He had worked with Beyoncé for several of times, in
fact, the music video of single ladies has reach the
record of 80millions views on YouTube in three months.



The song track was so popular and also globally which
has created attentions on the director as the music video
is very iconic by having iconography choreograph which
has the narrative of performance.



This music video has also helped Jake Nava to receive
many awards such as the ‘video of the year’ by the MTV
Europe Awards in 2009.

Jake Nava mentions in an interview that the idea of
focusing three people dancing was inspired by the Bob
Fosse choreographed by Gwen Verdon in ‘Mexican
Breakfast’; both music videos is interdentally related. In
fact, I like the way he was inspired by old music video.



The mise en scene of the music video was related to the
lyrics meaning as the ring has the representation of the
relationship . This could simply create an connection to the
audience since a ring could have the convention of
marriage, relationship and love.



He has the style of constantly using wide shot to focus on
the figure to show the chorography clearly. On the other
hand, he would often use close up shot to make sure the
artist has made an eye contact to the audience through the
camera work. His camera technique has inspired our group
to use close up to achieve a emotion connections through
the facial expression of the actor.


He’s also involved with the advertising industry and
worked with diverse company such as HSBC, Puma
and Revlon. In 2013, Jake Nava once again has
worked with Beyonce for an advert of Pepsi max.



It is an advert of Beyonce dancing front of the
mirror with different style of her, in fact, he has
used the iconic dance steps in ‘Crazy In love’ music
video which was also directed by him back in 2003;
That video has category of Best R&B music video on
the same released year.



This has created a connection to the audience who
are Beyonce’s fans or watched the music video
before. He doesn’t only work with artist, in fact, he
is a director who have been trying different concept
and genre to work on.

He directed different types of adverts across
the country which included sports products,
make up and so on.



For an example, in 2012 he directed a TV
advert for ‘Marks and Spencer’ fashion line
that is based on their autumn and winter
clothing. Through out the advert, audience
could clear understand the target audience,
this is because he only used female model who
are 25 and above.
Overall, he has use short shot duration to
display the style of business class and mature
look. The editing has achieve the fast
transaction of different clothing and create
interested for the audience.



  • 3.  He had worked with Beyoncé for several of times, in fact, the music video of single ladies has reach the record of 80millions views on YouTube in three months.  The song track was so popular and also globally which has created attentions on the director as the music video is very iconic by having iconography choreograph which has the narrative of performance.  This music video has also helped Jake Nava to receive many awards such as the ‘video of the year’ by the MTV Europe Awards in 2009.
  • 5.  Jake Nava mentions in an interview that the idea of focusing three people dancing was inspired by the Bob Fosse choreographed by Gwen Verdon in ‘Mexican Breakfast’; both music videos is interdentally related. In fact, I like the way he was inspired by old music video.  The mise en scene of the music video was related to the lyrics meaning as the ring has the representation of the relationship . This could simply create an connection to the audience since a ring could have the convention of marriage, relationship and love.  He has the style of constantly using wide shot to focus on the figure to show the chorography clearly. On the other hand, he would often use close up shot to make sure the artist has made an eye contact to the audience through the camera work. His camera technique has inspired our group to use close up to achieve a emotion connections through the facial expression of the actor.
  • 6.  He’s also involved with the advertising industry and worked with diverse company such as HSBC, Puma and Revlon. In 2013, Jake Nava once again has worked with Beyonce for an advert of Pepsi max.  It is an advert of Beyonce dancing front of the mirror with different style of her, in fact, he has used the iconic dance steps in ‘Crazy In love’ music video which was also directed by him back in 2003; That video has category of Best R&B music video on the same released year.  This has created a connection to the audience who are Beyonce’s fans or watched the music video before. He doesn’t only work with artist, in fact, he is a director who have been trying different concept and genre to work on.
  • 8.  He directed different types of adverts across the country which included sports products, make up and so on.  For an example, in 2012 he directed a TV advert for ‘Marks and Spencer’ fashion line that is based on their autumn and winter clothing. Through out the advert, audience could clear understand the target audience, this is because he only used female model who are 25 and above. Overall, he has use short shot duration to display the style of business class and mature look.
