categories identified by the Department of Commerce exceeded $43 billion in 2018. The medical technology industry
(commonly referred to as medical devices) consists of articles, instruments, apparatuses, or machines that are used in the

her role, Ashley leads the surgery, orthopaedics, interventional solutions and eye health businesses, which generate approximately $27B in revenue. The
Medical Devices sector employs 70,000 associates across Ethicon, DePuy Synthes, Biosense Webster and Johnson & Johnson Vision.
Ashley has been with Johnson & Johnson for more than 20 years and has served in leadership roles in Consumer and Medical Devices. She is a
Credo-based leader who has delivered above-market performance for all four multibillion-dollar global companies she has led, and she is particularly adept
at designing turnaround strategies for mission-critical businesses.
In 2006, Ashley co-led the integration of Pfizer Consumer Healthcare into McNeil, the largest acquisition Johnson & Johnson had done to date. She
delivered above-market results for the company’s global over-the-counter business, while advancing patient access through key innovations like the
first-of-its-kind switch of Zyrtec® to OTC status. In 2009, as the Worldwide President of Ethicon, Ashley ran the global wound management business and

Jennifer has been a leader in shaping Janssen’s global strategy of transformational medical innovation, successfully bringing to market critical new
medicines that significantly improve the lives of patients living with cancer, immune-related diseases, heart disease and diabetes, infectious diseases
including HIV, pulmonary hypertension and serious mental illness. Under her leadership Janssen has become the world’s third-largest innovative
pharmaceutical business and remains a significant contributor to Johnson & Johnson’s growth. Jennifer is also recognized as a champion of diversity and
inclusion, which she sees as critical to insight, innovation and business success.
Prior to being named to her current role, as Company Group Chairman, The Americas, Jennifer led businesses that were a major catalyst of Johnson &

Kathy Wengel is Executive Vice President & Chief Global Supply Chain Officer for Johnson & Johnson, and a member of the company’s Executive
Committee. A strong developer of globally diverse teams, she leads a Supply Chain organization that brings healthcare products and services to more
than a billion patients and consumers around the world every day.
Kathy leads all aspects of Supply Chain across Johnson & Johnson’s three business sectors: Consumer Health, Medical Devices and Pharmaceuticals.
Her responsibilities include enterprise Supply Chain strategy, innovation and deployment, planning, sourcing, manufacturing, distribution and customer
service. She also has corporatewide responsibility for Quality & Compliance; Environmental Health, Safety & Sustainability; and Engineering &
Property Services, including Real Estate, Facilities and Capital Project Management.
Since joining Johnson & Johnson in 1988, her responsibilities have grown to include a variety of strategic leadership and executive positions across the
enterprise, working in multiple countries and roles within operations, quality, engineering, new product development and other business functions.
Prior to Kathy’s current role, she was Vice President, Quality & Compliance (Q&C), and the first Chief Quality Officer for Johnson & Johnson, with
enterprise leadership responsibility for Q&C, Sterility Assurance and Operations Readiness & Convergence. During this time, she also co-led the design

Shannon Thyme Klinger has been Group General Counsel of Novartis since 2018. She is a member of the Executive Committee of Novartis.
Ms. Klinger most recently served as Chief Ethics, Risk and Compliance Officer from April to May 2018, and was appointed to the Executive

Susanne Schaffert, Ph.D., has been President of Novartis Oncology since January 1, 2019. She is a member of the Executive Committee of Novartis.
Ms. Schaffert was appointed Chairperson and President of Advanced Accelerator Applications when it was acquired by Novartis in January 2018.
She joined Novartis more than 20 years ago and served as General Manager of Europe for Novartis Oncology from 2012 to 2018. Prior to that, she

Marie-France Tschudin has been President of Novartis Pharmaceuticals since June 7, 2019. She is a member of the Executive Committee of

Ms. Tschudin previously was President of Advanced Accelerator Applications, a Novartis company, from March to June 2019. She joined
Novartis in 2017 as Europe Region Head of Novartis Pharmaceuticals, and has more than 25 years of broad, multinational experience in the

Linda Tharby serves as executive vice president (EVP) of Customer Experience for BD (Becton, Dickenson and Company), a leading global medical technology company
based in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. She is responsible for establishing a strategy to ensure that the voice and needs of BD customers are represented in its strategic
planning, innovation, end-to-end process design, technology architecture, organization design and culture. Linda leads the Company’s Global Customer Experience

of BD Pharmaceutical Systems, worldwide president of BD Diabetes Care, group president of BD Preanalytical Systems and BD Biosciences, and president of the Life
Sciences segment. In her experience prior to BD, Tharby held positions in the consulting, application software and consumer packaged goods industries.
Tharby was honored as 2012 Woman of the Year by the Northern New Jersey and Rockland County Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in recognition of
her extensive commitment to diabetes care throughout her career. She also serves on the Board of Overseers of the Columbia School of Public Health and chairs the
Enterprise Strategy Committee. Tharby earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Wilfrid Laurier University.
