Baptists are a Protestant Christian denomination whose members are baptized as a profession of faith. Though Baptist beliefs can vary slightly between churches, they universally share core beliefs including the Holy Trinity, the virgin birth and resurrection of Jesus, salvation through grace alone, and that Jesus will return. Baptist churches contain religious symbols and furnishings such as a cross, baptismal pool, communion table, pulpit, and screen for presentations. A key distinguishing feature is the baptismal pool for baptizing new members.

7. This is a pulpit- an elevated platform at the front of the church where a member of the clergy stands to deliver a sermon, or to read the Gospel lesson.
