Guatemala is a Latin American country with a population of 15 million people and Spanish as its official language. It currently has a low ranking on e-government implementation according to international indicators. Some challenges to improving e-government in Guatemala include a culture based on paper processes, lack of computer training, insufficient budgets, and inadequate connectivity. However, strategies like increasing transparency of local expenditures, facilitating online public services, promoting competitiveness, and improving governance could help overcome these obstacles. A new training program aims to contribute to Guatemala City's e-government efforts by enhancing transparency, efficiency, integration, accessibility, and governance through knowledge transfer and other means.
