3. Potential approaches
The main approach I want to do is a website
that shows you different places to visit in
York, I plan to make it eye catching and easy
to access/ use so that people aged 19-24 will
be more likely to use it. I could get photos
of the shops and then write a brief but
appealing introduction to each place. I need
to make sure that the places I use are
“cool” and “trendy” so it fits into what
somebody my age would be interested in.
My other approach was to make an Instagram
account that posts food places and goes into
detail about the service/ aesthetic and area
etc. this choice was more suiting to me as I
feel like people in the select age range use
4. Potential techniques to use
• Some techniques that I can use which will
make my website/ Instagram page better are
appealing photos/ videos, easy to follow
pages, reviews, matching colour scheme,
simplicity but not boring and variety.
These will be beneficial because each
feature is friendly to the viewer and
makes the overall experience more
enjoyable. Some techniques that I can use
that link more with production are reviews
and ratings and personalization so each
person can find exactly what they want.
5. Conventions of your chosen
format/genre you are working
to
• -simple theme but still eye catching
• -matching theme/ easy to look at
• -easy to use
• -reviews and ratings
• -contact number/ email
• -no repetitiveness
• -personalization/ fitting to each viewer
7. Summary
• 5 opportunities of your ideas
• - I get to try out new places around York
• -I could potentially find something I
enjoy doing
• I might
8. Summary
• 5 restrictions to your ideas
• -I might not be able to visit enough
places for my website/ Instagram page to
be full
• -I might not get enough photos or any good
quality photos of the places
• I might not be able to find my way and not
visit enough places.
• -I might not be able to travel to York,
therefore not getting any photos
• -I might not have enough money to visit as
9. Final idea – rationale
• I chose these ideas because it seems more
enjoyable than the others and I can have
more control over what I do. I think buy
doing a website and/or an Instagram page I
can acquire a new skill and have more fun
and play around with the layouts. Some
skills that I already have to help me with
these are designing things and being able
to somewhat use photoshop. I have also
made websites in the past so this will be
useful .I look forward to being able to
create a good website that functions well
and also is appealing to the viewer. I am
10. Final idea – creative
concept
• I want to make a website and Instagram
page that are easily accessible and are
easy to use. I want them to both match in
theme without it being too repetitive and
have a nice, easy to look at colour scheme
and font. I want there to be multiple
interactive features that help personalize
and fit what the viewer wants and is
looking for. I feel like a bright colour
like red/ green or blue will be good for
catching people’s attention without being
too bright to the point its annoying.
13. Title of production/production
outline
Summary of intended production:
I am going to make a website with a linked
Instagram account that revies and links places
to eat and drink at in York. The outcome that
I hope for is a fully functioning, easy to use
and access website & Instagram page that
successfully advertises the chosen places and
persuades people ages 18-24 to visit them. For
the photography/ filming side of things I
think I will need a tripod, a camera and
possibly a ring light. This is so that
everything will look professional and up to
par with other websites doing a similar
thing.
14. Locations
• You need to identify locations and plan a recce.
• Some of the places I plan to visit and use
for my work are:
• -fancy hank’s bar & kitchen
• -Roberto authentic Italian gelato
• -spark
• -Bettys café tea rooms
Some limitations of my work are distance, cost
and access. I can attempt to overcome these by
trying to plan before hand and saving up to
cover the cost of the food and travel. I can
also book places, so I am guaranteed a place.
15. Equipment
I will need a camera, a tripod and a ring
light for the filming aspect of my work, I
can most likely get these from home but if
not, I can ask college. I will have to
speak to Chelsea and book beforehand so
there's room for error. I could also rent
out the equipment I need from a shop nearby
as an absolute last resort.
16. Facilities
• I will be editing my photos and videos
with photoshop and premier pro. Possibly
with some other apps on my phone that I
use for editing outside of college too. I
could also use apple final cut pro and
apple iMovie. I will be editing my work at
college mainly and if I decide to use my
phone for parts I will do some at home as
well.
17. Personnel
• CREW: The people in my crew are Spencer, Emilia.
They are both available on weekends since during
the week they have college/ work. One strength
from both is that Emilia has done photography for a
long time and Spencer has made detailed websites
before.
• CAST: one cost implication is that I am unaware if
they would want to travel a few times to
take photos with me. Lunch won't be an issue as we
are travelling to eat.
26. Structural breakdown/planning
• Breakdown your project into its basic sections and
apply broad visual and creative ideas to each
section.
• You can use this as the master template for your
production, then add more shots/pages, etc to
each section when you develop your full sequenced
plan and planned outcomes.
• You should create a slide showing all the sections of
the project, then add a slide for each section with
timings, what happens visually and in terms of
audio, page layout aim to have as much specific
detail as possible.

What are the
hazards?
Who might be
harmed and how?
What are you

What further
action is
necessary?
How will you

37. Contingency Planning
Just in case something goes wrong with production I
plan to either change my website and Instagram page
to be focused around music rather than food, or I
will have to create the websites and Instagram page
without photographs and rely on animation. I could
also turn it into an advertisement with part filming
and part animation.
