Internet is Good for Ministry
• 25% of Internet users have gotten religious or
spiritual information*
– Sept 2009 – 1.73 Billion * 20% = 346M
– 90% of children ages 5-17
• Never stops communicating – 24/7
• Every language, religion, lifestyle and interest

1 – Spiritual Preparation
• Relationship. To have a personal relationship with Jesus.
(Acts 16:31, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will
be saved.")

• Worship. To have daily personal and corporate worship
which includes adoration, confession, thanksgiving and
supplication. (Heb 10:25, assembling ourselves…”)

• Prayer. To have others committed to pray for him/her
while on the Internet. Enlist a prayer team to pray for you.
(1 Thess. 5:17, "Pray unceasingly.")

• Rely on the creator God in the power of the Holy Spirit.
To not rely on his/her own intellect and ability.

2 – Evangelistic Preparation
• "The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to release the oppressed,
to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor." (Luke 4:18-19)

6 Essentials Before Speaking to
Others Online
1. Spend time preparing yourself spiritually to be used by the
Spirit. This is essential. We must not attempt to work online in
our power and our might.

2. Get your resources together. Use an online Bible >>

3. Use other trusted References. CCF ICM will provide you. Our
Internet Pastor.

4. Point people to the Bible. The Word of God is the only safe
place for them and for us to stand.

5. Conversations need to be confidential. Always respect privacy

6. Purchase a virus and spyware protection program

10 Tips for Building Relationships
on Facebook
1. Make your profile public or make a public profile 
2. Post your profile picture
3. Watch your personal data
4. Ask a question to start a discussion
5. Comment on People’s statuses
6. Don't poke people. Go easy on the games.
7. Do write on their wall (send a message, public
encouragement, let them know you are there)

Ideas for Effective Online Ministry
1. Watch for Divine Encounters

2. Conversations and relationships
• Start conversations that lead to spiritual
topics.
• Your areas of passion and felt-needs can be
used as entryways for conversation
• Like sites……..Friend people
• Share hobbies, photos, interests, songs, etc
• Respond to even negative issues…

Stick to facts…Lead back to Jesus

Best Times to Post / Interact
• Before office – people check
when they open their computers
• Lunch time – people check after
lunch
• Right before 5pm – people check
when they are about to go home
• Late night – for the night owls

Our Responsibility
• Spiritual Parents >> help children grow

• The primary place for the nurture of new
believers is the local church.

• Some nurture can be done online for the
new convert…follow-up
