation of specification tree, maintaining all parameter, editing the model. Speedo Flap Cowling The project was to develop some design modifications in the already existing part. This part was to hold the digital speedometer of the two-wheeler vehicle. Client provide us the old part file and the requirement is to develop the model that has to be aesthetically good and has to fit into the assembly. Responsibilities included new 3d model and manufacturing drawing creation. Rear view Mirror Housing This is a reverse engineering project, which involves creation of 3-D model of rear view Mirror Housing. This product is fitted in the four-wheeler vehicle for viewing the rear objects in the mirror. The cloud points were taken from existing model using FARO-Arm machine. Using these points model was designed through Catia v5 with some design and aesthetical changes as demand by customer. Responsibilities included Taking cloud points using faro-Arm machine and 3d model creation.
