5. Who is Dr. Schneider?
Counselors will always have your support and you can visit any time…you
also have another support that is here for you.
Dr. Schneider is the Intervention Counselor. She assists in coordinating
support groups to help students with a variety of issues.

6. How do I earn credits?
 You need credits in order to graduate
 You earn 5 credits for each PASSED class
 You will take 6 classes each semester
 6 classes x 5 credits = 30 credits for 1 semester
 There are 2 semesters in a year

A, B, C, & D’s are passing grades. F’s are NOT passing grades, MUST retake the class

For UC/CSU Admissions
Grades MUST be ”C” or better
a = History/Social Science - 2 years
b = English - 4 years
c = Mathematics- 3 years required, 4 years rec.
d = Laboratory Science - 2 years required, 3 years rec.
e = Language other than English - 2 years required, 3 years rec.
f = Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) -1 year required
g = College Preparatory Electives - 1 year required
D’s
It is similar to our graduation requirements - Need to take at least
another year of math and science, along with 2 or 3 years of foreign

13. How to be successful in high
school
• Attend all of your classes! You will not learn if you miss class.
• Complete and turn in your homework (50 % of your grade!)
• Be organized by using your student planner
• Take notes and review them daily
• Ask Questions and participate in class
• Study in a quiet location
• View grades on the student portal
• Form study groups or have study buddies
• Schedule breaks! Your brain needs to relax in order to focus.
